Uncle David always seemed to have been popular with women, his advice would be best right now. You decide to call him up on the Codec. After a couple of the rings, Uncle David finally answers.

“Hello? John is that you?” Uncle David responds.

“Yeah Uncle. Need a bit of help over here.” you reply back.

“Can you wait a second? I am kind of in the middle of something.” Uncle David answers.

Uncle David keeps you on the line and you hear the telltale sound of a man being put in a sleeper hold. He must be in the middle of work. After a couple of seconds you hear the shuffling of a man being pulled and then subsequently stuffed into a locker. A little more silence until you hear Uncle David deploy his QPCS.

“Sorry about that John. You just called at a bad time.” Uncle David says to you.

“Sorry.” you reply honestly. It was never good to call your family if they were on a business trip.

“So what sort of problem are you having over there? Get into a lover's quarrel? I know being surrounded by so many girls must make it hard to focus.” Uncle David replies with a light teasing tone.

“Sort of. Remember how you taught me that when a girl kisses you, you kiss her back.” you say as you relay your problem.

“Yeah, I bet she enjoyed it.” Uncle David continues with that teasing tone.

“Well Laura probably did, but she first kissed me in front of the entire class. And well, I kissed her til the point she could barely stand.” you continue relaying your problem.

“And the class wanted to join in? I always knew you had it in you.” Uncle David says with a happily proud voice.

“Not quite. It was more like the class nearly exploded into a riot as I felt the need to evade fire from Cecilia's and Charlotte's IS'.” you reply in a slightly depressed tone.

Uncle David tries his best to contain a snicker but fails.

He begins to laugh then quickly contains it, “John, I can see now why you called.” he says as he regains control.

“Uncle I really need help.” you reply.

“Well first off, don't call Big Boss. He will think solving the problem involves knocking them out, followed by attaching a Fulton Balloon so you can talk in private. Second you need to clarify your own feelings for those girls. If you can' t do that then you shouldn't half-heartily pursue those you don't feel strongly for. Third, you must consider the girl” Uncle David advices you before he is interrupted.

“Now where are you Snake? Don't get angry if I catch you. I'm sure you'll love these new techniques I've come up with.” goes on a somewhat familiar voice.

“John, I'll call you back later. Looks like Ocelot wants to play hide and seek.” Uncle David tells you before he ends the call.

Oh right, Ocelot. That was why his voice sounded so familiar. Ocelot always seemed like a cool business buddy of Grandpa's, even if he insisted on watching the same cowboy movies all the time.

So let's see, don't call Grandpa, clarify your own feelings and make sure you want to chase after her. You weren't able to catch the other bit of advice so you may have to try again.

Before you call your mom on the phone you hear someone approaching. You hunker down and stay very quiet.

“Oh did you hear the what happened in Class 1-A?” says one of the girls walking.

“No, all I heard was the noise.” say the other girl.

“They always seem to be loud. Ah it must be nice to be in the same class as Smith-kun.” the first girl laments.

“Are you kidding? Just imagine all the competition you would have, so many rivals.” responds the second girl before they both laugh.

“Umm?” the second girl says after the laughter, “What is that box of oranges doing there?”

Oh shit, they noticed. Remember your training and stay silent and still.

“Don't touch it, what if one of the teachers left it there.” says the first girl with a bit of caution in her voice.

“Ehhh, I wouldn't want to get in trouble.” the second girl says with the same tone.

Both of the girls walk away soon enough. Once you are sure they are both out of range you begin to call your mom. The phone doesn't even get past the ring tone before it is answered.

“Hello?” you hear your mom say over the phone.

“Hey mom.” you reply.

“Oh John, it's you. I'm glad you finally decided to call us.” your mom replies happily.

“Uh mom, I need some advice.” you ask.

“What is it with the men of this family? Always calling when you need help and never just to talk and check in.” you mom responds slightly annoyed but still happy. “Anyway, what is the problem? I am in the middle of making dinner here. You father is home so if you want I can hand him the phone afterwards.” she continues without the annoyed tone.

You hear your Dad choke for a couple of seconds before he starts laughing.

“Dad.” you say not really depressed, more embarrassed.

He quickly regains his composure and asks, “An entire classroom? I knew you were going to be popular but an entire class of girls is something else.”

“And?” your Dad asks.

This would probably be the best time to talk things over with Ms Yamada. It would get really bad if Ms Orimura hears about what happened between you and Laura before you say anything. That would get really bad, really quick.

You shuffle with your QPCS on your head to a walkway that would be sure to have Ms Yamada pass by. You set up in position that has great sight lanes and wait. Some time passes before you hear the lunch bell ring. The girls slowly filter out from their classes and begin to head to the cafeteria. Soon enough you see Ms Yamada walking back to the Teacher's Room. From here you can barely make out what she is talking to herself, angrily. You undeploy and put away your QPCS and catch up to her.

“Mou, why did he have to go and do that. It was so hard to get class quiet again.” Ms Yamada mumbles to herself.

You skillfully sneak up behind her and finally say something.

“Yamada-sensei, sorry about the whole commotion. I know it's my fault, so I would be willing to accept your punishment.” you say behind her.

She jumps up startled, turning around to face you.

“Ahh! You shouldn't do that Smith-kun!” Ms Yamada says very surprised at you.

“Sorry.” you reply. You've been saying that a lot today.

After a moment where Ms Yamada regains her breath and settles down her beating heart. She really begins to chide you.

“It is good you realize just who is at fault. And as for your punishment, you will help me whenever I need to move around school supplies or class work.” Ms Yamada tells you in her strict voice.

“I understand.” you reply.

“Good.” Ms Yamada now smiling, “If Orimura-sensei saw what happened, you would not be able to survive the punishment.”

“Thank you for being a kind and understanding teacher.” you reply honestly, Ms Orimura would seem like the person to come up with a punishment that would match your Grandpa's.

Hmm if she continues like this, you will never get through to her. And you really want to tell her how you feel and explain yourself. Being someone that acts rather than waits or talks, you decide to take action. Since she won't listen, you'll just have to princess carry her til she will. She can't easily get away from you if you carry her.

“Charlotte, you know how I am. You also know I prefer action.” you tell her.

After you tell Charlotte that you will act, you quickly move to her side and reach to her slender legs while your other arm wraps around her back and proceed to lift her up and princess carry her.

“John, what are you doing?” Charlotte says in shock as she rests lightly in your arms.

She covers her face with her hands in obvious embarrassment. Her face is obviously blushing. The other girls in the line are very jealous at you princess carrying Charlotte while waiting in line.

“Yeah, Grandpa made it a point that I could shoot at a young age. We did a whole bunch of stuff, like camping trips, survival training, firearm training, extensive CQC training, interrogation resistance training...” you list off before Charlotte stops you.

“Ok, ok I get the idea.” Charlotte tells you raising a hand to you so you would stop.

“I didn't really think it was odd until I was in high school. My friends thought it was neat I went hunting with my Grandpa. Until they learned it meant spending a week in the wilderness with only a knife and rifle. Those were fun times, great sights and learning to cook all sorts of animals.” you continue to explain.

You hear someone sneaking up on you. From the corner of your eye Laura quickly approaches your table and sits down, taking a seat next to you.

For some reason you instantly think of the time where it was just the two of you in the bathhouse. Nothing separating the two of you, not even those tiny towels you both had. You feel that suddenly the cafeteria got a lot hotter.

“Well, if I had to say. Kissing might have been the least of our concerns.” you say as you feel your face get warmer and warmer.

Charlotte's reaction takes a second before she starts furiously blushing also. Laura on the other hand was not amused, she instead moves her lunch tray over and sit next to you without any room for your arm. You try to continue eating but not having enough room for your elbow meant you had to keep on moving towards Charlotte and away from Laura. This happened continually until you were sitting next to Charlotte. While not a bad feeling eating next to Charlotte on your right and Laura on your left. It did make eating difficult. After you all finished lunch, you decide to move onto the next girl.

Charlotte and Laura head back to class ahead of you while you wait around in the cafeteria. A minute or so later Cecilia walks towards the exit. Seeing her there, you seize the opportunity and go after her. You quickly catch up and match her pace.

“Cecilia do you mind if we talk?” you ask her.

“Hmph. And what would you have to say?” Cecilia asks in a harsh tone while turning her face away from you.

Yup, she is angry. Being honest worked with Charlotte and Laura, so it should work with Cecilia.

“To be honest, that would not be how I would normally act. Sometimes training kicks in at odd times and you simply act according to training.” you explain.

“If that is so? Why not play around that German girl, or how about that French girl. You must have spent a lot of time together since you were room mates.” Cecilia says harshly.

Hmm, it's not getting through at all. You have to do something to get through her pride. It must have taken a massive hit when you kissed Laura back just after hearing Charles was really Charlotte. As an English lady, what would get through to her. Arthur. Yeah Arthur and the Round Table story is huge in England, so maybe trying that angle would work. Well you made a big show of it with Charlotte, so might as well continue what you are doing. It's not like you aren't already the center of attention, only male IS pilot and all that. So you quicken your pace to get in front of Cecilia. She stops and you take her hand as you go down on one knee.

“What can this humble knight do to regain my Lady's favor?” you ask summoning up your confidence.

You wanted to convey you feelings on this matter and if this is what it took to get Cecilia's attention, then so be it. Cecilia is slightly taken aback by your sudden action and proclamation.

“So that is how it is?” Cecilia asks now in a haughty tone.

“Yes it is milady.” you answer still on one knee.

Cecilia thinks for a minute or so before speaking again. Meanwhile the cafeteria is in hushed whispers as they watch.

“So you wish to regain my favor?” Cecilia asks still in that haughty voice but now enjoying this display.

“Yes milady.” you answer again.

“Then explain yourself.” Cecilia asks in that haughty tone, “Why did you kiss her?”

“My training dictated by my family requires I be prepared for any situation. From survival to being able to act while under duress. My recent action was an action trained by my Uncle that is, how would you say, of questionable faithfulness to his woman.” you explain.

“If that is the case then you will escort me at a time of my choosing. And next time I require it, you will be my knight in the tournament. That way I can train you to my taste.” Cecilia responds smiling haughtily.

“If that is your desire, I will fulfill it.” you declare just before you take her hand and kiss the back of her hand lightly.

Cecilia starts blushing but keeps her composure.

“Now stand my knight and escort me back to our class.” Cecilia commands.

You get up from being on one knee and Cecilia takes your right arm and holds it close to herself. You escort Cecilia back to your classroom. Eventually the rest of your class comes back from lunch. You still haven't had a chance to talk to Houki, you hope she understand. Classes starts and Ms Yamada and Ms Orimura walk in the class.

“Smith. Hall. Now.” Ms Orimura commands as she stares at you.

You quickly get up from you seat and meet Ms Orimura in the hallway. Ms Yamada on the other hand beings class.

“So I heard from Yamada-sensei the stunt you pulled. I was wondering what you said to Laura that got through to her. You said you would protect her even if no one else would. Quite the arrogant thing to say.” Ms Orimura says in a very stern voice.

You keep silent, anything else would just bring down more punishment. Grandpa is a harsh teacher at times.

After a short pause Ms Orimura continues in that very stern voice, “You better keep your word, or else I will find you. Hunt you down and make sure you know what hell is.”

“I do not intend to go back on my word.” you answer with all of your confidence.

You said you would protect Laura and Charlotte always. And you told you would be there for Houki if she ever needed you. And you have always enjoyed time with Cecilia and sort of now became her knight. You will have your hands full to say the least.

“Good. Now head back to class.” Ms Orimura commands.

You silently return to the classroom and take your seat. Class goes by quickly even after the huge commotion you caused in the morning. You just need to talk to Houki now after class. Afternoon classes go by quickly enough. The class is strangely quiet the entire time, you do not take that as good sign. That means they are either planning something or already have something planned. Irregardless you have to talk to Houki. Once class ended, you check in with Ms Yamada if she needs your help. She doesn't need any but is glad you remember your punishment. You make your way to where Houki sits and stand in front of her.

“Houki we need to talk about what happened.” you tell Houki who is still seated.

“Of course we do.” Houki answers a bit annoyed. She must be wondering why it has taken all day to finally talk to her about it.

“Well, I found out in a way neither of us expected. I thought she was brushing her teeth but really she was just coming out of the shower. So it was made apparent of the obvious differences.” you answer.

“Just enough to make it apparent of Charlotte's real gender.” you explain.

“Well I saw Laura's memories. She went through so much, no family to rely on. Forced to trained only to fight. And how the IS caused her even more pain as she was not able to easily use them. Only to be exacerbated by my ease of use. So I saw her memories and wondered why they would do all those things to her. Sure I may not one to speak about abnormal training but in a way, I chose that. Laura was not given a chance and I couldn't stand that. I did not want to see her suffer, so I took it upon myself to protect her from further pain.” you answer honestly. “Well my family is some of the best spies and soldiers to ever wage war. My Grandpa is a legend in the community. So of course he would train is one and only grandson to survive the world as he saw it. Apparently the training was something else from the reactions I've gotten from Charlotte, Laura and the friends I had back at my old high school.” you answer.

“But that doesn't explain all the, the kissing.” Houki stammers out.

“I suppose, Laura took my declaration as a proposal of sorts. So she must have felt that she needed to mark her territory, so to speak. I am not quite sure but someone back in Germany must be feeding her this information. And well, the training also included those sort of tips from my Uncle.” you explain.

Houki begins to blush a bit at the end of your explanation but quickly clears her throat to stay in control.

“So that is why you acted the way you did.” Houki says.

You take Houki by the shoulders and stare her straight into the eyes.

“Houki I am serious when I mean that this stuff can't get out. It is extremely personal information that would ruin both of them. And I can't let that happen.” you tell her in as serious tone as you can muster. This is really important.

Houki looks you back in the eyes, a serious expression paints her face.

“Don't worry. You said you would be there for me, well I am also there for you.” Houki says resolutely. “Isn't it better if we rely on each other for help.” Houki says now with a smile.

“Yeah.” you respond also smiling.

You let her go and she looks off into the ocean. You are able to barely make out what she mumbles to herself, “Onee-chan is this the kind of world you wanted?”

And that is it for today. Sorry about ending with a post just over 6.8k words. Anyway, next time Rin shows her amusement at the whole thing and something returns. Don't think you can escape this because Laura lost.
