>Protag's Character Sheet (Updating as we go): http://pastebin.com/TR6aGHzu

Your mission, to investigate Kishibari Castle, home of the lesser noble Makoto Usagi. The castle is currently blockaded from all outside interference by a mob of peasants, operating with unusual military-like discipline. These peasants have prevented anyone from entering or exiting the castle, but weirdly have not broken or tried to rush down the doors.

You, Hikari, are in your small apartment, the windows drawn to keep the sand from blasting inside your home as you open your mission chest, taking stock of what you have available for you.

Inventory-
---300 ryo
---1 large scroll (4 feet in length)
---3 medium scrolls (2 feet in length)
---5 small scrolls (1 foot in length)
---1 iron chain
---50 senbon
---30 shuriken
---10 kunai
---1 tanto
---3 blood pills
---1 smoke pellet

Your stocks are not extremely diverse, but they are pretty standard for a Chunin like yourself. You have a few hours before the mission, what should you do?

>Seal all equipment in scrolls and don the scrolls
>Buy more specialized equipment
>Converse with your mission partner
>Combination/Other
>>
>>35043270
Buy a piercing blade for the end of our iron chain. Call it the scorpions tail
>>
>>35043380

You head over to a quartermaster and explain what you want and how quickly you want it. "Alright, we can have it done for you in a few minutes, and it'll cost 50 ryo." You agree to it and he takes your chain and gets it over to a smith.

As you have the chain worked on, you take a look around the depot for various devices and tools. Spare scrolls, ammo, other weapons, and then the area labeled "C-Class Specialty Items". You, being C-Class are permitted to purchase them as you head over and investigate some of the weapons.

A few pre-loaded Jutsu in scrolls, mostly Wind Style Jutsu, but a few general use Jutsu as well, fill the glass cases, which are locked and guarded by a seal.

After dawdling for a few minutes the Quartermaster returns with your newly improved iron chain, which now is half of a kusari-gama. "Is there anything else I can get for you today, miss?"

>Buy (write in your request)
>No, I'm alright (proceed to mission)
>>
>>35043380
>scorpion tail
>we have lightning chakra
>magnet the chain to ensnare enemies and shock them
We can buy some paralyzing ooison for our senbon at some point.
OP, do we have metal bracers on? We should have metal bracers on, for magnet hijinks ala our late mom
>>
What does health:60/30/15 mean, OP?
>>
>>35043533
[We could buy some if you want. We have no training outside of the basics in Martial Arts, though, so it wouldn't do us much good in that department]

>>35043579
[We can take 60 damage to go from Healthy Status to Injured Status, then 30 damage to go from Injured Status to Wounded Status, and then 15 damage to go from Wounded Status to Defeated. As we get more damaged we become less able to defend ourselves and complete challenges.]
>>
>>35043597
thanks for clarification, then I guess we're fine.
Maybe a cheap gauntlet to experiment with using it to deflect magnetized weapons easier by attracting them to each other.
>>
>>35043511
>No, I'm alright
>Converse with your mission partner
>>
>>35043668
yes, that
>>
>>35043668
>>35043637

You buy a heavy gauge gauntlet that doubles as a secret senbon launcher with the pull of metal wire. It costs 20 more ryo and you head out from the Quartermaster's.

You return home and pack all of your equipment into scrolls, keeping the non-combat items in the large scroll and all of the combat items across smaller scrolls, pack them into your flak jacket, and head to the rally point where Ran, a shinobi who was in your class, but not on your team, is already waiting and reading a scroll to pass the time.

"Ah, Araki, it's good to see you're early. Are we ready to go?" You tell the young man that you would like to get an understanding for what he has to offer on the battlefield.

The young man adjusts his thick glasses and nods, "Certainly, Captain. Well, I am a Genjutsu specialist and a sealing jutsu user. My specialties are infiltration and containment, which I believe is why I was picked for this mission. In combat I am limited in my usefulness, but Genjutsu can be a potent combination tool with your combat skills." Satisfied, you idly chat with the young man for a little bit more before the two of you head out.

A few hours later, night has settled down firmly on the area around Kishibari Castle. The darkness is broken by the dots of flames and torches in the camp near the castle. The two of you are perched up in a tree, keeping your bodies still and observing the surroundings.

(cont)
>>
>>35043762

From first glance there appear to be around over a hundred peasants, some in various states of armor and carrying tools they are brandishing as weapons. Ran produces a pair of binoculars and scans the area before reporting. "Captain, I don't see any signs of shinobi activity. However, they have the castle encircled totally and I cannot see an approach on foot that would allow us to access the castle. The easiest approach would be to scale the nearby tree and move to the roof. However, the moon is very bright tonight and would give us a very obvious profile. We can attempt entry through a window, but I cannot verify which windows are open and which are barred. Being on the walls for too long would expose us and ruin our cover. How do you want to approach?"

You close your eyes to analyze the situation...

>Go for the roof
>Write in solution
>Investigate more information
>>
>>35043813
Can't he genjutsu the peasents near a backdoor so they don't see us while we casually walk past them?
I guess we should look for an open window on the dark side of the buildig otherwise
>>
>>35043858
Mass genjutsu may be hard to do, but we can ask if he could do this as we take the roof route.
>>
>>35043872
If we play it riht, he may just have to do it to 2 or 3 guards
>>
>>35043872
>>35043858
[That's certainly an option. But chakra is a finite resource.]

"Let's take a look around." Silent as a shadow, the two of you move from tree to tree and get a more complete view of the castle. After a few minutes of scanning the area you determine the range of the peasant's patrols and notice a small gap in their patrols, every seven minutes when they march and change guards. Additionally, the gap appears directly beneath an open window.

"This seems to be to our advantage. If you're ready, Captain, we can move in five minutes when the gap appears."

The time draws closer and both of you ready yourselves to jump and scale the wall quickly. Your speed should make this easy.

>"Wait, let me go ahead first and make sure it's safe."
>"This is too easy, we should find another way."
>"Run as quickly as you can, Ran, we shouldn't be seen."
>>
>>35043813
Investigate for more information. We don't have chakra sensing so any one of those "peasants" could be shinobi.
>>
>>35043930
>"Wait, let me go ahead first and make sure it's safe."
>>
>>35043930
>let me go first
we'll check it out, the send a signal when the next gap appears if it's safe
>>
>>35043930
>Let me go first
>>
I think you should list our chakra affinity or whatever in the character sheet, Kuma
>>
Shit, I totally wanted to combine a senbon with an explosive tag, that way when we slide it into the enemy's body we can kill them almost immidiately
>>
>>35043973
>>35044007

"Wait here, Ran, I'm faster, let me investigate first." He nods and waits. You see the gap appear and jump towards the wall, charging your legs with chakra as you run up the wall in a flash of movement and leap through the room. You land in a dark empty room, intended for guests you assume as the room is spotless and the futon is nowhere to be seen. You check the door, seeing that no one is in the room first, and check everywhere for traps or something dangerous. It appears all clear to you. You draw a kunai and angle it to reflect the moon briefly to Ran who responds in kind. In seven minutes he stands next to you.

"Excellent, I don't believe they noticed us." At this point, both of you have decided to abstain from talking and use the sign language you were taught as students to communicate in silence. "What should we do now," the young man asks as he produces a map of the castle with his other hand. You both agree that, based on the height, you are around either the third or fourth floor, which places the master's chambers all the way at the top, on the fifth floor. From the map it looks like the stairs are in the center of the facility.

>Approach openly, why should we hide from our contact?
>Approach stealthily, you can never be too sure.

>>35044103
[Done and done]
>>
>>35044109
I don't think that's plausible. wrapping paper around a needle seems disadvantegous if we're trowing it, we have kunai if we really need to throw bombs
>>
>>35044123
Stealthily, always stealthily. Try to go between roofs or between walls if we can
>>
>>35044123
>Approach openly, why should we hide from our contact?
>>
>>35044126
We have MAGNET powers, we don't give a shit about that.
Get close, throw and use magnet powers to stab the senbon deep into their body, detonate, boom, they lose half of their body
>>
>>35044123
Approach with stealth, if you would be so kind.
>>
>>35044196
>>35044177

"Just because we're in doesn't mean we shouldn't be careful. Come on." You climb up to the roof and shift aside a panel, the crawlspace between the roof and floor of the upper story not leaving a lot of breathing room, but plenty enough for you to move. Ran follows, albeit much slower as he has to shuffle a bit more. You listen carefully to the story above you, once you've found an exit and climb out of the crawlspace with Ran. Judging by the height from the ground and the lack of a staircase you reason this to be the top floor.

Ran signs, "The lady of this castle sleeps there, and her bodyguard adjacent to her." You nod and approach the lady's room, waiting outside of it with Ran as you decide how to enter.

>Make a dramatic appearance, shunshin in like true shinobi and wake her up.
>Appear normally.
>Disable her bodyguard and then appear.
>>
>>35044185
Honestly, that's just unneccessarily overkill, and doesn't fit with our nickname. I also just don't like the idea, to be honest. We can aleady do electrocution through chain just with our base stats and a bit of lightning jutsu, I'd rather the go the quick and silent route, traps, poisons, ranged. Not gorey explosives.
>>
>>35044242
>Disable her bodyguard and then appear.
>Kneel before her.
>>
>>35044242
One of us appears, other watches (from cieling or somethig if possible)
make up a story of how the one not there(I guess Ran for backup surprise illusions) guarding the bottom floor stairs
>>
>>35044264
It's an idea, anon. Also one that quickly kills without any trouble, which is what a ninja should be doing, not caring about silly nicknames
>>
>>35044386
Something that kills quickly and wihout trouble is highconcentration venom-coated senbon
>quick
>silent
>no extra weight on senbon
not explosive tag senbon
>loud
>gore everywhere
>destroy body and possibly equipment

If we're bringing upnthe efficiency aspect
>>
>>35044421
Venom coating also, however is slow acting, requires training, also far more expensive and rare than explosive tags.

Not to mention,
>Loud
>Gore
>Destroy body/Equipment
These aren't downsides in a proper fight for our lives, in which this technique would help a lot.
>>
>>35044457
We always have to worry about enemy reinforcements and ambushes, anon. If a venom is deadly enough, it can paralyzie under half a minute or less.
I think we should work on jutsus and such for real fights, instead of tools, but I can accept your opinion
>>
>>35044242
Send Ran in to appear first before the security guard. If he doesn't let him in or tries to pull something funny, we take him down.
>>
>>35044504
Not sure how the first point is relevant.

Venom IS deadly enough, which is why usually it's a good idea to be trained in handling it first. Not to mention, half a minute is a lot of time in ninja land.
Finally, this is a simple, cost effective combination that can deal massive damage, with very little effort, which is why it has been suggested.
>>
>>35044297
>>35044334

"Ran, go disable her bodyguard, nothing painful, just a weak genjutsu should be fine, then tie him up. After that, go wait in the ceiling space, I'll approach her." He nods and vanishes from sight.

You appear next to the lady, a small displacement of air at the same time as your arrival. As you do, the lady lunges forward, a small knife wrapped in cloth in her hand thrusts towards her hand.

The attack is too slow to threaten you, so instead you grab her wrist and disarm her painlessly and easily, "Milady, there's no danger here. I'm from the Sand, here to help you." She sits up and you see her flashing angry dark eyes as she calls out, "Tora, come here!" There's no noise and she looks at you, "I don't appreciate this method of approaching me." She sighs and sits upright, "I assume you know the situation. The peasants outside are preventing anyone from getting in or out. What's worse, all of my guards have joined them, except for Tora. I think they have shinobi guidance. So, how do you intend to solve this?"

You pause and think about it...

>Wolf out the shinobi, if there is one, kill him, leave
>Find the shinobi, stealthily, and assassinate him.
>Kill enough of the peasants to get them to disperse, despite their training.
>Abduct and interrogate peasants until you find some answers.
>Other
>>
>>35044638
>genjutsu a peasent for info if we can do it safely
>assassinate the shinobi
>>
>>35044638
>Abduct and interrogate peasants until you find some answers.
Then find the culprit, and deal with them.
>>
>>35044638
>>35044683
seconding this
>>
>>35044638
>Wolf out the shinobi, if there is one, kill him

Is our mission only to kill the shinobi, or stop the rebellion as well?
If it is the latter add:
>Wait and see if the rebels disperse
>>
>>35044750
If we can get info/figure out who he is we can just toss the body into the crowd of peasants.
>>
>>35044638
>>35044683
I'd say this as well.

You started our earlier than I expected, QM.
>>
>>35044715
>>35044683

"Gen, try to find a lone peasant if you can, abduct him and try to extract information from him." You hear his movement as the lady grabs a nearby kimono and pulls it on over her sleep-wear. She stands up and looks at you angrily, "Well, the least you can do is free my bodyguard. I don't see why you felt the need for such a vulgar display, I'll be sure to inform your superiors." You acquiesce to her wishes and untie the man quickly. The large bodyguard stands up, towering over you easily.

"That was a filthy shinobi trick. Attacking an honorable warrior in his sleep is a cheap tactic." You can see from his haircut, his weapon, and his garb, that he was, at least at one point, a samurai. The man brushes past you and heads into his lady's room and kneels next to her, starting to brew tea. It appears that your contact doesn't appreciate your methods very much.

You should...
>Keep quiet and professional, mission only.
>Try to be courteous to her and make a better impression.
>Help Ran in his efforts.

>>35044815
[Got home a bit earlier than I expected.]
>>
>>35044914
Professional but courteous?
>>
>>35044914
>Keep quiet and professional, mission only.
>>
>>35044914
>Try to be courteous to her and make a better impression.
>>
>>35044914
>Professional, but if they talk to you be polite.
Ran can handle his own job.
>>
>>35044914
>Professional but also be at least a bit polite.
>>
>>35044914
"I apologise, from the circumstances he could have been a hostile, I did not want to take the chance of him raising the alarm, I hope you can understand."
>>
>>35045027
I'd vote to add this type of apology as well.
>>
>>35045027
Yeah, we didn't want to risk causing a ruckus that would alert anyone of our presence
>>
Does anyone else think this whole mission is weird? If the peasants (or the shinobi controlling them) actually wanted to take out her highness here, they could have done it days ago. She only has one guard left, and they have an entire flipping army. Samurai or not there's a limit to what one guy can do.

Also I haven't heard anything about demands, so it really looks like they're just surrounding this castle just to make a problem for the noble. Think they're trying to draw out some shinobi? Maybe we should check on Ran.
>>
>>35045155
You make a valid point.
>>
>>35045155

Seconding this. Even if it's just 1 Shinobi, they probably could have taken and killed her and the Samurai long ago.

>Check on Ran
>>
>>35045155
Weren't the samurai in this setting pretty much anti-shinobi badasses of similar powerlevel? This guy could potentially take out most of them if the storm the castle.
Or maybe I am just misremembering.
>>
>>35045175
>>35045205
>>35045144
>>35045027

"I apologize for my behaviour. You have to understand, I couldn't know the situation completely from approaching it, but I also didn't want my arrival to draw attention to us or the fact you called for help. I had no intention of discourtesy." She remains miffed looking, but you can tell your good words did a bit to ease her demeanour.

As you wait, minutes pass, well beyond the time for the gap to reform twice. You poke your head out of the window, stealthily, to see the movement of the guards. The time where the gap should have appeared has suddenly stopped, and the patrols are non-stop. You signal with your kunai again for Ran, who signals back immediately.

"What's the matter, is something wrong?" The gruff voice of the samurai behind you interrupts your thoughts as he crosses his arms. You can see, in more light now, that he has long scars running in stripe-like patterns up and down his arms. Probably where he got his name from.

"Shinobi, is there a problem?"

>Go physically check on Ran
>Remain here, he's fine
>>
>>35044914
Be courteous to her.
>>
>>35045318
>Go physically check on Ran
May as well.
>>
>>35045318
Was the signalt he sent a pre-determined one, more complex than a simple flash?
>>
>>35045222
It depends. In part 1, a bunch of samurai were hired by a mob boss, and weren't an issue for the protag. Since this was the first arc, he was pretty weak.

If we're talking part 2... they're little better then Elite Fodder, since all they do is get murdered so Sasuke can look edgy, and Mifune has an army. If it's one of these, then we could still probably take him.
>>
>>35045318
I'm of two minds about this. On one hand, going out there means he'd be harder to just take out, since we're the combat type on this team.

On the other hand, going our after him makes it easier if someone wants to get both of us in one swoop, and also kinda tips our hand.

I guess try and keep watch on him, but don't leave the building yet. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.
>>
>>35045318
Yeah, should have known that seven-minute gap under an open window was too easy.
I have no idea what to so though, you guys are on your own.
>>
>>35045352
Yeah, I think if mostly depends on if he's from the land of Iron or not. They seem to have the actually good samurai, everyone else is just ronin scrubs.
>>
>>35045318
>Go physically check on Ran
But also tell the Shinobi to stay sharp in case the peasants are trying to draw us out. Maybe tell them to go to a safer place if they have one.
>>
>>35045318

Did we only see a flash, and assume it is him?
If so...
>Go physically check on Ran
>>
>>35045318
Go check on Ran
>>
>>35045348
>>35045349
[The signal sent is a pretty universal shinobi signage for "all clear" in response to a check-up. The same signal is used for "go" as we did before. It's a very basic call-response system]

>>35045403
>>35045396
"I need to go check on my team-mate. You stay here, keep an eye out." You climb onto the sill and shunshin yourself across to the nearest tree to the window. The flash was about a hundred paces from here, and you aren't sure if it was him. You're concerned, mostly about his safety, but also about the infiltration mission.

You decide to take a listen, trying to determine if anyone is around you...

[So, let's talk about non-conflicted resolutions here. A character rolls a number of d10's equal to their CRV (character rank value) which for us is 3 since we're a Chunin. In Five Nations we count successes from dice and add any bonuses we have from Stats and Training. The TN (target number) for our dice to listen in this scenario is 2 (3 base -1 for it being a quiet night). So any result over 2 is worth 1 success. If we get a 10, it's worth 2 successes. However, we are trying to single out an individual, but we know his position, so we need 12 successes total (10 base + 4 for a single target -2 for knowing the general location). In these games we will take the best dice result in the first five. We start the check with 8 successes (5 from Genjutsu + 3 from the Detection Skill). Go for it, 3d10,each result over 2 is a success.]

>Attack

You stalk through the bushes silently, keeping your body low to the ground as you make your way to get a vantage point on the target. Eventually, you find an angle. Up in the trees you see a short-haired man wearing no shirt under his flak jacket. His arms are bulky and he wears a strange device over one of his eyes. His vision is affixed to the castle, and he occasionally taps on the side of it to adjust it, or so you assume.

In a pile behind him is the body of Ran, tied, blindfolded, and gagged. He also appears to be unconscious. However, you appear to have successfully sneaked up on him. As you start to process this the peasants suddenly rush to the gates with a heavy beam of wood, smashing it with all of their strength. It appears they've finally decided to end this siege.

You produce a handful of senbon and place a few spares between your teeth. So, this is the mastermind who has been organizing this little operation.

[Wow, didn't think you'd get the 13.]

You must be lucky tonight, a bird makes a noise, awakened from its slumber, and as you turn to see what caused it you raise your hand and parry a barrage of shuriken that were aimed for you. A razor-thin woman lunges out of the brush towards you, a long and extremely thin sword in her hand. She's on the attack!

[For defense in a combat scenario, you have several options. However, these options are limited by your Reactions. If you use too many against a single enemy you'll be overwhelmed and forced to rely on Passive Defense. Your choices are as follows-]

[Dodge- 1 Reaction. The dodge is simply moving your upper body, jumping slightly, or ducking, in a way to avoid an attack. If the attack is an AoE you are still automatically hit, but it's good for countering single target attacks.
Parry- 2 Reactions. Blocking a weapon with your weapon. Parrying ends the opponent's turn, but it is only useful against other weapons.
Substitute- 3 Reactions. In addition to costing a whopping 8 Chakra, and having a limit of CRV uses per encounter, it negates everything automatically and lets you move within your Shunshin distance.
Counter- 3 Reactions. Attempting to counter is basically attacking. If you succeed, you ignore their attack and get to land yours with a 1.5x damage bonus. If you fail, they get the damage bonus.
Evade- 2 Reactions. You leap away and escape. If they're faster, it fails.

[Pick 1, we roll after]

[It will be our entire turn to get both of them, but yes, we can. First, attack Noruhide, he only uses his Passive Defense, which is 9 in his case. We automatically hit since our successes overwhelm his Passive Defense. So, we will throw the maximum we can while still automatically hitting him. That number is 6.]

You charge the senbon in your hand and fling a fistful of senbon, two hitting his legs, two in his right arm, and one in his neck. Unfortunately, you are very medically trained, so you can't drop him with just that, but you can tell he's now tainted with your magnetic curse.

You grab shuriken now, deciding to use something with a bigger cutting edge, and free Ran from his bonds. As you do so, a trick comes to mind....

[Let's see if we can work on a UA. How about the UA ability to Negatively and Positively charge someone, so that we can use it to attract two people or to repel two people. In this instance, we can use it to push Noruhide away from Ran, violently. This is a Chunin-level ability and will consume our UA3 slot. If you like it, vote yes to this post, if you don't, vote no.]

Or of course, attacking 1 person, then hitting a second like what we did.2for1 special, yo!
>>
>>35047041
Sounds good, for now...but I'd like our next one to be magnetic forging, or something similar. (taking x scraps and making new weapons out of them with magnetic fields, which are already charged and ready to be used)

Then, we can start building people.

This technique.....we can use it on our self, right?
>>
>>35047172
That seems like a bad way to waste a slot, anon. We could do passive knowledge of the positions of people we charged, or a skill to sense all metal in a radius around us for X turns, nthose are way more useful
OP, learning regular lightning techniques like simply running electeicity through our chain doesn't eat up UAs, right?

[Ok, full text incoming on the document.]

[The UA is up on the character sheet. Please select how much chakra you want to pay to Charge Noruhide and how much for Ran.]

>>35047179
[Absolutely can]

>>35047256
[Correct, running electricity through our chain is going to be a Perk and Training in Lightning Element. We need to reach a certain level of Chakra Control, Elemental Training, and buy a Perk to use "Chakra Flow" but when we can, we can do it with any chakra we can manifest.]

Hmmm... not sure if I want to go all out or not
10/5 or 6/3, maybe? I think we should pump extra into Noruhide because we might take him out in one shot.
>>
>>35047466
[The one you charge will go flying.]

>>35047469
[If you do 8/0 Noruhide/Ran, you can fling Noruhide and have him suffer full effects, while keeping Ran unmoved.]

Knock Noruru on his ass, and we'll pin him to the ground.

So if I read it night, if we do

then R will not move, but N will be flung away and rendered prone, with potential damage because of the fall? If so, then this is my vote
>>
>>35047493
Give Ran 1 charge, put three on the guy.
>>
>>35047399
>>35047536
I'd say to do this. We don't need Ran to move, we need Noruhide to get flung. This way he'll be prone and we open up our opportunities.

You charge Noruhide's body, the Magnetic connection between you ever so brief. As if he were hit by an explosion, Noruhide rockets away from Ran, a tree blocking his way as he plows through it and is flopped onto the ground at the end of his flight, groaning in pain.

[Noruhide has suffered 18 damage from senbon, 30 for impacting the tree, and 5 from the fall, totaling up to 53 damage, not including armor which discounts some of it. He is also prone.]

Ran lets out a groan of pain as he takes to his knees and coughs out the gag and removes his blindfold, "Hikari?" He mutters, senses dizzied.

The woman, seeing her partner go flying calls out, "Noruhide!" She lunges away from you and lands next to him, putting his arm around her shoulder she snarls at you and vanishes from sight before, audibly, using her shunshin to escape.

It appears they are gone. Ran, seeing the peasants assaulting the door, runs towards them and calls out, "Vermin, face me!" They, stupidly, turn to face the Chunin who claps his hands together. You close your eyes to block out the Genjutsu, and when he calls out you see that all the peasants are collapsed, unconscious on the ground. The two of you tie them up and present the results to the lady of the castle.

"Well done. However, I am sure that I am not the only one who is concerned with how easily this was resolved. And I am not certain about their aims..." She muses and Tora coughs.

>>
>>35047666

"Anyway, since they are gone and the peasants seem to be returning to their old selves, we can resume our mining operation nearby. I have already made arrangements to pay the Village for your excellent work. Thank you." The two of you bow and take your leave, taking it back home a little slower than you left.

While walking home you feel what appears to be eyes watching you, but when you turn to confront them, nothing seems to be there. "Miss Araki? Are you ok?" The quiet voice of Ran interrupts your search and you can't feel the eyes anymore. "Yes...I'm fine." You promise him and the two of you walk, the forest slowly giving way to the desert that you two call home.

[And with that we have to call it an (admittedly early) day. Tomorrow I will start at around 5:30 PM EST and run until about 11 PM/12 AM, give or take. So, please stay tuned and keep your eyes open for tomorrow night's game. As always, I'll be taking questions/comments/concerns, after I run an errand really quickly. Thank you all for playing, and I hope we had a good introductory session.]

>>
>>35047767
Okay, I came here a bit late for the polarization discussion, but... cartoon logic aside, I don't think that's actually viable.

Put it too you this way: the only way to "polarize" a person would be to create a vanderwaals force in a large number of their body's molecules, basically, you're moving all of the electrons in their body to one side or the other, creating a charge.
Now that is possible, but the end result really wouldn't be them flying away. The concentration of that many electrons in one space (creating a force large enough to push a person through a tree) would be more likely to either a)rip the cells of the body appart completely as the negative charges seek to get away from each other, or b) cause the body to implode on itself as the large mass of negative electrons and the positive protons in the nuclei tried to get back to each other.

It's just a tad unrealistic, even in a world where people have mystical chakra energy.

You're acting like magnet powers worked realistically before
>tag an enemy
>now all my projectiles home in on him
>I can also control the movement of my chain
Face it, our power works on magneto-level science
>>
>>35048447
Fair enough.
I shall simply crank up my suspension of disbelief. Though I still think it would be cooler if our magnet powers could literally explode people.
>>
>>35048447
And there is nothing wrong with that, as long as the internal logic of the universe works out somewhat.
>>
>>35048485

Hikari Araki is a lean woman, her body thinned down to the bare essentials for operation. She wears a modest ponytail haircut and has amber colored eyes. Despite the gentle color of her eyes, she has a sharp edge to her appearance. She wears an armor-reinforced skirt, traditional shinobi sandals, and her flak jacket. Under the jacket she has a flowing dark brown jacket.

How does Jotin work? Does an entire object have to be magnetized, or can we magnetize certain parts of it?
>>
>>35049565
Probably for the sake of ease, it's the whole object. What do you have in mind?
>>
>>35049620
Making wire loops that can be made to shrink by moving one of two points of magnetism, acting as a cutting weapon? Making the tip of a senbon magnetic instead of the entire thing, so that when it flew towards the person it would always hit point first, even around corners?
>>
>>35049807
The senbon thing we assume to always be working that way, so you're good.

That first one could be done as a UA.
>>
>>35049849
Sweet.

Additionally, that leads me to the next thing. If we use a heavy enough EM pull, could we fuse two charged pieces of metal together?

Using the above UA, that'd be making a floating knife by using X senbons, or turning a Kunai into X senbons, or attaching a kunai to the end of our chain mid-battle, or fixing our chain mid battle, or, or, or...
>>
>>35049989
That could absolutely be a UA, since it's not super major, but it does require fine-tuned work.
>>
>>35050007
I like.
