LAST TIME ON CODE GEASS QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/35609359/#p35616208

Thread times and updates posted here: https://twitter.com/Crosswire

A.T.B 2017, 26th of September
Area 11(Former Nation of Japan), 6:00 AM
Mt. Odake Base

Your name is Xinlu Kuu...but that’s just a lie.

No one can be allowed to know your true name, after all joining the military under a false identity is illegal enough as it is, if anyone found out you'd been mentally institutionalized prior to joining it could complicate matters even further. Even as Kuu it wasn't easy joining the military, your ‘condition’ almost got you turned away for being medically ineligible for service. It took the pulling of a lot of strings by your late father’s friend, Dr. Pailsen, just to get your new identity setup and have your condition overlooked.

When you joined the military you expected it to be a test of your will and felt that deep down getting your revenge wouldn't be a simple matter of learning how to fire a gun. What you didn't expect was nearly being killed 8 weeks into your training during some rigged simulation battle.

It was difficult getting any sleep after yesterdays event’s, but you managed to get enough shuteye to function properly. You were left out of morning PT, probably because whatever training they had intended to give you and the other recruits (if they intended anyone to live at all) was canceled on account of mass trainee death.

Rick was nice enough to wake you up for breakfast and you go to the mess hall with him and the others to eat. You don’t feel particularly hungry, but since you’re not injured you don’t think you’ll be allowed to skip out on training and you’re not sure you want to.

After helping yourself to some fresh eggs, toast, and a bit of fruit you sit down with Scott, Bill, and Rick. Like yesterday the others aren't particularly talkative, despite looking better and seeming less shaken, it's obvious they're still very justifiably pissed over what happened. As you pick at your food and try to think of something to say, Bill suddenly kills the silence.

“Someone’s coming to talk to us.”

“Really? Where?” Scott looks around in confusion, getting a bemused sigh from Bill.

“Not now dumbass. Some investigator was sent here and will be arriving to ask us about that 'simulation' yesterday. He’ll be here at 0700 hours, so about an hour from now.”

Rick checks the nearby wall clock and frowns. “That’s not soon enough. I heard that those red shouldered guys are clearing out before that.”

“So? They’re still part of the military, it’s not like they can just leave and everyone will magically forget they killed 25 recruits in cold blood. We may be commoners, but we’re still Britannian citizens.” Scott stabs blindly at his plate as he looks to Rick, accidentally skewering his toast instead of his eggs.

“I donno know man, Drill Sergeant Delson doesn't seems to be going anywhere in a hurry. If that smug bastard is staying behind he must be sure he's not gonna get crucified for this” Rick grits his teeth and grips his cutlery likes he wants to stab it into everything besides the food in front of him.

“There has to be something we can do…” Bill mutters before everyone fall silent once more.

>Suggest that they all investigate. Try and dig something up on who were piloting those red shouldered Glasgows and what Sargent Delson’s involvement in this is for when the Investigator comes.

>Suggest they find Delson, drag him somewhere private, and interrogate him for information.

>Suggest they investigate

As tempting as the idea of dragging Delson off, beating him half to death for information, and then bleeding him out behind the dumpsters is, there's no guarantee you'd get anything useful out of him before he died.

"Well if the investigator is coming to talk to us, why don't we make sure we have something to tell him?" You ask as take a few bites of egg.

"What, you want us to go snooping around for evidence or something?" Rick asks, a look of intrigue on his face.

"We have about 25 minutes before training starts. If we leave now we might be able to find something in Delson's office." You explain, rousing a smile from Rick and Scott. Bill looks a little hesitant at first, but his expression softens and he gives you a nod.

"I asked around yesterday and apparently no one's seen any of the pilots of those Red Shouldered machines walking around. I didn't get a lot of time to look into it, but I found some huge modified Knightmare trailers here on base. Whoever attacked us and killed the other recruits might be staying and working out of those trailers."

"Yeah I was about to suggest that too. They're leaving pretty soon though, so there will be guys crawling all over the place there, though that might work to our advantage if we approach things properly..." Rick says, looking rather excited.

"Well wherever we go we need to get something that proves this was all intentional, or will at least make this Investigator doubt whatever honeyed garbage Delson is going to spout." Scott pushes away his tray and looks to you.

"We don't have a lot of time though. Maybe we should split up?"

"We'll probably get better results and minimize the risk of getting caught if we all go to one place together." Bill states.

"Let's just make up our minds already, times awastin!" Rick snaps.

Everyone looks to you for input and you decide...

>Investigate Delson's Office together.

"Splitting up sounds like a pretty bad idea, besides we'll have a better shot at finding evidence if we all work together. To be honest I don't know what would count as evidence, but if there's anything related to what happened it's probably in Delson's office. Let's go there." You say, getting nods of agreement from everyone.

Not wasting any time, you, Scott, Bill, and Rick make your way through the halls of the base to the office area. Normally a lot of areas of the base are restricted especially to Trainees, but since the private offices and the general offices share the same space, you manage to get in by saying you're all there to ask about rank pay.

It's not hard finding the door to Sargent Delson's office, but you spot a receptionist sitting at a small desk just a few feet away. She has a rather foul look on her face and is typing away at a computer, oblivious to you.

>Try to sneak by and enter Delson's office.

Hiding around a corner you look to the others and whisper.

"There's a receptionist near his office, any of you good conversationalists?"

"I the receptionist a women?" Rick asks with a confident smirk.

"That or a very oddly dressed man." You reply.

"Don't worry guys, I got this." Adjusting his shades Rick walks over and begins chatting with the receptionist. Not only does Rick block her view but he manages to keep her completely distracted, allowing you, Scott, and Bill to get over to Delson's office door with ease.

Checking the door, you find it's thankfully unlocked and quietly slip inside. The office is almost disturbingly tidy and clean, no cluttered papers, or potted plants. Just a desk, a chair, a work computer, some basic officer supplies, some cupboards on the surrounding walls, and a few awards and diploma's hung up on the wall.

The smell of cleaner in the room is so strong it makes your stomach turn a bit.

"Guy must be a real neat freak..." Scott mutters, holding his nose.

"Yeah, let's see if we can find anything and get out of here..."

Bill immediately goes to Delson's computer and Scott begins to search the surrounding cupboards. You look around and frown when you see just how little is in the room, it's clean but there's not much in it besides the basic essentials. Everything is neat and organized, but you wonder if that's because Delson wants it to be clean...or wants to hide something.

"Jeez, everything's so drenched in cleaning crap that you can practically smell our finger prints" Scott mutters, finding nothing but paper and emptiness inside the cupboards on the walls of the office.

"As long as we'll find something I doubt anyone will give us much thought, especially if we can find something to get Delson thrown in the brig. I think the Investigator will overlook how we found the evidence to a crime of this nature, considering just how many trainees died..." Bill types away at Delson's desktop, guessing passwords and doing his best to get into it.

You stand in the middle of the room and think.

If you were going to hide something where no one would notice it, where would you hide it? Or rather, where would be a place you could put something and have everyone look it over? You look to the pictures on the wall and wonder if he has some kind of secret safe, but then you remember the letter.

You almost get a headache, but you focus on where you found the letter, not the contents. Moving over to the desk and you look down the small gap between the desk and the wall. There you see a small, black rectangle...

Reaching down you pull out what appears to be a tiny personal laptop.

"This probably has something important on it, try getting into this instead." You hand Bill the laptop and he powers it on. He types a few things in before frowning, flipping the laptop over, and typing something else in.

The screen flashes and boots to the main menu.

>(1/2)

Dayum Shirley, why you so competent when you a mindraped druggy.

"Pathetic, the guy used the model number as a password." Bill scoffs as he begins clicking and browsing through the files on the computer. After a minute of looking he pulls up a file containing a list of names, one of which is yours.

The list has at least 70 other names, all highlighted in red and crossed out with little notes on the side like "Related to nobility on cousin's side", "Has mutual friends with benefactor", "General for a father".

When you get to the top thirty names you see comments like "Last in class", "Low simulation score", and when you get to your name "No living relatives."

Bill's eyes widen as he looks the names over, Scott grips of the back of his chair and grits his teeth.

"What hell? Did he specifically pick us out for that blood bath?" Why?"

"I don't know, but from the looks of it he seemed to be picking out people no one would miss..." Bill bites his lower lip and you notice the note besides his name says "Bastard Son".

Before you can have Bill look any further, you hear shouting outside of the office. Bill closes the tiny laptop and slips it into his uniform pocket. You three rush to the door and you peer outside to see Rick outright argueing with the receptionist.

"Hey! I was merely asking if you were a women, there's no need to get all offended!"

"What the hell is wrong with you? Shouldn't it be obvious?"

"He if you were a dude you'd be pissed off that I DID assume!"

The argument only seems to escalate further, so you and the others take the opportunity to leave. Walking out of the offices you're met by Rick a few minutes later, a large red hand mark on his face.

"Jeez, you try to be polite and people get all bloody offended. So what did you guys find?"

"A laptop with a list of names, our names, and probably a load of other stuff too. We don't have time to look it over though, we have training exercises in 3 minutes." You say, checking a nearby clock.

"Well I don't think it'd be a good idea to carry this with me. Don't want it getting crushed or broken. I think we should stash it somewhere until the investigator arrives." Bill says, patting his pocket.

"That's a good idea, and I have the perfect hiding spot." You hold out your hand and Bill hands over the computer without any fuss after making sure it was turned off. An evidence filled computer with a dead battery wouldn't do you any good.

The others leave to get to training on time and you go to the infirmary, where you find Dennzel on the same bed, bandaged up and ether asleep off his ass on painkillers. After making sure none of the medics were watching you slip the computer underneath his pillow and leave.

You get to training late and get screamed at by the instructor, which was thankfully NOT Delson. A couple hundred pushup and twenty extra laps leave you drenched in sweat, but you get the satisfaction of seeing Delson pass by with the look of a man about to shit himself.

He passes by, looking you over in the hopes that you might be carrying what he wants, but through your tight sweat drenched clothes it's apparent you're not carrying anything. After an hour of exercises and some Tonfa training in the Glasgows, you're called off to the side with the rest where a man in uniform waits for you.

Towering over you at nearly 6 feet tall, the man's uniform is a crimson red with padded shoulders and gold switching. He looks over you and the others with piercing blue eyes, his face somewhat obscured by the curly brown locks that hang from his head like drapes.

"I am Imperial Investigator Trace. You will all be asked about the events that transpired yesterday and if you do not give me your utmost cooperation in figuring out this mess quickly I will charge you with treason against king and country. Do I make myself clear?"

>(1/2)
>>
>>35631381
Everyone nods and you're lead off to the brig where Trace talks with each of you one by one. You're spoken too last and your discussion with Trace is short. You tell him what happened during the 'simulation' battle, the red shoulders, Delson's comments, and the laptop you found. He has someone retrieve it from the infirmary and looks it over.

He sits in silence going through the computer and frowns.

"Where did you find this?" He demands.

You've had to lie to protect yourself and your identity, but you don't see any reason to lie anymore then you absolutely must. How are you going to find the truth if you hide behind your own lies?

"You do realize that breaking into a superior's office and investigating without proper authority is against the law, do you not?" Trace asks with a frown, closing the laptop and staring at you with his icy eyes.

"I know that, but I isn't being an accomplice to murder and a traitor is a far worse crime? Besides didn't you say you wanted this issue solved quickly? Maybe I did break the law, but if anything I made your job that much easier." You cross your arms and stare back at Trace who just stares back in total silence.

"I'm going to overlook this for now, but only because I'm going to have my hands full dealing with Delson's interrogation and charges. Consider yourself lucky and remember, acting outside of your authority will only get you into trouble. If this had been under lesser circumstances I'd have you punished."

You don't respond and watch as Trace leaves the cell. You're released shortly afterwards and get the pleasure of seeing Delson dragged down the hall by MPs.

"Unhand me you imbecilic buffoons! Do you have any idea who you're dealing with?" Delson spots you and tries to lung out at you, but the MPs slam him into a wall as you pass by.

"You bitch! You're the one who went rooting around in my office? Aren't you? AREN'T YOU? I'll have you drawn and quartered when I get out, just watch! You'll regret the moment you thought you could get away by crossing me!"

Training feels a lot less harsh with the harm feeling of satisfaction and a small, but wholesome feeling of payback. You meet the others during lunch and they seem damn happy.

"You should have seen it Shirley!" Scott exclaims as you sit down with your food "That investigator arrested Delson in full view of everyone, right in the middle of a lecture on the importance of focus and putting your full effort into things. The guy just slapped the cuffs on him and had the MPs drag him away like he was a sack of friggin potatos!"

"Things worked out a lot better then I thought they would." Bill said, looking placid and relaxed for the first time since you met him.

"Yeah, but I wish I could have gotten out of this without pissing off that secretary. She was actually kind of hot!" Rick rubs the side of his face and you can't help but laugh.

"Well after the rather one sided conversation he had with me on the way back from my cell, I have a feeling he's not going to be able to weasel his way out of things. Even if he manages to run off, his military career is up in smoke."

You smile, feeling the warmth of happiness and satisfaction for the first time in ages. Not only did you expose Delson, but you did so without lying or killing anyone. Not that you would have minded killing him, however knowing the rat bastard will suffer longer this way just feels more pleasing.

You talk with the guys for a bit and eventually the conversation drifts to something weird...

“Hey have any of you seen some of the pilot suits they’ve recovered from the Black Knights? I heard there’s an unusual focus on the chest area for the female suits, almost like they’re trying to shot off their pilot's breasts.” Bill brings up suddenly out of the blue.

“Dude, have you SEEN what some of the female members of the Knights of the Round wear? Don’t get me wrong, when you’re in that kind of position you can wear whatever the hell you want, but I heard some of the female members don’t even wear undies!” Scott exclaimed, adding to the conversation without so much as a raised eyebrow.

“It makes sense, I mean the Black Knights ARE terrorists. Do you really think they’re going to follow public decency laws if they’re blowing up military installations? With the Knights of the Round, it’s probably because they’re crazy. No one who can fight as well as they do is sane in the head…” Rick fidgets with his shades before looking over to you.

“That makes me wonder...Hey Shirley, are you wearing underpants?”

Rick asks this as you’re in the middle of taking a drink and you practically drench poor bill in water.

Before you can make the still visible hand mark on Rick's face permanent, the table shakes and the lights flicker violently as something rumbles the entire base...

"Come on! We'll go to the Knightmare Garage and see if there's anything we can use to fight these bastards!" You say to the others before bolting towards the exit.

"Wait, what about Delson? Aren't you worried that he'll get away?" Rick yells after you as he and the others try to catch up.

"It'll be easier to squash the bastard when I'm in a Knightmare, now come on already!" You run as fast as your feet can carry you, having to hold back so you don't leave the others in the dust.

While most of the soldiers head towards the hangers, you go to the closer garage and find dozens of Glasgows and equipment waiting for you.

"Shit, don't tell me these are the same ones we used in that fight!" Rick shouts as he boards one to check it.

"Wooo! These things have fully charged batteries! We could use these if we want!" Rick shouts down.

"They probably have Sutherlands in the hanger..." Scott says.

"Yeah, but the hanger's probably where the terrorists have already hit. We go their now and we're likely to get shot. Besides there's plenty of weapons and ammo for us to use, we can load up and help the other pilots." Bills says as he goes over to check another of the Glasgows.

You...

"It's too late to go to the hangers, besides the only difference between the Sutherland and the Glasgows are some armor and some specs right? We'll be fine, we've piloted these more then we have Sutherlands. If you want you can go back for one though!" You tell Scott before boarding a Glasgow, starting it up, see the familiar boot screen, and smile at the sight of a full energy filler meter.

Getting the Glasgow to it's feet you find it has it's Slash Harkens like normal and is fitted with Tonfas like a lot of the Glasgows used for training are. All it's equipment seems to be working the ejection system is functional. Scott seems to have stuck with a Glasgow as three more rise up after you.

As everyone rushes over to the weapon racks to select their armaments, you think over what you want to bring out. Glasgows, as well as most Knightmares, can generally carry two hand held weapons, one in the hand and one on the rear hardpoint.

Ranged wise there's the stock standard RA-57K-7 coilgun you used in the previous battle, a 57mm machinegun with a 80mm grenade launcher. 300 rounds in the machinegun and six grenades in the launcher.

Then there's the 'Giant Cannon' the RA-100K-7 100mm Anti-Armor cannon. It's heavy and only carried 20 shots in a magazine, but packs a punch.

Melee weapon wise there aren't any lances or swords, but there are some Pick Hammers around. They're fairly light compared to swords and lances, a hammer like weapon with a single razor sharp pick.

How do you wish to arm yourself Shirley?"

You pick up the familiar RA-57K-7 two reloads for it before grabbing a Pick Hammer, giving it a 'gentle' practice swing and deciding to go with that. With both weapons in hand you look to see what your teammates picked up for weapons.

Scott and Bill went for 100mm Cannons with Coilguns are backups, while Rick picked up two coilguns with the obvious intent to duel wield them.

"Fuck yeah! No more surprises this time, let's show these fuckers what we can do!" Rick shouts and speeds towards the closed garage door.

"Wait, hold on a sec!" Bill activates the Factsphere on his Glasgow and spins the head slowly around.

"I'm getting reaction readings just outside the door, at least 5 other Knightmares moving towards us." Bill announces and you activate your own Factsphere to check as well.

Seeing through the thin door and walls of the garage, you see the heat signatures of 5 Knightmares. They're figures are blobby, but they have a similar shape to the Glasgow. It's hard to tell if they're coming to check the garage or merely headed past on the way to the other hangers.

"Well we can't just sit here! Let's jump em' and kick some ass!" Rick shouts.

Shooting through the door isn't as easy as you thought it would be and once you realize you don't know where to shoot you immediately wish you'd had everyone activate their factpsheres.

You, Scott, and Bill miss the enemy, but Rick with his duel Coilguns just shred two of them, bringing the enemy numbers down to 3. With the door essentially gone from all your gunfire you and the others launch forward, bursting through the remains of the door to engage the surprised enemy who desperately move to distance themselves from you.

Taking the opportunity you...

>Launch your Slash Harkens at the nearest enemy! (Power Consumption: Low)

You time your attack carefully and fire just as the knock-off Glasgow dodges, decapitating it with the first harken and goring the cockpit with the second one. As knock off crashes to the ground and skids across the stone, your allies make short work of the two remaining Burai, Scott and Bill blasting them to pieces with their cannons.

"T-that wasn't so hard!" Scott exclaims shakily. "These things barely moved better then we did!"

"Not surprising, these machines are basically Pseudo Glasgows. I heard the rebels refer to them as Type-10 Burai." Bill says, giving one of the smoking Knightmare husks a kick with his Glasgow.

"Hahaha! Now this is more like it! Battle isn't so bad when you're not charging at a wall of well armed Knightmares!" Rick laughs as you look around and try to get a grasp of what's going on.

To the east you see the hangers where most of the Knightmares and vehicles are kept. Even from this distance you can see the fighting there is pretty intense and one of the hangers is just engulfed in flames.

To the west you see the barracks, where the many explosive booms of rockets echo from. You don't see much gunfire going on, so it's possible their isn't much opposition on your side there.

Finally you see smoke rising from the other end of the main military complex to the south. It's hard to tell where it's coming from, but a lot of important things are in the south. The comms and command center...as well as the brig.

As the others look around you decide on what to do...

>Go assist at the hangers to the east.

>Go the south and make sure Delson hasn't escaped and that the enemy isn't going after the command center!

>Head towards the barracks and make sure the enemy isn't unopposed.

The northern most part of the base is where you are. That's were the cafeteria, the garage, and probably the infirmary are located. Since all the other areas seem busy and you took out the enemies here, it's unlike that this place will get attacked unless the enemy has reinforcements.

>>35634344
>>35634261
"Guys I see smoke to the south of us." You say, pointing out the pillar of smoke raising into the air like some kind of black ominous sign.

"Shit, isn't that where the Commander Center is?" Rick asks, wheeling over to you.

"The brigs are around there too..." Bill states.

"Damn it, you don't think Delson is working for the rebels, do you?" Scott asks.

"Doesn't need to be, all he needs to do is take advantage of the situation. Come on!" You motion for the others to follow and speed off in the direction of the smoke.

It takes five minutes to reach the other side of the base and what you find waiting for you isn't pretty. The remains of infantrymen are painted across the ground, bits of them splattered against the burning husks of tanks and APCs that are dotted across the area.

You can spy dozens of holes in the wall of the compound, through one you see what you guess is the remains of the command center, with whatever's left of the high ranking officers and probably the commander buried under a hundred or so pounds of rubble.

Thankfully you see the comms array is still upright and even though it's got a couple chunks out of it's frame you can hear someone transmitting a call for assistance over the radio.

Before anyone can curse or worry over the fact the man who's supposed to be giving everyone orders is dead, you spy four Knightmares pull around the corner, five 'Burai' and one rather odd looking Knightmare painted in orange and black in a tiger stripe pattern. clinging to the head of one of the Burai's is the cowardly figure of...Delson!

>(1/2)
>>
>>35634651
Upon spotting you Delson points a finger towards you and shouts something you don't catch to the rebels he's with before the Burai he clings to spins around and bolts in the other direction.

"Damn it, he's trying to get away!" Scott rushes forward and begins to wildly fire his cannon, sending arching shots over the head of the closer enemies in an attempt to hit the fleeing Delson. The shots fail to connect and the remaining Burai scatter, opening fire as the orange machine bolts forwards with frightening speed.

"Fuck! Scott get away from that thing!" Bill yells as Scott ignores his heeds and continued to fire on the now far off Delson carrying Burai.

As Rick unloads onto the Burai, Bill tries to land a hit on the orange machine to no avail, all the while you...

The orange machine notices you mid air and swings out with some kind of strange bladed katana, but you bring your hammer down faster and make contact with it's rigth shoulder. It's blade makes contact with the length of your hammer and pushes deflects it just enough to the side, to make the hit a glancing shot, but you still take a chunk out of it's shoulder armor and expose the right shoulder joint to the air.

Immediately upon landing the tiger strip begins laying into you, slashing wildly and trying to get around behind you. It's all you can do to keep up with it and block it's slices with the length of your hammer. The thing is fast and mobile, gliding around like it's on air. You're comrades fire into it, making it back off now and then once it begins to get a leg up on you, but the remaining Burai's fire on Scott and keep him away.

The Burai carrying Delson is nearly out of sight now and as try as Scott may, he can't seem to find an opening to go after him...

>Tell Rick and Bill to focus on the Burai and go after Delson, you'll handle this orange bastard.

>Tell Rick and Bill to handle the orange machine, have Scott lay down some fire so you can break past the Burai and go after Delson.

"Rick, Bill, take care of the Burai and go with Scott to get that bastard Delson!" You shout as you narrowly avoid another from the Tiger Stripe machine.

"But-" Bill says hesitantly.

"Just go! I can handle this punk!" You take a swing at the tiger with your hammer and spray your coilgun wildly, forcing the machine back and allowing Bill and Rick to push foward.

They along with Scott finish off the remaining Burai and rush after the rebel carrying Delson away, just as it turns a corner. The Tiger attempts to turn and chase them, but you fire a grenade in front of it to keep it close. You can't use your grenades at close range without risk of hurting yourself, but at long range the Tiger is at serious risk.

It spins around and charges you. You realize that without backup you probably won't be able to win in a drawn out fight. Your power is still strong at 91%, but this guy is just too damn fast. You need to end this fight fast or turn the tables somehow...

>Get into melee and use your grenade launcher at point blank. You'll take some damage and will probably lose your gun and the right arm of your Glasgow, but you're guaranteed to kill or cripple the enemy machine if you hit (Power Consumption: Moderate, Grenades 4, self-damaging)

>Use your remaining grenades to force the Tiger in a certain direction and launch your harkens to try and hit it's exposed shoulder joint and take it's sword arm. (Power Consumption: Moderate)

>Rush into melee and ditch your gun to free up your other arm, try to disarm the tiger of it's blade! (Power Consumption: High, difficulty high)

Realizing the only way you'll live through this is if you take the Tiger's sword you charge towards the tiger and aim your gun at him, getting to slow down and lose momentum by jerking around in preparation for your shots. Sucessfully fooling him you move quickly and chuck your coilgun away, sending it skidding across the ground as you close the distant between you and the katana wielder before he can remain his full speed.

Aiming for the blade you swing down with your Glasgow's hammer, readying your other hand for a grapple...

You faint with the initial swing to make it look like a miss, then you lift up your landspinners, step forward, and swing the hammer upward with both your Glasgow's arms, putting the maximum amount of force you can into the swing.

The Tiger Stripe fails to pull back and your hammer collides with it's hand, smashing the manipulator and sending it's Katana spinning into the air. It begins to fall almost immediately and you're able to catch it in the ready, open hand of your Glasgow.

With a test swing you cause the tiger stripe to jerk back, allowing you to replant your Landspinners.

"Not so tough without your sword, are you?" You say with a laugh, hammer pick in one hand, sword in the other.

"Filthy Britannian! Have you no sense of honor! A true warrior would-"

"You and your honor! I'll do whatever it takes to win, your false messiah Zero isn't any different!" You shout, fingers tightening around the controls.

"At least Zero's fighting for something then the whims of a petty, corrupt nation who thrive off the death and misery of others! The ends justify the means, but unlike you our ends matter! I may have failed my test, but I won't return in disgrace! You're dying here with me!"

The tiger stripped machine rushes and lunges at you, trying to tackle you to the ground...

Believing the Tiger lunging towards you with the intent of pulling some kind of suicide attack you swing your hammer out and make contact with his machine's head, crushing it like a tin can and knocking the tiger stripped menace to the ground. You quickly fire your slash harkens and skewer the legs, crippling the machine.

"I won't be captured! Even if you don't die I'll-"

You don't miss a beat as you thrust the super heated blade down towards the cockpit of the fallen machine. The blade pierces the cockpit like a hot icepick through a piece of paper and pulls out with the ease of pulling the knife from a cutlery block, leaving the prototype’s cockpit a gutted mess and filling the air with sizzling as the pilot’s blood and bile quickly cooks off the chain katana’s superheated teeth.

"I won't die" You say with a grin, looking down at the gruesome scene of death you've created with your two, surprisingly capable hands.

"Not yet. Not until Zero shouts the reasons for destroying my mind and my life! Not until he's at my feet begging for his life! Not until I can taste his blood on my lips as I cut the eyes from his head will I finally give in and forget!"

You can't help but laugh as you shout over your speakers, talking to nothing but the empty air. After spending...you forget how long laughing to yourself, you remember Delson and quickly collect your weapons. The sounds of fighting seem to have died down and when you find Rick, Scott, and Bill the base is eerily quiet.

Rick and Bill are out of their Knightmares, beating and kicking a pinned Delson while Scott keeps a look out. Parking your Knightmare you leap out and go over to the Drill Sargent, a horrifyingly cheerful smile on your face as you go over.

Delson is battered and bruised, but seems fine compared to what you want to do with him. Bill and Rick don't say a word, they just wait, occasionally hitting or punching the bastard when he tries to move or speak.

Your hands shake as you grab the sides of his head force Delson to look you in the eyes. The previously hardened looking man's eyes twinkle with glimmers of fear as he sees your giddy expression, as if he can see what you wish to do with him.

Thrusting you knee forward you knee him in the crotch, force him back to the wall, and put your knife to his throat.

"Bill, find something to tie the Sargent up with. We'll need something to hold him together long enough for us to get him to our superiors after we're finished with him."

You comrade merely nods at you, but Rick looks visibly angry.

"Why the fuck don't we just kill him now! He's already proven he's a traitor as well as a murderer!"

"Killing him now would be so much fun..." You say with a unrepressed giggle "But I don't think that would be painful enough. Oh no, our Drill Sargent is going to get a nice cell to sit in while he waits for his public execution!"

You pull your free hand back and nail him in the gut, causing Delson's knees to fold and forcing Rick to push him back up against the wall. After giving the man a bit of time to catch his breath, you pull the knife away from his throat and hold it in front of his right eye.

"I'm going to ask you once, and ONLY once. Why did you do it?"

Delson stays silent, going a bit crossed trying to focus on your knife before looking back to you, his breathing heavy and pained.

"The people I work for don't give reasons for doing things, only what will happen if you don't. I was to test the enhanced loyalty of the Red Barons by sending you fools to your deaths against them because that was what they wanted. I had everything set up to deny any responsibility for what happened. The Red Barons would have become criminals and I would have been looked over by the investigator. Only you had to live, you had to sneak into my office and find the one piece of evidence that would ruin me!"

"Enough whining!" Rick snaps, nailing Delson in the ribs with a firm punch.

"Who were you working for? Why were the rebels helping you? What do you mean by 'enhanced loyalty? Who are the Red Barons?"

Delson just shakes his head in disgust.

"I wasn't given names, only money and reasons. As for what 'enhanced' means I couldn't tell you, only that those mercenaries will now throw away everything, their honor, their countrymen, their families, and even their lives for their desire to serve the men I once worked for. The ones you killed were the weaker ones, the ones who's loyalty wasn't absolute, if anything you helped my employers. It's a shame that you had to stick your nose into things..."

"You didn't answer my question about the rebels!" You threaten, practically touching Delson's eye with the tip of your knife.

"They weren't helping me, they found me! I escaped my cell in the confusion and they were going to shoot me when I fooled them into thinking I had valuable intelligence. They would have probably brought me to their leader if it weren't for you..."

With that you nail Delson in the balls again put your knife to his throat as he coughs and wheezes.

"You have to have some idea who you were working for! An account number, a handler name, a bloody nickname, something!" You draw a little bit of blood as the knife digs a little into the skin of his throat.

"Nothing! I got all my money by dead drops I swear!"

"Fuck it! Let's just kill him here and now!" Rick shouts before bending over to pick up a rather large rock.

"W-wait! There was one name that showed up, but it was just mentioned once in the background of a untraceable call. Pluton! I don't know if it's the name of a place, or a thing, or a person. It could mean nothing, but that's all I know, I swear!"

You continue to beat and demand information from Delson, but you don't get anything else. Eventually Bill comes with some wire and you have the former Drill Sargent tied up.

We also just survived live-fire combat that WASN'T staged and rigged towards our failure. Shirley is going crazy because innocent people died for reasons beyond her ken, and the person she's kneeing in the balls right now is the man directly responsible. She just needs to vent.

great now we got mercs to worry about!

>>35637738
So the trainees were led to their death because he was actually helping the enemy cull the herd of their weaker members. That's why he was looking for people with no connections to throw against them.

Boarding your Glasgows, you pick up Delson and grasp him in your Knightmare's hand, the urge to crush him weighing down on you like a hydraulic press. A part of you is horrified at everything that's happened. You want to cry, you want to sob, you want to scream out and ask why this had to happen, why you had to do such things, why you WANTED to do such things.

But you don't, you hold back those feelings and those thoughts to avoid the urge to forget

You just focus on the task in front of you and move out with the others to try and see how many people survive the attack...

----------------------------------------------------

High velocity objects are often the most dangerous forces in the universe. They careen forwards, gaining more power the faster they go, but the stronger they get the more they lose control over where they’re headed and the more likely they are to come to pieces.

Shirley is gaining speed and momentum like a speeding train, smashing through obstacles and crushing those foolish enough to get in her path. But as she grasps power and tastes vengeance she quickly begins to lose control of herself.

Will Shirley lose control and be ripped apart, or will she stay on course and collide with her target?
Next time on Code Geass Quest:

STAGE 3! The ruins of a beacon of hope will be soaked with blood once more, but whose blood will be split?

Well that's it for tonight guys. God damn was that a lot of fun! Things are getting pretty damn dark, but this is only the start of things. Will Shirley find peace, or will her quest for reverence drive her completely mad? Only time will tell!

I'll be running Stage 3 next Saturday, I'll see you all then! Check my twitter for updates. I might lurk here for a bit, but I'll gonna crash and sleep soon.

Thanks for playing!

Looks like it's going well

Yeah it's been fun so far. Things have gotten pretty damn dark, but that's kind of what I was aiming for.

Code Geass isn't exactly a bastion of sanity and good times.

That's a good point, things got pretty fucked up in the show too.

>>35638167
What do you mean? Shirley's currently on an extended leave for therapy, her mental institutionalization was rather brief thanks to Dr. Pailsen intervening so it was never made public to here friends. Everyone just thinks she's torn up over her mother's suicide, completely ignorant to the fact she's joined the military.
>>
>>35638217
Aren't they keeping on contact?

How is Lelouch's surveillance?

How did the whole Geass-memory thing come about anyway?
>>
>>35638217
Just how VOTOMS are we going to get?
>>
>>35638217
did you find or make that pic?
I chuckled.
>>
>>35638217
How fast are we progressing in the ranks?
How good are we doing out of ten?
>>
>>35638265
I found it months ago. Completely forgot about it till just now.

>>35638238
Shirley's friends call quite a lot, but Dr. Pailsen takes most of your calls. At the moment she's not really ready to talk to them.

She has no idea weather or not Lelouch knows about her, but since she's not dead and he hasn't tried anything, she's assumed that he isn't aware that she knows about him.

As for the memory Geass, in this continuity Lelouch used a rather vague command in the hopes of making it so he could make Shirley forget whatever he wanted whenever he needed too. It back fired on him rather quickly as she not only forgot about him and what happened, but forget everything that was bothering her, the death of her father, childhood issues, and a lot more.

When Shirley found the letter in her room identifying Lelouch as Zero, (the one she wrote and threw away before her memory wipe) she was rather confused. However it all began to make sense when she began to gradually realize something was wrong with her memory.

Relearning about her father's death moments after her mother's suicide broke her and nearly drove her mad. Dr. Pailsen heard what happened and began counseling Shirley, becoming a confidant and coming to believe her after seeing what's happened to her mind.

Shirley is still a Trainee, but after this you can bet your ass you'll be made a private, maybe a step up from that considering everything you've done. We'll figure that out next week though.

As for how 'good' you are morally, well Shirley's blinded by rage, fear, and the inability to focus on the unpleasantness of situations without risking trying to 'forget' them. She's still the same girl, but she's been torn apart emotionally and mentally.

As for how good you guys did, you did a lot of things right. Killing Delson right off would have complicated things immensely and outright ignoring him would have come back to bite you in the ass HARD.

So yeah, you guys are doing fine.

>>35638481
Is Lelouch still attending school?

so we got the vague command! WE NEED TO TAKE HIS FUCKING EYES!
>>
>>35638502
Yes, last time Shirley checked. But that was weeks ago.

After the attack on the Special Administrative Zone and the Black Knights failure to intervene until an hours into the attack due to being caught in the middle of their agreed disarmament, Zero announced that the Black Knights would return in two months to free Japan and make Britannia pay for what happened to the Zone.

>>
>>35638654
ya I agree we must use it to take more honor away!
>>
>>35638654
You can try, but it'll probably get taken away for testing and research.

>>35638633
Zero agreed to support the Zone and Euphemia launched the Zone without any massacre occurring. The Black Knights were going to disarm and walk away. However armed militants attacked the Zone and began butchering the Japanese there with military grade weapons.

Because of the laws in place, the military, police, and emergency services used it as an excuse not to intervene and let almost a couple thousand Japanese civilians die. By the time the Black Knights arrived it was a nightmare.

The Zone fell apart after that, Euphemia tried to hold it together, but Zero withdrew his support and denounced it, with the Japanese fleeing back to the ghettos were they actually felt safer.

Don't call me surely/Shirley jokes when?
