?Hello everyone. I'm back from my hiatus. As promised, Exalted Quest will continue.
This thread will not advance the quest or pick up from where we left, but just go over the story up to now.
This is for the benefit of any new readers who might want a short, less cluttered version before committing to reading 60+ archived threads in order to understand what's going on. And also for anyone who wants to refresh his memory before we dive back in.
Another thing: this Quest is meant to be as newbie-friendly as possible, especially with regards to Exalted. You don't need to know the tabletop RPG to participate, or at least I tried my best to make it so.

This might take a while and I'm not even sure I can keep it all to one thread, but I'll try.
Feel free to ask any sort of question might spring to mind.

Keep in mind that a lot of details early on, such as the location of Tianna (the Quest's main setting up to now) and pretty much everything about Maka (the player character) was decided by player vote.

Our story starts with an Abyssal airship, a war engine of bone and black wood and soulsteel, crashing through the main street of a city, as animated skeletons pour out of it and two bickering individuals on the deck, calling each other Phoenix and Feurdelis (or Fleurdelis. People in Creation aren't known for their good french anyway) calling the citizenship to surrender with promises that they will not be harmed too much, and that Tianna now belongs to the "Tyrant of the Doomsday Machine".

Hearing a voice within herself, suddenly feeling hopeful and confident even in the face of a flying undead fortress tearing the city in half, a random girl on the street stands her ground and stops the airship, bare-handed. A full circle of golden light suddenly explodes from her forehead.

While the city is assaulted by undead and this Feurdelis character sprints towards the castle, we get to know a bit about what just happened: this young woman is Maka, once princess of a distant southern kingdom, now in exile. And she has been Chosen, right here, right now, by the highest of gods, inbued with His power as His Champion in Creation. She has just Exalted.

And those two guys are Abyssal Exalted. Champions of the world of the dead.

Phoenix, the other individual leading the assault, seems to be surprisingly and unexpectedly affable for someone in charge of an undead invasion force, and tries to talk things out. This doesn't stop Maka from tearing up any skeleton she comes across on her way to the castle, rallying the beleaguered city guard along her way, and discovering that her newfound powers are amazingly effective on the undead, which provide no challenge at all.

In the meanwhile we begin to establish what Maka's character sheet (and character in general) looks like based on her first decisions and actions.

She's somewhere between 20 and 30, fairly tall and athletic. dark-skinned, golden eyes, hair something between blonde and silver depending on light. Lived most of her childhood in the lap of luxury as the heiress of the richest city-state in the setting. Had to flee when her family was dethroned. She lost all contacts with her motherland and has no news of them, or anything else going on there.

Maka is hotblooded and impulsive, unsubtle, gifted with extreme physical strength and stamina, charismatic and a good leader. She has good general culture, but no specialized lore or knowledge: well educated, but book-dumb in most technical, spiritual or magical fields, with the exception of a certain gift for military tactics and battlefield leadership.

She has been quite consistently portrayed by /tg/'s votes as caring and compassionate, bold and decisive, generally a genuinely good person, but prone to acting without a plan, solving most of her problems with violence, sex or both, and has shown to enjoy both of these, especially the latter, maybe too much.

Her weapon of choice is unarmed combat, supplemented at times by aids like boots, gauntlets and improvised weapons. Her fighting style is more about sheer strength and endurance than speed or acrobatics. Less Kung Fu and Karate, and more an unholy mix of Kickboxing and Pankration with more than a bit Pro Wrestling thrown in.

Her sexuality is "everyone".

The castle is a battlefield. The Queen of Tianna, Amata, a Dragon-Blooded Exalted (a Chosen herself, but empowered by the Five Elemental Dragons (specifically, Air) rather than the Unconquered Sun) has been gravely wounded by Feurdelis. Maka steps in and fights the Abyssal just as she's trying to force Amata to admit defeat and surrender her throne, but the more experienced Abyssal is easily her match.

During the battle Amata's son, prince Samiel (also a DB, Fire), arrives to assist Maka, even though he's seriously wounded himself.
The fight now being a 2-on-1, they manage to stall for time until Samiel's sister, princess Irene (also a DB, Earth) arrives with reinforcements: a small team of siege engineers and a Concussive Essence Cannon, a powerful and ancient piece of portable magical artillery, with which she blasts a surprised Feurdelis through the castle walls and into the city. (And also through her own private rooms in the process)

Realixing that her invasion has lost momentum, Feurdelis promises she'll be back like a recurring villain at the end of the episode of a saturday morning cartoon before making a run for it.
>>
>>35041042
So it's Feurdelis not Fleurdelis, right? Because you've used both in the past.

With finally some time to breathe, the setting is fleshed out.

As the undead are mopped up, it is revealed that Maka and Amata knew each other. Maka's family had spent some time in Tianna as vacation when she was a child, and when their home kingdom of Gem was overthrown she made her way there, knowing that Amata would take her in and protect her.

Of course, now that she Exalted as a Solar, everything could change: legends and propaganda from the Realm tell of the Solar as evil monsters, devils wearing human skins. And while Tianna is an island in the Western Ocean, and not part of the Realm, those stories are widely known, and the Realm is known to send armies and agents well out of its borders to assassinate Solars, especially when they prove troublesome.

However, Amata (bedridden after her wounds) has no problems accepting that Maka is still the Maka she knew, and trusts her completely. Well, almost completely...

Since it's /tg/ calling the shots here, it's also decided that Maka is a delicious brown girl, and, coming from a city built under a volcano, in the middle of a desert, in the hottest region of the setting, she is very much used at wearing as little as possible while keeping the thread's images barely worksafe.
No one complains.

Maka also takes a few moments to analyze what happened and what she is now.

She is a lot stronger, faster and more physically fit. Not quite superhuman, but peak human in different ways. Normally a person wouldn't be able to have the muscles of a weightlifting champion combined with the agility of a circus performer and the endurance of an olympic marathon runner, but Maka is. Exaltation has also made her more beautiful and pleasant and more charismatic and socially adept than she already was.

She has also gained a series of powers, called "Charms". Some of these require only a thought to activate or are always active, hard-wired into her body and soul, while other require her to focus her mind and expend magical energy stored inside her, called Essence. She can recover Essence with rest or meditation. She knows these things on a more or less instinctual level, like memories she's always had.

See the Exalted General for some newbie guidelines >>35027107 (also a corebook from which you can go read the first chapter describing the setting. Don't bother with the rules portion, the quest is running on a homebrew anyway)

But this quest tries to be accessible even to those that didn't. If something that you don't know is referenced, you can always just ask and anons will explain.

If I'm doing my job right, you shouldn't need to. Just the thread, this synopsis, and maybe the 1d4chan article on Exalted should be enough.

If I'm not, just ask any question you might have. I or someone else will answer. In general the people following this Quest have been extremely helpful to newbies asking questions in the past.

So, back to Maka.

Over time, with exercise, practice, or just sudden insight, she has unlocked several Charms. As of now (that is, when I put the quest on hiatus), these are her powers.

As you can see, she has the gift of basically demolishing all undead creatures that are not something you'd call a "boss monster" or "mid-boss" with a snap of her fingers. (Though she CAN be overwhelmed by sheer numbers, it'd take A LOT of numbers to force her to burn all of her Essence on that.)

She is a powerful hand-to-hand fighter, and can gain Hulk-like levels of strength for a single action by spending Essence. On top of that, she has amazing endurance and resistance, with lesser blows literally pinging off her in battle, giving her skin the same level of sturdiness as a suit of enchanted armor. (This doesn't stack with actual armor, so /tg/ has taken this as an excuse to go into battle wearing as little as possible.)

She can also do wire-fu when needed.

She is probably among the most charismatic individuals in the setting, and has proven herself able to easily turn strangers, and even enemies, into friends, and collect a long list of allies with little effort. She's a magnet, drawing people to her with natural ease.

(That >>35041440 is almost illegally cute. I want more!)

One of her more useful - and frightening (to others) powers, acquired at a later point, is the ability to train people. The training is of a martial sort, focused on physical conditioning, skill at arms, stamina and survival skill, and also instilling some confidence and force of personality. She can train a large group of people (who must be somewhat homogeneous, so no picking random people from the street: they must at least have some unity of purpose) into an effective fighting force, putting them through months' worth of a drill camp in weeks. If she's overseeing personally a single person's training, that time is cut down to days.

On top of all that, there's the "innate powers" that come with Solar Exaltation:
She can be surrounded by a soft golden glow that can be as bright as a bonfire by just willing it, with her Castermark on her forehead shedding light in a decent radius. (when spending a lot of Essence this effect is triggered whether you want it or not, and if large expenditures are made the glow, called the Anima, grows to titanic levels.)
She can always instinctively tell what's the time of the day (or more precisely, where the sun is in the sky).
She has also perfect health, with a high resistance to most common illnesses and maladies. Her wounds will never infect or become gangrenous, and always have a chance to heal perfectly given enough time or rest. So no bones healing up badly or crooked, no permanent scars, no nuisances like rashes or cavities or stuff like that.
Also, little risk of bleeding out from wounds, as Exalted can stop bleeding with an act of will - it doesn't always work and can take a few tries sometimes, but it beats the alternative.
Of course magical powers or artifacts can bypass some of these blessings, but that's the exception, not the rule.

Back to the story. while overseeing the relief effort after the battle, Maka suddenly is struck by a vision of what she instinctively recognize as her new patron god: the Unconquered Sun.

Maka has one question for him: Why?
And his answer is: BECAUSE YOU ARE NEEDED. AND BECAUSE I HAVE FAITH IN YOU.

(Yes, the UCS speaks exclusively in all-caps).

Nothing like having the highest god of the setting saying that he has personally faith in you to clear doubts from your mind.

Returning to reality, she is confronted by the only member of the royal family still standing, Irene Tai Tianna, magitech engineer and artillerist extraordinaire and, as Maka quickly realizes, a first class weapons nerd. She has suspicions about Maka, but her mother seemed to know her so for now she'll trust her.

As she is going to be busy handling the town's defense and rebuilding the smashed walls and fortifications, an also because Maka doesn't understand what she means when she tries to explain how awesome it is that her class-4 Concussive Essence Cannon has a twelve mote resonation chamber backed by a double-layered array of Majana crystals encased in a steel lattice and a 6-second reload cycle, Maka excuses herself and goes to check on Prince Samiel.

She does some small talk with Samiel, explaining the situation, and persuading him to stay in bed and rest, then heads for queen Amata's room.

Amata seems quite versed in ancient Lore and doesn't seem to buy the bad propaganda on Solar Exalted. Besides, she knew Maka before she Exalted and she can tell that she's not a demon wearing her skin or anything silly like that. But, mostly, it's because Maka is not the first Solar she meets. But she won't say more.

In any case, she says that Maka is still her guest, and suggests that she tries to get in touch with her new god if she has any questions. She has exalted into the Zenith caste of solars, after all: the priestly caste.
>>
>>35041730
Amata is a good wife

I trust her, even if she makes me nervous sometimes
>>
Thanking her, Maka goes downtown, and, trying to lift some rubble caused by the battle, tests the extent of her new strength.

The day after, her muscles aching horribly, Maka is woken up by one of Amata's maids, Millian, with coffee and pastries, and the news that Amata is angry at her for flaunting superhuman strength in front of a still-shocked populace that can't probably tell the difference between the people who attacked their city yesterday and her.

Well, Maka gets some new clothes (her clothes betting wrecked in combat and needing a change is going to be a recurrent event for Maka) and goes to meet Irene, have a chat with her. They talk tactics a bit and Maka realizes just how much of a magical weapons /k/ommando the girl is. /tg/ agrees that she's socially awkward in an adorable manner.

Then, Maka asks if she can use the roof of the castle tower, to meditate and contact the Sun.

Of course, by "meditating", /tg/ means dancing naked under the midday sun until she has a divine vision. (Best religion ever)

Since this is pretty important and probably went a long way towards shaping Maka's (and /tg/'s idea of Maka's) character, here is the conversation she had with the UCS in full:

Of course, once she's done, Maka leaves the tower, still in a daze, and forgets to put her clothes back on until she's reminded by the astonished gaze of a soldier.

She has some more talk with Irene, where she spergs a bit more on Essence weaponry. Maka thinks about getting a gun for a moment, but then decides her own "guns" are more than enough. (I'm talking about her punches you perverts)

Irene is clearly happy to have someone she can actually talk with, and who is a good listener like Maka, so she asks her if she'll accompany her to dinner, probably not realizing immediately that its basically a date.

With the help of Millian (mostly because she thought that the field armor she had worn all day was a sensible dress choice), Irene changes into something more stylish, and you have a nice dinner together downtown.

Of course, Most of the stuff Irene wants to talk about doesn't interest you can you can't even understand it, but you just listen until the real subject of discussion comes through: Millian realizes she's... kind of autistic about magical engineering, and that that bores everyone around her to death. She has no friends, no one around which she can just be herself. Ans she realizes Maka is just feigning interest to be polite.

Maka, being the social monster she is, turns the tables on her, replying that she shouldn't be ashamed or feel bad about being smart or gifted. And kisses her.

The two spends the rest of the dinner making small talk, or at least with Maka trying to explain her how to make proper small talk. And then they spend the night in bed together.

Next day, we finally get to have a talk with Amata, who is still a bit upset that Maka spooked her citizens.

So as punishment she'll have to help repairing the city walls with Samiel (so that everyone in town can see that she's on their side), while wearing a maid uniform.

While preparing for this bizarre punishment game, Maka stumbles into a letter addressed to her.

From Phoenix, the abyssal from the day before.
He basically says that he wants to talk things over, and that they don't want to destroy the town or hurt the citizens, but capture it intact. Which is very much not regular Abyssal modus operandi. He also asks to keep the letter a secret.

Maka and Samiel then journey north to a quarry escorting a caravan of stonemasons to extract materials for the repairs to the city walls, and find the area deserted.

We learn that the northern half of the island of Tianna is inhabited by barbarian tribes, who mostly keep to themselves and don't interfere with the city folk. And we find that, despite this, some of them set up camp in the quarry, outside of their territory, and have been killed by, according to Samiel, an Exalted. and not an Abyssal.

Maka then ventures into the forest nearby and meets with someone named Talon, who informs her that he is not an enemy but she has to remove herself from his territory. Everything north of the quarry is barbarian lands. He presumably attacked some of his own people who disobeyed him and went down to cause trouble with the city-dwelling folk, probably because he didn't want them to spark a war.

We invite him to Tianna to have some talks because Abyssals are around and we need to work together.

>>35042206 Yes. >>35041957 was drawn by a player in one of my old Exalted games, a good friend of mine and an amazingly talented artist. Maka helps with carrying the stone back to Tianna, pushing her essence-boosted strength to the limit. In the process, she has somewhat of a minor epiphany, asking herself why she's doing all this, and realizing that, with how things are shaping up to be, people have to hang together or hang separately. Plus, Amata protected her and gave her shelter when she was a Mortal, and she has won Maka's respect and loyalty in that and other ways.

Of course, when she finally gets back to Tianna, she has to be carried to bed. At least now she knows what her limit is.

She's given a massage by Amata in person, though it's probably at least 50% an excuse to have some private time together. Maka tells her everything that happened, and they conclude that they are probably Lunar Exalted and an alliance with them would be just what Tianna needs right now that it's under threat by a Deathlord.

Also, Maka tells her about Phoenix's letter, they exchange some ideas and theories, and Amata mentions the fact that Tianna also has some Lintha spies hiding around.

(tl;dr Lintha are demon-blooded, insular, xenophobic pirates. They are not quite human as they descend from an even more ancient race, and their cruelty and viciousness is downright legendary in the West)

Then of course some skinship is had, together with the mention that Amata knows that Maka has bedded her daughter and she's okay with that. They're both older than her anyway, and can look after themselves.

(Millian unrelated but I'm trying to post all of the NPCs bit by bit.)

Millian comes in shortly afterwards, actually, when Maka decides she needs a proper outfit, and Millian, with her Maid Eyes and her superpower of being able to tell body measurements at a glance, accuses Maka of being unrealistic.

In the end, the two bicker a bit, and agree that Maka's strong point in social situations is her sex appeal, so she needs an outfit that will accentuate it. pic related.

She then finds out that it belonged to Amata when she was young.

She then tests it to see if it's effective. On Samiel. Turns out it is, and she is chased out by him for interrupting his troops' sword-and-board drills.

She then has another chat with Irene. Tianna has a large supply of magical weapons, it turns out, but most of those need a supply of Essence to work. Essence in Exalted can come, generally, only from Awakened mortals (which requires incredibly difficult training, a blessing from a god, mad scientist alchemy, magitek implants or somesuch), Exalted and other magical beings, or Manses, of which Tianna has only three.

(tl;dr a Manse is a magical batcave that channels ambient magic into a stone with magical powers called a Hearthstone, which is basically a Materia from FFVII down to the ability to fit in slots in weapons and armor)

Tianna is also quite short on Jade itself, which means that, other than those essence-discharge weapons, it doesn't have much other magical weapons. Supposedly Tianna found an ancient weapon cache that only had this sort of unwiedly firearms and nothing with, like, artifact swords.

(tl;dr magical stuff in Exalted is made from one of several magical materials, generally. Jade is the most common, associated to Dragon-Blooded. the fact that Tianna is short on Jade means that apart from those essence-discharge weapons, that were found, not made, they have little "simple" magical equipment like swords and armor)

Irene puts up an order for the most skilled blacksmiths in Tianna to forge a pair of combat gauntlets for Maka, from mortal steel, but with all the skill they can muster.

Also it turns out that due to constant Lintha attacks Tianna, despite being an island nation, has a very small navy and few sailors dare to trade with other lands or travel far from the coasts.

The barbarians' delegation comes, about 50 warriors strong for a nice show of strength, and camps outside the city.

Maka also receives another letter. It just says:

>Crossing of Main Street and Shark Boulevard. Be very careful. Keep this for yourself. Don't talk about it. Walls have ears. Destroy this letter.
>Signed: A friend. -M.

Maka goes to the indicated point, waist a bit, is intercepted by Amata, and tells her everything.
Amata drags her to a teahouse with an excuse, and once they're off the street and absolutely sure that they're alone she berates her for talking about that in a public place in front of other people. She explains this "-M" fellow works for her, as counterespionage. He just recently returned to Tianna, and is apparently somewhat of a free agent. He acts on his own with no oversight, but Amata seems to completely trust him. She didn't knew about the letter, and isn't sure why -M contacted Maka directly like that.

Of course, with the Lunars about to walk into town and the prospect of someone attacking them and sparking a war between the northern barbarians and the city of Tianna, both of them are pretty nervous.

At night, three Lunars, claiming to represent the confederation of tribes living in northern Tianna and known as the Three Rivers, introduce themselves at the city gates. Their leader is Talon, showing up in a half-human, half-wolf hybrid either out of habit or to be intimidating (and he is).

The second looks almost like a kid, androgynous, wild-looking and energetic, who seems to have come just for the prospect of free food, introducing himself as Zaan White-Teeth.

The third is a sharp-looking woman carrying a large, rapier-like silver blade, wearing, for some reason, an elegant wedding dress. She doesn't seem to blink at all, and keeps her eyes fixed on Maka. Her name seems to be Tia

As you head back to the castle with your guests, you decide to check once again the point mentioned in the letter.

You find there five suspicious-looking individuals about to roll three barrels of firedust (setting equivalent of gunpowder AND napalm) with lit fuses into your guests.
They're Lintha. Jagged teeth, discolored skin, gills, unnaturally-colored eyes, webbed fingers, fins on their sides or arms, at least one tentacle.

And they have two Erymanthoi with them.

(th;dr an Erymanthus is a common type of demon often summoned as muscle. They are bear-sized devil-apes with horns and thorns and quills and claws and teeth and a very bad attitude.)

Also, as soon as you left the group to check the alley, Tia followed you, looking almost possessed, apparently so obsessed about you that she didn't even notice the terrorists. "Fianlly, I've found you." she says.

Maka immediately tries to stop the barrels, but they would have blown up in her hands if someone didn't cut the fuses with throwing knives, from the shadows. However, in the middle of the fight, Tia bites Maka and licks her blood, then mumbling "it's really you" as if recognizing you by taste.

Maka manages to scream her out of her psychopath trance and redirect her to the Lintha.

Fight scene ensues, with some fire support from the mysterious individual flinging knives in the dark of the night. The attackers are quickly dispatched, with you uppercutting a Blood Ape three meters into the air and Tia casually ripping off the other one's head.

In all this you catch sight of the man helping you - a thin guy, tired-looking, bags under his eyes, but well-dressed. He smiles at you and disappears.

At the end of the fight, you try to clear things with Tia, but she acts like she's finally reunited with a long-lost lover, and also like a crazy psychopath who seems one minute away from raping you. And she is also actually physically stronger than you on top of that, so all Maka can do is try to talk some sense back into her before the situation gets too out of hand.

Of course it all ends up with a very weird scene where they basically wrestle a bit and try to rape each other, until Maka manages to calm her down. She then has a bit of an emotional breakdown.

Tia speaks in short, awkward sentences, like she's not entirely sure how to relate to other human beings. She explains she's come from Halta (basically the other side of the world). She's been on the run, chased by other Lunars (she namedrops a Ma-Ha-Suchi) for some kind of betrayal, but also looking for you. And claiming, rather adamantly, that your soul belongs to her, and her soul to you.

No matter how little sense that makes.

She also refuses to let go of Maka. The two of them spend some time together while the diplomatic talks go on between Talon and Amata.

(She seems to be especially disappointed that Maka has only two lovers. She was expecting a lot more from you)
>>
>>35043400
Amata didn't yell at us for fucking the DB
>>
>>35043360

>>
>>35043477
We were also about to leave without fucking him when he stopped us
>>
>>35043486
That changes absolutely nothing about the point I was making. The point was we didn't "fuck as a strategic move to get him to leave the city". That had already been solved by that point.
>>
>>35043374
And what's wrong with that response? It works, with maybe the rare exception of Fae shit, it's one of our most valuable tools.

In fact, I like that about Maka, she uses sex as an expression of love and compassion and a tool to get things done. The communal gang bang was perhaps the one moment where it wasn't a good idea, in part because it was merely to facilitate Maka's own lust (also an expression of the Great Curse, which isn't necessarily Maka's fault anyway)

Maka's a slut, that's a part of her character. It isn't the only part, but it's the part I see a lot of you anons complaining the most about and projecting your own values on intimacy onto the character
>>
Man, why are you whinning about? The festival went almost perfecty, just the ending that didn't have enough successes for maximun lewd. I liked how it ended, and don't care if Maka did hundreds of mortals. It was special, a once in an year thing, and even got Dancing Smoke in it.
>>
Screwing DBs are a major upgrade from screwing random mortals so i'll take that as a win.

Lets leave the orgies to festivals.
>>
>>35043328
To be fair, its more that the voters, or at least a large part and some dedicated samefaggers, are more interested in Maka slutting around then character development. So there isn't really anything that can be done about that. Its player choice, afterall.
>>
>>35043514
Maka's problem wasn't too much sex, it was not being able to fucking control herself, and since the festival and Amata's talk with her she has toa greater degree than before at least
>>
>>35043550
But there WAS character development. She acknowledged that there was a problem and now she's restraining herself.
>>
>>35043550

You manage to talk a bit with Tia once back in the castle, asking her a bit about the other two Lunars and about Exaltations in general, then you go back to the dining room where everyone else is... including the guy who helped you in the fight before, the knife-throwing guy.

Also Tia informs everyone assembled there that you are her wife.

Talon helpfully informs you that it means that you're apparently her Solar Mate. Each Lunar Exaltation is bound to a Solar one, a connection that transcends even reincarnation. Of course, not all Lunars are as obsessed or crazy about it as Tia is, looks like she's a special case.

But in general the result of the talks is that if Tianna can help the Three Rivers get rid of a Fair Folk infesting the west side of the island, they'll have an alliance.

(th;dr Fair Folk are basically fairies, but the asshole, super powerful bogeymen of legend, not fucking Tinkerbell. They live in the Wyld, which is the chaos beyond the world, and can reshape reality to their whims there. They also feed on human emotions and souls)

You'll need more help of course, because you can't use Tianna's troops for this and leave the city unguarded. So Tia suggests you recruit some pirates. Not the Lintha, normal human pirates. There is a haven on some nearby islands.

Another help can come from the island's volcano god. Amata doesn't seem to have much love for gods in general, and that one in particular, since in the West volcano gods have a habit of assuming they're entitled to human sacrificed. But you're free to try and persuade her to help.

Also, the person who helped you in the alley is -M, the guy who wrote the letter. His name is Mikahil, and he's a solar too: an Eclipse Caste. He wasn't sure he could take on the Lintha ambush by himself (he's not much of a combat guy), he also wasn't sure who he could ask to for help, and he couldn't inform Amata without the risk of the info spilling on her court, so he decided to inform only you.

>>35043627

>>35043578

Sure, we didn't have a situation come up anymore where that would be tested, but I'm willing to bet, the same thing will happen again, because no matter how much "character development" Maka goes through, it doesn't change the player votes.

>>35043608

The rest of the night is mostly spent with Tia annoyingly boasting to everyone how amazing her wife is, making small talk with Mikahil, and, once that Tia bullies you into bringing her to your bedroom, complaining because you don't sleep on animal pelts or have the skull of your enemies hanging from the wall to show everyone that you are not to be messed with or some other nonsense.

She also insists for climbing into your bed a few minutes before you so when you get in it it's already warm.

The only complaint was some people saying they disliked how far the festival scene escalated, and made clear its because they would like for Maka to have some standards in her who she fucks and that it doesn't become a trait overshadowing her character.

And you are the one who keeps trying to insult people on the internet for having a opinion you don't like. That is pretty much the definition of butthurt.

If you want to keep discussing it, then go make your own threads or a IRC channel to circlejerk in your arguing and faggotry and leave the rest of us to continue playing this
>>
>>35043846
Do you not know what promiscuity means? By the very fact people are voicing their dislike how the festival scene escalated into a communal orgy means they dislike the wantonness of her actions, her... promiscuity.

And no, I feel no particular shame over this debate. I called you a faggot because you were acting like one not because I'm particularly upset with you. I'm a bit frustrated now, but that's because I'm a baffled that your taking personal offense to being called a faggot on 4chan.
>>
>>35043816
Thanks for the thread EF, I'm looking forward to getting back on track and more Tiatime(TM).

If the retarded anons won't stop sperging about that topic just tell them to shut up, its been discussed to death by this point, any more and its just derailing threads.
>>
Speaking of the festival, it's time for me to wave my dick. And deculture's too, I guess.

Be happy it's not of the festival's glorious ending. Though I am considering ordering a comission for the festival's orgy now.

>>35041440

Fun fact, that pic was supposed to be this one, but it was too complex for the drawthread, so I had to comission this one. There is also a heretic version of this picture with a white chocolate tits Maka instead of chocolate tits Maka. Also a weird mix of brown chocolate Maka with white chocolate tits.

Exaltedfag, I thought you had received the chibi Maka on twitter? I might have messed up, twitter is a complex tool.

Anyway, I suggest you pre-write the summaries, and I'd prefer if you did the festival's summary to avoid any biased opinion sneaking into it.
>>
Okay I'm a completely new guy, someone mind explaining this?
Great Curse? Super orgy?
>>
>>35043881
I can see why you'd want to recap and try and get established readers to reinvest and/or find new readers.

Your problem is that recap threads aren't hugely interesting to your established base, so it tends to be shitposting general. This also means there is a lot of noise for new readers.

I agree with >>35043940 's comment too.

Maybe a shortish pastebin, I really don't know what the answer is.

The scene was fine.
>>
>>35043954
>it was obvious as hell at the time
No, it wasn't. It was the after-the-fact explanation, but it wasn't "obvious" because no one would ever think that Makas promary Virtue would be Temperance, thats just bullshit.
If Maka wants to fuck the entire Exalted Host I don't care, but saying "it was obvious" is just nonsense.
>>
>>35044042
uhh, I think you forgot the pic
>>
>>35044059
It was very clear in character, and in the story, and if you can't see that, go and reread it and shut the fuck up.
>>
>>35044042

Ah fuck, forgot the picture.

And I can't post from my phone.
>>
>>35043881
OP, I may not be involved with that particular argument, but I think at some point it makes sense to recognize that some people (and some poster on /tg/) just enjoy arguing. It's an interactive activity, can potentially be competitive even if the debate it engages is asinine, and helps pass the time between posts. Now, I'm not commenting on whether the people engaging in arguments in your threads remember that you actually go through every post between updates instead of assigning an arbitrary time limit for discussion, or that you tend to have limited windows in which to access /tg/ to read debate and craft your next posts...so I'm guessing at least some of them don't realize that rehashing dead issue literally has a destructive effect on the quest rather than just taking their own minds off the wait between posts.

Anyway, just wanted to say I'm really glad to see you and Maka back.
>>
>>35043881
I'll stop, Exaltedfag. And for the record I think you've handled it fine, I already attributed that scene to the Great Curse and shit.
>>
>>35044042
>Exaltedfag, I thought you had received the chibi Maka on twitter?
He probably doesn't have tweetdeck, and is using default twatter, which makes seeing messages and tweets send to you a fucking pain in the arse
>>
>>35044074
The point was that is not how Limit Break works.
>>
>>35043992
I made a single sentence in a spoiler deliberatly so that no arguing would ensue, and yet people could not let it be and started drumming on it for some reason, the "Festival was kinda bad" guys, did not start this argument.
>>
>>35044054
The Great Curse is a a curse that was placed on all Exalted except for Alchemicals, which didn't exist at the time, and Abyssals which had their curse removed when their shards were altered long ago that makes them occasionally act in extreme ways they otherwise wouldn't
The orgy was something that happened ~15 threads ago, we slept with about half a city in a bout of Curse induced madness.
>>
>>35044113
'Limit' doesn't exist in EF's system, so apparently that is how it works.

And it's clearly a Compassion break, not a Temperance one. She fucks everyone because she loves everyone, and loves loving everyone. Most breaks are taking your virtue to extreme levels, not doing the opposite of your virtue.
>>
>>35044054
Awhile back we had crossed a big hurdle by beating the Fae who lived on the island we're on.

This super ultra orgy happened at a festival we agreed to hold for a volcano goddess in return for her assistance in the battle. We basically got caught up in the moment and things.... escalated.

The Great Curse is something that affects every single Exalt in Exalted, but to differing degrees. For Solars like us it's basically a perversion of our greatest virtue.

I'd like to think that ours is Compassion, and since we were already an extremely sexual character we just went into mega orgy mode and fucked the entire festival, or at least several hundred people.
>>
>>35044139
It was barely a thousand people.

But yeah, we went WAY overboard.
>>
>>35044054
Great Curse. Short version is a curse lain on Exalted by the creators of the world, whom the Exalted dethroned. The curse takes effect as impaired judgment, obsessive behavior and inflamed passions and eventual insanity.

Super orgy.
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/31510225/
Short version, MC gets involved an orgy. (No kidding)

Someone else take this part, i'm biased.
>>
>>35044054
Okay, so... look, how do I begin?

There's these guys, Primordials right? They made everything ever and represented high concept shit above and beyond Gods. After reality was made, they made Gods to dick around to take care of it and Geased them so that their children would never give them flak for basically dropping reality on their doorstep.

Gods found a loop hole, however, in Exaltation. By giving mortals bits of their power, they could circumvent the Geas by using these empowered mortals as proxies. The mortals, the Exalted, did the gods bidding and gave flak to the Primordials and then some

The Primordials, beaten and outsmarted, cursed the Exalted with their dying breaths. That curse manifests in aberrant and excessive behavior, things like extreme anger, abuse, sex, greed, pride, etc. The ones who were effected by this the most were the Solars, those blessed by the most powerful God Sol Invictus. The rest got minor forms of the curse, but the Solars were a big sticking point

Eventually the Solars got super corrupt, the other Exalted had a choice to work with the Solars to get over their corruption or revolt against them and slay them all

They chose the latter
>>
>>35044158
>And it's clearly a Compassion break, not a Temperance one
There is a Sample Temperance Flaw that describes exactly what happened there, Overindulgence.
I can understand the Compassion explanation, even though I would think Makas primary Virtue would be Valor.
>>
>>35044042
>Exaltedfag, I thought you had received the chibi Maka on twitter? I might have messed up, twitter is a complex tool.

Did I? I can't into twitter.
If you're the guy drawing these, you are amazing and I'd love if you could repost here anything related to Exalted Quest you might have :D

>>35044054

The Great Curse is something all Exalted suffer. In-character, no one knows about it. It basically makes sure that all Exalted have some sort of "flawed hero" deal where they have really a giant problem or weak point caused by their own personality flaws. It's a curse cast by the Primordials, the guys who created the universe, after being defeated by the Exalted (yep, they're that awesome potentially).

What happens is that sometimes Exalted just slip and lose control over their emotional side.

Some cry and shut down when overwhelmed by horror or cruelty, some become assholes and hurt people for their own enjoyment or lose all sense of morality, some suddenly decide to become monks or hermits, others fly off the handle and start punching everything they think is an enemy
>>
Thanks for the information guys, that cleared it up a lot.
>>
>>35044230
>even though I would think Makas primary Virtue would be Valor
You would be wrong. Go back and look at our history of virtue votes. We're Compassion as our primary, and Valor secondary.
>>
>>35044208
To be fair, I don't think the Lunars killed any Solars, most just got the hell out of dodge while some stayed and fought with their Solar mates.
>>
I love that the thread stopped arguing instantly and like 6 different dudes took time to explain to the new guy what was going on.
>>
>setting and pc permissions to do the most of anything, to literally shape the world by your own divine will and the sweat of your caste-marked brow
>/tg/ uses the chance to have the most sex of anyone, since that's what female characters are for

Why would you even give the virginal hordes attending quest threads Exalted?
>>
>>35044279
"Fuck fun" -anon 2014
>>
>>35044279
Same reason why some doods decided to give tg pantsless magical girls i guess?
>>
>>35044279
Its the ideal game for it really. Having massive amounts of sex is a staple of the game, the sourcebooks themselves can't shut up about it.
>>
>>35044273
We're alright people in the end
>>
>>35044328
Not to mention if we were Dragonblooded we'd be considered weird for NOT participating in massive orgies
>>
>>35044273
Actually EF I was a bit curious about how DB Teamwork charms work, do you have them all in this setting?
>>
>>35044237
>Did I? I can't into twitter.
EF, get tweetdeck, makes it SO much easier to use.

And no, he isn't the one who drew them, that would be Deculture, who runs Magical Girl Noir Quest, he does drawthreads everynow and then for quest related requests
>>
>>35044279
That's just one aspect of her character and thing she's done, we've also destroyed a Wyld Zone and made a Raksha Noble our Familier, we're working on expelling the Lintha from the area, and we're also preventing Abyssals from taking the island, which is also a Directional Titan.
Also EF has insinuated there's a Sidereal somewhere about, no doubt with PLANS
>>
>>35044354
Thats not really the case, unless you are House Cynis, then its totally the case.
Dragon-blooded have a rep for fucking around a lot, but its mostly not orgies, because Bastards and purity of Aspect and all that.
>>
>>35044313
>I can find pornography outside of /tg/ and thus find the middle school need to shoehorn it into ANY activity they can exert a little control over tiresome at best
>>
>>35044237

Ahahaha, unfortunatly, I can't draw at all. I just requested a couple of pica in deculture's drawthread and comissione another one. (I will post that in 4-5 hours, if the thread still exists)

Do you lurk the QM channe on IRC? I'd love to talk with you about Maka things.
>>
>>35044323
Of course the magical girls are pantsless, magical girls wear skirts. Unless you're saying they don't wear those either, in which case the outrage is justified.
>>
>>35044279
>Exalted
>not about having fucking a lot

Maka is pretty true to Exalted as a character.
She does a whole lot more fighting then fucking when it comes down to it.
The Festival scene is only something some people are mildy irrate at, and some people get extremely defensive over so its kinda blown out of proportion
>>
>>35044423

I don't, got banned out of it for something so inconsequential I don't even remember but that apparently pissed off a mod. Or maybe they just wanted someone to ban I guess. I do spend some time in the suptg IRC chat though.

After that ban I'm not exactly keen on going back to the QM channel in general as you can imagine.
>>
>>35044498
Well the thing that makes it so tiresome to hear about over and over again is that EF dealt with people's dissatisfaction as character development.

Maka did some introspectin' post coitus and decided to rein herself in.

So people continuing to chime in that they didn't like the festival scene at this stage of the game is just a bothersome echo.

You didn't, that mod just randomly kicks people for shits and giggles, as one of the other mods there, let me say, you ain't banned and your more than welcome to join it anytime.
>>
>>35044529
I once got banned for asking if anyone else thought Log Horizon's theme song was shit, so I know that feel about inconsequential shit that leads to ban.

Uhh dude you didn't get banned, I'm checking the logs and theres nothing there, you probably caught Ash when he was just pissy, he does that to everyone and isn't indicative of the rest of the channel.

Yeah, Ash really should stop randomly kicking people for no reason, I'm glad the other mods are sensible
>>
>>35044606
>banned
Unless you were spamming chat and harassing people, or doing illegal stuff, then no, you did not get banned, we don't ban people from it unless you do that.

Like I said in >>35044584 you probably caught Ash at a bad time.

So please, let me make this clear, neither of you were banned, and you are more than welcome in the channel.
>>
Has the thread been archived yet?

>>

What have been the other things?
>>
>>35044682
Not much really. She just fucks around a lot with the royal family and Tia. Once she had group sex with a whole grtoup of water elementals.
Her sluttiness is seriously overstated before then.
>>
>>35044682
For starters this >>35042716 is our outfit 90% of the time. Also we had been having sex on a regular basis beforehand, and had group sex with our Lunar mate and the Royal Family the night before I believe, though that may have been after, I don't recall perfectly.
>>
>>35044721
>>35044749
That seems like quite a large jump to make, from the sounds if it, it seems like she'd have taken twenty times the partners she had before in a single night.

>>
>>35044783
Well, that's the Great Cure mate, super excessive behavior. There's a reason the Dragon Blooded all said 'fuck this' and stabbed the Solars in the back
>>
>>35044783
I did say it was the most extreme thing we've done thus far, and we've scaled back a bit since then so we're unlikely to top it.
>>
>>35044822
*Curse
I'm not sure a Great Cure is a thing
>>
>>35044749
There's also that time we had sex with Tia and that tribal chief
>>
>>35044848
Well maybe if someone comes up with a solution for The Great Curse.
>>
>>35044814
Well, from the sounds of it, it does seem like that way. The amount described in the thread was somewhere within the regions of triple digits, which is anywhere from 100, to 999. Taking it somewhere in the regions of 150-200, I would say twenty times the partners was a little too high, but from the events described to me, it seems like 5-10 times the amount is a reasonable estimate.
>>
>>35044863
That was afterwords, they wanted examples of things we had done before hand.
>>
>>35044584
>You didn't, that mod just randomly kicks people for shits and giggles, as one of the other mods there, let me say, you ain't banned and your more than welcome to join it anytime.

The group sex with the royal family was before. And Amalia was not very happy with having been part of the same pile as her children.
Which is a shame because I really want Amalia and Irene more often together
>>35044682
Besides revealing outfits not much ?
She mostly sleeps with the Tia, Amalia, Irene, I think once with the Prince and Dancing Smoke.
Besides the promised gangbang of dozens water elemtnals, we didn't really have much in the way fucking around. Since we are married to Amalia, and technically similar with Tia.

>>35044783
In a way it was. Although it was more the "random people" that was the issue, Maka is otherwise not really about Quantity over Quality.
Its a stupid argument by itself, but its really just part of Exalted Quests version of Waifu wars, in which its mainly about who Maka should and houldn't fuck. Some people were mad about fucking the Dragon-blooded monks afterwards too, because some would prefer Maka to largely stick to her Harem, and some want her to fuck around more wantonly. It comes up with pretty much every character and let to some seriously idiotic decisions along the way.
I would suggest treating it like all waifu wars.
Seriously,. the fae guy thing ...

Not mad, but she did tell us in the morning asfterwards to not have it happen again, or something to that effect.
>>
>>35044279

Oh for god's sake. Exalted have a LOT of sex, because they're literally the only people in the setting who can do it risk-free. The Corebook has plenty of material that details how they can fuck around with little-to-no-consequence.

It's not as if the protagonist is in a monogamous relationship. Her partner literally does not give a fuck, and the God-Kings of Creation are expected to have a sprawling harem of pliant men, women and things-that-are-pretty close, up to and including ghosts and androgynous demons.

We get that you're insecure, but you don't have to project this hard.
>>
>>35044906

Here's the post where they talk about it

"...They think I'm a monster. And there's only one way to defeat that notion: show everyone that I'm not." You say. "Attacking them head-on... would just prove them right."

"You're not the brightest ruler ever, but you have your good moments, Maka." She ribs you.

"I just don't have all the experience you had." Beat. "'Cause you're old."

"Oh you little-"

After the short ensuing scuffle between you and Amata is broken off, you lie back down on the bed side by side. Tia then lies down by your other side, sandwiching you between the two of them.

"...If we're married, does that mean I had sex with my children." The thought suddenly hits you. "Both of them."

"Well, no blood relation:" Amata brushes it off. "Besides, still not at the same time, much less not at the same time plus their mother plus your husband all together."

"A shame." Tia shakes her head with disapproval.

"...Is it fine, though?" You wonder.

You feel Amata's tone going unusually cold and serious, taking a step away from her jokes up to a moment ago. "...Maka. I've spent years of my life in the Realm. I've seen... things, compared to which whatever orgy, whatever sexual deviancy you might have is NOTHING. I've seen, even done, things that make my skin crawl to this day."

You feel her arms gently wrapping you with their cool touch.

"Maka. You're a good person. You're honest, and you're kind. I trust you."

"Do you trust me?" Tia asks, pointing at herself.

"...Well, you seem to be even more of a pervert than Maka, but she trusts you, so I will too."

The scene

You entered this bed with Tia and Amata just after lunch, so barely after noon. And you're sure you've spent more than a few minutes here.

"...has it been twenty-four hours?" It slowly dawns on you, as you look around.

Tia, Amata, Samiel, Irene and Dancing Smoke are clinging to you from all sides in a disheveled pile of contorted bedsheets and blankets, all snoring peacefully in your same overcrowded bed.

"...How." You just mumble, your confused brain slowly recalling the images one after another.

Tia opens an eye. "Are you complaining?"

Still trying to cope, and frankly feeling a bit surprised by her, you just mutter a startled: "...no."

You mentally count up to three. On the count of three, just as predicted, Tia rolls over and straddles above you, calling "Second round~".

"You are CRAZY." You push her aside and, with a titanic effort, manage to stand up. You notice you're still wearing your tabard, only turned sideways. You turn it right before stumbling out of the bed. "One day, mark my words, Tia, one day, I will find a way to satisfy even you. I don't know how many people I'll have to involve, how many charms I'll have to learn, What artifacts to use or how much essence to spend, but one day I'll find a way to make YOU have enough."

"There can never be enough Maka~" She giggles, her eyes slowly rolling back as she hits the pillow. Before passing out, she manages to grab and give a light squeeze to Amata's upper thigh, gurgling in her half-awake state something like "mrrrhghh makaaa" before finally slipping back into unconsciousness.

To that stimulation, the already-fast-asleep queen responds by an almost unintelligible "mmm.... won't... fit..." before going silent.

Well, looks like you don't have to worry about your first two wives not getting along. Or is that a husband and a wife, or two wives?

You'll have time to figure that out.

And then we left the palace

I would say Maka's primary virtue is Conviction.

She is convinced to be a great ruler as she was destined to be, and thus holds herself to those standards. The fact that those standards mix Valor and Compassion as a cosmetic side is one thing.

Conviction in the idea of a perfect Ruler could explain her incessant need to try and do the right thing for the people behind her, trying to unite people and the ideas of a better tomorrow.

Its that burning conviction that allows her to be fearless in battle and adamant in politics yet at the same time become a able diplomat or a shameless courtesan, as the situation demands it.
>>
>>35046969
and besides that, we need to get our immaculate monk-spy into our harem
>>
>>35048020
Maka doesn't want Gem back because she thinks she'll be a great Queen, she wants it back because it's hers.

Conviction is such a broad Virtue anyway, you can apply it to almost anything with enough effort
>>
>>35048154
Conviction confirmed for best virtue.
>>
>>35045818
Having sex with Maka is very inspirational.
>>
>>35048020
Eh, Maka doesn't seem that forward thinking. Half the time it seems she does shit as a spur of the moment, with the conviction coming later. Honestly she seems convincting more because she cares about protecting the people around her

Also, Maka's thing with Gem seems like a long term, far off future goal. She doesn't come across as driven to be Queen of Gem again so much as like 'yeh I'll get around to it'
>>
>>35048020
>I would say Maka's primary virtue is Conviction.
We have literally never chosen a Conviction option.

We choose Compassion almost 100% of the time, with Valor being a distant second.

The monk left the island, that was the entire point.
The immaculates aren't going to come back. Its pretty much impossible for us to co-exist witht hem, since murdering the anathema is one of their core tenets.
Its actually the reason for their exsitence, though they don't know that.
>>
>>35049093
>core tenets
Fringe tenets, actually, it's just EXTREMELY RELEVANT to us. You know, in the same way fringe anti-abortion tenets are extremely relevant to people trying to get through a protest line at an abortion clinic.

>Its actually the reason for their exsitence
Also wrong. The Immaculate Faith/Order was used as a vehicle for a fuckton of useful social functions, of which the Wyld Hunt is only one. Its primary reason for being invented was because Heaven was in chaos, so the Sidereals smartly coopted the Dragon-blooded into policing the Terrestrial Gods in their territories instead.
>>
>>35049185
>Also wrong.
Yeah no. The Dragon blooded are considered the rules of creation in the immaculate faith due to their victory over the Anathema. They didn't need it for socvial functions, the order didn't exist as such during the Shogunate and they got shit done just fine. It exists mainly as vehicle for the Wyld Hunt and to foster hostility against the Solars.
>>
>>35049185
>. You know, in the same way fringe anti-abortion tenets are extremely relevant to people trying to get through a protest line at an abortion clinic.
Solars are pretty much the Main Anatagonists in the Immaculate Doctrin. They are definitly not of "fringe relevance". "Destroy the Anathema" is what the Sidereals keep the Order as organisation around.
>>
>>35049297
The Immaculate Order is just a tweaked version of the Immaculate Faith, which is the actual dominant form of Immaculate philosophy worldwide, and its core tenet is 'keep gods in line instead of worshiping them' followed closely by 'mortals have to obey, but exalts have to show noblesse oblige.'

Everything else is ancillary.

>>35049339
>Solars are pretty much the Main Anatagonists in the Immaculate Doctrin.
And demons are the Main Antagonists of Catholicism. The Wyld Hunt is about as central to Immaculate religions as exorcisms are to Catholicism.
>>
>>35049379
>And demons are the Main Antagonists of Catholicism.
That would be Satan, and yes, he is pretty important to catholocism.
And the catholic church didn't have to raise armies on a regular basis to fight of him mliterally walking on earth. The Immaculate Order has massive resources dedicated to the Wyld Hunt, exactly because that is their reason to exist.
>>
>>35049379
>The Immaculate Order is just a tweaked version of the Immaculate Faith
Äh, no. The Order is the organisation overseeing the following of the Immaculate Faith, the immaculate philosophy is what they have in Lookshy. The Immaculate Faith, the one represented by the Realm, is by far the dominant one.
>>
>>35049379
Are you serious ? The Immaculate Dragons are considered worthy of admiration because of their deeds fighting against the Anathema. And the Immaculate Dragons are the absolute core of the Immaculate Faith. They are defined by their opposition to the Solars.
Resisting the Anathema is one of the Five Noble Insights.
They are mentioned directly in what amounts to the Immaculates Eleven Commandments, only the have Ten.

Meh, "it was great curse" is boring shit.

>And if you think it didn't cause some character developement in Maka when she realized what she did, then I guess I'm a terrible writer.
It's not like you can do anything when the dick-thinking players spam votes for sluttery.
>>
>>35061963
Chip, meet shoulder.

Also there's a guy who wants to talk to you about axes and grinding.
>>
>>35061993
But seriously, curse is lame. If you apply the curse justification, then there is no possible character development or anything. It's the curse.

A character that had a moment of excess and is working on rectifying it is so much better.

Although of course given the pro-slut crowd still hanging, the curse does fit in all it's lameness.
>>
>>35062045

You're aware that the Curse is a big thing for Exalted, right? It's an actual game mechanic, not something you can sidestep. The First Age of Solars fell because the Solars were subject to the Great Curse, and it was slowly but surely turning these invincible god-kings batshit.
>>
>>35062045

What's there to rectify?
>>
>>35062045
>not being pro slut
>>
>>35062065
This. The Great Curse is an integral part of any Exalted Solar; the fact that Maka (through player decisions) has realised the perils of excess and resolved to step back from them *is* good character development in an Exalted context.
>>
>>35062065
>>35062209
No, no. The curse as written is inviolate. So if it was mechanically used, the character development does not matter shit: she WILL slut it up again in same overblown fashon. And also there is the aftertaste of "it's not her fault, so no point in changing anything!"

She just had a moment of bad judgement and overindulgence. She decided to reign that in. That's character development. Bringing in the curse only kneecaps that.
>>
>>35062239
Given that it's also mechanically possible to resist and/or mitigate the effects of the curse in game, you're entirely full of shit.

It's the exact same process as narrative overcoming of vices and flaws except it has mechanics assigned to it.
The Curse is an integral part of a Solar Exalted, and fighting it is a significant part of any Exalted campaign.

You really just sound like you hate it because it's has mechanics instead of being purely narrative.
>>
>>35062239
>She just had a moment of bad judgement and overindulgence. She decided to reign that in. That's character development. Bringing in the curse only kneecaps that.

Except it doesn't work like that. The Curse is ingrained in her psyche and affects her decisions just like any other form of mental illness or natural character flaw. It's not some fat neckbeard in her brain pulling levers and forcing her to go fuck a crowd.

That's why the Curse is such a fucking big deal - it's integrated into the existence of Solars on the same level as their soul and consciousness.
>>
>>35062278
1)The only "mitigation" for the curse is to always always follow your virtue, and that still leaves in unmitigatable triggers.
2)As written you cannot overcome the curse. Just a "NOPE!" holdover from 1e's ALL DOOMED setting. And that's why it's shit.
>>
>>35062290
>It's not some fat neckbeard in her brain pulling levers and forcing her to go fuck a crowd.
But that's exactly how the curse works by raw.
>>
>>35062291
If it's that shit, and you take this much issue with it, It would probably then benefit everyone involved if you kindly fucked off, then. Since you clearly want to play something that isn't actually Exalted.
>>
>>35062298
>RAW

Theeeeere's your problem.
>>
>>35062309
Hey, the other guy's argument exactly is "the curse is in rules so we must use it the way it's in rules!"

>>35062299
No u/
>>
>>35062324
Frankly, I'm not entirely sure who's arguing what.

Seems it started as "Curse is Shiiiit!" versus "Curse is not shiiiiiit!"

and ended up as "Curse as per RAW is SHIIIIIT!!!" versus "Curse as per rules AND fluff is NOT SHIIIIIIIIIIT!!1!"

I dunno
>>
What happened, happened. We can't change that.
Maybe when OP comes back we can talk about the mechanics for the curse, but I do doubt a retcon would happen at this stage, so lets shift the area of discussion away from that event.
>>
>>35062349
The curse as an external influence forcing totally innocent guys into being bad is shit.
>>
>>35062363
>Totally innocent
>Was no solar ever
>>
>>35062375
But see, it's the curse, it's not their fault!
>>
>>35062385
There were Solars before the curse. They were cunts too.

Facetiousness aside, You may as well be arguing that their other Solar abilities ruin the character by letting them bypass obstacles with them that un-exalted characters cannot; since the curse is just as deeply ingrained into their exalt as the rest of it.

You really seem to have a big hangup about this.
>>
>>35062385
Strictly speaking, neither is Being a Solar. They're just guys who got randomly pumped full of magic reincarnation-juice from a Shiny Bodybuilder for doing something vaguely awesome.

By definition; Exalted is all about playing a character that has all kinds of involuntary shit thrust upon them and making the best of it. The Curse is just one aspect of that.
>>
>>35062355
Personally I question the logistics of being able to have an orgy of that size anyway, especially if a singular person inside it managed to bed so many people.
I mean, just imagining if it was 100 people, if each one of them lasted 10 minutes, we'd be seeing this taking place over 16 hours, but ontop of that, we already know her harem would most likely be taking upwards of 5 or so hours. That makes it take almost an entire day.

Sure, I admit that I am not taking group activities into account, but I am also taking the minimum amount of people, as well as an exceedingly small amount of time per person. I would be surprised if anyone would even continue with other people if they came in under 10 minutes, it would seem to be a waste of time.

'sides, who said it had to be strictly bukkake? She's got at least three holes to use before she has to start getting messy with hands, feet, armpits, etc.

Given the amount of maiden tea she chugged afterwards it's pretty clear that she wasn't too concerned about making people pull out.

Assuming that it's 3 at a time with a number of 100, each group taking exactly 10 minutes, and instantly transitioning to the next group without cleaning off, or doing that sort of thing, it comes to 6 hours, a far more reasonable sum of time.

However, if you add in the time for our MC's partners to leave, and the next lot to enter and get into position, people who manage to go multiple times, people who extend past 10 minutes, people who put off cumming by changing position, any sort of cool down periods or cleaning periods, the time builds up dramatically.

>>35062510
Well, what I should have stated was cum fetish really, since if she can really get people off like that then it's likely that which is driving her.
Getting off on getting others off IS a point, but I haven't seen much evidence of it yet.

>>35062537
>it comes to 6 hours, a far more reasonable sum of time.

As stated before that, I've allocated about 4-5 hours for Maka's harem as well, so taking by the the groups of 3, 100 people, we have 6+5=11 hours, at the absolute minimum of people.

So, if we up the people a bit, say to 200, we come out with 11 hours, and end up with 16 hours total. Add in all of the things I mentioned >>35062537, that would easily come to 18 hours. So early evening to dawn seems to be a bit more of a daunting task as it is.

Now I'm not exactly sure of the culture, but I have a feeling that the men of it aren't exactly the type to get that closely packed simply to, essentially jerk off with a part of her body.
Especially considering that the entire city is in on this, making the availability of having an actual hole to fuck a lot more appealing than an armpit, unless you had a fetish for it of course, but then you'd have to be dealing with sloppy seconds, or well, sloppy twenties, fifties, etc.

>>35063967
No, sure, I get that, I understand that.
But the heat of the moment, would in that case made her frustrated, these people weren't as good as her normal partners, too normal, too fast, too weak, far too easy to tire. >>35064116
Okay, Imagine normal sex.

>>
>>35064151
So, I guess in that case >>35064044 has a point then?
>>
>>35064170
Quantity does have a quality all its own, that's how The Usurpation happened after all. Sidereals throwing Dragon-Bloods at Solars until they died.
>>
>>35064163
And as such, I don't think Maka would enjoy sex with normal mortals much at all, with superhuman everything, it would certainly be pleasing, however considering how much she would please them, it would almost seem like a wasted effort, they would finish and shuffle off, while she herself feels unsatisfied, the small intervals between the partner switching in and out, would leave her frustrated, leaving climaxes rare.

Meanwhile, with her own harem? Long continuous sex with super humans, not only that, but they know her weak points, how she likes to be treated, and they can do this for hours and hours on end.
It doesn't compare at all, she'd most likely get frustrated and end up with her regulars after 20 or so normal humans.
>>
>>35064235
So not only literally impossible to fuck that many people in one night, it also wouldn't even make Maka satisfied. Wow.
>>
I'll be the first to admit I'm an idiot when it comes to anything Exalted, especially this 'great curse'.

My biggest problem with the whole thing is that any time we hit a slutting vote, I lose interest because it feels like nothing else is going to get done in the thread. I get it, Maka fucks everyone she meets, she went a bit crazy with it during the Dancing Smoke thing. That was the one time it felt like Maka had an actual vice, rather than a hivemind railroad into a bed.

Is it possible to see the curse actually manifest as another vice that might be more interesting or have the constant sex 'vice' actually be interesting?

I enjoy the quest and the characters, but I can't help feeling like sex choices grind everything to a halt more often than not.
>>
>>35064203
See though, if Maka were a man, you may have had a point, as a man can easily switch between willing women at a moments notice, however in a proper gangbang that isn't simply a train, a woman has to be properly placed, ESPECIALLY, if they're super humans, otherwise dicks get broken, literally. So all of the careful lining up, preparation, etc, all of it would only make Maka frustrated rather than pleased.

>>
>>35064235
Don't forget that Smoke's ceremony was also sort of Maka's official introduction to the people of Tianna and that while Maka wanted to make a good impression, she thought it was probably more important to establish a firm base of support. If you haven't noticed, most of the positive intimacies we've generated in others (particularly those that started out not liking us) have been through flirtation and in the immaculates' case outright seduction.

I'm not commenting on the morality or intelligence of the situation - heck I tried to keep things under control because EF pretty much telegraphed that the Great Curse was going to kick in there - all I'm saying is the "but Maka wouldn't have enjoyed the sex enough to make it worth the effort" angle doesn't really apply here. Besides, I'm pretty sure the option voted on was basically "cut loose and party", while we went overboard that's still what we got.

Tl;dr - Look, now that you're aware of the Curse mechanic are you going to try to mitigate its impact on Maka or continue voting for actions with a good chance of activating the Curse, then complaining about the aftermath? I'm guessing you'll try not to lose player agency, right?
>>
>>35064456
I hope not, he sounded real tiered of hearing about it earlier in the thread.
>>
>>35064465
Player agency is a myth.
>>
Fuck me you tards are still going on about this.

This has gone beyond mere discussion and is now derailing threads and is off topic, don't bring it up in the next thread for fucks sake, thats what the Exalted Generals are for, for you retards to debate endlessly about things like this, so for the love of god shut the fuck up and stop shitting up these threads
>>
>>35064465
But you see, if the great curse is what I've heard it to be, all throughout this thread, then the notion that she cared about making a good impression would have flied out of the window, Maka would have cared more about pleasing and being pleased than the social implications of her actions, and as such, stopping through the mid-way of a barely pleasing gangbang to search out her far more pleasing companions would have been exactly the action one would have taken. Or am I misunderstanding everything here, and all of my writing has been for naught?
>>
>>35045006
Go to #QMC where Ash isn't the owner
>>
>>35064456
Why? Maka has superhuman control of her own body and unless she activates a charm it's not like she's particularly denser than the average mortal. Besides, we rolled well enough that no one got injured (besides dehydration, physical exhaustion and probably some annoying friction burns).

>>35064526

God, talk about something moderatly intelligent. Like what kinds of extingents you want to see in the story.
well aware that OP doesn't like them. Still a better idea than this crap
>>
>>35064519
Ok, point one: why would you possibly assume Tia wasn't involved in the orgy.

Point two, I can just as easily see Maka breaking and deciding that everyone should love her and the fasted way to make the love her is essentially through giving them the greatest carnal experience of their existence. This is still a selfish goal, it just more utility than hedonism.

Note, I'm not saying point two is true just that it's another, more cynical, valid interpretation.
>>
>>35064565
But that's stupid, EF said right here >>35043881 he's sick of hearing us argue about it. He doesn't care what points people may or may not have, he just wants them to shut up.
>>
>>35064565
Wait hold on, are you suggesting EF is going to retcon an event that happened five months ago because Maka probably didn't enjoy?

No.
I'm suggesting people are going to bitch, that's it.
>>
>>35064607
It's not like they ever stopped
>>
>>35064587
Point one: Tia was, however as shown, not actively with Maka throughout.
Point two: That is a valid interpretation, I can't fault you for that.
>>
>>35064565
Which will slow down the game since EF reads ever post reguardless of relevance, which is unfortunate if he feels the need to use one of his windows to respond rather than posting.

But seriously saying anything would be physical problematic about involving Maka in an orgy, especially one of her own making, really flies in the face of the setting and what the exalted are capable of. It's kind of silly.
>>
>>35064630
>Tia was, however as shown, not actively with Maka throughout.
Yes she was, Maka said she spent most of her time with her and Smoke

>Although you dedicated most of your time and attention to Tia and Smoke (and in her case, "attention" should be written in quotes. Tia has been especially rough with her), you also lost count of how many other companions you've had during the night.
>>
>>35064586
Chosen of Nysela. Mainly because Nysela, in addition to being the backup SUN, also has a onesided rivalry with Luna, and wants to take her place by the UCS side. Which, would probably mean that her chosen were designed to be better companions to the Solars than the Lunars. So drama ensues.
>>
>>35064630
Counter to point one: Maka and Tia are both superhuman, by that logic they probably needed to take some breaks from each other to recover (mere mortals would still be of use during these periods). Also, we've seen a few times that Maka has slightly better stamina and recovery than Tia, so I wouldn't be surprised if our lunar mate took some naps during the proceedings.
>>
>>35064682
So, basically we had a threesome with Tia and Smoke, while surrounded by a municipal orgy that we kicked off, and during that threesome people would join us from the masses for a time then return to their own partners or the crowd at large? But we basically had an open threesome?
>>
>>35062404
The curse is stupid. It means that Solars go bad, not because of the fact that they're godlike beings no one can question, not because of the fact that they're human beings who can misstep and falter, but because when they were dying the Titans applied a debuff to their Exaltations.

There is nothing really interesting there to explore, just a debuff in the upper right corner of your screen that occasionally fucks you up and/or you have to go on a quest to remove because it's fucking annoying. It turns the question of Solar authority into the Exalted equivalent of the Petrification debuff from the first Dark Souls. Annoying, dumb, and (hopefully) fixed in the next version (>implying they'll fix anything in 3E).

It also means the Bronze Faction was definitely 100% right and that Solars cannot and should not be allowed to rule so long as the Great Curse remains in effect.

It is mechanically awful, thematically wasteful (unlimited power would be perfectly fine if your Exaltation was still in mint condition), and makes assigning actual responsibility for (some of) their actions to Exalted arbitrarily more difficult.
>>
>>35064726
>>35064765
Now see, this makes a lot more sense, until we reach the absurd number of people that actually joined in.
If we take the 3 digit partners as people who actively joined in and fucked her, that is. If however you could state that they were not just that, but could have simply been passing people who groped, touched, kissed, etc, instead of getting fully involved, then the scenario becomes possible.

>It also means the Bronze Faction was definitely 100% right and that Solars cannot and should not be allowed to rule so long as the Great Curse remains in effect.
With the understanding that every other exaltation has the great curse and are thus no better rulers of creation, and in many cases less capable.
Solars are undeniably the most capable rulers of creation. And that's the problem, their capability.

Yeah, I just disagree. I think overcoming the great curse could make for a lot of good story and I'd much rather our particular brand of compulsion be organizing and participating in overly enthusiastic group sex acts than locking ourself away from the world for months/years to complete some project, murdering people indiscriminately or curling into a ball and crying in the middle of a battle because we couldn't save one particular person. I'm not saying we got off light, we didn't. I'm just saying that I'm looking forward to finding a way to beat the curse within EF's revised creation and that I'm glad we have sufficient motivation to make the effort.

You come a decade late with that observation. Yes, the curse is stupid, everyone knows it.
That has however no bearing on this story which follows the established setting, and therefore has the curse in place, it being a stupid idea or not.
Largely also because the things that make the curse stupid, have no real relevance to this Quests story.

As to the logistics of the orgy, the entire argument falls apart the moment you start considering that Makas partners there didn't need to be guys. In fact, most likely for the explained reasons most weren't.
>>
>>35064875
Overcoming the Great Curse can/could make for a good story... but it doesn't rely on the Great Curse being what it is, an insanity defense for all Solars whenever they do something incredibly shitty.
>>
>>35064849
The Solar exalted are Creations greatest saviors, and its most terrible threat.
>>
>>35064938
To be fair it isn't really that. The Great Curse is one specific trigger that makes them act fucked up for a while in a certain way. All the other fuck ups unrelated to the Limit Break are still very much possible, and a lot more common.
>>
>>35064925
>As to the logistics of the orgy, the entire argument falls apart the moment you start considering that Makas partners there didn't need to be guys. In fact, most likely for the explained reasons most weren't.
The entire argument falls apart when you take into account the fact that Maka is a Solar Exalted, and so doesn't need pitiful mortal things like "math" in order to fuck several hundred people in a few hours.
>>
>>35064938
I think the point is that the insanity defense starts breaking down when one is aware of their own insanity.

But let's back up a step. Does the insanity defense actually matter here? I mean, the great uprising happened because the god kings were becoming increasingly irrational, not because they suddenly started going terrible things. Where are you going with the insanity defense argument anyway?

And how many of Maka's charms apply to this situation then?
>>
>>35065086

Do you know nothing about the setting at all ? It just summons the sword out of "nowhere" which is a actual place in the Setting. It doesn't break any of these things.

>>
>>35065114
It's not about HER being good at sex, it's about her partners.
Because if she's THAT GOOD at sex, then there's no reason for her to fuck them in the first place, and if she isn't Just That Good, then it has to take time.
>>
>>35065136
>ecause if she's THAT GOOD at sex, then there's no reason for her to fuck them in the first place,
She was horny and DID fuck them. Deal with that.
>>
>>35065136
>then there's no reason for her to fuck them in the first place,
There's plenty of reasons left, there's more to sex than just the physical aspect of it, the mental and emotional aspects are just as important, more so for women
>>
>>35065134
That sort of attitude is what killed Three Kingdoms Quest, and has injured many, many others.
Admittedly, I think you're right, but I don't see what harm it could do at this stage.
>>
>>35064298
It's done and over with, anon. Maka's Great Curse is that she loses sight of her goals, prudence, and propriety in the face of causing and receiving pleasure. It can be mitigated, especially with the help of loved ones, but it'll always be with us.

At least we don't have one of the Curses where we enter a berserker rage and kill every living creature in our sight for 24 hours.

>>
>>35065136
>No reason for her to fuck them to begin with.
She wanted them to have a good time.
>>
>>35065114
Generally you expect a character to still have the written abilities that enable being "that good" at a particular thing, and none of Makas Charms do that here.
Its actually a common problem with Exalted constantly saying the sex is just part of the game like any other, and is still treated differently. You would expect Maka to have the appropriate Charms to be able to defeat hundreds of people in combat, so why then not expect the same thing for fucking them ?

But as I said, she probably got off hundreds of women and like a dozen dudes. Tia helped.
And as far as I remember it nowhere says she got off from any of the mortals, so that was probably all Tia too. The Mortals were just throw away sex toys between the two of them.

Depending on how the great curse manifests, I wouldn't be surprised for the "heat of the moment" to last for hours. Just look an any example that involves the compulsion to complete some large scale or complex project before doing anything else. Those can last anywhere from hours to months.
>>
>>35065245
Yeah no, the entire rest of the argument aside, thats just grasping for straws now. Maka has a t no point shown particular feelings for the people of Tianna at large. Her Cult sure, but even when she defended the city at the beginning it was to pay back the Queen.
She is very compassionate, but she nothing about her character ever implied she loves
everyone or some nonsense like that.

>>35065254
Tia was there. And yeah, she did probably the majority of the work on Maka.

>>35065270
>Fairly certain it was Maka's first massive gangbang while having superpowers.

Some great curse episodes last several days. 10 hours with good control over oneself is actually kinda mild, considering that you can enter a 2 hour rage where you try to murder literally everything, or fight an entire war by yourself any time someone calls you a pussy.

That, or the "Gotta finish the project fast" compulsions.

So, how far into Dawn charms do you think we need to go in order to get Elsewhere storage for weaponry? That feels like something we should really get. I know that Resistance/Zenith is where armor/clothing Elsewhere storage is kept - it would be cool to walk around with an entire wardrobe stored in hammerspace, for when we don't want to slut it up, or when we want to disrobe with a literal snap of our fingers.

If we get the chance - once we've picked up the other priority charms on our massive list - we should definitely get some of those, don't you think?

>>35065349
I'm not arguing she DIDN'T fuck some of them. I'm merely stating that all 3 digits of people seems like an excessive and exaggerated number, especially for how the scene has been painted.
>>
>>35065330
That doesn't work for clothing though, we would need Hauberk lightening Gesture for that.
Works for armor specifically, but there is no real restriction for that. Its Resistance too, so its a Caste Ability for Maka.
>>
>>35065349
A minute per mortal, considering the whole "Superhuman beauty" thing and superhuman Solar Dex is actually pretty feasable.
Over 10 hours, that's like 20 mortals an hour. That isn't really a stretch.

>>
>>35065403
No I meant it doesn't work really for clothing, as opposed to armor. Which is why I said "there is no real restriction", meaning it would be easy to handwave if Exaltedfag is willing to do so for several outfits as opposed to one armor.
>>
>>35065401
But, then we have to apply Tia and Smoke as well
>Although you dedicated most of your time and attention to Tia and Smoke (and in her case, "attention" should be written in quotes. Tia has been especially rough with her), you also lost count of how many other companions you've had during the night.
Making this an impossible task if she's actively taking 10 minutes to fuck every person.
>>
>>35065330
I know there's some Elsewhere charms in melee, but we don't have access to those at the moment, honestly it's better to not worry about that and stick with going up the Solar Hero Style tree
>>
>>35065426
No sure where you take 10 minutes from. We said one minute. Which is more then enough for Maka.
And "tripple digits" can be easily as low as 150. Meaning in a few hours she can have easily done all those, and then still have been mainly occupied with Tia.
Maybe there were some Heroic Mortals among those too, meaning she took some more time for a dozen or so, easily enough to lose track off in the haze.
>>
>>35065422
>>35065424
The way EF does charms, an armor-storage charm would almost certainly also let us store outfits - an entire wardrobe of accessories, clothes ranging from a barely-there tabard to an elegant ball gown, and so forth.

And as for weapons, there are times when our hands might not be the best choice. And when that day comes, it'd be rad as hell to be able to pull a cannon out of Elsewhere and shoot someone clear out of the sky.

But yes, like I said, there are certainly other priorities before then. Some more Night-based mobility charms rank highly for me, personally.

>>35065448
Hey, it depends on how deep in they are, really. Since it's all Dawn, instead of being specific skills, we qualify for everything equally. I expect any Dawn-based Elsewhere charm in this quest would let us store all weapons equally, instead of being Melee-exclusive.
>>
>>35065480
>there are times when our hands might not be the best choice
Thats what we wanted Gauntlets for, didn't we ?
