>sugar isn't bad for you, it just wants to be as close to your heart as possible!

"So... just to make sure we're on the same page here, I am supposed to get on that boat and somehow make it across the Pacific?"

The gruff, hairy, and quite simply very large man before you grunts in affirmation. He is the very embodiment of a sailor, experience and confidence radiating from his body. He is the exact kind of man you'd trust to safely traverse the seas. It's a shame he has no intentions of doing so today.

"And the crew?"

"Already aboard." He tilts his head to lock to give you a cold stare. "You're almost an hour late, missy."

Ahah, that's right, you had a little trouble getting Andrea to let you leave. Kept insisting she had something important to say but then she just stared at you and didn't say a thing. Probably just trying to stop you from going on this job because it's dangerous. Always such a worrier!

The seaman calmly begins to walk away. "You've wasted enough time. You should get going."

The ship before you is easily one of the smallest you've seen, not that you've seen many. But perhaps that's a good thing, you wouldn't know what to do with a proper ship anyway. At least it isn't powered by sails as far as you can tell.

You are the Loli Talker, aka Nee-chan, a specialist dealing in bringing unreasonable lolis to reason. Though this time you've landed a very peculiar job. Your objective is to guide this ship across the Pacific from the United States to Japan aided only by a tiny crew of equally small girls. Obviously you wouldn't have accepted such a crazy job under normal circumstances but the client, some rich kid with more money than he knows what to do with, is paying exceptionally well.

Now abandoned by the only person in the immediate vicinity who actually knows anything about sailing you stand alone on the docks. But it'll be okay! They wouldn't call it the Pacific if it wasn't a nice place, right? You should probably go find your crew. The man said they're already aboard.

You should probably start looking on the deck. If they're waiting for you, they'd logically be there instead of hiding who knows where. Not that logic applies very often nowadays, but you have to start somewhere.

The bright wooden deck under you glistens slightly in the light of the sun. At least the weather is good today instead of some storm or hurricane. Though you'll probably find a way to goof everything soon. As you make your way to the front of the ship, which probably has a nautical term you'd use if you knew the first thing about ships, a girl's voice calls out behind you.

"Captain! Captain!"

The young girl running up to you gives you her best salute, apparently trying to be as formal as possible.

"You're the captain, right? Uh, Nee-chan? We've been waiting for you so we could leave!"

Oh good, not even a minute and already someone else is giving you flak for being late. Despite her formal approach, the girl seems to have forgotten to introduce herself. "And you would be?"

"Ah, very sorry Miss Captain Nee-chan! My name is Nadine, I'm the navigator!"

Fantastic, you don't know anything about that. Hopefully she's not just pretending to! "And the rest of the crew, Nadine?"

She looks about her, apparently only now remembering that detail. "Uh, the others... There's Camilla, I think she's in the back by the engine. And May is probably on the bridge if she's not here? Which she isn't! So she must be there!"

So that's your crew. Three girls. Joy. You should probably go find the others.

The engine's important. You should probably go pretend to make sure everything there is working. Nadine said that's in the back, so you get to save face by actually knowing where to go this time.

Contrary to your initial expectations, the engine room isn't a dark and cramped room full of smoke at the bottom of the ship. Well, aside from the cramped part, that's still true. Levers, buttons, gauges, meters, pipes, tubes, and various other gizmos you don't know the significance of are cluttered about the room in no apparent pattern. Amidst the chaos, a young girl crawls about pulling levers and pushing buttons in what you sincerely hope IS a pattern.

You loudly clear your throat, finally catching her attention. She turns to you.

"Oh hey, you the captain-girl? Took you long enough to get here! I'm Camilla, the one who makes everything work. So don't forget how important I am!"

Seems you found Nadine's nemesis, this girl is anything but formal. Hopefully her confidence is actually backed by competence and she actually does make this thing work despite the apparent chaos. You've half a mind to go in there and show her why you're in charge, but in this mess she'd probably escape you.

So that's two thirds of your crew. Is there anything you should say to Camilla before finding the last?

You can't help feeling a little concerned for your own safety. You have to ask some of the critical questions. "Hey, where did you learn all this stuff?"

She grins. "Oh it's easy, you just pull the levers and push the buttons until bad things stop happening and good things start happening!"

Even as she crawls out of your sight, you shout out your next question. "Right... but where did you learn which are the right ones?"

You hear her laughing from inside the room. "Right here of course! I told you, you just pull the levers and push the buttons and see what happens!"

Somehow these questions are only making you more worried. Being the idiot you know yourself to be, you ask another. "So how long have you been sailing?"

"Are you kidding? I've never done this before. The others too! Who seriously would let a bunch of girls sail a ship? It's stupid!"

Yep, you're an idiot. Time to stop asking questions before this girl says anything even worse. Maybe this May girl will make you feel better.

You only just make it out of the engine room before almost stumbling over the last member of your crew, apparently having resigned herself to swabbing the deck. Seems Nadine has already given you bad info, she's not on the bridge at all!

"Ahh! Sorry Miss! Didn't see you at all!"

With your confidence currently drowning you feel the need to enforce your authority. "That's Captain Nee-chan to you. And you must be May. What do you do on this ship, May?"

In half panic she gives you something resembling a salute. "S-sorry, Captain Nee-chan! I didn't know! Uhm, right, I'm May. I uh, I do... all kinds of stuff! Anything that the others aren't doing! Like this! Or cooking! And stuff!"

Sounds like she's letting herself get pushed around a bit by the others. But that's your job now, right? So with all the crew introduced, you should probably get ready to set off.

This girl is so meek. You've been around children enough to know what that means. "The others aren't bullying you into doing their work, are they?"

She shakes her head wildly. "N-no Captain! N-nothing like that! Everyone is being good! No bullies, we're all friends here! It's just my job to do these things!"

Looks like she's not going to rat anyone out. "Well, do you enjoy doing those things?"

She thinks for a moment, careful what to answer this time. "Sure. Someone has to do it and I don't know how to read maps or fix engines or anything. We're going on an adventure and that's going to be fun! So I'm happy! But when do we start the adventure, Captain Nee-chan?"

Well, good question. You're probably ready, and if you're not you wouldn't know! "Now. Go get everyone out here for me, would you?"

"Yes, Captain Nee-chan! Right away Captain Nee-chan!"

Less than a minute later, you've ordered your crew to set off and they've scattered across the ship, hopefully doing something right. Camilla returned to the engine room, May is fiddling with some ropes you hadn't noticed before tying the ship to the dock, and Nadine is on the bridge. You should probably be there too?

On the bridge, you find Nadine stood before the wheel on a small stool seemingly maneuvering the ship out of the dock with relative ease. Watching her, a thought of utmost importance pops into your head. "Hey, don't I get a captain's hat?"

Great, bet you'll have a fun time trying to get that back. Maybe it's not important for now. "So, what kind of dangers are you expecting?"

Her voice rises, taking on an air of excitement. "Oh, all kinds of things! Storms, getting lost, pirates, sea monsters, mutiny, drowning, starving, all that stuff!"

Wait. Getting lost? You don't even know the way and you've barely left! Maybe you should consult her about your course?

This is important! If you don't know where you're going you could end up anywhere! "Nadine, you're the navigator. Shouldn't you be plotting our course?"

"Ah, don't worry!" She jumps off her stool and rushes to a table at the back, shuffling about some papers. You only just manage to run over and grab the wheel before you would have crashed into the docks!

"I already did that. It was somewhere around here... there it is!" She grabs a piece of paper, runs up to you holding the paper up in front for you to see.

Oh god, what have you gotten yourself into. This can't possibly be right. "Say Nadine, did you draw this map yourself?"

She nods excitedly. "Yeah! No cheating by using library maps, made it myself!"

She seems to regard this as a good thing. "Well, did you at least check this with some other maps?"

"Of course! But the library maps were missing some of these islands so I added them myself!"

But that's not how it works at all! "How... how do you know these are real?"

"Because they're on the map!"

"Only on your map."

She pouts. "Well the other maps are wrong! They're real, you'll see! You just have to believe!"

This isn't going anywhere. "Did you at least bring some other maps too?"

She hesitates, her eyes beginning to glisten with tears. "But I'm the navigator! That means I know the way and my map is right! Don't you trust me, Captian Nee-chan?"

This is tricky. She really believes in her map and she'd be really hurt if you told her otherwise. But you're not the Loli Talker for nothing! Taking a hand from the wheel, you gently ruffle her hair.

"Of course I trust you, honey. But what if there's a storm and you lose your map? You need back-ups, and I couldn't ask you to spend the time to re-draw that one multiple times."

Her face takes an expression of shock. "I didn't think of that! I should put this one somewhere super-safe because it's the best map! I'll put the others on the table here, okay?"

That'll have to do for a compromise. Having made your way out of the harbor there's nothing before you except open sea now. Finding an instrument that you assume is a compass you make sure you're headed west. Nadine can probably take it from here. You're going the right way, so you probably don't need to do anything except wait.

Oh right, you still don't have a hat.

>>
>>35306074
Last you saw, May was loosening the ropes tying the ship to the dock. It's probably fair to assume she's not doing that any longer. You should really go find out what she's doing, a captain should know what's going on around her ship, after all. Even if you're still missing your hat.

Taking a tour of the deck you already feel the unfamiliar sensation of the sea breeze around you. You've never actually been to sea before, unless you count being cooped up in an airplane above the sea. The air is different in a way you can't quite place. It doesn't smell of fish as you expected, it's something else. More fresh. You settle on simply describing it as the smell of the sea.

Putting your conundrum aside and having not located any Mays on the deck you head under the deck to look for her. There's not that much here, a room to one side with 4 bunk beds - you make a note that you're only going to be using half of those - and to the other side a small kitchen and a large door leading to what appears to be the stores. May is inside, holding a block of paper.

You call out to her to ask what she's doing, and she jumps on the spot, turning and backing away slightly before realizing that it's you. "O-oh, I'm just making sure everything is here and nothing is stolen!"

Well that's good. Totally sounds like something someone should be doing. "And is it?"

She responds more calmly now, assured. "Yes, Captain Nee-chan, everything is where it should be!" Looking about, the room is full of sealed cans and boxes with various labels. Food, fuel, that kind of stuff. Good things to have, definitely.

The time has come. Your teachers thought you'd never amount to anything but now you're captain of your very own ship. Well it doesn't actually belong to you, but you're definitely the captain. Time to claim the hat that proves it! You know your enemy, the target it locked. Camilla will surrender the prize, whatever it may take.

Making a beeline for the engine room, you kick in the door - unsuccessfully, these doors are massive. Ow! Swallowing down the pain, you subtly open the door just a little bit before giving it another kick. You're so cool!

On the other side, Camilla turns casually to face you. You lock eyes. A hint of fear crosses her face. You make your demand. "Surrender the hat." She bolts, making an escape deeper into the engine maze.

What is your strategy?

Her smaller size is an advantage, she can get through the narrow spaces much more easily than you. Your best chance is probably to be smarter, that at least you're confident you can do. Getting down on all four you quietly slip in among the machinery.

Now that the ship is actually in motion the engine room is far more noisy. The loud, constant thumping fills the room, drowning out almost all other noises. There's no way she'll be able to hear you coming but at the same time you can't hear her either. You'll just have to guess where she is. Last you saw she was to your left, so if you proceed just a few paces forward then wait here... There!

You quickly snatch the hat off of her head and back out of the mess of parts into the open space. You expected her to protest, but she still seems to be in there. Maybe she hasn't even noticed you already won?

Oh well, who cares. You now have a fancy hat!

This hat is a symbol. Power, authority, confidence, that's what it's made of. And what's the point of power if you can't rub it in someone's face. You've certainly got time for THAT, so you decide to wait a few more moments for Camilla to come out. When she does, she is not happy. Too bad for her!

You wink at her. "Thanks for keeping my hat warm for me, sweetie!"

She rolls her eyes. "Whatever, tyrant. Enjoy the power trip while it lasts."

Wow, what a buzzkill. This girl really has authority issues. A voice in the back of your head wants to call you a hypocrite but the engine drowns the sound. Or maybe it's the hat. It's a pretty sweet hat. What were you doing, again?

Oh right, being the captain! Is there any more captain stuff you should be doing though? Maybe it's time to just lean back and prepare for the multitude of disasters that Nadine warned you about.

Roll D100 for staying on course, good fortune, fate, and weather.

Settling into a chair not quite worthy of a captain as glorious as you on the bridge, you prepare to doze off as Nadine stays on the wheel for you. Captain's privilege, right? Just as you're about to slip into the sweet embrace of sleep however, Nadine calls out in excitement.

"Captain Nee-chan! Come see this!"

Grabbing a pair of binoculars handed to you by Nadine you take a look where she's pointing and see... An island with a large sign reading 'Easter Egg Island'. Who would put a large sign like that on a small island? Woah hold on, that's real?

"See, I told you it's a real place!"

This is weird. You shouldn't be seeing this but it's definitely there. You note one other thing as well. "It's not where you said it would be."

"Huh?" Nadine rushes off to consult her map, mumbling to herself over the problem. Finally she lets out an aha, then holds the map up again for you to see. "I fixed it!"

"We should stop here, Captain!"

She wants to stop? But this isn't your destination, it's just some useless island. "Why?"

She's practically jumping with excitement. "Because it's Easter Egg Island! Easter eggs are good! Chocolate-y! Sweet! Colorful! So it must be a good place! Don't you want to see it, Captain?"

Do you?

You're feeling adventurous, why not check out the island. Why would they put up a huge sign if it wasn't a legit place? As you near the island Nadine gazes over the intrument board before her, slam both her hands down pushing multiple buttons at once, and a few moments later you're stopped in place. Amazing stuff.

You send Nadine out to gather the girls and a few moments later they've prepared a small boat to carry you the rest of the way unto the island when Nadine speaks up.

"Someone should stay here and watch the ship."

Camilla quickly responds. "May can do that." Nadine nods in agreement as disappointment washes over May's face. Looks like she was really excited for this. But it's your call, you're the captain!

That's not really fair, ganging up on May like that. You have just the way to this fairly, though!

"You play for it! Rock paper scissors, the loser stays!"

Camilla sends you a glare. "And you, 'captain'?"

Nadine quickly responds before you can say anything. "Don't question the captain!"

Camilla sighs in resignation. "Fine, whatever, let's play"

Camilla and Nadine is up first. Nadine is... not good at this. You can easily tell by her hand what she'll call, scissors. Camilla can tell too, a confident smile on her face. She calls rock. That means Nadine has to beat May or she's out.

Just as before, you can easily tell her move. She's going for paper this time. May seems less confident, probably not as good at reading body language as Camilla is. Nevertheless, she makes the right call and throws scissors. Nadine is staying!

May cheers in excitement as the three of you gets into the boat, Camilla rolling her eyes at the display. Nadine seems content, satisfied that at least the game was fair.

Landing on the beach of the island, you step out onto the soft sands. Further inland, you see a tightly packed forest - or jungle, you're not sure what the difference is - of trees you don't quite recognize. You could proceed further in to investigate, or you could proceed along the beach to see if you find anything interesting there. You can see the large sign that led you here down the beach on your right.

May is already making a beeline for the forest as you yank her collar and turn her around. Looking at you in confusion, you nod towards the sign down the beach. "We're going that way first." For once Camilla has no objections to your command.

The sign covers an entire side of the island, clearly meant to attract visitors from far away. But for what purpose, there doesn't seem to be anyone even living here? Camilla seems to be thinking the same, a look of worry paiting her face even as May skips cheerfully about you.

As you arrive before the nearest post holding up the sign, an almost irresistibly sweet scent washes over you. It's coming from the forest. Turning, you see a girl about your age - though packing quite a bit more up top than you - dressed in, well, almost nothing! She waves to you, seemingly very happy to see you.

May gasps in awe. "She's so pretty! Let's go talk to her!"

Well, she looks harmless. She could hardly conceal anything with what she's wearing. She really is pretty, though. In a really familiar way. She reminds you so much of Andrea. But not quite the same, something's different. She greets you with a cheer in her voice.

"Welcome to my island, dear visitors! I hope you enjoy the stay as much as I enjoy your presence!" Her voice, it's so familiar too. Why is that?

She leads your group back closer to the forest she came out of, gives one of the trees a gentle kick and a large chocolate egg lands in her hands and she hands it to you. "You enjoy chocolate, do you not?"

It's not polite to refuse a gift! Still, this is really strange. As you take the egg out of her hand, you think out loud. "What is this island? It's not on any maps, so why is it here? And why do you live here?"

She tilts her head to the side, wide smile on her face. "Not many visitors come here, so I suppose that's why the island is not your map? Or maybe the ones who do visit just never tell anyone about it. Because they want to keep the secret to themselves!"

She didn't quite answer you. "And you live here? Alone? How long have you lived here?"

A slight frown forms on her face as she looks away. "Yes, it is very lonely living here. That's why I'm so happy to have visitors!" She glances down to the egg in your hands. "Please, enjoy it. There's plenty more."

May pipes up. "Captain, share with the rest of us! I want chocolate too!"

The girl before you giggles at the remark, then smiles at you again. "Please, eat."

Sharing with the girls!

The smell is sweet. You're not sure if it's her scent or the scent of the chocolate but you can't resist it. You break off a piece of chocolate to give May. She quickly shoves the entire thing in her mouth, her eyes rolling back as she moans in delight, slowly savoring the taste. You definitely want some of this too!

But first you break off a piece for Camilla too. It's only fair after all. She shakes her head, though. "Not hungry." Not hungry for chocolate? Oh well, her loss! You pop the piece in your mouth.

The taste is overwhelming. This isn't just chocolate, it tastes of... of everything! Strawberries, mint, nougat, and so many more tastes wash through you each in turn. You've never tasted anything like this, it's amazing! You close your eyes in an attempt to shut out your other sense and devote your entire being to the chocolate.

When you open your eyes you find you've sat down by one of the trees. May is asleep with her head in your lap. Camilla is saying something to you, but you don't hear anything. There's only chocolate. You never quite got that nap you wanted. You close your eyes.

You're in an empty street. Across the street from you is a large candy store. Behind you, a toy store. Further down the street to your left is a large pink castle, to the right the street continues in a similar fashion. The smell of strawberry is heavy in the air. Above you a bright pink heart shines down on the land. This isn't your world.

From the left a voice calls out. It's HER. Not the girl from the island, not the girl from anywhere you know. But you know who she is anyway. She's running toward you. "Nee-chan, you finally came to play!" She jumps to embrace you, but passes right through you. She lets out a disappointed "oh."

"You're dreaming aren't you? I thought you had finally come. What a waste of time! You should wake up now so you can come and play with me sonner!"

You wake.

I've just been lurking and noticed those red flags, but when people started going for it anyway I was curious as to what you'd do to everyone. I tend to watch/play in lethal quests so I was expecting something nasty. Yet you persist with cute girls doing cute things.

I think I'll start playing, this could be a refreshing change of pace for me. To just pick the most fun sounding options instead of being paranoid trying to spot the traps.

I made a promise when creating this that it'll be cute and dumb, nothing more. I can guarantee that I'll stick to that. It's not saying that something bad can't happen (you essentially just got yourself drugged!) or that there isn't some kind of plot but if I can't also make it cute then it doesn't belong here.

Not that I wouldn't LOVE to run something slightly more serious, but it's not within the scope of this particular quest and I would only do harm by changing it now is how I see it.

Such is usually my own taste. I relish in the dark, the high risk where but the slightest fuck up will cost you everything yet if you play it all well and get just a bit lucky, ye shall gain everything you could have hoped to gain.

Yet I still got a soft spot for the happy worlds despite my own affinity for worlds filled with despair and darkness. Keep it up man, I like this happy stuff just as much as I love worlds of darkness. And yeah, WoD is kinda my thing in most all regards. LOVE that setting.
