EXTRA INNINGS ADDITION

You are Commander Dominic O'Hara, yadda yadda. Today is February 13th, UC0084, and you've got an EFF regular Captain and a Newtype civilian dressed up in Titans uniforms in an attempt to convince a certain ace pilot to quit being such a sourpuss and get back our onto the battlefield where he's useful.

Of course you intend to say it more tactfully, which is the reason behind your selection of companions.

In addition, you've brought Karen, who seems especially intimidating as a Captain in Titans: basically equal to a Rear Admiral, but meaner and bestowed with extraordinary authority over EFF assets.

You've even brought a letter from Amuro Ray's mother, though she declined to come in person. Which is a good thing, seeing how this is an operation that could put you in direct conflict with EFF forces stationed in and around Amuro's palatial prison.

The two guards at the gate grip their rifles tight as you approach.

"State your business," the larger of the two orders.
>Let Karen deal with it.
>State that it's Titans business, push past them.
>Dress them down. Use your cruelest, most Titans-y words.

“Stop!” he orders, switching to his sidearm as you move closer. “Stop right there or I shoot!”

No, you think to yourself with a self-satisfied grin. No, you won't.

Reaching out and making contact, you hit the mag release stud and push the slide back with a single motion, noting that the idiotic MP didn't even have a round chambered. Since it's a type of pistol you've seen before you know ts controls, so you also take the time to move your thumb upwards to flick the takedown lever. As the magazine drops free, you tug on the slide and pull it away from the lower receiver, and toss both it and the barrel away behind you.

“No need to be rude,” you explain with a smile. “There. Now we can have a conversation.”

“Lower your weapons,” Karen orders. “Or.. what's left of them, in your case. We're here on Titans business. We'd like to make Mister Ray here an offer he shouldn't refuse, if you follow my meaning.”

“Is that a direct order?” the smaller guard asks with a sigh. You note that unlike the big guy, he's not as quick to point his weapon... maybe he has some sense.

“It is,” Karen replies. “I'll need you to step aside.”

Grudgingly, the senior MP waves his team off, and allows you in through the gate, and you notice Artesia hand the slide and barrel back to the hot-under-the-collar MP you disarmed.

“Impressive,” Bright muses.

You shrug. “I don't like being drawn on.”

Inside the rather large estate you find an empty hallway. Using your senses, you can tell there are a fair number of people here...
>Search the office area, there are three people there

Upstairs it is. Seems like if someone was under house arrest, they might as well be comfortable, and the bedrooms are all upstairs. You reach the second floor landing, and notice that Artesia seems intent on the room at the end of the hall.

"He's there," she mutters, spurring your group onwards, towards a small figure standing outside the door.

You find a young woman with black, almost bluish hair standing guard between you and Amuro. Her insignia are those of a Sergeant.

"Hey," she says, startle to see you. "Who are you? You're not allowed in here."

Yeah, Amuro's pretty old for a Gundam protagonist. He's actually the second oldest main character in any of the animated installments of the series, if we're counting him at the end of his career in Char's Counterattack. Twenty-nine years old, that's practically a senior citizen as far as Gundam pilots go. Only one older is Lyle Dylandy in Awakening of the Trailblazer, at thirty-one years old

You are Artesia Som Deikun, though you still go by the name "Sayla Mass" in public. It's February 13th, and you've just been snuck into the house where Amuro is being kept under the pretense of a Titans recruitment mission.

Your current obstacle is a young Sergeant standing by the door to Amuro's room.

"We've come to speak with Amuro," Karen tells her, but the Sergeant seems skeptical.

"You're Titans, right? What business do you have with Amuro?"

>'Amuro'? So you're on a first-name basis with your prisoner?

Just stay silent, brood on the first name basis, and let Bright and the others do their thing. Amuro will eventually get tired of hearing the shouting and come out. THAT'S when you pounce on him.

>>
>>35444203
I can just imagine the one-up-manship between these two.

"I held Amuro's hand!"
>I gave Dominic a blowjob

"Haha! I've beaten you, Miss Mass! I've gotten a hug!"
>Dominic ate me out.

"I-I know I got you beat this time, Sayla! Amuro gave me a kiss!"
>Dominic did me in the butt.
>>
>>35444203
You can't help but feel a little annoyed with this girl. "Amuro?" you ask. "Since when are you two on a first-name basis? Isn't he your prisoner?"

"That..." she replies, apparently taken aback. "That's none of your business, ma'am. And besides, being civil isn't a crime."

"Who are you, Sergeant?" Dominic asks, depriving you of a chance to fire back at the stranger.

"Sergeant Chan Agi," she salutes him. "And you are?"

"Commander Dom O'Hara, Captains Harry Shaft and Karen Joshua, and Ensign Kleet Orrus." Dammit. Why do you have to be "Kleet Orrus"...

"Now, kindly let us in before we let ourselves in," Bright tells her, getting in on the act a little even as he smirks at your pseudonyms.

"... he's locked it," Agi replies sheepishly. "He doesn't like us disturbing him during the day... even I can barely get him to open up around mealtimes."

"And you're trying to tell me you don't have a master key?"

Agi shrugs. "He also installed a chain. I have no idea where he even got it."

Figures. If there was anything Amuro was ever good at it was making the most out of a bad situation with little or nothing to work with. He even made a beam saber handle that extended into a polearm... seriously, that one still confuses you a little.

"Okay," Bright says, admitting defeat on that front. "I suppose it's the same old song and dance?"

You shake your head. "Let me."

Walking up to the door, you give a gentle knock. "Amuro... it's me. Sayla. Open up."

That got his attention.

"I thought her name was..." Agi starts before Dom interrupts.

"Is it amateur hour today or something?" he asks, completely confused by Agi's failure to notice the fake names. "I literally called her "clitoris". It wasn't even clever at all."

As the girl finally catches on, she seems to shrink against the wall. "... please don't tell anyone that worked..."

Finally, the door opens.

"... Sayla?" Amuro asks in surprise. "And Mister Bright? What are you..."

You can't help yourself. After so many years, and he hasn't even written you? After all you went through together? After the feelings you shared?

The people downstairs probably heard your hand going upside Amuro's head.

Then you hug him. Agi, Karen, and Bright are still looking at you in shock, but Amuro and Dom seem to understand what's going on in your heart. The frustration and happiness and sadness all mixed up... it's not something that would register with most people.

“Would it kill you to write?” you ask him quietly, tears burning in your eyes.

Amuro sighs. “No... no, it wouldn't have. I'm sorry.”

“It's okay,” you hear yourself telling him. “I've moved on. Even my brother has moved on in his own way... and you need to find a way to do the same, Amuro. You've got to get yourself out of here already.”

“You came here... because you were concerned?” he asks as you release him.

Bright nods. “We even brought a letter from your mother,” he adds, handing Amuro the letter.

Your old friend rips the envelope open and pours over the letter, and you can see him visibly choke up. Dominic and Karen back off a little, leaving things to you and Bright.

“Things are getting bad out in the real world, kid,” Bright tells him. “A guy like you shouldn't be locked up like this.”

“So... what do you expect me to do?” Amuro asks, finally managing to choke out a few words.

"You could come with us," you muse, though you know in your heart that won't be possible for him. Not now, maybe not ever.

Amuro, predictably, shakes his head. "No... I can't go back to killing. Not without a clear reason."

"Then you can sign on as a trainer," you offer. "You could really help new pilots. May even keep a few of them alive."

Bright grins. "Sounds like a good job. You always were a great technical pilot."

Amuro ponders it for a while. The longer you wait, the more nervous Agi seems to grow.

"Okay," he finally concludes. "I think I can get back in the cockpit if it's for that."

"Good," you tell him, throwing your arms around him again. "You want to come out with us?"

"No," Amuro tells you. "You're not even supposed to be here, right? I'll let myself out somehow."

Karen nods. "Thanks. I appreciate it."

"We're already pushing our luck here. We should be going," Dominic announces quietly. "You ready?" He seems concerned with making sure you have as much time as you need without risking the MPs calling bullshit.

"No," you tell him before turning back to Amuro one more time. "Just try and stay in touch this time, you jerk."

Sergeant Agi looks apprehensively at your group. "We weren't here," Karen tells her. "Understood?"

Agi nods. "Of course. If I told anyone about this I'd be out a job."

I don't wanna rush it with Amuro, take it slow.
>>
>>35445966
Has my vote. Just because if we boink Sayla later down the road the suffering will be even greater. Char and Amuro both team up to drop Axis. It's perfect.

>I can't. Not now, but maybe some day.

Before even realizing what you're doing, you find yourself kissing the idiot. It's a true feeling... and then it's over as suddenly as it began.

"I did once," you tell him quietly. "And in spite of everything that's happened, and everything that's probably going to happen, I still do."

"Take care of yourself, idiot."

>PERSPECTIVE SHIFT

YES. Perfect. Now we need to arrange a boink with her just to NTR Amuro and increase his suffering and PTSD. I can already feel the atmosphere heating up from reentry.

amuro starts wearing a mask to hide his shame

You are Dominic O'Hara, and Artesia has just now caught up with you. She seems much more at peace than she was before you met with Amuro. Still not quite "happy", it seems... which confuses you a little.

"You okay?" you ask her, concerned about the conflicted feelings you get from her.

She shrugs. "I will be. When there isn't a war, and neither Earthnoids nor Spacenoids are trying to oppress or flat-out murder each other. When there's no need for soldiers, I'll be perfectly fine."

"Won't we all?" Karen wonders aloud.

Housekeeping next post. Archive will be up in a minute or two.

I'm disappointed Chan and Artesia can't play their one-up-manship games now over there various sexual conquests, but this is even better in my book for suffering coefficients.

He's gonna take revenge by going full Ribbons, take ALICE and turn her into VEDA, and get all the Cyber-Newtypes and Purus.

Taking a moment to salute our brothers and sisters in GBFQ, which is on its final thread.

>not quite "happy"

Gee I wonder why. It's the frustration of being attracted to two guys and not knowing whom to pick. We'll just haft to tag-team her with Amuro. He'll understand.

It's a pretty badass fight so far, dat 19 for Char and 20 for us last roll.

Today is June 6th, UC0084. Looking over the files of the last few months' events, it seems things are getting messy.

The "Ikebana" upgrades are finished now, with the addition of an experimental "Anti Beam Coating" that's supposed to stop beam attacks cold... for a while. You kind of hope you never get the chance to put it to the test. Your team has also recently taken delivery of a new mobile suit that uses the movable frame concept: called the "Mark II" Gundam, it's designed to accept various upgrade packs to duplicate the performance of other machines. Three of these have gone to pilots Yazan Gable, Jerid Messa, and Cacricon Cacooler. One has gone to the Titans Test Team, and one has come in to your team. The sixth and final unit is apparently slated to be delivered today to the Murasame labs. Gundarium γ is being evaluated on these machines as well.

The rest of the Federation forces, according to ALICE's intel, are gearing up for war. The new class of escort carrier is being fielded in small numbers, as are brand-new Nemo and Hizack mobile suits (without gundarium, thankfully), supplanting the EFSF and EFF's older GM models. Among Titans, the GM IIs and Quels are being phased out for Hizacks and a new machine called the "Barzam Refined". The transformable Asshimar, as well as the Zeon-derived Galbaldy Beta are in the testing phases.

In other news, Slave Wraith has carried out two operations, with several losses, and you have some evidence of Murasame projects Zero through Four being prepared for "evaluations".

Finally you've got the Zeeks: the Republic has succeeded in making the Saturn engine safer to use, and has set to work updating its older mobile suit forces. A limited production run of Kampfers is being touted as an ideal colony defense force.

Principality remnants are also staging the odd attack, namely aimed at gaining supplies. Escort carriers are stretched thin throughout the Earth Sphere.

I know it's probably too late, but I just remembered we missed a lead-in for the Cyber-Newtype lab investigation. Nina could have looked into the mobile suit slated to be piloted by Rosseweisse way way back when we were poking around in Anaheims systems.
>>
>>35446540
Oh boy, oh boy. I'm ready to see the tears of time!
>>
>>35446540
As always, Mars is a mystery. Long-range imaging suggests new mobile weapons are being tested: the largest MIPWS available to Anaheim painted twelve powerful reactors darting about Axis, which has been shedding its equipment and fabrication facilities to be transported to the Martian surface. Ships are gathering around the asteroid itself.

Then there's Riah... they went in for mobile armors. A new variant of the Dendrobium, it seems: big enough and yet maneuverable enough to act as deterrents to a major fleet, and they have five of them.

In response, Titans has begun cracking down on protest movements, acting more as riot police and even thugs than a military force. It's not looking great.

"How's the rest of the world?" Carya asks, wrapping her arms around your waist and peeping over your shoulder. ALICE's rusty-haired avatar disappears from your terminal screen where she's been keeping you company, sensing a private moment.

"Not sure," you tell her honestly before giving her a gentle kiss which she happily returns. "We'll have to see for ourselves."

>>35446540
Wait, how does the Barzam Refined exist if the Gundam Mark II is just now undergoing testing? It's derived from the Mark II. Was it more of a parallel development sort of thing in this timeline?
>>
>>35446685
Thanks for playing! Archive is up for both threads.

Later today you'll get to try out your new machines in combat, and things will start rushing towards your equivalent of Gryps.

Have fun, and try not to die~

>>35446685
When does the suffering begin for Amuro and Sayla? I'm on the edge of my seat here waiting for us to bone her or something even worse happening to Amuro. Like the Titans getting ahold of him and delivering him to Oakland in shackles. God I can't wait for the healing.
>>
>>35446685
Thanks for that extra, extra long run man.
>>
>>35446685
Will thanks for running.
>>
>>35446695
You can assume at this point that the timelines are FUCKED, partly because research is being disseminated faster, and partly because there's a pressing need for new MS designs.

Also, this Mk II is much more like the Hazel in a lot of ways.
>>
>>35446685
Thanks for running KoH.

So Jack or Char? Who do you think is going to win?
>>
>>35446738
Thanks for running so late , Hearts. We got some nice character moments in, made for a fun if low-key thread. See you next time.
>>
>>35446782
I have no idea, and I love it.
>>
>>35446779
I'm guessing Mussolini outfitted Axis with a colossal planet killer colony laser for his master stroke.

What would have come about if we had spaced the Liliums and Cima got ahold of 'em?
>>
>>35446869
They'd have found two newtypes to test them and discovered that under normal circumstances putting two newtypes in one psycommu cockpit is a terrible idea.

If Titans found out, they would have considered it treason and tried to stop your ship for a "routine" inspection, then kill or capture everyone on board.
