File: Tiji Sector.jpg (22 KB, 387x472)

So this is a cooperative project for all of /tg/.

The system we will use for system creation will be Mongoose Traveller. I am using the 2008 printing of the Core Rulebook, pg.s 1697 to 181. Any Entry in the Universal World Profile(UWP) may be altered if /tg/ doesn't like the result, but once a world is complete the code is fixed.

Currently no world is complete and only tentative descriptions are in place. If anyone on /tg/ wishes to add, correct, or otherwise alter a description, UWP, Trade Codes, or Travel Zone, please green text or otherwise quote the original entry and post it with your submission. This can be done here on /tg/ or on the roll20 Tiji Sector forum.

The project is not limited to just building the sector, the cultures and races are also under discussion. Currently the only inhabitants are humans, the scattered Zoani, and the terrifying Coral Minds. Random creature creation can be found on pg.s 69 to 75.

The goal is to develop the sector enough to allow gaming groups to adventure and explore using the Traveller ruleset. Keeping with this, some parts of sub-sectors, or even some entire sub-sectors, will have locations of systems that haven't been explored, surveyed, or otherwise documented, letting groups have their own bit of the Tiji Sector just for their game.

So, now that we have complete (mostly) the development of Sub-Sector A, where do the faithful Travellers of /tg/ turn their loving gaze to next...no, lewds.
>>
Stat up the remaining worlds of The Imperium (blue) and the other already defined nations, perhaps?
>>
>>35947324
A reasonable goal based on that will be to have five subsectors (A, B, C, E, and I) mostly detailed, and then a handful of the Core Worlds in J to illustrate just how much of an adventure magnet (and deathtrap) the Core Worlds are.
>>
>>35947324
Sure, that gives us a baseline for the political situation in each of the sub-sectors the Imperium has a presence in.
>>
>>35947476
The green borders are surviving Zoani populations. They aren't necessarily on every world so marked, or they may be but at such low numbers that they won't show up on the UWP. The Zoani are the one *default* playable alien race. Some will never use them, others will do so happily, and some will want even more races.

We aren't stopping anyone from doing any of those.
>>
>>35947454
Subsector F has all of eight systems in it. One of them is an Imperial world and will get attention. I can see the system in 1611 also getting attention. The rest *might* have UWPs, but those may also be wildly inaccurate, six hundred years out of date, or both.

Did we ever get player stats for Zoani up? We might need to hash that out sometime this week.
Anyway, let's start detailing Imperial Systems in Sub-Sector B, Named....Spur? Spur Sub-Sector refering to the off shoot Imperial territories?
So Sub-Sectors of Quadrant ABEF:
Sub-Sector Imperial, Spur Sub-Sector, Rimward Advance, Fuck-All

Zoani Dominion, Charted Fringe, Lost Lights, *Data Not Found*

I'm kinda disappointed that no-one takes any effort to have discussions on the roll20 page, it's there specifically for people to post ideas and get discussions going when we don't have a thread up or on the weekend to avoid all the shitposting.

All 'E' ports. Best Korea indeed.

I'm going to bump the first one to a 'D' out of pity.

I'm just going to trundle along for a little longer, then call it a night.
Based on this map from last week, only one world in the subsector wasn't under the influence of the Core Lords. Might come in handy for describing 1001.

The rest, I'm auto-bumping to 'E' ports on the theory that someone carved a landing pad at some point in the last thousand years. The Zoani used to be all over this subsector as well, though they are no longer present at all.
>>
Rolled 2, 1, 3, 6, 4, 2, 6, 5, 3, 2, 4, 3, 1, 2, 5, 5, 1, 2, 1, 5, 5, 1, 2, 1 = 72 (24d6)

The Zoani were settled through the center of this subsector.

Here are the Port dice for the non-aligned worlds. I'm going to apply a -1 to each pair to bias against ship builders, unless I get none at all, in which case I'll promote a world.

I think we *do* want an independent out here, but not a powerful one.

I've swapped two of the ports because I wanted the one A port to be further from the Imperial border. More chance of staying independent that way.

should swap the A port to 1603 and it can be the focus of an independent polity, possibly a coalition of systems.

And it looks like this. If the shipyard is in that position, it need only be TL9 or 10 to hold the cluster. TL11 allows it to trade more widely, and supply the lonely B port in that half of the subsector, who I see as another group of indies.

Being ruled by a Charismatic Dictator and having a Law Level that restricts you from having ANYTHING more advanced than Steam power or primitive firearms, on a planet that you NEED high tech to live? That kinda speaks to me as a Noble of the Imperium ruling a Prison world or other penal colony.

If you want to roll some dice and work through the World Building chapter of Mongoose Traveller, feel free to do so. FDM and I often work in two to three hour spurts, so if you are still around when I get back we can do some decision making and processing. We get most of our work done Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, but FDM monitors through the days most weekdays.

Actually, we just need a Tech level roll, so I've left your last die on the table.

OR, if we use the Hard SF mods

So, we next decide where to drop this lovely place.

Still need to place this one. Here's the map with the two from earlier added.

I'm archiving this one as 1608 for now. We can move it later.
>>

I'm with you on that. 1608 seems to be fine.

Is 1611 taken, or is it free for placing the planet?

I'm hesitant to casually place the worlds of the Gap. 1608 is on the edge, but I'd like to have some discussions about what we want the Gap to be before we go populating it. The Imperium has just recently been able to access those worlds, but the Core Lords and Zoani are both suspected of having exploited the area.

Do we want the Gap to be anomalous in some way? An extension of the CORE Worlds that is even harder to get around between? A zone of no standard atmospheres? No useful planets? All belts? Lots of people, only weird people, or no people at all?

No gas giants, or water poor all around?

The one thing I want to avoid is making the Gap the "Secret Survivors Stronghold, TM". I would consider such a world or two, but elsewhere. Putting one in the Gap is a bit too obvious, and would have been taken down during the collapse, IMO.
>>
Discussion bump.

Beuller?

For the Gap, either no useful planets or all belts.
>>
The Gap should have a mix of Belts and Planets with no Atmo. The Corelords basically going scorched earth on the systems there during the collapse.

<might have a single planet that survived, mainly because it was the Naval outpost that did the scorching>

How are the map compiled?

I meant, not rule-wise, but do you use some specific program to draw all the symbols?
>>
>>35998443
There are a few online programs that draw traveller maps. A quick google search gives 5 or 6, the hard part is actually getting one that lets you input all the symbols you need.
Viscount is using:
http://www.travellermap.com/poster
which is a good program, but you have to format the input
I use:
https://alexschroeder.ch/svg-map
which is someone else's program, but doesn't require as much formatting, it doesn't allow for the full sector to be displayed though, and automatically marks trade and communication routes. Some of which the Tiji Sector won't have or will have expanded.
