You are Ur'shal, Orc warrior, hunter, tomb robber, and slayer of horrors from the Abyss. Admittedly in the aftermath of that battle you and your two clanmates, Zo'rok and Dru'ak, were not in the best of shape, and have spent the past two days recovering your strength resting in the tomb.

You dragged the carcass of the Boneripper into one of the side rooms to try to lessen the stink, and have used the downtime to properly pick through all the remains, gathering a nice selection of steel weapons, solid shields, and even some well-made armour of metal chain and leather. You haven't bothered gathering up all the gold and jewels, perhaps if you had someone to trade it with it would be useful, but right now it's worthless.

You also have the greataxe and crown you found by the throne. You may not be a shaman, but even you can tell that the axe has magic in it. Maybe the crown does too, though you're not sure how you'd find out, and as of yet you haven't tried wearing it.

Now though, you have other concerns, your wounds are mostly healed, with just a few angry bruises to show for it, and you are getting sick of living in a tomb eating nothing but dried meat. It's time to go hunting before your triumphant return, the question is, who's going?

You gather your weapons and prepare for the hunt, giving Zo'rok a shove where he's fallen alseep sprawled over a sarcophogi.

“We finally leaving?” he mumbles, climbing down off the stone coffin.

“We're going hunting, get Dru'ak.”

He nods, yawning as he goes.

You meet your clanmates by the entrance, heading back up the ladder, squinting as you see the sunlight for the first time in two days. Life underground isn't meant for Orcs, leave that to the dwarves, goblins and sluagh.

Outside of the tomb it looks like nothing has changed, the same vast dusty wasteland you're accustomed too greets you. You drag a rock over the entrance, content that it's hidden from opportunists and curious scavengers. Now it's time to hunt, something to fill your belly and impress the clan.

>>
Dru'ak has some trouble keeping up, his leg obviously troubling him from being smacked against a sarcophogi not three days ago, but after a frustrating few hours without picking up on any trails, you and Zo'rok come across something good.

Zo'rok crouches down, squinting into the distance, following the trail of the tracks.

“Looks like a Bloatfrog, an injured one too, by how it's moving. I haven't eaten Bloatfrog in months.”

He gives a grin, one which you mirror. Bloatfrogs can be dangerous, but they have good meat, and lots of it.

You stalk the beast for some time before you eventually find it, bunched up under a large outcropping, trying to stay out of the sun. It looks fat, a fine catch, and from the look of its mangled leg, it had a fight with something before you got here. Of course, it's still large, with blunt jaws that can crush bones, and a mean disposition, but at least with its leg in that state it won't be leaping on you.

Now the question is how you approach it, it's backed up into a corner at the moment, staying out of the sun, which means that it won't have much room to maneouvre, but it also will be very hard to approach without it seeing you coming.

So what's the plan?

>Try to lure it out, pelt it with Zo'rok's sling and your javelins. (Roll 2d20)
>It's injured, all of you can go in there and finish it off (Roll 3d20)

You explain the plan to Zo'rok and Dru'ak. You'll circle round, climbing up to the top of the outcropping. When you're in place, Zo'rok and Dru'ak will lure it out so you can drop down on it. You hand your javelins to Dru'ak, he always was a lousy shot, but it doesn't take much accuracy to be a distraction.

You stealthily pick your way round the Bloatfrog, too distracted by its pain to notice as you scale the rocky face behind it. Perched at the top, you gesture to Zo'rok and Dru'ak. A few seconds later they start, the Bloatfrog giving a warning croak as it spots them, only to be met with a hail of stones and javelins.

Dru'ak's throwing isn't even all that bad, and while the Bloatfrog's tough hide prevents the barrage from doing any real damage, it does succeed in doing what you planned. With an enraged croak, the creature lurches from its cover, kicking up dust and picking up impressive speed despite its injured leg dragging behind it. For a moment you fear you'll miss the drop, but just as it leaves its cover, a slingbullet slams square into the beast's eye, making it stumble.

You seize your opportunity, leaping down from the rockface with a warcry, axe overhead. The Bloatfrog never even has a chance to look up before your axe slams into its neck, dropping it to the ground, making feeble noises before you wrench the axe free, putting it out of its misery.

Dru'ak and Zo'rok wander over, admiring the kill.

“If only all hunts went that smoothly,” Zo'rok cackles, as Dru'ak checks over the beast.

“So we've got food, we've got weapons, we've got a trophy, what now?” Dru'ak asks.

>At this point I expect the chieftain to try raining on our parade, and demand our loot for himself. Don't back down, ask by what right he claims that? It is YOUR loot and YOUR trophies. YOU earned it via a daring raid against an enemy of the clan. Orcs are entitled to the spoils of their victories.

It's time, no more waiting. Chieftain Zo'ruz and his inner circle of weaklings have ruled the clan for too long. You bring your kill back to the entrance to the tomb, getting Zo'rok and Dru'ak to prepare some meat while you go down to gather up your supplies.

You find a long, sturdy spear amongst your weapons to skewer the Horror's head on, which hasn't grown any less foul-smelling in death, though it has barely rotted, looks like even the insects don't want to touch it.

Carrying your loot and trophy up the ladder is challenging, and you are thankful you brought ropes with you. Soon you stand outside the tomb, trophy on a spear, bag of weapons and loot, and your kill all prepared.

You settle down for one last meal before you put your plan into action, enjoying the juicy bloatfrog meat.

“We go back there, and we call the cheiftain out, there's no way he can ignore my challenge with all this.”

“Provided one of his asskissers doesn't try to off you first,” Zo'rok replies, earning a nod from Dru'ak.

>Send someone ahead to the shaman to see if you can get his support beforehand? (if so, who?)

>>
>>36246247

I think either send Zo'rok to ask the shaman to come over to us, so we can talk to him ourselves first, and walk into the village with him by our side.
But I am tempted to just walk in all secure like. The shaman is smart, he will figure it out.

Actually, instead of sneaking over, just have him go in like a minute before us and just get the shaman to come quick so he is there early

So looks like you're sending Zo'rok to get the Shaman's support, and wearing the crown.

“Zo'rok, if we're going to win over the clan, we'll need Ku'zag's support. Go make sure he's ready to stand with us when we make our move.”

Zo'rok nods, “don't worry, I'll get that old vulture on our side.”

With that, he gives a grin and sets off ahead of you back towards the clan.

You reach into your sack of loot, retrieving the crown, made of shiny black stones, held together with steel and ivory. It cuts an impressive figure, no doubt about it, and it will only strengthen your claim. You place it on your head, feeling a shiver run down your spine as the world turns dull and grey. Rubbing your eyes, you stumble, barely regaining your balance before you fall. You hear a faraway noise, like someone calling to you from a great distance. Looking up, you see Dru'ak before you, his mouth moving but no sound coming out. You blink, your head throbbing, and just as the pain seems to reach unbearable levels, it fades. Colour and sound return, and you let out a ragged breath.

“Are you alright, Ur'shal?” Dru'ak asks, frowning.

“You went all pale, you sure you should be wearing that thing? Could be bad magic.”

You feel fine now though, not even any lingering discomfort, if anything, you feel better than ever.

You brush off Dru'ak's concerns and start towards the camp, right now you need strength, and the crown grants you that.

The sun is high in the sky when you arrive, and Orcs come out to greet you before you even hit the camp, first surprised to see you alive, then curious to see what you've brought. By the time you make it to the edge of the camp, you've amassed quite a crowd, most of the clan watching. The energy is palpable, all of them know something is coming, though you're not sure all of them think it's something good.

You see Zo'rok at the back of the crowd, the shaman Ku'zag leaning on his staff next to him. Everything is in place. All of the cheiftain's lackeys are here too. Gro'gul, Juk'ruk, Or'zuk and Ur'kaz, muttering amongst themselves, Gro'gul sending one of the nearby orcs to fetch the cheiftain.

You take a moment to admire all four of the inner circle's women out in the open for once, not hidden away in the tents of Zo'ruz's weakling followers to wither in the shade propping up the egos of their cowardly owners. When you're cheiftain, you'll see them put to better use.

The cheiftain finally arrives on the scene, flanked by the final two of your clan's six women, the rest butchered by your enemies when your clan was driven into the waste. The cheiftain looks as sour as ever, staring at you with his usual sullen expression. It's hard to believe, looking at that broken creature, that it was once a great warrior, like Ku'zag told you, but you'll find out the truth for yourself soon enough.

It looks like he isn't planning to make the first move here, so the stage is yours. How do you wish to present your glorious achievements to the clan?

You plant the haft of the spear in the dust, the head of the boneripper leering on the tip. You give Ku'zag nod, the shaman watching, expressionless.

“This is the fell beast of the Abyss which hunted our people, killing them and stealing ther bones to spawn more of its filthy kind. With sacred token from the shaman, and with our own strength and fury, we went into the beast's lair, put its young to the torch, and ended its misbegotten life.”

Mutters start to spread amongst the gathered crowd. You see a flicker of fear over the faces of some of Zo'ruz's followers, they know what's coming, but the cheiftain's miserable mask doesn't slip for a second.

You raise your greataxe high as you continue.

“We fought it in an ancient tomb of our people, a tomb filled with weapons of steel, and treasures of our lost kings, and with this axe I caved in the beast's skull.”

The clan is hanging on your every word as you continue, finally turning your attention to the cheiftain.

“It was I, Ur'shal, and my brothers Zo'rok and Dru'ak who killed the beast and brought treasures to our clan, while the cheiftain and his greatest warriors cowered in their tents, waiting to die. With this axe that cleaved open the skull of the Boneripper, I will cleave open the cheiftain's skull and take my rightful place as new cheiftain of the Stonetusk Clan. I will lead our clan to glory and riches, and those who oppose me will end their coward lives with their heads on pikes, alongside our former cheiftain.”

You stare at the cheiftain, who has remained still and unmoved this whole time, murmers and muttering spreading through the crowd, all eyes are on him now.

“I challenge you, Zo'ruz, chieftain of the Stonetusk Clan. You have shamed the clan and the gods with cowardice, and now you will answer for it!”

It is not the cheiftain who steps forwards though, but Gro'gul, ever ready to kiss the cheiftain's ass.

“This is all big talk, Ur'shal, but you are little more than a whelp, not worthy to lead a clan. Who's word have we that you did not come across this beast already dead and dream up the whole thing. Your two “brothers” who's word means no more than yours? These weapons you could have just as easily found lying in a ditch somewhere as in an ancient tomb?” Gro'gul gives a throaty laugh, puffed up and pacing.

“I name you unworthy to challenge the cheiftain, only worthy to be whipped like a slave and cast into the wastes to die.”

Dru'ak growls next to you, grip on his flail tightening.

>Gro'gul should die for his insult, and you will see to it personally if he insists on interfering.

You growl, handing the spear with your trophy on it to Dru'ak as you step forwards, squaring up to Gro'gul. As you step forwards, you hear the shaman speak up over the excited crowd.

“Found it in a ditch? Feh. I know you lack interest in the history of our people beyond your own stories, Gro'gul, but I doubt Ur'shal found the axe of the Orc King Kuz'hag in a ditch. That is the axe that split the skull of the Great Earth Dragon Irixilis, that held the Thornhollow Pass against the Elven warriors of Eskaine for four days until it was red with fae blood. Ur'shal has found a great treasure of our people, and for that he should be honoured!”

A hush falls over the crowd for a few moments, before the muttering starts again in earnest. The shaman's speech seems to have taken much of the wind out of Gro'gul's sails. He looks back to the cheiftain for support, and is met with a thin, humourless smile.

“Have you the honour to fight for your cheiftain, even against such a formidable weapon, Gro'gul?” the cheiftain asks, speaking for the first time since he arrived.

You see sweat glistening on Gro'gul's brow as he swings back to face you, grinding his teeth, hefting his hammer, a massive thing of steel and carved runes, taken from the dwarves, if you are to believe his tales. He fears you, you can see it in his eyes, but he has no way out now. You grin, readying your axe as he charges for you. Even if he is long past his prime and hasn't been on a hunt in years, as he closes on you, you are reminded of just how large Gro'gul is. This won't be easy, coward or not.

Gro'gul puts all his weight behind his swing, the runed hammer coming for you in a wide horizontal arc. You meet it in kind, roaring as you slam the greataxe against it, feeling the nerves on your arms scream out as the force of the collision sends a jolt through your body. Gro'gul's strength has not faded, despite years of inactivity.

You growl, stepping forwards, trying to force an opening, but he matches you blow for blow with the grim determination of a man facing death. Neither one of you has managed to land a solid hit yet, but you know, and you're sure the chieftain knows, that if you get too exhausted here, you have already lost.

You snarl, you will not be denied your prize before you even get to face the chieftain himself. As Gro'gul forces you back a step with a mighty swing you see your chance, he steps forwards, hoping to press his advantage, and overextends himself. Too close to bring your heavy weapons to bear, you improvise, driving your skull into his surprised face. Gro'gul falls to the ground, coughing up blood and teeth, a tusk falling to the dust. He starts to pick himself up, clutching his hammer, and you knock the hammer from his grip with your axe, taking two fingers with it as he howls in pain and rage.

He clutches the bleeding stumps where the last two fingers of his right hand once were, glaring up at you. Gro'gul is at your mercy, but how merciful do you feel?

None of the chieftain's inner circle hunt. They are all old warriors from before the clan was driven into the wastes. Changes to make
1. Old warriors go back to hunting and/or full time teaching the younger ones.
2. Loot belongs to the orcs that claimed it, be it food, slaves, or equipment. A war party can divvy up loot between its members based on contribution, and excess loot might be gifted or traded with others in the tribe as needed or if they feel like honoring their elders. But no more confiscating of the best by those of "rank".
In fact, if they have any weapons we particularly remember them stealing from another clansmate, they are to return those.
3. The clan's women choose their own mates. Only the women of the lesser races (humans, elves, etc) are to be taken as slaves. (not sure what to do about orc females from clans we conquer via force... i guess situational)

3.You don't want to play an Orc then.
>>
>>36248893
The clan grows through stability. We kill those who challenge and disrespect us, we solidify our rule and stop upstarts like us from shaking shit up and causing internal conflict. We don't gain women by sparing our enemies, we don't lose out on loot by letting those who stand against us live. We absorb those who surrender and destroy those that resist.

Honour doesn't mean flowers and peacemaking, honour is conviction and honesty. Being limp-wristed and not following through on our threat to kill them is an awful idea.

>3.You don't want to play an Orc then.
I explicitly declared all humand and elf females are to be taken as breeding slaves. And MAYBE also orc females from other clans.
its just doesn't sit right with me that the female members of OUR clan are treated the same as a human slave

I'd make it so that if the Women wish they can choose to become warriors or smiths or whatever, and if they do and perform well at it, they get full rights according to those positions and that the slaves can earn places as members of the tribe if they excel at it.
>>36249071
>We absorb those who surrender and destroy those that resist.
That's retarded. A clan's champion will fight us for the honor of his clan, however if defeated he should be given the option to join us. We should not immediately kill him simply because he resisted us initially.
>>
>>36249103
He is not a orc
>>
>>36249103
Future loot, and first pick is decided in the party that got the loot.

I view it as a tribal system where the heads gets first pick on the females, and they don't seem to mind much(you have to remember orcs value the strong above all)
>>
>>36249071
>The clan grows through stability. We kill those who challenge and disrespect us, we solidify our rule and stop upstarts like us from shaking shit up and causing internal conflict. We don't gain women by sparing our enemies, we don't lose out on loot by letting those who stand against us live. We absorb those who surrender and destroy those that resist.
There is also the fact that the old orcs have numbered days and as males, don't contribute to our future population.
We DESPERATELY need to perform raids to acquire more females.

So...
1. Even the lowly beasts dare steal from us. We exterminate the local predators, who slay a plump juicy prey animal every day or two and deny that food to the tribe. This would be the first step in truly conquering these lands. we will not leave them for greener pastures, we will tame this land and ALSO conquer and expand to greener pastures.
2. We must unite all the orc clans under one banner.
3. We resume raiding and pillaging the lesser races
4. We desperately need females. This will be acquired mostly via 2 and 3. Hopefully more 2 than 3 because half orcs are weaker than pure orcs.
>>
>>36249078
Did Ghingis kahn spare those who challenged and insulted him? Did Conan spare every old asshole he fought? you can be both level headed and still not show weakness
>>
>>36249181

>I'd make it so that if the Women wish they can choose to become warriors or smiths or whatever, and if they do and perform well at it, they get full rights according to those positions and that the slaves can earn places as members of the tribe if they excel at it.
I didn't think there was anything mutually exclusive about choosing who their mate is and actually having a trade.
I was assuming they already could be warriors or smiths. although, I guess warriors is a bad idea at this moment in time with only 6 females.

>>36249167
How "happy" were we to give our best loot the chief instead of keeping it ourselves?
Also, if someone is the best, he doesn't need to steal the loot of others, he would be bringing in his own loot.
>>
“May the gods see only your old glories, and not the weakling you became,” you snarl, lifting your axe.

Gro'gul tries to cry out some final words, seeking mercy, but you give him none. He disrespected you and refused your challenge to the chieftain, to spare him now would show weakness you cannot afford. You bring the axe down, splitting his skull in two. The chieftain's three other warriors recoil as you wrench the axe free from the gore that was one his skull, while Gro'gul's former woman, Sho'ka, watches you with a catlike smile.

“Do any more amongst you question my right to challenge?” you roar, hefting the bloody axe high.

Zo'ruz sighs, his apathetic expression slipping for the first time in all the years you have known him. The cheiftain draws his curved blade.

“Do you see yourself as a great warrior, to lead our people back to glory?” he asks, his face twisting into a snarl.

“I fought with the last great Orc King. I stood by his side when we went to war with the Humans. I bathed my sword in the blood of man, I brought glory to his horde.”

He looks across the assembled crowd, fury in his eyes.

“I was there when the Elves, Dwarves and Giants joined the Humans and marched against us. Even as we were beaten back I stood strong for my King and Clan. We took slaves and riches and pretended that our glory would last forever.”

His eyes fix on you, as he steps forwards.

“I was there when the Goblins and Sluagh turned against us, when we made our last stand against our enemies. When our great King stepped forward to face down the Orcslayer Dannon in glorious battle, I was there to watch her strike his head from his shoulders as if he were nothing, drive our people into the wastes and seal us away like animals.”

He is only a few steps from you now, his face dropping back into its mask of apathy.

“The Orcish people died that day, all your lust for glory will do is send us to our graves a few years sooner.”

The Great Waste is exactly what the name suggests, a vast rocky badland where the most that will grow is a few tough, barely-edible tubers and hardy weeds, and most of that stuff is at best just edible, and at worse highly poisonous.

I would rather die with honour as a warrior, not cowering in the dust like a whimpering beast which has lost the will to fight,” you snarl, circling Zo'ruz, axe ready.

“Fool,” he sneers, lashing out with his blade.

You dodge the swipe, and he goes back to circling you, expression unreadable.

You push forwards, hoping to catch him off balance, but he knocks your axe aside with the flat of his blade, striking you in the arm on the backswing. Your chain shirt absorbs most of the force, but still the blow rattles you. You step back, trying to regain your balance, but the chieftain follows, lashing out with strike after strike, it being all you can do to deflect them.

Your head starts to ache again, colour leeching from your vision as the crown growing warm on your brow.

He strikes out at you, but he wasn't prepared for the fury of your assault, and has no time to put strength behind his blow, doing little more than grazing your thigh. Your axe hacks into the meat of his left arm, provoking a howl of pain as he backs away, desperately trying to put distance between you, his arm hanging limp at his side.

You growl, but all you hear is the same faraway voice in your ears, your vision starting to fray at the edges, you feel a trickle of blood run down from your nostril.

You feel your heart hammering in your chest as the distant voice gets clearer, the heat in your veins boils over, threatening to boil you in your skin.

You grit your teeth, focusing on the world around you, the axe in your hands, the dust beneath your feet, the chieftain as he raises his sword to strike out at you.

The voice fades, and colour returns. You lash out, catching Zo'ruz in the chest with the axe, lodging itself in his side. The former chieftain grunts in surprise, coughing up a great gob of blood. He stares you in the eyes as you see the light fading from them.

He mutters something as his head slumps forwards, too quiet and choked on blood to hear. It almost sounded like he thanked you.

You pull the axe loose, Zo'ruz's corpse crashing to the ground. You raise your bloody axe above your head, giving a triumpant roar, one echoed by your clan.

You are Ur'shal, Chieftain of the Stonetusk Clan. You have won the right to lead by combat, and the Clan's glory or dishonour will be on your shoulders.

Now though, there are questions that must be answered by the new chieftain.

You see them, the former chieftain's three remaining warriors. They stayed quiet throughout the fight, perhaps hoping to be forgotten, but you have not forgotten them.

What say you, Chieftain? How will you deal with those who followed the former Chieftain and reveled in the gifts he gave?

>>
>>36250537

Juk'ruk, Or'zuk and Ur'kaz shrink back as you turn your gaze on them.

“You served the old chieftain as he made our clan weak, but I will give you the chance to serve the clan and its new chieftain, and make us strong again.”

You see their shoulders sag with relief, realising that they will not suffer Gro'gul's fate, but you are not finished yet.

You step forwards, looming over them.

“You will hunt and fight like the rest of the tribe, and perhaps in time you will win back old glory. You will not take mates, you will be stripped of your treasures, and you will hold nothing you did not earn until you prove yourself worthy once more. You will make the clan strong, or you will be exiled, the choice is yours.”

You think you have been most merciful, but still the three look torn to give up their ill-gotten wealth.

Or'zuk speaks first, the grizzled, one-eared old orc lowers his head, but keeps his eyes locked on yours. “As you say, chieftain, I will earn my place in your clan.”

There is a long pause before Juk'ruk also reacts, fists clenched and teeth gritted. “You are most wise and honourable, chieftain, I will give up my mate and treasures for the clan, until I can win them back once more.”

Ur'zak though snarls. “I earned my glory on the battlefield, I have nothing to prove to you, I will not hunt like some nameless whelp.” He turns and pushes through the crowd, turning to bark for his mate, Ul'kaza to follow, snarling as she stands her ground. For a moment you think he might try to take her with him by force, but seeing the press of Orcs on all sides, he obviously thinks better of it, storming out into the wastes alone.

Zo'rok steps up next to you.

“Looks like he took his weapons and treasures with him, want me to go take them?” Zo'rok whispers to you with a grin, watching Ur'zak leave.

“I gave him his chance, take them from his corpse and leave him to the scavengers,” you snarl, and Zo'rok gives a cackle, “Of course Ur, or should that be Chieftain now?”

When you turn, Zo'rok is already gone, stalking off after his prey.

You have one more thing to worry about before you settle in to your new position however. The matter of the Clan's few women.

There are only six of them, and forty males, including yourself. While you as the Chieftain are more than entitled to take multiple women for yourself, it is also true that one of the things that made Zo'ruz's rule most unpopular was stealing away all the women, cheating your Clanmates of a chance to earn them with acts of glory and prowess.

So how will you divide up your Clan's women?

>How many will you take for yourself?
>Will you give any to other members of the Clan, if so, how many and to whom?
>What will you do with any you do not give to members of your Clan as mates?

Formerly Gul'gor's woman. Impressively tall and with a lithe, athletic build. She reminds you somewhat of a Crag Lion, all sinuous grace and predatory poise, you know she had aspirations of being a warrior herself, though Gul'gor and the chieftain denied her the right to hunt.

>Ul'kaza
Formerly Ur'zak's woman. Ul'kaza is a bit on the smaller side for an Orc woman, but strong none-the-less, and blessed with an impressive pair of tusks and other, equally impressive assets to match. She doesn't seem to have much of an Orc's fire about her however, more content to be a mate than make war.

>Y'zoa
Formerly Or'zuk's woman. Y'zoa is by far the most powerfully built of the Orcish women, as tall as Sho'ka and with more muscle, though she maintains a pleasing-enough feminine shape despite her obvious power. You know that Or'zuk had her “helping him” make weapons of bone and stone for the clan, an activity he barely ever joined in with.

>Zik'yi
Jak'rak's former woman. Zik'yi is smaller than some of the women, but has fire in her eyes which was not snuffed out despite Jak'rak's aggressive treatment of her, which she has the scars to remember.

>A'ska
One of the old chieftain's former women. A'ska is a few years older than the others, and has born a couple of healthy sons over her years. This has taken its toll slightly on her, physically, but she has a body that would make the fertility goddess Y'zagya Zoka proud.

>K'zala
The smallest of the females, K'zala is wiry but still strong. There is a suspicion amongst the tribe that she may have the blood of other races in her, maybe human or elf, though such a thing has never been proven, and probably never can. She is very quiet though, both in word and deed.

>Sho'ka
Formerly Gul'gor's woman. Impressively tall and with a lithe, athletic build. She reminds you somewhat of a Crag Lion, all sinuous grace and predatory poise, you know she had aspirations of being a warrior herself, though Gul'gor and the chieftain denied her the right to hunt.

Also teach her to hunt.

Should've mentioned, if you wish to vote for Ur'shal's woman, do so now.

Well now, it seems K'zala is the winner, with Sho'ka in a close second.

So my last question is, before I start writing my post...

If you pick K'zala, and Sho'ka makes it obvious that she wants you too, as indeed she has been since before Gro'gul was dead, will you take both?

You have the bodies of Gro'gul and Zo'ruz dragged away and stripped of their wealth. You will have time to look through it all in the morning, this is a time for celebrations.

“Tomorrow we regain our glory, tomorrow we star to make the Stonetusk Clan one which will strike fear into the hearts of its enemies, but tonight we celebrate, the days of the weakling chieftain are over, this is a new age for our Clan!” you roar, to the cheers of your people.

The Bloatfrog will make a good meal for the clan this night, soon after it is prepared and roasting over the flame, Zo'rok reappears, a full sack slung over his shoulder.

“I'll leave this in my tent, we can go through it all in the morning,” he whispers to you, grinning. “Ur'kaz is going through the bellies of a dozen stingworms by now.”

You nod, telling Zo'rok to hurry back and choose a woman, as you sit on a rock by the fire in the prime place of the chieftain. Your clan clusters around you, laughing and feasting, many asking for you tell them more of your battle with the Boneripper, and you indulge them, with Dru'ak's occasional addition, telling the story of your glorious battle to the death in the old tomb.

The women cluster nearby too, obviously unsure of their place in this new Clan, and when you have finished retelling the story of your fight, you figure it's time to put that issue to rest.

You let your gaze sweep across the clan's six women. They are all fine women in their own ways, but you can't simply take them all for yourself, or you'd be no different from that fool Zo'ruz. You ponder long and hard, taking in all you can, and you are clearly not the only one. In the end though, you make your decision.

“As chieftain, it is my right to choose a mate, and to grant mates to those whom I deem to have performed feats worthy of such a prize.”

You scratch your chin, your mouth widening into a grin. “K'zala,” you call, the small orc woman looking up at you, surprise evident on her features.

“Your chieftain desires you for his mate. Have you objections?”

K'zala shows a small smile on her unusually delicate features, her every action as understated as you had always noticed. “I would be honoured, my Chieftain,” she bows walking across to sit beside you, nestling herself up against your side as you lay an arm across her shoulder.

“As for my two clanmates who stood alongside me in my battle with the Boneripper, they have each earned a mate of their own, I think, what say you, Zo'rok, Dru'ak?”

That earns you a grin from both of them, even the usually stoic Dru'ak.

“For the rest of you, I give you freedom to choose a mate for yourselves. Choose wisely, for the future of our clan rests upon you bearing strong children to carry on our name.”

The party picks up further after that, when A'ska lets it slip that the chieftain had two barrels of dwarven brandy, unopened spoils of war from twenty years ago. This seems as good a time to crack them open as any to you, and soon the Clan rings out with warsongs and laughter. Orcs wrestle and compete, trying to impress the remaining women, and while there are a few brawls, spirits are too high for the brawlers to do any more than laugh it off when they're done beating each other bloody.

Hey OP, I have a question: Do orcs and humans share a common language? Or will we have to learn to speak the human tongue or find someone who can if we have to speak to people other than orcs?
>>
>>36253517
You spy Dru'ak with A'ska, the curvacious orc woman all over him, while Dru'ak seems content to simply drink his whiskey and give the occasional response, but you've known him long enough to know him happy, despite his stoic exterior.

Zo'rok for his part seems to have picked the mighty Y'zoa for his mate. He always did have a taste for her type, you remember him getting in trouble more than once with Or'zuk when he got caught leering at her. Seems he's gotten his wish now, as you see the pair cheering on a brawl that's started up near one of the brandy barrels.

K'zala has been quiet overall, though she seems content enough nestled up by your side, and after years of being kept at arms length from the women by Zo'ruz and his inner circle, you can remember few more pleasant feelings than that of her warm body pressed up against you.

>Stay here and try to make conversation with your new mate
>Go speak to Zo'rok and his new mate
>Go speak to Dru'ak and his new mate
>Speak to someone else (who?)

>Write-in what you wish to speak to any of these choices about.

Relax, Sho'ka is coming.

>>36253524
The human and orc tongue shares many similarities. You could understand humans more or less, and they you. You could get Ku'zag the shaman to teach you the human tongue, if you wish to be more fluent however.
