You choose Sayaka to accompany you inside Lucius' Silent Room. While Yuma would certainly be able to shut down the Eversor if she ever tried anything - her performance during Haruka's seeing certainly proved that - you feel just a bit more comfortable with your Equerry watching your back rather than the Culexus.

This also eliminates you getting distracted by another one of Murderface's sudden raging tantrums. The last outburst stung more painfully than anything your body's thrown at you - in fact, it still hurt even now, a dull ache throbbing slowly in the back of your eyes.

Another one of those during a crucial moment might be everything Lucius would need to turn an interrogation into a murder.

Or a suicide.
>>
>>35299452

You voice your decision, and Yuma nods, taking Lucius' Soul Gem from a pocket somewhere in her hardsuit and offers it to you. If she was disappointed with your choice, she doesn't seem to show it - not that you could see her face through her visor, anyway.

"Understood, Warmaster." She says to you in a vox-corrupted murmur. "I'll be right here if you need me."

You nod in return, and just as you take Lucius' Soul Gem from her gloved hand - it's quickly replaced by a rather cute-looking character lunchbox, shaped after a pudgy green cat mascot.

"Your lunch." Sayaka withdraws her own gloved hand, her eyes still cold and narrowed at the stunned Culexus. "Kyoko made it for you. Again, not like you care." It's here that your Equerry turns to you and nods. "Come on, Murderface. Let's get this show on the road."

"...I do care," Yuma says again, her voice so low that even the vox speakers on her helmet is unable to rob it of emotion or warmth.

"Tell it to someone who gives a shit what you care about anymore, Culexus," Sayaka's reply could've been issued from an Anima Speculum for how cruel it sounded. "Now do your job, which you're lucky to have because everyone else who can is dead."

The Silent Room's door slams shut behind you as Sayaka ushers you across the treshold, removing any chance for the Culexus to reply. In front of you, at the end of a very short corridor, is another door - similar to the one you just passed by, but thicker. Obviously built to keep a more dangerous prisoner in.

[1/2]
>>
>>35299459

"Silent Rooms for Eversors are basically two rooms in one," Your Equerry says, seeing your confusion. "Just in case the first one fails for some reason. This one in particular," she emphasizes by tapping her booted heel on the floor, "...is the back-up."

...Huh. Well, that's handy. But shouldn't the first door be just as reinforced as the second one, in that sense?

"Not necessarily. Any Eversor can easily rip this thing off its hinges, sure," Sayaka points towards the door the both of you just entered through. "But the Silent Engine here is on a different setting than the one keeping Lucius nice and frosty in there." She gestures towards the inner door.

How different?

"Well, for one, the moment the room detects that the prisoner's made it to this particular room without proper authorization, it activates at full, focused intensity." Your Equerry offers you a dark grin. "Enough that the prisoner's soul gem melts in its casing."

...

"Overkill, I know, but that's how it's always been. And no one's been able to break out of one ever since we had these constructed." Sayaka steps past you, towards what looks like a touchpad set into the corridor wall. She holds up her own Soul Gem to it, the bauble in her hand a startlingly-clear and blindingly-bright blue. The touchpad glows in unison, before beeping.

"Focus the Silent Room's effects on the prisoner only, please. The Warmaster and I are coming in for interrogation." Sayaka says aloud, as if speaking to the device in front of her.

"Compliance," a speaker set beside the touchpad responds in a mechanical voice.

[2/3]
>>
>>35299481

"Well, here we are, then." Sayaka says as her Soul Gem manifests once more on her midriff. ...That always looked stupid to you, but you never thought of pointing it out. It's probably a sore point for your Equerry already. "Ready?"

How do you react?

[]Nod, and follow Sayaka inside. Time to get this interrogation started.
[]Are you naturally this much of a bitch, or did you have to work on it? Because you're starting to treat Yuma as if she answers to Murderface and has a drinking problem.
[]Ask Sayaka what she thinks about Lucius' trap, see if she has a plan of her own. It's important that the both of you know what to do before interrogating someone like Lucius, after all.

I actually wonder how other character would react if they learned of Yumas mindrape of Chiaki/"Braids". Especially if they also learned that it might have been partially responsible of all the shit that happened with Kharn and WN.

Would Sayaka be concerned that if Yuma can do it to one, she could do it to others. Actually at this point she might even care enough about Chiaki that the fact Chiaki was mindraped would upset her. Well, upset her a little bit atleast.

Will Kyoko be upset considering Chiaki is her friend too.

What would QB think about the fact that Yuma failed her duty and goes around mindraping people.

Would Wendy or Midori go berserk and try to kill Yuma.

Mami would probably belong to the group that says "Yuma did nothing wrong".

You nod. You're ready, but there's something you want to ask first. Namely, what does she think of Lucius calling you out like this, offering her help all of a sudden? You know it's a trap, but what does Sayaka think about it? ...And does she have a plan of her own going into this?

Sayaka blinks here, looking at you in silence for a moment before shrugging. "Personally? I think Lucius wants one last chance to see her mission through, Murderface. She's seen the endgame, and it's her rotting in her until we decide her execution date. She won't be looking to escape - for someone like her, someone without an actual Officio, she knows she'll be hunted wherever she goes the moment she sets foot outside our Headquarters. And it won't be just us, either, that'll be doing the hunting." It's here that your Eversor makes a face. "A lot of the other Incubators owe Kyuubey favors. Favors they'll jump at the chance to repay."

...So the other Officios will get involved?

"Likely as not. Kyuubey's gonna want to save those favors for something much more important, knowing him." Sayaka shrugs again. "But if he wants to, I don't see why not. And Lucius will have worse things than our own girls hunting her down."

Like what? You ask, unable to help yourself.

"The wolves, for one. Sixth Officio. Other crazies like her." Your Equerry taps her temple. "Batshit insane kinda people."

Huh. Well. That's something to know.

"And as far as a plan goes..." Sayaka shakes her head. "I'm following your lead this time, Murderface. Whatever you say goes, as much as that really sucks to say." She offers you a grin. "Warmaster rules and all that crap. But if I can just break my own rules and suggest something to a ratified, superior-ranking officer?"

Yeah? What's that?

Yeah? What's that?

"Carry out her execution here and now," Sayaka's grin fades, her expression growing serious. "Use your gun or have me do it, I don't care. Whatever she says, whatever intel she offers in exchange for whatever she wants you to do, give her the death she deserves, Murderface. Quick and clean. We can just wait for Mami's lead to solidify."

...That seems a bit extreme.

"You'd be doing her a favor, Murderface. Trust me on this." Sayaka reaches out to tap a finger on the touchpad - and the inner door begins its slow, grinding way up into the ceiling. Heavy gears and machinery clicking and creaking somewhere in the room at the effort. "Eversors are trained for direct assault and personnel destruction. We hate using deception and dirty tricks - we leave that to the other ranks. I'm sure Lucius hates herself for what she did back at the stadium, and she definitely despises herself for what she's doing now."

Still--

"You asked for my take on things, Murderface. That's it. You're free to take it or leave it, I don't care either way." With a brief flash of light, a sheathed blade appears at her waist - not the brutish, mass-produced brutality of Blueberry Cheesecake Brownie, but the weapon that came with her costume - an elegant sword with an ornate hand guard. "Whoever wears the hat wears the authority. And the responsibility."

...Not like that isn't true, you remark. But why does it sound bad when she says it?

"I have no fucking idea what you're talking about, Murderface." Sayaka replies, smiling as the doorway to Lucius' Silent Room is finally revealed. "No idea at all."

You shake your head, and follow her through. Into the Silent Room of the Eversor that had whored the lives of her squadmates and friends on a holy quest to kill you.

[2/3]
>>
>>35300173

Your first impression upon entering Lucius' Silent Room - at least, its inner chamber - is that there IS indeed a very striking difference to a Silent Room meant for Eversors, and those meant for other ranks. Instead of the thinly-cushioned gurney-bed that Midori had lain in, her limbs lashed down with leather straps, Lucius is instead chained to the farthest wall, thick links of solid black steel clamping down on her wrists and ankles.

Where the floor to Midori's Silent Room was tiled with ceramic and was clean enough for you to sit down, this one in particular is cold, gray steel, with grills cut into the floor edges - probably to drain water whenever the occupant is hosed down, or made to bleed.

Midori's Silent Room was a holding facility meant for inconvenient guests. Lucius' Silent Room, in contrast, is a prison.

The only similarity here that you can see is that Lucius is also wearing the same featureless white gown that you've seen Midori wear. The same gown that Haruka had also worn, during the seeing you asked her to do.

Well, no. That's not the only similarity.

Like Midori, Lucius too is unconscious. Hanging slack from her chains, her head bowed. Unmoving.

"Good, they hosed her down before we got here." Sayaka nods with satisfaction as the heavy metal door slams shut behind the both of you. "Could've at least gotten us some chairs or something, though."

...Yeah. Chairs would've been nice.

"Nothing for it, let's get this done." The Equerry nods towards the prisoner. "Go and wake Sleeping Beauty up, Warmaster. Or do you want me to do it for you?" She says, meaningfully cracking her knuckles.

You know how to do it, of course. All you need to do is to briefly touch your Soul Gem to Lucius' own, a brief transference of energy to jolt her awake.

You decide to wake Lucius up yourself. You've done this before, so it's not exactly like you're going at it blind.

Sayaka merely shakes her head at this. "Like I keep saying, Midori doesn't count. What a Callidus does after being forcibly taken out of Silent sleep is completely different from what an Eversor does in the same circumstances. Just because Midori woke up all giggly like a drunk prom date doesn't mean Lucius will."

Yeah? Well, what would an Eversor do, then, if Sayaka's this hell-bent on giving you a fucking primer on how Eversors are so fucking awesome and cool? You can't help but snipe at her here. You know your Equerry means well, but she's beginning to get on your nerves, what with them already being raw from Murderface's tantrums.

"..." Sayaka glances at the unconscious Lucius, then at you, before stepping forward and placing herself between you and the chained Eversor. "On the count of three, wake Lucius up. Watch carefully."

What? Can't she just tell you--

"Some things are better off being shown rather than being told," Sayaka says lightly as she turns to face Lucius, her caped back towards you. "Now, do as I say, Warmaster. Please."

...Fine. Whatever. Sure.

You sigh and hold your Soul Gem a few millimeters from Lucius' scarlet own. Careful to avoid the sharp spikes dotting the casing of the dark crystallization of your soul. You call out to your Equerry that you're ready.

"Alright." Sayaka nods, and you see her unsheathe her own sword. The glow of the harsh fluorescent lighting glinting on the impossibly-shiny blade. "Three. Two. One--"

The moment you carefully touch your Soul Gem to Lucius' - forcing a gasp from your lips as a chill slithers down your spine at the brief sensation of electricity - is when all hell breaks loose.

From placid, umoving unconsciousness, the chained Eversor explodes into a frothing berserker rage - one that has her springing forward in a killing lunge, fingers curled into claws, teeth bared in a snarling, roaring rictus. The movement is so sudden, so violent, that the momentum of it carrying not only a body that should be sluggish and uncooperative from soulless sleep but also the impossibly-heavy chains clamped around its wrists, its ankles, its neck.

Before she can complete her killing charge, however - and before you could draw a bead on her forehead, the Desert Eagle finding its way into your hand - what little slack that the chains restraining Lucius has quickly runs out, stopping the murder before it could even happen with a terrific crash of metal. This does not stop the enraged Magical Girl, however - and she roars a wordless cry as she strains to reach forward, the chains creaking and straining as they prevent Lucius from tearing Sayaka apart with her bare hands.

Your Equerry, despite being mere inches from the berserk Magical Girl, simply frowns - before turning to look at you.

"Training." Sayaka gestures to the snarling Lucius. "In some Officios, Eversors are trained to explode into a killing rage the moment they're forcibly woken up from Silent sleep."

...But what good does that do? You find yourself asking. Sure, an Eversor in this kind of state could kill her interrogators, but she'd still be in the headquarters of a rival Officio, and would probably be hunted down on the spot. So what's the use...?

The blue-haired Eversor smiles at you. "Well, that tells me you're not that fucked up yet, Murderface." She shakes her head. "Think about it for a moment. If you have an operative captured by a rival Officio, and they're waking her up in a Silent Room for interrogation - what is the last thing you want to happen?"

...

[2/3]
>>
>>35301191

"Right." Sayaka nods, taking your silence as realization. "She kills a few girls, but the main aim is to remove her as a liability. To remove the risk of her revealing your Officio's secrets." She turns back to the rabid Lucius, the chained Magical Girl still snarling wordless curses and oaths. "Funny thing is, Lucius probably didn't know about it. This kind of thing, you need a Culexus for. Subconscious training and all that."

So...this isn't the trap Lucius has planned for you?

"I'm guessing no, but we can always ask." Sayaka flashes you a momentary smile, before hauling forward - and then smashing the guard of her sword against Lucius' jaw. The impact loud enough to echo inside the otherwise echoproofed room.

Lucius falls slack on her chains again, momentarily knocked out, but to trauma rather than to a Silent Engine's anti-magic effects. She stirs a few moments later, spitting out what looks like a tooth and a mouthful of blood. The rage gone from her eyes, replaced by what looks like anger. A dull kind, weakened by weariness and resignation.

"Is this how the famous Ninth treats its esteemed guests?" Lucius says, her voice as calm and as refined as you heard it back then, during the stadium. Over the cheer of the rabid crowd. "I'll have to speak to your manager about this, Miki Sayaka."

"You're in luck." Your Equerry sheathes her sword, the blood still fresh on its dented hand guard. "She's here, just like you asked." And it's here that Sayaka steps aside to reveal you - and you see the anger in the prisoner's eyes flash briefly into hatred.

"Matsuda." Lucius says after a long period of silence, of the both of you simply staring at each other. "Or should I say, Warmaster Matsuda. Formally ratified as of last night, I believe?" She smiles, her teeth pinked with blood. "Congratulations. I'd curtsey, but I'm a bit tied up at the moment."

High. Yuma can hear loud surface thoughts without trying. And golden weapon spiritz have been described as talking into your own stream of consicousness.

Of course, she would probably interpret it as Chiaki herself having this reaction to her.

The latter, though it's barely a spoiler anymore.

By the way, most writeup series (all of them?) take place more or less in the past, and you can reasonably expect the Oficio/group status to be slightly different in the present time(though the changes would logically stem from what's written in the writeups).

You decide to try Yuma's suggestion. Holstering your Desert Eagle - ignoring how Lucius' eyes flashed at the sight of the golden handcannon - it's here that you pose the question that your own Culexus Rank Leader gave you to use.

"What do you want?"

And just like how Yuma predicted - this visibly catches the Eversor off guard, her eyes widening underneath her matted mop of stringy blonde hair. The self-assured smirk on her lips momentarily slackening into an 'o' of surprise, before quickly resuming its former shape.

"...I admit, I wasn't expecting that," Lucius shakes her head, her chains clinking together at the movement. "I was expecting something much less...considerate. Much less civil." She nods down at her own knees, bent underneath her as she slumps forward - letting the tension of her chains keep her upright. "I wasn't expecting to wake up to see my own kneecaps still unshot, at that."

"Keep blabbing like that, then you can look forward to being chained to a wheelchair." Sayaka spits. "Now answer the fucking question."

"There it is. The famous Ninth Officio temper." Lucius' smirk turns into a smile, as warm and as friendly as the crescent of a well-oiled blade. "And I was hoping that the culling of both the Betrayer and the Slayer from your ranks would have at least improved it some. Apparently, this isn't the case."

The Slayer? You blink at the title, turning to Sayaka. Your Equerry shakes her head in dismissal. "Kirika's title, or at least that's what the other Officios called her. She didn't like it, she thought it was...inelegant."

"An inelegant title for an inelegant murderer," The blonde Eversor replies. "But yes, I understand your impatience. Let me just gather my thoughts, please. Silent sleep isn't something I've been able to bounce back from right away."

A moment later, and Lucius looks up. The smile on her lips widening.

"A duel, Warmaster Matsuda. I challenge you to a duel."

[1/2]
>>
>>35302301

Now it's Sayaka who explodes, barging in from her corner of the room to snarl directly at Lucius' face. "STOP. FUCKING. AROUND, LUCIUS. You are challenging a fucking Warmaster to an honor duel. MY Warmaster." To her credit, the blonde Eversor doesn't flinch at all - simply meeting Sayaka glare for glare, as if the heavy metal links chaining her to the wall and floor of a Silent Room simply didn't exist. "Choose your words carefully before I fuck your head off."

"May I finish, please? I offer no insult. I know where I am." Lucius turns to you, and it's a moment before you gesture for Sayaka to allow her to continue. Your Equerry acquiesces, but only begrudgingly, growling underneath her breath.

"My thanks, Warmaster Matsuda." Lucius smiles gratefully. "As I was saying - I challenge you to a duel. With blades, not with those brutish things that you thwarted my efforts with. Whatever arena, I cannot care less - I just ask that it take place in the full view of your own Officio. You win, I lead you to the Prophet personally, with my life in your hands, to do with whatever you wish."

"And if you win?" Sayaka asks for you, her arms crossed under her breasts, a sure sign that she's trying to reign in the impulse to be murderously violent. "What happens then?"

"Then I die, but with my mission completed." Lucius nods to your Equerry. "You of all people should understand where I'm coming from, Miki Sayaka. We finish the job we're given or we don't come back at all. I'm simply allowing your Warmaster a chance to get what she needs instead of simply having me executed."

>>35302322

Another smile, and you can't help but feel that this one seems more sincere than the rest she'd been flashing. "If it makes you feel any better, this is far from my being altruistic for some reason or other. I also wish to carve some honor out of this - to fight one last swordfight before finally leaving this mortal coil. Execution is the worst fate for an Eversor, after all. Dying without a weapon in her hands..." She clicks her tongue in slow disapproval. "A shameful end. A lamentable death."

Sayaka scoffs here. "Then you'd better start with the prayers, because there's no way in hell she's going to fall for that." Your Equerry turns to you. "Right, Murderface? ...Murderface?"

How do you react?

[]Accept. If it's a duel she wants, she's got it.
[]Refuse. She's planning something, and you're not going to fall for it. Threaten her with execution instead.

This is stupid. She doesn't even know where Oriko is because of the threat of being captured and then having someone like Yuma finding out.
>>
>>35302375

I'll add that I feel this option is better than outright refusing because we keep her talking and make her desperate. Simply accepting is the most foolish thing we could do. However, simply refusing is also bad because we don't get to hear anymore from her.

I'd rather see if she lets something slip while we keep her talking and keep our cards to ourselves a little longer.

You narrow your eyes at the smiling Eversor, finding yourself wanting to cross your own arms over your chest, in unconscious imitation of Sayaka's frustrated body language. You immediately light a cigarette instead, your first breath upon ignition burning the stick halfway down to its filter. You blow the smoke away from Lucius, but immediately wish that you'd blown it into her face the moment you see her nose crinkle.

"Smoking. A filthy habit." Lucius shakes her head. "Well, Warmaster Matsuda? What do you say?"

You glare at her for a moment longer, before shaking your head. You have other leads, you tell her. What makes her so sure that you'd accept her challenge?

Her answer is a laugh - a pretty laugh, one that you should be hearing from a dignified woman of class in a beautiful dress, instead of a defeated young woman shackled in chains, with only a dingy white medical gown protecting her modesty. "I must respectfully disagree, Warmaster Matsuda - you have no leads. Not a single one."

She shakes her head. "If I'm guessing correctly, you mean my colleagues, yes? My squadmates, the ones you've stopped from carrying out their appointed tasks? Kana, even?" Another laugh, this one much shorter, much harsher than the first. "They know nothing, Warmaster. Interrogate them, torture them, seduce them to your side, rip out the truth from their minds - whatever you find will not lead you to the Prophet."

And she does? You step forward, wanting more than ever to put your cigarette out on one of her eyes, just to stop her from smirking.

"I brought the staff to Oriko." Lucius's smile is terrible now. "For a time, I was Ahriman's will made manifest, until we found her true successor. I alone know how to find the Prophet, I alone know the path back to her fastness."

[1/2]
>>
>>35303397
didn't see that change happen, odd. I usually try to keep things neutral.
>>
>>35303486

Another moment, and the Eversor's smile turns kindly. "Let's not spend time posturing or trying to outwit one another, Warmaster Matsuda. I have little in the way of wiles. I am no trickster or manipulator - I am a warrior, first and foremost. I deal with reality with a blade in my hand. I am the only lead you have that will lead you to Oriko. Kill me now, and the killings and the burnings will continue. Give me what I want, and you have a chance to end the madness before the Prophet decides to burn this city along with you."

You glare down at Lucius, before shaking your head. What she's saying...you don't want to even acknowledge it, but she makes sense. In a twisted way, she does.

"You're not actually considering it, are you?" Sayaka asks you incredulously, her eyes wide. "Murderface, this is a trap. She wants to kill you. I--"

"I don't think I've ever said anything to the contrary, Miki Sayaka." Lucius calls out to your Equerry. "Yes, I want your Warmaster dead. I want to see her corpse cooling by my feet, with her Soul Gem ground to powder underneath my boot's heel--"

"..." Sayaka wordlessly but violently gesticulates with both hands towards the chained Eversor's direction, as if trying to make her point even further.

"--but the difference is, I wish to do it with my own two hands. With my own sword. In mortal combat, in an audience of my peers." Lucius nods towards you. "Without guile, without the cloak concealing my blade. Without deception. I wish to fight you, Warmaster, and kill you before dying myself. I want the last chapter of my life to be spent fighting a fight that actually matters."

...You shake your head again. Something doesn't fit, here. Supposing if you accept - what's stopping her from escaping?

[2/3]
>>
>>35303421
To be fair, though, Chiaki has proven herself to be... not-so-bright... time and time again.

Remember the time we actually had a vote about who would be the one to burn/destroy that massively unimportant letter?
Instead of, say, whipping out a lighter and burning it on the spot?
Or just giving it back to Yuma, as would make sense?

>>

"Where would I run to?" Lucius looks surprised, shocked even. "Back to Oriko? With her knowing that I've failed catastrophically in my own duties? Or that I've spent much too long already as a prisoner in the Officio she so despises?" She shakes her head. "I would be hunted every day, every hour, every waking moment of my life, Warmaster Matsuda. And that is no way to live."

She laughs again. "And how would I escape, with your entire Officio watching us? Even if I win by slaying you, my death is assured, if not by Miki Sayaka here then the many others under your command. I am sure they would be just as eager to punish my cowardice as much as they would your murder by my hand, Warmaster Matsuda."

...

"I realize it's a difficult decision to make." Lucius suddenly says, breaking the awkward silence between you. No smile graces her lips this time - instead, she looks almost apologetic. "But those are my terms, Warmaster, and I have to stand by them. If you truly cannot find it in yourself to accept, then have me executed instead. That should be a much easier and much cleaner way of solving things, yes?" She rattles her chains here. "I wish you luck with the Prophet then. Perhaps, when she's killed enough and burned enough, she may let you find her."

How do you respond?

No. It'd give Kirika both the power and the vehicle to save Oriko alone and to kill us in the process.
>>

But then Heather couldn't get cyberarms
>>
>>35303872
Honestly I'm starting to this the GW won't even matter and some dumb bullshit will just show up to rush us to an ending.
>>
>>35303857
We actually promised to try and take Oriko alive because she is just a puppet of Ahriman.

Learning from Lucius that this is true and that Oriko actually IS a puppet of Ahriman would make her more likely to believe us.
>>
>>35303873
Pinky is neither immovable nor unstoppable.

She's just infinitely cute.
>>
How did Lucius know about the burning?

This worries me greatly.
>>
SO who's willing to bet she just kills herself with a hidden cyanide pill when Yuma comes in?

Alright, that's enough for this thread! Most voted action to start off the next one! We may be continuing on Monday night, if not, thread to continue next Friday!

Thank you for your participation, feedback is always welcome!

No writeups for today, unfortunately, so questions answered before I go to bed, I guess!

Will the plot progress soon or will there be more dumb shit to stop us going anywhere?
>>
>>35303894
Only if we were so utterly stupid that we would let Lucius run free with Kirika.

What I am suggesting is that we lock her up even tigher, so tight that even powered by GW, she cannot escape.

Then leave the GW touching her for a couple of days. Then remove GW, contact Kirika, point out that we told her the truth about Ahriman and ask where Oriko/Ahriman is.
>>

That wouldn't work due to soul gem.

Say Decu, or Archival, if Odette's as flat as a board, does she at least have the hips and legs to make up for it?

Also, all these people run by some warrior code. Duels are commonplace, adn a typical way of resolving disputes.
Little did they know Vindicares have no obligation to accept challenges. Vindicares are not warriors, they are assassins.

>>

>>
>>35304630

>>
>>35304678
... have any of Oriko's plans actually worked out so far?
I mean, fire-bombing a church isn't so much a plan as it is... well, a fire-bombing.
>>
>>35304686>>35304703

Well if she didn't know about that how were suppost to learn about it and get there just late enough that
>Chiaki was suppose to arrive just in time to make a choice.
this happens?

>>35304706
So is she just a prophet of plot convenience then?
>>
>>35304706
Maybe getting caught was part of her plan.
>>
>>35304479

No, I did not! I originally planned for her to be a Callidus in disguise, one that was thwarted by Chiaki's unexpected use of time stop.

>>35304604

I apologize, I realize there are a lot of issues with my pacing and writing, and I'm trying to address them as best I can.
>>
>>35304732
>Chiaki's unexpected use of time stop.
How she is literally famous for having a perfect timestop.
>>
>>35304724
Phonecall by Callidus? Pretending to be Misaka calling for help? Wait until Chiaki arrives with everything ready?
>>
>>35304774
So they make the phone call after the building had burnt to the ground and exploded?
>>
>>35304749

This is actually on my end. When I first wrote Haruka, I wrote it that she cannot view Chiaki perfectly, there are gaps where she loses track of Chiaki. Decu's running with the same for Oriko, or anyone who tries to predict what Chiaki will do (who knows what the heck the readers will decide, right?)

Prognosticators basically see Chiaki as a blur. They have some idea of what she might do, but she doesn't always follow the script.

Now, and this part is speculation on my end, that squad that was sent to kill Misaka were probably working on the assumption that they had enough time based on a prediction from Oriko. It could have been right, or it could have been wrong (depending on anon's choices). In this case, it was wrong.
>>
>>35304749

Hahaha, sorry! I also want to add, they didn't quite expect Chiaki to be working with Wendy as well. That was what I meant by the unexpected use of time stop - in that it was used in conjunction with a very fast vehicle, i.e. the Schpeltiger. Oriko would have taken into consideration Chiaki's time stop, definitely, but not with that kind of assistance! It allowed them to use the Time Stop that much effectively!
>>
>>35304828
But shouldn't Aharim(spelt that wong) already know about her time stop it's the whole reason Chiaki met her in the first place.

>>35304835
But didn't you mention at one point that Chiaki has stopped time for days on her end?
How could Oriko know it was limited now but not plan for her using it to get there faster than planned?
>>
>>35304885
>But didn't you mention at one point that Chiaki has stopped time for days on her end?
That was before Pinky started haunting our timestop.
>>
>>35304885

Because of Pinky! She does have the Golden Staff, and I've also confirmed that Ahriman speaks to her. She knows about how Pinky is plaguing Chiaki and crippling her Time Stop.
>>
>>35304931
It still seems iffy what with how much Girl A must have used timestop as a crutch.

I've been following this quest for a year and a half now and it the whole prophet thing has been going on for far to long without any tangible progress. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on the being a Callidus but it was a poor decision to make i the first place.
>>
>>35305003
To add on this has been going for almost half the quest know and there has been almost no progress on it.
>>
>>35305034
>were usually under a minute,
\But there should be no way to tell that form the outside or if it was intentional or not.
>>
>>35305003

I understand. I also want things to move on beyond the Prophet arc, and I'll do my best to have us moving at a much faster clip with the succeeding threads. Thank you for staying with me for so long, it really means a lot.
>>
>>35305059
Well I just hope it's the very next thing for us to handle. It's dragged on far too long as is.
>>
>>35305055
>\But there should be no way to tell that form the outside
Basically, it could be estimated by how much the situation changed - how many people died, how far Chiaki moved, etc.
>or if it was intentional or not.
Yeah, you got a point there.
>>
>>35305159
But then you have to take into account how messed up Girl A was in the head- did she toy with 'em while they were frozen in time, or did she just get them over with?
Was she leisurely about it, or did she hustle?
>>
>>35305192
From the video in Kharm quest it seems like she was also pretty fast wounding and unpausing time to watch the reactions.

Though it must be pretty clear she's been crippled by using it as a crutch. With how Chiaki get's her shit kicked in when she can't use it and all.
