@QMKingofHearts.

Today is December 13th, UC 0083. You are Dominic O'Hara, a Commander in the Titans anti-terror organization and squadron leader for the mobile weapon forces aboard the SCV-82 Valkyrie, and you've just decided on what your next mission will be: a government-sanctioned casino heist in Side 4.

“Oh my GOD this is so cool!” Reiko practically squeals in enthusiasm as your fellow officers gather on the bridge to review the data Titans has sent you. “We're pulling a casino job AND our ship has an AI!? BEST. DAY. EVER!”

On screen, ALICE shifts her nonexistent weight idly from side to side. “I trust this is an acceptable development, Commander O'Hara?” she asks in that same lyrical voice she's taken on. You can't be too sure, but it sounds to you at least that she's looking for approval: almost like a daughter addressing her father, but a little stiffer.

Looking her over, you see nothing offensive or alarming: her 'assets' are quite modest, and her long hair is a rather fetching rusty orangish-red. which seems to glow warmly. If she had a physical body, you'd probably go so far as to describe her as cute. The pleated skirt, tight-fitting thigh boots, vest, and palmless elbow gloves are a little too pop-idol-ish for your tastes, perhaps, but there's nothing outright vulgar about them.

You nod. “Sure. If you like it, it's fine with me... but how'd you manage this so quickly?”
(1/2)
>>
>>35305895
“I based my own appearance off of extant three-dimensional models and voice files,” ALICE explains with a cheerful tone juxtaposed against her almost mechanical precision. “Pursuant to the goal of establishing a sense of individuality and uniqueness, I made a few modifications in line with early 21st Century virtual idols, including hair style, physical proportions, and outfit. The difficulty was in teaching myself Japanese so that I could read the instructions for the program.”

“You learned Japanese?” Miyu asks incredulously. “In less than three days?”

“Fluency was attained in four point seven hours, to be precise. I am what you might call a quick study.”

After Miyu stares at her for a few long, hard seconds, ALICE comes clean. “That was intended as a joke.”

Finally the last of your missing officers, Haman, makes it to the bridge. “So, I hear we're taking a trip to New Manhattan? Are we going to rescue my sister and miss Mineva?”
>We'll see to that first, make a clean getaway after the heist.
>We'll handle it after the heist: business comes first.
>We'll pull off both ops simultaneously. Saves time.

>We'll see to that first, make a clean getaway after the heist.
Sure. Putting an orphan into the ship seems like a trend in most UC Gundam series.

It's a requirement.

>>
>>35305915
Wait. Did ALICE model herself after Vocaloids? Oh god.

>We'll see to that first, make a clean getaway after the heist.
We can contact them while scoping out the area. We're on a limited time frame, but we should be able to spare it given that Natalie, Serrana and Mineva aren't in any immediate danger. Should limit the complications involved in retrieving them.
>>
>>35305915
"Yes, yes we are. Only if Ocho has not moved them. Which we should consider a possibility. I'll ask my good friend Freddie if he has any information."

"ALICE, you and Blitzen are going to make us filthy rich. Get to studying Blackjack and Poker. We'll get that ship Haman was wanting built in record time."
>>
>>35305915
>>35306012

Further suggestion.

"I'll get into contact with Cima and see if she can loan us a commando team temporarily. We can pull both OPs at once."

>>We'll see to that first, make a clean getaway after the heist.

>Did ALICE model herself after Vocaloids?
Even in the future there are torrents for MMD and Vocaloid software. Specifically she's using an updated version of Miku Append "Dark" with an English pronunciation pack.

In case you were curious.

are they well seeded?

I do not think it a lack of money, is it?

Not particularly, no. But being able to purchase Anaheim tech and personnel never hurts, yeah?
>>
>>35306098
Given how fast ALICE downloaded it, I imagine they must be. The question is: Did she seed too? It's the responsible thing to do, young lady.

You almost have to stifle a laugh. "Of course we're going to pick them up, silly. We'll take care of that before the heist, makes our getaway cleaner."

You can feel Haman relax immediately when you tell her you'll be picking up Serena Karn and Mineva Zabi. "That's a relief... thank you, Dominic. I'm in your debt."

"Not at all," you insist. "But there's still the issue of the casino heist going off smoothly... not gonna lie, it's an unusual mission."

Karen nods to Reiko, who pulls up a floor plan for the casino you're going to hit. "This is the Altira Manhattan casino, Side 4. Thirty-six floors, just over two hundred tables and 400 machines, with around a hundred and fifty luxury rooms and suites in the tower."

You see a large projected image of the building: a full city block at least of curvy glass and steel, with a large tower at one side for guest accommodations. Below it is what almost looks like a pile of tiered wedding cakes made of tinted glass panels and neon, where the casino itself and all the other amenities are located.

"It has two spas, a fitness center, parking space across the street, a steakhouse, Cantonese restaurant, French bistro, and a North African restaurant, a noodle bar, a buffet service, two cafes, and three bars, including one low-key gin joint and cafe called the Café Américain," Catharine adds, pointing out the locations of various rooms and hallways as you view the whole floorplan.

"Where's the vault?" Audrey asks.

ALICE appears amidst the image and indicates a portion of the basement and sub-basement. "Here. The space reported to store Zeonic assets is here. Entrances are through a security door on the casino's main floor and through the service elevator shaft nearby."

Noel squints at a small note near the elevator. "Seems this elevator needs a key to go to the lower floors," she tells you. "That could be an issue."

"We could always climb down the shaft," Catrina counters, cocking her head to one side.

Karen shakes her head, clearly not sold on the viability of any sort of heist just yet. "We'd need to get in, though. And we're not going to manage that in Titans uniforms."

"Shopping spree?" Rossweisse asks nonchalantly, though you can tell she's secretly excited at the prospect of more nice things: after all, she hardly owns anything aside from the swimwear you bought her and her uniforms. Certainly nothing too fancy.

Well, Commodore Riddick DID give you an excessive amount of money to prepare for the mission...

DO IT. But save Macross Plus for later, I don't want to offend her by showing her a story where an AI goes insane and tries to kill people to prove her love for them. Might hit a bit too close to home with her need for approval and interaction.
>>
>>35306622
We could show her Macross7 and Frontier first.
>>
>>35306514
Now that I think of it, when we're in-transit, have ALICE start digging for information on Kowen and why he was arrested.

"Why not use Quattro's and Cima's connections to contact these people? We can have a meet in-person with Haman and Carya here while we deal with the rescue mission. Have Cima loan us those commandos and we'd have a good chunk covered.'
>>
>>35306622
I think she was a Bio-AI? The one from Plus.
>>
>>35306661
If I recall correctly, he was officially arrested for taking command of troops he wasn't allowed to in order to fuck over Delaz.

Unofficially, it's a different story.
>>
>>35306681
Sharon Apple started as a limited AI that needed human input via a mind-machine interface to approximate sentience, but was eventually upgraded to full intelligence. Then she went crazy and fixated on the love life of the person who used to interface with her. It got weird.
>>
>>35306661
No I rather not we owe them.
>>
>>35306770
We put Cima in power and practically cleared her name with the Feds. She owes US. Plus Char actively has an interest in New Manhattan as Selena AND Mineva are their. He'd know the up-and-up and the people there.
>>
>>35306804
>thinking that Char would actually care about what happened to them
That's adorable. Really. But no, Char's an asshole and is too busy doing DRAMATIC SPACE PRINCE THINGS, as Hearts put, to be involved in the lives of the people he ostensibly cares about.
>>
>>35306514
“I guess we need to go shopping, then,” you shrug, perfectly willing to go along with the idea.

Karen nods. “Defrah, put us on a course for London.”

You look at your captain in confusion. “Harrods is the place to go for expensive clothing,” she explains simply. “One of the best on the planet.”

“Alright then. You're the Captain, after all. ALICE, Reiko, and Catharine should probably spend the time digging for more information on the Altira Manhattan while we're on our way.”

“Good thinking,” she agrees. “Let's get to it, folks.”

ALICE gives a polite bow and disappears from the main screen, reappearing on Reiko's terminal as she and the secretaries start trying to decide where to begin looking. Defrah, however, rises up out of her seat after punching in the coordinates and limps heavily towards you and Audrey on her prosthesis.

“Hold up a sec,” she tells you. “I've got a gift here from Lucette.”

In her outstretched hand you spot a small, unmarked datadisk.

“This is all the data on the Dendrobium Stamen,” she explains. “She sent it to me yesterday as a parting gift... sweet young woman, but she's got a one-track mind. It was the only way she knew to 'repay me' for working with her for three years.”

Audrey takes the disk gingerly. “The whole plans? That's one hell of a gift, especially since it's probably illegal to give it to you... she must think highly of you, Defrah.”

The dusky-skinned woman chuckles to herself and shrugs. “It's not like I've got a use for it anymore. Maybe some day, but not how things stand... so to speak. It's also got data on Anaheim's subarm designs.”

Audrey lets out a low whistle. “You knew we were looking into reproducing that?”

“Of course. Same with the hardlink system for a support armor, right? All you'll need to replicate it is the material and that disk.”
>Response?

Also, sorry these updates are a bit slower coming than I'd like, but I'm also trying to set some DCs for later in a way that they're tough, but passable.

Poor Doc. Our conceptual MS tech go-to-person is Audrey and Emary is pretty much the one calling the shots in the hangar.

“Aw, and I didn't get you anything,” you sigh, placing your hands on the back of your head. “Remind me to fix that some time. We owe you, Defrah.”

“S'what I do,” she replies with a salute before limping back over to her seat.

“I bet this is giving you all sorts of ideas, isn't it Audrey... Audrey?” you ask, turning to figure out where she went. To your surprise, she's practically halfway to the hangar deck.

Guess that's a yes, then.

Karen chuckles at you as you walk past her, then lean over Miyu's workstation.

“Put through a comm link to Cima Garahau, would you?”

Today is December 16th, UC 0083. It's taken the Valkyrie the better part of three days to reach London, where you stop outside the city. Your crew is officially on leave for the weekend, and your fellow officers arrange to take the tubes into town, taking the Picadilly line to Knightsbridge. Emerging from the station, you find yourself standing just outside one of the largest and most expensive luxury department stores on the face of the Earth: Harrods.

Inside you find a riot of colors and the mingled scents of a thousand perfumes and many hundreds of foods and snacks, your senses practically overwhelmed. Every single thing in this place seems too expensive for your tastes, from the merchandise, to the clothing you see shoppers wearing, to the goddamn wallpaper.

The money given to you by Titans for the occasion practically evaporates out of your hands as everyone seems to get not just one or two nice things, but whole outfits. Rossweisse's necklace with flowers of semi-precious stones for $500, Haman's $1,200 handbag, and Carya's $3,000 black dress are essentially par for the course. You pick a fairly modest vest, pants, and a Burberry jacket for about $6,000 total, and keep the Tissot your father gave you as your watch of choice: it looks nice enough, and it's reliable as any machine ever crafted by mankind.

It also suits you better than the $15,000 Rolex Reiko had you try on for giggles.

For those not present, you also pick up a few items: in the toy section you get a Haro with no data on it, intending to let ALICE use it how she pleases. For Artesia, you all decide on a string of elegant pearls. Most importantly, you insist on a stuffed Acguy toy to give to Mineva when you meet her, deliberately avoiding the salmon-pink one. For Doc Null, you get a bottle of whiskey: the man deserves a drink with the shit he's been through. It also seems each of you has made a point to do some Christmas shopping.
(2/3)
>>
>>35307643
Finally, after struggling with all your purchases on the tube and attracting quite a lot of stares, you return to the Valkyrie. You immediately present your gift to ALICE, who seems overwhelmed that you got something for her.

Now, it comes time to plan the heist itself.

That's actually a really fucking good idea. Turn the funnels into flashlights. Enough power to blow through a concrete divider wall, but not enough to punch through the colony. We use them as improvised demo packs to cut our way through the vault door.

Drs. Roots and Carol intended her to develop through the loneliness of a one-sided relationship with a pilot who wasn't aware of her existence.

Just some idle thoughts, but perhaps the best chance of intercepting the cash is when it's in the process of being handed off. No need to break into the vault and it would also net us the perps on both sides of the exchange.

“Okay,” you begin after reassembling your team on the bridge. “What did we all learn?”

“We've got a problem,” Catharine sighs heavily, cradling her head in her hands. “We're dealing with fifty million in gold bars.”

Karen lets out a low whistle. “How much does that weigh?”

ALICE appears on the main screen. “At current exchange rates, approximately one point three-seven-five short tons.”

“That's a problem, right?” Catrina asks. “That much weight is a problem, right ALICE?”

“Grave,” the red-haired AI agrees.

Miyu points at a small square on the floorplan. “This should have service vehicles. We could move the gold that way, and take it downstairs to the casino's private cargo dock.”

“Risky,” Karen admits, “but yeah. Might work.”

“Okay, so the first issue is weapons,” Noel tells you. “There are no scanners for bags brought in by guests, but bags are searched going onto the casino floor.”

>>

It's in the sub-basement level. It has an opening to the exterior of the colony cylinder.

Another thing would be sneaking a fully charged beam sabre or beam jitte in. Set it on low power, lean it against the vault hinges, and let gravity do the rest.

>>
The Titans were planning to go in loud anyway, right? Why not use our Titan authority to just confiscate it outright? We go in loud with the Hizacks and Quel.
>>
>>35308371
Civilian casualty's mainly.
We want to avoid a gaping hole into space because we rammed our suits in there.

Trying to forceful take on foot will just result in a gun fight.

Of course we could make a bomb scare and then go in with a gundam.
>>
>>35308084
Hairspray + cigarette lighter combo?
>>
>>35308405
Hm. ALICE could roll Haros to place the 'bombs' in the casino. Have them set up in corners and LOUDLY start counting down. Load a few of them with smoke grenades to trigger the fire alarms and bam. Instant panic.
>>
Okay, idea.

We split into two teams. One entry team that's going to go in the casino and establish a foothold, the other as the escape team whose job is to keep the getaway vehicles ready. The getaway team's job is to get into the parking with our extra gear in case we need it and be ready to accept the cargo and us in case shit goes bad.

The insertion team's job is to gain access to the casino's servers and maintenance from on top. We need some device that'd let ALICE get into their systems and hack them. If we can cause a fire alarm or something to get the people out to safety, that'd be great. The fire alarm would also let us get the getaway team in disguised as firemen (pull some Titan rank on the local fire department).

So, to summarize, we go in, start a fire alarm, ALICE hacks into their systems in the chaos, and we try to get out with the gold in a firetruck.

Yes, I've been playing too much Shadowrun lately, shut up.
>>
>>35308463
Haros. Always bet on Haros. We create a meshnet with them so ALICE can hop into the systems.
>>
>>35308084
"Could we sneak in as performers maybe?" Reiko muses.

Catharine shakes her head. "That's never gonna work. The casino keeps track of that sort of detail. They'll know."

"You really think they'd figure it out?"

"I would."

You crack your fingers in boredom. "Then we'll check two of our team in, use their room as a base of operations."

"I'd say Reiko and Catharine," Karen suggests. "They could use the room to work on the casino's electronic security systems."

You nod in agreement. "That makes good sense. We'll have them bring in our weapons and conceal them before going out onto the casino floor. It'll work so long as nothing prints. I doubt their hired muscle make it a habit to pat down such classy ladies, it'd be bad for business given their clientele."

"There is another issue," ALICE announces. "The electronic infiltration will be substantially more difficult than it would be against military targets, given the expenditure made by the casino's operating group. By my estimates, Ensigns Hollinger and Blitzen will require assistance."

"Any ideas?" Audrey asks her. "I'll see if Doc Null and I can't work out a way for you to help."

ALICE's avatar nods energetically, her rendered hair bouncing as she does so. "I can write a simple program onto the Haro unit Dominic purchased for me which will correct for at least one failed attempt at breaching their system's security."

Create a corridor between the vault and the outside. Preferably using the colony's own internal barriers to make it airtight.

Overpressurize the atmosphere in the vault, vent the corridor to space.

Put a net over the open end of the corridor.

Open the door between the vault and the corridor, blowing the gold into the net.

"What about a logic bomb?" you ask. "A security system that complex probably updates itself on a regular basis. ALICE could write the code and insert it into the update's datastream, then we could have Reiko and Catharine trigger it once we're on site. It'd give us complete control over the system."

There's a VERY long, pregnant pause in the room.

"How the fuck?" Catrina asks, staring at you.

Audrey blinks once in disbelief. "The crazy thing is, he's right. Without ALICE it would never work... but we've got ALICE."

"You think you can handle it, ALICE?" you ask her.

The AI's animated avatar beams at you with confidence. "Naturally, Dominic. Connect the Valkyrie's systems at the dockyard in New Manhattan and I will take it from there."

"Now the third problem," Audrey mutters to herself. "Getting into the restricted areas."

"The elevator or the door from the casino, right?" Carya asks for clarification.

Audrey bites her lip. "We would need to steal that key from the front desk in the lobby to use it, which would be a huge advantage later in the process. Or we'd need to sneak down the shaft without triggering any alarms... which may go off automatically even if we have control of the system."

"Or we send a team in through the casino," Miyu adds, rounding out the options. "They'd have to be sneaky, though, and probably well-armed. There are guards patrolling the hallway to the vault rooms."
>We'll take the hallway. We can be sneaky.

But even then, a small amount of the total gold is still more than enough to buy the clinic.

>>
>>35308714
I really don't think it's enough. Augusta, Oakland and Murasame are huge institutions. The Titans have put a lot of funding into them. I doubt they're even for sale in the first place. A better use of the money would be bribes to get information on the programs so we can expose them to the public.
>>
>>35308710
Is it PHYSICAL key or an ELECTRONIC key? If it's electronic, that's straightforward. Copy it. If it's physical, then we have problems and must work around the prospect of it being discovered missing.

weren't the institutions not owned by the titans to begin with? they started independent and then got nabbed didn't they? I forget, but i know the titans don't start off running the show, their organization started after the labs existed.
>>
>>35308764
Physical: basically, it's like a fireman's key. It fits a very specific spot on the elevator's console, and allows you to open a small panel that covers the buttons for the vault and dock levels.
>>
>>35308710
>>Someone can cause a distraction and we'll steal the key.
>>
We're overlooking several things here. What security is on the vault itself? Retina scanner? DNA sampler? Fingerprint reader? We'll haft to overcome all of those obstacles if we don't simply cut our way through with a plasma welder. Even then, we still haft to account for the fact security may just fucking vent the entire corridor and vault to vacuum if we prove too persistent.

>>35308802
>physical

Double damn. That means we'll be on a timer.
>>
>>35308786
The Newtype labs were always government projects. They were established before the Titans were organized, but considering Jamitov's scheming I would be surprised if he wasn't part of getting them started. He's certainly got his tendrils in them now. It's too late to buy them out. Like I said, it would be better to use the money to expose them than to purchase them.
>>
If it's a physical key, then we definitely use a key-copier. Seriously, it's a piece of tech that exists in the real world right now, we'd be stupid not to use it here.
>>
>>35308802
>>35308821
Actually, have crew research the vault itself. When was it installed? Is it a custom model? What is the manufacturer? Does it have Luna Titanium walls or normal Titanium? How thick is the door and walls? What is the size? Where is it located in relation to the colony skin? We can figure out from there how to approach the vault itself.
>>
>>35308868

Karen smacks you on the back of your head. “We're not taking anyone with us, Dominic.”

“You never let me have any fun.”

Haman taps the map gently with one finger. “We'll probably end up improvising that part. If it all goes wrong, we could still try sneaking anyway.”

“So that leaves the Vault,” Reiko concludes. “Biometric scanners, several independent alarms to trigger. Brand new and top of the line. It even has its own power supply.”

“That's not even fair!” Defrah shouts, throwing her hands up. “How do you hack that?”

“Walls.” Rossweisse states simply.

“Walls?” you ask, somewhat confused.

“Walls.”

You shrug. “Maybe. ALICE? How thick are the walls?”

“Thick,” she replies, placing her hands on her hips. “Approximately one inch of titanium alloy between six-inch slabs of reinforced concrete.”

There HAS to be a way to get into that vault...

How is the vault located in relation to the docking bay? Because if we could get a suit inside and just steal the entire vault by precise application of a cutting tool then huzza.

You know, the real question is what is the titanium alloyed with? People don't seem to realize that titanium by itself isn't any stronger than steel, it's just about half the weight. So we have a foot of reinforced concrete and what amounts to an inch of steel. Lets just drill through the damn thing.
>>
>>35309183
There's more than one way to link an alarm system up.

Only a retard puts it all on one digital network.
>>
Two things.

What's the procedure like if someone wants to get into the safe? How many security checkpoints are there, what do they do on each, stuff like that?

Second, who's the guy with the access to the safe? And whose side is he on (Zeon sympathizer, I presume)? If so, maybe we can try to get him to open the safe for us if we pull enough weight - say how we're here on Cima's behalf or Haman's or Char's.
>>
>>35308965
“We DO have a doctor of applied Minovsky physics,” you point out. “He blew up his house with a miniature e-pac.”

“I like it,” Catrina admits. “I like it almost too much. IT wouldn't even set off any alarms, and we could use it to torch anything we couldn't take with us.”

“M-particle charges wouldn't care about the material you use them against,” Audrey confirms.

“I like it,” Rossweisse agrees.

“Alright,” Defrah continues. “You think Cima will pull through clearing the routes for us out of the cargo bay?”

You shrug. “Probably. If not, we shoot our way out. Mix things up a little.”

You find the good Doctor in the hangar after your meeting concludes, and he waves you down.

“Mister O'Hara, have you SEEN the arm unit on this GM of yours? Titans has clearly been withholding advancements of its own... I know Frank would love to see this. Look at how the armor and servos are grafted to a more compact frame! Ingenious how they've...”

“Doc,” you interrupt. “Sorry to disturb your romantic evening with this severed mobile suit arm, but I need a favor, and you're our go-to guy in the munitions department.”

You're fairly sure if you could see the man's eyes they'd be glinting maniacally. “Oh, Commander. If that's the case, Doctor Bidan can wait for my report. What do you need?”

“A minovsky particle breaching charge.”

“When do you need them?”

“Three days.”

“How big?”

“Small enough to fit under a woman's dress.”

The doctor flashes you a toothy, shit-eating grin. “You're just a treat to work with, young man. You know that, right?”

December 20th, UC 0083. It's five days before Christmas, and already things seem to be getting exciting around New Manhattan. Couples shopping for last-minute gifts, children playing on an ice rink set up in the park, parents enjoying an evening of peace and quiet while their younger kids fall on the ice and their teenaged children go out on dates. It's a wonderful time of year.

Haman grabs you by the hand and tugs you off the Valkyrie almost the second it docks.

"Come on," she insists. "Let's get to the address Char left with Artesia already."

"Hold on," you reply testily. "She'll be there five minutes from now, let me take care of the rest of this shit and we'll go straight there."

You quickly oversee ALICE's infiltration into the computer networks of the colony, where she sets to work laying the logic bomb you'll use later. You also help Reiko and Catharine pack the bags full of computer equipment, Sig Sauer and Walther pistols, a pair of folding SMGs, and the requisite number of m-particle 'grenades' (read: all of them). Karen agrees to watch over the two secretaries to ensure they make it safely to the casino, and both young women change into their absolutely stunning attire, ready to blend in with the upper-crust elitists who'll no doubt be crowding the place.

Finally, as you tuck your gift for Mineva into a satchel, you ponder how you should go abut this.

“Rossweisse,” you grab the girl as she passes by, “think you could mount up in the Viola in case shit goes sideways?”

The quiet young woman nods, her blue eyes sparkling in determination. “Of course.”

You then quickly locate the sisters and Artesia, arguing that you could use another shooter and a trained medic in your group. Finally Haman, who by this point is practically stamping her feet in impatience, rushes the three of you out and into the colony. The fifteen minute trip to the apartment flies by, until you arrive in a quiet residential district near a small pocket park. You walk cautiously to the door and punch in the appropriate code at the key console.

“Carya and I will lead,” you tell the rest. “Artesia, Haman, you follow us three meters behind. Keep your eyes open.”

You open the door and draw your pistol, a .357 semi-auto, and twist on a suppressor. To your left, Catrina takes over and does the same, her finger hovering just off the trigger as you creep up the stairs. At each landing you scan around, looking for any hint of an ambush. Apartment #3 on the second floor seems to have a porno playing rather loudly inside, but aside from that you notice very little amiss until you reach the fifth floor, where the target apartment is.

There's something off... aggression, behind you, across the landing. You and Catrina both burst into motion even as the door opens. Catrina falls back to cover your unarmed teammates, while you dash forward and slide to one side of the door.

The man who opens it is tall and rather lanky, with high cheeks and a crop of black hair. He shouts loudly in surprise as you lock aim on each other.

"Apolly!" he shouts into the room behind him, where you feel another possible shooter moving.

You can take the shot now, but something strikes you as odd... the man hasn't shot you yet either, and there seem to be two people stirring in your target apartment as well. And that name, "Apolly"...

You can feel that Haman recognizes all three of the presences in that apartment.

“Everyone, stand the FUCK down,” you order, though the most you get is a bit of relaxation on the part of Carrina, who keeps her pistol in a high ready position. You lean to one side and see a second man with a short crop of sickly green hair raise a shotgun.

“Who are you?” the black-haired man demands.

You pull your own pistol back from apogee into relock-high. “Commander O'Hara, Titans. You one of Char's?”

Finally, the pistol lowers as the man pointing it at you recognizes Char's name. “That's right. Name's Roberto. Why the hell are you here, Commander?”

“Roberto?” you hear a voice demand from behind you. “What's going on out here? Lady Mineva's trying... HAMAN!”

You turn your head just slightly to watch Serena Karn dart out of the door and practically level her older sister with a hug. “Haman! What are you doing here?”

Haman holds her sister with a smile on her lips. “We've come here to make sure you and Lady Mineva are safe now that the masked moron's apparently run off.”

Roberto holsters his pistol, and you do the same as he inclines his head towards Haman. “Lady Haman, I failed to notice you. My deepest apologies.”

Through the still-open door you see a young girl, no more than three, come into view.

“Loud,” Lady Mineva Zabi mutters, glaring at both you and Roberto.

Also, why didn't we bring Artisia? You'd think she'd want to see what kind of girl Char decided to abandon in a hotel. And possibly plot with her to beat some sense into him.

"Roberto, Apolly, I don't know how much you know nor care, but the kid and Serrena need to move. Johnny is tearing himself up out there, the Titans are going to blow the fuck out of this colony if we don't get what we were assigned to retrieve, and the safest place for both you and them is on my ship. I can guarantee your safety far easier between several layers of titanium than out here in an apartment block."

At the sight of the little auburn-haired kid, your mood changes so quickly you may well have stripped a gear.

“I'm sorry,” you tell Mineva quietly, walking across the landing to scoop her up into your arms, much to Roberto and Apolly's chagrin. “Did I wake you up?”

Mineva nods unhappily. “Yes. You're loud.”

“It's nice to meet you, though,” you add sincerely, hoping she can pick up on that and forget that she currently hates your guts for waking her. “I even brought you a present.” You hold Mineva, who cooperates with you, in one arm as you pull out the Acguy plushie from your satchel and hand it to her.

The young girl's eyes light up. “Cute!” she announces. “Not pink?”

“You don't like pink?”

Mineva shakes her head fervently. “The blond man likes pink. I hate pink.”

You laugh deeply and loudly, and the young Lady Mineva joins you: apparently Char's none too popular here either. Satisfied that Mineva has been sufficiently defused, you pass her off to Artesia, who begins giving her a once-over.

“Come on,” Haman urges her sister. “We've got a ship docked here. You can come with us, you'll be safer.”

“What about Natalie?” Serana asks. “And Roberto and Apolly?”

“They'll come with us. Better that than hanging around in our AO, and if they can't palate staying with us we'll have Cima take them in. And the rest of Titans certainly won't look for you lot on one of their own ships."

“Your AO?” the man called Apolly repeats.

“Cima?” Roberto adds with some skepticism.

You nod. “Titans is hitting the Altira Manhattan to deal with the Principality funds in their vaults. We offered to go in quiet to keep them from going in loud and possibly killing a lot of civilians. Cima of the Republican Guard is giving us a hand.”

“I see,” Roberto replies, stroking his chin.

“Besides,” you add. “The little princess wouldn't take it too kindly if I left any of you behind, I'd warrant.”

“Then we'll tag along,” Apolly replies. “After all, none of us want to make the little princess mad either.”

“I'll take a look at Miss Bianchi,” Artesia announces, “then we can move out.”

December 24th: Christmas eve. After some setup, everything has fallen in place for your raid on the casino. You've timed the whole heist to go off while the holiday festivities are in full swing.

Your team has assembled in the room rented out for Reiko and Catharine, the latter of whom has been making a small fortune counting cards downstairs in her spare time. All of you are in your finest clothing: Karen, the secretaries, Carya and Catrina, Haman, Rossweisse, Emma, and Audrey. All of them look simply, jaw-droppingly gorgeous tonight.

Even Defrah, Miyu, and Noel have dressed up, though aboard the Valkyrie nobody else can see them. It's their task to maneuver your ship into position, though they had a chance last night to live it up in style.

Reiko and Catharine tap furiously at their laptops...

"No, that's wrong," you tell Rossweisse quietly, your hands sliding across her thighs to move the pistol and demo charges under her dress. "The pistol goes on the inside so it won't print. The charges are thin enough that they can go on the back of your thigh and not show up." Meanwhile, Catrina helps Audrey hide her own weapons. Finally, you stick your pistol and its suppressor in a shoulder holster under your jacket, and strap a few charges to your ankles.

"Alright. Haman, Emma, you're the distraction team. Let's go get that key."

Downstairs, you step out into the lobby and walk across the room towards the security desk. Looking down you note the pure ostentation of the decor: red and white marble in a checked pattern, with thick glass in the center covering a recessed niche. In each niche sits a small gold bar, illuminated from the sides by LEDs.

And it's onto one of those squares of reinforced glass that Haman drops a bottle of extremely fine Brunello as she bumps into a valet. The bottle shatters, and it tugs your heartstrings to see the precious liquid splash across the floor like the blood of a fallen martyr...

It had to be done, you tell yourself.

"Be strong, my love," Carya taunts you, her voice overly dramatic. Rossweisse places a reassuring hand on your shoulder.

Haman absolutely TEARS INTO the valet, and Emma makes a show of trying to restrain the young woman. Fortunately the display seems to be working... the one guard at the desk who hasn't gone for a piss break gets up to deal with the disturbance...

>77: Success... barely
It's a close thing, but using the holiday crowds you manage to get across the room and behind the security desk. The key you need stands out like a sore thumb: more like a hex wrench than a key. With a quick look around, you snag it and return to the Sisters, Audrey, and Rosse.

Meanwhile, Haman has stopped shouting at the poor young valet, whose eyes are filled with tears as he apologizes profusely for something that wasn't his fault. You think Haman feels a little bad, actually... but just a little. Finally, seeing that you've completed your task, Haman stomps off, leaving Emma to 'apologize' in her wake.

The elevator is just a short trip across the casino floor. Nobody pays you too much mind, although a few men turn their eyes towards one or the other of your admittedly-fetching companions.

Maybe that was a miscalculation.

Ignoring the appreciative stares, the four of you manage to find a moment to slip into the elevator, and you pop the key in place, dropping down to the vault level, first basement.

In the hallway, you spot two armed guards: both FAR too heavily armed to be civilians.

"Radio," Rosse whispers, spying a radio handset on one of them.

Carrina nods and pats Rossweisse on the head. "Well spotted," she whispers back.

The soldiers haven't noticed you.

You hold in place for seven long minutes, praying you won't be spotted. Then, on the half hour exactly, the guards call in... if you'd caused them to miss their call, you'd have only had seven minutes before the defenders knew something was wrong. About now, you also realize the rest of your team will be packing up to return to the Valkyrie.

"Okay, we need a distraction..."

"On it," Carya replies, gesturing to Audrey.

Neither speaks up until they're fairly close to the guards.

"Hey, handsome," Carya greets the two guards, swaying her hips seductively. "The big guys upstairs told us there were a couple of hard-working guys down here who needed a chance to... unwind?"

Audrey does her best to act flirty with the second guard, but you can tell she's REALLY out of her element here. Her guard isn't buying it... but Carya's is either just stupid or just horny enough to take the bait.

"That was mighty nice of them," he replies casually, one hand reaching towards Carya's ass.

Oh HELL no. That's NOT happening. Even before Carya gets the chance to snap the bastard's neck, you pop out from behind a corner and flash the two guards your chest.

"HEY BOYS!" you shout. "GOT YOUR TICKETS TO THE GUN SHOW!"

The sisters' guard is stunned by your appearance... until Carrina's fist collides with his throat, causing his eyes to bulge and a small spray of blood to shoot out of his mouth. But as the second blow connects with his knee, shattering bone and driving a wedge of tibia out the side of his leg, something throws you off sightly: Audrey's guard can't take his eyes off your chest, even as she crushes his pelvis with his knee.

What're the odds?

Both guards thoroughly incapacitated, the still-stunningly attired ladies choke out their victims before you continue on to the vault. Rossweisse takes a moment to poke your chest appreciatively.

"Delicious."

Finally, you reach the vault itself.

Paptimus Scirocco, one of the major villains of the second half of Zeta Gundam. He joins the Titans, takes them over, and kills Jamitov Hymem. In this timeline, though, it looks like he might be aiming to do that to Marz Zeon instead.

Head to the private dock owned by the Casino and grab the transports while Audrey fixes the charge to the wall. Radio the Valkyrie that we're gonna need some more hands to move the gold, which implies something getting in a mobile suit with a really big sack, or a base jabber to load down with the loot. "Alright, I'll grab a forklift or something. You ladies blast me a hole in the wall."

You leave, and return after a loud series of pops and hisses: more like the sound of thermite than grenades. Your trolly glides across the deck, and you're greeted by the site of three women in gorgeous dresses, staring in awe at the contents of the vault.

As it turns out there are fewer gold bars: only about three quarters of a ton, you'd guess. The rest is in bills. Briefcase after briefcase of bills.

There too are art objects of various descriptions in clear hard-sided cases. There are fine paintings, sculptures, antiques... even a large collection of crystal vases.

"Those must have belonged to Colonel M'Quve," Carya realizes in astonishment. "Holy shit... these are priceless."

"Can't just leave 'em here," you reply casually as Rossweisse flips a spare detonation charge into the air, catching it again after each graceful arc.

Art is also extremely sensitive to temperature, moisture, and a host of other factors while gold and dosh are not. We take the smart route and grab the cash, find a smelter to make one ounce gold coins, and become filthy fucking rich by offloading our haul.

>>35312509
I'm just worried that we'll damage the paintings by exposing them to vacuum. They're probably in their own little special armor-glass containers, but you never know.

"Catrina, Rosse," you order, waving at the gold and cases of money. "Help me load a pallet with this and tie it down. We'll take four pallets, focusing on the gold and cash but taking as much of the lighter art as we can. Audrey, pile the heavier shit up and get set to torch it. Either way, we leave nothing."

It takes about another twenty minutes to load up four pallets of valuables, and you find your key also works with the cargo lift nearby that takes you down to the currently pressurized cargo hangar down one level. There, you find a shuttle docked, along with several heavily-armed Republican Guard soldiers in civilian pressure suits.

"Here," one offers you a suit. "Admiral Cima sends her kindest regards." Your team exchange glances, but the Guard are quick to give you space to change in private. Then, thirty-five minutes after you took down the guards in the hallway, all hell starts to break loose.

Principality guards drop down through the cargo lift, and open fire on you and your team. One bullet shatters a crystal vase, sending shards of glass flying into Carya's face. She's cut by a shard or two, but she'll be fine. Ir could have been worse: one narrowly missed her left eye. In response she flings her last m-particle charge while the Republican troopers have the attackers pinned down, and wipes out the first wave.

Likewise, Audrey blasts the last of the art to atoms before putting on her helmet. The Republican soldiers fall back to their shuttle, knowing by your positioning what you're planning even without having to tell them.

You pop your helmet on, and grab hold of the nearest piece of cargo, before pressing the switch that opens the hangar doors and pushing off against the floor, sending gold, cash, and women flying out into the void...

Your aim is... well, not especially relevant, actually. Since it's mainly the explosive decompression that's sent you out into space, it's a good thing you've even managed to drift out away from the colony at all, tumbling out ahead of the depressurized corpses of the Principality soldiers who were caught in the same force that pulled your team out.

Your heart sinks, however, as you notice that you've been separated from your team. You can hear your teammates for a little while... first Audrey is recovered, perfectly fine. Then Rossweisse, who's worried half to death about you and the Sisters. Who are next, as it happens.

You, though? You're plainly the farthest off course, drifting through an empty sea of nothingness. No up, no down. Just you and a shit-ton of gold that you can't even spend out here.

There are a few moments where you have to wonder what it's like to die out here, cold and alone and afraid.

>>
>>35312858
Thankfully it's less than fifteen minutes before you're rescued. You could have gone over an hour with your current air supply, but that would have been pretty uncomfortable after a while.

“Took you long enough, sweetheart,” you chide Haman as she surrounds you in repurposed crash netting taken from the Valkyrie's hangar.

“Sorry,” she apologizes, the Lilium starting to pull you in towards the ship. “It took a bit of time to get to you all.”

“It's fine,” you reassure her. “I was just teasing. I knew you'd rescue me, you know.”

“How'd you know that?”

You give her an exaggerated shrug that you're sure she could see on her cameras. “Because I'd stop at nothing to rescue you if I were in your place."

“Bleaach,” Defrah complains. In response you blow a kiss at the Valkyrie's bridge.

Once aboard, Karen pulls you aside to make your report to Riddick...

>>
>>35313046

Ten percent of the gold and a few notable antiquities. Om is expecting some corruption, it's the Titans way, so taking a little won't anger him.
>>
>>35313046
>Report that you had to destroy some of the money, keep stuff for yourself (how much?)

All the cash got spaced, if not burned to ashes outright. (We're actually keeping all the cash that we managed to recover.)
I think we can part with 200 million in gold, just to keep Bask off our back for a while.
Part with a couple of M'Quve's vases so that we can set a precedent that the Principality remnants was indeed very deeply involved in the dealing with the casino.
>>
>>35313188
this
>>
>>35313188
Keep in mind, Titans only knows about the gold, too.

We should probably hand over the gold since that would be more difficult to destroy beyond recovery. Everything else was "fragged" though.
>>
>>35313214
I just want M'Quve's vase collection.
>>
>>35313220
That's easy to explain. When we were attacked, the hangar depressurized (it did), we lost it all when our commandeered shuttle was hit by shrapnel and exploded. That's easy to report with a bit of electronic diddling from ALICE.
>>
>>35313214
Okay.

Keep 90% of the cash, 24 gold bricks, and all but one of the vases.
Use a blowtorch and get the Doc's help to make the rest of the money and gold bricks look like they barely survived getting turned to ash by explosives, and simply say that the vases didn't survive the explosive decompression and subsequent crashing around the hangar intact.

"There was no cash," you tell Karen. "We slagged half of the gold because we ran out of time."

Karen nods. "Gotcha. Hell of a take for us... but it's the same as theirs. Seems fair."

The captain's ready room is nice and quiet, and ready for you to start bullshitting Commodore Om. "ALICE," Karen orders, "put the asshole on screen."

"I see you survived," Om greets you, a grin tugging at his cheeks, little wrinkles developing around his freakish black glasses. "Well done. How much did you recover?"

"About 250 million in gold, and a fair bit of valuable antiques," you lie, betraying no hints of duplicity. "The other half of the gold proved too much to move with too little time, so we slagged it rather than let the Zeeks have it."

For once, Om starts to laugh: definitely not something you want to hear again, you decide. "Fair enough," he grants you. "It's the right attitude to take with Zeon. I wish more of our politicians thought the way you do."

"Also, I was thinking you could hold onto a few of the vases we picked up as proof that the casino's management were in bed with the Remnants... at least one of them was definitely stolen by Colonel M'Quve during the war. The rest probably belong in a museum, but I was thinking the ones we can't find a home for would look good on our ship."

Karen and Om both stare at you. "I mean, we ARE a diplomatic vessel as well, are we not?"

Karen shrugs. "We have a hot springs and luxury linens in the Officer's quarters. Sure seems like we're a diplomatic ship alright."

"Very well," Riddick agrees. "You may keep what you wish after transferring the gold to the Alexandria. Om out."

"Have a team scorch some of the gold," you suggest to Karen before you go your separate ways.

"One step ahead of you," she replies.

Finally managing to strip out of the bulky suit you were forced to don earlier, you head down to the pilots' ready room to find it full of fancy dresses and beaming faces.

"Merry Christmas," Rossweisse greets you quietly with a peck on the cheek, while Catrina passes you a flute of stolen Champagne.

They imprinted the Learning Computer into a Newtype brain. It has Amuro's 0079 tactics, plus 0079 Amuro's ability to adapt to enemy tactics.

For all intents and purposes, it is 0079 Amuro they're fighting, and I don't give good odds against an Amuro that taught pilots, because you learn more when you learn teach a subject.

Okay, so it's not pure Amuro, it's second-hand fragments of Amuro imprinted on a biological computer based off Newtype brains. Which is more or less what I said the first time around, barring the exception that the genetic source of the biocomputer may not have come from Amuro himself. Either way, I'm not sure that would accurately reflect how the real Amuro would compare against us. Especially right now, when he's been out of practice for four years.

>he's been out of practice for four years
Dude, he's spent four years teaching newbies how to dodge and hit a target.

He's still a fucking monster.

he has been under house arrest since the OYW

He's been teaching basic piloting skills while never pushing himself to his limits because he's got PTSD. He's not a bad pilot by any means, but he's not the White Devil right now. He needs time to get back into shape.

You know what would be the biggest fuck you to Ridden? His ex. Plus his sister. Plus Haman. Dom's wild ride never ends.

I'm not opposed to romancing them, but I'd rather not do it as a way of fucking with Johnny. Sex up the ladies for the sake of sexing, not for dominance posturing.

I want to see use this.

That's basically what the Ikebanas are going to be, so I'm sure we could get Amuro one.
