Dealing with the Blood Ravens proper left you in a rather good mood. A mood reflected in your choice of cabin furnishings. From a Blood Sauna that’d make Lazerus feel insecure to a bed adorned with red, Mark of Khorne patterned, satin sheets, the suite definitely feels like that of a warrior. Well, a warrior with slightly eclectic tastes but you’re a daemon - that’s to be expected. The important thing is you now have a place to retreat to when you need to do some heavy thinking. And in the days ahead you’re sure there’s going to be a lot of that whenever you’re not personally fighting.

The most pressing matter is where you’ll take your fleet from here. Finding the Engine has changed your goals around, as has the corruption of a brooding Tyranid swarm and a Battle Barge full of Blood Ravens. You could easily start a small insurrection in the Calixis Sector without worry of true reprisal for a time. But where was the fun in that? If you were going to burn the Imperium to the ground in Khorne’s name, you were going to do it proper. That meant gathering more allies first and foremost.

Though if your current allies are any indication, you’ll be relying a lot more on your underlings than you’d like. Trust is not something that comes easy to you. It is something that must be earned on the battlefield, thus only a select few have it. Maintaining that trust is vital, which is why you happily humored Ignitrix when she “let slip” it was her mortal-form’s birthday. A bond like that had to be fostered, for it might be the only thing that kept you alive in the future.

Even if it was entirely too silly (and adorable) to see a daemon react in the manner she did. Good thing no one saw it besides you, right?

Welcome to Khornette Quest.

If you’re a die-hard lover of canon, I suggest you turn away now. Like all things 40k, the gauntlet runs from “worshipping the printed word” to “over the top silliness.” Most of the time it’s somewhere in between. Others it swerves hard to one side and/or breaks this model entirely. You’ve been warned in advance.

All rolls go against a specified characteristic in the style of Black Crusade. You’ll want to roll under the characteristic value in order to pass the check. The more degrees of success (every multiple of 10 counts as 1), the more awesome of a result. A 1 is a guaranteed success, and a 100 is a guaranteed failure.

Best of three rolls when it’s called for, with a 1 or a 100 instantly taking precedence. If multiple characteristics are being rolled for, each 1d100 counts for its respective test. Any rolls prior to the call for one and those not linking said post will be ignored.

You may burn (i.e. gone forever) 10 infamy to completely reroll a check (i.e. three new 1d100). If you have above 10 infamy, you are allowed a single additional 1d100 roll for any check during a session.

If you have any questions/etc, now’s the time. I’ll push the first update in about 10 minutes.

Excessive meta/whining/waifu’ing/etc goes to QTG. Blatant Samefaggotry will be ignored.

CORN! KHORNE!
>>
After watching Ignitrix’s face discover a new shade of red during her hurried exit from the hallway, you find yourself laughing aloud. As much as she claimed to be a daemon of great power and import she certainly seemed to be rather mortal in her reactions at times. You suppose that was to be expected in her case, though, given her background. So long as it doesn’t become tedious to deal with, you don’t mind humoring the bird. Especially if it keeps her happy and loyal.

The departure of the Lady of Change has left you alone in the hallway with Acerea. She’s waiting patiently for you to finish your mirth. Winding down, you offer out the chair Ignitrix vacated with your right hand.

“Well that should keep her happy for a good long while. Since you’re here, how is our Tyranid friend doing?” you ask as the Plaguebearer sits across from you. Her movements seem more stiff than usual, and she’s still sporting the form-concealing cloak from when she helped deal with the Blood Ravens. Whatever she’s been doing down on Deck 11 with Sytili must be keeping her busy.

Even her voice is off. There’s just a tiny hint of weariness there that hasn’t ever been present before. “Oh she’s doing just fine. We’ve set up a lovely system to make sure you have your own strain to corrupt to your liking without having to worry about mine.”

So she took initiative then? You can respect that. Especially if it means less management for you. Still, you had to inquire what she meant by “mine” if nothing else. “You plan on having your own brand of them then?”

(cont)
>>
>>35860783

Acerea smiles and nods slightly. “I just couldn’t resist the chance. They’ll be partially relying on my Garden to maintain civility during our trips, after all. The finer parts aren’t quite finished yet, but all you need to worry about is an occasional shuttle from the Raptor. If that.”

You lean back in the chair (which was not having any problem supporting you, surprisingly) and cross your arms. More in an approving, content way than a display of closed authority. “I see, I see…”

>If you were going to burn the Imperium to the ground in Khorne’s name, you were going to do it proper. That meant gathering more allies first and foremost.
why the imperium specifically?
there is an entire galaxy of things to fight and corrupt.

Non combatant humans are pathetic, might as well fight the combatant ones who are interesting as we encounter them, let the boring ones produce more combatants

Orcs though? all of them are fun. And then there are the nids and the eldar.
and hey, we actually have a specific quest for them. or rather, arcea does; as soon as she tells us we can get on it

Then there are the blueberries...

Personally though, I want to go after the nids. I want every nid in the galaxy to become a chaos nid. a giant swarm under us.

a recent edition retcon is that its suppressing an eye of terror centered on earth itself. as that would destroy the imperium
also for navigation beacon.

but there are other eyes of terror in the galaxy and its not suppressing them. just the one local one.

IIRC the necrons have their own technological thing suppressing another eye of terror somewhere.
>>

Well, if Acerea's origin had been abnormal - fortunately it wasn't - then it would have been a trend. Iggy's case is unique, and if they were both daemons despite starting as humies then it would be a trend. An exception to the fluff is interesting; serial exceptions are Sue-ish.

that "whatever" is called "The God Emperor of mankind"
And yes, destroying him WOULD end the imperium.

It would break their spirit, it would destroy their greatest defender, it will make it impossible for them to sanction psykers, it will make it impossible to train new astropaths, and it will make it impossible for all imperium ships to navigate the warp

“Well, best I at least go impress who’s actually in charge upon them.” You’re already halfway out of your chair before Acerea can react.

“Umm, sweetie, you DO know that Sytili still controls them all at the end of the day, right?”

You pause mid-motion. “I know she’s our only Synapse creature. Ignitrix kinda filled me in on that. My understanding is that new ones won’t come around for awhile, and even then they’ll be more like glorified nodes for Sytili.”

Acerea nods in affirmative. “That’s correct. But if she’s any indication, new Synapses might also have a personality.”

“Exactly what I was hoping for. Better to instill a sense of order and authority in the roots than hope it’ll filter from the top down. Obviously a combination of both would be best but…”

The plaguebearer laughs and rises out of her chair. “My, you’ve taken to the mindset of a Warlord rather quickly. Just try not to go overboard, okay? They’re just children, or the equivalent of it for humans. They won’t react the way you expect.”

“Eh, I’m not expecting much at first. I may be demanding but I’m not entirely unreasonable.”

“Who are you and what have you done with my Cinder?”

“Not you too.”

She giggles and motions for you to follow her. Shortly thereafter you find yourself overlooking a large group of gaunts roaming through the corridors of Deck 12. Traces of blood and gore are littered here and there amid other biomass formations. Even without your daemonic senses, you can tell it’s a mixture of both Tyranid and Human.

The Eldar have a plan and take steps to ensure the Imperium doesn't crumble outright too soon (such as, for example, stepping up raids in areas they know are about to be surprise attacked by Chaos, so instead of finding undefended worlds they find a task fleet sent to wipe out the Eldar presence), and the Tau simply don't know or believe that the Warp could possibly be that powerful. Since they don't have psykers themselves, Warp-related problems are all filtered through a "not really our problem" mindset.
>>
>>35861774
>the emperor was initially their ally, they betrayed him and backstabbed humanity
That's true of many species of xeno, but the Tau made first contact with humanity long after the Heresy, discounting the time some human exploration ships passed by their planet while the Tau were still using stone tools, took some notes and ecological samples, and left without interacting.

A Gaunt bearing more scars than the rest you’ve seen wanders past, human forearm in its mouth. As your eyes meet, you give it a stern stare until it bows its head. That was easy. But it does make you wonder something aloud. “Where is the monkey meat coming from?”

“Oh that!” chirps Acerea. “That’s what I meant about the shuttle from the Raptor. Instead of just wasting the refuse from your Bloodpits, I had them redirect here. This level is purely sustained by that meat and the survival of the fittest. Just up your alley, hon~”

“That it is. Hmm. Well I don’t see any reason to linger. Keep up the good work down here. Make sure to get rest now and again. You seem like you need it.”

For a split second, you get a glimpse of a side of Acerea you’ve never seen before. The motherly bearing drops as she sighs, “In more ways than one…” She immediately perks back up though. “Not to worry. I’m a daemon after all!”

Hrm. If there’s a problem there, you figure she’ll bring it to your attention when she’s ready. You part ways shortly thereafter and return to your room. One of the great things about your new form is how your armor and weapons have become a part of you - no longer do you have to waste time getting in and out of the Bloodbath. Retracting your back spines, you slip down until you’re left free floating in the plasma.

Now that you have time to yourself once more you revisit your plans for the future. The way you see it, there were three optimum paths:

1. Continue on to a Warp Storm. You could gain some more daemon and heretic allies while possibly running into Iggy’s old friend Helldrool along the way

(cont)
>>
>>35862170

2. Find a Waaaagh or a Hive Fleet for your Tyranids to snack on. If one of those wasn’t enough to get the fledgling swarm on its feet, you didn’t know what would be. Plus they’d probably offer an interesting/fun fight or two.

3. Start corrupting planets in the Calixis Sector. The Inquisition is notoriously slow. You’d probably be able to get a good number of cultist and what not before they caught on. And even if/when they did you could easily dispatch anything short of a full company of Grey Knights.

All had varying pros and cons. The key was picking one. And for that you’d better consult the “heads” of your fleet. The question was how the meeting to come would be run.

If Nurgle, Khorne, Tzeentch, She Who Thirsts, and Malal are the first five, then who are the last two?

>I mean, they did kill Slaanesh

If it were possible, you’d have your meeting in this new bath of yours. The constantly bubbling and swirling liquid feels utterly divine. Unfortunately your non-daemon leads might not take kindly to bathing in blood. You’d fix that in due time perhaps, but even then this sort of treat was best reserved for your left and right hands. That meant you had to sit down with everyone in a less intimate setting. A setting like the Briefing Room just off of the bridge.

The Briefing Room is mostly prepared already without you having to do a single thing. When you walk in some two hours after leaving Acerea on Deck 12, you’re greeted with the sight of a large table much like the one Ignitrix initially had made for her room. Around it are the same sort of deceptively sturdy chairs that you had been using earlier. By your estimate you could seat ten Space Marines comfortably. Good thing you only have the one to deal with for now.

Captain Gallienus is your first vox call. You briefly tell him his “Inquisitor” wishes another face to face meeting. You also make it extremely clear that he is to come alone or he will be facing your wrath. He doesn’t seemed thrilled that he’s being led around by a daemon, but you do sense that he at least appreciates you’re making whatever cover story he’s using easier by maintaining the Inquisition lie.

Tigurius is the next on your list. Luckily for Proditus the ex-Commissar has requisitioned some text to speech method so you don’t have to go through the failure of a Brass Herald. Without getting bogged down into the details of it, you lead him towards getting on the next meat shuttle over to the Engine. He makes a joke about having to share it with “the equivalent of guardsmen” before signing off.

(cont)
>>
>>35863251

Your last call is one you’ve been putting off since exiting the Immaterium. Captain Lucius literally gets all of “You. Next Shuttle to the Engine. Now.” You couldn’t risk him going off on one of his flirty tirades prior to the meeting. No one would want to have to deal with an enraged Cinder. Not even you.

All said and done, you find yourself seated, with Ignitrix to your right, in the Briefing Room as Acerea brings your leads in. Tigurius is the first to arrive. He’s supporting what looks to be a rebreather attached to his data slate via a cord. He nods once in your direction, calm as ever. Without even being prompted he silently takes the farthest seat from you so as to not disturb you with his blank aura. Next is Gallienus. The Raven practically stomps into the room after being announced by Acerea and crumples into his chair, arms crossed. Under his breath you can just pick up some angry mutterings.

Lucius though? The Rogue Trader not only arrives an hour later than he should but is also sporting a gigantic bouquet of flowers. Roses to be precise. “Ah, my Lovely Cinder, your radiance has increas-” He doesn’t get another word out before Acerea takes the roses from him, gives him a stern “No,” and pushes him into his seat. She follows behind and takes the seat to your left.

With all six of you gathered, that just leaves you to kick things off.

You push yourself upright and begin walking around the table as you speak. “Thank you all for joining us. In the FUTURE, be here on time or I’ll stick your skull on the front of my Flagship.” You pause to give Lucius a death glare. “To business: We’re going to be jumping soon and all of the Navigators need to be on the same track. But more importantly: so do we as Captains of our respective vessels. We’re a Chaos Fleet, not an Imperium one. None of that bureaucracy nonsense or mandates from the dogs of the Corpse God. Our decisions will be made as a group so long as it remains feasible to do so. However I AM your “Admiral” and my word is final. I won’t have my battle time cut short because you all are squabbling amongst yourselves or whatnot. Is that clear?”

Varying affirmatives meet your ears as you give Tigurius’ chair a wide berth. “Good. Now then, I’ve come up with three options. One: We continue our original path into a Warp Storm. Two: We try and find either an Ork WAAAAGH or a Tyranid Biofleet. Three: We set in motion a little wave of corruption across the Calixis Sector. All of their own merits and downsides. What I want to know is your opinion on them, preferably focusing on the one you’d choose. All of you.”

Following that you sit back down in your chair and stare to your right at Ignitrix. She breathes out of her nose and maintains eye contact. “My vote is with the first option. If we can get in contact with Helldrool he’ll be able to help up whip up a fleet in no time. Plus it’ll mean you can delegate most of Fleet Management to him.”

“You trust him that much?” you ask.

“More like he trusts me that much to do what I ask,” she replies. “Comes with saving him over his entire fleet before. I don’t know if I’ve told you that story. Maybe later when the mortals aren’t around.”

(cont)
>>
>>35863910

You nod. “Alright. What say you, Imperial Dog?”

Gallienus growls. “The second option at least gives my Chapter a chance to die in actual combat before your corruption spreads too far, daem-”

“Need I remind you of your place, Captain?”

“...No ‘Lady Inquisitor.’’”

“Then fix your tone before I consider a new hood ornament.”

The Raven goes silent, leaving you to turn to Tigurius. The ex-Commissar taps at his data slate for a moment before the vox unit he’s sporting catches up. “I agree with Ignitrix.” Short and to the point.

With that you steel yourself for what’s to come. “And you, Lucius?”

He sighs melodramatically. “Oh my fair Cinder, it would not matter if you told us to charge into that maw outside. I would follow you any…”

You cut him off. “Great, you don’t care then. Good to know. That just leaves you, Acerea.”

The Plaguebearer purses her lips for a moment, then states rather matter-of-factly, “We could also go after some Eldar. But if I had to pick one of those three… I’d say the Tyranid/Ork plan would be best. Sytili shares the same opinion before you wonder.”

So a tie between a Warp Storm and some mass combat. Hmmm…

It would give us a chance to put ourselves in small-scale adventure where we don't have to micro-manage our fleet that much, Cinder would get some time with Acerea, and Ignitrix would get an opportunity to prove how good she is at planning. Are there any objections to this?
>>
>>35863933

Vaguely you recall that the Eldar were a part of the original Warp Storm plan, but that still doesn’t explain why Acerea brought the Xenos up now. “Any particular reason you think the Eldar would be a good idea?” you ask.

Once again, you catch a flash of weariness. “Well we don’t have to go after a Craftworld or anything too large. Just a Corsair or a small ship to test how we work as a fleet. Plus Sytili and I have an idea or two about corrupting them. Oh and I suppose Lucius here could do some trading or Gallenius could steal something.”

Ignitrix laughs, causing you to glance over at her. Her eyes are slightly narrowed - she must have caught that same glimpse behind the mask you did. “Corrupting an actual Eldar and not their dark cousins? You’d better have some soulstones hidden away. And even then it’d be like flirting with a volcano.”

“I semi-flirt with you and Cinder, don’t I~?” She isn’t entirely wrong. The rest of your Captains seem to be generally okay with this idea. But that tiny change of character has you slightly worried.

You let those assembled talk amongst themselves while you deliberate. Perhaps you’ve neglected Acerea in favor of Ignitrix for a little too long. And besides, corrupting Eldar? That just sounds like good fun. Worst case everything will go south and you’ll just have to fight aliens that are more capable than the humans’ best. As for the rest of the fleet, this will be a good test of their loyalty and of Iggy’s planning ability.

“I’ve decided,” you state, interrupting about three separate conversations. All eyes switch to you. “We’re going to be splitting up. Ignitrix will be in charge while Acerea and I go after her Eldar.”

Ignitrix shakes her head in disbelief. “I… If that’s what you want. What should we do while you’re gone? General mayhem in the Imperium I take it?”

“Exactly. Finding you after we’re done should be as easy as listening to the Astropath…” You trail off as you realize you’re basically going to be without one unless you take Proditus with you. Damn it. “You get the idea. Worst case we’ll meet up at the nearest WAAAGH or back in the Formless Wastes.”

She folds her arms and sighs. “I don’t like it one bit. But…” Ignitrix turns to eye the Blood Raven mischievously. “I finally have a use for this.” The Exterminatus Bomb materializes on the table in front of her, causing the Space Marine to recoil in alarm. “Good you know what it is. I’m going to be wiring it to your engine core and rigged to go off with a single thought from me should you decide to try and be trouble. Are you going to be trouble, worm?” Wow she’s getting into this.

“No, Ma’am…”

You decide to butt in. “Good. See it stays that way. As for the rest of you… Lucius - I expect several Eldar contacts to be begging for a face-to-face meeting by the time I get Ignitrix here squared away.” With that you dismiss all of the humans from the room, leaving you with only your daemon companions.

“Well, no sense talking here. Not until it’s been swept for bugs. Plus I feel like this might be the last chance we get to share a Bloodbath together for a bit.” You wave for your daemon friends to follow you as you lead the way back to your room. The mere mention of a Bloodbath has Iggy’s wings fluttering behind her, though Acerea seems as passive as usual. It’s only once you’re all submerged within the plasma that you start to broach the subject of Acerea’s troubles in a roundabout way.

“So Acerea, anything you want to tell us?” Well roundabout for you. “I didn’t say anything back there in front of the mortals for good reason, but I need to know you’re not trying to…”

She shakes her head and waves for you to stop. “I know. I know… It’s just…” The longer she talks the more her motherly-side seems to drop away. “You know how Iggy here had a bad day earlier in the week? Something like that for me.”

Ignitrix perks up at being mentioned, having been almost fully underblood. Even being reminded about her past troubles doesn’t seem to put a damper on that smile of hers. “If you don’t want to talk about it just have Cinder pat your head for awhile~” Her eyes widen as soon as the words are out of her mouth. She turns the same color as the liquid she’s in and dives.

This has Acerea and you chuckling. The plaguebearer stop first. “Oh Iggy. I know you do it on purpose sometimes but I needed that. Thanks.”

Oh… Right. She does the whole “Just as Planned” thing. Well it doesn’t bother you. You know how the bird really feels. “So… headpat or talking, Acerea?”

“Talking is fine. I just don’t know how much to tell you. Or, rather, I don’t know myself what to make of it.”

Ignitrix pops up, sending a small cascade of blood sailing over the pair of you. “Just pick something and let the words flow. That’s how these things work.”

Acerea seems embarrassed to be given advice, judging by her blush. “Well you know how Iggy here used to be human…”

You raise an eyebrow. “Don’t tell me you were Inquisition too. We don’t have enough rosettes to go around.”

“Hah. No. I honestly just know that much. What actually happened in my past life is gone best I can tell.”

The Lady of Change chirps, “And I’m to guess you let our Zoanthrope friend help you root these memories out? How do you know they’re even real?”

“The fact I met Isha and Papa Nurgle for one.”

“...But you’re not uh…” You and Ignitrix share a look. Acerea gets the hint.

“No, I’m not different or special from the other daemons. Not by much. But Isha did give me these.” Her right hand raises out of the blood palm outstretched. In it appears five spirit stones. Or so you guess based on Iggy’s reaction. The Plaguebearer herself seems extremely apprehensive and like she’s shared a terrible secret about herself.

It’s a good thing you’re a daemon of Khorne. Otherwise you’d enjoy giving out headpats. Which you don’t. Not at all. Not one bit. Nope. Acerea could still use one regardless. Wading over, you reach out and provide a single application of the Cinder Special. The Plaguebearer giggles and mumbles something along the lines of “my, my, she’s sharing~”

Ignitrix poofs slightly at seeing someone else getting her previous headpats but takes the hint. “I’d like to root around in there to make sure Sytili didn’t decide to leave you a present, but you seem fine. Plus the whole spirit stone thing lends credence to what you experienced. May I?”

She motions out for the stones, which Acerea hands over while you move back to your original spot. One in hand, she inspects each thoroughly before giving them back. “They’re all empty. Which is good if you want to capture some Eldar souls but makes them otherwise useless.”

“No that’s how they should be. Isha was very specific to use them if the corruption route failed.”

“Eh…” Iggy and you share another look. “Do they have any use once filled, Ignitrix? I don’t mind playing along since it means depriving a certain purple idiot of his toys but I’d like it if they had utility.”

“Oh, plenty~ But I think you’ll want to take that up with Acerea while you’re out having fun with her. By the way, I’m using your quarters back on the Raptor while you’re gone. Deal with it.”

You decide to let her have her fun. “Someone’s happier than they were this morning. Do you want a hat to go with the position?”

“Do you HAVE one?”

(cont)
>>
>>35866944

“Well no. I just thought I’d ask.”

“Hmph.” The Lady of Change conjures up her Blood Dragon plushie. Somehow in the presence of blood it’s moving on its own and even breathing little jets of fire. While she plays with it she segways into the story of her own ascension to daemonhood. In full this time save one portion that she claims is “not quite the right time to reveal since it might destroy the fabric of reality, including the Warp.” It’s a long tail, one that says a lot about her up to this point and also puts Acerea at ease.

Yes, a 'plain old demon' who fucking killed 7(?) Grey Knights, 2(?) of them by herself, BEFORE she ascended for the first time. Yup, 'plain old demon' indeed.
>>
>>35867046

It's not that we are special, it's that everyone else is just plain bad.

Why do you think Dad is so Angry all the time? All his Daemons are fucking idiots.

Acerea just referred to herself in the third person there.

One of these days we'll reverse psychology both of them to give US headpats for once
>>

....you know, I never thought about it that way. Do you think He has a series of posters all over His realm with Cinder and a "When in doubt, ask yourself. What would Cinder do?"
>>
>>35867089

"What would Cinder do? She'd kick my ass. Better get to it then..."

And then He hits himself. It's like being self-flagellant but for not a god or religion. It's for being a failure.
>>
>>35867089
And then all khornates take up headpatting
>>
Pretty sure [1] has it. Writing...
>>
>>35867089
Right now he just has a bunch of posters that say, "When in doubt, ask yourself: What would Sindri do?" because a fucking sorcerer is better than them.
>>
>>35867089

We haven't been in the Formless Wastes in awhile, let alone our MOTHERLAND!

It's actually kinda possible, I mean, we are stupidly young for a Daemon, and already a Bloodthirster, not from being BORN a Bloodthirster because Khorne needed some schmuck to throw at something, but EARNED it.

I mean, Khorne is all about Martial prowess and strength, battlefield tactics and all that, but what do 99% of his Daemons and followers do?

Foam at the mouth and hit things.

It's like comparing Forest Gump with the Sergeant from Saving Private Ryan.
>>
>>35867130
His name is Lt Dan Taylor, you scrub.
>>
>>35867128

To be fair, Sindri is kinda badass.

And it's not like Khorne hates ALL sorcery and rituals, just using your sorcerous bullshit at the back of the battlefield when you could be gutting someone with your combat knife.

A weapon's a weapon yo.
>>
>>35867130
You know... what if the whole "taking over" thing is to bring back the time when his followers + daemons weren't foaming at the mouth and flailing randomly? Just a thought.

Personally I'm waiting for when a different BT shows up and either kicks our ass or the reverse.
>>
>>35867150

No, his name is John H. Miller.

You fucking scrub.

Ah, thank you!
>>
>>35866959

Crossing your arms across your chest, you fake disappointment with just a mix of sarcasm. “And here I’m just a normal, true daemon born from the bloodshed of countless mortals across an entire planet. Guess I’m useless…”

Ignitrix responds by rolling her eyes and summoning forth her Cinder doll. To your amusement it starts trying to suplex the Blood Dragon without any interaction from the Lady of Change. “Oh hush. Even your little likeness here has tried to kill my plushies twice. Course since it’s more cute than harmful but you’re not fooling anyone.”

Acerea giggles and prods at the little Cinder. The tiny Bloodletter growls in a high pitched voice and swipes at the plaguebearer’s finger in vain. “Oh my, you ended up even MORE adorable than I could have ever hoped~! Definitely not a substitute for the real tail wag, though~”

Shit. Someone DID see. That leaves you with just one option.

You play-pounce at Acerea with a roar, joined shortly by a crimson-hued Ignitrix. Soon the Bloodbath turns into a wrestling ring that’s somehow two versus one against you. Not a problem, of course.

Maybe he has some sort of cosmic rubber band effect that keeps him bobbing back and forth between the two, and the more gods fall, the harsher it gets, until all that's left is a gibberish-spewing, screaming split second superpower.
>>
>>35867426

A Lady of Change and a Plaguebearer have no chance against a Bloodthirster. Not without sorcery and not even if you’re pulling your punches so hard that it’s actually painful. In the end you manage to get them both in a headlock, one under each arm. Just when you’re about to come up with a witty one-liner the Cinder-Plushie leaps at your face. Again, it’s a stuffed doll so it does no damage whatsoever. In order to remove it, though, you have to release your hold on your daemon comrades. So much for totally proving your dominance.

After roaring the doll-you into submission, you toss it back to a grinning Ignitix. Half her feathers are askew from the tussle but she doesn’t seem to mind. Nor does Acerea mind her usually carefully-kept hair being entirely disheveled. From there the three of you fall back and let the silence do the talking for you. Releases of tension like that were important. Especially since it might be awhile since you were back together again. Even with whatever secret method of propulsion the Engine had, it could easily be upwards of several months or even years given the chaotic flows of the Warp.

But it’ll all work out. So you hope. And this way you don’t have to sit around, waiting for someone from the Inquisition to notice. Plus you’ll get to corrupt your Tyranids a little more. And… Oh what’s the point denying it? You’ll miss Iggy. Curse that Bird for actually making you care. She could never know.

You'll make sure to send her off with a headpat or two regardless. For now, comfortable silence.

Yay char limit, info dumps, and more.

Next week it's just Acerea, the Nids, and Cinder on an adventure to find some Eldar. Good thing Iggy's leaving you a present.

Q&A as usual.

Maybe an extra session Sat/Sun. Depends on stuff and things.

From Iggy's Journal:

> I was REALLY happy Cinder didn't find out about Halloween. The last time someone knew or even cared (spoiler: Helldrool) I ended up dealing with servitors knocking on my door for twelve hours straight. Oh and the spiders. Can't forget those DAMN SPIDERS. Wasn't enough warp fire to cleanse my room after that.

Aside from that, Necrons, people like Lucius in tights, and Eversors. So the usual daemonic fare.
