>love is like chocolate; savour it slowly or plop it down in one go, you'll always have room for more

An ear-piercing screech sounds from above you and you see a girl swinging from the rigging of the pirate ship, making a landing right before you and pointing an ancient looking pistol at you. By her side is a sheathed sword. You have no idea if either are even real or just museum pieces. She laughs.

"This is our ship now! Surrender or die!"

You can't help but notice that she's still alone, even as the ship continues passing yours, though the girl before you seems unaware. Behind her you see a small girl with a blue bandana wrapped around her head, waving to her. "Buh-bye, Grande Soeur!"

"Huh?" The girl before you turns towards the voice in surprise. "W-wait! What are you doing? Come back! Mutiny! You're going to regret this when I find you!" More girls show their faces, grinning as they join the first to wave good bye to their previous captain, unaffected by her threats. You make a mental note to remember not to repeat her mistake and treat your girls right. She turns to face you, once again pointing her pistol at you.

"Guess I'm taking your crew as well, huh?"

You are the Loli Talker, aka Nee-chan, a specialist dealing in bringing unreasonable lolis to reason. Currently you are on a very peculiar job, having been hired for unclear reasons by some eccentric fat cat with more money than he knows what to do with to guide a ship across the Pacific from the United States to Japan aided only by a tiny crew of equally small girls. Having just escaped from a weird island with easter egg roofies growing on the trees, your ship has just been boarded by a girl in a pirate get-up and equipped with a sword and antique pistol.

You should really do something about that. But what?

>Offer her a place on your crew?
>She's not far, you might be able to kick the pistol out of her hand before she can react?
>You still have the marbles. They're intended to work on girls younger than her but they might still affect her, so you could try to use them to distract her?
>Something else? (Write-in)

You also have an emergency knife. You'll have to decide if you actually want to use it if a fight breaks out. You definitely don't want your girls seeing you draw blood, but your enemy seems to be deadly serious.

>No knife, even if you have to fight her?

She seems immature enough for it to work.

>>
Huh. I included the vote about the knife because I had second thoughts about it maybe being too grim for you guys and there's already 3 votes in favor of the knife.

Diplomatic approach is definitely winning, so I can start writing that part regardless.

This girl is dangerous, you must be too. Your knife is prepared, hidden just up your sleeve and ready to fall into your hand at the flick of a wrist. You'd prefer a diplomatic approach, so for now it stays there. You take a quick look about you. To your left on the bridge, Nadine and Nina are watching you. Camilla and May are out of your sight somewhere.

"You probably noticed that you're outnumbered, right? How about you just settle down all friendly-like and I may just have space for you on my crew."

She laughs, mocking you. "Me? On YOUR crew? Do you even know the first thing about being a captain? Do you even have a hat?" You don't have a hat.

You take a careful step toward her. "I actually HAVE a crew. You don't. See how that works?"

The girl gives you a wink. "I have a gun." She pulls the trigger.

A short jet of water shoots from the pistol, splashing your face. The hostile girl glares back to her ship, grumbling. "Sabotage..." You hear the faint sound of distant laughter. In the blink of an eye however, the girl has drawn her hand back and is now hurling the pistol at you!

As the pistol leaves her hand you focus yourself inwards. Mind and body in perfect balance, time slows to a crawl around you. To think you picked up a trick like that over webcam, your cousin even called you a natural!

You deftly duck under the improvised projectile, rolling forwards to deliver a sweeping kick to her legs, knocking her flat down on her butt. The girl is only just realizing what happened when you pounce her, forcing her unto her back. You flick your knife down into your hand and hold it to her throat. Fear fills her eyes.

"M-mercy! Please, I'll do as you say!"

Obviously you're not going to slit her throat right here, but you will have to decide what to do with her. If you keep her, she could try to undermine you somehow but she's probably more experienced with sailing than you and could be of tremendous help.

Sailing around with your friends and occasionally stopping off at uncharted islands to look for buried treasure is just as fun as becoming a scourge of the high seas, but is way safer unless you make a habit of blithely eating the native fare.
>Accept her unto your crew, taking her weapons from her of course.

After giving the former assailant a deadly glare you rip the sword, still sheathed even now, from her belt and call Nadine over. "Could you be a sweetie and take this somewhere very safe? Oh, and that pistol too." She takes the pistol in one hand and salutes you with the other. "Yes captain Nee-chan!"

Looking back down at the girl you see she is much calmer now, taking your action as a sign that you intend to spare her. That won't do at all! You squint your eyes at her to get some of that blood rushing again. "You can stay." She breathes a sigh of relief. "But don't forget who is at bottom here. You don't give orders to anyone, you take orders from everyone. Understood?" She nods. At this you stand back up and offer her a hand. She does not take it.

"Am I dismissed then... "Captain?"

"Not quite." You lead her down to the kitchen, pulling out a chair for each of you. "You're going to answer my questions. All of my questions."

Special vote! I've always felt that interrogating and questioning NPCs was kind of awkward in quests. QM would just list off some prompts and players would pick every single one because duh, of course they want to ask all the questions while at the same time there was no clear way for players to communicate if they opposed a specific question being asked, for example if it was sensitive and might make the NPC less cooperative. So I want to try out something different!

Here's what I want you to do. You pick out one of the prompts as your priority. In addition to that, I'd like you to mark the remaining prompts with either a yes or no. Any prompt with less yes votes than no votes will thus be ignored. You're still welcome to add your own questions, of course. Thank you in advance for being patient while I test this out!

Now, for the actual prompts.

"Now, let's start off easy, hm? Just who are you?"

She simply shrugs at this. "Name's Lisa. Dunno what else you wanted to hear."

"Alright, Lisa then. So what, you're a pirate?"

She's not even looking at you anymore, apparently deciding the sink is more interesting than you. "Something like that."

"Why?"

Her gaze settles on the trash bin now. "For fun."

"So you're telling me you sail around the Pacific in an antiquated ship with antiquated weapons, playing pirates with a bunch of little girls for fun?"

She finally looks straight at you again. "Yes, and?"

Annnnnd, you've got nothing. What are you even supposed to say to that? Time for a new topic! "Your crew left you behind. Why do you think that is?"

She lets out a long sigh, anger coloring her face. "Because they're traitors."

"That's all you've got? You couldn't imagine any specific reason other than that?"

She shrugs. Again. Talk about being cooperative! The little girls are much easier to work with. She notes the moment of silence and looks to you. "We done, then?"

"One more time, then. What did you do to them. Don't forget who's in charge here."

She groans. "Fiiiine, whatever, doesn't matter now anyway. I hid the treasure from them! Not like they'd know what to do with it anyway!"

Your eyes widen in surprise. "You have a treasure? You sail around in THAT and you actually managed to acquire a treasure?"

She winks at you, grinning. "A real pirate has treasure, unlike YOU."

"Uh-huh. They also have ships." You can't help yourself rubbing it in once more. "Speaking of that, how did you even get a hold of that ship in the first place?"

She waves her hand dismissively. "We built it, obviously. Where do you think ships come from?"

"You built it? How old are you even?"

She raises an eyebrow at you. "Seriously, we're down to this? I'm sixteen."

"Alright, last question. I heard them call you 'Grande Soeur.' Are you French or something?"

She rolls her eyes at you. "Because it's French? I'm Canadian. We have this thing called education, you may have heard of it."

Canadian? You can't possibly help yourself, it has to be done. "Oh, that's convenient, one of my girls keeps stealing my hat."

She groans. Loudly. "Can I go now?"

You smirk to yourself. "Just one more thing. You need a new uniform." Digging into your bag of wonderful items, you pull out a few bit and pieces and throw them to her. "You can change in there." A pained expression covers her face as she looks it over.

It's not quite what you hoped for, you didn't plan this course of events after all, but the girl stepping back into the kitchen still fills you with glee. The Japanese sailor style school girl outfit is bad enough for a former pirate captain, throwing the animal ears on top to signify her status as your pet only completes the picture. She absolutely hates it and so you love it.

"At least let me dump these glasses, they're just going to get in the way."

That's a fair request, she does need to work after all. "Fine."

Amid all of this trouble you almost forgot about it. Almost. You need answers from Camilla, and not just about hats. But definitely also about hats. You track her down to the engine room, as usual. She does not appear to be at work however, apparently having decided that all the parts are doing what they're supposed to now and content to sit against a wall watching the machinery at work. She does not flee upon your entry, granting you as little attention as possible. "What's up, Cap'?"

You sit back against the wall next to her, still earning little of her attention. "We need to talk. About that island. What actually happened?"

She shrugs nonchalantly. "You were stupid. You ate the magic chocolate and passed out. Then you woke up and we left."

"And while I was passed out, what happened? Where did that girl go?"

Camilla looks you straight in the eye, dead serious for once. "I don't know. She just disappeared when you fell asleep. It was super weird! Maybe she wasn't real at all? I don't know!"

Not real? But she was clearly there, how else could she have given you the chocolate? Either way, it doesn't seem like Camilla would know. "You also stole my hat."

She pouts at you, hard. "It's not your hat! It's mine! I found it, so it's mine! Find your own hat!"

Now just one more of the recent events need to be resolved. Your sister. Making your way from the engine room to the bridge you notice Lisa having set about swabbing the deck while May looks on with a barely contained giggle, her face red like a tomato from the embarrassment. Maybe you'll consider letting her wear her regular clothes later. But not yet.

Entering the bridge, you at first see no signs of Nina, just Nadine busy at the controls (you're growing increasingly convinced that she's just working off blind luck). You're about to ask her when you feel something bumping into you from behind and wrapping itself around you. "You were so cool, Nee-chan! Can you teach me to do that too?"

You put your hands on hers and release yourself. "Maybe another time. Listen, how did you know how to get here? I didn't tell you where I was going!"

She fidgets before you, afraid to answer the question. "Uhhh, well, uhh... A man called me and told me! On the phone! So I took a bus to where he said you'd be and hid in a box! Smart, right?"

You put your hands on her shoulders, gripping tightly to make sure she understands how serious you are. "You ran away from school. Because a stranger on the phone told you." She nods in excitement. "Yes! All on my own! Aren't you proud of me, Nee-chan?"

You shake your head slowly. "Nina, that man could have been anybody! He could've been a kidnapper trying to lure you into a trap!" Her smile evaporates. "Something bad could have happened to you! You shouldn't run away like that, and you shouldn't trust people you don't know!" Tears begin to form in her eyes. "B-but Nee-chan, I just wanted to be with you. And you ran away from home too!"

You pull her close, putting your arms around her. "I know. It was stupid. Really stupid. Look, I just don't want anything bad to happen to you, okay? And if you're not at home or with me, I can't do that! If something happened to you, I just couldn't take that!" You pull away from her again, looking straight into her eyes. "Please don't do that again, okay? It scares me."

She nods meekly. "Sorry, Nee-chan." You pull her back towards you. You remain like that for a while when a rumbling interrupts your silence. You laugh. "Hungry?" She gives you an affirming "uh-huh."

You stand back up and ruffle her hair slightly. "Go find May, help her make some lunch for everyone."

"Okay, Nee-chan!"

And I'm going to end the thread here since it kind of isn't the weekend and stuff. We got some things done, so I think it's okay.

Thanks for playing, and I hope to see you next time. And I'm around for a while longer for any questions and discussion as always!

Next time we may actually continue the adventure instead of talking for the entire thread.

Also, I've decided to add the remaining flashback scenes as unlockable bonus content. I won't tell you how to unlock it, but you'll probably find most of it!

Talking for the whole thread isn't that bad for a quest like this where the focus is on interactions with cute little girls.
>>
>>35531748
I'll do my best to find it all
>>
>>35531775
It's even in the title
>>
>>35531775
That's true, but we do still have to move on eventually. I suppose it seems like more of a negative from my perspective since I'm actually trying to keep the quest short!

>>35531782
How about a tease? I'll give you their titles!

>"Innocence"
>"Fall"
>"Blue"

Yes, just three! I COULD make more but they would just cover events that aren't terribly important and if the only remaining point of them is cute girls then I may as well just come up with more scenes in the present, right?
>>
>>35531981
My guesses are:

>"Innocence"
When Nee-chan lost hers.

>"Fall"
Soon after Nee-chan ran away.

>"Blue"
Something about being trained to be a talker.

One of your guesses is close enough to the truth that we can just call it correct. I'm actually a little impressed.

I shouldn't tell you which.

>I shouldn't tell you which.
I don't want any spoilers.
