Standing in an energon storage room, guns drawn, companions at your side and enemies all around, you feel something you haven't felt in millennia.

You level your guns, the Pathblaster and Energon Harvester you recently acquired, in Swindles' direction. The shocked Decepticon raises a datapad to defend himself.

To your left Gyro takes a thunderous step forward in the Aegis Tank Armour and raises its mace hand. Under lit by the energon tanks, armoured glass containers set in the floor in a grid, the armour casts a large shadow on ceiling.

To your right Doublecross readies his heatsword and scatterblaster, and behind you you hear Repugnus and Grotesque ready their guns.

"Dead or alive you're coming with me Swindle!" You bellow.

"Wait, you ain't Magnus!" He shouts back.

The storage room is large, large enough that you can't teleport from one end to the other but you stand at its center so that wouldn't be a big problem. Three Brutes stand dumbly around Swindle, and there are a number of service drones hauling cargo crates around. A few minor Decepticons oversee them. Behind you, towards the large armoured door stand four Goliath security drones.

Just behind Swindle, who stands next to a wheeled transport, is the space bridge. A bight green hole in reality sits at its center. To the side of that stands Carnage. The Cybertronian you had originaly been planning to destroy.

A thought had entered your mind moments before teleporting. Astroclaw wanted Swindle dead and Carnage alive. You wanted Carnage dead and didn't care about the other. Why send you to both of them?

Why not have Carnage kill the little sneak theif?

You grin for the first time in dozens of millenia.

You'll just have to plunge in and see.

The Aegis takes another ponderous step, then another as Gyro charges towards the 'Cons. A backhand with the mace smashes a grey and oily drone to pieces. The cargo lift it was pushing careens across the glowing floor.

You hear the sound of cannon fire from behind.

"They need better lighting in here." Grotesques says over the roar of his weapon.

None of this concerns you though. With your optics on Swindle you -zzap- out and back. Now perched on the trailer you stare down at the yellow 'Con.

His head snaps up to look at you. Forcing a grin he meets your red optics with his purple ones.

"Heeeeyyyy..." He utters.

Your sensors detect the Brutes moving to intercept Gyro and Doublecross. You also detect massive amounts of energy discharge back where Repugnus and Grotesque are.

Crouched on the trailer you quickly look over the criminal. He looks much the same as he did thousands of years ago, except you note he is more heavily armoured and no doubt concealing a few weapons. His pale yeallow chassis now sports a purple Decepticon insignia just under the windshields of his alt.

You also note that the trailer you are on is giving off no energy signature. Most likely it's heavily shielded.

Snarling at the criminal you lash out with a fanged foot.

Fangs sprout in a cluster on the top of your foot and slam into the 'Con. He manages to shrug a shoulder up in time to take the blow, saving him from losing his head. Instead, a large chunk of his shoulder tears away. The hunk of yellow armour clatters on the floor as you sweep your other leg around.

Now airborne, you slam a serrated heel into the spinning 'Cons' back and tear even more of his armour to shreds.

He yelps as he falls and turns into his alt. Wheels screeching, he zooms around the trailer.

"I need help here!" He yells.

A jump brings you back on top of the trailer. You see Swindle swerve around, leaving tire tracks on the floor, as he turn into a drift that brings him closer to Carnage and put you in his turrets' sights.

Surprising Carnage has made no move to join in. His imposing form darkened by the glare of the space bridge.

I used the armour ratings to determine the range of damage foe weak and strong weapons. The AR ranges from 5-47 normally, while mods can add up to 20 more. So weak guns, like Krackens' starer pistol I figured should start at 30, capable of harming and killing weak dudes but not able to scratch stronger foes.

Kinda guessed and experimented from there.
Unarmed does strength
Melee weapons do strength plus something between 10-39
Pistols can range from 30-60
Rifles 40-70
Cannons 55-100
there are alot of special cases
These are all subject to change as I get more data from number crunching and the quest. (the quest uses the numbers s more of a guide line, in order to keep things interesting)

With a growl you leap off the trailer, only to disappear in midair.

>Energon Reserve-60/175

A -zzap- brings you into a flip, landing just behind the yellow buggy.

A Brute, its chestplate smashed in, soars overhead and lands near Carnage. You hear Gyro war cry from not to far away and detect the Aegis crushing the last of the Brutes.

Carnage still isn't moving and you have more questions than you like bouncing around in your head. Looking at the Swindle, and remembering how he always tried to bargain his way out of arrests, gives you an idea.

You holster you Pathblaster and ready the shockglove covering your fist along with the Energon Harvester.

With a growl you kick Swindle right in the tailpipe hard enough to lift his back end a few feet in the air. Then you swing your gloved fist around to strike him solidly in the same spot.

A surge of electricity burst from the glove and stuns his circuitry.

>Urayan Shock Gloves 1/2

Racing around you fire your gun at his side. It happens in a quarter of a second. The tr-rectangular barrel emits a dim beam of light that washes over the yellow buggy, then the light rushes back, a bright node of energy on its tail. The energy is transmitted from the gun to your hand by tiny plugs that connect the weapon to you.

>Energon Reserve-71/175

Swindle groans in agony.

You feel the floor shake as Gyro reaches you. Thunderous stride propelling it forward, she charges the shadowy figure of Carnage.

Turning from the stunned 'Con to watch, you see the cannon on Carnages' should aim at the Aegis and open fire.

A brilliant beam of energy slams into the charging armour. It pushes it back a few meters, energy spilling around the heated plates of the Aegis as it takes another step, Gyro pushing its shoulder against the beam. You can see bit of molten metal flying away.

"Gyro!" You snarl and run to her aid.

You see the beam finally die down and the Aegis slumps to one knee. The shoulder connecting its normal is a lump of fused, glowing metal.

Carnage steps out of the shadows and into the bright green light of the space bridge. Nearly two and a half time your height, and thickly built, his hull is painted deep black with angular red lined covering it. His face is hidden by a black grill. A cannon rests on one shoulder, a strange antennae array on the other. Long barrels blaster rifles sit in pairs on each forearm.

An imposing Cybertronian. For most.

Vaulting the Aegis with a snarl you raise your Energon Harvester and fire.

A wave of pale energy washes over the hulking transformer and instantly returns...

>Energon Reserve-77/175

... with a very meager prize. Seems his armour is rather thick. You land in a crouch and glare up at him.

He looks down and tilts his head at you.

The Aegis roars past and hammers its mace into Carnages' leg. It swings back and he flails slightly before regaining balance. You see that the armour plating on his shin is dented.

Behind, you detect the Monsterbots finishing off the last of the Brutes and Goliaths, but the two Decepticons are giving them a little more trouble. The third Decepticon you detect rummaging through some crates.

With a groan Swindle transforms and falls on his side before trying to rise.

"What hit me?" He asks no one in particular.

All this vanishes once you redirect your attention to Carnage. Arms raised, he trains his blasters on you and Gyro.

A hail of energy bolts rains down, bright orange and destructive. They ping off the Aegis' armour, one shot finding the its ruined shoulder and causing smoke and molten steel to burst from the wound.

You, on the other hand, find yourself dancing between the shots. Twisting, turning and sidestepping multiple blasts. A single shot finds its mark though, hitting you in the chest and sending you spinning.

Surprisingly, a web of blue hexagons spreads from the shot. You regain your balance and see that it caused no damage.

"Give me an opening." You shout to Gyro.

The Aegis lurches to its feet and lunges at Carnage. It mace swings back then forward like a pendulum as it rotates at the hip to deliver a devastating haymaker at Carnages' dented leg. Unfortunatly it doesn't land as the massive Cybertronian leaps over the armour and lands with a thunderous clamor behind her.

You hear Swindle transform and see him back up against the trailer. There is a click as the two connect then he starts the arduous proccess of hauling its armoured bulk up the ramp to the space bridge.

No time for that though.

With his attention on Gyro and the Aegis you fold your chestplate up and begin charging the deep red energy of your cannon.

Focused on Gyro as he is, Carnage doesn't know what is happening behind him until the beam tears through his midsection and out the other side.

The giant stumbles. One hand going to the hole that runs right through his lower middle. Oddly, he doesn't make a sound.

Carnage takes one staggering step around to look at you. His grilled facemask reveals nothing.

Then he transforms.

Legs joining together, head folding in and arms merging at his sides, he turns into that same wedge shaped armoured transport you had seen on the Tri-Torus.

His wheels screech as he charges you, pointed prow black and red.

You leap and roll away from the oncoming vehicle. It roars past and instead of turning it continues to bullrush the Monsterbots.

The three of them are in their alts by now. Doublecrosses twin headed dragon form goes airborne as Carnage approaches, but Grotesque, who appears to be some sort of winged feline, takes a glancing hit to his hindquarters. A large, toad-like insect with great scything claws whom you take to be Repugnus manages to dance aside and rake Carnages' armour plating.

Carnage screeches to a sliding halt, fresh gouges along his side.

Gyro races past you, charging the Aegis across the energon filled floor with a thunderous stride.

You see the pair of Decepticons the Monsterbots had been fighting has been reduced to one. The other is a smoking ruin while the last is trying to support himself against some crates. His hull is ripped and torn and energon leaks from the wounds.

You also detect the third Decepticon helping to push Swindle and the trailer through the space bridge.

ignoring the Decepticons as they flee you concentrate on Carnage and pull one of the Dimensional Decimators from your hip.

You focus your sensors on him, isolating the gap within your mind.

As you do you detect something off within him. His protoskeleton is... different.

"Get back!" You yell to the others.

Not waiting for any surprises the grenade disappears with a -zzap-, the device turning bright purple then simply gone.

>Energon Reserve-31/175

There is a brief moment where the only sound is Carnages' revving engine then your sensors go haywire.

A sphere seem to engulf the back end of Carnage, though of what you couldn't say. Light bends and breaks, as does Carnage and the floor beneath him. A perfect sphere of absolute destruction engulfs the area though no sound can be heard.

Just like that it's over. There is a pop as air rushes to fill the void left and the front end of Carnages' chassis slumps back into the hole, now filling with energon from breached containers.

"That was..." One of Doublecross' heads say.

"...weirdly unimpressive." The other finishes.

"Unimpressive!" Grotesque exclaims as he limps up to the hole. "We just saw reality torn apart and remade! The very fabric of this dimension snipped out and sewn back up!"

Doublecross transforms and shrugs. "I like thunder with my lightning."

"It was effective." Repugnus states.

Then Grotesque yelps.

Pulling himself up from the hole, what is left of Carnage grabs hold of Grotesques throat with one skeletal hand. The monstrous being has been reduced to protoskeleton, and you see that he is made of some strange, silvery substance. Only his feet remain as they were.

More horrifying is that he has no head whatsoever. Only the bright green spark burning in his chest seem to be driving him.

Behind you the space bridge closes then collapses on itself.

Then, crushing Grotesques' neck and casting him aside, the monster glows a bright red and vanishes.

"Na, I think we're done here." Repugnus replies.

"What!? I paid you..."

"You know what that was?" He interrupts.

"What?" You growl.

"What?" You growl again impatiently.

"In the closing part of the war, Megatron developed some kind of super-soldier modification. Only point one percenters got the treatment, and it makes 'em near invincible. Saw Sixshot take out an entire fleet on his own."

"I paid you..." Gyro starts again only to be interrupted again.

"You're paying us for time, resources, effort, and damages." Repugnus says while nodding his scratched and dented head towards the other Monster bots. Doublecross is walking towards your group slowly with an unconscious Grotesque slung over his shoulders.

"Not really my problem." He says.

You drink a final scoop of energon then turn to him.

>Energon Reserve-76/175

"Look at it this way," You say while wiping the glowing liquid from your mouth, "You can either let us tell other 'Bots you ran from a simple job, or gain renown for having killed one of these 'phase-sixers'" You finish, spreading your arms grandly.

No intimidation, don't want an ally on those terms.

A look of consideration crosses his face, then he glances over to his companions.

Nodding his head he look back to you. "We'll think about it."

"Really?" You ask, raising an optic brow.

"Monsterbot have to vote unanimous for a job. We need to repair and restock. Tell you what, you track him down once we have and..."He nods his head sideways,"... yeah, I'll vote for wreckin' the slag-muncher."

You chuckle. "Well alright then."

You jump out of the hole as Repugnus goes to talk to Doublecross. The two start a quiet, heated conversation.

Your attention is taken from them however, as the sound of crushing metal reaches you. Seems Gyro is venting herself on the last Decepticon. You see his arms flailing about under the heavy foot of the Aegis as she slowly crushes him.

>Go calm her down.
>Let her vent, then talk to her.
>Investigate the area.

We need him able to talk. He might be able to tell us why they wanted Swindle killed and what they were doing.

Quickly jogging over to her you see a pool of energon forming under the armours' foot. The Decepticon slaps his hands against it uselessly, cries for help and mercy going unheeded.

"Gyro! Whoa! Ease up. We've done all we can."

"Not...enough...." You hear here say through gritted teeth.

"Come on," You say, placing a hand on the straining leg," We can use him. Get info on what's going on here, what Swindle is up to and where he's gone."

"I don't care about Swindle."

You hear another loud crunch.

"He lead you to Carnage once right? Helped you find me."

Still nothing.

"We'll kill him. No doubt about it. I assure you."

After a moment she lifts her armoured foot of the 'Con. Then crushes his arm as he slumps in exhaustion.

She grinds her heel then steps away from the screaming 'Con.

Nodding to her as she stands off to the side, you then look down at the injured transformer.

His deep blue hull is cracked and crumpled, energon flows from his joints and mouth. Probably doesn't have long left.

You'll have to make your questions count.

>choose two
>"What do you know about this station?"
>"Who is Astroclaw?"
>"Where would Swindle be now?"
>"Where would Carnage be now?"
>"What was the cargo you were transporting?"

Those seem like they will give us clues as to everything else.

Swindle can tell us about astroclaw and carnage.

You slap the groaning Decepticon lightly.

"Hey. Hey, optics this way." You growl.

"Wha-at?" He asks, his voice crackling with static.

"Tell us where Swindle went. Do that and maybe you don't bleed out."

"Wh--I."

You snap your fingers in front of him.

"Where did Swindle go?"

"He...weeeee...went to Ultimemecha."

You frown at that. Ultimecha was a Quintesson world. True, it was their neutral trading hub with the galaxy. Even Cybertronians were allowed. People still tend to disappear around there quite frequently.

His head lulls to one side and you turn his face back to yours. His optics, hidden behind a green visor, were flickers.

"What was the cargo?" You out as much force into the question as you can.

"Energon..." He whispers.

"Energon?" You ask incredulously. No way they spent that much effort on energon.

"Neeew... kinnnnd..." His optics fade and he goes silent.

You let go of him and stand. Gyro stares down at the wreck, a grim look on her face.

"We have a destination. And a crook to catch." You say.

"Yeah."

"We got a way off this station?"

She nods.

>"Then we should get going."
>"We'll leave in a bit. I still want to search the area."
>"I still want to find Astroclaw, see if he's somewhere here. Let's go search the bowels of the station."

We need to find out what the hell this quantum processor is.

You could just use it. See what happens!

Seeing her distant look you figure you've bot had enough of this place.

"Then we should get going."

The group heads towards the remaining hangar. You come across security drones, but they have all been deactivated and stand motionless.

You part ways with the Monsterbots in the hanger with a friendly handshake between you and Repugnus. Doublecross grins at you and says he hopes to fight with you again. You can't tell if he means alongside or against. Probably both.

A small shuttle arrives. Sleek and silver it's piloted by the bodyguard of the merchant you met on Cybertron, though you forget his name, if you ever knew it.

After stowing the Aegis armour, with difficulty, on the shuttle he flied you and Gyro to the merchants' ship.

Along the way you let your servos and processor rest. It may have been eight years since you had been active, but it certainly felt like your life had gotten far more hectic than you were used to.

Kaamos, a conical space station drifting some five thousand light years above the galactic disk, slowly shrinks into the darkness behind you.
