You are Captain WILLIAM PIERCE, a combat rescue officer of the United States Air Force.

Well, it turned out that Hessler's Blitzkrieg strategy was a rousing success. In the space of a few days, she had managed to effectively push across nearly the entire Korean peninsula from one coast to the other, with lower than expected casualties. You suppose she took lessons from the great commanders of the past like the original proponents of Blitzkrieg, Patton, and her own grandfather.

In the aftermath, Kangdong was successfully taken, opening up a route for the Marines into Pyongyang, and completing the total encirclement of all enemy forces stationed on the 38th. The IJA was also making good progress, and one unit was expected to make contact at Kangdong any day now.

However, even with lower than expected casualties, logistics was still swamped with having to deal with all of the wounded and the dead. Not only with friendly troops, but the enemy as well. At the closing hours of the battle, Chinese soldiers and Korean rebels began surrendering en masse, meaning that the Marines suddenly had to take core of thousands of prisoners of war. While Command was still hashing a way to get those POWs transported somewhere secure, they ordered medical personnel moved closer to the front as a stopgap measure. This was where you came in. You were tasked with transporting a high profile healwitch to Kangdong, a Dr. Rubens, if you remember the briefing correctly. You were also taking Elsa to be placed back with Hessler, who was still stationed at Kangdong.

The flight had been quiet so far. However, Bullseye keeps the Ghost Hawk low to the ground. This far into the peninsula, warplanes, even those stationed from the newly established airbases, had trouble flying all the way into the middle of the peninsula, so even though your forces had the air advantage here, it was only nominally so.

Still, the ride was rather quiet. You take a look into the passenger compartment to see Red in a rather deep conversation with Rubens. From what you heard, Rubens was the healwitch who treated her, Tarin, and Elsa.

"You two seem awfully friendly with each other." You note as you turn to the healwitch pair.

"Oh, Dr. Rubens has been teaching me how to use my healing ability more efficiently!" Red says happily. "She's amazing!"

"Not really much to it." Rubens shrugs. "Academy-level healwitch training is good for general situations, but horrible if you want be an actual medical professional."

"Really now?" You raise an eyebrow.

"That's right. At the Academy, they're more concerned with getting the job done and less about how much magic is used. Plus it's easier to teach the brute force method."

"Ah, I see." You nod. You didn't even know there were intricacies to magical healing. "So you've been teaching Red?"

"Just giving her a few pointers here and there." Rubens replies. "But she's picked it up quite fast, and well... she's got a lot of potential. I don't know if you know, but she's got huge magic reserves laying untapped."

"She does?" You blink.

"I do?" Red blinks.

"Yep. These eyes don't lie." Rubens points to her owns eyes, which glow for a brief few seconds to emphasize her point. "Look, Red, if you decide to sign on to a full time medical program... I think you'd do a lot of good."

"Huh, have you ever thought about that, Red?" You ask.

"Eh, not really. 'Doctor' was not exactly something I envisioned myself in doing." Red says as she leans back in her seat. "Plus we're in the middle of a war and everything..."

"Well, you don't have to do it NOW." You roll your eyes. "But I think it's definitely something you should keep in mind for the future. You can't be a soldier forever."

"Hah, my uncle would say otherwise." Red laughs. "But yeah, I'll think about it."

"If you do, give me call. I'd be glad to mentor a student like you." Rubens smiles. "Though honestly, I'm surprised that Janice didn't teach you anything."

"You know Janice?" You blink.

"Well, of course. Few witches on the west coast don't." Rubens smiles. "We both went to the Academy together, though I'm a bit older than her so I graduated before she did. Kind of lost track of her after she said she was joining the Air Force."

"I see." You nod.

For all her obnoxious, she does love Katsumi dearly. She's practically the first person to treat and love Kat like a regular person, not royalty or divinity. It's a quality Katsumi cherishes, and one that Jess just does naturally without thinking.

"What was she like back then?" You ask, curious.

"Oh, terribly shy!" Rubens laughs. "You couldn't have even a casual conversation with her without her breaking out in a sweat!"

Your attempts to imagine such a thing happening must have shown on your face, since Rubens laughing gets even louder.

"You wouldn't know it from looking at her now, right? She worked hard to get over her anxiety, you know. She's always practice talking to herself in the mirror, too. I guess I helped in a way. A lot of the students initially didn't want to talk to her."

"She was unpopular?" You blink.

"More like, everybody was intimidated by her parents." Rubens continues. "Having a well connected family goes both ways. Her father's a world famous attorney and her mother is an Academy administrator. Also, she always earned top grades and honors no matter what she was doing. I'm sure many of the students felt they were beneath her notice."

"And you didn't?"

"I guess you could say I have an eye for finding those in need." Rubens winks. "Really, all she needed was a shoulder to lean on and a person to talk to. By the time I graduated she was the most popular girl in school!"

"Interesting." You nod. "And uh, any dark secrets you can tell me?"

"Oh..." There's a mischievous glint in Rubens' eyes. "And what can you offer me for those secrets?"

"Me and Janice are a couple." You say simply.

"Oh myyyyyy." Rubens' eyes flash. The way she speaks reminds you of a certain Japanese emperor for some reason. Her eyes scan you with a renewed interest. "I have to say, she didn't choose too badly."

"Um... thanks?"

"Well, in that case..." Rubens leans in and whispers. "Princess Bride is guaranteed to 'get her in the mood.'"

"Really?" You blink.

"Oh yes. We both went to see it together once. She absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOVES that movie." Rubens nods. "Or stuff involving knights in shining armor in general. Now that I think about it, I guess I shouldn't be so surprised she'd be so attracted to you."

Suddenly, there's a loud sneeze over the squadron channel.

"Sorry about that." Janice sniffs. "I have no idea where that came from."

Good thing you weren't transmitting.

"Huh..." You make a note of that for future reference. "Anything else?"

"Oh, that was a freebie. You'll need more to offer if you want more." Rubens teases and puts a finger to her cheek. "Maybe a little kiss...?"

"No offense, Rubens, but kissing another woman without Janice's knowledge strikes me as a very good way of getting myself buried alive." You state.

"Oh, honorable AND intelligent. Jan certainly hit the jackpot!" Rubens chortles. "I guess I can stop worrying about her then. She's always a bit too trusting of others."

"It was a test?" You raise an eyebrow.

"Everything in life is a test, in some shape or form." Rubens replies simply. "And you passed this one with flying colors. By the way, her ears are extremely sensitive."

"You are a very odd person." You say.

"Why thank you."

"Hey, we're on final approach. You guys back there better buckle down." Bullseye warns.

Making sure you're properly strapped in, you see the Ghost Hawk circle around Kangdong as it looks for an opportunity to land. Below, you can see a section of pavement that the Marines have cleared out as a makeshift helipad. The city of Kangdong was still smoldering and smoking from the fires caused from the earlier battle, demonstrating how fresh the damage was. Everywhere, Marines and combat engineers were going to and fro, clearing obstacles and erecting defenses for the inevitable counterattack.

The Ghost Hawk finally touches down, and Rubens is the first to hope out. She turns to you and smiles.

"It was a nice talk, Captain. If you ever want to talk more, or if you have a medical emergency, I'm sure you'll know where to find me."

Rubens then digs into her pocket and pulls out a lollipop and tosses it at you. You catch it in your hand and read the label. Cherry flavored. You're not sure if there was some hidden message in that or not. You look at Rubens again, who puts a pipe in her mouth, waves, and disappears into the hustle and bustle of the makeshift FOB.

"Captain, I see that you're here." Hessler walks up, arms crossed. Was she waiting here the whole time? "Where's Elsa?"

"Right there." Red points to the back of the passenger compartment, where Elsa was still asleep.

"Mein gott. Of course." Hessler rolls her eyes and gently taps Elsa's head. "Elsa, stop sleeping on the job!"

"Bwah!?" Elsa's eyes shoot open. "Oh, hey El! Long time no see!"

"Well, she's doing awfully well for getting briefly captured by a Soviet witch." You say.

"Captured?" Hessler shoots a look that is both a mix of anger and concern to Elsa.

"Eheheheheh, 'captured' is a pretty strong term..." Elsa says unconvincingly. "But I'm totally fine! Partly... okay, totally thanks to the Captain here."

"I suppose you have my thanks then, Captain." Hessler nods to you. "It seems I made the right call bringing you along."

"Well, helping others is what I do." You shrug. "Either way, it looks like you've got things wrapped up here, right? If that's the case we'd better be heading back to Wonsan."

"I also have orders to return to Wonsan." Hessler nods. "The Marines landed a few more armored units and they will be sent to relieve the spearhead forces. If you don't don't mind, I would like to request an aerial escort?"

"Didn't even need to ask." You nod. "When are you moving out?"

"Once reinforcements arrive. Either when the fresh Marines arrives or the IJA does. Whichever is first."

Meanwhile, behind Hessler, you could see your witches have completed their landings and were being helped out of their strikers.

"Well, our forward operating base here is still being set up, so there aren't many amenities." Hessler motions to the base around her. "But you are free to use what facilities there are."

"I'm uh, gonna go to the aid station. See if they need any help or anything." Red says as she jogs off.

You head over to where you witches are gathered. Ghost immediately breaks off to help Rex service the Ghost Hawk's weapons, though she gives you a quick salute as you pass by. Nungesser, thankfully, doesn't go straight for Bullseye. It appears that Janice is talking to her about her air battle with the Chinese while she was covering for Hessler's advance. From the enthusiasm she's showing, it's evident that the one thing she loves more than Bullseye is dogfighting.

Meanwhile, it seems like both Jetstream and Euclid were preparing to head to the south end to the FOB. Perhaps to await the arrival of the IJA forces? You vaguely remember Jetstream mentioning that both she and Euclid were from one of Japan's old samurai families. Perhaps they had relatives in the service?

Meanwhile, as always, it was immediately apparent where Tarin was. Then again, it shouldn't be too hard to find her. She always knew when to show up.

Oh, well, this was too good of an opportunity to pass up. There were very few times that you could actually catch Janice off her guard, after all. You just casually stroll up behind her, and with a grin on your face, decide to test whether Rubens' information was legitimate.

With one smooth motion you pinch both of Janice's ears from behind and rub them between your fingers. Janice gives a loud yelp and her familiar suddenly pops out. She spins around, a look of fury on her face, intent to absolutely DESTROY whoever had the gall to do that to her, and when she see's it's you, immediately turns into a confused, flustered wreck.

"W-W-Will?!" She coughs. "Why did you...?"

Janice then pauses as realization dawns on her face.

"Ruby told you about that, didn't she?! That woman!" Janice gives what you can only describe as an ultra pout.

"So you're saying you didn't enjoy that?" You grin.

"Well, I...ah..." Janice looks away. "...no comment."

Meanwhile, Nungesser was just looking on with infinite interest.

"I wish Bullseye would tease me like that." She says enviously.

"To be fair, Nun, you're not quite the type that seems easy to tease." You say, petting Janice on the head and making her blush even more. "You're pretty straightforward and don't really seem to care what others think of you."

"Is that so..." Nungesser puts a hand to her chin. "Perhaps this means a change in strategy..."

"I think your relationship is fine as it is." Janice manages to say coherently, even though she doesn't do anything to remove your hand from her head. "Bullseye wouldn't stay with you otherwise."

"Hm, true." Nungesser nods. "Oi, when we return to Wonsan, you wouldn't mind if I borrow him, would you?"

"Sure, go for it." You shrug. "But I expect my pilot to be in the same condition you found him in, got it? No broken bones or missing parts or anything."

"Fine, I'll be gentle with him." Nungesser rolls her eyes. You get the feeling you're talking to a grade schooler who would inevitably ignore your instructions.

"I mean it, Nun."

"Okay, okay. Sacrebleu..."

Nungesser then moves off to go smother Bullseye in her affections, leaving you with Janice.

"So... how much did Ruby tell you?" Janice sighs, once she's sure Nungesser is out of earshot.

"That we should watch Princess Bride together some time."

"That-!" Janice fumes. "For a woman who takes doctor-patient confidentiality so seriously she's very easygoing when it comes to a friend's secrets!"

"Ah, I think she just means well." You laugh. "It's pretty innocent stuff, in the large scheme of things."

"Still..." Janice crosses her arms and gives you a stern look. "You realize this means I'll have to get you back for that?"

"And I'm looking forward to it." You grin.

Suddenly, you hear a commotion going on. You and Janice both turn to investigate the source of the noise, and see Marines rushing to the south end of the base.

"Hey, soldier, what's going on?" You yell at one of the passing Marines.

"The IJA is coming!" He says before running off.

You glance at the Ghost Hawk, where you see Hoskins reluctantly handing some dollar bills to Rex. Looks like they were betting on which army would get here first.

"Might as well follow them." You say.

"Sure!" Janice nods.

Both you and Janice head to the south end of the base, where a number of Marines have gathered. You see Jetstream and Euclid there as well, and take position next to them.

"Waiting for the IJA to arrive?" You ask them.

"Oh yes. It's rather fortunate they come right as we arrive. I hardly have a chance to see my father these days." Jetstream smiles.

Wait, did she just say her-

However, your train of thought is interrupted by the low roar of tank engines and cheer from the gathered Marines. You look south, where you can see the first of the IJA vehicles crest the hill.

>>36215323

One thing you noticed right away were how... colorful the tanks were. The column of Type 90 tanks moving in were still in standard woodland camo, but on the backs of the turrets hung massive samurai banners.

"How pretty." Janice smiles.

"Pretty, yeah. Pretty big targets." You frown.

"Oh shush. A soldier should be allowed to show off every once in a while!" Janice chastises you.

As the leading Type 90 tank comes ever closer, you see the hatch pop open and a man in an IJA general's uniform climbs out and gives a salute as his tank approaches the FOB's south checkpoint.

"General Takefuji of the Imperial Japanese Army 1st Cavalry Division reporting for duty!" The general bellows.

The Marine crowd parts, revealing Hessler. She strides up to the Type 90 and looks up at its commander.

"Lieutenant Colonel Hessler, acting commander of the Marine Expeditionary Force." She says curtly.

Wait... that last name, plus the symbols on the banner of his tank matched up with the symbols on Jetstream's officer jacket...

Was this man her father?

"Papa!" Jetstream says happily as she clambers up the side of the tank and gives the general a hug around his chest.

Well, you guess that confirms it.

"Chikami!" General Takefuji roars in laughter. "I never thought I would see you here!"

"Well, what are you still standing around here for? Get back to your stations!" Hessler barks. The crowd quickly begins to disperse, with only the perimeter guards and the personnel necessary to direct the freshly arrive reinforcements remaining. General Takefuji meanwhile pulls his tank to the side an disembarks. You notice he carries a large katana, just like his daughter. He gives Jetstream a big bear hug, and when she's let down, she turns to you and waves for you to come over.

"Oh dear, I never thought Jetstream would be so well connected..." Janice muses.

Taking Jetstream's cue, you walk over to where she and her father are. Euclid hangs off to the side, leaning against the tank.

"Ah, so you must be Chikami's commanding officer!" General Takefuji gives you a quick scan. "General Himeo Takefuji."

"Captain William Pierce." You salute. "Your daughter -I mean- Major Takefuji is one of the finest witches I've served with."

"Oh, no need to be so formal!" General Takefuji laughs. "Formality is something reserved for the Imperial Court, not the battlefield!"

"Papa..." Jetstream nudges her father. "Perhaps you can tell us how the IJA fares in Korea?"

"Ha! Morale has never been higher!" General Takefuji puffs with pride. "The Chinese are in full retreat and have hardly put up a fight. At least in my sector!"

"Perhaps because they know they're going up against a Takefuji." Euclid adds.

"Oh, little Yuko!" General Takefuji ruffles Euclid's hair. "I see you're doing well, too."

"Y-yes, sir!" Euclid squeaks.

"Now, I have a question." Janice steps forward and points at his sheathed katana. "General, is that for show, or do you actually use it in battle?"

"Why wouldn't I use a sword in battle!?!" General Takefuji laughs. "Why, just the other day, a Chinese tank rammed mine, and I grew so offended at such a dishonorable tactic that boarded their tank and administered the proper punishment to them!"

You're trying to picture these events in your head and you come to one conclusion. General Takefuji and Red should probably never meet alone. She might just sign on to his unit on the spot.

"Excuse me, General." Hessler finally steps in. "While it is nice that you are catching up with your relatives, there is still the matter of the war. Since you're the first IJA unit to link up wtih us, we need to decide on a plan of action."

"Why, of course!" General Takefuji nods. "What shall we do?"

"We have two options at this point." Hessler says. "You can west and enter Pyongyang and reinforce the IJN units there, or you can move west to help shore up our lines. They're stretched thin after pushing all the way here. Personally, I think you should help reinforce the lines. It would help against possible counterattacks, and the open terrain would suit your tanks better."

"Hmmmm, but I would rather go to Pyongyang and show the the IJN a thing or two on how to fight!" General Takefuji frowns.

They then both turn to you.

Realistically, he could do a better job at showing the IJN how to fight if holds the front line against what is certain to be a vicious counter attack.
>>
>>36219836
>>I think he should reinforce the frontlines.

The chinese will probably counter attack soon. If the frontlines are overstretched then we risk them breaking through somewhere and flanking the shit out of us.
>>
>>36219914

Despite the increased risk, tanks are absolutely invaluable in urban environments. That big honking 120mm will absolutely fuck up anything it sees, which goes double to anything in a building because being in an enclosed space vastly increases the effectiveness of HE. Properly supported tanks can and will excel in urban environments.
>>
>>36219836
>I think he should reinforce the frontlines.
>>
>>36219914
Yet Armored unit still played big role on urban warfare. Having heavy firepower to breach possible enemy stronghold is always welcomed by infantry.

Risky? Yes. Not needed? No.

....why do i imagine Whitmann now?
>>
>>36219973
It's true that armor does have its uses in urban warfare, but we really don't want to risk a counter-attack breaking through the front lines, especially if they got any more of those super tanks.
>>
>>36219961
And what happens when every other Chinese soldier is carrying an RPG with shaped charge warheads? Armor gets fucked that's what.

Urban warfare is deadly for anyone in an assaulting role, doubly so for big, slow targets. At best they can assist a well trained and equipped infantry force, but a primarily armored force would suffer heavy causalities.

Hmm, wonder what Maus would have to say about this.
>>
>>36219836
"Personally? I think you should reinforce the frontlines, General." You say. "Like Hessler says, the open ground is more conducive to your unit and your style of fighting."

"Hm, perhaps you are right." General Takefuji nods.

"You should listen to him." Jetstream adds. "Captain Pierce's calls have not led astray yet."

"Well then, it's decided!" General Takefuji nods, his daughter's approval all he needs. "We shall go east!"

"Thank you, General. Your support will be greatly appreciated." Hessler smiles and turns to you. "And thank you, Captain."

"Oh, it's nothing much. I just gave my opinion." You shrug.

"The way things are going, your opinion carries a lot of weight." Hessler says. "In either case, we should probably be going. Our convoy is due to leave for Wonsan soon. Are you ready?"

And if you think that the tank is just going to sit there and blunder into a trap like a dumbass, then I've got some bad news to break to you. No, a tank is not going to just wander obliviously into an area they know that could be obviously trapped unless they're Iraqis, anyone with two brain cells to rub one another with is going to have its infantry escort to check the place out first. That's half the point of bringing a fucking infantry escort.

>>
>>36220118

The main purpose of tanks is to bring direct fire artillery into the faces of anyone it doesn't like, which it does preeeetty well with that 120mm. It is NOT there to soak up shots, which some people seem to be missing.

Sure that has its risks, but the benefits are tangible enough that the Israelis practically designed a line of tanks designed with urban warfare in mind, and the US bringing out the TUSK upgrade for the Abrams.

>>36219961
Actually, at this point in time I believe that apart from a very small handful of barely-off-the-factory-lines Type 90s, Japanese tanked were still rocking only 105 and 90mm guns.
>>
>>36220083
The problem is that you can't pretend that RPGs aren't an actual threat to armor, even the enhancements provided to modern MBTs can't stop the fact that urban environments mean that threats can come from any direction, and modern anti-tank weapons are being developed with TUSK/TROPHY in mind, and they'll still be rather portable and easy to use from any number of locations in a city, while a tank is forced to move at the speed of infantry so they can cover it from threats the tank itself may not detect in time.
>>
I remember watching a documentary interviewing Sherman tankers rolling into Germany back in WW2. They had time delay-fuses on their HE shells which they set by twisting the nose around. When fired through stone walls they would detonate on the other side.

Still a rather dangerous business even if you have infantry support. Especially if the ROE doesn't allow for terrain gentrification.

"No, we're ready to go." You say.

"All right. Get ready to move out within the hour." Hessler nods.

Soon enough, you and your witches are up in the air, along with Ugly and few Hueys and Cobras acting as gunships and scouts. Down below, you could see a long column to tanks, APCs, and support vehicles as the tired and battered spearhead force was heading back to Wonsan to recuperate. Leading the column was Hessler and the Marine tankwitches. They kept up state of high readiness, their guns armed and ready to fire. Even though these areas had already been taken by the Marines, they hadn't been fully cleared yet, so there was always the possibility of running into Chinese stragglers or Korean insurgents.

Fortunately, the ride is rather uneventful, at least most of it. When you begin closing in on Wonsan, Hessler hails you on the radio.

"Captain, the forward elements in this area are reporting movement in the forest up north. Do you think you and your witches can check out the area? We're almost to Wonsan and the last thing I want is to get ambushed."

"Roger that." You say. "Bullseye, turn us north. Tarin, go check out that movement."

With that, your entire squadron reorients and begins heading north, with Tarin leading the way. Sure enough, even from up in the air, you can tell something is moving in the forest. Trees rustle and shake, and some are just straight up knocked down.

"Captain, I've got a visual on vehicles. A lot of vehicles." Tarin says. "I also have a possible visual on Overlord."

"Are you sure?" You blink.

"Wait-"

Suddenly, Overlord breaks out of the treeline, sending leaves and splintered wood flying everywhere. At its flanks smaller Chinese tanks and armored vehicles swarm around it like flies.

"Hessler, watch out! We've got Overlord and an entire enemy armored force directly north of your position!" You warn. "I count 20+ tanks and AFVs. I suggest you get ready for a fight!"

"We can easily handle them." Hessler assures you.

"Captain." Tarin cuts in. " I think there's more."

You look at the treeline again, which was still shaking and rustling. More vehicles?

And then another Overlord breaks the treeline. And another. And another. And another.

Your jaw drops as you find that you're not facing one, but six Overlord tanks.

"Hessler, I got more bad news..."

I'm talking about tanks in general, not just the Japs.

And in any case, while not as potent as 120mm, those guns work. The concept of tanks as direct fire artillery stretches all the way back to WWII for pity's sake.

>>36220202
Yes, I am not pretending that urban combat in cities does not have its risks. This applies to pretty much any situation when you are facing anything resembling a peer enemy, or even someone who knows what he's doing. What I am arguing is that tanks are not helpless moe anime girls whenever it meets an infantry unit in a city, and the fact that people actually do bring tanks into cities numerous times and care enough to create urban environment specific upgrades shows that the benefits of tanks in cities are real enough that people go through the expensive and timely process of making them better at it.

The Suffering of Ayumi Ogawa #3

-

Ayumi Ogawa squinted hard at the target, a hundred feet away. A novice target by her standards, an arrow perfectly centered on it.

"HELL YEAH! BULLSEYE MOTHERFUUuuuudger."

"Congratulations, Jessica!" Katsumi applauded. "You may very well be a natural."

'At least she is learning to control her language almost as well as she controls her bow,' Ogawa thought.

She'd been able to evade Jessica for two whole days, which she had secured by finally claiming Lt. Chousokabe from her IJN unit, pushing through the necessary paperwork to make her one of Katsumi's guards. She'd needed familiarization flights in her new patrol sectors, and of course she needed to complete the various exams to fully certify her competence for the new posting. Ogawa would have been a failure as a commanding officer if she hadn't seen to such important duties.

On day three, the charade ended.

Katsumi was more perceptive than Ogawa gave her credit—for which she was resolved to later apologize for thinking so little of Her Highness. She'd subtly guided Ayumi to the range, where to her dismay Bishop and Chousokabe waited, excitedly discussing anime together. Lamenting the apparent corruption of her new wing witch, Ogawa was resigned to finally giving the lessons that Bishop wanted.

It was as Katsumi said: it came naturally to Bishop. Her form, while rough, was still enough to strike her target. Her control over magic seemed fine enough that she would be able to try some proper long-distance shooting soon, and she'd probably be hitting those targets just fine after several days.
>>
>>36220289

Hate to say this, but that has to be one of the ugliest tank designs I've ever seen.

This is coming from a guy who knows what the Leman Russ looks like.
>>
>>36220290
That irked Ogawa on some base level, she who had worked so diligently for seisha hicchū: true shooting, certain hitting. It was a hobby, but she believed her growth in the form was something to be proud of. From nothing into one of the best in Japan. Had she been born a Nabeshima, that might have meant more, but she was still proud of it.

Now some gai—someone new to the art did in the space of hours what had taken Ogawa weeks to regularly accomplish. It didn't matter that Bishop wasn't consistent with her shooting, at least not yet. What mattered was that she could do it, and that luck wasn't involved.

She did take some solace in that Chousokabe did not seem quite as gifted.

-

Katsumi had left the range early, Chousokabe going with her. As the newest witch to the guard, she would be taking on most of the non-essential escort duties. Surprisingly, Jessica did not protest when she was told to stay behind and help Ogawa clean up their lane.

They walked in silence, picking up stray arrows as they encountered them. The whole time, Ogawa swore she could feel the American's eyes on her. The silence was just fine, but if it went on long enough, she would inevitably try to start conversation. There had to be something to all this.

"Y'know, I think I kinda get why you like this kyudo thing so much, Commander Ogawa."

"Oh?" Ogawa turned to the younger witch. This was going to be interesting.

"It's actually kinda relaxing, and kinda satisfying, I mean it's not like shooting a gun and definitely not like shooting a proper weapon I mean your Type 89's not total garbage but—" She paused when she noticed Ogawa's expression harden at the insult to the rifle. "It's relaxing. And satisfying."

"...I agree, it is both of those things." She thrust another bundle of arrows to Bishop for her to collect. "I am surprised we agree."
>>
>>36220297
I've seen worse.
Overlord vanilla (without upgrade) actually looks nice.
>>
>>36220312
"It's different from what I usually do to relax. Me and Kat like to listen to music and watch TV a lot, and that karaoke thing is a lot of fun but this is mostly quiet except for when the string hums like TWAAAAANNNNNGGG and you hear the arrow hit the target. It's like 'Hey you, job well done!' and the arrow sticking out of the target is like you're making a personal statement, and that's pretty cool."

"So... you like it?" Ogawa couldn't fight off the smile growing on her face. "It certainly lets me relax after a long patrol, better than reading books. And I must agree, it is very satisfying to see that perfect shot strike home."

"Uh huh!" Jessica nodded.

"I did not think a foreigner would appreciate a sport like this," Ogawa mused aloud. "Much less an American."

"Why not? Lotsa folks used bows at some point, American Indians used bows." Jessica shrugged. "Always rooted for them in the westerns, like they're the underdogs who kept getting told they couldn't do something by people and it'd have been nice if they didn't lose so much all the time. Made those movies all kinds of depressing..."

Ogawa blinked, rolling that statement around in her head for a few moments. American history was something she did not bother to read about, much less comment on. She genuinely didn't know this, and now felt very ignorant.

She was also worried that she'd say something that would reverse all the progress she'd apparently made towards getting along with Bishop. Even if she didn't feel Jessica was a good fit for the Royal Guard, they were getting along; Katsumi would be happy. That was ultimately all that mattered.
>>
>>36220330
"I... suppose that, ahhh... might make sense, uhm, for you, then..."

"I'm not an Indian, Oggy!" Jessica laughed.

"I'm sorry, I did not intend—what I mean is—"

"Archery's alright..." Jessica stood on her toes, stretching her arms out and yawning loudly. "It's a helluva lot more interesting than soccer just thinking about that dumb sport makes me tired."

"Football?"

"Soccer."

"...We are not having this conversation," Ogawa declared.

Two hours later, the conversation ended with Ogawa stomping away in a huff, reassuring herself that it didn't matter how much Americans made fun of "divegrass." They'd never be good at it, anyway.

-

"Finished your kyudo lessons with Commander Ogawa already?" Katsumi asked as Jessica walked into the room.

"Yeeeeaaaaaaaah, about that." Jess skipped past Katsumi, scoring a quick peck on her cheek as she made her way over towards a rifle case in the corner of their room. "Gonna go shoot Dad's rifle on the range a bit, seeya later–"

"You made her upset again, didn't you?" Katsumi groaned.

"She takes stuff so serious all the time!" Jess cried out. "I say ONE little thing about divegraaaasoccer, and she gets all mad! There's more important stuff to be worried about!"

"You should be more sensitive towards other people's preferences and hobbies," Katsumi marched over to poke Jess in the ribs, getting a surprised yelp out of the younger witch. "You at least try with me!"
>>
>>36220350
"That's 'cause you can make soccer super interesting to watch." Jess grinned suggestively, and the princess immediately clammed up. Spotting her opening to escape, Jess grabbed the rifle case and tried to abscond towards the door, only to be stopped when Katsumi snagged onto her uniform collar, lifting her off the ground while her legs kicked uselessly in the air.

"Do I have to make you apologize to her again?"

"I didn't say anything BAD... or wrong necessarily I just said the sport is boring, like that kabuki thing."

"...Did you know she likes kabuki almost as much as she enjoys football, or did you just pull that off by accident?"

"It's my talent," Jessica offered. Katsumi let her down with another groan. "Look, I'll apologize if you think I need to, but can it wait just a little bit?" She patted the rifle case slung over her shoulder. "I want to get range-time in before our patrol."

"Try not to insult her family inadvertently on the way there!" Katsumi called out as Jess trotted off. "I mean it!"

"I'll let her know that kendo is shit too while I'm at it!" Jess replied, ignoring the sour looks from a pair of passing witches as she went.

Katsumi looked at the two of them, a sheepish sigh escaping her lips. "… She's only kidding, I swear."

-

Ayumi was still fuming over Bishop’s accusations that the Men’s National Team was actually trying out for kabuki with, in her crude words, “all that dramatic flopping around and shit.” Bishop couldn’t just keep to one thing to disparage, it seemed. It had taken Ogawa immense amounts of self-control to not counter with anything equally offensive about that stupid game of Hand-Egg she bragged about so often, or the steroid-abusing men who played it. Bishop would have no doubt enjoyed their company if she wasn’t so busy being allowed to defile the Princess with her very presence.

‘Another thing I despise about this American,’ Ogawa thought. ‘She disrespects anything that does not interest her. She’s incapable of honest tact.’

“They’re probably all like that,” Ogawa muttered, studying her fingertips. They were still somewhat tender from the kyudo instruction. A visit to Makoto would be in order before the afternoon patrol–

“Commander-san? Are you well?”

Ogawa blinked at Lt. Chinatsu Chousokabe, the cracks of rifles being fired reminding her that she was on a shooting range. The younger witch was standing at attention, her weapon on the table, cleared for inspection. Amusingly, the wings of her familiar, a seagull, were also at attention, sticking straight out from the side of her head.

“I’ve completed the range test, as instructed, Commander-san!”

Shaking herself back into the here and now, Ogawa squinted at the electronic scorecard on display over Chousokabe’s head.

“Eighty-nine shots on paper, seventy-five in the black, eleven misses.” Ogawa pursed her lips in thought. “It is an improvement, though minor. You still struggle with rapid reloading; every shot you miss is still caused by this, as before.”

“Yes ma’am...” The Lieutenant was equally upset at her own performance, slouching over just slightly. “These targets only present themselves for a second, if that! It’s nothing like the ranges we used in my home unit.”

“You’ll find that the Guard is nothing like any unit in the Navy or Army.”

“I can do better, Commander, I just need another–“

“Unfortunately, you do not get another attempt,” Ogawa spoke with finality. “Three attempts, three hundred rounds. More than enough to see where you stand. These will be your official scores going into the unit.”

“M-ma’am...” Chousokabe slumped further, her headwings drooping. “Where does this place me among the witches in Katsumi’s guard?”
>>
>>36220403
“Average.” Ogawa shrugged, still maintaining her cool indifference while studying her new wing witch’s response: jaw set, teeth clenched, fists balled so tight that the leather on her gloves creaked. Ayumi knew that look; Chousokabe didn’t think she could have done better, she *knew* she could do better. She wanted to prove that she could do better.

It was a good look for a witch of Chousokabe’s age.

“Average for us, perhaps,” Ogawa continued, allowing her expression to soften. “But far better than any other candidate I could have selected for this unit. Forget those old standards, Lieutenant Chousokabe; you’ve new ones to live up to now. I chose you, because I know you can do it.”

“Tomorrow I will definitely improve,” Chousokabe said, straightening back up. She was clearly trying not to break into celebration, but her ability to control herself was also a heartening sign.

“That is an excellent attitude to have.” Favoring her new wing witch with a smile, Ogawa gave her a pat on the head; she seemed to both shrink away from the contact and enjoy it, headwings fluttering lightly. “Now then, police your equipment and shell casings, and head straight for the hangar to assist with your striker maintenance. I should be along shortly to brief you on today’s patrol.”

“THANK YOU VERY MUCH MA’AM!” Chinatsu bowed with such intensity that she nearly tipped over face first to the ground. It was hard not to laugh. Ogawa lingered around for a few minutes, making certain the newcomer did not forget anything in her haste. By the time Chinatsu finished, she was all but prancing to the quartermaster with a box full of brass. It reminded Ayumi of when she’d received her own commission to join the Royal Guard, from Katsumi herself no less. There had been a certain bounce to her step, a certain enthusiasm she’d lost as she’d grown accustomed to the position.

It’d only been three years, but so much had changed since then. Taking over Her Highness’ personal guard, the build-up to and eventual start of the war—

“Ah! Bishop-san!” Chousokabe cried out, lunging at the foreigner with an arm outstretched for a high-five. “I have done it!”

“Hey Chinatsu!” Jessica shouted back, giving her hand a hard enough slap that the sound made everyone on the range suddenly halt in place, certain that a live rifle had gone off behind them. “Whadjado, huh?”

Ayumi turned away from the scene, hoping to stay out Bishop’s sight. She kept telling herself that the insults Jessica had flung around so casually had meant nothing, but she still felt mad about it.

“Whadjado?” Chinatsu tilted her head to the side, trying to process Bishop’s slang. “O-oh! I see, yes! I have been qualifying with the raifu!”

It was hard even for Ayumi not to laugh at Chousokabe’s struggle with English. She’d lose the heavy accent sooner or later, but Ayumi found herself hoping that it was later.

“You did? That’s good news, Chousokabe-san! I didn’t think you’d be cleared for duty with us so quickly!”

Jessica had switched to Japanese, a surprise to Ogawa. She didn’t think the brat was so thoughtful towards others who weren’t named Katsumi; Chinatsu seemed grateful for the change.

“Commander Ogawa said she needed a new wing witch, so she pushed my paperwork through the system as quickly as possible.” She held up her range score card proudly. “It was a harder weapons qualification than anything I dealt with in my home unit, but I still managed this much!”

“That’s good! If there is anything the Commander will do, it's ensure that you are very acquainted with the Type 89.” Jessica gestured towards the lane Chousokabe had just vacated, patting the rifle case slung over her shoulder. “Is that open? I’d really, really like to get some shooting done.”

-
>>
>>36220429
Ogawa knew that she’d said she would meet Chousokabe in the hangar very shortly, but something about how Bishop seemed so insistent on throwing rounds downrange piqued her curiosity. If she’d had noticed Ogawa sitting on the bench next to the lane, doing her best to be as engrossed in a copy of Sphere as possible, she didn’t say anything. Bishop lay the case on the table, lingering a moment to run a hand across it before marching off towards the quartermaster; Ogawa half-expected the Marine to open the case and already have live ammunition ready for whatever lay inside. Such a violation of firearms safety regulations around the palace would only be another Americanism she would need to be corrected of.

When she did return, it was with a single magazine in hand. That got Ogawa to put her book down.

Snapping open the case, Jessica stared at the contents for a moment before producing from it a fully assembled M14 rifle. That got Ogawa to stand from her seat to get a better look at it. More specifically, it was the intricate art burned into the weapon's wooden stock that got her attention: soldiers staring into the distance at oncoming transport helicopters on one side, a pair of Marines stalking through tall jungle grass on the other. On both sides the art blended into the head of a bald eagle looking stoically down the barrel.

‘A ceremonial weapon, perhaps a gift from the Princess?’

There was nothing rough about how Jessica handled the rifle. Every motion was careful, considered. Her inspection was thorough—almost Japanese, Ogawa thought. She could sense something about the weapon, a latent magic resonating with Jessica’s own. The inspection and spot-cleaning went on until Bishop finally sighed and nodded at the rifle, apparently pleased.

“Thanks, dad.”
>>
>>36220443
With care bordering on reverence, Jessica loaded her sole magazine, and readied the weapon to fire. The weapon looked almost too large for her to handle.

‘No familiar? No scope?’

A lone target, seven hundred meters away, rose up as Bishop stepped on a foot pedal near the table. After a few moments of fiddling with the rifle, she took up a firing stance, and sighted in. Ogawa squinted at the man-sized target, her fox familiar popping to life, vision sharpening on the target just as Jessica fired her first shot.

The paper target buffeted slightly as the round passed through its head, a small circle formed right between where the eyes should be. The target wavered as Jessica kept firing, a grouping no larger than a 500 yen coin opening up on the target by the time she had fired her twentieth shot. Ejecting the magazine and clearing the weapon, Jessica set it down before turning to face a surprised Ogawa, grinning happily.

“So I guess that kyudo stuff is actually pretty useful.” She jabbed a thumb over her shoulder towards the target. “Like whatcha see, Commander?”

Ogawa wasn’t sure of what to say in response, so she merely grunted, then walked up towards Jessica, intent on getting a better look at the rifle she used—and was surprised yet again when the younger witch suddenly put herself between her commander and the rifle.

“If you ask nicely, I’ll let you look at it.”

“I’m surprised you’re not shooting more, Lieutenant.” Ogawa took a step back. “It was actually a rather impressive display.”

“Just gettin’ familiar with the old guy again. The 89’s got no kick; wanted to remember how a proper battle rifle shoots before I actually really need to shoot it,” Jess shrugged.

“Proper battle rifle?” Ogawa snorted.
>>
>>36220460
“It’s what I said and I stand by it.” The two witches exchanged a glare before Jessica continued. “And besides, ammo’s limited as is ’cause you people don’t usually have the right food for it.” She sounded indignant. “Had to get some delivered from Yokota. Now that it’s here, I’ll be taking it up today.”

“We use the Type 89 for a reason, Lieutenant.”

“I’ll take ‘em both up, whatever.”

“Will that not affect your air combat maneuvering?”

“Who do you think you’re talking to, ma’am?”

Ogawa decided to leave the matter be; Jessica seemed dead-set on taking the M14 with her. She looked over the shorter witch to get a better look at the wood burning art.

‘There is no way Bishop could have done that herself.’

“It’s something else, isn’t it?” Jessica said.

“I’m surprised you are insisting on taking it with you. Are you not worried about it getting damaged?”

“I won’t let that happen,” she responded forcefully.

“Is it a family heirloom?”

“Yeah... Dad used it when he was in the Marines. When I got out of basic, I hunted it down.” Jess ran a hand along the stock of the rifle. “Poor thing was just sittin’ there in an armory, and that felt wrong to me. It’s meant to be used, right?”

“All weapons are, but I understand the sentiment.”

“Dad doesn’t talk a whole lot about what he did in South East Asia. Whenever I asked, he’d look so... tired, and sad. He was in the 1/9, and those guys had it really rough. Got to read all about it in basic.” Jessica placed the rifle carefully in its case, hesitating on closing the lid. “I, um, I got it from the armory ‘cause I figured if it was good enough to keep dad in one piece, maybe it’d help me out too. And he was really happy when I showed him that I got it! He took me out to shoot it, he taught me how to maintain it, a-and he even got me all the coffee I wanted that day... and when I was about to deploy he did the art for me and everything—” Jessica paused to wipe at her eyes. “Ack, gettin’ all emo and stuff, hah!”

“I see...” Ogawa felt somewhat taken aback by the story. She hadn’t expected this to come from the lieutenant, and even felt guilty that she’d made such assumptions to begin with.

She also felt disgust at her sense of jealousy. Bishop’s connection with her father’s military history was embodied in that weapon. Ayumi Ogawa had no heirloom, no weapon and a proud history she could reflect on. No warm memories of father or mother passing the torch to their daughter, no traditions she was carrying forward in this new conflict for the Empire’s continued existence.

“I did not suspect,” Ogawa said, hoping her expression remained neutral, “that it held so much value for you.”

“Yeah... I can’t always talk to dad but I have his rifle, so it’s kinda like he’s right here with me.” Jess wiped her eyes again. “Yeah, it’s made things easier.”

“Do you think it’s helped you at all?”

“I think so. I’m glad we got the ammo for it in today; it’ll be good to take it up there with me again.”

“... Any objections I may have had about you and the rifle I gladly rescind.”
>>
>>36220484
“You don’t have to do that Commander,” Jessica said, smiling up at Ogawa. “I wouldn’t have listened to you anyway.”

“Noted,” Ayumi cocked an eyebrow at Jessica, earning some giggles in return. “You know, the Princess once gave me a ceremonial sword; I haven’t quite been able to bring it into combat, myself. I had assumed the rifle was a gift from her.”

“Yeah, pretty sure I’d hafta to marry her if that were the case.”

Ogawa discovered that it was possible to choke on thin air.

-

They ended up walking to the hangar together, mostly in silence. Ogawa noticed how tightly Bishop held on to the rifle case. If someone tried to take it from her now, they’d probably be in for a serious fight. Ogawa wondered if she’d step in to stop her.

“You know, I’m surprised you don’t take Katsumi’s sword into combat.” Jessica said suddenly.

“It’s... not that sort of weapon,” Ogawa mumbled. “And even if it were, I couldn’t possibly risk losing a gift from Her Highness.”

“Didn’t you say something about weapons being meant for use?”

“It’s different from, say, an heirloom from a family member.”

“Doesn’t seem all that different to me.”

“She’s a living goddess, Lieutenant—“

“Agreed.”

“—not... my father.” Ogawa had to bite her tongue for a moment. “There is a significant difference in position and worth. N-not that I mean to discount your father’s accomplishments, it’s just that—”

“It can be replaced, right?”
>>
>>36220498
“The point is not that it can be replaced!” Ogawa insisted. How could Bishop not understand? “It is that she, out of kindness, saw fit to give me a ceremonial weapon. Me! On the day I was named commander of her personal guard! Losing it or having it damaged in some way...”

“Wouldn’t she just give you a new one?” She spoke as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“She should not have to!” Ogawa cried.

“You wouldn’t even hafta ask. I bet she’d just toss ya another one.”

“T-toss me another—that is not the point!”

“I bet she’d be happier if you took it with you into combat.”

“That also is not the point!”

“Hey, whoa, don’t get all worked up,” Jessica moved several paces away from Ogawa. “I’m not saying you NEED to bring it along, I was just wondering why you didn’t. I get it, it’s super extra double important, sheesh.”

“Yes,” Ayumi breathed. “Super extra double important.”

They walked in silence for several more minutes, Jessica starting to hum to break away from the earlier awkwardness.

“...to the shores of Tripoli, nuh nah naaaaah naaaah naaaah naaaah nuuuh nuh nah, in the air on land and seeeeaaa—”

“How would you feel if you lost your father’s weapon?” Ogawa snapped. “In a sense, I’m glad I do not need to worry about such a thing. I’d be furious with myself, at my inability to honor the gift I was given.”

“I’d prolly just get a new rifle.”

“Is it really that simple for you?” Ogawa sighed loudly. Every time she thought she understood more about this foreigner, she suddenly became incomprehensible.
>>
>>36220510
“I’d prolly cry a lot about it, but I’d get a new one.” Jessica was now walking in front of Ogawa, facing her and not looking where she was going. “And for the record, Katsumi would totally replace your sword, no questions asked. It’s really that simple. I bet she didn’t give you the sword just because she thought it was a gift that, uh, ‘fit the bill,’ but I’m willing to bet she gave it to you because she wanted you to be happy and stuff.”

“...It’s a ceremonial weapon that every commanding witch of a Royal Guard unit is granted,” Ogawa spoke with rapidly fading patience. “It wouldn’t be proper if I’d never received it.”

“Whatever whatever whatEVER!” Jessica waved her arms emphatically. “Look forget all that for like a sec, okay? Stop thinking of it as part of the way crap is just supposed to be, and think of it... better than that.”

“Better than—“

“She didn’t give the sword to the new commander, she gave it to Ayumi Ogawa, who she trusts with her life and is friends with. Isn’t that better?” Jessica spun around to jog towards the hangar entrance. “I gotta catch up with Kat so I’ll see you when the briefing starts!”

Ogawa stopped walking, watching as Jessica built up to a full sprint, all but vaulting over a surprised witch who threw herself to the ground in the hopes of avoiding the American.

“That’s not how the world works,” Ayumi protested to the now distant Bishop. “It’s not.”

She’d heard this argument before, almost word for word, from the Princess herself. It hurt much more to hear it this time.

A low pitched wail broke Ogawa away from these thoughts, every muscle in her body tensing in response.
>>
>>36220522
"This is an emergency order," a woman calmly explained over the PA system. "All Royal Guard elements are to assemble for immediate deployment. I repeat..." The message was repeated twice more; Ogawa had started running as soon as she heard 'emergency order'.

For once, she was thankful to hear a scramble alarm fill the hall. Thankful to be spurred into action, thankful that she didn’t have to think about anything but what the siren meant—and what she was trained to do to the bastards causing it. All she needed to do was protect the Princess, and kill her enemies. It was simpler for things to be this way.

And that's it for now. I'll update the pastebin with the new chapter shortly.

Also: thanks for the art, Mangafag!

how the heck Bishop brothers still alive after tackled by Jess?!?
>>
>>36220547
Jess takes marksmanship with her pa's rifle very, very seriously, heh.

I like to think the Bishop brothers survive Jess tackles because they know that they are going to happen. She knows that they know they're going to happen. They pretend that they don't know, yet know that she knows that they know. Everybody knows.

After that it's all reflexes and stuff.
>>
>>36220536
Dude, feelthy, excellent story here, looking forward to the next one.
>>
>>36220536
Nice update Feelthy. Still sympathize more with Ogawa then with Jess but keep trying
>>
>>36220600
So Jess is aware she could hurt them tackling them, but foes it anyway? I want to like this girl, but you don't make it easy feelthy. It's always two steps forward, one step back with Jess.
>>
>>36220803
I thought it was one step forward and two steps back?

Well for me it's a half step forward then three steps back
>>
>>36220803
Eh, kids are kids, and when you consider that it's a household where Mommy could literally make anything feel better just by glowing blue for a few minutes, it tends to lead to some rough play.
>>
>>36220841
>Mommy could literally make anything feel better

lewd
>>
>>36220853
>"Oh, you're hurt there? Don't worry, all Mommy needs to do is give it a little kiss~!"
>>
>>36220841
You have a point. Still feel Jess is in the wrong of today's argument with Ogawa but that is just me.

Actually while I understand her brothers being aware of when she tackles them. I jsut realized that in Barin wouldn't it have hurt Frank a lot more since he got the Tomcat in his body?
>>
>>36220877
She wasn't tackling him thaaaaaaat hard. She's not the equivalent of 9 to 12 gees sustained in the middle of air combat.
>>
>>36220897
Doesn't need to be that hard to hurt him.

All she needs to do is tackle him on the right angle or something along those lines. That is what I'm just realizing.

Does Jess know that Frank nearly died in Berlin? I remember pineapples but considering several aspects of it were not known to the public I'm surprised she's worried at all.
>>
>>36220947
Jess may not know the circumstances her brothers are in, but she worries more for their safety than she does her own. It's a problem Katsumi really has with her, because Jess will put Kat's safety above her own (as shown in the thread where they worked together to save the airliner).
>>
>>36220997
I think a part of her reasoning for that is because she's a witch and their not along side general worry for her siblings.

The only part where I kind of sympathize with her is if she did find out that Frank's flying is killing him and nearly did on several occasion, is maybe her reaction to it.

Though If she still kind of looks down on steelwings then any sympathy might wither.

Rex's case will probably result in her trying to beat Wittman's face in.
>>
>>36221055
I think you meant Jake.
>>
>>36221055
She doesn't 'look down' on steelwings, so much as she thinks pilots are 'missing out' on what she gets to experience as a witch.

She does worry about how vulnerable steelwings are against witches, which means that Frank is always on her mind. It's part of why she broke down and wept when a cartoon pilot died. It wasn't just 'MUH CARTOON CHARACTER', it was a reminder that her Big Brother is mortal and could die an undignified death somewhere far from home, and she'd be too far to help him.
>>
>>36221055
>trying to beat Wittman's face in.
Oh man a massive catfight between the two witches I like the least. They're both pretty huge jingoists too, that would be huge. Like, Battle of Berlin huge. Tarin and Powers would have to coordinate their efforts and sell tickets of the event. I know I'd buy one.
>>
>>36221149
Is pinaapple even canon?

Really because I always thought that Jess and witches in general looks down on steelwings in some way

Frank is no exception probably thinks she can beat him
>>
>>36221617
It is, last I heard from Ghost.

She thinks she can beat Frank in the same way that any skilled combat witch or pilot thinks they can beat the competition. There's a certain amount (over?)confidence that comes with being part of the elite in any military. Combat pilots and witches alike are a very elite fraternity/chosen few that get do do what they do.
>>
>>36221702
Is slider besides herself canon too?
>>
>>36221742
The only lewds I've written that I believe are canon are the ones following Holly and Will from Rollercoaster.

Ultimately, Ghost has the final say.
>>
>>36221742
Oh, derp, I misread that.

Slider Beside Herself is canon, last I heard.
>>
>>36221775
Oh okay. That one and drunk ice are my favorite
