As a 29 yrs old chemical engineer, the suddenness of your death by airplane crash seemed like a terrible injustice.

Well, children are still kept as slaves in Nestlé chocolate (cocoa) plantations all over Ivory Coast in Africa, so, you know, it depends on who you ask.

But, the next thing you knew was a kind pair of hands welcoming you to the light of your new life. And what a life it is!

Not only did you get to keep the memories of your last life, but you were reborn to a word of swords and sorcery, the likes of you always dreamt of.

Who wants to work 40-70 hours a week when you can be a mighty wizard throwing lightning bolts at an evil dragon, or a whitwe knight bitchslapping the evil overlord off his throne?

Your parents were retired adventurers, living in a small countryside village with a cutesy elf maid, and when you showed up the ability to use magic while laying on your crib, they thought their child was a progidy.

Well, your dad did. Your mom was really worried at first but changed her ming over time.

When war erupted in the southern border, dad had to join in on the nation's defense, and mom moved the family to the east, to the magocratic city state of Albion, which was

1 - Not at war with a massive ancient empire
2 - Known for being impregnable thanks to its location and well trained military of warrior mages
3 - The place where she studied magic, and where she was offered a position as teacher and lecturer.

Currently, we are almost 9 years old. We joined a party (we are keeping that a secret from mom), started earning money like no 9 years old should have a right to thanks to our knowledge on basic chemistry, and bought off a slavegirl to be our lovely new sister.

Currently, we are inside the city of Albion's easten dungeon's 12th floor boss room, where we just defeated a hydra-plant-dragon hybrid thing and got a large treasure chest.

Damn, very close to a crit on a d1000, I wonder what that nets us. Hope it's something someone in our family can use. Slave girl's a dancer right?

Also, OP, I'd like to know if our tacit casting ability (i.e. able to cast without words) can be passed on by our own personal instruction. If so, that's another thing we don't want people knowing about. They'd cut us up!
>>
>>34974870
>can be passed on by our own personal instruction.
It's a known ability that just requires a lot of training and practice. It's surprising for us to have it because normally only middle-aged adults and older have the mature mind needed to channel energies without chanting.

Mom told us not to do it because without chanting, the normal feedback safeguards found in a spell are turned off in exchange for speed of casting.

It actually fits with our 'child prodigy' reputation, and wouldn't cause people to vivisect us.

Also, when mom explained that was wary of spending bonus points because there was no one to experiment on...did we explain that we had already spent bonus points on ourself to no ill effect? we really should. Maybe elizabeth will volunteer more easily. I really want to get those done.

Monster Juice
A fetid liquid that monsters find irresistible. It can be used to to make a young (natural, non-dungeon) monster into a pet.
Worth 63g

>>34974870
It is rare, but not unheard of.
Most people need to chant their spells.
Sages like to research into ways to make spell chants shorter, polishing off needless words looking for the perfect [Enerrgy type + mana required]/safety = Power formula
A few gifted individuals can cast chantlessly, so its not something that will blow the minds of a worldly wizard, but it is fairly rare. Like, just 3 people at the magic university can do it. You, the principal and a teacher.

And yes you can try to teach it to someone, but it looks like the more exposure they've had to magic, the harder it is to learn chantless magic. It requires a different approach than the scholarly method.

"Oooh, this is really nyace, nya!" ~the cat-tribe beast girl says as she tries on the hair ornament

We can always auction it later if funds become tight.

>* "Let her keep it, it looks cute on her"
We have enough gifts besides she has basically claimed it now
>>
>>34975038
>* "Let her keep it, it looks cute on her"
We've asked for items plenty of times.

I think we should keep the blade for later. either for lyann or until the dward acquires two cards to enchant it with.

>hold off on selling the blade until it's enchanted.

At which point we can decide if we want to buy it from the group.

>>34975024
>Also, you spent them on your Father.
I think that's been retconned, since he has all his bonus points.
>>
>>34975099
Actually, we need a sword for Lyann to use as a Mamluk once she has enough levels in Dancer. We should keep the sword, sell the wand/have Miyaan use it.

Keep the Monster Juice, though.
>>
>>34975038
I see. Fits really, martial arts instructors tend to favor "fresh" students over ones already practiced in an art somehow as the fresh ones have no habits, thus no bad habits to "unlearn" or bad muscle memory to train out of them.

And let the cat girl keep it. It looks cute, and isn't worth too terribly much. We nice little boy, who may or may not have a soft spot for fluffy tails and ears.
>>
>>34975038

>* "Let her keep it, it looks cute on her"
>>
>>34975129
It's alot of profit. Let's...do >>34975117. We have alot of funds ourselves, from our other ventures. We can buy it on our own if we need to.

When asked why, just say it's a 'welcome home' gift for when dad gets back.
>>
The more we keep the more we have to compensate the group.

If we let the catgirl keep the ornament, then she has to compensate us for a third of it's value. We'll also be getting a third of the proceeds from the sale of the wand and monster juice. Which should cover a significant portion of the swords worth.

Especially since we already own a third of the sword and should be getting a 33% discount on the 200g.

We have no current plans for a monster pet, and they would take time to raise. meanwhile, we already have a loyal sister, who we plan to change to a combat class who has no weapon.
>>
>>34975231
That seems fair. And for child terminology: "We all worked to get it, so the others should get something for the hard work...she could buy it from the group, for a third off of the price maybe?"

Then, once we set the precedent, pull that same stunt on the sword.
>>
"Let her keep it, she looks cute with it."
"..."
"Thank you Eldric! See? see? he says it looks nyace, nya!" -Miiyau holds it over her head with both hands
"Fine, fine. I want to put the rest up for auction, tho."
"The sword is easily worth twice as much as everything else put together. Could we make it better by holding on until we enchant it?"
"I think that's smyart, nya!"
"Sure. Do you have any traits in mind, should I try and check the auction house for any specific cards? just your good common sense [Man Eating Plant] card for healing per blow?"
"You're the veteran, what do you think?"
"A [Man Eating Plant] and a [Ghost] card would raise its price nicely. Would be worth about six times as much with just 20g worth of investment, but those don't come up often. Or rather, they're bought right away."
"There's no rush, we can wait. Oh, can I keep the monster juice? I've always wanted a pet"
"Bah, we are barely selling any of this, then? just the wand? and can't you use it, don't you want to?"
"Honestly I prefer my own wand."
"Uhmm alright. But I'm taking that fancy hairpin and the juice off your shares on the sword"
"Of course, nya!"

Speak for yourself. We have knight, and I intend to take a dragonling and make it our mount. We can give it a cursed object to age it quickly, (mature in years, not centuries) then remove it at Mature, so we can fly around and shit.

Exactly. In addition to the fast aging, we can cause its intelligence, strength, and magical abilities to age at a 2-to-1 normal rate for how much it's aging, if we work it right.

Just where do you intend to find a dragonling until we're out on our quest and don't have time to spend years raising it?

Even if there's one in the slave markets, they already have their own methods of controling them. Assuming they sell monsters at all. Or that dragons are thing in the setting when we've heard nothing about them.

That is by no means guarenteed. At least the sword would have had a certain future use.

Can anyone wear cursed items, or only slaves? Can they be removed if you place it on yourself?

I'm thinking of two linked items that are cursed but prevent aging placed on eldric by lyann and on lyann by eric.

It doesn't have to be a death curse? it can be something like 'cant lie to eachother' or 'must be within a certain distance'

Also getting some cheap equipment that is nontheless very effective using curse-enchantments. Maybe manacles(unattached to chain) or jewelry with things like endure elements and regeneration.

Because if someone's being linked to another person via deathcurse then there should be regeneration involved.

You convince your friends that you can go take a look ahead using magic, and turn on your ranger to stealth ahead.

"You know we can still see you, right?"
"It's only meant to work on foes"
"Alright?"

You sneak ahead carefully, and turn left a few times until you see some "lvl 13 Metalknight" on a room.

Three of them, to be exact.

They look like massive suits of armor, tho the hoods of the helmets are up and show that noone is inside.

Having taken a look at this floor's enemy, you head back to your friends by turning right on every corner.

"Uhmm.. I've seen those in other dungeons. They're really strong against earth, but weak to fire. That's good for you, right?"
"It should be good, yes. Let's go back for today, tho. I already used a lot of magic today."
"Yes, that sounds fine."

Your drwarf friend opens the gate and takes you all back to the Adventurer's Guildhouse.

After a few minutes, you bid your friends farewell until the day after tomorrow, and head over to the university.

Looking for Okaba, you head on over to his room in the university's dormitories.

You are sort of surprised to find Aura cleaning his room, but it also seems sort of natural...

She nods, and puts on shoes before going out with you.

"Miss Aura, what's your country like?"
"Ah... you could just call me Aura, young master. We have different status, after all" ~she says with a smile as she thinks about your question~ "Uhmm... well, succubi are a sort of monster. Or we are seen that way, anyway. I've read that we are not the type to band together as clans or tribes, so we don't really have lands of our own, tho we prefer the warmer climates down south. Or do you want to hear about Master Okaba's land?"
"Ah, yes please"
"Oooh, HĂŞven is a very prosperous country. It lies in a region full of tall mountains that stand like islands over seas of jungle. The natives are either winged nobles or wingless commoners. Since the terrain it's so hard to navigate, only the nobles can travel freely. It's not that commoners are forbidden travel, tho! it's just too dangerous, you know?"
"How can it be a prosperous country if you can't travel on it?"
"Ah, you can travel, it is just dangerous."
"How do goods get from a place to another, then?"
"Ah, I see what you mean. Well, most cities are self sufficient and relatively close to one another in the inner region of the country. The jungle is vast, but mostly uninhabited. The cities are close enough that well armed caravans can make the trip without much hassle. Would you like to ask about something else?"

She waves at the other students as she walks with you. The male students all seem happy to see her as she walks out of the dormitories with you.

It would be forced, seeing as we'd be a 29-year old playing at being a 9-year old.
And it's not going to do us any favors and in fact, would work against us as president of the chess club and in getting access to the advanced alchemical and enchanting materials and facilities.

In fact, since you're working against showing us as being mature enough to be trusted with advanced access to the labs, and the things we could do in them, I'd say you're the one with no sense of adventure. You sacrifice accomplishment for cheap amusement.
>>
>>34976872
It's not chucklefuckery, it's taking what we've been playing as (a meek, fairly mature, intelligent young boy) and showing a bit of depth to it.

As for working against the labs, I think the dungeon diving is doing more damage than anything else. We're sneaking out to use magic for violence at age 8, lying and doing whatever else to make it happen.

"Ah... can you give us a minute, Eldric? we just need to pour the mana into the enchantment circle and then we'll be done for today."
"Sure."

Okaba and the dwarf pool their mana into the circle.
Like with the candle, you can see the circle's ink glow with magic and get "sucked in" by the chair, climbing up its legs at high speed as if it was being sucked through a hole on top of the chair.

"And now, progress!" ~Okaba leans back as if to sit, and the chair runs over to get in position
"I still think it's stupid"
"It is, but now we can try and enchant a shield to have it get in the way of harm. Would you like that, my friend?"
"Uh... sure. I just think there's too many factors to worry about."
"Are you in a hurry?"
"No"
"Then there's no problem, right?"

The dwarf sighs and gives up, going over to the scroll racks.

Okaba turns towardas you.

"Well, you do not think you are the first person to ever want his very own dragon, do you Eldric?"
"I suppose no, but I got this bottle of juice..."
"Dragons are very proud creatures, and they are used to being in charge of everything they see. In the past, attempts to tame them have always ended badly."

You look quite dejected, so he supports a hand on your shoulder and smiles as he talks to you.

"We could still train you a drake or a gryphon. When you are a bit older, of course."
"It's not the same..."
"I know, and it is good to aim as high as you can. That way even if you fall short of your goal, you tend to end up much higher than others thought possible."

He stands up, and keeps talking to you while reaching for a book in his pocket

"This is my latest journal. Aura is in charge of copying it every night, so there should be a copy in my room. Do you want to read this one?"
"Thanks"

We've never been meek, and how can the dungeon diving be harming our chances for advanced access when no one has found out about it, and it's pushed our leveling?

Two words, baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate if ya want to get technical. That shit is hella useful and it has next to zero hazards attached to it. It'll improve people's lives immediately with no guilt and a hell of a profit for us. We need to get to making that shit ASAP.

If we act normal, then they'll never give it to us because that's power that wouldn't be given to an 8-year old anyway.
We have to demonstrate why we're exceptional, why we're better than normal, and why we deserve that power.
>>
>>34977039
It's power that won't be given to an 8-year old boy. We might be able to take it, but we'll lose any friends and be playing an 8 year old murderhobo.
>>
>>34977018
>We might not be able to do it at our age.
This is what self study is for.

Also, acting normal means people tend to hold us to normal standards. Which would be a step back.

Let's keep up the child prodigy act. As long as we keep obeying authority figures, they'll trust us not to get out of hand.
>>
>>34976945
>* Ask more about enchantment and cursed items

ask about the kind of things you can do with this. What kind of curses and enchantments has he linked?
>>
>>34977050
Explain why we would lose any friends.
Elli has gotten over her fear of Eldric, Lyann doesn't show any reservations about Eldric's maturity or drive for power and in fact wants to help him achieve it.
Mom is worried that we're not taking proper safeguards, not that we're reaching for such power, which is a valid concern and in fact shows that we need to start acting even more mature.
Finally, all of the other students we've made friends with have become our friends BECAUSE we're mature and don't act like a kid.

Nothing you say is backed up by what's happened so far.
>>
>>34977050
Fuck power, we're basically Thomas Edison and Nicola Tesla rolled into one. Money man, we are gonna make sooooooo much money.

Don't ya know the golden rule? He who has the gold makes the rules. Be patient, we'll be running this place soon enough, just not till we're of age.
>>
>>34977126
We still need access to better facilities and resources, and don't forget that this IS a standard RPG setting so some Evil Empires won't be swayed by economic sanctions.
>>
>>34977070
You mean obeying them by going on possibly illegal dungeon raids?

>>34977117
Elli's fear can come back, Lyann might be loya, Mom seems like that kind of tragic hero that must put down her own son if it helps everyone.

Bottom line is I don't want to play a murderhobo.

>>34977126
This I can accept, but even then I want there to be a little fun had. Maybe grow into a Tony Stark pose. Also, what we do when we come of age doesn't bother me. It's playing the "Weird Kid Who Never Has Fun" that gets to me.
>>
>>34977174
They're Evil Empires.

We'll just bribe the bureaucrats in the Empire and make any war effort slow as all shit.
>>
>>34977174
So? Their army doesn't work for free. Make em' a better offer. Come to the light side, we have gold.

>>34977183
Of course. I'd have all kinds of fun if I was a kid again. Sucks that people don't take ya seriously and all, but you can get away with so many shenanigains and nobody will think any less of you. People should enjoy their opportunities.

>>34977195
That too. Money, the greatest superpower.

I was referring to magical experimentation.

Also, she never said not to, so it isn't disobedience.
>>

Except, they do, depending on the Empire.
Money is powerful but not all-powerful in a setting where killing animals doesn't leave corpses behind and they disappear into clouds of smoke and loot.

"Well, it depends on what you want to enchant, and what for."
"I read that Aura's collar stops aging."
"Ah, yes. It does. But succubi don't physically age past a certain point anyway. It was more of..."
"Seeing if you could do it, like the chair?"
"Right. Anyway, it takes dozens of time more mana to power a regular enchantment than if you borrow from a curse to do the same. It is cheaper, too, but people won't usually want cursed items no matter how small the curse may be. You can't even take them off unless you go to a temple, which means you can't make conveniently cursed daily use items"
"So a cursed sword...?"
"Right, you couldn't let it go once you pick it up."
"I see. But jewelry?"
"Now you see. Noone will bat an eye at a lady keeping her bracelet on herself, right?"
"So I can't make a cursed armor?"

"Well, since we just finished this experiment I think I'll be free while designing safeguards and requisites for our next project, when we have it. I see no reason it can't be a chess board."
"More useless luxury." ~grumbles the dwarf from the table nearby as he reads some scrolls

"Let's meet in three days?"
"Uhm. Alright, The eastern gardens are alright with you? there are some stone benches we could use"
"Alright, I will let the others know. Oh, about curses and enchantments, what about an item to make someone age a little faster, but growing smarter and stronger than normal?"
"I... think it would be possible, but I can already think of several moral issues with such a thing. Slavers would love to fast-raise and fast-breed children with such a thing. And about the smart bit... I don't think you can help much in that sense. You could help define their physical traits, so strength, endurance, beauty... those would probably be doable."
"Thanks, you gave me a lot to think about. I'll see you in three days."
"Have a good day."

You leave the laboratory and start walking, when you suddely hear a tap tup tap toip tap sound. Looking behind you, the chair is running off into another lab, kicking the door down and running in.

Okaba's latest journal is about including "conditions" into enchantments, such as "expand when over X temperature (he used it on a parasol) and close when under X temperature",

Then he moved upwards to the chair you saw today, which included "Move the legs on the right forth when the left ones go back" and the reverse instructions to make the chair "walk", albeit clumsily.

From his notes, it seems southern enchanting is quite different from the way it is done in the north.

You live in the north lands. This means that by learning to enchant like Okaba does, you may later have troubles learning to enchant the way your countrymen do. Albeit the opposite is also true.

You feel you could probably enchant the jar to refill itself with apple juice now, but it would probably cost a fair chunk of mana (80MP) to do so.

Your mom asked you not to practice enchanting in the house until she sets you up a platform for it outside.

"I want to scold you for doing something to yourself that could have been dangerous... yes, I think I'm going to. Son, I told you I was going to research about it, right? you could have waited for me to be done with it first. If something happened to you, I think I'd die."
"Yes mom. I'm sorry."

Your mom sighs, smiles, and kisses your forehead

"Go have a bath, and we'll discuss about it over dinner, alright?"
"Alright"

It had been a while since Elli joined you in the bath. You may need a bigger tub, as fun as having to squeeze in with her and Lyann is

A bit later, over dinner, your mom asks you to assign half to her intelligence, and half to her wisdom. Because she feels she'll need both to raise you, Lyann and Athena properly.

That night, she makes sure you and Lyann are properly cuddled up under the blankets, smooches your forehead, and covers your magical glowing candle with a metal glass.

In the morning, you find that Lyann is already up, practicing her jump-and-spin dance step, her large shirt (she got it from mom) floating up and then descending softly as she spins in a graceful manner.

It may be a good idea to get her proper, newer sleepwear soon. And maybe check the market or the auction house for dancer's silks.

"Morning"
"Kyaa!" ~you catch her by surprise and she lands wrong.

A healing spell on her ankle later, the both of you dress up (she helps you) and go downstairs for breakfast.

School is alright. In magic safety they talk about going by steps and letting experience with a spell accumulate before trying something new.

During lunch, you spot Honoria in the mess hall, so you sit with her and talk about classes for a bit. As usual, the dwarven princess has her hair neatly braided in front of her, so at a quick glance, it looks as if she had a beard as well.

She tells you that Durian, Dulin and herself are going to go and check the nomad tribe that just arrived to the outskirts of the city for news and exotic goods from the far east. She invites you to tag along together with Lyann

You sent the letter just 2 days ago. Even in the modern world it would take a few weeks for it to get there

That reminds me of this time I sent a xmas card to some friends on the US as early as September and it still got there on April. Man fuck the mail
***

You explain to Honoria that you want to bring a friend so you'll need to go home first, thus you will hopefully meet her there.

She nods, and you enjoy lunch together. Aura greets both of you as she passes by with two plates. She'd join you for lunch, but Okaba is reading in his room so she is taking his lunch to him.

"What about going to see the nomads with us?"
"Master is not the type, but I will try and convince him."

That evening after school, you talk to Elli and she agrees as long as Lyann stays home with Athena. She says a nomad campsite it's not a festival. Unless it is, but she has neard nothing of the sort.

The nomads are camping outside the walls, so you need to exit the city.

There are hundreds of tents, and dozens of wagons, but it looks like only the nearest, brightest tents are for visitors.

The nomads are humans, albeit you see a couple of half elves going around, as well. Their clothes seem light, but there is an abundance of thick if small fur pants here and there.

Elli explains to you that this tribe circuits between here and the icelands, so their clothes are thick and warm. These are basically their winter lands, where the heat lets them dress as light as they want.

You don't feel particularly warm right now, but everything is about perspective, after all.

They have several shows going on, with music and quick drums resounding from some of the biggest tents. There are also plenty of goods to buy, from simple but sturdy weapons and leather armors to a mammoth calf they brought with them from the northern icelands.

You remember seeing an elephant in your previous life, once. This "baby" is larger than that.

Any comments on the lyann pics so far? any you feel like saying "that one!" about?
***

You explain to Elli that you'd want a dancer's outfit for Lyann. She replies that a dancer's job is to lure the eye and distract the opponent, that is how their magic works, so you should keep that in mind.

Also, the tribes of every region have different dancing traditions. The dancers from the northern tribes tend to wear fake monster heads and thick (fake) furs to keep warm, even as they jump and spin to shows flash of skin and deliberatedly sensual movements to make up for their lack of exposure, while the desert tribes tend to use metallic decorations such as necklaces, cuffs, chains and bells, with just a silk scarf or gown over the dancer's bodies.

"What about Elli's tribe?"
"Paint and long hair. We were a coastal tribe. Furs, metals, silk... those do not last very long. If you want. I could make some paint and teach Lyann to dance the way we did. Oh, you should have options. Let's go into one of the tents, surely they have a show!"

Elli pays a few coins to go in with you, and you both watch the show.

Two male dancers are showing off in the middle of the tent. They are wearing fake sabertooth heads (they look quite real to you) and the furs cover them from their from their masks to about half way down their stomachs.

They make pouncing, jumping and stomping movements.

Despite their exposure, it doesn't looks like anyone minds.

Even Elli seems to be just looking at the dance with a completely critical eye.

Given her current age, I could see her looking like Kyoko at the moment. Not sure how she'll fill out as she ages though.
>>

There's other ways to draw the eye than exposure.

Movement, clashing, suddenly changing colors, even quick flashes. An outfit that twirls, spins, and flashes with possibly clashing colors can work just fine.

I support Kyoko an pyjamas too
>>
>>34980399
When a shapely woman wearing a female deer's mask joins in, things take a more sensual turn as she quick-steps, dodges and fless the chasing tigers.

Her "outfit" is pretty much the same as those of the males, and with the outlook of your previous world, you can't help but to think that Elli shouldn't have brought a child as young as you into the tent, but when the show ends everyone simply claps and leaves in a good mood after throwing copper and silver coins into the plate the dancers pass around

Indeed, it is a different world

"Did you enjoy it?" ~Asks your petite elf maid
"Ah.. yes. Does Elli dance like that, too?"
"No, my tribe did a more relaxed show. A lot of swaying, and not nearly as much jumping."

You get an image from an Eastern island dancr back on good old Earth. It is probably something like that

"Still, there are, of course, hundreds of dancing traditions." ~adds Okaba from a few feet away

Okaba is wearing a rich orange silk suit with sandals. Aura is wearing her full armor, shield and sword on her back.

She is also holding a meat stick in each hand, and is happily chewing at a bite.

"Th- slhavhe dhnzrs frhm Hhvhn are mush bedder" -she says with her mouth full of meat, cheese and fruit.
"Aura, swallow first, talk later."
"Shrry, Mhster"

You greet the prince and his bodyguard. Albeit Aura looks more like a child in a carnival than a proper guard right now.

You walk around with Okaba and Aura.

The bodyguard chokes a little with her snacks, and Okaba has to gently pat her back.

She doesn't looks very much like a bodyguard at all?

What bodyguard? she's clearly a girl on a date.

That armor, shielf and sword are for nothing. If Okaba paid anything for his bodyguard, he should get his money back.

According to Aura, the dancers in HĂŞven wear long enchanted silks that insinuate while never actually revealing. It doesn't matters if they are cartwheeling, doing a jump, spinning on midair or laying spread on the floor, the silk always falls and floats exactly the right away to tease and lure.

Okaba chastises her gently for spoiling the mystery of it.

You suppose it must be much like stage fighting, a secret that everyone knows but chooses to ignore.

* Ask Okaba to enchant a dancer's silk for Lyann and Elli
* Give the money to Elli and let her make the paint
* Other

Walking around with Okaba and Aura, you look around at the goods the nomads are carrying.

There's an interesting spear made out of a dragon's fang. Looking at it through your ring tells you that it adds +5% chance to critical hits, and causes bleeding wounds on every critical.

This means a 10% critical chance per attack, instead of the normal 5%.

It also has 3 empty slots, and does a base 25 damage. It is worth 75g

Well, their battle continuity is useful. Being able to retreat from boss fights, which typically always give that pesky "you cannot escape!" message, Dont wanna turn into a treasure chest for someone to find

Okaba says he'll be happy to, once he's done thinking about the chess set. You should get the silk yourself so you can pick colors and what not.

You ask him about the way the north enchants things, and he mentions the cars.

That's right, the cards count as enchanting, right? and it doesn't cost anything more than 4MP-

He considers it a very unreliable method, but it's very interested in the flexibility that gives you being able to cherry pick the abilities you want in any one weapon.

You decide to pass on the cards for now. You are walking next to Elli when you notice a dark skinned elf girl in a simple short dress, calling out for people to try her melons.

Yes, it is a fruit store. She smiles when she sees you and gives you a sample. It is very fresh and tasty.

You get a couple of the elfgirl's melons to take them home.

Elli has no trouble storing them in her Item Box

When you get home, you find Lyann and Athena are napping together.

It's cute. It's definitively a cute scene. This world needs cameras to preserve moments like this

Elli goes and slices the melons in the kitchen while you lean in to wake up the girl.

When she comes back to the bedroom, you are sleeping with Lyann and Athena, so she leans in to wake you up.

When your mom gets home later, she finds all of you sleeping together. She leans in to at least wake up Elli so she can go to her bed.

The following morning, you wake up to a very crowded bed full of beauties.

You ask Elli to prepare the pain but wait until you have the silks ready.

Since Okaba told you he wanted to do your chess set first, you have to wait a month before he gets around to it.

The way he enchants the set, the pieces "stand" and walk ahead when you call the moves. Calling an illegal move however causes it to spin in place, however. He says he can fix that after he's done with the silk, which should be just a few days.

You work with Okaba into the chess set over the next few weeks.

The chess club grows a little as dwarves see the princess play it with her friends in the garden. Soon nine more dwarves join up.

It somehow becomes a very fashionable thing for young dwarves to play, and they begin asking you for more expensive sets made of precious and semi precious materials.

While you are talking with Okaba about your home, he tells you that it is always greener in the other side of the fence.

"Your nobles dont sound that bad. Bacl home. my people have the custom of having slave warriors party up with their children and send them into dungeons to raise their children's levels."
"Wait, that works!?"
"Sadly."

Well, its a party, so if there is no minimal distance, it should work.

"This is for your slavegirls, right?"
"One is a house servant, not a slave. And I dont think of them like that."
"What do you mean?"
"I think of her as my friend, if not my sister."
"But you own her, right?"
"Technically."
"Do you want a light curse on the silks? I could give it some nice defensive properties if we added just a tiny curse"
"...she'd have to wear it all the time unless she took it off at a temple, right?"

"Well, let me know when you have a set you want me to enchant for you."
"I will, thanks."

Finally, the pieces simply ignore any wrong commands.
The enchantment can also be turned on or off.
It costs a total of 40MP to enchant each piece. If you look at it from the viewpoint of 1MP = !silver coin, that means that the cost jumps up by 1 g 280s for a fully enchanted set.

You make another 55g by selling soaps and (normal) chess sets to and through the chess club.
You get 220g through Grummir selling enchanted weapons with no failure chance.

Honoria wants you to make her a set of crystal and a,ber for his father. Of course, it is a gift for a king, so she wants a board of the same materials. enchanted, if possible.

"Alright."

Going around town, you meet with the dark skinned fruit elf (it's how you think of her right now) selling oranges and apples.

She thinks you are quite cute, and gives you some apple slices. You buy a few sweet apples from her.

Instead, operation Mood Killer! We shall go up and innocently ask her what is happening and in general just kill the mood, handily preventing a date but for innocent child reasons. We're too young to be thinking of her like she's our girlfriend or harem member.
>>
>>34984183
Forgot to add, yes I know we're actually an adult, but we must maintain the cover that we're a prodigy, not an adult in the body of a child.

That evevening, you talk with Lyann during a training break.

"Lyann, Okaba told me something nice. Well, mean... something interesting. Yes, it was something interesting."

You tell her about how the nobles have slave warriors party with noble children, and then send them into dungeons to strenghten the children.

"Of course, I was thinking about going the other way." ~you make a gesture by pointing in one direction with one hand, and then in the opposite direction with another hand~ "I thought I could party with you next time I go into the dungeon"
"How does that work?"
"Well, you see, when you kill monsters, you become stronger. If we are in a party, you will receive a bit of that strength, too."
"Mast- uhmm.. you think I'm weak?"
"...I think everyone can grow stronger, and I don't want you to get hurt in the process"
"I'm being a burden, aren't I?" ~she looks quite upset about it
"No! In fact I'm sure you could go into the school dungeon with me when we move a grade. You will be very useful! I just thought that anyone would like to become stronger with little effort."
"Well... I will do whatever you think it's best."
"Alright."

That is true. Being obviously hostile and saying stuff like "I don't like you", or "You'll take her away", etc. works, and even if they ask for a logical reason we can always counter with an emotional one.

This thread runs on humour and clichés. You probably dont have the required nerd knowledge required to know the Monster Musume manga, where the image is from. Don't worry so much about it. Hell, the dwarves races are FORTRESS and Hill. The elves come in Vanilla, Caramel and Chocolate. I try to insert as many injokes as possible into everything. We have a Fremen and Feydakin class, too!

Noone got the "jump that wall if you are so great" reference either, and I think im the only one that gets an anon's Fate/Stay Night jokes

As it turns out, our new neighbor is suspiciously nice to us.

He gives us a pat on the head when he sees us, and calls us champ.

He gets along well with mom and Elli.

He sometimes watches from the window of his house, across the street, when we are practicing magic in the garden.

He even fixed out garden's street door, driving new wooden posts into the ground to replace a pair that had rotten away, and even painted the fence afterwards, the suspicious bastard!

Elli and mom refer to him as "Danren", calling him by name.

You don't like it, you don't like it at all.

You like it even less when they talk well of him.

As for the dark skinned fruit elf, she tells you her name is Kalkah. She is the property of the fruit shop.

The owner thought, correctly, that having a pretty girl advertise her goods on the street would raise sales. The owner is an elderly lady.

Shit this ain't good, sounds like he's actually a shotacon. Oh well, if he tries to molest us I say lightning to the face! We can do lightning right? If not, I vote we get lightning. Very powerful, very useful for killing things. Besides, who hasn't wanted to channel Palpatine as your enemy screams in agony as you laugh your ass off?

She isin't hobbled, and you don't see a collar on her neck.

Seems she's well treated.

You are talking with her when Danren shows up, wearing clear blue and white street clothes. They're not cheap, but neither are they luxurious, either.

"Hey champ! how are you doing?" ~he pats you on the head~ "Does your mom knows you are this far out from home?"

He greets Kalkah and flirts with her, too!

"So, what are you up to, champ?"
"Ah, I'm busy. I'm trying to find some place where they sell ambar."
"Oh, I am very familiar with the marketplace. Do you want me to help you?" ~Kalkah offers sweetly~ "I'd have to sell my fruits along the way, however."
"Uhmm? that's all? how much for the whole basket?" ~Danren buys Kalkah's fruits, and bids you adieu

Im grudgingly saying 'innocent until proven guilty' but if he tries anything, we'll fuck him up. Also, food for though, as an intel mission we can do something so that we have to party up. That way we can look at his stats and 'fix' things that may be a problem. I have a feeling he may have training in the Thief tree.

Um dude, we have no evidence of foul play and murders are a bitch to cover up. Seriously, there's the body, witnesses, people starting to ask questions, and god help you if they contact a private investigator or worse, a consulting detective. Let us not kill people just because they seem to flirt with anything human shaped.

You walk through the marketplace with the caramel elf girl.

Like she said, she is quite familiar with the marketplace, and the stand salesmen seem to like her.

She takes us to a less transited sector of the market. There are less people on the streets, and the shops look less elegant.

The store handles magical reagents.

You see chalk made from all sorts of ecotiv materials. The owner knows Kalkah and says that if we are her friend, he will give us a discount whenever we return.

As you head back, you pass by a smithy with Kalkah, and notice a number of shackles, chains, horseshoes, cuffs, and tools hanging from the front of the shop.

Remembering you told Okaba that you would buy the set of cuffs for him to enchant, you take a look inside.

Kalkah seems quite nervous to be there.

"Good evenyan, nya!" ~a familiar voice greets you

You and Miiyau stare at eachother over the counter for a few minutes.

"Grummyar, come out front, we got visitors!"
"What is it now... oh hey, how are you doing, eldric. Didin't expect to see you until tomorrow."

It is Grummir and Miiyau's smithy.
