Why is she calling me, did she find out that I lied to her about how I got my Branch? Or maybe she found out that I'm the one who killed that guy and now she's going to haul me in to super power people jail...

...no, I gotta be brave. There's no point in freaking out when I don't even know why she called. And if anything bad happens, I'll call Charlotte and she'll probably be able to get her father to do somwthing to help me.

Just thinking about that guy makes me sick to my stomach.

"He was in this city and then he was killed... along with most of the members of his organization," Irene says.

I don't want to play magic police, I just want to live my normal peaceful life with my friends. If Irene wants to deal with this crap then good for her.

With that, I hang up my phone and fall back onto my bed. I don't want to deal with another psychopath with magic powers!

Bemoaning my situation, I turn off the lights in my room and curl up beneath the covers of my bed. Maybe I'll feel less freaked-out by this in the morning.
