meh forgot to add the subject on the previous thread, here we go

Alright, let's have a productive day. I talked about it with some friends, and we seem to have agreed that rock-it makes hovering cars cheaper and more efficient that rolling ones.

Also, im powering up almost all the defensive weapon tricks, BUT making them each limited in how many times you can use them.

For example, Evasion will now completely deny the damage of the NEXT spell to miss your MDV, but only of one spell per turn. You can take evasion multiple times to allow you to do this multiple times per turn.

normally, a spell that misses your MDV still does 1/2 damage

Also, changed parry from a full round action to a move action.

Like evasion, it now allows you to add your weapon skill against the next attack, spell or ability that would have hit your PDV, and you can take it multiple times to allow you to use it that way more than 1/round

I feel this reflects more accurately how much trouble Rudeus in MT keeps having against good swordsmen since they keep parrying his spells.

It also means that even tho mages do huge amounts of damage, truly skilled warriors can still give them a very hard time

Does dragonforce have to roll against MDV?

We have shaman now, so we can parry every turn while still having full movement and attacks.
>>
>>36056329
Also, druid makes it so that animals don't attack our party, so full on anime beach trip is totally doable.

but is it full movement if you are still sacrificine 1/2 your moves?

I mean, you could look at it like that, sure
>I had 1 move action
>Now i have 2 move actions, so I will just use one for parry

anyway let me post the ideas. Remember that as always im open to suggestions and dont be afraid to point out if im going retard

Blessing of Health (Requires Blessing of Faith) ~ Whenever you are target of a healing spell, you heal 50% more. You can pick this trick multiple times. Its effect stacks.

Blessing of Faith ~ Whenever there's spillover from a healing spell affecting you, the difference is added to your health as temporary HP. The overflow from multiple healing spells does not stack.

Evasion – Once per round, when an opponent fails to hit your MDV, you take no damage, instead of the normal half damage. You can pick this trick multiple times to be able to use this trick one more time per round.

Heavy Armor Expertise – You gain proficiency with heavy armors. If you already have, or later gain this proficiency, this Weapon Trick grants you +10 SR and +10 Armor while wearing Medium Armor, instead.

Light Armor Expertise – You gain proficiency with light armors. If you already have, or later gain this proficiency, this Weapon Trick grants you +5 PDV and +5 MDV while wearing Light Armor, instead.

Medium Armor Expertise – You gain proficiency with medium armors. If you already have, or later gain this proficiency, this Weapon Trick grants you +5 SR and +5 Armor while wearing Medium Armor, instead.

Metal Jacket (Requires Parry) – While using Parry, and as long as you are wearing Light armor or no armor, add your weapon's base damage to your Armor against the next attack, ability or spell to hit your PDV.. Each time you pick this trick, you can use it against an additional attack per turn.

Northern God Style (Requires Spell Breaker) – Once per round as a free action when an opponent fails to hit your MDV by 30 or more with an attack, spell or ability, you can bounce that spell or ability back as a Basic Ranged Attack against the opponent's MDV. You can pick this trick multiple times, allowing you to use it one more time per turn.

Parry – Use parry as a move action to add your Weapons Skill to your PDV against the next attack, ability or spell an adjacent opponent uses against your PDV before the beginning of your next turn.

Spell Breaker (Requires Stop Hit) – While using Parry, you can add your Weapons Skill to your MDV against the next attack, ability or spell targeting your MDV before the beginning of your next turn. You can pick this Weapon Trick more than once, each time allowing you to use Parry against one more attack before the beginning of your next turn.

Stop Hit (Requires Parry) ~ While using Parry, you can add your Weapons Skill to your PDV against the next attack, ability or spell targeting your PDV before the beginning of your next turn.

Tactical Positioning ~ You take ½ damage from the AoE attacks, abilities and spells of allies with the Orchestrated Strike Weapon or Spell Trick. Picking this Weapon trick once more makes you immune to the AoE of those same allies.

Water God Style (Requires Parry) – Whenever an adjacent opponent fails to hit your PDV by 30 or more with an attack, spell or ability while you are using Parry, you can use a Basic Melee Attack as a free action against that opponent. You can pick this weapon trick once more, allowing you to respond to non-adjacent opponents, as long as your Basic Melee Attacks can reach them.
And that's what I have right now. Also im reading Koe de Oshigoto! and its pretty funny. Sometimes it feels like the author is just tryig to gloss over how inherently lewd and wrong it is by just throwing in "but she's cute, so its fine!" but its still fun enough to read

I think you mean Heavy armor in that description.

You specify MDV but then go on to say attack, spell or ability, which implies PDV attacks are also covered.

I'm not seeing how parry and spell breaker are supposed to interact. They seem like the same trick.

yes, my godfather basically just asked me to move more on my own, so really his word means crap

All he does is call over the phone 1/week now and ask me if i found a doctor
"Didint you said you were going to look for one?"
"I cant believe theres no doctors over there!"
"You lived here, you know what its like"
"But its been like 12 years since I left!"
"So? its still the same"
"Look harder!"
"thats kind of a mean thing to say, no? anyway, its the same doctors as always"
"Well, what about the new ones? but be careful because social security doesnt actually demands that they have special titles or so, if they sign up as oftalmologists, thats it"
"So they dont need to really be oftalmologists?"
"right, they are often just general doctors, but specialties pay better"
"Then how am i supposed to know?"
"You are good with computers right? do a hackerthing and check their info!"
"Uncle, you've seen too many movies"
"You are just lazy and want to go blind"

And thats pretty much how EVERY conversation goes. Im quite pissed off about it

you are right, let me change that right now

>>36056412
>sn't this basically the healer passive?
oh, right. Well, I guess ill deete those two

no, its just that some attacks actually target MDV and some spells target PDV. So im drawing a line based on which defense they target, rather of what type of attack they are

Parry and spell breaker are basically the same, BUT

Parry defends you against the next attack from an adjacent opponent targeting your PDV

Stop hit improves your parry so it defends you against the next attack targetting your PDV, adjacent or not

Spell breaker improves your parry so it defends you against the next attack targeting your MDV, adjacent or not. It also gives you one more use of parry per turn each time you pick it up

I actually want help with the wording
>>
>>36056456
....I'm not surprised. It was either that or he knows X doctor personally and solves all your problems.

I can ask MY opthalmologist just how safe "general doctor" is. I assume you should at least look for a surgeon.

>Parry – Use parry as a move action to add your Weapons Skill to your PDV against the next attack, ability or spell an adjacent opponent uses against your PDV before the beginning of your next turn.

>Stop Hit (Requires Parry) ~ As parry, except you can apply it to any attack, adjacent or not.

>Spell Breaker (Requires Stop Hit) – As stop hit, except you can use this multiple times per turn, equal to the number of times you've taken this spell trick.
>>

Pisses me off so much every fucking time.
"Did you go to social security?"
"Of course i did"
"Did you really?"
"Yes I did"
"Did you?"
"Yes"

When he came to town in person (briefly) i took the chance to SHOW HIM all the documents I got from social security so he would shut up about it

Then he started asking
"Did you ask if glaucome is covered?"
"I did, and it is not"
"Did you ask them?"
"yes, I did"
"Did you?"
"Yes"

Pissed me off so much I went and explained things to one of the nice people there and put him on the phone with my uncle so he would shut the fuck up about it

I honestly have no idea what to do. Maybe I will just go on foot and check the office of every doctor to see if they have oftalmology diplomas hanging on the walls that are not "diploma of participation" on courses X hours long.

Honestly I have no idea what else to do. and its just SUCH A PAIN for me to move around now. Obviously I cant drive, and I tend to bump and trip on everything. I went to buy groceries yesterday and coming back with the bags tripped and twisted my ankle. Its really NOT fun having to walk 98% blind

I only see 3 ways out of this:

Cross the border, go to the hospital there, and pretend to be have been raised somewhere else despite officially being from your country. I can't on good conscience suggest anything more illegal without knowing the situation personally.

Go to the local doctors and ask about SURGEONS, then go to those surgeons if they do eye surgery. Even if they don't, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Go to your capital/whatever big hospital. Just get some days off or vacation time and do it.

>>
>>36056657
Ok. So for us, if we wanted to be really protected against 3 spell attacks a turn, we would take parry, stop hit, spell breaker x2, evasion x3. That'd add our weapon skill to PDV and MDV, making it something like 700, and then any spell that didn't reach that (every spell) gets nullified completely.

Need help rewording this, I think

Northern God Style (Requires Spell Breaker) – Once per round, as a free action when an opponent fails to hit your MDV by 30 or more with an attack, spell or ability, you can bounce that spell or ability back as a Basic Ranged Attack against the opponent's MDV. You still take ½ damage from the attack, ability or spell. You can pick this trick multiple times, allowing you to use it one more time per turn.
>>
>>36056769
>why evasion x3?
So we could use it against 3 spells a round. No real reason for picking '3', it's just half our total magic ripper uses.

The wording on Northern God Style seems fine. Though by saying it's a basic ranged attack, doesn't that mean weapon tricks can be applied to it? Like multishot and death shot?
>>
>>36056808
>The wording on Northern God Style seems fine. Though by saying it's a basic ranged attack, doesn't that mean weapon tricks can be applied to it? Like multishot and death shot?

Yes, after all northern god style is meant to be tricky, right?

Reworded the Parry line

Parry – Use Parry as a move action to add your Weapons Skill to your PDV against the next attack, ability or spell an adjacent opponent uses against your PDV before the beginning of your next turn.

Spell Breaker (Requires Stop Hit) – This trick improves your Parry so you can use it against attacks, abilities or spells of any opponent targeting your MDV. You can pick this Weapon Trick more than once, allowing you to use Parry against one more attack before the beginning of your next turn.

Stop Hit (Requires Parry) ~ This trick improves your Parry so you can use it against the attacks, abilities or spells of non adjacent opponents targeting your PDV.

Uhmm...
I dont know if they should, that sounds really strong

Could you give me some arguments to have it stack?

Also, reworded some of the offensive tricks too

Otoo~Tachibana School – While holding a weapon with both hands, you add +5 to attacks, abilities and spells targeting an opponent's PDV for each time you have picked this weapon trick. You can pick this weapon trick more than once.

Reckless Stance ~ As a free action at the beginning of your turn, you can take a penalty of up to -20 to your PDV to add an equivalent bonus to your attacks, abilities and spells targeting an opponent's PDV. This effect lasts until the beginning of your next turn, and you cannot use Parry while it is in effect. You can pick this trick multiple times.

Swipe – Whenever you target the PDV of an adjacent opponent with an attack, ability or spell, you can target the PDV of an extra opponent with the same attack, ability or spell. Any extra target must be adjacent to you and each other. Each time you pick this Weapon Trick, you can attempt to try to affect an additional opponent's PDV with the same attack, ability or spell.

Sword God Style (Requires Armor Piercing) – Whenever you hit an enemy's PDV with an attack, ability or spell, you can add any overflow from your attack to your next attack, ability or spell against that same enemy's PDV. This bonus stacks with itself, but is lost whenever you miss or move for any reason. If you hit more than one enemy's PDV with the same attack, only the highest bonus is added to your next attack, ability or spell.

Want the otoo~tachibana to basically grow each time you take it
You have it once? +5 bonus
You have it twice? +10 bonus from each
You have it thrice? +15 bonus from each
etc
>>
>>36056931
There's actually a fair bit of weirdness with this, because spells target MDV and most offensive ranged weapon tricks talk about PDV and armor.

Like, if you were in a sniper's nest and got hit by a dragonforce, could you return it to them 3x, add wisdom bonus as damage, then additionally make all three of those reflections Head Shots? So the spell would roll against both MDV and PDV?

>>36056934
The wording seems fine. But just to be sure, you're saying that if you have Parry, Stop hit and Spell Breaker, you can use parry twice a turn?

For additional tricks, I will again repeat my refrain that there needs to be a way to increase base damage for melee attacks. Crit immune/magic immune enemies like golems will take absolutely forever to kill otherwise.

Yes and no
You can set parry once and use it once before it "wears off"
Each time you take Spell Breaker, it lets you use it once more before it "wears off"

>Golems

>Want the otoo~tachibana to basically grow each time you take it

That works, a single two handed weapon should offer some nice scaling damage.

2 handed strikes should knock someone down.

>Otoo~Tachibana School – While holding a weapon with both hands, you add +5 to attacks, abilities and spells targeting an opponent's PDV for each time you have picked this weapon trick. You can pick this weapon trick more than once.

Maybe adjust the wording then.

>Otoo~Tachibana School – While holding a weapon with both hands, you add +5 to attacks, abilities and spells targeting an opponent's PDV for each time you have picked this weapon trick. You can pick this weapon trick more than once. Each additional time you pick this tick the bonus goes up an additional +5.

SHould there be a follow up to allow more damage too? Weapon damage is str + weapon, a legendary weapon is 50 damage, but armor can hit 60 and then more classes have con then str.
>>

Make an attack that takes effect after a certain number of rounds, up to the number of times this trick has been taken.

Seems underpowered, so I was thinking of some sort of bonus for hitting the same target/s at the same as your delayed shot.

Power Shot
Add your strength bonus to your damage roll, but decrease your strength bonus from your attack roll. Taking this trick a second time removes the attack roll malus.

It still doesn't feel obvious, to me

As for Northern God, I can see two ways to change the wording. One is to say "you can choose to take 1/2 damage from the spell to bounce it back" meaning Evasion is optional.

The other is to make you may a fraction of your current or maximum HP to use it. The first option could technically make your immortal, and the other could probably kill you, so im not especially happy with either

looking at it now, it feels like it interacts weirdly with parry

let me see

Parry - add your WS to PDV against the next attack, ability or spell an adjacent opponent uses targetting yout PDV
Stop Hit - Imroved Parry so it works against non adjacent opponents
Spell Breaker . Improves Parry so it works against spells

North God - Improved Parry so it can bounce back attacks, abilities and spells targetting your MDV

I guess Water God just need to be pretty much the same as North god, but for attacks targetting your PDV

It is interesting that there are dungeons that go down 200+ levels. It makes slave hitting 100 seem not too much out of reach.

Monsters likely scale linearly, so they probably have 1k base stats when they get down to those levels, and at least 10k health.

Would not be surprised if out in the wild there are some insanely deep dungeons out there.

Or if their was an ancient ruined city there would be dungeons too.

Do dungeons eventually spit out monsters to the wild ever, or do they exist as there own little personal item box.

And if you clear a dungeon do you suddenly have the floors freely dug, or does it revert back to it's pre dungeon design.

Need help with these

Reckless Stance ~ As a free action at the beginning of your turn, you can take a penalty of up to -20 to your PDV to add an equivalent bonus to your attacks, abilities and spells targeting an opponent's PDV. This effect lasts until the beginning of your next turn, and you cannot use Parry while it is in effect. Weapons you wield in both hands receive double the bonus to damage. You can pick this trick multiple times.

Swipe – Whenever you target the PDV of an adjacent opponent with an attack, ability or spell, you can target the PDV of an extra opponent with the same attack, ability or spell. Each target must be adjacent to you and at least one target to be valid. Each time you pick this Weapon Trick, you can attempt to try to affect an additional opponent's PDV with the same attack, ability or spell.

Sword God Style (Requires Reckless Stance) – Whenever you hit an enemy's PDV with an attack, ability or spell, you can add any overflow from your attack to your next attack, ability or spell against that same enemy's PDV. This bonus stacks with itself, but is lost whenever you miss or move for any reason. If you hit more than one enemy's PDV with the same attack, only the highest bonus is added to your next attack, ability or spell.

Made me chuckle because Ive had this scene in mind for sooo long for the day in the future we break into alquia to rescue Mako (this is a thing we all know will happen one day, right?)

Guard #1: Who are you!?
Guard #2: Where do you come from!?
Guard #1: What do you want
Eldric: "Eldric, from the North, to tell you that you are already dead"

maybe something like "If this attack deals equal or greater damage than the target's Constitution, they take x10 the damage" or something like that. Ill think about it. Its just good for exploding mooks

Perhaps make it more clear that the trick affects both attack rolls and damage? Like
>add an equivalent bonus to the hit rolls and damage of your attacks, abilities and spells targeting an opponent's PDV

>Swipe
So this is a weapon version of cascade? Seems fine.

>Sword God Style
This doesn't feel much like the sword god style of MT, but its wording is fine.

Oh!, why not just
First of the North ~ As a Full round action, deal a basic melee attack for every martial arts technique you know. These attacks can be enhanced by weapon tricks. If the total, final damage equals or surpasses the target's Constitution, it dies.

>>36058124
but... the bonus is only to damage. Its pretty much similar to the power attack feat from D&D

You lower the accuracy of your attack, to raise its damage

The idea is that if you take -20 on the attack roll, you add +20 to the damage. Or +40 if you are holding the weapon with both hands.

>Sword God
Yeah, I have always intended to have it as a prerequisite for other more MT sword god techniques, like flash sword, letting you deal more damage if you go first

>>36058167
Oh, you are right, but do you think this should be a "by default, we can choose to deal non lethal damage" or should it deserve its own trick? right now its just a default thing but it seems like i should mention it somewhere (no idea where)

As for jump and lift, we have had talked about it before... and I dont know. Your guess its honestly as good as mine

Ah, then change the wording to:

We're going to be able to kill a lot of stuff with that. Well, as long as it's vulnerable to crits.

also, going to lie down for a bit

These are the rest of the offensive melee weapon tricks

Trip ~ Whenever you beat your target's PDV by 30 or more, you can cause it to fall prone. Prone targets take a -30 penalty to PDV against melee attacks and have a +30 bonus against ranged attacks.

Wind Blade (Requires Swipe) ~ Your basic melee attacks affect a line 20” deep. Roll attack once and compare it to each target's PDV. You can take this trick more than once, each time increasing its length by +10ft.

Wind Roar (Requires Wind Blade and 100 Melee Weapon skill) ~ Your attacks, abilities and spells targetting an opponent's PDV are cone-shaped, as wide at the end as they are long.

Will probably start reviewing the ranged ones when I come back

>As for jump and lift, we have had talked about it before... and I dont know. Your guess its honestly as good as mine

The way that made sense to me when I tried thinking about it was that 200-250 was equivalent to the human maximum on Earth; Olympic athlete level, geniuses, that sort of thing. Beyond that point it just increases linearly, so 500 would be 2x human max, 1000 would be 4x human max. Which puts us at about 6x human max for strength.
>>
>>36058307
>perhaps normal for not breaking every glass we try and pick up.or crushing off hands in a hand shake
We do have way more Dex than Str, so logically we should be able to control ourselves extremely well.
>>
>>36058300
Is Wind Blade supposed to be able to affect Swipe? If so, swipe needs to be reworded so that it hits targets in melee range, not adjacent. If not, the wording for both is fine.

Trip, when combined with Sword God, means that anything we attack will be prone.

Wind Roar seems fine.

The day its sunny and warm. The sky is bright blue and the blue and white moons are slowly crossing the sky above. The small town is peaceful. It is a very quiet day.

Well, mostly.

"Nuuh, dear, it's the middle of the day!" ~Linda complains as her husband hugs her firmly from behind.

The young woman tries to squirm loose as he holds her firmly, kissing her shoulder and neck. She is wearing a very long, yellow s and white summer dress that leaves her shoulders bare. It is a dress with a clean and refreshing feel to it.

Her husband isin't letting her go, however. He is firmly hugging her and squeezing her between his arms, one hand "accidentally" grasping her soft right breast.

"It's fine, isin't it? It's fine, isin't it? " ~he says in a good mood~ "Eldric is playing outside, so what's wrong with us hugging, huh?"
"B-but there's the sun out!"
"The sun doesn't cares. It's a very understanding sun, you know?"
"A-and Elli might hear us!"
"I'm sure she doesn't mind, she's a very understanding Elli, you know?" ~he says in a good mood as he gently turns her around to kiss her

Well, things were going along in a good mood, but then he noticed a Eopolitan knight riding up to the house's entrance...

Well, it's hard to get his cool and beautiful wife in the mood during the day, so he at least leans in to kiss her for a good kiss while spying through the window. Elli is going to greet the visitor, so it's not like he'll just go away in a rush.

Also, a hand has accidentally slipt downwards towards Linda's very lovely heart-shaped bottom.

"D-dear!" ~she gasps a little
"Uhmmm?" ~he fakes innocence as he keeps kissing and groping her for a little bit, then reluctantly lets her go.

With a sigh, he gives her a little smooch.

"Don't think this is over, tho. It will be continued after we're done with our visitor, you hear me?"
"Why, yes my lord Lightbringer, whatever you say" ~she says, playing the villager girl for him
"Now that's just cruel of you." ~he says with a pout

He's not a happy paladin when he goes downstairs to meet his visitor, but that changes when he sees an old friend.

Talking over a light meal, he reads a letter from his father. It's all bad news, but there's not much he can do about it right now.

After talking and eating, his friend apologizes, but he must be going. He has other letters to deliver to the provincial lords, and must do so as soon as possible.

Cedric sits in place, holding the letter without really reading it, and thinking. He could just shrug and relocate, but he's not any more invlined to do so than a snail would be to climb a mountain of salt.

"Master, what ...?" ~Of course, Elli was present for most of the conversation so she has a very good idea about the letter's contents
"I'm going to have to go for a while, Elli." ~he looks at her~ "Can I count on you to take care of everyone?"
"O-of course master!" ~she says, folding her ears down and backwards, then nodding
"Thank you. You are a wonderful girl" ~he says as he gently pats her hair and messes it up a little
"I-i'm not a girl, you know?" ~she says too softly for him to hear
"What was that?"
"I said I won't let you down."
"Of course" ~he goes back upwards to talk with Linda

A couple of days later, he's already riding south towards the next town. There, he meets with the local lord and they go together to the next town over, slowly but surely picking up a small platoon.

With volunteers, militias and troops, he's soon riding at the head of a thousand men's corps by the time they are crossing the vast grasslands in their route to the front lines.

Their knights quickly trample down any Alquian troops they spot, and soon the troops reach the Windswept hills region, heading towards the shore to meet with the main army.

It takes a bit of eddort to turn the militia into proper soldiers, but the long march and the few skirmishes teach them about orders and formations, and by the time they reach the shore, they are already used to building and dismantling their nightly campsite.

>>
>>36060335
No, we've been paying attention to weapon tricks, it's just that the numbers for weapon damage are flat smaller than magic damage.

So take that double SoPM blast above. It first has to do an attack roll vs pdv. Say that the average for a trained soldier is 75 pdv - that's 250 dex, which seems reasonable. Our to hit chance is then (129-75)/100 = .54. Half of those attacks miss outright.

Next let's look at raw damage. Fine quality armor + 200 con would give 50 armor. Assume we're using cadenero fists because that's our highest damage melee by a huge margin. We probably have armor piercing x2, so their armor would be nullified and it'd take 9.7 rounds to kill one.

We can get crit up to 75%, and if we get deathly critical at every possible opportunity, that would be x25 or so multiplier. So for 75% of the targets in that area, they would take 7725 damage. This is us pumping 23 tricks into deathly critical, let's be clear. .75*.54= 40.5% of the targets in range die, the others are essentially unharmed.

Compare this with an archmage using HMKTM to hit everything in a 100' radius. For us, that would be 20,358 damage. And every single target would be the origin point of a 30' radius blast of that damage, as well as having those blasts bounce once. Every target in range will die. None of them can survive even half damage, so their mdv is irrelevant. SR is so weak compared to that damage they could triple it and it still wouldn't matter. -continued
>>
>>36060866
Let's say the archmage can only do that blast once because they're level 1, they can still do nearly 6000 damage (halved to 3000 most of the time) to everything in four or more 30' radius circles every single turn afterwards. It takes them 15 tricks to accomplish this.

It's cheaper and easier for an caster to do more, and more reliable damage than a weapon user.

After making sure the men traveling with him are well taken care of, Cedric finally goes over to the command tent.

His father is standing in full armor inside the tent. The gigantic figure looks more like a block of metal than a person. Perhaps a golem of sorts?

Four more figures surround the large table. Cedric easily guesses they must be the Coalition commanders for their respective forces, so he just keeps quiet while they continue with their discussion.

From the large map on top of the table, he can see that the Alquian forces are approaching like a wall of pain towards their positions.

The Coalition has too few troops, spread out in small fortifications all across the hills region.

Thankfully, it seems the Alquians have not managed to ship their siege engines and machinery into the region. The Eopolitan navy managed to wrestle control of the seas from them, so they are forced into an agonizingly slow march through the desert sands.

Once the lords are over talking, he walks in, and presents himself.

"You look well" ~says Baldric, the old man already pushing 80, yet not the least bit weaker from the fact~ "How's my grandson?"
"He's strong, and healthy, and cute, and much smarter than I am."
"You mean, at his age"
"No, I know what I said"
"Oh? so he shows that much promise, then?"

The older man hugs his son for a bit.

Well, you need to remember, we already have 75% crit chance, IIRC? and the trick that enhances critical damage multiplier its a WEAPON trick.

At this point, you can say that it is much more likely that we will hit a critic, than otherwise.

Also, with weapon skill adding to defense and even letting you bounce back spells stronger than they were thrown at you, Im honestly a bit surprised that noone is crying about how helpless mages are.

Sure, they're better at killing mindless mobs, but for tough bosses and warriors, they're not as good.

>>36061058

"When do I leave? I assume we'll need a couple of days to pick who's coming?"
"This night, if possible. There's a small team of alquian deserters that can show you the area and assist you"
"Desserters? really?"
"Why not? they empire uses mostly slaves. Most of them have no interest whatsoever in fighting for them"
"I know, but aren't they some elite brotherhood?"
"Only the jannisaries, the rest are in a position where they have to charge us or die. Those are the men you will be liberating and leading. Every 30 days, come back for supplies, then go back and take their own supplies away."

They talk for a long while, before each of them is ready to let go of the other's presence.

"...how's brother?"
"He is fine, now. His arm grew back thanks to the garsmen magic."
"But not well enough to be here?"
"I'd rather keep one of us home to keep the nobles in line. Supplies and reinforcements are a matter of life and death, after all."

5/?
>>
>>36061281
I calculated out the damage for us using cadenero fists and taking deathly critical 23 times in the post above.

And for more powerful targets, magic wins even harder. The way that the defenses are worded, they're not selective. So what we would do is attack a target with a frenzy or however else we can get multiple physical attacks per turn, then use the zodiac knight ability to add a spell attack to every one of those physical attacks. The first round we just find out how many times they can evade or reflect damage by using small spells. The second round we use small spells until we know they run out of defenses and then hit them full force with everything else.

In addition, parry and water god style hurt weapons more than evade and north god style hurt casting. PDV has a built-in evade, since misses do no damage. You can overwhelm evade and north god style by spamming weak spells. You can never overwhelm PDV, it always has a chance to nullify your damage. And you will only do noticeable damage on a crit, so 1/4 of the time, even when you hit, you still do no damage.

They walk out of the tent and head towards the easternmost barracks, where the former slaves are bunked together.

Introductions are brief, the men are ready to leave after filling their item boxes with supplies. They will raid the eastern supply lines of the empire, the landbound caravans, while the navy continues to keep seabound supplies from reaching the army.

Cedric's armor proves a problem in the sands, and after a few days, he's only wearing his chestplate under native clothing. They had to travel mostly by night to avoid being spotted, but they're now deep enough in Empire territory to begin their job.

With strike and run tactics, they harrass the supply routes for weeks, liberating and sometimes recruiting the supply bearers, adding the empire's manpower and supplies to their own.

As time goes on, Cedric grows more used to the terrain, and both him and his men grow more used to eachother.

However, it does not seem as if the war will be over any time soon. They rais and ambush the supply trains, but there's always more. Eventually, they have to go back north to report and resuply, get fresh weapons and armors for their new companions, an update on the situation, and the likes.

It is, in few words, not good. The navy is having a much easier time with the supply ships than Cedric's raiders are having with the caravans. They move too slowly, and the desert is too vast a space to cover. As it is right now, they can only strike on the caravans that they simply stumble across in the sand.

On his return to the campsite, Cedric's fears are confirmed. The Coalition has lost several of the strongholds they had on the hills region, and the Alquian army is simply sweeping from east to west, picking the small fortresses off one by one.

The troops look dispirited and demoralized, but the news of his raids spread as his troops mingle with the regulars, inspiring them with a renewed spirit to fight.

The empire's army is large, yes. But if the navy keeps cutting their supplies in the west and he keeps raiding their caravans in the east, they will soon lose steam.

The marshalls of the coalition do not share the troops general excitement, however. While it is true that the empire will have to slow down soon, that does not help the troops stationed in the fortresses, nor replenishes their own numbers.

For now, Baldric wants to pul the army back, let the Alquians take the fortresses after they have been burnt and poisoned, then have them try and drag their siege engines over the hills before meeting his knights on the open grassland.

"With some luck ~he says~ we can convince the Yellowleaves elves to take out side. They could be great allies"
"With all due respect, Baldric, you're dreaming. They don't see any difference between you, an alquian, an orc, or a goblin. Whoever we send as an emissary has a 50/50 chance of coming back with an arrow in each eye" ~says the dwarven high commander

"It is only proper. If we fall, they will fall too, shortly after. They may be as stubborn as brats, but this is no time for coddling brats"
"Agreed" ~says the black lake representative~ "either they stand with us, or fall alone."
"They will say you betrayed them, you know that, right?" ~says the dwarven lord
"I wasn't aware we were allied already? how can we possibly betray someone we are not allied with? if they join us, we'll make a single, unified front before the Alquians. Then they will be glad out army is so close at hand."
"And if they dont?" ~asks the dwarf
"Then they're not really allies we need to care about, are they? I have grandchildren already. I'm not about to throw them into Alquian chains."
"Agreed"
"Aye, agreed"

As it turns out, the elves went beyond everyone's expectations, however.

Not only did they refuse to join the Coalition, they attacked them, turning the war into a three way between the Coalition, the forest, and the empire.

Cedric continued to raid the coalition supplylines. His troops had grown good at it, moving in and out like ghosts. Eventually they identified most of the supply routes, and the empire's charge, so powerful at first, slowed down as it lost thrust and momentum.

Cedric's feydakin troops had become a staple in the war zone now. Harrasing not only the caravans, but the rear guard of the empire, forcing their commanders to divert troops and resources to guard the south, which should be friendly territory.

During one of his trips back to the Coalition command post, Cedric runs into an old friend.

Danren had been pretty much his accomplice on most of the troubles he got into back when they were youths... come think of it, maybe he was to blame for most of them?

Still, the two men were happy to see each other, and talk about the old days.

It's in this mood that a letter arrives. It had been opened en route, however.

A faulty envelope, indiscreet nomads, or an Alquian spy?

That was not something lord Baldric was willing to gamble with.

A few days later, Danren left towards Albion.

As Cedric's Feydakin raid the caravans, they begin gathering information about the status of the Empire in the south.

The last of the First Night nobles in the empire has gone missing. With the heir missing, the nobles begin bickering about the line of succession, and the war effort becomes secondary for most of them.

The Khoose noble house, which had been supplying the Alquian army with enslaved genies and magical beasts, withdraws from the war front, which means the Empire loses its maon advantage, air scouts and spotters.

With the genies gone, the dwarfs and their gryphons become the preeminent power in the air now.

Locating enemy caravans and relaying the information to Cedric's Feydakin vastly improves their efficiency, and the war becomes a battle of attrition, with the empire just barely managing to gain any terrain at all.

Things look like they may take a turn for the worse when the Cauldron emerges in the middle of the Alquian army.

It is unknown how they managed to get it there, but now they can feed their army independently of supplies, or so it seems.

Over the next year, the fabled cauldron stops producing food, however, and as soon as the new Eopolitan rock-it ships begin flying south, the war is all but over.

Bombardment runs repeat with impunity over the empire's forces. Their siege weapons manage to take a light cruiser down thanks to its captain's recklessness, but it is obvious for everyone that the war is over now.

With the declaration of an armistice, troops are given right of passage to return home, and the war is, for now, over.

It looks as if the empire is over in several ways now.
With the disappearance of their last heir, the houses have begun in-fighting amongst themselves.

"What now, father?" ~says Cedric while having a meal in the commander's tent
"We go home, make merry, and hope that my grandchildren will live completely boring and uninteresting lives"
"...oh, I haven't told you much about your grandson, have I?"

***End for now***
>>
>>36062887
Well, you know, it will take the empire a while to get their shit together and properly study the rock-it ship remains they managed to smuggle down into their territory.

Like this won't ever possibly be used in a few years.

Empire using slave legions means they could likely replace lost troops easily enough if though.

Wonder how the total economic weight goes either way also, can the empire rebuild quick, since it was not like the lost much production capacity.
>>
dose anyone else thing Zoe and Stella cling to one another when their not around Eldric but also bicker constantly due to their opposing beast natures
>>
>>36063018
So, going by 5 damage per 1 foot for falling that King said in an earlier thread, we can survive a fall from 16,000 feet. I would expect us to double that value by the time this war rolls around again.

So jumping off a ship before summoning our dragon wouldn't even be that dangerous.
>>
>>36063161
ya but we would be summoning the dragon as we fall so there wouldnt be any real damage
>>
>>36062919
>Well, you know, it will take the empire a while to get their shit together and properly study the rock-it ship remains they managed to smuggle down into their territory.

Well we will have a slight advantage on rock-it development, however I expect the empire to but together a shit large fleet of them.

I think one of the days we should swing by the production factor and just commission our own personal high speed one for the family.

Buy one, and then there is an instant market for them.

Anway the schedule I have in mind, on broad strokes, is like this
age 12 dad sends us to eopolis for a couple of years
age 15. As an adult, we can now go wherever we want, legally. With our own skyship, we can go back "home" to albion and see the girls again, or get drafted into grandpa's final adventure as he does what he always wanted to do and explore the north, towards the Land of Gars in Chaos Crusher or probably a smaller ship
Age 16, Mako gets kidnapped, we go in and slap the vizier's shit to get her back
May or may not marry some of the girls at this point
Age 18. ...I think that at this point we are going into spoiler territory since its stuff thats not obvious atm
>>
If we're going to be leaving the family behind to head to eopolis, we need to write down things like class stats so everyone that's left can have a reference.

We also teach them to record their job levels, and basic leveling theory if we haven't told them that already.

I figure they'll slack off while we're not there, but we should at least try and give them the infrastructure to strengthen themselves if they want.

honestly? afaik really long swords like those dont have scabbards, they have sort of "supports" for the tip and its like carrying a backpack.

Meant in 2 years.

The princess doesn't have to be in power. We could try to make the yellowleaves less dysfunctional without returning their monarchy. Delicious brown elf princess could be a political activist trying to do the same thing, maybe.
>>
>>36064290
>I guess we could return them to glory? but i have no idea how to do that

Depends, what happens to the elves would make it easier.

One of the threads you were kicking around the elves being humbled by the orcs and some mercs that were working with empire kicking them out or damaging them badly.
>>
>>36064376
ah right, i forgot about that

Then again, a princess in exile isint much better than "you saved me from slavery, marry me" you know?

maybe she is trying to rally the disparate groups in the forest. I could see that as being politically active, but i still cant see how to help with that

ah wait, how about if she takes control of the northmost part of the forest region? then we could meet her and befriend her and start shipping/mail routes between her "new capital" and the rest of the coalition. Then the elder council, seeing all these changes, are afraid of losing control, and try to destroy the new community.

Then we can help militarily, through an official request from the royal line/house, right?
>>
>>36064328
Do any items give bonus stats on level up?
If not we need to get a set of armor with maximum CON bonuses

If there is any way to increase mana per level we need to jump on it.
If there is any stat that gives mana per level we need to drop all of our bonus points on it immediately.
Otherwise we should put at least half in CON while we can still get a huge advantage leveling lower tier jobs

Orcs invade, split the empire. Get the stuff council in the south, with a majority of the elves. Get the princess in the northern section, trying to hold on.

Council is not interested in helping or retaking lost land so she looks towards the alliance.

yes but hes talking about something that gives stats on level up
IIRC there were summons in FFVIII that did that. I remember abusing the fuck out of those by leveling that skill and then equipping the characters with +stat on lvl up.
It was so funny seeing the gunman/cowboy using his weakest limit break, the fast shot, and still do 9999 damage per shot, shooting super fast

Pretty much beat the game with that alone, even if it was retarded that str raised gun damage

Yeah, FF was pretty simple in that regard, str raised ALL physical damage, I guess

>Orcs invade, split the empire. Get the stuff council in the south, with a majority of the elves. Get the princess in the northern section, trying to hold on.
I sort of want the orcs to stay in the forest, tho. Then we can have cute orcxelf couples

"hey, orc, we're going to be alone in the forst for a month"
"Don't worry elf, I got protection"
"S-stupid orc!" *stomps out*
"Jeez, what's wrong with a guy taking along his best shield?"
>>
>>36064957
>I sort of want the orcs to stay in the forest, tho. Then we can have cute orcxelf couples

Have that be one of the things that pisses off the council. Like, reasonable orcs decide they've had enough of their cannibalistic brethren and migrate to the forest. Elf princess doesn't shoot them on sight for whatever reason, finds out they're ok neighbors and lets them integrate.

A splinter group of orcs doing what you describe seems more reasonable to me given what we know of their culture.
>>
>>36065138

Maybe there should also be some sort of low brewing civil war brewing, because of how they handled the response to the southerns invasion
>>
>>36065326
At the very least there should be calls for the councilmen's heads considering what a clusterfuck they made of the situation. There is almost no way for the elves to win either war, let alone both at once.
>>
>>36065407

Yeah, what I gather is that the elves were about as strong as any of the major partners of the coalition.

They said fuck them both, and attacked them both? If the empire had much stronger supply lines they would be in a lot weaker position.

For items that give a boost on level of +1 seems reasonable, as most people don't level all the low level jobs, it will only be an overall boost of maybe 100 over the course of an average adventurer's career, and half the point of the quest is taking advantage of being a munchkin with our knowledge of games.
maybe they sound better if they are cursed a bit, like the training bands in Pokemon that give a bit better stats with an in battle reduction of speed
>>
>>36065678
heh, i think it would be funnier if the gods eventually update the system so eldric's children for example cant abuse it
somehing like "from this generation onwards, stats are kept track of separately depending on your active job"
or something like that
>>
>>36065813

>>
>>36065845

>>36065813

Need to give each class have a cap, where it applies a bonus to stats when maxed when not in the class.

Someone who 'maxes' a bunch of jobs to the point, like level 60 or so, then gets a minor stat bonus when not equipped, like +20 to all or something.

I am interested to see what can happen with the elves since some of us want something to happen there.

I can basically see a small time civil war between the royalists and the council. It goes out of hand and thus you get them split into 2 countries and somehow Eldric gets involved. Probably from friends in the school.
>>
>>36066309
>Need to give each class have a cap, where it applies a bonus to stats when maxed when not in the class.
what? can you retype that, please? i didint got what you meant
>>
>>36066588
What about "disabled jobs grant 1/5 their stats, except for prerequisite jobs"
>>
>>36066588

Ok, I know I sometimes make a hash of stuff.

It was for how the gods would 'fix' the system after we abused the hell out of it.

When you change classes, you only keep the stats of the prior classes in the same line. So if you are Noble 40 Knight 20, Lord 20 and Marshal 1, you keep all those stats.

If you push them to Noble 62, Knight 40, Lord 20 and Marshal 20 you still keep those stats.

If you switch to Healer 1, the only stats you keep is the Noble 62.

The Gods decide that Knight class threshold is 100, the lord one is 80 and the marshal is 60. Once you pass it you gain a smaller bonus to stats when the class is inactive. Say +20 to all stats for each class past that point.

So a Noble 120, Knight 100, lord 80, marshal 60 who switches to healer 1 would get the stats of a noble 120, healer 1, and then +60 to all stats due to passing the threshold with 3 classes.

Of course a Scion in the future could be changed to allow 2 classes to be active at the same time. They might have more stats but it would not be a godly difference.
>>
>>36066656
uhmm... i dont know why you worry so much about something thats meant to be an epilogue funny note, but if you really want to think about it from a balance pov, how about

1) Jobs only give stats up to level 20
2) Beyond that, rising a job stil keep giving passive and sctive bonuses per level. For example, an archmage keeps gaining a daily use of dragonfoce every 10 levels
3) Jobs keep the stats gained from their required subjobs

Or maybe attack and defense are determined by the level of the current job, rather than stats
So for example, even if you had 60 levels in everything, if you were a level 20 justicar, for example, you could have a +60 to basic attack and ability rolls, PDV and Armor, and a +20 to MDV and SR
A level 20 archmage would have +60 to abilities and spells, MDV, and SR, and +20 to Armor and PDV as well as basic attack rolls

Stats would still give bonuses to damage and ability checks, but wouldnt be so overpowering when it came to combat attack/defense

Of course, since some weapon tricks still add bonuses to attack and/or damage, weapon tricks would be the new source of OPness
>>
>>36066771
oh that sounds rather good
>>
>>36066859
Well, I'm sure Aradonin is still discussing this in order to balance HIS quest.

I just really like the idea of "mastering" jobs. Then you have a secret Freelancer or Onion Knight job that has NO job abilities, but receives 100% stats from ALL jobs.
>>
>>36066909

In a way, I am thinking about keeping the stat and job system, but I want to come up with a different combat resolution system.

I am thinking of using a 'combat card' system for tactics. The players chose a tactics card in each round, or invent a new one by planning things out and then the round resolves through one die roll, with cards having a weakness or strength.

Also introduce a hidden MC only fate stat that affects how rolls are handled.

Starts with taking average of 2 rolls, improves to average highest 2 of 3 and so on.
>>
>>36066998
play... uhmmm i liked it...played it last year when i was still able to see alright, hold on may be on my steam account... Endless Space. Try it out, has combat based on card system
