My name is Cecile, and I'm sixteen years old. Though I'd like to think that my upbringing was pretty normal, my parents got a really good job offer last year that would force them to move to the opposite end of the country... and that was the end of my "normal childhood." And after reading that weird book that my best friend Mina had sent to my house, I myself can't even be called "normal" anymore.

With the fight over, my first concern was to make sure that Charlotte was okay... but she was really injured and I was freaking out pretty badly, so I used her phone to call up her father and ask him what I should do.

While I was in the middle of this, Kevin showed up out of nowhere! Somehow, Charlotte's father was able to convince him that Charlotte's injuries were because of something other than her getting beat up my a man who I burnt to death with a sun laser, and he was actually nice enough to drive us to the hospital.

The hospital people carted Charlotte off right away since she was so badly injured, but they wouldn't let me come with her. Too tired to try and fight them about it, I went ahead and got checked out myself like they suggested.

And then I ended up passing out from exhaustion.

I woke up in a hospital bed with Allison trying to crush- er, hugging me... After some sisterly bonding and crying, Allison managed to convince a nurse to take me to visit Charlotte's room.

>"I know that I look like a mess," Charlotte says with a weak smile, waving to me with her unbroken arm. "but at least one of us seems to be mostly unhurt..."

>I thought that I was all cried out, but the wave of relief that hits me upon seeing that Charlotte's okay and in good spirits is just to much for me to take.

"Charlotte, you..." I choke out as I slowly approach the injured girl. "You look so..."
"Yes, I look like hell," Charlotte says with a bitter laugh. "I'm just glad to see that you weren't beaten up as badly as I was... but why are you in a hospital gown?" she asks with a look of concern on her face.

...oh yeah, I totally forgot that I was wearing this.

"I kinda passed out while a doctor was examining me," I mumble.
"Y- you're hurt too!?" Charlotte gasps.
"No, no!" I furiously shake my head. "I just passed out from exhaustion or something, that's all!"
"Oh," she leans back in her bed and breathes a sigh of relief. "When that man showed up, I was so... what happened to him, anyways? Did you chase him off?"

I feel sick.

"No," I slowly shake my head. "I... I took care of it."

Charlotte stares at me with a look of utter disbelief.

"Oh... I didn't even..." Charlotte closes her eyes.
"Don't blame yourself," I say. "I'm the one who decided to do it, anyways."
"If you say so," she says, putting a hand over her face. "What about Mina and your other friend, are they okay?"
"Yeah," I reply. "They stayed back to, uh..." I sigh. "Mina called up your father and I guess he told her that he'd have his people take care of it."
"...I guess she would call him. I wish I could, but I can't seem to find my phone anywhere, and the doctors said that I didn't have it on me when I came in."

Oh yeah, I totally forgot.

"I actually took it to call him and ask what do do about you being hurt," I say. "I guess it's in the room that they brought me to now, you want me to get it?"
"No," Charlotte shakes her head. "You don't have to do so right now, I'd like you to stay here for a little bit longer if you could."
"Sure," I say, forcing a smile.

It hurts just to see Charlotte like this, but I'm still happy to be able to talk with her like this again. For a good while there, I was convinced that we were both going to die...

"So, um..." Charlotte turns to me, "...was Mr. Gauthier worried when you called?"
"Yeah," I nod. "He thought that it was you calling at first, and it sounded like he was worried, at least."

Loki actually has been following CC most of the time, after CC changed her mind about telling Charlotte to stop spying on her. Loki talking to Mina happened right when Charlotte woke up.

"Eheh..." Charlotte forces a smile. "My arm was broken is several places, the doctor who spoke to me after I woke up said that it was one of the worst breaks that he'd ever seen."
"Yeah, I can imagine," I say, shuddering as I remember the way that her bones were sticking out through-

I don't want to be the pushy girlfriend here, but I sure as hell will if it means that she's not going to go and get herself hurt even worse.

I'd rather not hand her phone to a stranger, even if that person happens to be a nurse. It would PROBABLY be fine, but it isn't urgent so lets just hang on to it.

"...whatever," I mutter under my breath as I duck inside the room and stomp over to the bed.
"Cecile?" When she sees me enter the room, Allison stands up from her seat beside the bed. "You look mad, what's wrong?"
"Phone stuff, it's not important," I mumble.

Dammit, it was a simple request that would have took like two minutes! And it's not like I could just trust someone else with her phone, I'm not even supposed to have it myself!

"Did you and Charlotte get in a fight?" Allison asks. "How's she doing, anyways?"
"We didn't, and she's fine," I reply as I get back in the bed. "She has a broken arm and some of her ribs are too, but aside from that she seems alright."
"Well that's good," she says, breathing a sigh of relief. "After the two of you got kidnapped and all, I'd hate to hear that you got into a fight on top of everything else."

Yeah, that would suck.

"nope, I sigh, "all's fine on the romance front."
"That's great to hear," Allison nods. "So have you done it yet?"

I want to smack that grin off of her face.

"No we haven't done it yet," I say as I pick up a pillow from off the bed and throw it at her. "Why do you always have to make everything about sex?"
"What, it's a totally reasonable question!" Allison replies with a shrug. "And I always tell you about when I start getting physical with a guy..."
"I don't want to know that stuff, you tell it to me on your own!" I groan.

I swear, this girl...

"Would you just go away already?" I ask. "I'm not in a good mood and I'm tired and it's been a horrible, HORRIBLE day..."
"Whatever you want," Allison replies, getting up from her chair and tossing the pillow that I threw at her back onto the bed. "But you ought to know one thing..."

Out of nowhere, Allison practically falls on top of me and pulls me into a bear hug.

"What are you-"
"I love you more than aaaaaaaaaanyone else in the whole world, Cecile," Allison says as she hold me tightly in her arms. "I was so worried over the past few days, I thought I was gonna die... but now you're safe and you have no idea how happy I am to have you back and unhurt."

Uh...

"...I love you too," I say as I hug her back. "Even though you're pain in the ass and a pervert to boot."
"And you're oblivious and a closet pervert," Allison replies as she lets me go.

I opened myself up for that one, I guess.

"...thought I guess you're not in the closet anymore," Allison laughs.
"Dammit Allison!" I shout as I try and swing at her, but she jumps out of my reach before I can and starts towards the door. "I'll see you first thing tomorrow morning!"

Once Allison's out of the room, I fall back on the bed and take off my glasses. My eyes hurt and my head hurts and I'm just tired of... everything. And while hoping that maybe my life will finally go back to normal, I drift off to sleep.

I'm woken up by the warmth of the sun beaming down on me through the window. It feels so nice, I wish I could stay like this forever...

...and then I remember that dream I had last night and that pleasant feeling goes RIGHT away. I can't even recall any specifics of it, just that there was a lot of... arguing. And killing.

I hope I'm not going crazy.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Hm?" Putting on my glasses, I make sure that I'm decent and then call out to whoever knocked on the door. "Come in!"

With a loud creak, the door opens and I hear several footsteps as people enter the room...

"Hey, Cecile," Mina says, waving at me. "Allison called and said that you were here in the hospital, so I figured that I should pay you a visit."
"...and so did I," Theresa says as she peeks out from behind Mina.

Seeing them actually doing stuff together is really going to take some getting used to.

"So, uh... you're gonna be discharged today?" Mina asks.
"That's the hope," I reply with a shrug. "This was only supposed to be for observation, and it's not like I'm actually hurt."
"At least there's some good news," Theresa nods.

Mina and Theresa came to my rescue when me and Charlotte were captured, then they helped me fight that bastard and... that. And now they both came to see me at the hospital and I just...

"Th... thanks, you two," I say, smiling at the two of them while doing my best to not turn into a big sobbing mess. "For everything, I mean. You're the best friends that anyone could possibly ask for, and, um..."

Having completely failed at that difficult thing called "talking," I hop out of the bed and hog both of them at the same time. I cant' even remember the last time I did this...

"Yeah, well..." Mina mumbles. "You're my best friend and all, of course I'd try and help if you were in trouble."
"Same," Theresa nods before squirming out of my grip.

Oh yeah, this must be extra awkward for her.

"I wish I was done with my costume, but I guess wearing it to go and save a friend was a pretty good use for its first outing..." Theresa says, laughing nervously.
"And I guess I can say the same for my Armored Heart," Mina shrugs. "I'm just glad that I managed to gain enough control over it to actually be of use in so short a timeframe, I've only had it for three days."

Speaking of which...

"So you read the book the morning that you were absent from school?" I ask.
"No, the night before," Mina replies. "And it was good timing, huh."
"Yeah," I nod. "And, um... about the book..."
"Ugh, I was dreading this," she sighs. "Charlotte asked you about it, right?"

I was talking about sneaking around the concept of the books entirely, not necessarily the two physical objects. "NO I TOTALLY JUST WOKE UP WITH SUPERPOWERS IN BETWEEN NOW AND WHEN WE LAST MET. I DUNNO LOL" and all that.

Going "Yeah, so she knew I was keeping something from her this whole time, and after our Nth time escaping mortal peril I figure it's probably about time I came clean with her about them" isn't terribly unreasonable.

"Cecile, you did not go and tell her that -I- had a book too..." Theresa says, backing away from me.

"God fucking DAMN IT!" she clenches her hands ans lowers her head. "Me and Mina talked about this shit while we were on the way to rescue YOU!" she points at me. "Yeah she knew about the book, but she had NO fucking reason to know that BOTH of us had our own!"
"Hey," Mina turns to her. "Calm down, this isn't as bad as you-"
"No!" Theresa shouts. "That wasn't even her fucking business to be spreading and she just sold, me out to her girlfriend!"

Sold her out? Wait, I didn't-

"Mina was all ready to give away her book, but I have every intention of holding onto mine!" Theresa shouts. "But do you think that little miss rich girl is going to just go 'Sure, I only needed one copy of the magic powergranting book?' NO, now MY ass is going to be targeted by them and-"

Quite on the contrary. The time traveler's cabal has cunningly swept into motion a series of events that will further widen the rift between Cecile and Theresa, as their continued relationship significantly increased mortality probability for all parties. Soon, Theresa shall retreat into a mental cocoon and U-Theresa's glorious incandescence shall sweep away the sinful decrepit weeds that leech the World's vitality.

Seriously though, she's probably having a hell of a mental row with her split. We'll need to watch a lot more anime with her to prevent any unfortunate developments.

About Otheresa in the constantly talking about how it was "betraying US" sense, not in the sense of why she came out to play.

If Theresa feels like we wronged her, there's no way to address it unless she lets us answer to her, not the rapey voice taking advantage of a lapse in concentration.
>>
Oh no... I really messed up. And if me telling Charlotte about Theresa's book makes her depressed, then the other Theresa can-

"I'm sorry!" I shout. "I wouldn't have told if I knew that it would upset her!"
"...do you honestly think that's an acceptable excuse?" Theresa asks. "'Sorry, I didn't know?' Even if you -are- cute, there are limits to-"

Both Theresa and Mina stare at me.

"Yeah it was stupid," Theresa says, glaring at me. Really fucking stupid."
"I don't know why you're freaking out so much," Mina says, turning to her. "I mean, it's not like you can even do anything with the book anymore to begin with."
"Yeah," I nod. "Why did you want to keep it, I mean-"
"It's a memento," Theresa says. "The book that gave me my powers, the one that started all of this shit. I hid it and I was gonna keep on hiding it and bring it out of its hiding place when I wanted to reminisce. That's all. I'm not retarded enough to try and use it on anyone, and I'm also not retarded enough to TELL ANYONE ABOUT IT!"

Theresa raises a trembling fist, but then takes a deep breath and slumps against the wall.

"As if there was any doubt..." Theresa mumbles as she covers her eyes with the sleeve of her hoodie.

In point of fact, whatever shady character was responsible for selling you the book knows you have it, and could easily sell that information to anyone at all, or someone could force it out of them or steal it if it's recorded somewhere.

"Seriously, Theresa," Mina says as she walks up to her. "you need to calm the hell down. Cecile's been through a lot and she doesn't need this."
"Oh, and you think that I do?" she points to herself. "Or that YOU do? Or have you forgotten what we were doing yesterday after that guy drove Cecile to the hospital? apparently we were given zero chance to diffuse this situation. Theresa just blew up and Cecile just couldn't get a word in edgewise no matter what the players actualy wanted to say
>>
>>35298056
Just like in real life.
>>
>>35298055
>wah I didn't read the thread or see how we got screwed over
>>
>>35298041
I know that if I was CC I would immediately send Theresa an SMS stating that: She really wants her as a friend. Charlotte can detect lies and would find out about the book sooner or later.
>>
>>35298065
Nah, real life you always have the option of slapping them until they calm down, or until it turns into a fight. Really, both of the results lead to a better understanding of the situation.
>>
>>35298041
You think Theresa gives a shit?

If you leave all the touchy feeling friendship and feelings out of it, CC was obviously right.

But Theresa is butthurt about exactly that: touchy feely friendship feelings, and the perceived betrayal thereof. Logic isn't going to make her less mad, and she was obviously going to leave in a huff either way, except for MAYBE if CC totally backed down and threw herself to her knees and begged forgiveness.

We can say those things when she's calmed down and isn't in the middle of teenage girl hysterics. Trying to say rational words in the middle of a teenage girl hysterical fit is totally useless.
>>
>>35297956
Even if you think we're a tremendous shithead for doing this, why the fuck would you decide to run off?

The reason you're mad is that you feel betrayed and now you think people are going to be after your book (that you claim not to care about beyond it being a keepsake.) So instead of just being mad at CC and upset that you're forced to give it up because of her judgment call, you cut all ties and run off, thereby guaranteeing that the person you're worried about going after you for the book IS REQUIRED TO GO AFTER YOU FOR THE BOOK RATHER THAN JUST BEING A BEGRUDGING HAND-OFF.

Jesus christ, Theresa.
>>
>>35298082
Do you even emotions?
>>
Where you at Arch? You got some explaining to do
>>
>>35298096
No, he really doesn't.

People aren't all robots who will just spit out desired reactions if you input the correct logic chain. Theresa was pissed and nothing was going to prevent her from being pissed.
>>
>>35298096
Eh, Theresa being emotional and stupid is nothing new. Only thing I dread is that next thread it will all be about totally different things and Theresa will be left alone to nurture her anger.
>>
>>35298096
No, we do.
>>
>>35298110
I still want to know why he wouldn't use our arguments. and he said it was time for questions, that usualy means we can get some answers
>>

>>35298041
The "charlotte can sense lies" thing is the only thing that I didn't immediately use from the stuff that you posted, I was constantly going back and forth to include the other points that I saw. Don't think that I'm trying to railroad her into becoming your enemy or anything.

And like >>35298074
said, you can always send her a text saying other stuff. Hell, remind me about it in the next thread and it'll happen.

>>35298056
>apparently we were given zero chance to diffuse this situation. Theresa just blew up and Cecile just couldn't get a word in edgewise no matter what the players actualy wanted to say
Theresa's default reaction when things she doesn't like happens is "turn invisible and run away." She blew up at Cecile because she felt betrayed, but it's not like she didn't hear what was said to her either. It's just not going to process until some of that teenage girl angst has worked its way out of her system.

Sticking around for a little longer if you had anything to yell at me about.
>>
>>35298074
Yeah. Send her something like:
"plz cm bk!!!! im soz!!!!!! ur my frnd & i <3 u!!!!!!!!!!"
>>
>>35298125
sigh fine. but next threat I'm voting we get on damage control asap. The last thin I want is for her to go all emo "nobody loves me so I'll just listen to the voice in my head" on us
>>
>>35298089
"I feel betrayed" is fine. Even "I don't think I can bring myself to be friends with you anymore" might be justified. But "I am going to stubbornly keep a hold of this stick of dynamite that I was afraid would get lit even though its fuse is now lit by the very scenario I was worried about. Out of spite, just to show how super double-mad I am." is so, so silly.

I'm not really surprised that's how she reacted, just sort of disappointed with her.

It's all totally salvageable if we get to talk to her again in the near future once she's calmed down a bit, but that's still up in the air at the moment since she's pulled out the "AT LEAST THE EVIL VOICE IN MY HEAD LOVES ME" card, and flipping the switch back if it takes over only works if we can get one of the parties to consent to trading back control.
>>
>>35298137
She has had a series of people being assholes to her.
>>
Calm your tits, people.

Next time we see Theresa we'll explain in details how she's full of shit.

And if she wants to keep that damn book she can tell Charlotte herself.

archelon hasn't turned her into a supervillain yet so nothing is lost.

>>35298125
Hey, what was that with Anotheresa? Why was she her and what's her position on this?
>>
>>35298125
We can still salvage this friendship. It's not the first time a girl does something irrational.
>>
>>35298152
>archelon hasn't turned her into a supervillain yet so nothing is lost.

Did you miss the part where she had a swarm of rats eat a guy alive?

Not that I am complaining, I find sadism hot.
>>
>>35298125
Welp, I used all my humorous reaction gifs and charisma points to calm anons down after the HQR Jager Shadowrun culmination. So...good luck, good thread, and good night?
>>
>>35298172
I think he was talking about Theresa turning into a supervillain. but yah Charolette can be scary sometimes

You know we're still talking about Theresa, right? As in everything is still potentially fine because Theresa hasn't gone Green Goblin on us yet.
>>
>>35298187
My bad. I was thinking that he was saying that Charlotte wouldn't go super villain to hunt down Theresa.

Also "her" isn't very specific, especially in this quest.
>>
>>35298174
It's cool. If people actually feel like they need to cool off and switch gears from superpowered lesbian friendship troubles for a bit in order to wind down:

http://dynasty-scans.com/series/wife_and_wife

Totally regular cute girls doing cute girls doing cute things as calmly and fluffily as possible.

Should do the trick as well as anything.
>>
>>35298034
>Did you really not predict /tg/ would act this way?
I didn't expect a near-unanimous decision to tell Charlotte about Theresa's book right off the bat, no.

But seriously, I don't know why you weren't expecting her to be pissed when you told her that you gave away the fact that she had a book to Charlotte. Even ignoring everyting else, you outright gave up her deepest secret to the girl who you rejected her for.

>>35298152
>Hey, what was that with Anotheresa? Why was she her and what's her position on this?
She's mad that you picked Charlotte over her, and more mad that you told Charlotte about the book because she's afraid that you've just out her in danger. Among other things.

And now I sleep. Thanks for playing!

Well he deserved it, and if she hadn't used the rats they might have formed a union and gone on strike because they weren't being fed enough.

As the one who suggested that: I'll not be there for the beginning of the thread. I still would like that to happen, so if someone else can please suggest that, that would be nice. Even something silly like >>35298135 would be better than leaving Theresa alone with her head-voice.

>It's on now, ya little bitch

Alright, here's the bottom line. Those books are a national security risk. It doesn't matter how quiet Theresa is, how sneaky or careful or secluded she does things. Anyone who wants the book just has to put a bullet in her head while she sleeps, and then we have an entire organization who is all branch. 100 random branch users can take a military-occupied city if they do things right. If you cherry-pick your branches, 5-15 might be enough. Shit is bad, like that. And she wants to risk that happening over something as petty as sentiment.

It doesn't matter how careful or sentimental you are about it. It's a matter of hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of lives.

SO GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE YOU STUPID FUCKING BITCH
>>
>>35299214
Basically /tg/ is tired of Theresa's attitude and way of dealing with problems, which is to hide.

However, /tg/ still wants her around as she is +1 manpower and has good strategic value.
>>
>>35299214
Leaving aside the fact that Theresa is a stupid dyke
How does giving the book to an organization is any better?
>>
>>35300079
We have charlotte's word they'll be disposed of, or something similar. If nothing else, we can torch the books ourselves from range.
