The wind blows pathetically, like the last grasping and clawing breaths of a man smothered. The sky is a soul sucking grey, that reflects the boredom you are currently feeling, on top of this building.

The past few days have been boring and relatively calm. You've done little more than sit around your shared room with Maria and helped ms stone with her new "toy", the nun, who has stopped screaming and now sobs and tries to scurry away like a beaten child, disappointing really, you thought she would last longer than she did. So while you do still look forward to your visits to her, you also feel something else everytime you see her tear stained face, a feeling you can't quite place, a feeling of.....remembering something, perhaps?

you shake your head free of all the excess thoughts, turning your mind towards the most pressing concern. Which is how you'd get down from here, the door back was locked, and you don't know if your boots would stop you from becoming a broken mess of shattered bones and torn meat on the ground below. You sigh heavily as you get up and begin to think about your next course of action

You knock on the metal door, and get no response, as expected, really. You sit back down, holding your head in your hands, remembering how you managed to get up here. You were testing your boots out, jumping on gradually higher and higher things, and next thing you knew, you were up here, and haven't been able to get down for sometime, how long exactly you do not know, you may have taken a nap due to a combination of warm food and solitary silence.

You sigh heavily, and hear the door creak behind you.

You turn and see a boy holding a large coat over his shoulder, and with a rather impressive pompadour staring at you in confusion.

"Uhh" He says staring at you "Hi?"

"Hello" You say standing up.

"What are you doing up here?" He says "I mean this isn't really a popular place to have your lunch".

"I could ask you the same question" You say.

"I dislike crowds and eating with others" he says picking his teeth "Now why are you up here, and what's with the hoodie?"

"I was just thinking" you say walking past him "And it was a gift"

"Suuuuure" He says placing a brick to stop the door as you leave "well see you around cat ears". Ok that has to be the same person who picked you up, no two people would have such a silly hairstyle. You walk down the stairs, trying to ignore the peeling paint on the walls.

As you make your way down the dust covered stairs, a questions pounds away in your head. Why did he help you, he didn't know you, why did he help you back up, it makes no sense. You stop, turn around and begin making your way back up, followed by a soft clicking each time your heels touch the floor.

You throw open the door and see the boy eating a sandwich, while sitting on one of the guard rails, you notice he has the same boots as you used to get up here.

"Why did you help me?" you ask

"I don't know what you're talking about" he says with a coy smile

"Don't bullshit with me" You say glaring "Why did you help me up when I was running from the poisons teacher". He wipes his mouth with his sleeve, chewing.

"Seemed like the thing to do, ya know" He says "wouldn't have sat right with my conscious to leave ya there, ya know?"

"I guess" You say "But It doesn't make any sense why you would".

"I'm a nice guy" He says "and as I said, felt like the thing to do".

"I wouldn't have done the same" You say "She could've done you in if she saw you do it".

"Neither would most people here" He says with a tone of disgust "and what's the point in living if you run away from everything that can hurt you, ya know?"

"Ok that I can understand" You say smiling "life is boring without a bit of danger, now isn't it?"

"Not exactly what I meant, but I suppose that's right as well" He says turning away

The door swings open, you turn and see an agent, panting from running up the stairs

"Sure why not" You say smiling "Talk to you later pompadour guy".

"Later, cat ears" He says waving.

You follow the agent down the stairs and through the halls, all the way to building E, catching some rather strange looks.

You're lead into the back room, where you see Maria, holding what looks like some kind of high powered rifle. You duck instinctively. The man from last time you were here laughs.

"It's not like it's loaded" He says giggling.

"Can never be to safe around her" You say "nearly blown my head off twice, would have if she wasn't such a shitty shot".

"Yeah" Maria says smiling before realizing what you said "LAYLA!"

"Hey it's true" You say shrugging.

"Well I'll yell at you later" she says "Thanks for coming with me for this".

"So you finally got a taste for it then?" you ask.

"Oh no" She says " I just need to money to repay some....damages to school property and staff".

"What kind of damages?" You ask excitedly "depending on your answer I may be in love".

"Didn't know you two were a" The man says

"We aren't" You say "I just love destruction, specifically when it's on school grounds, like a fire at a dance, now that is something to love".

"As disturbing as ever then, Layla?" Maria says with a smirk

"So who're we going to kill tonight?" You ask. The man hands you the information.

A picture of a young looking man with a well groom goatee and a seductive look in his eyes, or rather a painting of the man. A small label reads, Thradrick Brausr, Count of a small region of....a....you can't quite make out what's written there.

Reward: a thousand dollars, which must have taken a while for the peasants of the place to gather for this contract.

Bonus obectives: find the missing daughters of the town of Brausrburge, Place Thradricks head on a pike

Secret objective hint: the cup runneth over with scarlet.

Misc. You'll be working together with a student of the guild of the twisted rose, one of our allies, so please play nice.

You look at what maria took for the mission, and see she has three items on the small metal table

the rifle from earlier
a large and brutish looking knife
and ragged cloak

"So why did you need help on this anyways?" you ask as you place the dossier on the table

"Well you see" She says "You're better at this kind of stuff, and even though I still think you shouldn't be going around killing people until you heal, I also don't feel safe going alone"

"But there's a assassin from the rose place coming as well" You say smirking "do you just want to kill people with me?"

"NO" she shouts "it's just that I know and trust you you, I don't know her".

"You trust me?" you ask "for all you know I could be poisoning your food when you're not looking, or something".

"Well you aren't" She says "are you?"

"I don't use guns" You say "to loud and prone to problems, like losing them"

"Shut up" Maria says looking at her feet.

"Ok, so you'll be taken to the meeting point before you're taken to the actual mission area" The guy says "So follow me, we have to take a boat"

"A what?" Maria asks.

"Oh how exciting" You say following the man "come on Maria".

You're lead to a small wooden boat on the beach, and after a wordless trip across the waves, A odd looking ship appears on the horizon. The man grabs some flags and begins waving them in the air.

Within minutes you're at the edge of the ship, and some people in lab coats help you up as the man from building e rows back towards the shore

There's a set of three chairs on the deck, sitting in one is a girl in what looks like modern leather armor, wearing the lower half of a white mask. Her hair is a similar shade to yours, but she wears it a lot shorter, and she's around the same height as Maria

"I thought you just liked the look of it" she says "what do you have syringes in your shoes as well?"

>>
>>35350966
Rifle shooting and pistol shooting are actually quite different. Besides, she's got a scope.
>>
>>35351022
If she can't hit a person with a pistol in front of her, she won't snipe anyone with a rifle either, scope or no. I'm willing to believe she could hit someone from a hundred meter away with scope and rifle, but sniping implies something a lot more long distance.

You seem to forget that she has this weapon for a reason.

"As much as I would love to leave the countryside a smoking crater, we need his head intact" You say "And while poison will work wonders, we have no idea the level of security the guy has, so we'll have to work together, gather information, maybe long range surveillance to be safe, need to find a way into his abode, which as much as I want to just walk in from the front door, I doubt we'd live long if we did". Maria and Val look at you wide eyed.

"What?" You ask

"I didn't think you'd be so" Val says "...prepared for this".

"Yeah, me to" Maria says "seeing as you like to run at your problems from what I've seen, but it's good to see you realize you aren't immortal"

"Oh I'm not going to be so careful" You say smiling "there's not fun in playing with loaded dice after all"

"I made a mistake bringing you didn't I?" Maria asks with a small smile

"Yes" You say "but hey, now if I die today, you can avenge me, isn't that nice".

"No" Maria mumbles

"So, the general plan is to gather information and be cautious" Val says "Seems rather basic, but the best idea we'll get from you two, we'll arrive in a few hours, I suggest you rest while you can". And with that she gets up and leave

"Hey Maria" You say kicking your feet "want to reenact the scene from titanic?".

"Which one?" She asks "The I'm flying one, if so then yes".

"No I mean the one with the door and the ocean" You say laughing "You'd make a great Dicaprio". She looks at you and shakes her head with a smile.

"I doubt there's a wooden door around here anyway" she says standing up and walking away "I'm going to steel my nerves and think, feel free to come with me". You stretch and stand up.

"Nah, I think I'll snoop around a bit" You say walking away "hopefully I don't find something horrible". Maria shrugs and walks away. You search the ship, sneaking around and at one point imagining what it would be like to be a spy instead of an assassin, all the while avoiding the eyes of the people in lab coats.

You find yourself in the hold and notice a lot of metal boxes, most of them cold, but ontop of a box, like an offering to a god, is five bullets
with a strange appearance. there's some kind of orange liquid in them in they look like they're used for a rifle. you pocket them, in case Maria runs out or something

You get bored or wandering around and sit up on the deck, watching the clouds float by as the sky turns from blue, to a near black grey

"We're nearing shore!!" A woman's voice shouts over the intercom "Prepare a rowboat"

You notice Val sitting in a chair sipping from something, and Maria appears from a door, rubbing her eyes

You all load into a small boat with a motor, and head off, the sea smells of dead fish over here and is a foreboding, sickly grey

You look around., taking in your surroundings.

You notice that the coast is covered with cliffs from what you can see, this being a small alcove with a small, worn down pier with one wooden ship rocking on the small waves of the ocean. there's the remains of a much larger ship nearby. Fish are rotting on the ground, decaying as birds pick at them. You cover your nose to avoid the stench. Maria doesn't seem to notice, and neither does Val

The cottage on the edge of the cliff, is a bit larger than Ms stones house/room. it has a straw roof, and is made from stone
there is a clothes line with enough clothes for one person.

There is one path out of the beach, up the cliff. It's made out of wood, rotten looking.

You can see smoke on the horizon.

"Ok, ready to head out" Val says "Operation begins now"

"Hmm" Maria says "right now, can't we prepare or something".

"The assassination will begin shortly" Val says "We must gather information".

"Oh thank god" Maria says happily "I'm not ready to, you know"

"You call yourself an assassin?" She asks

"No" Maria answers

"Oh come on now" You say "You killed, what two assassins in training that one time".

You reach into the pocket of your sweat pants and pull free the strange bullets, trying you best to hide them from Val.

"Hey Maria" You whisper close to your roommate "Take these, for good luck". You basically force them into her hand, winking as you walk away, watching to make sure Val didn't see the transaction.

"We should get off this place before anyone sees us" You say.

"Who would see us down here?" Maria asks following you towards the stairs

"You'd be surprised" Val say as she cautiously puts a foot down on a step, causing it to creek loudly.

"Why didn't we just get airdropped closer?" Maria asks sheepishly "Instead of having to walk up this rickety thing?

"Too much attention to be drawn" Val says quickly

"And besides" You say "you need the exercise".

"Y.yeah I do" She says with a weak laugh as she grips a rail, which falls off with a weak and impotent wet sounding crack.

"Ok, don't hold on the sides" You say "don't want you falling off now". Maria nods and follows close behind you, almost grabbing your back as she shakily makes her way up.

At the top you can see this place looks like the setting of a bad horror movie

"Not really, and that's the fun part isn't it?" You say "and besides, it's not like verevolves and vampires are real". You hear Val chuckle, which makes Maria whine while looking at you.

You walk into the village, ignoring the protests of Val and Maria clinging on your arm shivering like a small dog.

You listen into some of the conversations, you can't understand whatever they're saying, they turn towards you and still speak not english.

"Vut is that you vearing?" A man with a large mustache asks

"A hoodie" You reply.

"Yes ve have those here" he says "but...the ears"

"It was a gift, from a friend" You say as maria hides behind you "Oh come on he isn't that scary, I mean the large dog next to him is, but still".

"Yes, you friend is right, I am not scary" he says "and neither is Vallus, aren't you Vallus, you're a big ol rug of kindness aren't you". The dog sniffs Maria, causing her to whimper slightly, which makes it lick her face.

You put a hand on Wallus and pet softly, causing the dog to flop down panting.

"See, not at all scary" The man says smiling "a real push over really". Maria nods, but says nothing

"So, there was cottage outside of the town" You say "what's the deal with that".

"Why are you asking?" he says closing one eye "and I know you aren't from around anywhere near here".

"Me and my friend are on a trip through Europe" You say "And I'm interested in creepy cottages"

"Only two of you, surely you have some kind of guardian with you no, it isn't safe for young girls to be here alone" He says.

"There's another outside, she's taking pictures of birds" You say smiling "And what do you mean by that?"

"Nothing" he says taking off his round almost bag like hat and begins scratching his what remains of his hair "And old Villhem lives there alone, since the tragic passing of his daughter, crazy old man says our ....kind count was the cause, but it was simple sickness, a tragedy, but not a m murder". You can see anger in the man's eyes, burning softly behind pain.

"Any stores around here?" You ask.

"Well thanks for the chat" You say "I need to make sure my other friend isn't being weird" the man nods.

"Well just stay safe, and find shelter before dark" He says tottering off with Wallus following close behind "and enjoy your stay and Brausrburge".

"I will" You say waving a hand as you turn around and walk towards the edge of town "and Maria, I didn't know you were scared of dogs".

"I'm not, that just wasn't a dog" she says.

"Oh if Wallus could hear you right now he'd cry" You say. Maria shakes head

"Though I don't trust his owner much" You say

"Is it because he looks like bear pretending to be human?" she asks

"No, it's the mustache" You say "anyone with that much facial hair has to be hiding something". Maria giggles.

"Yeah, it looked like all the hair on his head went to his lip" she says.

"Hey that's rude" You say with a large smile "and probably true" .

You find Val looking at the sky.

"What are you doing?" Maria asks.

"Watching birds, I thought I'd leave the talking to you two" She says "not a people person".

"I can see" you say. Val nods.

"So what did you find?" she asks,

"Well Maria has a fear of dogs" You say "and the owner of the cottage lost his daughter recently".

You knock on the seaworn door. You hear what sounds like cursing, and the door swings open. And a pitchfork is pushed an inch from your face.

"BEGONE DEMONS" An old man who looks like her was made out of twigs and stick with a beard touching the floor, shouts "I can see you for vat you are, blood thirsty heathens from hell itself". Maria is staring at him, with a strange look in her eye.

"You know, you are the second person this month to call me that" You say pushing the pitchfork down with your hand "I just want to know about your daughter".

"She's dead, killed by your kin of the night" he says sadly, pointing the pitchfork at your face again "Now leave me before I send you back to your fetid den, beast".

"She isn't a demon" Maria says in a strangly harsh tone"We are here to kill Thradrick Brausr, tell us about your daughter, and quickly lest you try my patience". The man looks at her.

"Two little sheep to the volves den?" He says sadly "Run off little sheep, this is no place for you".

"Yes it is" Val chimes in, finally arriving here "As my associate said, we are here to kill that "Man". The old man throws his arms dramatically

"Oh voe is me, three girls playing knights charging to there doom" He sobs "Come in and I shall heed your last vish". And with that the crazy old man walks back into the cottage. You follow, Maria taking an oddly time to come in, looking a tad tazed.

The man is sitting at a table with two chairs, a plate of rotting food in front of one chair, you can't tell what it used to be

"Who?" Val and Maria ask

GM, this is not how you do "character development" and when it comes to the main character, personality rewrites out of nowhere are a pretty terrible thing to do.

She doesn't really give a single fuck, she's saying it's kind of fucked up partially to try and make Maria stop hounding her about thinking about mostly killing things

>>35357218
Do you wish to use your lucky coin?
>>
>>35357288
That makes sense, but the writing could've been clearer on that front.
>>
>>35357288
That should be made clear in the text then, since we had other line already before about her showing a vestige of thes things with
>also feel something else everytime you see her tear stained face, a feeling you can't quite place, a feeling of.....remembering something, perhaps

>>35357310
Yeah no, We're cool.
>>

Are high rolls bad in this quest?
>>
>>35357321
>>35357334
I wasn't thinking much at the time, I'll be more clear when Layla is bullshiting in the future
>>
>>35357364
High rolls are fine. Lucky coin makes any roll into a crit, and it turns a crit into a supercrit.

Trouble is most of the time a supercrit isn't worth a coin.

So we just save them for averting disaster or doing ridiculous untrained shit.
>>
>>35357407
>doing ridiculous untrained shit
Mostly in the event that this would actually be mission-critical.
>>
>>35357407
Well would a super crit make the count walk through the gate as we did? Or mean they opened all the doors of the castle because why the hell not?

Has a supercrit ever been used? Sorry new to the quest. Don't have time to archive binge.
>>
>>35357432
We have only ever once used a lucky coin, which was to avert complete failure, so we don't really have a dimension for what a super crit does.
>>
>>35357432
This is only our second coin, and the first saved us from a terrible situation so we're really loathe to use this second one outside of a life or death situation.
>>
>>35357432
We haven't supercritted yet. If it gets us all the way to the count it might be worth a coin, but I'd rather save coins so that we could actually have more than one for once. If it seems like we can do it without a coin, spending a coin is usually a bad option.

Last coin was spent on averting disaster when we had shit rolls on poisoning the yakuza boss. Autocrit made it a clean success instead of the highly probable death otherwise.
>>
>>35357453
>>35357466
Understood.
>>
>>35357480
In theory it might be possible that we get a situation where we would need a super crit to succeed at all. Someone trying to poison Layla would probably need one for example, that might also work the other way, but we don't know.
>>
>>35357432
>Has a supercrit ever been used?
We've only had one other crit so far I think, and that's when we were sucker punching someone in close quarters combat class. GM offered us a coin option but we declined because that seemed like a phenomenal waste.

"Follow me" You say "I have a fun little idea". You slowly walk up to the path to the castle, noticing it is a dark shade of grey than the rest of the stone buildings around here. You see the front gate is heavily guarded by men dressed like two bit knights, wielding two bit rifles.

There are some bushes nearby, which you lead Maria and Val into

"Layla" Maria says "what are you doing".

"Watch" You say, before putting on a the poor accent from earlier "VOLVES VOLVES VOLVES HELP HELP!!!". the guards scream something in whatever langauge they speak and run off.

"I didn't think that would work" You say laughing at the aghast faces of Maria and Val "well lets go"

"What is she?" you hear Val ask as you practically skip towards the gate

"A bit crazy" Maria says "You get used to it in a few days". You shake the gate, locked, but you find they left there keys. You don't show the others

"We should go around, they'll be back any" Val begins as you unlock the gate

"Wa la" You say bowing as Val glares at you.

"There's a reason we're called the guild of the lucky coin" Maria says smugly with a giggle

"Val, Anyway in?" You ask, looking at the large wooden door with handles that look like small decapitated heads covered in gold

"Well there's the front door you are fucking with your eyes" She says calmly "A couple of windows, a sewer system, and various side doors".

"I think we should stay as far away from the sewer as possible" Maria says.

"Seems like a plan" You say

"But it's the most efficient way to get in" Val says angrily "Every other way would likley end with our capture and death"

"Two votes against one" Maria says happily jumping up and down.

"So what do you suggest?" Val asks angrily

"Side doors" Maria said "he can't have all of them under lock and key, and it's far more pleasant way in than trudging through waste"

"Sewers" You say Smiling like the devil himself

"Thanks for agreeing with me" Maria says before her ears catch up with her brain "WAIT WHAT, WHY?!" She grabs you buy your hoodie

"Because I knew your reaction would be hilarious, And look at this way, there would be no sewers in the forest". Maria glares at you

"Show the way then, Val" you say, she nods and leads you to a grate hidden in a corner. She lifts it with a strange metal bar thing

"So who wants to have the honors" She says covering her nose

"I will" You say taking off your hoodie, and jamming it into your back pack that you then hand to Maria to hold "See you on the otherside". Maria nods at you as you leap down.

You shriek in shock at how warm and liquid it is, before realizing that it doesn't smell that shitty down here, and in fact smells like copper

"Blood?" You say look at the red river you're standing in, it's to thin to be just blood, must have something in it to stop it from coagulating.

"Are you serious right now?" Maria says sounding like a kicked puppy "Do you think it's"

"No I don't think it belongs to the girls" You say "to much of it, maybe animals blood or something". Val jumps in with a splash

"Hurry" she says wading off "don't want to catch something".

You grab the grate, with some help (Maria and Val grabbing your legs and boosting you up) manage to move it aside and scramble up. You look up from the cold and filthy ground and see a silahoutte, with arms outstretched, move to dodge from being grabbed

and then realize that it isn't moving, you look around and gasp, in a mixture of admiration and fear. The room is filled with dead bodies, all women around your age, tied to the ceiling via chains wrapped around there bodies, there arms outstretched, their necks and wrists slitted. There are empty but stained bowls under them, used for collecting blood.
There are some stairs in the corner
and torches light the room

"Uhhh, holy fucking shit" You say laughing nervously.

"What?" Maria ask sound concerned,

"Ve are dealing vith and vampire" You laugh "or someone who thinks they're one".

You help Val up and she begins inspecting the bodies, putting needles into them and tapping her chin

You pull Maria up and the second she sees the sight of the drained corpses her eyes turn empty and blank again. Maria is acting odd again

"Why did they use so many chains?" You ask looking at the cocoons of metal hanging from the ceiling.

"Yeah" "Maria" Says "it's should only take four at max to keep them in place, this isn't normal".

"Yeah, it's like they didn't want them moving around or something" You say "Maybe Brausr has a heavy bondage fetish or something"

"Maybe" She says nodding "Maybe he did it to look intimidating and terrifying".

"Well if that's so" You say Smiling "He failed, terribly".

"Yep" She says in that weird monotone.

You set down your pack, giggling madly as you pull out several bottles and syringes.
Items gained
3 pottassium overdoses
3 paralytic injections
3 shots of morphine
3 dose of muscle relaxant

"Ok ready to go" You say placing the last syringe in place. And then you notice you're alone

"They" you say "left me, oh what fun what fun". You grab your bottle of mace and put it in you pouch pocket as you race up the stairs, hoping to not find them, so you can savor this rush.

You end up in a hallway, covered in torches and paintings of grim looking depressed people, as well as a pastel blue rug with images of dancing pigs on it, how interesting. You keep walking humming to yourself as you walk along, looking at suits of broken armor and weaponry put on display, all covered in very old blood. You find yourself in the main hall

the floor is marble, there is a large green rug in the center, a double stair case leads to the different wings, a chandelier swings back and forth. And you hear voices coming closer.

You crouch down and leap, flying through the air like some kind of bird, or a character from the shows Maria watches. You grab a hold of the chandelier and somehow don't pull it down as you pull yourself and sit down on it, smiling like the cheshire cat, oh if only your teeth were sharper, may need to get a file and fix that really. You watch as a girl in a dirty T Shirt and one of the guards stumbled around singing drunkenly, You begin giggling at the sight of them, causing them to look around, So you giggle louder and more child like. The begin to rush across, looking around as they do, looking for the source of the laughter as you feel a warmth rise in your chest as they nearly stumble over themselves while you sit up here. They leave, leaving you alone, with your giggles echoing. Do you really sound like that? How odd,, doesn't sound like you

It usually helps to accept that the pain is there too.

Pain is your body's way of telling you "this shit's fucked up yo" so when you focus on your pain and tell your body "thanks I got the message" the message gets a little less loud.

I've had fillings done by dentists where I had to do this because for some reason I am nearly immune to anesthesia. Works though. Pain doesn't go away, but it makes the difference between intolerable pain and tolerable pain.
>>

You inject yourself with a bit of morphine, just a little. And then focus on the pain and imagine it flowing away. After a few minutes it leaves, though it may be the morphine kicking in, or your head realizing you don't need the pain at the moment you can't tell. You look around, feeling a bit floaty. You can see more grim and depressing portraits of the same guy, always look so sour. You Stand up, rubbing your head as you look over the edge, you'd guess you're on the third floor from the height your at, you think, not good with estimation really.

You open a door, deciding to look for your friends or maybe the vampire guy, Oh it would be awesome to be a vampire, when you think about it, you always wear a hoodie, so the sun isn't a problem, and Maria would freak out so wonderfully .

The room is filled with various devices of torture, two of which you notice instantly
a brazen bull and an iron maiden
as well as some of the stretching things, and some pointy and rusted forks and prods and serrated knives covered in dried blood . You wish you could take a picture, really. You close the door and turn to continue your search for something

You walk up to the shadowy figure of Maria, who looks like she's cuddling the rifle.

"Hello" You say "How you've been, you left me, no hard feelings really". She shrieks slightly, before calming down.

"Oh it's just you" She says panting "So where is Val".

"You killed her" You say with a shrug and smug smile "just kidding, I don't know, you two left me for a while, so I played ghost a while and got bored, you?"

"I..don't know" She says scratching her head "So Maria went with Val, and then we got separated at some point".

"I guess" you say walking along "Now lets find this vampire, I wish to have parlay with him".

"He isn't a vampire, Layla" She says angrily "They....aren't real, they aren't real".

"Keep telling yourself that" You say smiling "though you have to wonder about all of those chains on those dead girls, almost like they were being stopped from breaking out, ya know?". Maria shudders and whimpers.

"Stop that" She says "it's already bad enough".

"But it's so fun" You say tilting your head side to side, "and besides, what else am I to do to pass the time until I get to kill a vampire".

"He isn't a vampire" She whines. You are glad you came along

Who cares about Val, you're sure she'll be fine, and if not well you'll hold a funeral at sea. Or you'll find both at the same time, that would be interesting

"Say Maria" You say "can't vampire hypnotize people?".

"Shut up" she says quietly "please"

"Ok, just wondering" You say "because it would suck something fierce if Val is hypnotized or dead".

"He isn't a vampire" She says as you sneak past a guard sleeping in a chair. You walk up flights of stairs and through halls, past guards and progressively dark and disturbing furniture choices, some of which look to be made out of people. The walls are slick and the portraits are gaunt and pale. and the carpet is all stained, how disgusting

"Know any vampire songs?" You ask.

"Shut" Maria says with tears in her eyes "Up, please"

"Fine, just trying to lighten the mood" You say as you creep past two more guards, who look rather dead in the eyes and flesh yet still walking, causing Maria to gag and whine in fear.

There is a metal door in front of you, slick with gore and warm to touch as well as internally carved with images ivy vines and boars

Vampires have a lot of shitty weaknesses.

That's just gonna be fucking awful.

You throw open the doors and

"Woah" you say in awe of the room before you, skeletons in armor thrown around with great tears in there armor, red stained steel covering the walls, and a simple wooden chair with a ragged looking man and Val sitting on it.

"Impressed young killer?" the ragged man asks standing, Val holding onto his leg like a member of a harem "So they sent children to free me from my eternal torment, how disappointing, maybe if I cut you down they'll send more fitting slayers to end me".

"So are you a vampire?" You ask walking forward as Maria goes strangely quite again "Curious, you see, just curious". He walks forwards, his ragged and stained cloak fluttering in wind that isn't there. He smiles

"Oh you love what you do don't you" He says "and the other hates it let has no qualms about it, such corrupted youths, and so young, how depressing".

"You're a real kill joy of a vampire you know that?" You say.

"Most would've screamed by now" he says "but you haven't, tell me, what do you truly seek here, I am harming no one, besides some peasants who never live to begin with"

"Well to kill you" You say "To help my friend Maria here, since it was her job and all and she need a bit of help".

"DO you really believe you can kill what is already dead?" he asks walking closer.

"Yes, Poison solve all problems" You say "and if it doesn't well, I have other plans with how to deal with you". The ragged man smiles.

"That bloodlust" He says licking his lips "So refreshing, well then, come, young killers STRIKE ME DOWN". And with that he throws him arms out, waiting for the first strike

You decide to play along, walking along like a zombie towards the burning man, who's missing half of his face. He laughs as you slowly get closer as he moves his charred finger back and forth. He reach towards you, opening his mouth wide, give you a nice toothy smile, one which you mirror happily as you grab and jab three injections into his neck

He howlers and slaps you away as he tears them out. You laugh weakly as you stand back up, tear rolling down your face as you watch him move towards you, his remaining eye shining a near blinding red. He's moving even slower now

"Insolent" He growls, his teeth full of fangs "worm".

"Hey you wanted to die" You say "I'm just helping, be greatfull you burning cunt".

"I'll tear your head off" he says "with my teeth".

"Bring it on darling" You shout arms spread out wide.

>>
>>35361074
And until Hitachi started making their Blue and Super Blue range of tool steels, you would not find a steel able to handle that in that blade profile.

Does not matter whether you have a refinery or not, if the steel is shit, the steel is shit, and early WW2 made katana's brought back from China were blades that had very impure steel, the wavy lines in them that look cool? A sign of impurities in the metal.

When layering steel like that, if you use good steel and do it properly, you cannot tell where the seams are.

Stop talking out your arse.

"Stay down" He growls with the voice of a thousand as you hop up, a stream of blood flowing past your right eye.

"Is that all you got, count?" you ask spitting on the ground "Pathetic". You hurt, bad. But he's getting sloppy, and is breathing heavily.

He stops moving, and so do you. he's tracking you by sound. You grab your marbles and make a break for it, tossing them behind you as you grab the rifle, you hear a ungodly roar behind you as you feel his fangs start to reach for your neck. He stumbles for a moment, you grab the gun with an effort, turn, and pull the trigger. You're sent flying back. Your ears ringing from the almighty boom

You see the vampire a foot or two away, a smoking hole in his chest the size of a basketball, not looking so scary anymore, almost like a scared child really
and then he smiles and begins to laugh

"You" He says "in all my years of life I've never known one like you, One who could face down the devil and laugh, you reminded me off myself before I chose to damn myself, except already insane".

"Still alive" You say nursing your arm "well aren't you a tough bastard Thradrick" He laughs.

"I can say the same to you" He says "A clever little rat, who killed the cat, now that is wonderful, but I have one last request of you, rat, before I pass on to my finale reward, be it good or ill, Take my blood, you've earned the right of my legacy, do it young killer, become the wolf among sheep, become the hunter of men".

You smile as you look at the pathetic charred thing before it, and ponder what you should do

What do you do
[] spit on him
[] drink some of his blood(you will become a vampire, no way to go back0
[] fill a chalice with it (Turn one character into a vampire, may fuck you over, cannot turn them back)
[] Finish him off with on last almighty bang

I sense a shitstorm a brewing

And to answer some pressing question
you'd keep your ungodly resistant to poisons
The longer you go without blood the more the sun hurts (one day is stinging pain)
You may go feral in combat if you get injured
crossing water is a problem, but you can swim if you've drank recently
Senses increases*gets better the more people you drain*
strength increases the more powerful blood you consume

You grab a chalice, resting on near his chair, Val is on the ground moaning, in pain perhaps. Maria is passed out soundly. You place the chalice next to his throat, and watch as he uses what his awesome strength across it, tearing it like paper. dark red, near black blood flows into it and stands still
The charred corpse stands up nods at you, grabs the rifle, places it to his breast, and fires.
He crumples down to the ground, still smiling. a heavy sighed follows as he vanishes into naught but a memory and a charred corpse

You go an help Maria up

"What the hell happened?" Val asks sleepily

"Me and Maria killed a vampire" You say ignoring the massive ammount of pain of possible broken bones within you

"Did you touch his blood?!" she shouts

"No" you say "thought about it, realized I should fuck around with it before wasting it all on something as pointless as being able to turn into a bat or something"

"Good" She says "I'll call the extraction, don't drink that blood if you value your humanity"

"Don't care" You say sitting down "Just get me some nice medicine so i can forget about my arm being used as a chew toy"

mission complete
Bonus objectives complete: find out what happend to the girls: ownership of his manor or the burnt out husk . mount his head on a pike: Complete post mission by several townsfolk cheering on the 'heroes': A large bottle of strong vodka

Overall I think we should wait and see with the whole vampire thing. At the moment I don't think it would benefit her enough, but the cons aren't that crippling depending on how steady a blood supply we can get.

Becoming a vampire isn't going to win, we have moved on to the benefits of using the blood for secondary purposes. Let it rest.

You get back to the boat, and promptly pass out from massive ammount internal bleeding. When you come to, you're one a bed, not in the infirmary. Surrounded by some rather surprised men in lab coats, who appear to be putting your arm back together. One of them faints.
They give you some strange tasting stuff and you feel your body burn and twist and renitt itself in a horrible process not much unlike a fever dream

. You vaguely recall being dragged on shore by Maria. Waking up in a bed, and falling a sleep several times.

A few days later
"Vampires aren't real my ass" You say laughing through the pain "I killed one, and have a chalice of it's blood in front of me". Maria shakes her head as she places your arm back on the rest to stop it.

"I said I was fine Maria" You say smiling "You don't need to pamper me like this".

"If I leave you alone you'll drink the blood" She says

"No I won't" You say "I have other uses for it, like turning other people into vampires, or using it for poisons, fun stuff"

"Right, now why don't you go back to gloating about how you killed a vampire, for the thousand time" she says.

"Hey I nearly died, I deserve to be able to gloat about it" You say looking away

"You're always almost getting yourself killed" She says "Now open wide and eat your soup"

Imagine waking up one night and feeling something pressing down on your chest. You look down and see THAT GIRL sitting on top of you. You try to scream, you try to move, you try to throw her off, but you're completely paralyzed.
She just smiles down at you as she brings out a knife and makes a series of small cuts in your skin before producing a small plastic bottle that reeks of gasoline. She wordlessly pours it down over you igniting your wounds in tremendous pain even without any fire. She makes sure to drench you head to toe before retreating to the door and looking back at you, twirling a lighter in one hand. "Will you be a good boy from now on?" She asks before walking out.

It takes several sleepless hours before you regain the ability to move. You rush to the bathroom to clean off the gasoline, but you freeze when you see your reflection in the mirror.
The little whore carved the words "Layla's Bitch" into your chest.

The vampire opponent was fine, you don't need to hold back on supernatural critters showing up. The transformation thing on the spot is what fucked it up. There is no such thing as solo missions, you can go solo or as team on missions, and all things considered, going as team is better as long as Layla picks the missions.

Nah. Team missions can be more unwieldy, much smaller slice of the reward, and people expect you to return the favor for their missions.

Solo gives consistent benefits.

If we do missions for others, then they should owe us, because the mission itself isn't rewarding enough.

>>35363233
So that means draging maybe Maria along for our next mission.
>>
>>35363233
I'm not suggesting doing missions for others. I'm suggesting doing missions together with Maria. Since we don't really need the money anyway and do it mostly for fun. And I want to keep pressuring Maria into finally killing someone.

Of course missions with others like Alex aren't completly out, just rarer.
>>
>>35363243
No. We should probably leave that hanging over her head because she is bossy as fuck.
>>
>>35363259
And there we hit 1000
>>
>>35363259
Her bossiness beginns and ends with out lack of self-preservation, which isn't exactly terrible of her and we won't get her to stop doing that.
>>
>>35363263
Wooooo hooo
>>
>>35363266
Her bossiness goes a bit beyond that.

It's better to have leverage over her.
>>
>>35363254
What will happen first: Layla geniunely careing about the people around her, or them becoming ruthless killers?
>>
>>35363254
We need the coins, at least.

They are lifesavers. Joint risks are shit anyway.
>>
>>35363277
Hopefully them becoming ruthless killers.
>>
>>35363277
I expect those two events to coincide. Clearly Layla can only like someone who is fun and interesting like her.

>>35363283
If we pick the mission, we get the coin too.

>>35363272
I don't think "Maria" gives a shit about leverage.+And Maria is a pushover by herself.
>>
>>35363289
Regular Maria is entirely too bossy by herself.

As for "Maria", well, we need to get good enough to force her to accept she can't control us.
>>
>>35363313
I sure wouldn't mind "Maria" controlling Layla
>>
>>35363289
>If we pick the mission, we get the coin too.
And if we solo the mission, we get twice the rewards and Maria has less excuse to drag us on one of her stupid missions.
>>
>>35363313
But I'm eager to see her "control" Layla
>>
>>35363289
Trouble is that having her go on one of our missions can "square" it with Maria and then she'll come up with more nonsense for us to come along on.

I'm done with that.
>>
>>35363339
We only get twice the money, whith which we can't really do much anyway. The mission is easier for us alone, and Maria only goes on missions for the money anyway so she won't drag us to any if we bring her to ours.

>>35363355
She had no way of knowing that this mission was more than expected, you can give her shit for her bossing us around but not for the target to turn out to be a vampire.
>>
>>35363345
>>35363323
Well then write it
>>
>>35363371
Can't write for shit. I'll leave stuff like that for you and the other writefags.

Great thread OP. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thanks for sticking it out this late
>>
>>35363371
I might at some point, I still wouldn't really now how to do Laylas reaction to that. She probably wouldn't mind being sub, but on the other hand she doesn't seem to care much about this stuff.
>>
>>35363390
Thank you for playing
see you Wednesday
>>
>>35363391
I'd imagine her playing a rebelious sub.
>>
>>35363401
or a spoiled sub later in, yeah, but still no idea how she would react to the initial "attack", and I hate inconsistent characterisation. Yes, even in my smut.
>>
>>35363413
think about how she's reacted to everyother lewd thing she's come across
>>
>>35363420
Outwardly cheerful with little actual glee?
>>
>>35363442
More shy, embarrassed and bashful
>>
>>35363366
Her awareness is not the issue. Missions that can cost us coins for chump change is. These are the missions that get us killed. If not in that mission, then in the next when we botch without a coin. The vampire blood better pay off.
>>
>>35363442
She reacted to Marias games with emberassment and furious blushing, so its not going to be a lot of glee initially, but on the other hand, she is a pretty cheefrul person and "fun things are fun" is pretty much her motto.
Not sure if I want to make it a reluctant or a rape thing ...
>>
>>35363401
Layla would be "topping from the bottom" as they say.
>>
>>35363456
We have no idea which mission costs us a coin until we actually go through the mission.

WHAT A SHITSTORM
>>
>>35363465
Definitely how I see her.

Though I wouldn't mind someone writing smut of Layla having her way with someone she used muscle relacants on.
>>
>>35363486
That would definitly be the sequel
>>
>>35363471
Any mission that isn't ours will certainly not *give* us a coin. And these team missions can clearly be stupidly risky.
>>
>>35363500
I don't know what you are talking about, I have been very clear on it that our "team-ups" will from now on happen with us choosing the mission and Maria gets to accompany us. So we would always get the coin.
>>
>>35363483
And yet it was weirdly resolved

A good compromise does that.
>>
>>35363486
She would be to shy to do something. Maybe touch them with one hand while peering between the finger of her other hand
>>
>>35363525
You are forgetting the vodka
>>
>>35363534
That would result us having the face the colour of a supernova the next day
>>
>>35363012
>Well Maria blew out one of his eyes, stopping the mind control stuff

She only did that thanks to our coin. Not sure why she gets a coin for it.
>>
>>35363507
Except it's not a one-sided affair like you're imagining. We're better off staying away from this business.
>>
>>35363545
her mission.
And you got the blood of a supernatural creature
that can do a lot of shit
or be sold for a lot of shit (but I think this is a waste)
>>
>>35363544
Glorious isn't it? Think of the people she would kill to vent her embarassment.

>>35363564
Why should it be a one-sides affair ? Maria only goes on a mission because she needed the money, so if she gets half of the share everytime, she has no reason to go on her own, and we already are in a co-dependence sort of relationship with her since we live in the same room.

>>35363545
No, we evaded his first mind-control attempt thanks to the coin, Maria wasn't affected by it.
>>
>>35363525
She winds up only finding the courage to snuggle up on her victim, hugging them tightly as she sleeps.

>>35363534
>>35363544
I don't mind this
>>
>>35363570
And she really did a lot. With that coin we could just as easily have shot the vamp ourselves.

All the same, just goes to show that these missions aren't worth the risk unless the vamp blood somehow REALLY pays off.
>>
>>35363600
But they are FUN anon. Thats already worth a lot, there is only so much we can do running around at school, if we want to kill people, we need to go on missions anyway.
>>
>>35363610
Yeah, Layla would do this for free.
>>
>>35363623
Lets be honest, she'd pay to do this
>>
>>35363627
I love this character
>>
>>35363627
I just realised 15 hours dude...
>>
>>35363623
Getting ourselves killed isn't really part of the plan. We DO try to come out ahead you know.
>>
>>35363637
OP obviously has a lot of free time
>>
>>35363627
No she wouldn't.

Where would she get that money from?
>>
>>35363641
Well, we were here the entire time too.
>>
>>35363667
>I woke up to the quest, and am going to go to sleep as thread is pruned...
>>
>>35363667
I slept for 6 hours and went too my only class for the day while this thread was running.
>>
>>35363660
I can imagine it already. Layla working several months at your local grocery store to save up enough to spend it all on preparations and fees for a man-hunting safari. And then she's broke.
>>
>>35363697
And then she blows up the store.
>>
>>35363697
This is her life now, she is content.
>>
Do you think it'll be like Hellsing where we drink someone dry and suddenly we have their soul in us? Because that might get annoying.
>>
>>35363776
Now I imagine Layla having Maria in her head, just like Seras has Pip.
>>
>>35363776
I don't think its anything that complacted.

But she can't afford the C4 that would bankrupt her anon, she already spent that on the safari.
