I am Daniel Speltin, top tier waste of potential and mid tier student, all round unimportant person about town.

I kick against the linoleum of the floor, frustrated. The stench of disinfectant, burnt flesh and blood fill emergency room.

Claire paces between the rows of chairs, muttering to herself.

It's been hours, Mia was ushered through the sliding door when we arrived, nurses talking to her in hushed tones, leaving the two of us in the dark.

The TV in the corner blares some shitty late night sitcom, blasting tinned laughter, as it remains frozen on some public channel. It grinds at my ears, as Claire keeps pacing back and forth, looking increasingly agitated and annoyed. "Supa Scurrry!" cries some catchphrase. I grit my teeth.

I stare at the phone in my palm, Mia left hers with me, nurses orders.

Claire has started kicking at the bolted down chairs now, the weak metal strains under her blows, drawing looks from the nurses.

One man at his desk, behind the laser proof glass, eyes a red button on the counter.

I kick out of the chair, grabbing Claire by the shoulders softly. She tries to shrug me off and keep pacing, but with a few gentle tugs, she concedes.

I lead her over to the desk, quickly explain to tne nurse that we'll be outside if Mia comes for us, before walking through the sliding door.

The late spring air is warm, frogs creak and croak in the night, looking for a mate, as cars bustle out of the city after a night of partying, heading back to the suburbs.

Claire exhales angrily, punching a wall and leaving a spiderwebbing series of cracks along it. "God DAMN it." She yells, wailing on the wall again. "WHY won't THEY- LET- US- IN?" she yells, punctuating the last few words with a series of punches to the wall, her hair blowing around her in the soft wind.

She spins on her feet, turning to face me, stomping the foot path, unleveling a few bricks as she does so. "We need to do something. Anything! I'm losing my mind!"

I step in close, a hand on either side of her face. "Shhh-sh-sh." I say, semi soothingly, tucking her head into my shoulder. "We'd just get in the way if we were inside. Can't you think of something to occupy yourself?"

She steps out of my grip, still looking angry. She snakes her hands under my armpits and bodily lifts me.

"Yes I can." She starts walking, dragging me into a somewhat darkened garden, pushing me against the wall of the emergency room entrance, she drops me.

I nearly fall, as I hit the floor, staggering against her for balance.

She just pins me backwards. "You're going to fuck me. Now!" She commands, tugging at her shorts in the half light, angry glint still in her eyes.

I grip at the waistband of her shorts, struggling to pull them back up. "Claire no." I tell her, quietly, but firm. "Not while Mia's mum might be.... hurt."

She moves her hands, squeezing at my crotch. "Come ON! I need to blow off steam." I take advantage of this to tug her clothes back up, before swatting her hands away.

I wrap her in a hug, "Not now." I reaffirm, kissing her forehead. Claire growls and punches the wall again, splintering another chunk of concrete.

We stand in silence for half a minute, before the door can be heard rattling open. Light footsteps scuffle along the pavement, until Mia appears around the side of the building, taking timid steps.

I let go of Claire and quickly run over. Even in the poor light, I can tell her face is red and puffy, tears have left salty trails down her face, caught on the edge of her lips, still burgeon in her soft blue eyes.

I step in closer, wrapping arms around her softly, Claire instantly joining in, anger fading.

We hold the small girl, as she shakes silently in our grip. Claire rubs her back reassuringly, as we wait for her to say something.

She just stands arms limp at her side, for god knows how long, tears soaking into my shoulder once more.

Eventually she mutters something, inaudible, the only part I catch is "wheelchair" and a cold chill settles in my stomach.

She slowly lifts her arms, squeezes once, before pulling away, wiping snot and tears on her jacket sleeve.

Guys, do we heal them or not?
If yes, when?
If not, why?
>>
>>35562191
I'm thinking no because there are too many unknowns with Claire's healing powers, and if the hurt transfers to her, then we traded one cripple for another.

Besides, now Mia can work towards drawing her mom some permanent awesome exoskeleton legs or the worlds greatest wheelchair
>>
>>35562191
If we heal her we run the risk of Claire then having to be in a wheelchair and that would literally ruin her life. Not worth.

Some things just can't be fixed with superpowers Anons. We're not here to fix, we're here to help.
>>
>>35562202
Mia's drawings are invariably temporary. Think we might have to see how far Claire can push her powers on this one.
>>
>>35562172

>>
>>35562215
>Mia's drawings are invariably temporary
Only because we know so little about them or how they work we haven't figured out something permanent yet, maybe if she drew something in concrete.

>Think we might have to see how far Claire can push her powers on this one.
Fuck no we are not risking Claire's life for this, we'll help but we are not doing that. We don't even know how bad it is or whether she can get help from superscience hospital that's used to dealing with heroes and villains
>>
>>35562233
No idea what that is but it sounds half decent
>>
>>35562211
Do Claire's healing powers transfer damage back to her? I don't remember that being the case.

This is all rather dependent on the nature of her wounds themselves. Are we talking severed ligaments, or spinal damage level stuff here?
>>
>>35562252
We simply don't know enough about her powers to even consider experimenting with something this big, that's like detonating a nuke just because we don't know the atomic composition of Lithium 6
>>
>>35562252
We don't know for certain but we've seen some suspicious behaviour from Claire that indicates it might. Remember when we healed Rosa's ribs? Claire was clutching her side in pain a few threads after.
>>
>>35562259
>a few threads after
That's a pretty huge gap in time, and considering Claire's general life-style she could have bruised herself in some normal way. We should at least figure out what the damage to Mia's mom is. If it's something the body could conceivably heal on it's own with enough time we could at least consider it.
>>
>>35562245
Given that this world runs off anime cliches, I somehow don't think that giving Mia's mom the same prosthetic as a girl who gets raped by big-dicked futas daily is a good idea.

On the plus side, Mia's mom would be netori'd away from Dave, who is nearly as suspicious as Empty the cat.
>>
>>35562293
>If it's something the body could conceivably heal on it's own with enough time we could at least consider it.

Claire nods, "Whatever it takes."

Mia sniffles, looking back at the door. "Rosa... said... that Claire fixed her ribs?" She mumbles. "When you two, did something?"

She looks devastated, as she stands in the light pouring out from the waiting room, bathed in soft white from the halogen lights, the hospital whirrs away quietly, the frogs croak on, traffic whooses past.

Tell her we can try.
We haven't tested the healing power enough to know its limitations.
>>
>>35562321
I meant we could see if we could use Claire's abilities to speed up the process by healing her incrementally. Patch her up a tendon or two at a time, and let Claire recover between sessions so she can operate normally in day to day life.

Either way I wanna know what the fuck happened to her.
>>
>>35562335
We need info on the nature of her injuries before we can do anything. If Mia can't tell it straight find the doc who patched her up.

It is something that requires more information to make a decision on, and as much as I would like to have Claire try, we simply do not know enough to help right now. We might not be able to help immediately, but we will, have faith Mia. C'mon, let's go see your mom."

"I'm FINE!" Claire cuts in, "I wanna heal her."

I sigh, "Well... Mia, could you maybe tell us what happened to her?" I ask as gently as possible.

She swallows, blinking her tears away, she chokes out. "Her... spine, it's all messed up, metal chunk landed on her car. And her legs they're all..." She makes a face, "Twisty."

Claire steps forward, kissing the shorter girl. "I'll do it!" She looks over at me, "C'mon Danny." Her hand extends to me.

>>
For the record, nerve tissue doesn't really regenerate naturally, so if anything is going to fail, it's probably that. It's kind of why spinal damage is such a big deal. Claire seems to be fine with most other kinds of tissue, but we have no precedent to indicate she can fix something on this scale. Make no promises, other than maybe trying. Claire's reckless as fuck, so we need to be her voice of reason, no matter how much we all want to help. Maybe we tell Mia what the odds are, but not Claire - wouldn't want to mess up her odds because we made her doubt herself. I agree with trying to hook up Claire with to some monitoring equipment, but I also agree that doing this right here, right now, might be a bit risky. If we can get around that somehow (maybe with Eri's help, if she can share invisibility? or maybe using Mia's barrier?) we should at least agree to try.
>>
>>35562606
>doing this right here, right now, might be a bit risky.

I take Claire's hand and follow them back inside. Mia asks for us to be let through and the nurse nods, buzzing the door open.

Inside, Mia leads through a ward, where you come to a shared room, a quarter drawn closed by a hanging sheet, for privacy.

Dave sits in the bedside chair, staring dead ahead at a wall, eyes dull, he doesn't even acknowledge Mia's return, nor Claire and I.

Mia's mum lies on the bed, hooked up to a breathing machine and IV, underneath the sheets, her legs seem to be pointing at angles that make my stomach feel queasy, her arms and face are bloodied, cut and bruised.

The once vibrant women looks broken.

I ask Mia where he doctor is, ducking out to find her. The serious looking woman explains that a sheet of metal from the shining miracle super forces robot was torn loose, and flung a whole block in their last battle. It just so happen to fly directly into Mia's mum's car, crushing the hood and her midsection. "She's lucky to be alive, really." She adds. "But she'll have to be in a wheelchair, if- when she wakes up."

I thank her quietly and scurry back, drawing the curtain behind me. Dave still stares, dead to the world, slumped on a palm. Claire cracks her neck, before offering me her palm.

"Just... maybe try and start small?" I ask, "Like her legs." Claire nods, holding her hand out again.

I look between the two girls and Dave, before taking her hand. Mia slides the near papery bedsheet down.

I cringe instinctively, while Claire holds fast. There's no way her bones are intact, the legs are twisted and shredded in a manner that would throw off even the weirdest cripple fuckers. Bits of bone protrude skin out in random places all along her legs, even under the bandages.

Claire takes a deep breath and lays her free han on the woman's thigh. She squeezes my palm and a look of concentration descends over her.

A piece of bone descends, moving back to what seems to be a healthy position. Claire smiles grimly, despite her concentration, as another pops back downwards on the other leg.

She squeezes tighter and tighter, hurting my hand, until she screams in pain. Her hand slips loose and she collapses to the floor, howling in pain.

She clasps at her legs, still screaming, as Dave snaps out of his reverie, looking around.

I kneel down and try to help Claire, shifting her hands aside to see what's happened to her.

Her legs look fine, no twists or protruding bone, just regular toned and tanned Claire legs. But she grips them and screams all the same.

This. Take off our jumper and roll up a sleeve so she can bite down on it.
>>
>>35562963
Get her something to bite down on, like a balled up shirt.

>>
>>35563094
that's a good idea anon
>>
>>35563127
Only if we can get it to work. I think it was based on fear, so she should have plenty to work with, but the only power she's trained has been materializing her art.
>>
>>35562963
So should we stop or keep going guys? We've barely even started and she's in this much pain
>>
>>35563160
>should we stop
Hell fucking yes we should stop.
>>
>>35563137
...Having said that, I kind of don't want to make her do it. Most of the other powers we've discovered come from negative emotions. Not fun.
>>
>>35563160
Not really a question. Yes, we stop. Even if there's no actual injury, pain puts stress on the body.
>>
>>35563160
Do you even need to ask?

Fuck no we don't keep going.
>>
>>35563160
Claire's decision. If it's only pain that she suffers and not actual injury then there's no reason not to
>>
I pull upright into a sitting position, whipping my shirt off and balling it into her mouth. It helps muffle her screams, as well as stopping her biting anything.

She twists and writhes as I hug my arms around her, trying to hold her still, but mostly being shaken like a rag doll.

I refuse to let go of her however, holding her as she screams the pain out. Mia just keeps apologising over and over again, as my glasses get shaken loose, clattering to the floor.

Dave shouts back confused as to what the hell is happening, as he draws his wifes blankets back up.

Mia's breath is starting to come ragged and uneven now, she flops to her knees, hyperventilating and gripping her head, apologising endlessly.

Eventually Claire stops, going limp in my grip, exhausted, her eyes focus lazily on me, as I slowly lay her down on my lap.

Dave stares expectantly, leaning over the bed, while Mia trembles.

The first two. Not the third.

Dave is markedly less of a priority.

To elaborate on comforting Mia: Claire knew the risks and was willing to take it because she wanted to help. No one is going to hold it against her, and Claire is a sturdy girl. Thankfully, she heard us out, and we didn't end up with Claire suffering some kind of paralysis.

I lie Claire down fully on the linoleum, retrieving my sodden shirt from her mouth with a soft 'pwah' sound as I remove it.

I tug the shirt on, before moving to hug Mia. "It's okay. It isn't your fault. Claire wanted to help, and probably would have tried even if you hadn't asked." I pull her hands down soflty, turning her chin to look at me. Her eyes are still screwed shit, and more tears are running down her face, her breath still hitching in and out. "It's. Not. Your. Fault." I repeat, slowly and gently.

Her hyperventilating slows, but she curls up in a foetal position.

"What the hell are you doing!" Dave hisses, rubbing the bags under his eyes.

I look, from the two near catatonic girls to the man. "Dave, I am trying really hard to handle this. Just... could you give me a minute."

He just looks angry, "Giv- yo- min-" He runs fingers through his hair. "My wife is dying right in front of me, and you want me to give YOU a minute!?"

Mia curls up tighter, her trembling redoubles.

Too much info. We're trying to avoid getting the girls dragged out into the open. Also, don't point out the girl's condition - Mia's already pretty sensitive to that.

>>35563654
I get that, but if Dave is too panicked to be of any use we need to be the adult in the room. That doesn't (shouldn't at least) involve stomping people underfoot.

His panicking is putting stress on Mia and making the problem worse. He needs to be neutralized as a contributor to the crisis, before he makes it worse, by putting him down and making sure he stays down. Putting a foot down on his neck would be most satisfying.

"Mia's not your kid." I retort, rubbing the burning skin.

His eyes narrow dangerously, he walks around the bed, stepping on my glasses, accidentally or not, I'm not sure. "Yeah, well she's my fucking responsibility, and I have every fucking right to fucking get you fucking kicked the fuck out!" He hisses, standing over the three of you.

"Fine. We'll leave until you change your mind. But I think Mia should come with us. I've helped when she was like this last time." I tell him, quietly.

Dave gives you a grim smile. "Last time, huh? When was that?"

I think back. "Two... Three weeks ago?" I think I've got that right.

Dave shakes his head. "Well then, it seems you missed a few there champ, ones that me and Janine dealt with. But, if you think you know what's best, go ahead."

You look to the blue haired girl, gently asking what she'd prefer, but she gives no answer, other than her trembling slowly decreasing.

>Take Mia with you
>Leave her here
>>
>>35564754
>>35564794
Seriously, she can't do anything about it from here, and Dave's not even her father. She'd be better off with her friends, and not in the hospital with a pretender and her catatonic mother.

Because leaving someone in the situation that triggered the panic attack isn't the way you deal with it.
>>
>>35564794
I also don't want to leave Mia behind, but I think that pulling her away from her mother's side wouldn't be good for her either.
Also, I think that this would prove to her that she shouldn't listen to Dave at all because he's an incompetent who can't keep it together when under stress, and being dependent on him is like depending on a rotted out wooden bridge to be safe to cross with a Mack truck.

>>
>>35564882
>He is having the correct emotional response for when a love one is dying in front of him.
He is the one preventing aid workers (us and Claire) from properly seeing to the patient and when we've started the healing process, demanding that we get out.

He is the exact kind of family relation that needs to be kicked out of the hospital, because he's nothing but a danger to the patient.
He can't keep it together, when it's the exact time he needs to be calm to assess the situation.
He's not acting logically or rationally, and so he deserves no respect.

I pull Mia upwards, getting her standing, I hold one of her hands as I heave Claire upright as well. She seems unstable on her legs, walking with a definite limp as I drag the two girls out, without another look at the man.

Dave sighs, and shuts the curtain behind us, I can hear him collapse back in his chair, soft sobs echo down the hall as nurses and patients watch me pull the two girls along.

I ask Claire if she wants a doctor to check her legs, but she just grits her teeth, "Fine. Don't want those nerds touchin' all my goods. They're for you." She seems rather obstinate about it, forcing the limp out of her step, pulling herself off me.

I push the button, letting us out through the ward door and into the waiting room, before pushing onwards, into the night air.

The stars twinkle overhead, frogs croak, traffic whooshes and Mia pulls her hand out of my grip, sitting in the middle of the footpath, backlit by the lights inside.

I zip Mia's jumper up for her, and she tucks her legs up inside it, retreating her arms inside the sleeves as well.

She almost resembles a puffy ball by this point, with a blue topping. I feel an insane urge to giggle, before suppressing it, Wouldn't help.

Claire and I both hug an arm around Mia and sit in the dim light, listening to the sounds of the night. I notice a new noise, under the frogs and traffic, the faint buzzing of the lamps set about the garden, electricity humming through them, and in the far distance, the sound of splashing water.

Across the road, Mr O. chases a bunch of delinquents down, wearing nothing but white pants and a headband with candles in it.

Must be a weird sex thing.

Eventually Mia clears her throat, a tiny noise. "(go ahead and leave me. i'm too much effort. i can handle myself.)"

In Katawa Shoujo, one of the girls had horrible scars and was quiet, withdrawn, and frequently had panic attacks.

In the bad end, Hisao white knights for her in increasingly obnoxious ways, culminating in him telling her not to go outside because her ugly scars might make people say things about her.

She then snaps, has a huge monologue about how much of a shithead he's being, and leaves him for good. Or commits suicide. I can't remember because Rin was so bestgirl.

She nods slowly, and I reach across to shake Claire awake. She groans a little, rubbing her thighs, before snapping here eyes open. "I'm up!" She leans in and kisses Mia on the cheek again., earning a ghost of a smile from her.

The traffic has finally died down, leaving the frogs to fill the silence.

I collapse on my mattress, springs squeaking in a pained moan, as I apologise, rolling over to cuddle the girl next to me.

Mia. I can recognise her smell, soft and sweet, kinda treeish. I cuddle into her, patting the mattress around her, but no abs avail to my seeking. Claire must've crashed on the couch.

Yep there's her snoring. Oh well, Mia probably needs it more. I nuzzle into the back of her neck, cuddling her close.

I give her one last kiss on back of her head, before I doze off.

I jolt awake around midday, eyes obscured by yellow.

I swat at my forehead and a sticky note comes away. Claire's chicken scratch handwriting reads: "Tok Mia 2 hospitale. Meet up home arownd 5?" The question is followed by a love heart, most likely drawn by Mia and a crudely drawn jizzing cock, more likely Claire.

I roll upright, getting changed out of the old musty clothes I'd been wearing. Actually, I should probably take a shower.

I dry and go hunting for my sister, for once I find her in the garden, sitting in the hammock I strung up between the trees, reading something. Most likely more yuri.

"Yo." I greet, pulling one of the chairs from the outdoors table around.

Eri snorts. "Morning sleepyhead. What kept you out so late?"

I shift a little uncomfortably. "I was at the hospital.. Mia stuff."

Eri winces. "Whoops. Sorry, I'll.... go easy around her. And so should you, don't go trying to fuck her as a cat anymore. Can't be good for her psyche." She positions her book between her face and mine, as you recall she was there as well... and yet made no mention of that.

I clear my throat, "Well, do you want breakfast? I'm cooking."

She nuzzles into the hammock a little more, whining. "Unhhhh, but I just go commmmmmfyyyyyy." She sighs, leaves her book and follows me into the kitchen. I set about cooking some omelettes; if I need brotein, Eri really needs it.

I wave, before rolling into the hammock opening the manga back to where she bookmarked it, instantly greeted by an ahegao.

Hmmm, I thumb forwards and backwards a few pages, and sure enough she was reading a yuri hentai. Ah sister of mine.

Oh well, I lie back into the recesses of the hammock, enjoying some yuri. I keep the bookmark, the one I stole back for her, and thumb through it, hidden from sight to Dad.

Of course I'm not going to jerk it to a rather lazily drawn doujin this close to Dad, so I set the book down again.

Seems I got wrapped up in the reading however, as I check my phone, I see two hours passed. Dad's fucked off inside the house, presumably, without me noticing.

Not to you, but it was obviously important to the girls.

I like her but this isn't really the time for sex. Like duck what if Mia walks in to say her mom just died to find us stuffing it to someone.
>>
>>35569733
Not especially, she's kind of creepy.
This doesn't really seem like a good time for much of anything.
>>
"C'mon, I need some dancing lessons. (Among other things.)" I add the last part as a murmur, showing her to my room.

She starts blaring some gooey romance song off her phone as I click the lock shut. "Alright, well I guess... put your hand here... and hold my hand with your other one.... up here." She positions me, dipping her knees to the beat.

"How lewd." I comment, only to be shushed.

"Aliright, when I go back, you go forward. But you've got to lea- oh who am I kidding Claire's going to lead the fuck out of you." She adds smiling.

"Hey!" I flick her cheek lightly.

"It's true!" She laughs, "You might need this for Mia, but Claire will lead you like a cow."

I grin back, a wicked edge to my smile, "Cow huh? Big words coming from the udder queen!" I add, nodding to her chest.

She just laughs, tugging me backwards and sideways around the room. "Udder queen? That's the best you got? Weee-eak"

"Honestly, yes." I shrug, "Now, on with the dancing woman!" I snap in mock annoyance.

Something heavy slams into Eri's connecting wall, but we ignore it. Rosa leads me through some ballroom, slow dancing 'properly' and some bullshit square dance thing that apparently is a thing that our school allows.

"Yeah? Hard, huh? Try it in heels some time bitch boy." She pushes me away and I keel over onto my bed. I check my phone, the others should be home any minute.

"Thanks for the lesson Rosa. It's nice to know a girl that's emotionally-.... well, that doesn't break buildings or summon demons that eat my wallet. Or kick my ass over video game taste."

She shrugs, sitting with me. "Not a problem." She plays a hand up the sheets between us. "I just wish well... never mind."

"What?" I ask, genuinely curious.

She shrugs. "I just wish that I could.... I don't know get some friends... like me? Magical girls? Y'know? It was really lonely for a long while. Just me and MT fighting."

I recall a conversation the cat and I had a while back, clearly she doesn't know it was Claire and Mia, that were going to be recruited.

She sighs wistfully "MT said something about other girls in town.... that they'd be my friends forever and ever... Then he just stopped talking about them. He just kinda accepted that I should be lonely, I guess. And I guess I will too. In time." She shrugs. "But I have other ways of making people like me.... at least for a while."

LAST!

Thanks for running Chuckles as always. Dem emotional cliffhangers are the best.
>>
So... does she use magic to make people like her, or fuck them?

both seem bad, but in different ways, considering we sexed her the first time we hung out
>>
>>35570248
>"But I have other ways of making people like me.... at least for a while."
Well that's not ominous.
>>
>>35570248
>"But I have other ways of making people like me.... at least for a while."
Does this mean that she's lewding with us in exchange for friendship, or does it mean that she has some terrifying mind-control power?
>>
>>35570248
Thanks for running, Chuckles.
>>
>>35570330
She's talking about her body and her money, you dense anon.
All she has is her body to get people to like her.
That's why she wants to hang out with us, Claire, and Mia. Because maybe we'll like her for more than just her tits.
>>
>>35570355
That's not even a cliff it's a fucking zipline

cool, we avoided having the turned into immortal beings.

We like her for the udders and glitter, right?
>>
>>35570385
>We like her for the udders and glitter, right?
I like her because, while she has loneliness issues, she's still more emotionally grounded than Mia or Claire, and can help them keep it together.
>>
>>35570377
Attached to two cliffs, anon. Thus, the joke.
>>
>>35570385
No, We like her because Claire likes her and the glitter is annoying.
>>
>>35570439
We just need to comfort her a lot and make her feel loved.

No problem.
>>
wasnt this foreshadowed a while back now i think about it

she seemed transfixed by the documentary about 'not' sailor moon with her sailor scouts
>>
>>35570385
I like her because she seems to really like us. Like we have no reason to not like her, she doesn't mope around like Nej, or think herself better then everyone cause she has powers. I assume at one point she was a background character like us with no friends, and she made a deal with MT to be a hero so she could make friends. But since we appear to be the only people who talk to her that must have failed.

dont you point that thing at me anon

thanks for playing anons, time to sleep, cos its 7am in the blasted spider wasteland
>>
>>35570495
I just want to hold her hand, kiss her on the lips, and tell her that she's not alone, she has us, Claire, and Mia now.

And her, Claire, and Danny can have that private show she was talking about back at the dress shop, tonight or tomorrow.
>>
>>35570495
That probably wasn't a very good deal on her part, she's just constantly wearing herself out and spewing glitter everywhere
