Matteo lets out a shrill, painful shriek of agony as his right arm falls lifelessly to the ground. Clutching the gushing stump where it was once connected to his body, he stares at the monstrous Luiza with a look of pure betrayal on his face.

"Matteo!?" Antonio screams in terror as he realizes what just happened to his comrade. "Holy shit, your arm-"
"L... Luiza..." he chokes out as tears well up in his eyes. "Why..."

But she doesn't answer him, instead lunging at him once more with a murderous look in her eyes. Just as her clawed hands reach for his remaining arm, Matteo leaps backwards and then spins around, redirecting the momentum into a roundhouse kick that hits her right in the center of her chest. Luiza's massive body flies back through several chairs until she finally crashes into the wall adjacent to our cell, back-first.

"Ngh..." Matteo doubles over in pain as he tries to stop the bleeding from his missing appendage. "Luiza, why..."

And then he slowly turns towards the cell where both myself and Charlotte are still trapped.

"...you." he glares at Charlotte. "It was YOU! YOU DID THIS!"
"I did what exactly?" Charlotte asks, forcing a bitter smile.
"Luiza was acting normal before she went into that cell with you, that's the only explanation! W- what the fuck ARE you!?"

As she looks on at the maimed Matteo and the unconscious Luiza who's slumped against the wall still in werewolf form, Charlotte meets Matteo's hate-filled expression with a wicked smile.

"It seems like your prediction ability isn't perfect after all, little rabbit..." Charlotte laughs. "It's a shame that your Branch name is only that in title, it would have been fun to take control of you as well and have both of you fight each other to the death..."
"I swear to God, I'll kill you for this..." Matteo growls through gritted teeth.

But before Charlotte can respond, Matteo dashes to the back of the room and kicks through the door, leaving only the unconscious Luiza... and Antonio, who seems to be paralyzed with fear.

Let us not kill either gay Antonio, now that we knows the limit of his power, and the adorable but useless and whipped rabbit.

Whatever we do, make some kinda comment about not interfering with a lady's first date.

We can actually be useful once we get out, just in case Luzia breaks free of the mind control.
>>
>>35098369
Also, it is my belief that as much of a flunzy Luiza is, she will resist with all her might if we try to kill the rabbit.
>>
>>35098305
Hahaha, no.

Fucker dies tonight. If we let him live our family is in danger, he can always send goons to burn our house down and isn't the forgiving sort.

We also don't know the limits on his power, it's still a danger. He dies.

We have to kill not just Antonio and Rabbit.

We also have to get rid of pinwheel and every mafia member in town. OR else it will turn into a blood vendetta.
>>
>>35098524
We'll just need to go REMOVE for a bit and I'm sure the whole situation will sort itself out.
>>
>>35098524
So we set off a Mr. G's faction vs mafia war?

That will destroy half the town?

Then the Tree of Life will be after our ass for life?
>>
>>35098594
Think Mr. G will be that protective of his adoptive daughter?
>>
>>35098524
>and every mafia member in town.
After a certain level of carnage most of them will cut and run. Organized crime members tend not to be particularly ideological, if the upper ranks get their shit kicked hard enough most of the rank-and-file will bolt because they don't feel confident in the organization's ability to provide mutual protection anymore.
>>
>>35098663
So you leave the town open for invasion by a trans-national gang of branches. Or pinstripe belongs to the hells angel of branch holders.
>>
>>35098524
One step at a time.

First we get out of the cell, then Antonio dies, then we track down Matteo, while he's fast he's gonna be losing a lot of blood, which means Charlotte can track him, and he is going to have to stop eventually.

With three of their Branch users out of the picture I suspect they'll be more cautious about coming after us. Maybe we can leave a message for the rest of them, like tying a sign around Antonoio's soon-to-be-broken neck that reads "These chucklefucks started it, we want nothing to do with this bullshit. Leave us the fuck alone and we'll keep to ourselves." I'd suggest writing it like CC texts, but that's both cruel to the poor mob members and they couldn't understand it anyways.
>>
>>35098699
Perhaps, but Gentleman Johnny Marcone these guys are not. They are not any kind of lesser evil except in a totally left field what-if hypothetical sense, and they've got a personal hateboner for us already anyway.

"Not so fast..." Charlotte mutters under her breath as she has Luiza slowly rise to her feet.
"Wait," I say, taking hold of her good hand. "Have her get us out of here first, we can go after him later."
"...I guess you have a point there," she sighs. "There's no point in getting revenge for trapping us if we're still unable to escape ourselves."

Charlotte turns to me and I see her stern expression soften for a moment before she resumes focusing on her mindcontrol of Luiza. I guess werewolves count as animals as far as her Branch is concerned...

"Now if I'm remembering this correctly, she put those keys in this pocket..." Charlotte says to herself as she has Luiza reach into the pocket of her cutoff shorts and pull out a set of keys. Then she tries to have her pick out the right one from off the keyring, but Luiza's werewolf fingers are too clumsy and Charlotte's control over them is too imprecise for her to actually be able to do it correctly.

Giving up on that, she simply has Luiza toss the keyring through the bars to me, and then I walk over to the lock and go through them until I find the right one to get us out of here. With a loud click, the door opens and I help Charlotte out of the cell.

"Umm, are you going to be alright?" I ask, worried about how much pain she's in thanks to that broken arm. I tried to do my best to make a sling, but it's still far from perfect.
"Eheh..." Charlotte smiles at me. "This hurts so much that I feel like breaking down into tears, but that can wait until we're out of here," she replies. "But I've been through worse than this, so you don't have to worry too much about me."

That's not really reassuring.

Hmm, so how do we kill Lucia after we're done taking out Antonio and Matteo? It seems surprisingly difficult despite having control over her.

We can't keep her, Charlotte's control might slip and once Lucia turns back she can't be controlled any more. And she seriously hates us now. She already didn't like us, this turn of events kinda prevents any peaceable conclusion to our relationship.

We pretty much have to do enough damage to kill her, preferably a couple times over, in a short period of time. And she's in her most durable form right now.

I'd rather not exhaust CC by calling the sun, especially since she might have to laser Matteo beforehand.

Making her jump off a building headfirst onto something hard may work, but that'd probably draw attention. If Charlotte can make her drown herself that's probably the best way to go about it, other than that we might be able to do something with high voltage lines or drop an elevator down a shaft to crush her neck. Or have Charlotte politely ask a couple hundred, or maybe thousand, ravens to pick the flesh from her bones.

I wouldn't rule out something simple like "metal pointy thing in brain stem" as a viable method of dispatching her.

Even regenerators usually don't take kindly to having their brains stabbed, and worst comes to worst it'll at least keep her incapacitated while we work out an alternate method, since you can't exactly do stuff when you've got a foreign object jammed into the focal point of your nervous system.

The problem with decapitation is that Charlotte has a broken arm and is otherwise pretty beaten up, and CC isn't really that strong.

Luiza is fucking durable right now, there's a fair bit of bone and flesh to cut through to get her head off, and she'll start regenerating if we're not fast about it.

Also, we don't have an axe or anything like that either, at least not yet.

...or at least that's what he -tries- to do. Before he can get very far at all, Luiza slams him into the ground.

>[1/?]
>>
>>35099849
Discussing killing Luiza is pretty relevant given that we're going to have to kill her sooner rather than later and she's tough to kill. I'm kinda hoping we find a mob weapon's stash nearby, making her eat a grenade or pumping a magazine into her braincase might work. Other than that, maybe pour a couple gallons of gasoline on her and let her burn, or make her take a truly excessive dose of some nasty poison.

NTRing her or Matteo is just plain silly though, CC isn't a necrophiliac and both of them are going to die quickly. We aren't going to torture them, psychologically or otherwise, it's a waste of time and might give them a chance to screw us over.
>>
>>35099912
Only if she's fully incapacitated first (since being burned alive would probably meet the requirements for resisting the mind control, assuming it can be resisted), and even then god only knows how long it would actually take, unless her regeneration won't function while she's taking persistent damage.

>>35099920
Silver maaaaaaybe just because that myth tends to have some basis in truth, but holy water is almost certainly no since the powers of faith/Jeebus haven't been shown to be a viable powersource in-setting, and holy water isn't exactly a weapons-grade chemical.

Then he doesn't have a good method of communication so interrogation is pretty damn limited, stabilizing him so he lives through that will take and waste time we should be using to hunt down Matteo, and we could either leave him here, in a move sure to sincerely piss the mafia off just as much as fucking killing him, or bring a bleeding body with us which would probably draw attention.

And all this without actually being certain that he can't actually use his Branch to our detriment.

There is a VERY simple answer to this, it doesn't involve torture, mutilation, or overthinking it. We just fucking kill him, or let Char kill him.

Not really, but this is. Harry can re-create ZOMBIE SUE any time he wants and he KILLED off all the Red Court in one shot forever.
>>
"Wait, Charlotte!" I call out. "Don't talk to him, he might be able to take control of you if you do!"

I've seen enough horrible things today, the last thing I want is to see Charlotte kill herself like that other guy did...

"But, um..." I mumble, "...maybe you can make him use his power on himself? Like make him swear not to hurt us or he'll have to kill himself?"
"Cecile..." Charlotte looks at me with a bitter smile, "thanks for worrying about me, but I've got this."

Antonio lets out a shriek as Charlotte digs her foot into his back.

"For one, his Branch is obviously a Control-type so it won't work on me," Charlotte explains. "And for that same reason, it won't work on him either so your plan won't work."
"...oh."

So much for solving this the easy way.

"But I -am- curious as to what exactly your Branch is," Charotte says as she looks down at the whimpering Antonio. "Mind sharing with us?"
"If... if I tell you, you'll keep your girlfriend from killing me, riiiAAAAAAGH!!"
Antonio screams as Charlotte stomps on him.
"Try and take control of Cecile again and I'll kill you on the spot, you hear?" she says coldly.
"Y... yes ma'am..."

I... I don't think that I should say anything else to this guy. Charlotte might be immune to his Branch, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not.

"And what does it do?" Charlotte asks.
"I can take control of people who lie to me! That's all, I swear! I mostly use it to punish guys who leak info on our business to the cops since it doesn't work before the fact!"
"Interesting," Charlotte nods.
"S... so now that you know what I do, you'll let me live, right? I swear I'll never bother you again!"
"Mmmmm..." Charlotte tilts her head. "No, I don't think so.

Lifting her foot from off Antonio's back, Charlotte quickly steps away as Luiza kicks him across the room.

Please don't tell me that Charlotte's losing control of her!

"S- sorry about that, I just spread myself really thin by taking control of that many animals at once," Charlotte says, wincing in pain as she backs away so that I'm not touching her broken arm. Then it's just a matter of time until she tracks us down and tries to rip our spine out. When we kill her we make it reliable and quick, prolonging it is fucktarded with her regen.
>>
>>35102331
>...she tried to snap at me just now, I don't think it's safe to keep her around

Char is already injured. If she loses her concentration we'll have a pissed-off werewolf right on our ass.

I'd really like to keep her around as a bullet sponge, but having her frenzy while standing right next to us would just be a death sentence.

And I don't fancy the cage's odds at keeping a raging werewolf cooped up for any length of time.
>>
>>35102388

I don't want to be a party to murder. But at the same time, there's like a 100% chance of Luiza trying to kill us if she somehow breaks free of Charlotte's control, and that'll mean that we both get killed.

...and then she'd probably move on to Theresa and Mina and Allison.

No.

"...she just tried to snap at me just now, when you lost your balance," I say. "I don't think it's safe to keep her around."
"Yes, you have a point," Charlotte sighs. "I could have used that regeneration ability of hers, but it'll take at least half a day for me to copy it fully... I guess I'll have to make do with what I've already taken from her."

Wait, what?

She heals pretty quickly, but Luiza is faster. If she was as fast as Luiza her arm would've fixed itself by now.

Luiza can heal up pretty much any non-fatal wound in under a minute, especially if she's in full wolf form like this.

"Oh well," Charlotte says. "Any last words?" she turns to Luiza.
"Y... you fuckin' sick piece a' shit imma break free a' this shit and tear your throat for makin' me do that to my Matteo!" Luiza growls.

I guess she gave back control of her mouth and vcocal cords or something?

"Ya hear me!?" Luiza shouts. "Yer fuckin' dead an-"
"Mmmmmmm..." Charlotte closes her eyes. "...no. That would be you."

Slowly, Luiza places a hand on her chest and... drives her nails into it. With a whimper, I shut my eyes and turn aweay so that I can't hear what's happening.

But I still know what Charlotte's making her do.

Or that my girlfriend's the one who was responsible for two of them.

This time around, I don't even flinch when she pats me on the back and tells me that it's over. I simply nod and do my beat not to look back at where I'm pretty sure the body is.

"You got Mina to?" I ask.
"Yes, well," she signs, "she was the easiest person for me to get in contact with through Loki. I always forget how hard it is to mimic human speech with a crow's vocal cords, though..."

Huh, so that's how she did it.

"Mina didn't freak out, did she?" I ask, worried since she's already been hit pretty hard by life as a whole lately.
"Er, only at first," Charlotte replies. "She was still worried about you, but calmed down a lot once the initial shock wore off."
"Oh. Okay."

I want to call her and Allison and Theresa up and tell them that I'm (mostly) fine, but now really isn't the time.

"C'mon, let's get out of here," I say, reaching out towards Charlotte.
"Yes, lets," Charlotte replies, nodding as she takes my hand and squeezes it. "I think I know the way out of here thanks to those rats that I was controlling, but there's still the risk of getting caught by someone with a gun so let's be extra cautious."

Hopefully the mafia's standing police bribes keep the authorities out of this mess, only because I pity the crime scene investigator.

I wonder which would be harder to explain: man-mauled-to-death-by-rats, Suicide Werewolf, or the guy who got his arm torn off by said werewolf but then died due to totally unrelated causes in a different room AFTER the werewolf killed itself.
>>

And anyway, I think the moment he see a dead werewolf your investigator would most likely consider himself out of his depth and go drink himself to sleep.

I'm standing here thinking about the best way to storm into this room so that my girlfriend can kill someone. Just the realization of that makes me want to curl up into a ball and cry until I can't cry any more, but now isn't the time. This isn't something that I'm doing because I -want- to, it's something that I'm doing because I don't have a choice.

"Wait just a minute," I whisper to Charlotte as I grab her hand to make sure she doesn't just run in on her own.
"What's wrong?" Charlotte asks.
"Nothing, I just want to try something before you go in there," I say.

I've never done this before, but now's as good a time as any to give it a try. Taking hold of the light that's leaking through the cracks of the door, I bend and magnify it until I have what is a (mostly) clear image of the room's contents floating in front of me. And in this image, there's a woozy Matteo sitting on a chair with his shirt off while another man bandages up his stump. I don't know if this guy's a mafia doctor or what, but he seems to be trying to tend to his injuries.

I hear the medic guy screaming bloody murder about his eyes as Charlotte dashes into the room and makes a beeline for Matteo. It doesn't look like he's been affected by my light attack though, as he leaps out of the chair just before Charlotte kicks through it.

It's too dangerous for me to let loose this charged beam at Matteo while he's busy fighting Charlotte, I might hit her my mistake. But this other guy isn't so lucky. While he's still busy clutching his face in pain, I let loose the entire beam all at once, hitting him right in the center of the chest. The room fills with the smell of burning flesh as every bit of skin on the area where I hit him is charred to a crisp.

The room fills with his screams of agony as he falls over and curls up in the fetal position while clutching his wound.

From that look in his eyes when Charotte told him that Luiza is dead, I can tell that Matteo isn't doing to stop until he can get back at us. IT might be today, it might be a year from now, but I can't risk that.

And so, I run through the doorway and chase after him, gathering as much light as I can as I go. He has the lead, but I can tell that his injury's taken a lot out of him. And all I need is to get one good hit to his leg and he's down.

As for what I'll do after that... I honestly don't know.

But just as it looks like he's about to get away from me, I see Matteo skidding to a halt. And then something sends him flying back towards me.

"Whoa!" I shout as I hop to the side of the hallway so he doesn't end up crashing into me. "What the hell?"

Slowly, I turn my head back towards the direction that he was just running... and I see something. A tall figure that's walking towards me. Or Matteo, I don't know. It looks like it's in some kind of armor, and has a large circular gem or something similar embedded in the left side of its chest.

"So you were right to come here..." the figure says with a cold, hollow voice. "Good, that saves us a lot of time."
