First thought? Apparently you are not the best at fighting other invisible people.“Jonathan! Jonathan!” Someone turns you over onto your back. The world spins, and spins, and spins… Eventually, you’re looking up into a cluster of steadily sharpening shapes. A blob of electric blue focuses into Noriko, standing over you with a worried look on her face. Next to her is Lucas, and Laura, kneeling down beside you. Her eyes are strange. There’s also a giant white cat-creature with big, sunny eyes and the catquivalent of a concerned expression painted across its brow. Man, the Scar is getting so weird. Almost too weird. You can’t believe nobody’s noticed (nobody with an opinion they’re willing to share with the general public, anyhow) this crap yet.Laura sits you up gently, your head throbbing. “What happened to you, Jonathan?” >Present Time: ???>Hunger Level: 3>Current Funds: $775>Well, after the chick went invisible, you…>[ ] …immediately pounced at her, but then…>[ ] …scanned for her in the infrared, but then…>[ ] …picked up another rock to throw, but then…

>>34981763Think of it this way, we survived with a mild concussion something the should have taken us out of commission for the rest of the night. And our backup found us almost immediately.
>>34981885But we lost the game of tag, it wasn't worth it
>>34981885Maybe man. I would have preferred to actually play the fight out and let the dice land how they will, rather than the thread starting with "You lost. This is how.".
>>34982049Could be we won though, it's just that somebody came and bailed her out.
>[X] …scanned for her in the infrared, but then…Thinking back, you explain your story, piecing events back together as you go. You remember that moment of sudden, reeling shock when the girl slipped into invisibility, and the almost reflexive way your shifted your eyes straight into the infrared. It didn’t do you any good – however her invisibility worked, it cloaked her heat signature just as well as it hid her from mundane sight. And that second wasted to stop and ascertain her position cost you. You think – you think – she screamed. Except it was more like a roar, starting out low and guttural, then rising like a temper, extending out into a blast of sharp, painful decibels barely on the fringe of audibility. Your nervous system, your ears, your everything – you were suddenly just one big tangle of wailing fire. You felt it rush over you like a tidal wave, slamming you back against the wall behind you, the concrete shifting minutely at the force of the impact. The scream went on and on and on into blackness…“Ow, man…” Notes Lucas. “A sonic attack.” Laura nods her head grimly, checking you for injuries. “Very effective against someone with your senses. Are there…” She pauses. “…Are, are there any lingering side effects?” You think she almost stuttered somewhere during that last bit.“No…” You reply, and feel a tiny sigh of relief pass through her chest. “I don’t think so…” “Good to hear.” Interjects the cat. Sitting up now, you can see the girl that was with him earlier, hiding behind his heavyset flank. “It was a fine thing to do, stepping in like that.” Right. Uh… A thought strikes you, and you check the time. >13:05 PMPhew. >[X] Ask who this crazy lion guy is. >[X] Ask how everyone found you. You guess you have to be polite for the lion guy. You are a lizard guy, after all, and he’s been reasonably polite with you. “Just trying to help, Mr…?” You offer your hand, and are baffled by the moment of uncomfortable silence that follows, before it dawns on you that this guy doesn’t strictly have hands.“Uh, sorry…” “Not at all.” Seeing a big human smile on a cat face is weird. They won’t even see me coming.” Seriously. You’ve fought paramilitary organizations and drug barons and possible demons. If you had the money for a costume you’d basically be a superhero. Granted, not the best superhero – possibly one of those guys that sort of do the Spidey thing but not as good. With a dark, edgy backstory, and lots of angst, too, like the heroes in those comics from the 90’s, where everyone has a giant gun and scowl and a big metal arm/leg/assorted other limbs. On the other hand, it’s not just a bunch of crooks, it’s THE bunch of crooks, and you’re very nervous and Laura can probably smell that. She keeps her stare fixed in place, ascending the stairs until she’s uncomfortably close – for both of you, if her posture us any indication. She watches you carefully, the sustained eye contact getting you sort of fidgety, like suddenly being in the limelight. Eventually, with great trepidation, you sort of hug her. It’s very awkward, but sort of nice, too. “See you.” She nods. You head out into the cold.

>(2/2)It takes you a little over an hour to find your way to the Agency offices. The clouds have rolled in, and the sun is an awkward, dim little pimple behind the blanket of stifling, darkening grey. You can taste precipitation in the air – there’ll be a little bit of rain later. You knock at the door, and find yourself greeted by – surprise surprise – yet another intern. It’s like they collect them or something. This one – who you’re pretty sure is entirely too young to be employed at all – introduces herself as Molly and pretty much immediately asks to see your ears. You wearily comply, weathering a number of enthused comments about Mr. Spock and such, before she all but drags you upstairs, into one of the rooms below the main office, where the tubby intern (oh man you forgot her name) and Remy are waiting. There’s an entire rack of very expensive looking suits standing between them.“Finally.” Snorts the girl. You feel a spike of discontent. You’re, like, ten minutes early.Ignoring her, Remy glances down at his watch. “Nice an’ early, mon ami.” He nods to the impressive assemblage of fancy wares. “Time to find out what fits.” >[ ] Go for something nondescript and mellow.>[ ] Go for something flashy! >[X] Uhhh someone can pick your stuff, you’re no good at this crap. What do you know about suits? You know they’re expensive, and you don’t generally have the money to waste on such frivolities. Plus, they’re restrictive and kinda chilly, not really all that good for hobo-ing up and down the Big Apple. You cast your mind back momentarily – two people in your life have picked out suits for you. First, your mother, whenever a night out required that her children look somewhat presentable (or for church), then Creeper. You never really paid much attention to either. You point this out before things go any further, narrowing your eyes at tubbo when she just can’t help but gurgle up some quiet laughter. The following hour-and-bit is spent changing in and out of various luxuriously soft fabrics, each look passed by a panel of three judges with notably different tastes. Eventually, you end up in a creamy white, well-cut number that (apparently, this is Remy’s word you’re going on here) ‘really goes with your hair’. “Real incognito.” Notes tubbo, her voice drenched with teenaged sarcasm. “I think it’s nice!” Says Molly. You mumble a quiet thankyou, though you’re not sure how well her approval bodes. She’s wearing a Thing hat with kitty ears sewn on top, so her opinion is of questionable worth.Remy nods. “Ain’t lookin’ to go incognito tonight, petit.” He reaches into his pocket and withdraws a set of tickets, holding them up to the light. “Our way in.” You squint, reading the names printed on the paper. “Mr. Wingates and…” Wait a minute. “…Mr. Wingates?” Remy smiles broadly, offering his arm. “Ready to light up the night, darlin’?” -------------------------------------------------------->HMQ 88: END>sorry about the super short thread, I just can’t be up late tomorrow. >Congratulations! I would personally prefer Optic blasts, because that's the most defensive of all ranged powers. Granted, it won't kill off Kimura until lvl 5 or photoboost, but paired with geovision, it allows JJ to act as a point-defense drone that intercepts projectiles for the team. + crowd control abilities

Force blasts are good at high levels but I don't think we'll ever be able to invest that much into a single power. When looking at powers only look at what it can do at lower levels because that's probably all we're going to get.
>>34986154Muscle memory and sonic scream for those extrapolatives

>>34986154Sonic because it gives us something to deal with Kimura and has some nice stealth extrapolatives.

>>34986257>Force blasts are good at high levels but I don't think we'll ever be able to invest that much into a single power. We've already done so. Twice.
>>34986257OPTICAL FORCE BLASTSJJ has developed the ability to project a beam of intense electromagnetic forces from his eyes!Level 1: At this level, JJ may project a beam that pushes back objects. More damage will be dealt by propelling targets into other solids than by the actual blast.Level 2: At this level, JJ’s force beams hit with considerable force, able to cause serious tissue damage. The beam may be widened to thirty inches or pinpointed to a centimetre.Level 3: At this level, JJ’s force beams can smash reinforced materials and cause significant damage to bones and deep tissue. The beam can be widened to a meter. If shot in standard or lower width, the beams may change direction at one point in their flight.SONIC SCREAMJJ develops the ability to emit waves of sonic force from his vocals.Level 1: At this level, JJ may project a high-pitched beam that causes sudden and acute irritation to nearby listeners, and can strike objects with roughly the force of an expert jab.Level 2: At this level, the soundwave may be widened to a meter, and strikes hard enough to easily knock normal humans off their feet. It can be emitted as a high-pitched variant that causes intense pain and, eventually, temporary deafness.Level 3: JJ may now modulate the frequency of his scream, allowing it to displace objects by vibrating them at the right frequency. This makes the power ideal for dismantling machinery, and can cause deep tissue damage to humans.
Can our optics bounce off things at level one? If so, we can do this.

>>34986365Speaking of echolocation, that should be the next goal after Muscle Memory / whichever ranged attack we choose.
Optic blast synergyStr 3 throw + optic blast flight acceleration = a pretty fucking hard hitting projectile+ geovision = damn accurate
>>34986363Not as much as they'd harden it vs. physical force, energy, explosives, and piercing weapons.
>>34986348Force offers more cohesionSS only has dead Kimi going for it, which won't stop the Facility from targeting Laura and or us, hell they might send in somebody worse in her place....
>>34986348Theres a small plethora of ways to kill kim, and for cheaper.the extrap that gives us neurotoxic venom on our bites could kill her, so long as we scratched her skin to inject enough. Thats 2 or 3 points tops. Sonic is not special in that reguard.
>>34986348Imagine a force blast aimed between he finger and nail? Or curved around her eyeball into her her optic nerve. At lv 3 optic blasts might not outright kill her, but they can disable her.
>>34986276>>34986305You logic is flawed. Both of those power had discounted point costs. We've actually spent the same amount of points on Invisibility and Senses as we have on Agility. We have never had more than 4 point at a time. And we've never bought a power that cost 5 point.

Does sonic scream modify our voice or let us do any vocal tricks? The extrapolatives fuck with sounds, so I'm hoping some great ventriloquism and impressions.
>>34986415You can go deeper. With Optic force blasts and geointuitive vision, we can knock people or projectiles out of the air, around corner, and into other things. at level 4 we can pull things into our punches, and will never have to worry about chasing down targets again since we can just pull them to us.

>>34986946>>34986960That's basically the reason I'm voting for it, but extrapolatives to add on to it later would still be good.JJ's long range potential is scary.
>>34986983It'd probably be used non-lethally in most circumstances, and would probably require an extrapolative to focus the strength into a smaller space.
>>34987006IMPORTANT POINTif the blasts are colourless then that blows sonic out of the water for synergy with stealth.
>>34987006I hope JJ's alternate between blue and green.
>>34987006Just like every other ranged power, except for Sonic with a particular extrapolative. Sonic is supposed to lend itself most to JJ's forte, being a stealth character.
>>34987037And don't emit a fucking lasershow each time we use them.
>>34987019From 0 to murder in 2 X-Points flat.>>34987037>>34987006If I were Crusty, I'd make invisible optic blasts an extrapolative (HINT HINT)
>>34987006They look exactly like this."In character" we would be copying them from Cyclops. (JJ met Cyclops when he was a kid.)
Well that was mostly pointless. ENHANCED MUSCLE MEMORY wins. JJ is now more enhanced in his muscles and his memory.>>34986836I couldn't think of any! I can wrack my brain for a few, if you guys want. Would everyone be fine with resolving to place this point in the RANGED category and waiting for the next thread, or do you guys want a vote now?
>>34987071Invisible ranged punches with unparalleled accuracy? That's pretty fuckin' beautiful.
>>34987085Let's vote on this sucker now.
>>34987085>I couldn't think of any! I can wrack my brain for a few, if you guys want. Would everyone be fine with resolving to place this point in the RANGED category and waiting for the next thread, or do you guys want a vote now? Please do it later, I have to piss. And I want extrapolatives.
>>34987085Crusty, imagine what will happen next thread if it's delayed. Lets just end the shitstorm now, please.
>>34987085I'm fine with waiting
>>34987085Fox onlyNo itemsFinal destinationGo
>>34987085Please.Colour shift, narrow/widen, different effects? (freezing eyebeams?)Vote now though.
>>34987085May as well get it over with now.
>>34987085we can wait, more extrapolatives can't hurt.
>>34987085I'm fine with waiting if you feel it best.
>>34987085All of the people that want force blast will probably want to wait. But I'm OK with doing it now.I'll be voting sonic
>>34987085Wait, refill your tea glands, let it simmer on what JJ could do with a kinetic force beam that can push & pull. Maybe a strike enhancing on claws penetrating force or something?
>>34987037They're not colourless, nor are they >>34987079JJ's option isn't pure kinetic force like Summers', it's a tightly-packed electromagnetic wave. It be mostly blue.
>>34987120This, I don't want the next thread to immediately start off with power sperging, especially if Crusty has new extrapolatives cooked up by then.
>>34987085I'm fine with waiting if it means we get more extrapolatives.
>>34987079>>"In character" we would be copying them from Cyclops. (JJ met Cyclops when he was a kid.)Stop with this shit.
>>34987182Cool.By the by, you could link in all that tactile extrapolatives.Stacking box's with your eyeballs.
>>34987085Waiting is for the bestlast time we rushed this we got shitstorms and bitching for weeks
>>34987182>emp eye beamsYES PLEASE
>>34987182Could he use it lightly to lift things without damaging them?
>>34987234There's an explorative right there.
>>34987182Radar, which is EXTREMELY longer range. Or void vision, which is basically that black-hole thing that happened in Naruto
>>34987257bahahahaRadar Eyeballs. I love it.
>>34987257Sonic and echolation, radar right there
>>34987182So so far we've got>Extra-thin/wide beams>Different colored beams>Invisible beams (possibly requiring the above?)>Radar>Extra length>Phasing beams that struck internal organs directly? Maybe if we actually got phasing, and it'd be mutually exclusive with invisabeams.
nightvisioninfaredtelescopic (fingers crossed)laserdamn good eyeballs that would make
>>34987244Yes.Okay, there's exactly the same number of people wanting to wait/gogogo, so I'm erring on the side of caution here. The point is BANKED but restricted to the RANGED category when the time comes to spend.I'll think up some stuff for OFB in the meantime.
>>34987301That's called Sonar.
>>34987207Stop what? It's true. Crusty put in that scene where JJ met Scott for the sole purpose of keeping the "copy" thing going.Sonic came from the Hellion that can vibrate shit apart. Photosythisis came from that alien looking kid we saved at the docks. He had someone in mind for every power he offered us in part 2.
>>34987313Thank you Crusty. And thank you for running!
>>34987313Thanks for running crusty, Always a good thread.
>>34987313Thanks for runningand congrats to your people on ingraining centuries of dependency on Scotland. Pity you have to keep them now though
>>34987182Knowing that, I can think of a few Extrapolitives with them and Electrostatic touch.Like Tagging things we hit with an energy signature we could see/feel, etc
>>34987313Could you maybe add an extrapolative for Sonic Scream that's essentially "Advanced Ventriloquism"? Like, throwing every sound we make and making it appear to be originating from somewhere else?
>>34987313>Yes.So it can kinda be used like telekinesis except you wouldn't be surrounding the object with the power to lift it, you'd have to balance it/or grip on the area you're using the power on or something. I think. Neat. Thanks for postponing m80. Thank you for running this thread as well.
>>34987312>nightvisionWe have this>infaredWe have this also>telescopic (fingers crossed)An extrapolative>laserThat would be Optic Heat blasts which is completely different power. You can't have extrapolatives for one power that would make it the exact same as another power.
>>34987312>nightvision>infared>telescopicDo you even read the quest?
>>34987313If you feel it will help things, Crusty. I just really don't want a repeat of things last time, with 'You could be a dragon' as the reasoning for DB.
>>34987322>Sonic came from the Hellion that can vibrate shit apart. Not quite true now; there's a far more obvious person to copy it from (who may or may not be our cousin)
>>34987405you're not very good with reading are you?I'm saying our eyeballs are and can be even more kick ass
>>34987367Or a Charged particle beam or such. maybe with telescopic some kind of force based cutting tool
>>34987391Maybe. You can already go all "Do not take me for a conjurer of cheap tricks!" with it.You've all given me some cool ideas for OFB stuff, by the by.Anyhow, it's always a pleasure. I'm off for some sleep.
>>34987405Echolocation means sonic vision (and doesn't require Sonic Scream, I think).
>>34987442We aren't voting for DB, so it won't be a repeat.
>>34987431>http://pastebin.com/UuVeJFig>JJ Green has optimal low-light sight, as well as a form of infrared vision capable of identifying heat sources/tracestelescopic is something we can getdo you read the quest?
>>34987459>You've all given me some cool ideas for OFB stuff, by the by.Fucking great. JJ is going to be versatile as hell.Good night, thanks for running, looking forward to the next thread, etc.
>>34987453>making heads roll>on fire>from across the street
>>34987499He can see in the dark already.Crusty has said this.
If JJ needs to boost the force of his projectiles he could use OFB. And he basically can't miss anymore. gg any long-rangefags.
>>34987459Pleas do not make extrapolatives for force blasts that are the exact same as extrapolatives or power we already have available.People suggesting EMP vision>Electrostatic cloud generation (our other utility power.)People suggesting radar vision>Echolocation
>>34987542I know, I listed things we have and can also get.I was saying our eyes are good and have potential to get even better.
>>34987580Wouldn't echolocation be sonar?
>>34987580most people are retarded and are so used to not looking over the pastebins they don't even after he finally put them in the OP>>34987625It'd be like what Daredevil has. Sonic abilities play not role in its formation
Now that the power debate is over we can focous on important questions like; How many Sentinals would they need to take down Mechagodzilla? What powers would JJ need to do it?
OK OKSo what ifguys listen to thisWe take OFB Level 3The one that can change direction mid pointWe make it capture light from that mid point, in a direction we chooseWe transfer back that light to our eyesOur eyes codify that light into visual imagerybam we have inbuilt periscopic vision
>>34987580>Electrostatic cloud generationReminder that this is unnecessary and animal affinity is better.Genetic mimicry would be alright if JJ wanted to/could be a spy and had no compunctions with eating brains.I don't know why you're assuming that since people gave him ideas, he's going to just copy and paste powers though. It's not like he doesn't have a list of the powers.
>>34987716Echolocation goes around corners already.
>>34987735>he's goinghe's not going
>>34987684What kind of sentinels are we talking here?>>34987716>Literal Kinoeat your heart out Documentarians
>>34987737>geo vision + echolocation stacked with senses + danger sense, flexibility, agility, claws, telescopic (soon?), EMM and force blastsJJ's awareness and capability to take advantage of said awareness is scary.
>>34987735It would be funny if Crusty did add an EMP extrapolative. The requirements would be Optic Force Blast and Electrostatic cloud generation>JJ can now fire his Electrostatic cloud from his eyes in a focused beam. Has the same effect as Electrostatic cloud with more range.
>>34987917What if the beam impacted object and disintegrated them in such a way that they became an electrostatic cloud?
>>34987459Can OFB bounce off walls? That would be hella fun with Geo vision
>>34987917That makes more sense than anything the other anons where suggesting. Taser hands might be a requirement as well.I want an extrapolative for Sonic that turns JJ into the Jones from Police Academy. A real guy that can make any suond.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STbTJq2ndWI
>>34988065Everything is hella fun with geo vision.
>>34988099>Jones from Police Academy.Crusty if you have not seen Police Academy, do it now.>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8RaHB18ckMJones is Awesome.
>>34988198>>34988099He does stand up now or at least used to. He came to my town a couple times a few years ago. Didn't see him though
>>34987459Adhesive touch + Optical Force Blast extrapolative idea: Forces struck targets to adhere to whatever they're touching.
>>34988252THAT COULD BE THE BEST CROWD CONTROL. Just eye-punch everybody and katamari them.
>>34988252it can pull at higher levels...JJ WOULD NEVER HAVE TO GET UP TO GET THE REMOTE EVER AGAIN!
>>34988252You could do the same thing with Sonic Scream and say that it's creating a bond by vibrating the molecules together or something.
>>34988252I think that's spidey's bit
>>34988344you could, but it wouldnt make any fucking sense
>>34988344that's really reaching brah
>>34988252>>34988344You make the same extrapolative without requiring either OFB or SS.Tactile telekinesis is a thing.
>>34988571Ranged version of tactile telekinesis?
>>34988595>Ranged version of tactile telekinesisSo... just like the adhesive tongue extrapolative? (we're tying to avoid redundant extrapolatives.)I do still want an etrapolative that lets JJ grow plants out of his body. Shoot vines out of JJ hand like spiderman's web shooters. I suppose it would function a lot like to the tongue but be more disposable. >Probably require the Chlorophyll first.
>>34988793Seriously, what is with the Spiderman obsession? Spiderman is already IN the quest, get off his jock.
>>34988793If you want to be spiderman play Peter Parker quest. It's a thing.
I know it's a little late but after reading I decided to think of some extrapolatives.OPTICAL ELECTROSTATIC EMISSIONRequires: Level 2, Electrostatic Touch Level 2 Optical Force BlastsCost: 3JJ can choose to convert his optical blasts into a focused blast of electrostatic energy capable of delivering an electrical shock equivalent to up to one level below his current Electrostatic Touch level.>Let's JJ taser hand someone with his eyes.ACOUSTIC MIMICRYRequires: Level 2 Sonic Scream, Autonomic SequencingCost: 2JJ may activate a short term ‘recording mode’, allowing to reproduce any sound he hears within this duration down to the finest detail. With enough time and practice he is able to extrapolate how a sound is created in sequence with others. For example, he could perfectly copy a man’s voice but JJ would be limited to repeating exactly what the man had already said. Forming his own sentences with another persons voice would require JJ to store a significant amount of auditory information. It would also take some practice to make it sound real and not robotic.>Basically Muscle memory. Only with sound.
>>34988490Nah, the specific target extrapolative. Just specifically target the button w/ level 2 and you're putting out enough force to knock the button back.
