You whip off your cloak and drape it over the chest in one motion. You wait a moment, and then whip the cloak away. The chest is gone, and you simply drape the garment over your shoulders once more. You really, really love this thing. You don't know how you got through life without it.

With that you have Chrys flip the rock back over to conceal the hole. You're sort of tempted to put something in there to replace the chest, some gold or something, but resist the urge. As amusing as it might be to contemplate some young initiate in the far future stumbling upon a thousand gold under a rock, you've more important things to attend to. You quickly make your way through the halls of the temple to the suite of rooms provided to you and your party, at which point you turn to face your companions. “If you need me, I'll be looking through the contents of that chest.”

Profectus slips away, his room is directly across from yours. “Later, Mik. You know where to find me.” Darzi, meanwhile, simply nods. Chrys squeezes your forearm gently in a brief, affectionate gesture. “Try not to get yourself into any further trouble the moment you are left alone.”

You frown. “I think I can go five minutes without putting the world at risk of destruction.”

Chrys shakes her head. “I would not be so confident of that fact, were I you.” With that disparaging statement, she makes her way to her own room.

You slip into your quarters and close the door behind you before whipping off your cloak and setting it flat on the floor. When you pull it away, a chest sits in its place. You note that the dirt has been meticulously scraped off, and the chest appears as if recently polished. Curious. You didn't know Ricky cleaned your stuff in addition to storing it neatly.

>>
You sit on the floor in front of the chest and lift the up the latch, there's no actual lock holding it in place. When you swing the top of the chest open, your eye is immediately drawn to a crystalline pyramid set within an ornate, bejeweled stand. Gnarled roots shot through with gold hold the pyramid, which seems to glow and pulse with some internal light, in place. The roots are in turn growing out of the heads of four bald male figures, each one inscribed with a strange symbol on the forehead. The gems that ring the base are ruby and saphire, the former square cut and the latter oval. They too seem to glow with power, curiously enough. The entire thing is supported by four pairs of hands, their fingers splayed out.

Surrounding the artifact are books. Dozens of books. They're packed together tightly, stacked on top of one another in layers, and crammed into every nook and crevice. There are even more loose sheets of paper, loosely bound together with string or simple scattered about the chest. Care seems to have been taken to make sure none of the books obscure the artifact at the center of the chest. Some of the books seem to be labeled, one title in particular immediately catches your eye. 'Hiacian Manual of Arms, 43rd Edition'. Despite the simple title, you can only imagine what techniques you might learn from such a tome. However, most of the books are unlabeled and, presumably, the Varistha's own work.

So this thing links to magic right? Since Water and Fire are our strongest abilities those are the only one shown in gems I guess? Each head represents Earth, Fire, Water, Metal while the branches represent Nature tying it all together? We should probably meditate on this. Lots of valuable info in here I bet.

Before that I'd like to try and talk to Ricky about the whole void monster situation. And possibly deal with whatever trouble Kadir is going to be.
>>
We never did talk to that chick we 'interrupted' about that wiggly meditation did we? It was implied we could work it in a battle mediation.
>>
>>35765461
Also haven't asked Ricky if he got anything from the search party at the beach.
>>
You gently lift the prism and its stand out of the chest. You're not actually sure whether or not you could remove the prism from its setting, but you're not particularly eager to try. As you set it down on the ground next to you, you notice a note which must have been hidden beneath the stand. Unlike the other loose sheets of paper this one has been cut significantly smaller, no larger than your hand. You pluck it up and begin reading.

“Mikhael,
If you're reading this, it means you paid the price to the spirit and I've gone off to meet my end. I want merely to express my sincerest gratitude. I have given up much of myself in my attempts to extend my own life, but I've done my best to record all that I remember in the tomes within this chest, and I imagine even a few things I've forgotten as well. I can't exactly be certain, you understand.

I have chosen you to receive this chest not simply because you have presumably made a great sacrifice in order to aid me on my way. In the brief period I've spent studying you, I have seen potential. Be that the potential to do something great or something terrible, I find myself unable to decide. However, I hope that by revealing the story of my life, my triumphs and my failures, to a young man in whom I see so much of myself I may be able to spare the world a tragedy.

One final note, the prism is an artifact of immeasurable power, and I urge you to use caution when using it. It allows one to view remotely anyone they are sufficiently familiar with. You need merely place your hands on the prism and focus on your memory of the person you wish to view. Consider this, along with everything else contained within this chest, my final gift.

May your days on this Earth be prosperous and fruitful, as mine seldom were.
Sehzade Rustami”

I'm all for doing that. Giving her that break was why we found the pirates in the first place. We may as well get the payment.
>>
You feel a pang of regret deep in your chest that the old man really is running off to get himself killed. It just strikes you as irresponsible, to abandon the world as he is. Then again, perhaps he is privy to something you are not. If that's the case, you'll likely be able to find it within the books and notes stored in this chest.

Your attention turns to the prism. You can't help but wonder if you might be able to view the Varistha's final moments of life, or perhaps check in on your family and your old Master in El-Amin.

What could possibly go wrong..

"Among the catastrophies that befell the nation a huge explosion off the coast is to be mentioned. Only a few days later, worst of all, the attack of a giant dragon that burned everything in its past began. Nobody knows what happened to anger it, but horrible curses at a certain "magic mik" accompanied its destructive rage.

You wrap your hands around the crystalline prism. You're unsure for a moment who you ought to view first, but really there's no contest. The chance to view the Varistha's last moments is too great an opportunity to pass up. You focus first on your memory of meeting him when you first came to the village, and then on your meeting with the Varistha in the gardens. Just as you're recalling the conversation itself, the memory is forced from your mind and the world goes black.

When you become once more aware of the world you're in unfamiliar surroundings. You see the Varistha perched atop the crest of a wave. Your viewpoint is strange, it's almost like you're looking down on him from behind. You can't actually see his face. You can see the island in the background, rapidly growing closer. It's hard to get a good estimate, but he seems to be impossibly high up, you would think him flying if you couldn't see the water beneath him.

A creature flits into view, slamming into the Varistha's shield. It's pierced through by shards of ice in a dozen places, but seems undisturbed by its mutilated state. Its claws cling to the shield only to be blasted away by a burst of pure concussive force. The Varistha turns an instant later to catch another flying creature as it approaches, a massive hand of ice sliding out of the wave he rides atop and grasping the creature in a vice-like grip. You get a better look at this one. Its wings are fleshy, leathery things. Like those of a bat. It has no eyes or ears that you can see. Instead, it's head reminds you of an earthworm. The rest of its body is like some sort of sick, twisted combination of a crustacean and a spider.

The hand shifts, a hole forming in the center. A blade of ice breaks off and slices open the creature's chest before breaking apart and taking the shape of two hands, which the Varistha uses to pry open the beast's body cavity. Inside seems to consist of soulless, empty void. Tendrils of black slide out towards the Varistha, but he jabs his spear into gaping wound and twist the handle. When he jerks the weapon free you see a strange, malformed organ impaled on the spear tip. One of the gems on the Varistha's spear flashes, and the next instant the strange organ and the beast it belonged to vanish.

There's no sound, but you can only assume that the wave thunders magnificently as it finally makes landfall. The Varistha seems to descend rapidly, you see trees being uprooted and carried off before him by the sheer force of the wave. The tower must have been engulfed completely, because you don't see it anywhere. The flowing water carries him all the way up to the base of the mountain, at which point he collects some of it into a swirling ball around himself and strides confidently into the ash waste.

A creature you're more familiar with, the hulking monstrosity with a torso dominated by a gaping, star-filled maw, charges into your field of view. It runs towards the Varistha on all fours, six of its compatriots quickly filling in behind it. In an instant, the first one is impaled completely upon a spike of ice, and three others are encased within stone. One leaps, and impacts against a wall of ice. Another slips in lie and gets beneath the Varistha's swirling dome of water. He deftly stabs his spear into the creature's hip and rips out an organ not dissimilar to the organ he ripped from the previous flying monster.

The creature vanishes, and the Varistha keeps walking. Five fist drift into view, each one holding the same organ you've seen ripped out of the two other void creatures. It's an odd thing, covered in a thick, black ooze. Sinuous veins stretch out of it from every angle, and the body itself reminds you of some sort of cancerous tumor. The Varistha makes a broad, sweeping slash with his spear and severs every organ at once, the hands falling away to either water or sand once they're no longer needed.

Much to your surprise the Varistha is caught off guard and bowled over from behind by another one of those flying creatures. There must not be much vegetation in the ash waste, or else he surely would've been able to see the creature as it approached. It occurs to you that the blast from setting off the gunpowder storage room wiped out all vegetation in quite a wide area. The Varistha may have trouble once he reaches the portal itself.

The Varistha has lost hold of his spear, but he's drawn a golden blade from the sheath on his hip. It seems to shine like the sun, runes inscribed along its length which seem to match the runes inscribed on the blade's sheath. He kicks the worm-like creature away from himself with seemingly impossible strength and leaps to his feet, charging after it. The worm creature attempts to take wing, but the Varistha grabs hold of its foot as it attempts to flee and drags it to the ground. He pins it beneath his foot and twist one of its rear legs violently, the limb snapping off before your eyes. Black blood spurts from the gaping wound where its leg once lie, and the creature scrabbles desperately against the ground in the hopes of escaping the Varistha even as the limb begins to regrow. He impales it through the head with his blade, twisting once. It vanishes in an instant.

The Varistha whips around, severed leg in hand. Unlike the rest of the creature, the limb remains. You're not sure why this is, but presumably once detached it was no longer part of the creature, and thus did not vanish when the creature died. He slams the end of the severed appendage into the head of another creature you recognize; the flaming, humanoid beast of stone and crystal. It reels away even as the Varistha cast aside the leg and leaps upon it with blade in hand and shield raised.

He slashes, but the blade skitters off of the beast thick, stone hide. However, an instant later the beast is contorted in pain, mouth spread open in what you can only assume is a screech. Its head caves in seemingly without cause, and is then ripped from its body. However, the body itself continues to writhe and struggle, apparently unaffected until its chest is ripped open to reveal that same organ you've seen many in the last minute or so. Black tubes stretch out in every direction, seemingly binding the creature together. The Varistha stabsthe organ and the creature vanishes.

His opponents vanquished, for now, the Varistha sheathes the sword and retrieves his spear. As he approaches the massive man-made barrier that separates the island into two halves, the stone in front of him seems to simply melt away. He steps through a tunnel of his own design even as he closes it behind himself, eventually emerging into the blasted hellscape beyond.

What little remains of the village is mostly ash and rubble. You see those hulking beast picking through the rubble. You count at least two dozen of them before losing track. You also spy smaller figures you don't recognize, swaddled in black robes and turbans with skeletal faces. You're not sure what they are. Further out, you spot the remnants of the pirate's fortress. The portal which once laid at the center of the wreckage has eaten a path through the metal to sit half-embedded in the ground at the center of this scarred landscape.
>>
Perhaps most worrying of all is the figure which seems to be presiding over all of this. Hovering of its own volition above the portal is a humanoid figure, its gender indeterminate. It wears elaborate robes held together by a simply ridiculous number of belts, and decorative armor which seems at least partially knitted into its chalky white flesh. Its finger and toenails have grown into long, sharp claws and two long horns grow from the top of its open skull, streaming black smoke into the air around it. Figures seem to swirl in the misty around it, forming and vanishing at a moment's notice. As soon as it notices the Varistha, it gestures lazily in his direction and the mist rockets forward like the bullet from a gun. The figures picking through the ruins of the village shift focus as well, beginning to charge across the distance towards the Varistha.

For his part, the Varistha raises his shield before him and braces his shield above himself, in a posture familiar to you as the standard defensive stance every beginner is taught to use when fighting with spear and shield. As the mist closes to but a few feet from the Varistha it seems to meet some sort of barrier, slamming against an invisible wall of force and roiling around him, leaving him unharmed. Skeletal figures form themselves from the mist and begin to wail away uselessly at the wall, but the Varistha seems unconcerned.

He strides forward, the creatures being forced backwards as he advance. The spear lashes out, and as soon as it makes contact a figure goes up in flames. He sweeps the blade across and three more light up, but four seem to fill in its place. Seeing this tactic would likely prove useless, the Varistha instead charges forward. The cloud of mist charges after him, figures roiling out of it to screech and claw at the invisible wall of force keeping him safe. One of them seems to get through, its arm sliding past the barrier. The Varistha whips around, his spear blade lashing out. You count six figures go up in flames, but more simply filter in to take their place.

All at once the barrier vanishes and the Varistha disappears under a cloud of black. For an instant, you think it's over. The Varistha failed. However, a shard of ice flies through the mist at impossible speed, headed straight for the pale figure which seems to be controlling the cloud. It's forced to dodge, breaking its concentration. In an instant, the mist vanishes and reforms around the figure, revealing the Varistha once again. He's lost a pauldron, and you see blood seeping from a wound in his abdomen which got between a gap in his armor.

It opens its mouth wide, impossibly wide. Its flesh tears and its jaw unhinges. You can only imagine the hellish shriek the creature must be uttering. The Varistha presses the attack even as the first hulking beast bears down on him, finally having reached him from the village. He slams his shield into its head as it charges him, sending it sailing into the air; its entire upper body suddenly concave.
(Whoops, forgot a picture.)
>>
Shards of ice fly at the 'King' of these creatures from all directions, and soon they're paired with spears of stone and metal shooting upwards from below. The King, for its part, seems unaffected. The mist solidifies around it into what you would best describe as a cocoon. No matter what the Varistha throws at it, his attacks simply slides off of the hard shell. Gradually the barrage abates as he's forced to instead focus on combating the creatures swarming him.

You finally get a good look at the vague, robed figures you saw amongst the ruins. They appear as hazy, indistinct shades. They're humanoid in a vague sense, an animalistic skull with two slimy black orbs set within empty eye sockets where their head ought to be. Most of them wield blades or simply use their fist, but you see one with a spear and a shield and another with a long, two-handed sword. You're not sure what the hell they are, but they seem to show significantly more intellgience their their hulking counterparts.

The Varistha is keeping them at bay, swiftly putting an end to any that get too close. However, every time he lunges forward to impale one upon the end of his spear another darts out from behind and slashes at his calves. His armor prevents most attacks from wounding him, but as the battle wears on more and more cuts appear across his body, bright red blood seeping through the cracks in his armor. Why he doesn't simply heal himself, you're not sure.

The Varistha drops his spear and slams his gauntleted fist into the ground hard enough to leave a small impact crater. In an instant, the waste turn into a field of monsters impaled on long, earthen spikes. Some twitch and spasm, others thrash and struggle, but most are well and truly skewered.
>>
Good thing the Varistha didn't allow us to come with him. We would be so dead

The dude's name is Sehzade Rustami.
>>
The Varistha stumbles, plucking up his spear and using it to push himself upright. He's take nasty cut on his shoulder, but doesn't seem to quite notice it. He reaches into a pouch on his side and retrieves a handful of small, glowing steel beads. Each one no larger than a marble. He lofts the beads skywards and they shoot off in every direction, leaving tracers of light in their wake. In an instant, dozens of those hulking beast vanish. It's with some concern that you note instead of vanishing, the corpses of those strange skull-faced monsters simply shift into full corporeality. They're men, and women, and even children as far as you can tell. The organ that sustains void creatures merely a parasite clinging to their necks.

The steel beads weave through the forest of impaled creatures, ending each one's life in turn as the Varistha limps towards the blackened cocoon of the King. With sudden ferocity the cocoon burst open, mist shooting towards the Varistha. He raises his shield, and once more the skeletal smoke creatures slam into a seemingly solid wall of force. The Varistha twirls his spear deftly, the blade setting several alight. However, this seems to have little effect. Even still more figures simply replace the fallen. Wearily, the Varistha falls to a knee. He's bleeding heavily, though some of the bleeding has abated. You presume that he's healed himself to some degree, though he's yet to attend to the wound in his shoulder. Two hands form themselves from ice, presumably collected from the moisture in the air. They retrieve the spear from the Varistha's grasp even as he draws forth his golden sword.

Placing the blade across his lap, the Varistha assumes a meditative pose. His spear shoots towards the King of these creatures, grasped within frozen fist. The King panics, the mist vanishing and reappearing in the form of a protective cocoon. However, the spear pierces it with little issue and when it shoots out the other end, it carries with it the figure impaled on the end. It grasp the haft of the weapon with long, clawed fingers even as its flesh begins to flake away, revealing a semi-solid shadow of black mist, the same mist it was using to assault the Varistha you'd imagine.

Its form goes up in flames, the Varistha's spear impaling itself in the dirt. With the death of the king, there seems to be little standing between the Varistha and the portal. He strides forward, the hands of ice he'd formed earlier gently depositing his spear into its sling on his back. As another one of those hulking creatures strides out of the portal, the Varistha ends it with a casual swipe of his blade, its corpse vanishing in an instant. He pauses at the portal's event horizon, turning. He searches the space behind him for a moment before seeming to focus on you. All you can see are his eyes peering through the mask on his helmet, but he seems pleased. He nods once, and then steps through the portal.

As the last vestige of the Varistha vanishes into the portal, the vision cuts out. You awaken in your barren stone room, your hands clenched tightly around the prism. No matter what memory you focus on, you can't seem to get the accursed object to reveal the Varistha's ultimate fate. He's entered the void, and as such he's lost to you.

Let's do it.
>>
>>35767959
I feel like we shouldn't abuse it irresponsibly, he told us to be careful with it. First of all, let's meditate on it for enchanting shit, this shit probably has like 247 runes on it to make it work, we'll be able to learn a couple dozen I think.
Also, fuck everything first, what we need to do is get Master in fire, then fuck off to bumfuck nowhere and read everything we own. Once we know all that shit, we can do some nature/metal, learn the shit ton of effects and metas we still have yet to learn, work on some water techniques(Mistralarms, PO/PD/hybrid with the water orbs and shit/reactive armor/weaving pure vys into reactive armor), and only then consider getting GM in anything.
I kind of think if we developed techniques now, we'd get more vys and shit then if we were a GM, it may be too easy for a GM to just do it normally.

Am I the only one that wants to build Sehzade Rustami a tomb or memorial?
>>
>>35769058
I don't think we're strong enough to really do that yet. Maybe if we're better at metal/earth we come back and build a huge shrine/dungeon for him? Also, we should really go back and talk with the water spirit or meditate in his shrine, we were kind of in a rush before.

I think the specific location depends on the individual creature(not type/race), he probably sensed where it was with magic. But generally, in their core should be a good guess.

I suppose you can't tell us much about Varvar's past, but can we ask about stuff that happened recently(not like we aren't still gonna ask about his past, but you know), like, did he know we opened the portal and proceeded to put together his parting gift to us before we got back, or did he already have that prepared? Does our cloak have runes, or is there another type of artifacts that come from other dimensions that already have special effects?
>>
>>35776051
Did you get the idea of making Varvar use ice arms to retrieve his spear because of my suggestions/idea of Mistralarms? Or his barrier field from my weave-vys-around-ourselves, and was that an effect of his shield?

>>
>>35776084
Detailed spurges, hands down.

>>35776092
Consuming the heart and not dying/being subsumed by the consciousness of an ancient draco-lich/going completely batshit insane would've netted you fire grandmastery, even if you were only an apprentice at the time.

Dying would've ended the quest with an epilogue, shit would pretty much just go on as usual. Being subsumed by the draco-lich would've ended the quest and set Mik on a path of world conquest, he'd likely end up killing his friends. Going batshit insane would've ended the quest, and resulted in Chrys crushing your skull into a fine powder.

>>35776176
You're not entirely sure how the hell your cloak works.

>>35776180
Mistral arms, sort of. The barrier was an effect of his shield though.

>>
>>35776262
>quest for metal in the dangerous, unkown jungle that no one has returned from
>not top tier difficulty, on par with the Deep Desert
kek, you think that won't be a prime place to go insane, where we'll need both Metal and Nature to not go insane and not be ambushed?
>>
>>35776213
Why was the heart in a lowly officers drawer?
>>
>>35776291
I guess it's the fact that not getting a bad end involved subduing the soul of an ancient dracolich, thus making its knowledge our own.
>>
>>35776291
It wasn't so much the heart itself as it was the dragon's soul contained within the heart. Basically, you would've become a dragon in the eyes of various metamagical fuckery.
>>
>>35776319
Mate, I'm pretty sure if we got the dragonlichs knowledge we would have gotten a shit ton more out of it.

>>35776387
Obviously the best thing to do if we wanted to pull that off would be to huff all of our Spice at once. This is a sound plan and we should consider this process every time we run into an ancient container of souls belonging to slumbering primordial evils.
>>
>>35776387
Wouldn't we have gotten other powers the dragon had?
If it was a regular dragons heart, would we still have gotten fire GM?
>>
>>35776410
This was supposed to be a question, actually.
>>
>>35776387
Did the Varisthas personality change when he consumed the hydras heart, or is it just dragon hearts that do that?
>>
>>35776424
We are not eating our baby's heart, fuck off.
Soma explicitly stated we would have gotten GM from subduing his soul anyway, wouldn't work with normal hearts.

>>
>>35776424
You would've, but I won't reveal what those powers would've been.
You probably wouldn't have gotten GM from eating a regular dragon's heart, no.

>>35776410
Far more, and far more drastic changes than simply becoming a GM.

>>35776449
His personality changed when he reached GM, and the heart did affect that to some extent, but not as much as consuming a creature's soul would.
>>
>>35776455
We don't have to eat just his heart, I mean, he's still small.
If we ate Ricky, would we get void GM?

Why would we need to take them apart?
>>
>>35776927
core makes it so we dont need animate or permanency, I think
>>35776940
>anti magic
>>35555761
>>Vys boils off of its back, and its skeletal head seems alight with magic power.
>>
>>35776906
Would fulvia be happy if we gave her a body that either used fire magic to illusion her into looking like her projection, or got gud enough to make flesh golems and somehow nigger rig her core into the brain. I want Robutt to be happy.
>>
>>35776985
Too look at every detail, if you want to build a clock you don't study an intact one, you take it apart and study that bitch piece by piece until you can put it together, now we're dealing with runes, not tiny gears and shit
>>
>>35777012
seems stupid and unnecessary, doubt we could make something than a Rhynian construct in the next couple dozen decades alone. She1s probably perfectly content just having a Body, and her hologram might be magic anyway.
>>
>>35776961
You've no idea, but probably not. It has a different 'feel'.

>>35776963
Mik is really only familiar with the basics, he doesn't understand the fine details of golem creating.

>>35776959
Maybe, maybe not. You might not be able to repair it after you take it apart.

>>35777012
Who says she's not happy?

>>35776927
On the prism there are obvious runes. Well, let me qualify that. On the prism's STAND there are obvious runes, but the prism itself doesn't seem to hold any runes at all.

The Golem core is a little more complex than that.

>>35776913
It's not like a switch has been flipped, she can be one or the other or any number of other things depending on circumstance.
>>
>>35777045
Soma has confirmed that we don't need to take them apart to study them. I mean, we can, if we want to study what happens if we remove a rune, but that seems stupid, since we'd be ruining an artifact, and we could also just apply the runes ourselves to something else.
>>
>>35776906
Why isn't there a 6x Adult male skeleton in our inventory on the character page?
>>
>>35777012
The only thing that would make her happy truly is if her Senpai noticed her. But he's deader than dead. Or is he?
>>
>>35777086
Because those are in Ricky's inventory, not yours.
>>
>>35777098
Where's the Ricky character page? It's not in the OP.
>>
>>35777092
Well, we aren't dead, so...
this is a joke
>>
>>35777098
Isn't everything in our cloak technically Mik's property?
What about the rest of their equipment?
>>
>>35777111
>Implying any of this is real
>Implying we aren't hooked into a mchine on Namek
>>
>>35777132
Ricky has desires and consciousness independent of both his duty as the guardian of your cloak and your desires.
>>
>>35777073
Is Meditating on objects just studying it's magical nature or something far more in depth? What happens of you meditate ona petson or mmemory?
>>
>>35777150
Well, Ricky can go fuck himself, he's not getting any more food.
From us at least.
>>
>>35777172
>What Happens if you meditate on a person or memory
>>
>>35777202
Probably nothing special. I mean, we'd probably see some of that persons vys reserves and be able to more clearly visualize and remember the memory.
>>
>>35777236
Soma confirmed meditating on stuff would mean we get hints about mysteries/puzzles, or get a summary of what we know about the subject, helping us figure shit out.
>>
>>35777236
I wonder wjat would happen if meditated on that dream where some god called us a camel fucker
>>
>>35777150
We need to have a sit down with the gang and ask "What can Papa Mik do for you." To go ahead and get all our companions side quests outta the way, and to be nice. And just as an excuse to talk to them. Can we do that? Can we have nice things?
>>
>>35777150
Shouldn't the Shah's ring be in our inventory page?
>>
>>35777298
>Can we have nice things

Narp.
>>
>>35777150
Does fulvia just like to be useful? I feel like she has a usefulness complex, what with the whole "Daddy thinks I'm a failure" thing and how she seemingly got happy when we let her handle explaining shit.
>>
>>35777347
She definitely likes being approved of and praised, but I don't know if I'd go so far as to say usefulness complex, beyond what would be normal after being alone for a thousand years, it's not surprising that she sticks to us.
And now SK too, the bastard, taking away my devoted robowaifu.

Its fine she just wants somebody she can be a nerd with... No wait thats Mortia
>>
>>35777563
If we start doing vys science she can be a nerd with us, by that I mean she can laugh at us because we're retards, she'll probably be glad to get our unending praise when she shocks us to life after we fuck up
>>
>>35777478
Answer the question about burning holes through trees that I asked on your ask, I'm too lazy to type it out again
>>
Is it dead?
>>
>>35777764
>get deep into enchanting
>fulvia being our little helper
>asks mik a question
>Can you fix me so I'm not a failure anymore?
How do you respond?
>>
>>35778053
So as busy fucking his imouto, it's the only acceptable reason he isn't answering my questions
>>
>>35778055
"I could try, but it sounds like a difficult task"
>>
>>35778055
Cant fix what isnt broken
>>
>>35778055
Don't fix shit that ain't broken, and I have yet to see evidence that you are either a failure or broken. Stop talking and hand me the artifact ready pani dammit
>>
Sorry folks! Had a phone call. Let me scan through and see what questions I missed.
>>
>>35778055
>"Already done"
>Kiss on the cheek
That's right, I'm a pleb, come at me
This would be too vague to actually suggest in such a situation, but it works well for my fantasy in which I know the subtleties and intentions/implications behind it.
>>
>>35777347
That seems to be the case. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a complex, but she likes showing off her talents.

>>35777298
Don't think you'll learn all of their loyalty missions that easy! Also, don't think things will be as easy as running an errand for someone and earning their undying loyalty.

>>35777309
Yeah, I need to get around to updating it.

>>35777172
Meditating on an object is basically reading its magical signature. Meditating on a person or memory basically just brings all that you remember of that person or memory to the forefront of your mind.
>>
>>35778199
Question about Chrys' home;
it has been repeatedly stated how war like their culture is but Mik and Chrys were able to escape with relitive ease so how well trained are the guards really?
How great is their military force in numbers or is it just a small group?
Could Mik when he is a grand master in water take them all on, would he need the groups help, or is completing her side mission something that can only be done by stealth or could he take them on now?
>>
>>35778373
Well now I want a thread where we meditate on our gear and poke them with various magic and effects and see what happens.

>Captcha : yeelied insanity
>>
>>35778373
Could you answer >>35776585
?
Or at least parts of it.
>>
>>35778373
I just want to do shit for them, so far they kinda just follow us because we are king fucking Midas, gold out the ass and we don't mind making it rain if we like them. I want actual friends for mik
>>
>>35778373
Why was Sadik so incompetent at judging the price of the rhynian armor in the first few threads? Was it just an oversight on your part?
>>
>>35778457
The thing about Chrys's homeland is that it's a city state exercising its influence over a broad area, and the village you were in was fairly backwater and unimportant. The main city houses the vast majority of the armed forces, with local village militia being the best most other places can muster. As might be expected, village militia isn't particularly useful or well trained.

>>35776585
There are other megabeast but consuming their heart won't necessarily earn you grandmastery.
>>
>>35778457
Her side mission is just killing her husband, we don't need to conquer her village, holy shit anon.
>>
>>35778373
Could you force us into some alone time with Mortia? I know none of the other anons would agree to spending time with her, but we really need to get to know her.
>>
>>35778373
Could we get chrys to teach us her language? Is it just a slight slight variation on rhyian? Can we get sk to teach us the languages he knows besides trade language? I wanna have a super sekrit language so we dont get eavesdropped on
>>
>>35778531
>implying things aren't going exactly according to keikaku
>>
>>35778552
Would we have gotten void GM if we consumed void kings core?
>>
>>35778581
We already have the brooches for that.
>>
>>35778558
I would vote for it, after we git gud, de-insane ourself, kill chrys's husband, steal the warlords shit, and get the steel recipe. We just have a lot of shit to do anon, we'll talk to her next thread if we don't have other shit to do
>>
>>35778604
>implying the brooches are safe
Ha!
>>
>>35778628
I'm not sure you realize how long the travels between each of those places you mentioned are.
>>
>>35778558
You're not alone in that regard we don't need to be forced though
>>
>>35778525
Then yeah, you could ask. It would be a nice gesture if nothing else.

>>35778581
It's rougher than Rhynian, actually. The two sound alike in only the vaguest of senses. You could probably get her to teach you though.

>>35778588
I'm not able to answer that, but I'll reiterate that the void probably isn't magical in Mik's opinion.

>>35778531
Who knows?

>>35778558
I don't intend on forcing you, but you'll have the opportunity.
>>
>>35778646
I was trying to make the point that mik is a busy fucker and Mortia just happened to be a bit below "Pirates of death who killed a navy"
>>
>>35778672
Mik's dumb though, void is totally a magic.
>>
>>35778552
How far is the distance between the village and the main city?
How quickly could it be traveled by the armed forces?
Are messages relayed to the main city quickly or slowly, and through what medium?
Are there any Vatis within the village that could pose us an issue?
>>
>>35778672
>inb4 the void is pure SCIENCE
>accept no substitute
You know you want it
>>
>>35778672
I bet sadik is just an old badtard who wants to be nice to young adventurers, send them out to do "jobs" aka give them places to go have fun in, buy the shit they dont want, and sell them shit they want. Niggas in retirement, nigga don't need money
>>
>>35778672
>Who knows
But was it an oversight on your part though?
I mean, it was really early on in the quest, and I'm sure you had a lot of things not quite flashed out yet.
>>
>>35778672
Mik also thought the mask, the bar, and the explosion were good ideas though.
Did you change Intelligent to Clever because of how Mik has been acting i.e. the players have been voting for stupid/irresponsible/thoughtless shit?
>>
>>35778716
OH SHIT! He knew we would need the rhynian armor to get pass the reactor, that's why he sold it so cheap.
>>
>>35778752
also to get in our favor, I expect
>>
>>35778747
The bar isn't that fucking bad
Blowing up the cave was bad but it was a pretty good outcome all things considered
The mask was pure hell spawn
1.3/3
You tried
>>
>>35778777
Or it was an oversight on Soma's end.
>>
>>35778796
>doubting soma
Heathen go and stay go
>>
>>35778784
Maybe they weren't that bad, but they definitely weren't very good ideas, which is what I was saying, anon.
5/10 you had drive for it but were misguided
>>
Are leylines basically like permanent back and forth leech tendrils running through the golems body?
>>
>>35778811
Then say the pipsqueak incident, trying to use fire as a motivator is where we fucked up, not the shit after. We ended that shit storm rather quickly and with little loss besides vys. And we got into the city 4free, may I repeat, not that bad.
Although I will admit I just respond to people who talk about the bar and tell them to fuck off. The biggest problem was a moral one, and morals stop existing when you get stuck in an alternate dimension
>>
>>35778865
Well, the fire incident directly led to all the other shit, so I was trying to refer to that decision mainly. I don't see how getting in free was such a big deal though, woohoo, we have like 400 AWU in our cloak now that we will never ever use again.
>>
>>35778978
Who knows.
>>
>>35778978
It's a matter of principle.
We still should have just had chrys flex or some shit
>>
>>35779002
Do you think if Chrys gets stabbed, she could break the blade lodged in her by flexing?
>>

Speaking of getting stab

We should really get back to sparing so we can git gud with a sword
>>
Is it dead once more?
>>
>>35779029
Depends on the direction of the blade
one way could snap it, the other could cut her further

I miss soma-senpai

Casting speed on our selves, could make us read much faster right?
Or would it be better if we just spend VYS on spending up our brain. To read faster.
Would wearing the Haician armor do that?
If we combined all three options could we read like 5 long books a day?
>>
Also guys.
I want to know what else we have with all of our shit.
I'd like to take out all the books we have. Get them scanned. Have fulvia read all the rhynian notes. See if we learn anything new.
Also take out all of our other crap. and have the party sort everything. While we read. Should find a bit more money. Find out exactly whats in mystery boxes. And a few other things.
We need to be productive.
