You are Kagome Higurashi, an average teenage girl from Tokyo. Well at least you WERE average. After a series of strange and unfortunate events you find yourself in a strange place with even stranger people.

You, Yura, and Inuyasha escorted Kujo Keisuke to his destination, only to find the village in ruins and Keisuke’s son dead. You were not alone in the village for long however. A man by the name of Lord Kagewaki Hitomi was present in the village along with his retainer and after a brief conversation the dead began transforming and coming to life. Soon the villain you have dubbed “The Lord of Flies” made himself known, but was slain thanks to your awoken power.

unbeknownst to the rest of your group a strange new power has awoken within you, however you were not given much time to dwell on it as you learned that Inuyashas brother was seeking “Inuyashas birthright”. You set off toward the mountains with Kujo now officially part of the team, his thirst for revenge palpable.

You and your party set off toward the mountains, and after a strange night encounter, you arrived at a modest town at the foot of the mountains. Not all persons in the town were modest however as Inuyasha came under attack by a young man spoiling for a fight. Wounded, you and your party rest up for the adventures ahead… however something foul is brewing.

You turn on your bedmat with a feint sigh, readjusting yourself in the cool air. The sound of feint footsteps can be heard outside, but you pay them little heed, reasoning it's just the innkeeper.

The crash of your rooms doors being flung open jars you from your half dazed assumption. Jolting upright, you see the leader of the group of samurai you talked too earlier in the day, two men at his side.

“Emissary I may have to respect your Lord while in his province; but your lot has to obey the laws of the land…” He does not look pleased. Further down the hall, you can hear a similar situation being played out.

Kagome; assess your situation:

Although you’re fully clothed in your tattered PJ’s, you swiftly yank up the blanket around your breasts. “What the HELL is the meaning of this?!”

Your shouting rouses Yura from her sleep, causing the soldiers faces to whiten as she lets out a deep yawn. Looking over you can see she’s rather… perky. Even in the dark. “Oh me oh my… I didn’t know company would be over? Naughty naughty Kagome.”

At the very least she seems to have diffused the situation slightly. “Explain yourself” you command, resting your head on your hands, trying to steer the conversation away from the topless demoness. You have no idea what time it is, but it’s too early for this.

“O-One of your retainers. The demon… he’s killed!

“What? No way, besides he’s not really in any shape to do anything.” You scoff.

“These are the facts! The man who bested him earlier today was found dead. Pinned to a tree with his own blade!”

“Oh puppy how very unsporting…”

Ok that… actually does kind of sound like something he’d maybe do.

Letting out a loud sigh you stand up, throwing your dirty blanket to the floor before pushing past the guards who don’t even try to stop you, shocked by your disrespect, but honestly what did they expect with waking you at this ungodly hour? “What do you think you’re doing?! This is an office-“ “ial investigation.” You finish for the captain. You take a moment to savor the dead silence, wobbling on your feet as your body attempts to go back to sleep.

“I know he didn’t do anything. He’s way too hurt, but it’s my right as his… superior to see to my men. His actions are my actions just as… mine are his.” You yawn.

The head of the guard simply grunts and nods. His scowl visible in the flicker of the lanterns candle light. Staying up late watching old movies with gramps may just pay off.

You shuffle your way down the hall, eventually getting to Inuyashas room. He and Kujo have been bound and forced on their knees. As your vision snaps into focus you notice that Inuyasha’s face and chest are smeared in blood. “Well that’s not good” you think out loud to yourself.

Kneeling down your eyes meet his. Piercing and yellow. Almost cat like and filled with fire. “So…”

“I didn’t do nothen!” he snarls, struggling against his bondage before being forced to his hands and knees by the guards.

Looking around the room you don’t really see anything out of place.

Check Inuyasha's wounds to see if they were re-opened. Also around the room and the halls. If Inuyasha did any heavy exertion, his wounds would have been re-opened and there would probably be a conspicuous blood trail leading out.

Also, bring Yura over here. Can she detect anything out of place?

While you don’t see anything out of the ordinary, maybe Yura would? No sooner had your thought finished than she is by your side, bending over and ruffling Inuyashas hair like a childs “Awwwww little doggie’s in twobble!” she grins. “So sorry, looks like they’ll have to cut you all up. What a sha-“

“Enough.” You scold. She uprights herself, putting her hands behind her back and looking at you with lidded eyes before rolling them and punching the nail of her index finger through Inuyashas shoulder, causing the samurai to ready themselves to draw at the sudden cry of the incarcerated demon. Yuras free hand traces along his defined chest.

You open your mouth to shout at her before she plunges one finger after the next into her mouth, smacking her lips and savoring the flavor. “R-relax… she’s a uh… tracker!” you blurt out. Oh god now the handover’s starting. You put your hand to your temples as they throb, watching Yura in stunned silence along with the guards until she finally speaks.

“Oh me oh my… so much anger… but too close to tell. Sorry puppy.”

“JUST WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!”

“Oh I was testing his blood to see if it matched. Is there something wrong?”

“And?”

“Well there’s human in both, but that’s all I can really say.” The hair demon begins pacing the room taking stock of things before stopping by the window and crouching to examine it. “Now this is interesting… blood and a foot print…”

>1/2
>>
>>35249404
>2/2

“That doesn’t prove a damn thing! He just snuck out and in through the window.”

“Too true, however… the print is from a woven sandal and he doesn’t wear shoes.”

The captain lumbers into the room, still dressed in full regalia, and pushes past you and Yura before looking at the sill. He crosses his arms and cocks his head “True it is from a shoe… empty their packs.”

You and the rest of your party reveal your effects to the samurai to reveal no additional footwear. A guard outside confirms nothing seems to have been thrown out, and further investigating reveals… Inuyasha has dirty feet.

“This is a curious find, but there’s no way a person could have killed that man.”

“So he gets injured, can barely move, magically finds shoes, uses them to sneak around to kill someone, then sneaks back in?”

“That’s the way it seems.”

“Covering his tracks!” Another guard happily nods before being scowled at by his superior.

“Oh come on now, he’s not nearly that cleaver!” Kujo begins laughing “WHAT’D YOU S-“ Inuyashas outburst is quickly quelled by a sickening blow to the back of his head and immediately goes limp. You clench your fists and maintain your composure as best you can, your eye twitching slightly. Why is everything so godamn loud?

“Since you’re so intent on proving a demon innocent…” the captain declares with a feint smile “I’ll entertain an investigation from you if only to laugh at your inevitable failure. We’ll hold these two here for now, but if you fail or can’t succeed by sunrise. You’re all to be tried.” At his words, the two men of your party are pulled back and forced against the wall as the guards straighten into formation.

With a slight nod of your head, Yuras hand whirls and a few strands of hair criss-cross over the window frame.

One of the guards bows as you turn to leave down the steps “Good luck ladies” he jeers, causing his compatriots to burst out in uproarious laughter only to be shouted into silence. This town really doesn’t have a lot going on for it.

You and Yura step out into the brisk night air. A few stray clouds hover in the air. You take notice that it’s already the half moon. Have you really been here that long? You’re left to contemplate the passage of time as you travel down the road in silence, thankful that the guard at the front of the inn and the Innkeeper pointed out the scene. He also warned you to keep sharp since there have been a lot of demons abducting young women in the area lately. Weird.

Traveling into the woods near the foot of the mountain, hushed whispers and torchlight tells you you’ve found the crime scene. Just off the path, small throngs of people have gathered around a large tree, a man sits, pinned to it with a broken katana blade. A bandage draped around the end.

You mind flashes back to the first time you met Inuyasha, then to the skinned man. A shiver runs up your spine and your gut suddenly feels both full and empty at once. You’re really starting to hate trees, but somehow this doesn’t bother you as much as it would have even a week ago. It’s jarring to be sure, but this cruelty seems almost natural now.

You and Yura push through the rubbernecking villagers to inspect the crime scene, claiming you’re part of an official investigation, which technically you are. Taking stock of the scene you note that there must have been a minor struggle as indicated by the hand shaped bruising on the mans neck.

"Thoughts" Yura asks, noticing you scratching your chin as you puzzle out the scene.

“Well” you begin, pacing, “It’s obvious this is some sort of frame up. This man caused a ruckus with Inuyasha, and the murder weapon is the victims own broken sword. But look at the blade. There’s not a drop of blood on the other end or around the victem. How could someone pierce someone with enough force to embed him this deep onto the tree, let alone without cutting themselves? And this bloodied rag?” you add, tossing it over your shoulder “It’s just too obvious.”

“And the look on his face…” Yura adds, standing on her toes, index finger tapping her lower lip. “Right, the marks around his neck indicate a struggle, but we both know Inuyasha is far more likely to cut someone up or punch them than to choke them.” You smile as you come to your conclusion. “No, this man was strangled and THEN pinned to the tree!”

“That’s a lot of fuss just to frame him.”

“Right…” This isn’t sitting well with you. Maybe the Inkeeper knows something? Not to mention you can smell something… almost like the scent of that black rain from a few days ago around this corpse. You clutch your head, damning the flickering torchlight and restless villagers under your breath. A feint flickering light in the distance catches your eye however.

The light in the distance shines like a spotlight. You clutch your hand over your eye in pain. “Remind me never to drink that much again… Take a look around would ya?”

Yura scans the people at the scene as you message your head into submission. “Doesn’t look like anything’s too out of place. Lots of people are talking about finding and killing Inuyasha though…” Her eyes ddarken as she continues in a harsh whisper “I will not allow that behavior.”

“Relax; he’ll be fine.” You respond with a smile “I saw a strange light over there by the hills. It might be worth checking out.

The two of you make your way up the hill and crouch low. Below are two men standing over a serpent like body. Squinting it seems like his shoulder guards match the other Samurai in the village. "Hurry up Takishi! We need this finished tonight!" "Keep your voice down you fool!" One of the men picks up the headless creature by the tail and runs his hand along its length into a jar below it before the other man caps the jar and walks off toward the town.

You wait a few moments for the men to get well enough ahead of you. This seemed more than curious enough to warrant your attention and they seem to be in quite a rush. Sure enough they don’t even bother to check behind them as they run into town.

It appears the commotion from the murder either has most of the citizens holed up at home or at the scene of the crime, leaving the roadways empty.

Crouching behind a building opposite the street you and Yura witness the two men set the jar down next to an unmarked door, knocking, then power walking in the most laughably “I didn’t do anything” way possible. Your eyes narrow as you see a wood and iron mallet handing from one of the mens waists, a thin rectangular scar on one of its heads. Across the street a rather pleasant looking fellow with soft features and a wide grin spots the jar and takes it inside, closing the door behind him.

“You think you can get a line one those guys?” you whisper as the two men pass. Yura scowls in agreement as she rotates her left pinky counter clockwise, spooling it out into nothing.

Checking left and right, the two of you cross the street undetected before kneeling at the sliding door, pushing it aside and rolling in, Jitte at the ready. Yura steps in silently behind, albet more daintily and you silently slides the door shut sealing the two of you in darkness. Your pulse rises as your eyes adjust. It looks like a normal miniature single floor room. Its walls are lined with a few meager items.

Shuffling around your foot feels some bend in the wooden floor. You whisper for Yura to get on her hands and knees and after a brief retort she obeys your orders and sure enough, you find a trap door. A rickety wooden ladder leads to a passageway below, the feint flicker of fire beckons you from within the halls warning you that it’s occupied.

You exchange glances with the hair demon before descending the ladder. At its end stretches a cramped dirt tunnel. Wooden support beams line the walls every few paces. Torches a few more. The two of you crouch walk for what feels like forever, noticing the slope getting deeper and deeper until you come to a pair of steps carved from the earth.

You step out into water? Maybe ground seepage? You hold your hand back so as to warn Yura of possible sudden drops. The smell of blood and black rain fills your nostrils. Covering your mouth to prevent yourself from gaging, you slog forward in the darkness. In the distance sobs of a woman echo around the chamber. A single flame burns on a candle at the center of the room. A wooden spinning wheel fast at work. Its clicking adding a rhythm to the sobs.

Four long arcing appendages hover above the silhouette of the figure at the wheel, fast at work pulling and winding thread. “Ahh hello young miss. How cam I help you?” it sings. Four piercing slanted blue eyes erupt from the gloom. Throwing your torch down you see a woman, the innkeeper, bound to a chair and gagged, her flesh and muscle being stripped from her, formed into threads, and fed into the wheel.

You drop to your knees and empty your belly onto the floor, tears beading in your eyes as you hack up the remains of your last meal. ”get up” Empty and drained, but not broken you rise to your feet; clutching your Jitte until your knuckles whiten.

“W-… why?”

“Why what my dear?” it responds, dipping a more human looking hand into the jar and smearing the solution on the flesh strands before starting the wheel again; the woman cries out in agony as the creature raises its voice to drown her out “You’ll have to be more specific.” You want to help this woman… you need to, but you can’t move… Your body’s frozen in place.

“Why are you doing this?”

“Oh, this?” it gestures to the woman “Why… it’s the masters wish. Surely you know them? They care for us, cherish us, and empower us. To be their instrument is to be divine my child.” One of the creatures long spider like legs reaches out to caress the woman’s face who squirms in place.

“And what exactly is it you… do?” Yura asks, look at her hand, then to you. Movement.

“I simply do as the master bids. To do his work is to know joy… The joy… of creation.” The creature rises it’s arm, as it pulls on a glinting silver needle, red threads trailing behind it before diving back down again. “Aaaaaall most done… It seems like you won’t get to be a part of this after all my dear.” It looks towards the woman “What a pity.”

“Who… ARE you?” Yura asks, excitement coursing through her voice.

A voice behind you booms, “He is no one of your concern.”

Turning around you see the leader of the samurai squad and a few of his men; swords drawn. “It’s a shame really. I would have preferred to kill you on the battlefield.” He drops hit torch, revealing the substance you’ve been standing in is in fact spoiled blood at the least.

“Bring him forward.” Two men carry the unconscious form of Inuyasha forward and set him down before the man who draws his blade, balancing it against the demons neck.

“Pitiful creatures demons. Half or no, but they do have so many uses don’t they harlot? I wonder what you see in him… or maybe what you see him put in you.” He smirks and his entourage nervously chuckles. “I really must applaud you though, you managed to stumble head first into my business just before its final moments. A fair trade off since your friend here provided just what I needed to ensure its success.”

You feel the weight shifting back on your foot, readying for combat.

He chuckles “Good good. I like that. Your lord has a fine taste. I can see why he picked you, but I know that look in your eyes. That rage. That curiosity…” He grins “Would you like me to explain it in simple terms before you die? Or perhaps… you’d like to exchange that jewel you possess for him?”

So noe that its blatantly obvious these guys are evil. Can we get the fuck out of here after this Fight?

You pause in place… there’s no escape. No backing out. You’re trapped and about to watch someone else die. And the worst part is, you’re morbidly curious to see what would happen. How he’d escape this one. If he can even die…

“You just gunna stand there and look stupid or what?” The samurai tenses as he drags the blade along the dog demons neck prompting you put up your hands defensively “I… please… just… please don’t.” You can feel your tears trickling down your face as you kneel and place your Jitte on the floor. Soaking the hand wrappings with filth. You have lost. So completely. So unquestionably. It hurts to think about it.. your whole body aches… and your afraid. Afraid to die. To see your friends die. Falling to your knees you clutch your fist. It can’t… it won’t… ”KILL” This is a hard truth… you have to ”KILL”. If you don’t, who know how many lives they’ll destroy ”SLAUGHTER”? There’s only of course of action you can take ”KILL” and you prey there’s enough alcohol left in your system to forget about it later… “I have to do this.” You re assure yourself. “I HAVE TO DO THIS! I’M SORRY!” You scream. Your lungs feel as though they’re going to split and your hand reverberates an arcane energy.

You slap your hand down in the ichor with a loud clapping splash. Black tendrils, like veins, snake through and outward from your palms impact. You shut your eyes tight and hum a song to yourself as tears continue to stream from your eyes. Their screams are brief, but they are a chorus of agony. You can hear several splashes as decayed meat slides from rotting bone into a rancid stew bellow. The scent is overpowering, but already having emptied yourself all you can do is simply gag at your handywork and keep your eyes shut.

Yura drags you both out of the underground and you cry yourself to sleep on the ground floor.

”Finally she’s asleep… now lets see” The demoness produces a small brilliantly silver needle from her hairband admiring it briefly in the firelight as it emits a lot pitched hum as it cackles with demonic energy “Oh me oh my what a lovely little singing voice…”

{Sacred Jewel Quest 19 End}

>Next run time: Next week on Friday at 9pm
https://twitter.com/Snowloss (#SacredJewelQuest)

Like the quest, but don’t want to chat with my on twitter? Consider giving the archives a positive rating on suptg!

Thank you all VERY much for playing. I wanted to try something a little different that I haven't seen done on /tg/, so thanks again for sticking around.

(And as usual I’ll stick around for a bit to answer any of your questions, comments, or concerns.)
>>
>>35255542
Hmm starting too think that was a bad idea
>>
>>35255542
Well now we get to kill Yura.
>>
>>35255561
>>35255590
If she wanted us dead, she had ample time to do it back in the hell hole.
>>
>>35255561
The corruption thing? Naaah we had to try that out sooner or later.

The Keeping Yura as a party member. Maybe.

>>35255602
She either wants Inuyasha's hair, a leash on us, the jewel, our death.
>>
>>35255618
Maybe she's just giving us a bit of demonic Juujuu so we'll loosen up a bit and not take this whole killing people thing so seriously

It's like acupuncture for your morals. Really it's for the best.
>>
>>35255602
Well i am just concerned since we used a Rot based spell that was original used by a Daemon and we have no idea how too control in a offensive manner while trying too not kill someone else in the area
My main worry is that Inuyashas got caught in the spell and that the rot was not contained in the basement and spread into the rest of the village
>>
>>35255542
>as it
>as it
>as it
>Fuck me I'm tired

>I really do hope you guys had fun tonight. Those that didn't, I apologize. I really wanted to try something new tonight.

>As for the murder. If you guys want, now that it's over, I'd be glad to share if you're interested. since there's noone left who knows anyway
>>
>>35255651
We got a 20 (not natural, but still) to control it. It only hit what we wanted it to.

As for Yura I'm betting she somehow facilitated this whole thing.
>>
>>35255661
Sure.
>>
>>35255661

I was bored for half the thread. Last part save it though because I'm now wondering what Yura is up to and if I should thank her or scream to behead her.

Who dun it snow?
>>
>>35255661
I had fun. Thanks for running. Sure
>>
The samurai's lord is scared shitless of Kagewaki Hitomi and sent in a small group of samurai and demon slayers into one of his outlying towns on the premise of recovering a dead dignitary to spy on him. They quickly lured demons into the village however so they could opt to stay as a peace force while abducting women and writing them off as demon casualties.

You rolled into town a good while after and caused a big fuss with one of their demon slayers. Seeing an opportunity to generate public outcry on Kagewaki Hitomi if their plan is exposed or acting as a townwide distraction; the soldier with the hammer strangled him in his drunken state, them hammered the blade through his chest while his partner gathered blood from the cellar and snuck into Inuyashas room to smear it on him and steal his bandages, having poisoned the water you left him to keep him sleeping.

WHY these men did what they did, or who they took orders from (if anyone) is [REDACTED]

>>35255689
>Sorry it wasn't to your liking. I knew doing a mystery on /tg/ would be tough and I apologize I did not entertain.

>Ok, It's getting pretty late on a work night and most folks seem to have checked out so I'll call it a night here too.

>Again, thank you very much for playing (or reading). If you have time and like the quest, please consider voting for it on suptg. If you don't like it (or if you do) please don't hesitate to tweet at me with your detailed thoughts and opinions so I can keep working towards improving the quest. (Your feedback is lifeblood to me and the quest, so don't be shy)

>Looking forward to hanging out with you guys again next week. Until then, rest well and keep your friends close and your jewels closer!
>>
>>35256121
Just caught up after going to bed last night. I enjoyed most of the thread, though I disliked the ending, specification anon's use of blight powers, but that isn't your fault Other than giving it to us in the first place, but I've already expressed my distaste for the so Meh.

Anyway, thanks for running Snow!
>>
>>35255542
awesome as that blighted touch is, I feel like we should work to changing the element of it as soon as possible now. Even if we keep the original, I'd rather have the ability to do something other than decay shit with a touch. Especially since it supposedly has feedback
>>
>>35255689
I'm betting she's taking everyone's hair, if we didn't melt that too
>>
>People all want Yura
>Get her
>Vague "to be continued hook"
>Everyone wants to murder her

As for the quest.. eh it was ok. There's really only so much you can do with getting your audience involved and interacting in "actual" detective work since every person will read the scene differently. Not to mention /tg/ can't really ever decide on a single corse of action to take most times when it comes to logic.
>>
I think everyone's missing the point that the biggest thing in this quest is that Kagome just took her first life. Several of them at once in fact.
>>
>>35257984
>>35259232
This is a bit more than taking a life with a gun or a sword. This is taking lives with tentacles coming out of you.

I went with the choice, and now we've got to live with it. Hopefully we'll come across another priest who can clue us in...
>>
I think it wasn't so much as tentacles as those veiny things you see mold sometimes have.

In any case that attack was OP as hell.
>>
>>35259009
Yeah detective thing was a bit rough. I'm thinking the participation rate/board format just kind of butchers that route. - Yura is probably legit. But she has tried to kill us before even after binding.
>>35259232
Eh something something learn to swim best to dive head first into the deep end *nods*
>>35257446
It was unanimous. Hell I voted for it... you know after being told NOOO FIRE AND DEATH POWERS ARE TOO POWERFUL! Maybe we'll grow a back bone and be less hesitant to act i the future.
>>35257984
At the same time blight might effectively be our =/= wind tunnel. Until we kill the coven we've got a cannon of bad things in our hand.
>>35259622
Yes... one with a crippling evil hand curse who can empathize.
>>35259776
Wind scar(half the other shit Inuyasha can do)/Windtunnel

This is the land of OP abilities. I'm just glad we've got one as well.
>>
>>35259838
>Land of OP abilities
But the Bleach crossover hasn't been officially solidified yet...

As for the Wind Tunnel comparison; I honestly hasn't thought about it. At least we don't have to magically seal our hand with a rosary or whatever that was.
>>
>>35259881
Maybe that's Exactly what Yura is doing. Just... more demony. TAKE THAT YURA HATERS!
>>
>>35259881
I'll kick and scream to keep any ability we get that can wreck a room full of dudes instantly. It may be ugly but this setting is a whole lot darker than the original. If Kagome can't adjust or adapt to it. She's not going to last long.

Hell this one has San Checks.
>>
>>35259915
I'm actually kind of loving it. The early show has a lot of really fucked up shit if you stop and think about it a bit, but Kagome just keeps on going sunshine and smiles like it's all perfectly normal.

This Kagome is a bit more vulnerable and in a world that's a pinch harsher with a lot of non-canon threads going since we never had the plotrock shatter. It's honestly something else entirely at this point with a few characters from the franchise poping in and out really.

As for the sanity checks; love it. The next time she cracks will be very interesting (as well as how she deals with mass murder). And if Spider-San is anything go go by, we'll get more spooky scary demons rather than just the humanoid types that litter the actual mythology or the easymode snakes Naraku used all the time as canon fodder.
>>
>>35259984
Oh I'm digging it at this point as well. I want her to be aware of how fucked up things are. Sunshine and cuddles is not the appropriate response.

Spider-san. My current worry with Yura is based on that. OH MY GOD YOU USE FLESH INSTEAD OF JUST THE HAIR!?! I HAVE TO TRY THIS!

If she doesn't Hurt/Take the Jewel from Kagome I'm fine with whatever the hell she does really.

I'm pulling for my binding the corruption tunnel theory. Hell maybe we just opened up and let out all the badness inside the jewel and hit people with it. I HAVE TO LIVE WITH THIS YOU BASTARDS, TIME FOR YOU TO TRY!
>>
Ok so I reread tonight and while a lot of you will probably write it off as filler like the last thread it gives us a lot of clues here.

Notice how the seamstress references a master (however he seems to use a plural)? The little fellow we ran into the night before ALSO used master. This was in reference (most likely) to the fly lich or whatever it was.

When we fought him a black rain was mentioned and said the scent was familiar to us at the murder scene and in the spooky room.

I think it's safe to say that the spider man was working with or for the lich on some level. The spiders eyes being that blue also makes me think back to the hooded vision we saw in the dream.
>>
>>35259915
>I'll kick and scream to keep any ability we get that can wreck a room full of dudes instantly.
Yeah, maybe we should check the side effects first and make sure it doesn't do something atrocious, like take 5 years off our lifespan. Or even worse, cause our arms to rot and fall. Then we'd have to cast with our legs until they rot as well.
>>
>>35260278
Lifespan with the jewel isn't an issue we're effectively immortal with that. It's brought the dead back regularly.

>Arms rot fall off.
Hmm.. that would reduce combat effectiveness. You have a point.
>>
aaaand we're past the bump limit. Good show folks.

>>35260278
>>35260315
The Jewel pretty much just does whatever whenever and however. If we would rot, I'm pretty sure it would heal us.
>>
>>35260036
>Sunshine and cuddles is not the appropriate response
I think she figured that out on our first sanity check
>>
>>35260391
So her default is ignorance is bliss? We need to fix that shit right now.
>>
>>35260412
Have you been reading the quest? That's practically her motto, especially before she started off down the road.

She's in a burning house, insisting everything is fine. Slowly becoming aware of the heat as the flame laps at her face.
>>
>>35260334
>If we would rot, I'm pretty sure it would heal us.
It could heal us, yes, but it's a tad difficult to keep it on us if the arms rot off midbattle and we suddenly had to grow new ones.

Gotta have some set of precautions, because disease-based powers in this setting will probably have a drawback.
>>
>>35260451
Will you assist me in forcing her to see the flames? Course... we probably just did that by more or less thrusting a hand into the fire.
>>
>>35260480
She's probably going to go through a long denial process until she just breaks.

Where the fuck was Kujo and why wasn't he drug down along with Inuyasha anyway?
>>
>>35260499
Average human probably just beaten/killed on the spot.
>>
>>35260512
I don't think would kill him off screen like that. /tg/ tends to rage pretty hard whenever they fail at something or make a bad choice and have to deal with consequences. Especially when it results in pet npc death.

Characters are not people or characters to most /tg/ questers. They are possessions meant to be collected and when the collection is disturbed, they rage.
>>
>>35260557
Ah. All I can say is If my players wandered off after failing perception rolls I'd have probably done awful things to the individuals left behind.

I don't consider him a possession. He's a client who is paying us... who we left behind alone in a room.
>>
>>35260601
Along with Inuyasha and all the perception rolls were for detective work. Guess that one guy a few threads ago whining about not using perception got his fill.
>>
>>35260635
Well tell him I hate him. Perception is awful. Strength/Toughness/evasion all day everyday.
>>
>>35260601
>>35260635
Characters that die off screen are never dead anyway.
>>
>>35260683
Yes they're traitors and spies.
>>
>>35260692
[Aizen Intensifies]
>>
>>35260727
Or was it I who was intensifying while you only thought you had intensified?
>>
>>35260727
See this worries me. Aizen could probably drop Naraku pretty easily and for all intents and purposes the sacred jewel is... his.. hogekiou or however the hell you spelled that box thing.
>>
>>35260755
Tell me, when were you under the impression that I was intensifying while you only thought I was intensifying when in fact I'm intensifying right behind you

>>35260788
Yep. Waaaaaay back in the early days of the thread Snow admitted to his players (I think) that the two universes share a ton of similarities. However a lot of japanese shows and manga dealing with this kind of spiritual stuff all sort of do.

For instance Bleaches Plot Rock and the Philosophers Stone (their core composition).
>>
>>35260847

... ya I could see Snow pulling that. people keep clamoring for Bleach tie ins and he is nothing if not influenced by his players wishes...
>>
>>35261217
Simple we use the plot rock before him.

Unless... that was planned this whole time.
>>
>>35261261
>Gee Aizen, how come your plot armor lets you have TWO plot rocks?
>Because I was behind you this whole time.
I am now hoping beyond hope that this quest ends in us throwing down with some elder god, cutting a scar across the world that is felt even in modern times. We can change the future guys... We can mold it. Shape it. Control it.
>>
>>35261324
Of course we can change the future... we're in the past. If we marshal and army and start taking over towns we'd be in the goddamn history books.
>>
>>35261341
actually... don't we have a history book on us?
>>
>>35261432
Well for any impact we'd need to smash a shrine or attack an army and win.. something historical.

Though I don't think we're in the right frame of mind to peel through the pages at the moment.
>>
>>35261462
Well to be fare the book probably doesn't have anything about demons or the blatant super natural shit seeping through the culture either.

Of course things may have been written off as myth, but Kogas little genocidal rampage would certainly have made some kind of ripple.

You're right though, we just got pushed over that little edge folks were talking about a quest or two ago so I doubt we'll be eager to flip through any time soon. Not to mention she hates schoolwork.
>>
>>35261524
Clearly since we're over the edge and hate school work.. we should kill something with the book.

Anyone have any ideas on what the trip up into the mountains may have in store for us? I'm betting wolf demons. Lots of them.
>>
>>35261721
>Wolf Demons

Phhft target practice. We're going to crush those furry no eared bastards.

Are we not getting the mutt his sword first? That's kind of important. If his tool of a brother acquires it we're going to have some issues.
>>
>>35261767
We're headed into the mountains to find it. If fluffy gets it... well it'll forever just be a busted ass katana to him
>>
>>35261807
Hah. Maybe we should let him have it then. We'll take the Ten'sega. After all we could use an extra life at some point.

Inuyasha can be relegated to medic while we take over front line combat.

Foul mouthed cleric dog is go!
>>
>>35261829
But then the two brothers won't learn nuffen seriously the powers the swords have are unlocks only once each of them have learned the appropriate life lesson pops wanted to teach them
>>
...I might not have been here while it was happening, but I just want to say I enjoyed reading the detectiving after the fact.
And I'm still glad we recruited Yura.
>>
>>35261901
When reading it's quick and not a half hour/hour long grind to see that we see nothing.
>>
>>35262011
The second we hit the midway point (the murder scene) is when the ball seriously got rolling thanks to that amazing 18, but I have to agree... handling an investigation/ murder mystery on /tg/ by way of questing and rolling is not the most engaging, but hey it still makes for a nice read if you're benging.
>>
>>35262011
Fair enough.
>>
>>35262160
Yeah It's a fine archive thing. But when participating and you're staying up late it's... dull.

Love the overall result snow don't take it too harshly or anything. Wasn't as bad as shopping after all.
>>
>>35262202
Nothing is as bad as shopping. Not even QMs bailing on their own quests midway through a session for no given reason or notice.
>>
>>35262245
And shopping is over and due to the luke warm reception of detecting I think this is the first and last we'll see of this too.
>>
Any final thoughts before we finally sink for the day?
>>
>>35262929
Kagome needs to harden the fuck up and this was the catalyst?

I'm happy. I got to sleep wake up and spew out my theories.
>>
>>35263130
>Black Lagoon twilight speech goes here
>>
>>35263194
Not familiar with that speech.
>>
>>35263212
Basically a school girl who becomes head of the yakuza tells Rock he's in the twilight since he's trying to look at a dark world with hope and optimism with stars in his eyes. He's nit in the light where he came from (normal life) or in the dark (crime and murder and all). He's in the center wanting a normal life while trying to work with criminals in the darkness.

Or something to that effect. Basically he's sort of like Kagome is/was before being tipped over into the darkness.

If you haven't read or watched Black Lagoon, I highly recommend it.
