You arrive at the port city of Reboldeux.

The many brick and wood houses you could see from the ship were all painted white, with red brick roofs, but once you set foot on the eastern continent you see that the town has developed to be a bit more colourful past its front. Outside of the docks, the streets are hardly wide enough to let more than one cart or carriage pass at the same time, and you don't see any heading anywhere but between the docks and straight outside the eastern gates; it's mostly a pedestrian city with buildings of different heights and types lining every street.

The ground is packed earth, with no actual paving except near the Duke's Palace where most of the administrative buildings are, where you can find cobblestone on the main plaza, with a large, round fountain in the shape of a man with a spyglass looking at the distance and riding three dolphins that spray fresh, drinkable water. The nearby streets are also made of cobblestones, mostly gray but some with a brown-red tint.

People of all sorts busily walk by and stalls, both impromptu and permanent, are present almost everywhere, with many shops having counters that face directly towards the streets. Geometrical and floral pattern frescoes decorate the second stories of some buildings, be them private houses or businesses, and sometimes the urban canopy is covered in clothes hung out to dry.

You feel the tropical weather a lot more now that you're in a town, which you feel is much more populated than usual, most likely due to the constant influx of new settlers, merchants and other people hoping to take advantage of the royally sponsored Reconquista. The scent of saltwater is fortunately stronger than that of sweat, and if you pass in front of a bakery it gets considerably better, but there is a lot of people regardless, and sweating is a thing in this hot, humid weather.

This means people dress rather lightly here, and usually in bright colours too.

Nice to see you again OP.
>>
You are Lillith, a 5 foot 10 woman with a body you would confidently call voluptous, tinged red skin, small horns that adorn your head and a long, leathery tale that ends in a heart, or the seed of spades, depending on who you ask. All signs of a demonic descent, including certain surprises in your pants, though having never met your parents you have no idea who you inherited such qualities from: not even whether you're a first generation tiefling or not.

You have arrived in the new world to start over with your life and those of your friends: Lucas, Zillis, Reiram and Mires. Also Tahenohan, a half-elf necromancer who you met on the ship that brought you here, the Argent Skimmer, which you found out was actually a caravel, not a corvette.

You have no money, no place to stay, don't know anyone here, but Tahenohan has plenty of stuff to sell to make a coin in case of emergency, and none of you came here to slack off. The idea is to help your new half-elf friend set up shop and help her earn money. You'd be working for her, in short, but you have no idea what kind of shop a necromancer could legally open.

"So what now?", Lucas asks now that you're all disembarked and gathering your ideas and plans at the dock. There's quite a crowd and it would be easy to get lost if you didn't have Reiram around. He's so big you can pretty much just gather around him as an emergency measure. He's always so handy for this kind of things.

But the question is quite valid and remains: what now?

>See to Tahenohan opening a shop
>Find a place to stay for the night
>Try and gather useful information in town
>Look for daily work
>Ask the captain of the Argent Skimmer for advice
>Ask Tahenohan for advice

>>34976965
Well no real evidence that's demon-related though, of course, it probably is. But still.
>>
You find yourself a bit stumped. Lucas was usually the leader type, but due to you lot being down on your luck lately and Zillis learning she was pregnant with his child he's become a lot less active and you took over that role for him. Still, it's tough to have answers ready for everyone all the time.

"Let's try asking the captain", you suggest, "He might suggest us a place to stay, too".

Your search is very quick as you find the captain not far from his ship, overseeing the unloading of all the cargo he was carrying with the satisfied look of a man who is about to earn a lot of money. You can't quite put an age on him, but the brightness of his brown beard suggests he can't be that much older than 40 at worst. You've found that sailors usually don't shave too close to the face until they disembark, it probably has something to do with the constant rocking of the ship while you hold a razor close to your throat, but this man just prefers to keep his facial hair puffy.

You explain your situation to him, and he ponders for a moment, nodding as he looks at you. He did find enough time to put a bit of brown eyeshadow, you guess he's going to meet some authorities later and trying to look good.

"If you want to open a business, you should head to the Chamber of commerce", he explains, "It's in the main plaza, can't miss it. There was a merchant between the passengers, just ask if you can follow him. You can't miss him: tall, brightly coloured clothes, turban, goes by the name of Nasir", he explains.

"As for lodging, you can stay at The Hairy Mermaid", he chuckles, "It's not that far from here. Take the promenade and follow the coastline until you see the sign. You can't miss it".

>Look for this Nasir fellow

Tieflings are people who had a demon in their bloodline. Demon blood is a lot thinner than elven blood and hardly passes first generation, the implications of having it are... Odd.

No two tieflings are the same, unless they have the same parents, and even then you're not sure (not many cases to study). The implications of being a tiefling are mostly aestethical with sometimes practical functions: your horns, your leathery tail (it's relatively strong, though you can't pull much weight with that alone), you think some lucky fellows have wings.

Some tieflings also inherit other powers. Depends on their parents, you suppose. You don't think you have any. You're probably a bit stronger than the average woman? But then again you're bigger than the average woman so your demonic heritage probably has nothing to do with it.

Your dick may or may not be a consequence of your demonic descent. It's just a normal dick. Someone told you it doesn't take being a tiefling to be a woman born with one, it's just extremely rare but not unheard of. Not a surprise considering Ether mutations exist, and they're not magic-user exclusive (though very rare).
>>
>>34977060
Tahenohan didn't even know the name of the town she was heading to, you don't suppose she has plans for lodging. You'd be surprised at anyone with elven blood functioning in civil society, actually.

You thank the captain and turn to your friends, who were watching from really just a few steps of distance.

"The captain said we should check The Hairy Mermaid for lodging".

"The Hairy Mermaid?", the name of the inn earns some raised eyebrows. Even Mires manages to focus her attention om something (you) for longer than a few seconds. "Hairy how?", she even asks.

"I have no idea", you reply, "But how about you go and find out? I'll go with Tahenohan to the Chamber of commerce and see if they can help us set her shop up".

"Can you find it?", Zillis looks a little worried as she looks at the large amount of human traffic all over the place, "This place is huge. It's even more packed than Izulde".

"I'll have Nasir help out. It's the merchant that was aboard the ship, I saw him a few times on deck, I'm sure he'll help out", you reassure her, which seems to work.

"We still have no money", Lucas points out, "Even if they have rooms, how are we going to pay? I don't think it's legal to sleep on the streets. Or safe. Not with this much people around".

He does have a point...

>Ask Tahenohan if she can lend you any money

>Ask the captain for advice
>Look for Nasir and ask him advice on the matter

It was part of chargen and it's staying. You were born like that and that's it. What you decide to do with this situation is entirely up to you.

You decide to bother the captain again, excusing yourself for the constant nagging, but he seems rather content with the company. After all, he did allow you to embark for free, so he has to be a rather helpful guy all considered.

"I'm sure The Hairy Mermaid has need for barmaids and other helpers, especially in the kitchen and for cleaning. Reboldeux is seeing more people than ever since the Reconquista", he smiles as he takes a good look at the very busy dock, brimming with potential gains, "Just ask them. I don't think they'll refuse a barmaid like you, they'd be crazy to".

He does have a point, even if it's not very modest to admit it.

"By the way", he then looks behimd your shoulders and at Reiram, "That friend of yours is pretty big. Can he lift?"

"He can lift all right", you assure him.

"I just have a bit of spare coin for you if he can help me unload my ship. It'll take a while, but by the time he's done you'll have enough for one night there. How about that?".

You were actually thinking of working to pay for your rooms, but nothing forbids you from doing both. And honestly, Reiram would be a poor barmaid.

>>
You turn around, "Reiram, would you be okay with helping the captain unload his goods?".

"Yep", the content smile on his face shows how much he likes to be of help. He is a man of few words but rarely shrinks on a deed. He usually does if it involves violence. He's very averse to it. Still, you don't think the crates on the ship need punching, just lifting and carrying should be fine.

"Thanks for the offer captain, he's yours for the day", and he gives a satisfied chuckle, "Sure, come back in the evening to fetch him back. He'll have a bit of coin for your trouble".

"By the way", you continue while you still have his attention, "Do you know of other job opportunities?".

"Afraid not", he admits, "I don't stay here for long, I'm sure there is but you'd have to ask around. Still, if I may suggest, it's best to get what you're sure you can have right now and look when you have the luxury of time. And I'm not just speaking in my personal interest", he winks with a chuckle.

You suppose that, in fact, the Chamber of Commerce business might take a while. Bureaucracy has never been famous for being fast, unless you can somehow grease the gears in your favours, but you're somewhat new to this line of business. The worst thing is: you suspect Tahenohan is as well. After all, she lived out of adventuring and tomb raiding in her past, which isn't really an option for you right now.

You notice that Nasir, the merchant travelling on your ship, is disembarking down of the ship on a small caravan pulled by a pair of donkeys. It seems to be some sort of moving shop.

You're definitely going to inform your friends of your plans next and ask everyone but Reiram to go to The Hairy Mermaid and see if they can find rooms and possibly some jobs. And your plans right now are...

>Go to the Chamber of Commerce with Nasir (hoping he's heading there)

You don't have much in the way of skills. It's not like you can't do anything, but you come from a poor, desolate area of the kingdom of Rune. None of you has anything past basic schooling and the skills you picked up were mostly related to simple trades or unskilled work.

For example, Reiram is a good labourer, though it's mostly thanks to his physique and not because he has any particular skill. Zillis is more patient and focused than anyone else in your group. Mires is creative and has great stamina, but she has the attention span of a harpy. Lucas is confident and eager to prove himself, though he's calmed down considerably ever since he learned he's going to be a father.

As for yourself, you think you're pretty good at reading people and dealing with them. You can do manual work too and can learn a new craft if you have someone to teach you, the missionaries that took care of your schooling and raised you as a child always told you you have a bright mind.

You're also a cleric of Ishtar, thought that's probably not a marketable skill. Not just because most people don't know who Isthar is, but because it's a deity usually related to monsters and few people would be pleased to know you hear voices in your heads and receive visits in your dreams.

Which told you to come to the Shadow Marches, where you are. This gives you a palpable feeling of satisfaction, you're sure you'll receive an interesting visit tonight in your dreams.
>>
>>34977655
Hmmm, guess we should look for a church to Ishtar then.
>>
>>34977696
There isn't. Ishtar is a goddess of charm and fertility mostly worshipped by monsters, it would be very weird for there to be a church dedicated to her in a human city. Mostly because it carries the (false) stigma of requiring human sacrifices to further her rites.

It takes blood sacrifices, yes, but it's not enough blood to kill anyone. It would be against the point for a goddess of fertility.

Anyways, writing...

Deciding you've taken enough risks trusting a half-elf necromancer you just met with your new future, you prefer to head towards the Chamber of commerce with just her company. She merrily hops along, though you have to stay close to her as she easily gets distracted and excited and mentions something about the stalls reminding her of the markets in Aquilonia, going "Kuha~" when she sees something shiny, requiring you to pull her back and herd along.

The main plaza is a marvel of architecture and decoration. The Duke's Palace, a public building, is the main feature, with large marble columns sustaining the portico in front of the wide open double doors, with several well-dressed people discussing matters under the comfort of the shade.

The Chamber of commerce is to its right and there's a constant flow of people going in and out, often with various documents, ledgers and sometimes bags and people accompanying them, discussing in various volumes and accents a number of matters too large to count.

Inside, the Chamber of commerce is built in a style that harkens back to the architecture of Prontera: wide halls, marble floors, several columns that divide alleys and open spaces dedicated to various functions, from land registers to business registers, and of course a very busy counter for those looking for information.

You look at Tahenohan and decide to try your luck, "Have you ever been in a Chamber of commerce?".

"Nope! This is my first time!", she says with an excited tone.

Ah, well.

You look at the very busy counter and decide you don't have all day to waste in a line. You don't think bureaucracy will help you, it never did before after all.

You use your common sense and intuition to look for a prey to grab and ask information out of, and amongst the various conversations you hear a couple of men, right outside of a less busy open space booth, discussing about the rush of new businesses opening recently.

Thinking you have your target, you casually approach them. One of them is a young-looking man dressed in a dark green tunic with a lighter green sash, all somewhat waxed-looking, while the other, leaning against the column, looks considerably older, dressed in red and with a long, white beard braided from his chin and that hangs in front of his chest.

"Excuse me", you interrupt them at an appropriate moment, "I heard you were discussing new businesses, how is the situation here?".

"You interested in opening a new business, ma'am?", the younger one asks.

"I am", you admit.

"WELL GET IN LINE!", the older man suddenly shouts at you, then chuckles, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I wish you good luck, really, but I hope you're not in a hurry".

"Why is that?", this doesn't look good.

"Well, with the constant flow of new people in since the Reconquista, Reboldeux is pretty much full to the brim with people having all sorts of ambition. Frankly, there's not enough space for everyone. I would advice to just move on and go look for opportunities with the settlers, but eh, what do I know", he shrugs, "I'm just a cynical old man on a break, I talk out of my ass".

Mh. You wonder if you should tell him you want to open a shop with a necromancer...

"Settlers?", well, if Reboldeux is really this full, it might be an idea. You've just crossed the Crystal Sea and it took you a whole week even if your ship was pretty damn fast (or so they told you), certainly a bit more walking won't hurt... If it's for a good purpose.

"Yes, a lot are following the military expedition and building around their camp, but since it's a week away from here on foot, many have stopped along the way to build houses and especially inns", the younger man explains.

"After all, it takes a good line of supplies to keep an expedition going now that they're no longer super elite", the old man chimes in.

"So, it's actually more than a few settlers? There's towns?", you ask.

"Not really", the younger one shakes his head, "Mostly tents, tenements, temporary housing at best. Well, it's getting built as fast as possible but there's not much to exploit, really".

"Not for people like us", the old man allows himself a harsh laugh, "I'd die of old age before I'll see something like this giving fruit, but for you youngsters it might be a good opportunity. After all... A good rule in business is to get there first", and he winks.

"Well, if Reboldeux is really as full as you say...".

"It is", the old man nods his head, "Unless you have something amazing to offer, I'd advise you to look for your fortune elsewhere".

"How would you see something related to magic?".

Your sudden question gives both men a bit of pause. They look at each other, then the older man strokes his braided beard, "Mh. What kind of magic?".

"I can raise skeletons!", she proudly exclaims, raising her hands up above her head to further underline the raising part, her gleeful expression has a visible hint of pride.

This gives the two men even more pause and the older one seems to have been surprised enough to start hacking as if he almost choked on his own breath. You see a few heads around you turn with an expression that reads "what in the living fuck?" for a moment, though they all return to whatever they were doing after a few moments. They probably didn't take the half-elf seriously despite her exotic clothing and all the skulls she decorates her hair with.

It must be the pointy ears that give everyone a wide berth around her, or lead her to not be taken too seriously. Those in front of you can also see her eyes pretty well: they have a shiny, gemstone-like reflection in the irises. You heard actual, full-blooded elves have irises that look like actual gemstones, but you never saw one yourself.

The old man's choking turns into laughter as he catches himself, and the younger man sighs and shakes his head, "That... Is not what I would put in a shop sign".

"Is it illegal?", you ask. Magic and law just don't go hand in hand in this world, so you can never be sure.

"It's... Er... Technically not illegal?", he claims, but you can see from his odd expression that he's not sure, "But still, people are going to ask questions about where you got those skeletons from. Most people don't appreciate their departed to be raised from the dead. Or to have the dead walking in general. It gives every sane person shivers".

Well, he kind of has a point.

I say that if things don't work out for Tahe's business, we try a career that play up our strenght.

I bet that with some training, we could be good at wrestling. That tail should be useful for grapple, and we seems to be strong enough.

Otherwise, try to get an apprenticeship on a shop, or in the administration.
>>
"Do you know of anyone that could use a wizard?", you still feel like you should try and sell Tahenohan's skills. It would be stupid not to: magic users are rare, good magic users are even rarer. Of course, most of them are oddballs at the very best, but there must be a way to make use of her. Right?

"Well, the Duke has had a court wizard for a while and I think he's content with his services. He's not old enough to be replaced, unlike me", the older man gives you an ironic smile, "But I guess he can't be that good if he even gets old, so maybe you could try and ask?".

"I-I don't think it's a good idea", the younger man intervenes, and the older one chuckles as if you were just the target of some joke of his, "But magic is always useful... In the right quantities", he immediately adds, "It may be not very reliable, but it sure is useful".

"Would it be more useful to the settlers or to the locals?", you ask.

The two men look at each other and the younger answers, "Well... It depends on what your magic using lady here can do. Other than necromancy, I mean".

You look at her, she looks at you, then rolls her eyes to think, "... I can do general utility. I can find magic and stuff. I can probably use magical devices. I can fix bones. I can... Uh...", you see her visible effort in finding useful, marketable skills and you suppose she's aware she needs only to list these, but is at odds with herself.

"... Would mending bones be useful?", you ask in her stead, since you don't think she can do anything else that can be mentioned in polite company.

"Well, we already do have a temple of Jure... I'm not sure if they need more help", the younger one answers unconvinced. You're not sure if clerics of the goddess of healing would like the help of a necromancer to fix their patients. You're not sure it's a good idea to have a necromancer to "help" in a place of healing...

"Let's put magic aside for a moment", at least you tried, but you get the feeling you should get to know your friend and her full set of abilities a bit better before monetizing them, "Where would a group of people of good have the most chances of finding work?".

"The most chances? With the settlers. Never shortage of work there", the younger man claims with confidence, as if you've hit his field of expertise, "Unskilled labour is always welcome, and skilled labour as well. Architects and farmers with good instruction are especially welcome: most people don't really know how to build farmlands in tropics and they're just using their old methods hoping they work".

"I get the idea that it's not very remunerative, however?".

The younger man sighs, "Well, if you want the most coin, you should try and stay in Reboldeux. It got very competitive, but you can find room if you're willing to work yourself and bet on your ideas".

"Boomtowns don't last forever", the older man advises with a stern tone, "Earlier or later this influx of people will stop, or too many will come, overestimating the opportunities, and we'll be full of beggars and people with shattered dreams. Careful how high you aim, things never stay the same forever".

"Is the Chamber of Commerce hiring? You seem to be very busy here".

"No", the old man shakes his head, "We're busy now, but we won't be for very long. Unlike others, our administrators have foresight".

You look at Tahenohan, hoping for useful half-elven advice, and she humms quietly for a while, staring at you while she thinks.

"Sorry, I'm stumped without skeletons", she then openly admits.

"How long can you keep them moving, by the way?".

"As long as I want", she smiles, "But I need to take care of them or they'll crumble".

"Is there anywhere we could fit in best? Some businesses that are missing in town?", you're starting to run out of ideas, but it never hurts to ask.

"Well we sure don't have people that raise skeletons", the old man jokes with an amused laugh, "Good luck making money with that, though".

The younger man is sort of more useful, "Not really. Well, not off the top of my head. Maybe if you go at the information counter you can get filled in on-".

"Spare your breath. She's no merchant and she's got no business to start", the old man shakes his head, "Probably doesn't have coin either. Don't take this the wrong way miss, I'm afraid you won't find easy coin here, don't let the boom fool you: everyone is here because they want something, and what almost everyone wants is to get rich quick and live easy".

"You don't seem to have much faith in them", you note, and he smiles.

"You're smart. I'll give you a good piece of advice then: don't expect easy gains here. If your friends are of good will, they'll find someone to work for and enough to feed themselves. Forget about luxuries, get a solid base. Don't look down on settling in the wilderness either: it's a lot safer after that expedition passed, you shouldn't worry about monsters and whatnot. At least I hope, but risk is part of business, right?".

"If I were to go outside Reboldeux, would the Chamber of Commerce help me?".

"Sure", the younger man says, "But like my friend here already said... You really need a plan, and resources, before we can be of real use to you. I don't mean to say we don't want to help you, but you can't improvise yourself as a merchant, it may not look like it but it takes study, preparation and the will to risk everything".

You actually do know of a merchant, but if he's not here you might have a hard time finding him again. Reboldeux is large and stuffed with people.

You thank the two men. For being random strangers you know nothing about, they've been rather helpful, and you get the feeling that they actually knew what they were talking about.

"One last word of warning", the old man says before you leave, "You've got good looks, I'll give you that, but be careful if you're thinking of earning money with them. The temples of Calistria are very picky on who they hire, and if you find someone offering you a job as a prostitute it's almost certainly as a cribhouse whore. I'm sure you're smart enough to tell a bad idea from a good one".

You know of Calistria. Goddess of seduction and passion, and also of free thinking; her temples are houses of pleasure and her clerics are prostitutes of both genders, but they're the good quality sort. Since they pay taxes and everything, they have good security, good hygiene and good pay as well. You presume the Duke must be really happy about the inevitable increase in their work with the constant influx of people, it's literally a metric fuckton of tax money going in his pockets.

You know of Calistria especially because it's an aspect of Ishtar, which puts you in a weird relationship with them: they're technically a part of your goddess, but Calistria loses the parts regarding fecundity and blood bonds in favour of freedom and pleasure. For example, while the ivory or brass idols of Ishtar represent a large-breasted, wide-hipped woman, sometimes pregnant, Calistria is depicted as more slender and more playful, and not necessarily naked or practically so.

In short, they're worshipping something that is your goddess but also isn't, which gives you an odd feeling. You're not sure if you should praise them or not. Certainly, Calistria is a lot more easily accepted amongst humans than Ishtar, who very few people even know, and those who do only heard the wrong stories about.

Still, you have priorities to take care of: you're no merchant, but you know someone who is. Or at least you know how someone who is looks like, which is something.

Scanning the area, it doesn't take you too long before you spot the white and red turban this Nasir fellow wears. Thank goodness you're tall, Tahenohan would have never spotted him unless she bumped into him.

You see him in line in front of one of the open space stalls, with several chairs upon a carpet woven to represent some old battle you can't recognize, and a few shelves stocked with scrolls, parchments and books. A few people are busy discussing several topics, and it shows that there's four employees working around the clock at the best of their abilities, but there's still a line. You hadn't expected there to be this many merchants, the Reconquista is a fairly recent affair after all.

This however also gives you time to approach Nasir and greet him, "Hello. Remember me? We were on the Argent Skimmer together?".

He looks you over. He's taller than you, but thinner and with a sharp, slightly elongated viasge and bright green eyes with a marked blue eyeshadow at the outer corners of his eyes. His golden complexion puts him as someone hailing from the northern parts of Alberta, renown for being very fertile lands yet next to barren deserts and lost civilizations.

"Oh hello. Yes, I do remember you", he simply says. You have to admit forgetting you is a little difficult, "Are you here for business as well? It looks like it's going to be a long line".

"Actually...".

"I was just wondering the same about you", you offer him a charming smile, "You have the proper look of a merchant, after all, I bet you're way better than me at this".

"I don't know about that", he does smile as he answers, "I hope I am, I did bring everything I have to the Shadow Marches, I wouldn't have done that if I didn't believe I stood a chance".

"That whole cart was yours, right? Are you a travelling merchant?".

"Yes, it's what I've been up to now, but I plan to settle down and open a shop of my own", he scans the surrounding area briefly and then smiles, "Not the most unique of ideas, I admit. I was planning to be amongst the first to follow the military expedition directly, I'm sure they're going to be in dire need of everything after their first blitz".

"You know your stuff then", you reinforce your praise with another kind smile, "Do you have any advice for me?".

"It depends on what kind of advice you need", he answers before even starting to think of some.

"I was wondering how you can make money with magic".

"Mmmh", he begins to think. As expected, this question is a tough one to answer, "Most people don't know much about magic and therefore don't know they need it until they see what it can do. Most are also rightfully afraid to employ magic regularly as it's unreliable. But if you're careful and you know what to do with it, I'm sure you'll be able to find a way. I don't know what you can do, but I suppose the best advantage of being able to do magic is to be capable of performing tasks that others can't do, or to do them better or faster".

He then stares at you, unsure on what else to say, "It really depends on what you can do, however".

"Would you be okay with some magical help?", better be vague, Tahenohan's skills are sort of a sensitive topic, "Actually, do you need help? Even of the nonmagical variety".

"Help? Hmm", he ponders for a moment, "Afraid not really. I'm already risking all I have and my resources are rather limited. I have to keep some safe padding in case business has a rough start, and I'm expecting the usual start-up losses, so I'm afraid I can't afford employees from the beginning".

After a brief pause, he looks at you and decides to offer something more, "But I wouldn't mind travelling companions. Even if you don't want to come all the way to the military camp, travelling together for a little is better than going alone. Other than being more entertaining, it's also safer; I know the soldiers at Reboldeux's Redoubt are patrolling the area and it's supposed to be safer thanks to the military, but you never know what can happen".

"Since you have business sense, what do you presume would be a good business to start here?", you try to ask.

He however just chuckles at first, "If I knew that, I'd be doing it myself. Don't take it personally, but competition is an important part of business. If you have a great idea that you think can make money, you shouldn't give it out for free".

"When are you leaving? I'll have to ask my friends, but coming with you might be a good idea", you don't know yet, but you feel it's better to give him something to work with.

"Not today", he claims with a frustrated sigh, "Paperwork is the bane of all honest merchants. Oh well, I want to have a whole day of travel ahead of me so I'll be out of the eastern main gates shortly after dawnbreak. Well, it will take some time for me to get there if the traffic is this thick even that early", he chuckles, "But the idea is that I want to leave early".

"That's good", you nod, "How long are you willing to wait? Even if we end up not coming, I'd like to tell you".

"I'll be waiting just outside the gates. You've seen my caravan, just come here and either hop in and come with me or warn me you won't be coming. I'll stay there for about one hour; like I said, I want a whole day of travel ahead of me".

"Thanks, I'll see you tomorrow, then", you say your goodbyes and leave the Chamber of Commerce; you have nothing to gain by standing in line yourself after all.

Once outside, you're met with the brightness of the tropical sun and a wave of humid heat, possibly enhanced by the curious but well-made and working fountain in the middle of the main plaza. Several people are sitting on its borders, some refreshing themselves, some drinking, some chatting and some with their feet in the water. Can't really blame them, it IS hot.

There's plenty of people all around, colourful and varied, and a couple different taverns with tables out and people eating at their own pace. Since I forgot to mention it in the recap and I think it's going to be important: Zillis isn't noticeably pregnant. The healer she's seen about the baby said she was going to deliver somewhere around November.

You're currently near the end of April.

Knowing her, you don't think she's against travelling, she's tough and quite strong-willed and in good health too. Also, considering how you can't even tell she's pregnant at a look, it's probably best to travel now if you want to, it's going to be tougher on her in a few months.

"I know you can make skeletons, but can you be a bit more precise? What do you... Do with them?".

"All sorts of things!", she seems excited to talk about skeletons, "I have them do chores for me, I have them explore with me, I have them accompany me, I have them keep watch when I sleep, I have them do dangerous things in my stead, and sometimes I just cuddle on their ribs and hips. They're so hard and smooth".

"I see", you never heard of a bed made of bones, but then again she's a barbarian, who knows what sort of odd habits she has, "Can you make other kinds of undead too?".

"Uh...", she frowns, as if displeased. Good thing you're moving while talking about undead, so nobody has time to stop and listen in your conversation to be shocked or whatever, "I guess I can try, but I don't like zombies. I know there's a way to make them not rot but I can't really repair them and they stink and I don't like them, all that dead flesh", she shivers, "Skeletons are better. They're cuter and smoother and all hard".

"Did you make use of them while you were an adventurer?".

"Yes!", she gladly answers, "They're cool! They never get tired, they never complain, they're always of good company and they can fight too! If you give them weapons. Even if you don't but it's better if you do. Well, not that tombs and that kind of places lack swords. Dead adventurers are a good source of that. And of skeletons, too".

"What about your other magic abilities? Other than raising the undead and mending bones".

"Mh. I can scare people", she explains, "Not scare as in 'boo!', scare as... 'MAGICAL BOO!', something like that. I can also make magical lights, I guess I can attack people's health? I mean I really need to be pissed to do something like that to someone. I usually just freeze their feet or fingers".

"Do you have any interesting tales about your adventuring days?", you even get the idea that she might be a storyteller or work as one for a while, but even if she has the materials to work with you suspect she doesn't have the social abilities that would allow her to succeed in that field.

"There was that one time where we went to explore The Black Crypt of Giladris", she recounts with a smile on her face, "It is said to be the tomb of an ancient and powerful Sorcerer-Lich whose deanimated remains were buried and sealed along with his phylactery, that was broken but could be repaired by substituting the front gem, which would give the new wearer the powers of a true Sorcerer-Lich".

"... And was it true?".

"Nah", she shrugs with a smile, "It was a crypt full of assorted bones and some treasures. The others complained about the lack of fighting and said it was boring, but we ate plenty of warm meals with the modest treasure we got from there".

"Assorted bones... Do you need the skeleton to be whole to raise it?".

"Yes", she nods, "It doesn't do to raise incomplete skeletons. What would be the point?", she shrugs with a hmpfs, as if it should be obvious.

"What do you need to do to take care of it?".

"Eh, you see, bones don't decay very quickly but they still do and tend to get brittle in the long run. Especially at the joints", she explains, "So you need to regularly smooth them and use the right words of power and impart your magic in them. My master said I should use a proper wax made with ground Nightshade root and pure water, but I found that fish glue works just as well".

"Do you think you can start a store on your own? The one you wanted to start", you feel this is important, which worries you when she just looks at you with that blank expression.

"I don't know", she answers with a smile, "I never tried before".

It's never easy, is it?

There's so many question you want to ask her you're almost sorry you're approaching your destination. Even if you will have to look around a bit, you don't think it will be difficult to find an inn with such a name, and who knows what the sign looks like. This also makes you notice that Reboldeux isn't that large after all: you would expect it to have at least half the people it has on the streets right now, they weren't kidding when they were talking about boomtowns.

"Can you still raise a skeleton if it's encased in metal?", you decide to ask her. At this point, you've decided to appease your own curiosity as well.

"Uh... Nope", she shakes her head, "I need to be able to touch and wax the bones to raise them. I also need to take the metal off to do the maintenance. But it's okay if it's an encasing I can open", even if she isn't sure why you asked, she smiles as she answers.

"Have you ever done skeleton siege engines? Or skeleton air gliders?".

This question gives her pause and she stares at you as if she wasn't expecting it. At all. She does think seriously about her answer, though, "... Like a skeleton catapult? Uh, I know people make them... Somewhere. Or so I've been told. I think they're just made of bones, not actually skeletons. Maybe".

She then frowns a little, "And... You can't make skeleton air gliders. You need... The leathery things...", she motions under her arms and does some flapping motions, "... You can't fly skeletons like that. I'm sorry".

"So...", you reach the promenade and see the Crystal Sea in all its bright splendour, its waves gently crashing against the tiny cliffside. There's no sign of an actual beach that you can see, "Do you prefer to cuddle skeletons or... Warm, living bodies?".

Tahenohan stops. She gets a serious face and begins to ponder, frowning visibly as she puts more effort in this as she should before she looks up, her face serious, "Can I think about it for a bit?"

"No", you shake your head firmly, "I'm going to need an answer right now". You stop and turn to her, tapping your foot and crossing your arms as you wait for her answer.

"Uh...", she blinks, thinking as hard as she can, "Uh... Er...".

"Nah, I'm just kidding", you reassure her, ruffling her hair, "Take your time, and don't be afraid to consult me if you need help on the matter. Of any sort".

She looks relieved and satisfied with your answer, offering you a bright smile, "Thanks!". Though boy her hair is messy, she really needs a good brush and a lot of patience.

"By the way, will you be staying with us? For the night, I mean".

"But of course!", glee exhudes naturally from her merry expression, "We're friends, right? We're also partners, right? We should stick together then!".

Some part of your common sense is still unconvinced that having a half-elf necromancer around is a good idea, but at least she looks to be pretty loyal and carefree.

You finally arrive at The Hairy Mermaid and the sign is as you should have expected it to be: a mermaid with the upper body of a hairy man, except for stylized and comically large boobs. Also, all the hair, including the facial one, is black despite the striking blonde hair.

You have to wonder why the captain of the Argent Skimmer advised you to come here. Maybe they really just need work, and you were in need of that.

Yeah, but be careful to not put all our eggs in one basket.

Proposing necromancy may get us blacklisted, or even attract violent crowds. Unless we convince people under the table
>>
The inside looks rather comfortable: it's a two-stories inn in painted white brick and wood, like every other house that faces the Crystal Sea, and it has a wooden terrace suspended above the water with enough space for six tables, which are currently empty. The scent of saltwater is strong but not unpleasant.

Inside, you find that Lucas is talking behind a counter with a man that could either be the innkeeper or one of his employees. A young girl with a brown ponytail and freckles is serving at a table with five men that look like sailor. They're leisurely eating baked buttered bread and drinking malt beer while discussing about their travel to and from Izulde and what they're planning to bring as souvenirs to either their girlfriends or their "girlfriends" or maybe wives, you can't be sure without actually eavesdropping.

Zillis and Mires are near what you presume to be the kitchen, an arch without a door, and Mires waves vigorously as she spots you, motioning for you to reach her.

As you do, Zillis offers you a smile, "We've got an agreement. There's going to be plenty of work in a while for lunch, and even more for dinner and deeper into the night. If we help out, the owner will let us stay in the common room. When Reiram comes back with the money, we'll see if we can get better accommodation if we want to. Though it's probably better to save some money".

"I'll help out in the kitchen", Mires points out. It's actually the only place you can put her in this kind of work: she can't take orders because she'll forget them, she has to keep herself busy constantly doing different things or she'll lose her focus, so taking care of orders in a busy day will satisfy her. Hopefully.

You also update them on your activities and findings. You should probably prioritize discussing...

"It's good that we have a job for the immediate timeframe, but are we planning to stick with it or should we try looking for something else as soon as we can?".

Mires and Zillis look at each other; this is the first time you're in a situation where you have the possibility to choose between different jobs and there's demand for unskilled labour such as yourselves in different environments. You have to admit it's a bit jarring at first.

"I honestly don't know", Zillis admits, "I'll stick to this as long as it feeds us, but you're right, we have to think of our future too, especially now that we can", you don't think she realizes she's touching her stomach, she's been doing that at times ever since she knew of the incoming child.

"I don't think Reiram can do this job", Mires flat-out says. She is right though, Reiram isn't particularly skilled in the kitchen and not the best barmaid, and would run away at the first sign of trouble so no chance of him being a bouncer past the looks. You realize you're going to have to work in different fields. Which includes Tahenohan, whose skills are necromancy, adventuring and grave robbing.

You wonder if she can even serve at an inn?

"We're not in a hurry, this little is fine for now", Zillis remarks, brushing her wavy gray hair aside, "But you should look for other opportunities. I think you're our best chance at this, we'll keep you working less here so you can focus on that. Don't worry, we can handle it".

"Think of yourself too", Mires stares at you, pulling her red hair back in a short ponytail, fully showing all the freckles on her face, "I'm sure you've got marketable skills too. Maybe some special thing only you can do that people here need".

Serioulsy, guys, at this point I'm searching for reasons to NOT strat a cult of Ishtar here and use ti to farther our influence. I don't know why, it makes so much sense to me.
>>
You realize Mires has a point. You've been thinking on how to make Tahenohan work and how to use her abilities and those of your friends that you forgot that you're a working class leader. Your friends don't know about your divine connection to Ishtar because despite growing up with them, you've never found a way to tell them that you suddenly started being visited in your dreams by strange, eldritch entities that herald the goddess(?) Ishtar and you just had this calling to further her goals.

Not that it's very relevant: right now you can fertilize soil or people, and you're neither in a farmland nor there is much demand for babies that you're aware of. Maybe Zillis and Lucas but they've helped themselves already and no longer need your help, at least not until next year.

"What do you think I'd be good at?", you ask Mires, waiting for her answer as she looks over you.

"You make for a much sexier barmaid than Zillis", she openly admits. Zillis sighs, "Let's try to focus on something more useful, okay? Don't downplay her, she has other things going for her than the looks".

"Speaking of which, what should we do with Tahenohan? Her magical abilities aren't really in demand here".

Zillis frowns as she thinks, but it's clear she has no idea how to deal with magic. "Well", she shrugs, "Maybe there's not much request here, but she can do... Her thing... Somewhere else? Maybe in the farmlands, or even further in the frontier. I'm sure people will be more... Willing to accept... Compromises where there's... Need for things to get... Done".

She's trying her best to not imply necromancy.

"Would you be okay with moving away from Reboldeux then?", you tentatively ask.

Both of them nod, "If we have a plan, yes. As long as we don't end up travelling for months or stuck alone in the wilderness. I want to give birth in a proper house".

"Are you going to need help here? It sounds like it's going to get busy soon", you ask.

"The owner said we're going to be much busier tonight than for lunch, and that his other serving maid is sick. Lucky for us I guess", Mires shrugs and just takes it in stride.

"The other girl is his daughter", Zillis nods towards the brown ponytailed girl. She can't be much older than fifteen at a glance, "But she can't take care of everything on her own. They assured us that the crowd isn't rowdy even if it's mostly sailors, they know where to go if they want company so we're getting the tame ones".

"What about Lucas?".

"He'll help with the rooms in the day and serve with us in the evening. Apparently there's some girl sailors that like the sign and became somewhat regulars", she smiles, "It's okay, as long as they keep their hands off his ass. That's mine".

Everything seems to be fine all considered. Except for Tahenohan, whom you look at, and who stares back at you, an expecting smile on her lips. "Have you ever worked at an inn?".

She thinks about it, "No", she answers shortly thereafter, "No. Not an an inn. No. Never before". She then looks up at you, "Is it difficult?".

"You'll have to serve the customers, be quick but gracious, and take their orders and deliver them", you roughly explain, "There'll be plenty of them, all hungry and impatient, and we'll have to spend time cleaning afterwards. Think you can handle it?".

She doesn't look too sure, but she still smiles, "I will".

"Seriously though: what else are you willing to do if we can't find a way to use your magical abilities?"

"Mh. Can't we just go out and explore? That always worked out for me", she sincerely asks, "We don't have to go very far, but isn't this place, like, new? And mysterious?".

Real combat experience? Life and death combat experience? No

You were desperate enough to try banditry once. Thought you found an easy target to bully even though you felt a bit guilty about it. Turned out this easy target was actually a seasoned adventurer and kicked your collective asses without breaking a sweat.

Okay, that fight was really hopeless, but even then you still don't feel confident about fighting. You have zero training and never really went in to hurt someone so bad they'd stop moving. You also fortunately never had to defend yourself against anyone that mean, but that only means less combat experience for you.

"Well, we can, but it would be just you and me", you explain Tahenohan, "Our friends probably prefer to stay where it's safe and look for normal, well-paying jobs".

Zillis nods, "Yes. Sorry but I can't really move around too much", she inadvertently rubs her stomach again, "And I don't think Lucas will either. Reiram is probably more useful here, I bet there's demand for loaders and he's big enough to do it for a living".

"I might come every once in a while", Mires nods, "Depends on how the situation becomes".

"As I said before: I'm not against moving from this town", Zillis remarks, "Thought I'd rather know if you have a plan first". She pauses for a moment, "Also, try asking if there's exploration charters or something similar when you have the chance. I mean, this field of business should be a big deal in the Shadow Marches, with the Reconquista going on, I would be surprised if it wasn't regulated".

She has a point, there's probably edicts and places where adventurers gather and grab quests and then head out to do them for money and experience. Or that's how you think they work, you're not sure. You look at Tahenohan for confirmation but she just smiles.

"I'm fine even if it's just you and me. We'd still be in good company".

"Well isn't she sweet?", Mires says with a straight face.

You prepare yourself to deal with the toughest task you'll have to face today.

You have to teach a half-elf to be a proper barmaid.

As you teach and question her, you find out that her upbringing has given her weird ideas about how inns work. Apparently, in her barbaric lands, people eat and drink at tables only where there's nothing but food, but most of the times they use longer chairs, cushions and carpets along with much shorter tables or none at all, and flirting is considered an acceptable way to show interest in guests and hosts.

You also ask if she has anything to wear other than those shiny black robes with a nicely sewn pattern and gold-coloured embroideries. She claims she has something and pulls it out of her bag where a bunch of other junk of varying degrees of value are stuffed.

You can't make her wear that. Metal plates to cover the breasts and thin rings that support a loincloth that only covers the front isn't appropriate for this establishment. She claims it's a gift she received from long ago and she hasn't worn it in a long while because it's a bit uncomfortable and doesn't stop the sand from getting in uncomfortable places, or shield her from the elements at all.

As you take a break from your lesson and hope to test her with proper customers during lunchtime, you manage to get hold of the owner, a grizzled man with more wrinkles than he should at his age, thin almost to the bone and yet looking healthy enough to be working.

You ask him if he's fine with you helping, and it takes just a glance at you to get a nod of approval.

"As long as you know what you have to do it's fine, I'll have too much work to do to worry about the details. Since you're with the others, you get to stay as well. Heck, maybe I can rest a bit today".

>>

>It's fine, just skip time!
>>
"Is there anything I should know about Reboldeux?", you ask the owner while you're there and have a bit of time to spare.

"It's the only port town in the Shadow Marches, even before they were swept away in the last Fomor wars", he answers, "No surprise all the traffic comes and goes from here. I'm sure everyone with any business sense is trying to take advantage of that and I bet there's going to be blood running to grab the most profits, earlier or later".

You don't have time to stay and chat further since customers start coming for lunch and you soon find yourself busy. Not excessively so, you can keep an eye on Tahenohan and see how she behaves.

Maybe it's because of your crash course, but you don't have to intervene or correct often. You forgot that being a half-elf she gets a kind of preferential treatment that makes people more willing to excuse weirdness, mistakes or minor breaches in etiquette. It's the sort of leeway people give to those that are mentally challenged, which makes you a bit sorry for her at first but then you remember she has elven blood which makes them actually spot on with the treatment.

As expected, evening is a lot busier. During evening, everyone needs to relax after a hard day of work, and most of the people that worked hard have earned coin to spend. This also includes Reiram, who returns, after being fetched my Mires, with enough money to honestly buy yourselves a couple rooms for one night even if you didn't have your other arrangements.

The owner says it's fine for him to wait until you're done working as long as he stays out of the way. A bit harsh, but he really has no way to help, he'd bump into everyone with his size and this isn't really the field he's most talented in anyways.

You finish cleaning everything up rather late, and most customers have either returned to their bedrooms or have moved to the terrace where the owner assures you he can take care of them himself.

Hurray, lodgings!

Since all other rooms are already taken, you cannot improve your current situation even if you have the money to. This might be a problem: there's possibly not enough room to actually sleep in if you decide to stay in Reboldeux, and you don't think there's houses for sale. If there are, there's probably so much demand the prices are either through the roof or they're all sold out already. You're not even sure how long the owner of The Hairy Mermaid is willing to keep you here, it might be more convenient for him to just pay you and reserve his rooms for other customers, urging you to look for other accommodations.

You wonder if there's somewhere you could go or someone you could ask about this, but you're more than a bit certain that you're going to need to save that for tomorrow.

The common room has enough space for only six people, so it's practically only yours. You presume it's normally unused unless a bunch of people need a place to crash into all of a sudden, just like you. Actually, a cursory scan of the room reveals that this was probably just a deposit for furniture and other useful items before being hastily converted in a common room with six small, spartan beds. You still see white cloth covering small round tables and chairs, all pushed against one side of the walls.

Reiram is already sleeping soundly and Mires is laying on a bed, although she's just lazily kicking her legs in the air. Sleeping doesn't come naturally to her. Lucas and Zillis are sharing one bed, even if it's small, and you can hear them whispering while he rubs her stomach, their hands intertwined.

"You can switch with me if you need to, anytime".
"I'm fine".
"Really, if you feel tired or are working too much, just say so".
"I'm fine".
"We're not that desperate, this is a new start and everything, you know".
"I said I'm fine, Lucas, I'm not made of glass".

But since he doesn't stop worrying she eventually has to shut him up with a kiss. It works.

Not wanting to disturb the two, and even though there is practically no privacy here, you find yourself somewhat glad that it's just you, who all know each other, and don't have to deal with strangers in what is basically a tent condition. Tahenohan is looking around the beds and the relatively low ceiling, looking rather satisfied and saying it's "Pictoresque".

Since you arrived packing very little, you don't have much in the way of changes of clothing. One spare set at the very best. Fortunately, it's hot enough you can just sleep in your underwear, and there's nobody around you wouldn't be comfortable stripping in front of.

Unless you want to count Tahenohan. She is practically a stranger, yes, but you get the feeling you can trust her.

You hope Tahenohan wasn't thinking she could get away with skipping on that unfinished business, because you sure as hell aren't going to let her.

You gently grab her arm and direct her towards one of the beds, "This will do", you claim, taking the lead and hoping for her to follow without question. Which she does, kneeling down to prepare to lay down. The bed, which is really just a mattress with a wooden board beneath it, is large enough for you and nobody else, and as you strip down to your underwear you lie down first while Tahenohan starts taking her various hair decorations off.

The many small skulls she is wearing actually come with clasps for ease of use, which is smart of her and leaves you positively impressed. Then she takes off her robe and apparently barbarians don't wear underwear. Good thing it's just you and your friends in this room.

Before she can be dumbfound as to where to lay down, you pull her on top of you and stretch her robe on top to work as an impromptu blanket. Sure, it's going to be hotter, but if you don't take care of her decency (she likely won't.

"So", she's surprisingly light. You did hear that elves have no weight and could sit on top of your head and you wouldn't notice; you thought it was bullshit but damn she IS light, "Which is better? Flesh or bones?".

She blinks; you're one head taller than her, so you're actually a pretty good bed for her, and you have more than enough breasts to serve as comfortable cushions.

"Don't think I forgot", you grin.

"Uuu...", she goes, burying her face in your chest. After a pause, you feel her fingers pressing against the sides of your torso, as if checking your ribs. She does that for a bit, saying nothing else.

"I don't dislike flesh", she then admits, "You have nice bones too... But I'll take the flesh as well".

You consider whether to tease her further or not, but she's so tired she falls asleep shortly thereafter. Good thing you're not too well-endowed: she can still breathe.

Thank you for sticking around with me again.

I hope I have made some slight improvements in managing questing. I'm still wailing at the character limit and trying to avoid splitting posts too much, I hope the thread wasn't as slow as my first try.

As promised I'll be posting the powers you have shortly, then I'll archive the thread and stick around for a bit more in case you have questions, criticisms, suggestions and whatnot.
>>
Sense Divinity

This innate power is common to all clerics: it allows you to perceive divine presence and connections. You can tell which people have actual connections to their deities, and therefore hold power. You can also detect holy symbols, though not necessarily recognize them. You can tell when divine powers are being used or are in effect, but you are still somewhat unfamiliar with the details and can't always properly identify their effects or origins.

You can also tell for sure that the part about Ishtar inhabiting idols dedicated to her are real, as you can feel her divine presence in them, but only if they're made in the proper materials, which are brass or ivory.

Thanks for running! It was fun. Hopefully the lewd anons didn't bother you.

Any idea when you can run again?
>>
Rite of Fecundity

You can perform the basic rite of Ishtar, increasity the fecundity of crops or people. This rite requires a blood sacrifice depending on the task at hand. For crops, wilderness and plant life in general it depends on the amount of soil: for a personal vegetable garden you can just prick your own finger and spare a few drops yourself; for an entire farmland you better get every farmer to contribute a bit or you'll make someone collapse or plain die.

For people, it takes a bit of blood from each participant, which is then mixed with other materials to create a body paint that has to be applied on the naked body of the participants in particular patterns which you've got quite a bit of leeway with. Traditionally, members partake in ritual dancing that end in orgies, or just normal sex, depending on the number and willingness of participants. For the purposes of the rite, their amount is irrelevant: chances of impregnation increase as long as you have the proper blood sacrifices and do the painting and dancing right. You're not required to partake yourself, especially if the participants want to know who the child belongs to, or don't want to make more than planned.

Note that it is said that, through this rite, you can increase chances of impregnation even when there would normally be none. Apparently, the existence of certain races and monsters, such as harpies, mermaids or all of the were-variants are Isthar's fault/part of her divine plan, or so you've heard theologists claim.

You know for sure that they're right about Isthar wanting people to mate and reproduce, regardless of race.

Great. I missed the entire fucking thread because 4chanX broke and I can't fucking fix it.
I hate everything.

LEWD
>"I don't dislike flesh", she then admits, "You have nice bones too... But I'll take the flesh as well".
Cute.

Nice thread. If I had to point out one annoyance, it would be way too much asking people about things. Obviously to some extent it can't be helped since you need some way to exposit about the place to us and we need some way to find work and a place to stay, but the part after leaving the ship until we arrived at the inn felt a bit monotonous and a lot of the questions ended up feeling frustratingly pointless. Yeah they mostly served a purpose all of them, but more in a general 'here's how things are in this town' way than actually helping with what we wanted.
>>
>>34984824
Don't worry, I'm comfortable with this amount of lewd, and I was giving for granted there'd be some in the first place.

I'm not sure when I'll be running again. I'll try to make this a weekly appointment as much as possible but fridays are kind of cursed. Every time I try to do something on a friday, everyone and their dog tries to get me to do stupid stuff and take me out right when I had things planned. I risked having to cancel running today. Twice.

Still not sure on when. Probably monday but don't hold your breath. Follow @MagicalMarquise if you want to be sure.

Alright, we can wait however long it takes.

Why not just uninstall it temporarily?

Like I said, this setting is actually a mishmash of stuff I stole. Anyone with google that searches for a few key words I've thrown around this episode will likely find out a lot of sources. Which would clear up several things.

As for the monotonous part of asking stuff... I'm sorry, I just have a fetish for worldbuilding and delving into socio-political and economical details more than it would be wise to.

If it starts to get really boring and annoying I'll try to cut it to a minimum, but I'd still like to keep it a feature, if possible
>>
>>34984919
So elves are seen as barbarians and, judging by the inn-scene, kind of simple in this setting. Tah seems pretty fine barring excessive airiness though, is that just how all elves are or is she notably smart/civilized?
>>
>>34985001
I don't think it's a problem keeping it, but combined with the lack of a straight-forward plot in favor of a more freeform/open-world approach it makes things feel a little bit aimless and lacking pogression. Might want to indulge more after our party has something more solid to cling to. Not that you should stop entirely until that happens of course.
>>
>>34985011
The problem with elves isn't whether they're civil or not.

The problem with elves is that they're weird, have no common sense, functionally immortal and often have lived so long they have an amazing variety of very well-developed and diverse abilities and the worst ideas on what to make with them.

They're usually not dangerous, just very annoying to deal with because their priorities and concerns are very distant from those of humans, often to the point most people can't understand them at all.

Tahenohan is... You have no idea how she relates to the average for a half-elf. There probably is no average, just like there's no average tiefling. The subject pool is too small.

>>34985049
I'll take note of that. Hopefully I'll be able to work on getting you some appreciable short term goals next session.
>>
>>34985106
So human/elf reproduction is rare then? Wouldn't seem the same level of rarity as tieflings but I guess you never know
>>
>>34985251
It's hard to tell. It's rare in both cases, but the parts that make it rare to reproduce with elves are kind of like the following:

>You have to find an elf, which is the most difficult part of the plan because they're rare
>You have to convince him/her to do naughty things
>You have to not regret trying and give up
>You better hope it works the first time because unless the elf sticks around trying again is going to be difficult
>You might realize you've possibly helped spawn more elven-blooded individuals in the world and be wracked with guilt

Human/demon reproduction is at least as rare, because demons cannot come to this world without invitation and it takes a certain deal of skill to summon one. They have the benefit of being a lot more level-headed (which is funny if you think about it) and they can be summoned specifically for doing naughty things.

Still, you're no demonologist so you have no idea how this actually works, but you heard that demons are untrustworthy and evil, so this might not be a good idea.
>>
>>34985381
Yeah, let's stick with elves, of the half variety,.
>>
>>34985106
What's there to explore here? Ruins?
>>
>>34985635
Your guess is "Uncharted tropical lands", which sounds chiller than it should, but you're not sure. You presume there are ruins somewhere, this place was completely wrecked by a war, after all. So hard the landscape changed and cartographers are going to have to do everything from scratch.

But you don't actually know in character. You might have the chance to inform yourself next time, though.
>>
>>34985693
Can you give us a pantheon or just gods that Lillith knows of?
>>
>>34985816
The 2000 character limit would kill any attempts at lengthy descriptions and I don't want to bore you so I'll try and be brief:

Nao
Major goddess of community, benevolence, protection and unity against the Fomor threat. Most widely worshipped religion, her clerics take care of many things including schooling the masses. Her holy symbol is a celtic cross

Jure
Goddess of healing. Demands to care of everyone without showing preference, but to consider all your patients like your dearest darlings. Her cult has overseen the construction of many hospitals and bring heal to the poor free of charge. Holy symbol is Asclepius' staff.

Lulwy
Goddess of travel and weather. A trickster represented with the face of someone who just pulled the world's biggest prank on you and you don't even know yet. Represented as a black-winged woman, she has small shrines along roads, especially at the intersections and next to inns. Holy symbol is a wind star.

Calistria
Goddess of seduction, pleasure and free thinking. Her clerics are high class prostitutes and they run well-respected, tax-paying establishments. Is actually an aspect of Isthar but most people don't know this. Holy symbol is a lily.

Ehekatl
Goddess(?) of luck. Is actually a cat. Her(?) priests are... Basically lucky hobos and crazy cat ladies. Holy symbol is a stylized cat face, but a stylized fish is fine, too.

Marfa
Goddess of agriculture and hunt. Worshipped and given offerings in every farmstead worth its name. Most popular festivals and holidays are held in her name. Holy symbol is a bundle of wheat.

Isthar
The ancient mother goddess of charm and fertility. Is mostly worshipped by monsters and her cult is not very widespread outside of the barbaric west, and even then people tend to be a bit wary of her followers. Her holy symbol is herself in brass or ivory figurines.

Hope this helped somewhat

No male gods?
>>
>>34986252
Note that there's also an elven pantheon of three gods and there's a god of dwarves only dwarves "worship". There's also the father and mother of dragons, Bahamut and Tiamat, but it's dragon stuff and dragons are complicated and you don't know much about them except their number is limited by divine decree.

>>34986287
There are, but I need to make another post about them.

Also note that other than Nao, all other gods are considered "minor", sometimes referred to as "pagan". Also, polytheism is a thing, you're not forced to worship only one god. For example, most people make offerings to Lulwy before a travel and so on.

Coming with a second batch of god short descriptions

Put it in a pastebin
>>
>>34986383
You know what? You're right. I'm too tired to think straight. I'll put it in a pastebin.

And you know what? It doesn't make sense for me to do this now and screw up big deal. I'll have it ready for our next run, so I won't actually be writing while I'm too tired to think straight.

I'm going to bed now, thanks again for sticking around.

Put it on your twitter when you're done, thanks for running.
Personally I thought this would die really early on, you made a lot of early mistakes, but you've been doing great.
