(i'm still without my PC so I don't have the tools to edit the character sheet, but you now have 3 free XP, Mental 3 and 6 boxes of maximum Essence. You have 2/6 Essence and 3/5 Health)

It takes you a long time to find your way back up, and even longer to drag all the stuff you found up with you. It's not even just a matter of weight, but it's just difficult to carry.

You get rid of the strange foam used in the boxes to pack the suits of magical armor, and fill them with everything else you can jam in there: all the artifacts you found in the inner room that will fit, and as much mortal weapons and armor from the outer room as you can.

Then, you close the three boxes pounding the nails back in, tie the other artifact weapons behind your back in a clumsy bundle, and slowly make your way up to the passage that brought you here from the castle.

This overloaded, you feel a bit like the gift spirit of Calibration that will deliver presents to all good kids. Except that instead of dull gemstones, shiny trinkets, mechanical toys and hard candy, you're carrying enough weaponry to end a civilization.

You let that thought linger for a bit. Should you really be so excited about finding a bunch of weapons and instruments of murder? Is this really who you want to be?

Eh. Unfortunately you can't really afford to be picky about this. Tianna has a lot of problems that can be solved only with violence or the threat thereof. It's how the world works right now, and you can't change those rules.

For now.

You leave the Titan and clamber up the rough-hewn stone corridor, past the intersection with the tunnel leading to the volcano. You briefly consider it, but then discard the idea. How would you get to the top with all this stuff? You could ask Dancing Smoke to prop you up, but... she'd probably ask you where all this stuff comes from, and answering that question could be difficult and messy. Not to mention that it's probably better to get to Tianna immediately.

Travelling alone, this long, dark corridor feels even longer and darker, especially with all the weight you're carrying. But finally, you reach the secret door, set down all the boxes and stuff, and stare at it blankly.

How are you going to open this? It looks like just a natural rough-hewn stone wall, the end of the long corridor, but, of course, you know it has some kind of secret. You remember Amata asking you to close your eyes, and then... you felt a light, and a sense of movement. It was definitely something magical, not just a simple revolving door.

>Who are we?
Maka, an exiled noble Exalted as a Zenith-caste Solar. She was in the western city of Tianna as a guest of queen Amata, an old friend. Abyssals are targeting the city for conquest, Lintha pirates have infiltrated it with spies and agents, and the Realm is probably planning to get rid of you.
But things are also looking up. You have gathered a lot of allies and friends, have a powerful Manse under construction, and are unifying Tianna in a great nation under your overwhelming charisma.
You just discovered the reason everyone seems to be so interested in Tianna: an enormous magical fortress lies buried underground, a relic of the First Age with enough firepower to destroy anything...

>Solar? Zenith? I don't know Exalted...
This quest is as newbie-friendly as possible, and I want it to work as a newbie's intro to Exalted. If you have ANY question, ask in thread. For the setting, google "1d4chan exalted".

>Archive?
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Solar%20Quest

>System?
Dicepool-like system. When performing an action, everyone rolls 1d10 when posting. the first X rolls are considered, where X is equal to attribute + ability. Yes, this means that the more people are posting, the stronger Maka is, up to a limit of her attribute + ability.

>XP?
Attributes cost [current score x5] xp. Abilities cost [current score x3] xp, except Zenith costing [(current score x3) -1]. Charms cost 10 xp, except for Zenith-based charms (related to charisma and physical/mental fortitude) which cost 8 xp. At the end of every "session" (thread) you will be presented with a list of possible acquisitions.

Tablet.

You breathe in and scream.

"AMATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Breathe.

"I'M HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEREEEEEEEEEE!"

Breathe.

"LET ME OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUT!"

A brilliant flash of light sears your eyes and makes your third scream end in an inarticulate "wargbllrblrghbll" as you slam your hands on them.

You're stunned for a few minutes, after which you find yourself, once more, in the familiar castle of Tianna. In Irene's workshop.

Amata's there, standing in front of you, with a disdainful look on her face. You realize you're fallen down and are sitting on the ground.

She offers you a hand and a help to get up. "You know, secret passages are supposed to be secret. But it's alright, scream all you want, it's not like people will hear your goddamn super loud voice." She sighs.

"...I see you've found some goodies." She then adds, noticing the bunch of stuff and the three boxes.

>Discuss what you've retrieved from the Titan
>Discuss the strategic and political implications of the Titan buried under Tianna
>Discuss your visions of the First Age
>Ask her a question (what?)
>Ask her what you missed
>Leave

Also, a note: even if you intend to eventually use all those conversation choices, don't just vote for ALL of them. Pick the one you want to have next. Maybe pick 2 if you really can't decide or think they can be talked about together. But don't just vote for five different things.

"I managed to break in a sealed-off section of the Titan and find some stuff." You inform her, not without some pride.

"That's impressive." She nods. "I thought I and Irene had plundered everything. And you found some personal weapons, that's rare. We found almost none."

"You think someone cleaned it up before you?"

She nods. "Probably a long time ago. Left behind only whatever was literally bolted to the ground, or in sealed rooms."

"Mom? Is that y- MAKA!" From the door leading upstairs to the ground level of the castle, Irene's head pops up and immediately lights up in a smile. She's in her work clothes, with casual wear, a blacksmith's apron, and a belt full of tools. "AND STUFF! -wait." She suddenly frowns. "...Wait, what? Mom, you... you told Maka about the... the thing?"

She sighs with a knowing smile. "Well, we were at the point where it would've done more harm to keep her in the dark. But this just means it's a secret for us three rather than two."

You're somewhat surprised by that. "Not even Samiel knows?"

Amata shakes her head. "No. He knows the weapons come from a cache underground, but he doesn't know the details."

This woman is scary.

The three of you, like conspirators, lock the workshop's door, and, under Irene's aroused gaze, lay out the loot on the floor and clean it up from all ther dust and cobwebs.

"This is Solar stuff." Irene states the obvious. "it's friggen enormous. You could use it as a surfboard."

You blink. "What's a surfboard?"

"...Oh, right, you're from the South. Mhh... maybe someday I'll show you." She prods the giant slab of golden metal. "I've never seen you using a sword, actually."

"I prefer martial arts." You reply, even if calling your undisciplined punching and kicking "martial arts" might be a bit too much. Still, it worked this far.

>We should keep this somewhere safe. Maybe someday we, or someone, will need an Orichalcum Grand Daiklave.

Exhibits B, C and D: White Jade Daiklave, Green Jade Powerbow, Red Jade Direlance.

You scratch your chin thoughtfully. "Let's keep the big sword safe. I can't use it - I mean, I COULD, but I'd rather not. Just lock it down somewhere."

Amata nods. "I'll handle that."

"As for the jade weapons, I'll ghand the bow to Zareen, and you have the rest. Sounds alright?"

"Do you trust her so much already?" Amata seems still a bit suspicious.

"I don't think she's going to run away with the loot, if that's what you mean. If anything, I think that gifting her with such a powerful weapon is going to be an even bigger incentive to her loyalty."

She smiles. "You're starting to think like a queen should." She seems pleased.

"And I'd love to see you in the cloak." You grin.

Amata rolls her eyes playfully. "You mean the cloak, or you mean the cloak and nothing else."

"I had this idea in my head of adapting it to a short dress."

"Since when you're my stylist?" She bickers back at you.

"It's going to be hard adapting this to anything else." Irene tries to be sensible. "The precision of the work is... way too much for what we can do here. There's no way we can open and seal back those rings in a different pattern. best I can do is just cut a part out and that's it. It would work, but it would also be a waste of material."

"Besides, it's not like I don't already have some clothes like that, or worse." Amata whispers. "Did you forget whose wardrobe that tabard came out of in the first place?"

Irene shivers. "That thought is kind of embarassing."

"It's embarassing for me to do it, but not for Maka?" She wonders.

"Well, Maka is Maka." The daughter replies, unconvincingly.

Amata frowns in response. "Well, whatever. I've kind of grown out of those clothes... but I could still wear them just for you~"

"Can we focus on the artifacts for now?" Irene tries to steer the conversation to exhibit F: the flamepiece. As soon as she opens the box, she falls silent.

"It's.... It's... It's A PLASMA-TONGUE REPEATER!" She exclaims with half-broken voice, clearly overwhelmed by emotion. "Five-shots revolver chamber, loaded with..." She clumsily flips the weapon open, her hands shaking. "...Elerium-nitrate alchemist's fire technomotonic cartridges with a lightning-stone primer module..." She takes one of the little cylinders out and brings it closer to her eye. "...twelve point seven calibre, looks like. This. This is amazing. It's the first time I actually see one of these. I thought they were just legend."

With still-shaky hands, she puts the cartridge back inside the weapon and closes it. She looks like she's on the verge of tears.

Her enthusiasm is overhwlming.

"Uh, do you want it?" You ask her.

The way she looks back at you makes it clear she WILL cry if you so much as think of tearing her away from it.

"...Can you actually make more ammo for it?"

"Probably." She breaks the weapon open and extracts one of its cartridges again. It's a metallic cylinder, apparently made from brass, bronze or copper, a bit more than a centimetre thick and about six long. It's open at both ends, revealing it to be packed with a reddish-white substance. "It uses a derivate of firedust, of which I have a decent supply. It uses some other materials to "fix" the dust and alter some of its proprieties and reactions. I have the formulas in my books, but without having something to compare them with..." She slams the cartridge back in. "But now, I'll just need to take some of these apart and study them a bit. I think we can make more. maybe not using the same identical formula, but something close enough. It might even help me develop better ammo for our conventional firewands."

"How about making another gun like it?"

"That..." She hesitates. "That might take longer. I don't know. I'll try."

You nod. "So... you want this AND the daiklave? You're awfully greedy." You joke.

"Oh, you can have the Daiklave." Absolutely no hesitation.

"Uh, I wouldn't even use it. It was just a joke."

You move on to exhibit G: the silver figurine with a concealed blade.

"Lunar stuff?" Irene asks.

"Lunar stuff." You agree.

"Lunar stuff." Amata nods, handing it over to you.

Exhibit H is more bizarre. Irene starts looking at the strange wheeled contraption all over (after putting the gun away, which takes her quite some time). "Mh. This is... interesting. I never saw something like this, but it looks like..."

"Reminds you of anything?" You ask.

Pull the trigger and it goes bang
>>
"It looks like a derivate of the Swift Rider. Of course, this is older, so it's probably the other way around, and the Swift Rider was based on this instead." She mumbles, grabbing one of the large wheels and pulling it. It moves a bit before locking in place with a loud CLANK. "Ah-ha. It's the folding type. Thought so."

"...What's a Swift Rider?" You scratch your head.

"Basically..." another CLANK echoes in the room as Irene tries to unfild the machine bit by bit, with trial and error. "...it's something like a mechanical horse driven by magic."

"That thing doesn't look much like a horse."

"It doesn't, does it? But it works the same way. It replaces the legs with wheels."

"So it's like a self-driven chariot?" You start to see the general shape of the machine as Irene snaps its parts into place one after another.

"Sort of. It can go a lot faster than a normal horse, especially if the rider doesn't use charms for that, or doesn't know any." CLANK. "Certain magical horses or other riding animals, especially when the rider is an Exalted with the right charms, can outperform a Swift Rider in maneuvrability, versatility, sometimes even speed. So someone without those charms, or who doesn't bother to learn them, would prefer a Swift Rider to a normal horse."

"So how fast can this thing go?"

"On a good road? A Swift Rider can make one hundred, one hundred and twenty kilometers in one hour. This one? Maybe more. But it needs a hearthstone to be powered up.

"Oh." You mumble in response. Still, that vehicle looks amazing, now that it's unfolded. It was obviously designed for speed, but it also looks quite sturdy, and a lot of attention must have gone into the looks and appearance as well. It might have been a status symbol or something to show off as much as a vehicle.

"It was a memory of the past..."

[You tell Irene and Amata what you saw in the Titan]

"...And that's when I woke back up."

Amata nods thoughtfully. "...I have no idea of what that means."

It's reassuring to hear someone like her say that.

"You mean that was your previous life?"

"No. I mean, I don't know. Sort of. It's... complicated." You mumble, a bit confused yourself.

"Do you intend to do anything about it?"

That question makes you pause. What does she mean?

"...I can't really do anything ABOUT it. It's the distant past."

She nods. Looks like that was exactly the point she was trying to make. "Let's focus on the present. We have only four days to organize and carry out our strike against the Lintha, after all."

That doesn't seem right. "Only four days? Wasn't the truce with the Abyssals supposed to last a week?"

"You've been down there three days, Maka." She explains. "I've been carrying the preparations out on my own without you."

Only four days. You'll have to hurry.

"...Regis?" A moment of panic grips your heart. "How COULD you send a kid like him..."

"They're not going to hurt him."

"Are you SURE?"

"Reasonably so." She replies, tactfully. "You were gone and someone had to make that call. If I delayed, the Abyssals might've figured out that you were missing, and maybe siezed the opportunity and attacked."

That makes sense, but you still don't like the idea. "...What about their hostage? Did they leave someone?"

"Some ghost-blooded courtesan called Eiyal. I gave her a windowless room here at the castle and posted guards at the door."

That means nothing to you, but Regis... You wonder how he's doing right now.

"Regis is a smart kid. Stronger than you probably realize." She tries to reassure you, telling you what happened while you were gone: Regis, Millian and Pyre attacked by some ghost in the temple, interrogated about the whereabouts of the Titan, and... saved by Phoenix, in the end.

The story does make you feel proud of your little Regis, but also contains a worrysome detail.

"...So, do you think a different deathlord really sent that ghost? Or was that just Phoenix trying to trick us?"

She shakes her head. "I'm not an expert in Deathlords. But from this story, it really doesn't seem like they're on the same side."

"But we know that even Phoenix's "side" has several factions within it. They all want to take over Tianna, but are willing to use different methods." Irene notes.

"It could be that, or it could genuinely be a second Deathlord." Amata replies. "We don't have enough information to tell right now. Honestly, I hope Regis will come back with some answers once the truce's over. He's a smart kid after all, and he might be our best bet to learn something new right now. They might underestimate him and lower their guard."

After a moment of thought:

"...say, Amata?"

"What?"

"Can you send me a couple of magical messages with your sorcery?"

She sighs. "You mean Infallible Messengers? ...Normally, I'd ask you if it's really something that needs magic rather than a more normal messenger, but I guess we're strapped for time." You remember her not really liking to use sorcery all that much, but you have to ask. "So? What do you need?"

"One to Tia up north at her tribe's place, one to the west where Mikahil and Valeriana are working at Pearl. We need to meet all up here to organize our forces for the attack on the Lintha base." You explain. "...Valeriana will probably want to be left out of it, she seems like the kind of person who'd get way too focused on her projects, so send the message to Mikahil. He'll find a way to drag her away."

"Not a bad idea." She nods. "Still, this will put a bit of delay on Pearl's construction project."

"Pearl needs us to take out the Lintha before it can be completed anyway, for three equally good reasons: with them around we can't have free shipping to and from Tianna, we need them gone in order to carry out that much-needed deal with the Denzik merchants, and..."

"...and most of the funding for Pearl's construction effort will have to come out of the Lintha treasury once we get our hands on it." She smiles. "How very piratey."

"Maybe I'm learning from the wrong people." You joke. "But it still sounds like a good plan."

"I'll go cast those spells and call for a general meeting. Mikahil will probably be here on the Gloria, that weird sailing ship Valeriana made, so they'll be here in ten hours or so." She makes an estimate. "Tia can fly, so once she hears from you I'll give her about one hour."

"Send the messages some time apart so they arrive at about the same time then, if you may."

"Oh?" Amata grins. "That's unusual. I thought you'd want to see Tia as soon as possible."

"I do." You admit. "But I also know that as soon as she gets back she'll want to monopolize me and I won't be able to get anything done for a while."

She laughs heartily. "You're right. Well then, I'll go."

"By the way, what about these suits of armor and the nonmagical weapons?" Irene asks.

"Mh, that's right." You mumble. "I was forgetting about those."

"I saw the projects for these, and even some working ones in Lookshy." She holds up one of those full helmets. "These are Ashigaru Skirmish Armor. They're a form of light power-armor."

"Isn't Lookshy on the other side of the world?"

She smiles. "It wasn't an easy trip, but I really wanted to go. Anyway, they're a type of magical armor that even mortals can wear... even if it's bad for their long-term health, unless they already have Awakened their Essence."

"Interesting." You look at the armored plates closer. They're dark and dull. "It does look like something for ninjas or infiltrators."

"The helmet has a built-in system giving night-sight and sound amplification. It has an air filter, keeping poisonous chemicals and smokes from harming the user, and automatically injects antidotes when the armor detects most commonly-used poisons in the bloodstream. It's self-sealing and comes with one hour of air supply, making it possible to perform brief underwater operations." She explains. "And, it's very silent and designed for stealth operations as well. Once activated, the plates can change color reacting to their surroundings, like a chameleon. It's soft, light and doesn't obstruct movement, and at the same time gives a level of protection equivalent to a suit of heavy chainmail."

"That's fairly impressive." You point at her. "Is that anything like the suit of armor I've seen you wearing? Or the one that Deled had?"

Besides, these were designed specifically for mortals to use. Exalted can wear them without any trouble, of course, but mortals are the ones who get the biggest advantages from it."

"It's a bigger power multiplier, you mean?"

"Something like that. But my suit of armor is a different deal. That one was something designed specifically for Exalted. For Dragon-Blooded of my aspect. It was an amazing stroke of luck to find it down there, and still intact."

"What's it called?"

"The official name is Most Resolute Armor of the Earth Dragon. I just call it Tank." She grins. "It's specifically designed for large-scale combat, siegework both offensive and defensive, and just making you the toughest bastard ever."

"What should we do with these three suits, in any case?"

I say we ask their thoughts on it, specifically mentioning the affect on health. We're going into a big battle and want our crew, and especially our captains, to be at their top form, but it might not suit them. Maybe we keep one or two and see what they think?

That said, while it's not as much of a boost, I am in favor of giving one to Zareen. The stealth aspect is really up her alley. Pity it coves up her abs...

Not for short term use.

And standard armor is better for Exalted unless you have special armor FOR exalted.

>>
>>35404003

That's for Skin-Mount Amulets.
For Ashigaru, mortals wearing it age by one extra day every 12 days (or, in other words, one extra week per season). So it's more "8,3% faster" than "100% faster".

But still, neither you nor Irene know the specific detail. All you know is that it is a long-term health hazard to wear one for too long if you're a mortal, but the effects for wearing it for a short amount of time are basically undetectable.
>>
>>35404015
>>35404032
Short term use is WORSE. If you don't get the implants that make you age at 200% speed, you instead agree for one year per SCENE of use. I really can't overemphasized the fact that this armor, despite its power, is a death sentence for mortal users. That's why Gunzosha commandos - the most notable such group - are seen as the ultimate in patriotic elites wherever they serve.

It's a terrible idea to give them to a mortal unless they volunteer fully aware of what they're giving up.
>>
>>35404086
What the fuck are you smoking.
>>
>>35404065
Well, color me corrected. My vote is still to give one to Zareen, one to Samiel, and save one for a mortal volunteer. Zareen could use even better stealth combat ability, Samiel REALLY needs to stop being knocked into critical condition if he's going to survive the next few weeks, and that leaves one wildcard set.
>>
>>35404100
Clearly I was just remembering how Gunzosha Commando armor works. Didn't realize the other power armors were so different.
>>
>>35404100
I don't think he's aware that Gunsosha commandos have FAR more debilitating effects than other armors.
>>35404065
Our twilight probably knows, though roleplaying asking her questions the players already know for several hours would be kinda annoying. Any chance when we have downtime at some point we can basically have a short blurb that says "You take the chance to ask her about X Y and Z, you now know that information IC" (Along with a short description for people who don't know exalted OFC)

Seeing how the suits were described as being geared towards stealth, she really seems the best fit, despite not getting as much benefit as a mortal.
>(Someone else)
A mortal volunteer. One of the Captains, maybe, or someone they think would benefit from it. It's too good not to make use of in the upcoming battle.
>>
You've made up your mind.

"Keep one in a safe place, then. I'll hand it to Regis when he'll be back."

Irene giggles. "That pipsqueak in power armor. Who'd have thought? I'll have to adapt it for him."

"Is that going to be hard?" You ask her.

"Nah. These things are well-designed. They can be adapted for people of all builds and heights. What about the others?"

"Tia's tribe has a shaman that's sort of a second-in-command to her, Iscariah. Haven't talked with her much, but she looks trustworthy, not to mention tough and handy in a fight. I'll hand her one."

"The third one?"

"Zareen?"

Irene ponders. "Well, she's an Exalted already. This sort of thing could probably do more good in the hands of a mortal."

"But she's an assassin and an infiltrator. This armor plays to her strengths." You point out.

"Mh. You have a point. Alright then." She puts one suit back in one of the crates and hands you the other two. "I'll get to work on the Plasma Tongue Repeater. See you at the meeting."

That said, you part ways. You head for Zareen's room.

You walk in her room, finding her in the middle of a series of push-ups. She moved the bed aside to have more floor space, it seems.

"...Oh? Hey, Maka." She slows down briefly to acknowledge your presence, but doesn't stop. "Thought you disappeared. No one had any idea where you ended up. Good to have you back. Anything happen?"

"Yeah. Calibration Festival's come early this year." You drop the bow and suit of armor on the bed with a grin.

She stops. "Wh- What the heck..."

It takes her a moment to recover from the shock and stand back up. "...Where the hell did you get this stuff?" She asks, utterly amazed.

"I found out that the gift spirit of Calibration is really the Scarlet Empress with a fake beard." You reply, with a straight face. "That's why she disappeared, she wanted to do it as a full-time job. And you've been a good kid this year, so she asked me to hand these to you."

She stares at you.

Social + Zenith = 1 9 6 1 8 10 7 1 = 5 successes

"In preparation for the whole big mess that's about to happen, Tianna is opening up all of its armories, even stuff that was buried deep and been locked for a long time. We're breaking out the big guns." You twang on the bowstring like a harp, and it makes a satisfying sound. "Or bows, in this case."

She picks up the powerbow from your hands and tries pulling the string.

"...Wow, the draw is something crazy..." She mumbles. "This thing could punch through a wall."

"Want to try the armor?" You offer.

"Why not." She replies with a satisfied grin.

You help her put on the bodyglove and connect the armored plates on top, finally locking her head inside the helmet. It makes a weird noise as it seals itself off and the suit's systems slowly power up.

There's a brief flash of light from within the lenses mounted on the faceplate. "Wow." Her voice has taken on a slightly metallic tone, but is perfectly recognizable. "I thought it would be uncomfortable, but it's... about as light and flexible as a leather jacket. I can see all weird."

I'm sure Irene knows how to use and maintain this thing better than either of us do, so ask her if you have any question." You inform her. "For now, your mission will be to get used to this weapon and armor so you can make the best possible use of it once the battle starts."

She pulls the helmet off. "Alright. And..." She looks at the bow. "...Thank you, boss. You're the first one to trust me like this."

As you leave Zareen's room, you stumble and almost fall over.

You begin to realize that even your endurance is close to its limit. On top of that, you haven't had time to take care of your wounds.

You make your way to your old room in the castle. Along the way, you ask a soldier standing guard to call Pyre Spark and Millian Lightcloud to your room.

Starting to really feel like a battered wreck as your body relaxes and stops pumping your muscles and nerves full of Essence to artificially sustain you past your limits, you collapse on your bed, roll yourself up under the blankets, and instantly black out.

You wake up some time later, feeling someone picking at your wounds painfully, and jolt awake to see Millian and Pyre on your bed.

They pulled blankets and clothes off you and started disinfecting your wounds with alcohol-soaked cotton, cleaning them, and dressing them with gauze.

"Oh, she's awake." Millian notes, making it sound almost like it's a bother.

"Divine Maka!" Pyre gets in the way and slams on you, pinning you down painfully. "It was terrible! I was so scared! I missed you so much! I was worried you were gone forever!" She says, brushing her cheek against yours so hard and so fast that you wonder if the friction will spark a fire.

Millian tears her away from you. "You're in the way. We were just about done!"

"Ah! Right! Sorry."

"Um... I'm naked." You point out.

"Nothing new." The maid replies, shoving the alcohol-soaked cotton rag inside a small laceration on your right hip hard enough to make you see little stars at the corners of your field of vision.

"...You're mad at me because of Regis?"

She pulls the cotton out way too hard and way too fast. "I'm not mad." She lies.

"Divine Maka didn't have a choice, Millian. She wasn't even there when it happened."

"That's precisely why I'm not mad."

The pain makes you wince. "Still, I'm happy to know that you're fine."

Not sure, but assuming we ever need to expand our deal with the local water court I say we build an impressive (and expansive) bathhouse in every city that doubles as a place of worship to them. Might even have a few pools with direct access to the sea incase they want to come and play with their followers.
>>
>>35405823
This is actually a VERY good idea. Not just for public relations with them, but also for public sanitation.

You know those vertical windmills? Instead of looing like a fan they look like a whisk? What if we built a tower that's a huge one of those, open air in the middle, so people could converse/worship directly with air courts as well? It'll still be turning gears down below to grind grain and such, but it'll double as a place of worship, and help improve relations with the Air Courts.

>>
>>35406683
No we did, I think it got mentioned somewhere that they've already started not drowning people

I know exactly what kind of windmill you're talking about and so long as we make the blades out of some prismatic material so they shatter a soft mix of rainbows and sunlight during the day and casts moonbeams around at night (to venerate the sun and moonas well), I'm in.
>>
>>35406683
We did.

>>35406470
If we're doing that, we need to get all the elemental courts on board. A wooded grove in the city with a line of trees that actually extends out to nearby forests. A large stone hill with a cave carved in it, and I don't know what to do for fire. But we can get the elemental courts walking amongst mortals, interacting peacefully. Hell, we hooked Dancing Smoke up with a boyfriend. Who knows what we could do for mortal/divine relations in the long run.
And in twenty years, if there happen to be a large number of half-elementals running around with awakened essence capable of powering Tianna's wealth of first age weapons, well I guess that's just a bonus, isn't it?
>>
>>35406781
That's also a great idea
>>
>>35406781
>>35406846
Would it be possible to set a thin layer of mist over the city, so that from within the city there's always a rainbow whenever you look up?
>>
>>35406925
Shouldn't be too difficult to do that mechanically or to make a deal with a local cloud/weather god.
>>
>>35406797
We at one point we're going to have places of worship for all the incarnate in pearl. Having places for the elemental courts to gather around Gaia's temple might work
>>
>>35406967
You know, with all the elementals, minor deities (we may just have added a local cohort of weather and rainbow gods) and amenities, I'm wondering if we might as well go all in and start selling vacation homes to foreign gods? Come by, soak up the sun, enjoy the beach, hand out a few blessings and lead a prayer service, go home with some extra prayer in your pocket and an excellent tan. We could get a majority of heaven actively working to screw over any sidereals/realm dudes that what to mess with us.

>>
>>35406797
All joking aside, we need to revisit the Thousand Streams plan. If the Lunars really want to 'upgrade' humanity by breeding in stronger influences, so that it's easier for them to awaken their essence, this could be a good starting point.

>>
>>35407836
What do you want to know?
>>
>>35407881
Woo!
>>35407890
Ah, thank you.

Exaltedfag, you mentioned that you had the everything simplified to 3 Attributes and 5 Skills, and that redundant charms were cut. Are there any hard and fast rules that you following after these? Like how charms are gained, Essence/Willpower/Health is calculated, Backgrounds are handled and so on.

(Having some connection issues, so apologies for the late replies)
>>
Xp costs are in >>35401151

When the quest was still starting out the first charms and skill and attribute dots were gained without Xp and really fast as part of the Exaltation process as a result of what options players picked. Choosing to fight rather than to talk gave a point of Dawn instead of a point of Zenith, so on.

There is no willpower. Essence is Mental + 3 + charms that increase Essence. Health is Physical + 2 + ox-body.

Backgrounds are handled just like in tabletop.

Excellencies are just a flat +3. A lot more charms are just Permanent.

Combat works with attack rolls and DV as normal. All attacks just deal 1 damage, more if there are some bonuses or boosts (from weapons or charms). Damage is not rolled.

By the way a "boost" is "+1 damage X times a scene" or "+1 soak X times a scene". It's now most equipment works, especially mortal equipment. For some time Maka had gauntlets that gave her +1 damage once a scene, so her fists always did 1 damage, but they did 2 damage once per fight when she needed to.

Soak decreases damage. Damage is hard-capped at 3 post-soak: nothing in the universe can deal more damage than 3 points in a single hit, except unique effects that just kill outright, but those are only "plot" events, like taking a Soulbreaker Orb to the face or something like that. Not effects that can reliably be produced in combat.

There is no Paranoia Combat. If you don't know what "Paranoia Combat" is: good, you don't need to know and you shouldn't know.

Every three extra successes on the to-hit roll cause one extra damage. This still can't go beyond the "max 3 damage" cap.

Indicatively, Soak is capped at 2. On the other hand there is no "ping damage" and apart for a few specific Overwhelming weapons and attacks, minimum damage is 0.
>>
Does our knowledge go off Mental+twilight or just twilight? (For stuff like who is Ma-Ha, or whatever)
>>
>>35408790

>>
>>35408897
Oh, I thought that skill was passive when you mentioned that we didn't know of the existence of that one god, Nysela or whatever.
>>
>>35408951
That has nothing to do with skill or anything, it's just that she's not a commonly known god and Maka has no reason to have ever heard about her.
>>
>>35408564
