> SOMEWHAT NOT PREVIOULSY ON MAGICAL GREEN LANTERN: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Green%20Lantern

> AND POSSIBLY TAKING PLACE IN THE STRANGE TIMELINE THAT IS MAGICAL GREEN LANTERN SOMEWHERE BEFORE THE ORANGE LANTERN AND SOMEWHERE AFTER SINESTRO AND ALL THAT.

“Hello BBC Radio News, this is Mitchell Weatherby reporting to you live from downtown London where it appears that a downtown apartment complex is, in fact, on fire!” The radio news man speaks in front of a microphone, standing with a group of sound technicians as behind him, the fire rages through the once-sleepy apartments. “Most of the inhabitants appear to have been evacuated just in time! However, I am getting reports from firefighters and Home Guard on the scene that there is still one or two people trapped inside! Efforts to rescue them have been fruitless and- Oh the humanity! There they are on the rooftop!”

“Help us!” A woman and her young child stand atop the flat roof, the fire spewing from the entrance behind them. They are covered in soot, and their clothes are heavily scorched, but that does not stop them from crying for help. “Please!”

“Hey, what’s that!?” Fingers are pointed to the sky as a great Green light flies down.

“It’s a bird!”

“It’s a plane!” The shouter quickly runs away. “Run! It’s the Nazis again!” Others start turning away to run.

“No!” A more astute viewer recognizes you. “It’s the Green Lantern!”

You are Lumière Berger, Green Lantern of Sector 2814.

Alright, you got a woman in peril and her young child as well. You can’t choke out the fire, Red Tornado’s busy back in New York, and you obviously can’t just lift the building out.

How do you solve this?

> CRITICAL FAILURE: WILL

A floating green carpet forms for the two off the roof. “Go!” you yell. “Quickly!” You feel your will being sapped by something, something unknown. Oh no, not this again. Not now! At least hold for them! “Hurry!”

The two hesitate, then the fire erupts, knocking the door down behind them. They quickly step off the roof.

And phase right through your carpet.

Oh baise.

They scream, falling to their doom. No, no, no, no!

“Saved your life!” A green glowing baseball glove catches them safely.

Oh.

The crowd cheers loudly as the other Green Lantern of Sector 2814, the cowtitted, blonde-haired, and much more obnoxious Clarissa Savage lowers them down to the ground safe and sound. You land next to her. You don’t want to glare at her, nor do you want to scold her, or even put her on the spot. She did save two people.

Unlike you, ugh.

“Amazing!” says Weatherby. “Another successful rescue by the Blonde Lantern of Earth!” He holds the microphone out to a grinning Clarissa. “Tell us girl, what’s your secret?”

“Spinach, lots of it,” says Clarissa with a smirk. The two chuckle and laugh at that. You cross your arms, sighing. She looks over at you. “Hey, what’s got you down?”

Well this quest is sort of supposed to be inspired by magical girls or something right? Lumi got the power to help others at the price of it randomly failing and making her doubt herself so it gets worse. It's not magical girls without suffering.
>>
> “Nothing.”

You sigh, crossing your arms. “It is nothing.”

“So, Green Lantern and Blonde Lantern, you two have been the protectors of the innocent for quite some time now, I bet it must be a lonely job having to keep the peace!” says Mitchell Weatherby. It’s not that lonely, you do have Rouge to look forward to, as well as Steel, the Justice Society, and you do hear Monsieur Nodell is supposed to come by for leave one of these days, and Monsieur Dickles and Monsieur Buckle as well they-

“Well~…” Clarissa wraps her arm around you, pulling you close. Oh here we go. “We have each other, I think that’s all we need, Weatherby!”

“Oooh,” Weatherby blinks, surprised. “I’ll keep that in mind, girls.” Wait, did she simply something? I think something flew over your head. “Well, we shouldn’t keep you too long.”

“That’s right!” says Clarissa. “Justice waits for no one, come on!” She hugs you tight, then blasts off into the sky, with you in tow.

-

-

“LOOK AT YOU, YA LITTLE POOZER, I COULD RUN SO MANY RINGS AROUND YOU THEY’D BE CALLING ME SATURN!” Kilowog – or rather his projection that you created – puts you on the fullest blast since the Blitzkrieg. “I CAN’T BELIEVE ABIN SUR LEFT HIS RING TO YOU, YOU’RE SO BRITTLE I COULD MAKE POWDER OUT OF YOU!”

You struggle, trying to push yourself up with the weight of all of your books on your back. Of course, you couldn’t do this without turning a few heads in your apartment, which is why you decided to go somewhere a bit more secluded.

Clara tilts her head. She crosses her legs, sitting on the lip of a crater as she chews on a sandwich. “Is the moon really a good place to train your body, sweetcheeks?”

> “SHUT UP! I’M GETTING STRONGER!”

“I am getting stronger you little American poozer!” You faceplant into the moon dust, leaving a neat imprint of your face and splattering the grey dust all over you.

Clarissa giggles. “You’re turning into Kilowog!” Oh, you’d hate to turn into that pigfaced monster. He’s nice, bless his heart, but oh God he is ugly. “Come on, this is boring!” She stands up and hops over next to you.

You push up, sweat running down your cheeks. “What do you propose then…” you growl.

She scratches her chin, looking around. “Huh…” What is she looking at? There’s nothing but moonrocks, dust, and stars! She’s clueless. “Aha! I got an idea!” She snaps her finger, then pushes all your books off of you.

“Hey!” You sit up, glaring. “What are you-“ She tapes your mouth shut. How rude!

She creates a chair, a camera, and even turns her regular outfit into something Hugo Boss would wear. She sits down, and even projects herself a smoking cigarette and a little beret. “Alright, little miss, let us do some work, ja?” What is with that accent she’s affecting. This is stupid, she’s stupid.

You narrow your eyes. “Pardon?”

“First off, your outfit!” She motions to your clothes. It’s your standard blouse, breastplate, miniskirt, gloves, and stockings. Nothing too big. “It’s boring. Make something up.”

Yellow would probably be the opposite, as long as it'd look scary you could probably do whatever.

Red would probably get better the more absolutely livid you are, which sounds a bit like a Hulk ring. Hulk isn't that strong, gets beat up, gets mad as a result, gets stronger, repeat until strong enough to beat up subject.

Fuck if I know anything else about the other rings, other than blue being kind of like green but only active when there's a green ring nearby.

They apparently also make Agent Orange lucid in bursts. Thank you DC Wiki.

Yellow might be more or less the same, but maybe with bonuses based on how much you can intimidate your target (regardless of outward appearance) and possibly on how well its wielder can direct their fears (kinda unclear, but mentioned in some comics).

Dunno how red plays out of its the TAS iteration.

Blue might work on how well you inspire others.

Indigo is also kinda unclear given the nature of the corps, but being able to understand how others feel and being able to feel what others feel may lend bonuses to channeling other Corps. Light sources.

Perhaps yellow is basically two form rolls:

One for how coherent it is (like whether it resembles what it is intended to resembled), and another for how scary it is (an incoherent form could still be scary via uncanny valley or looking like a monster from the Thing).

A bad scary roll doesn't cancel out a good form roll because the form is scary on its own and the scary roll would add extra things to that to make it scarier.

So for example, let's say Yellow Lumi projected Hitler. A good form roll means it looks like Adolf Hitler, a bad roll means it doesn't look like him by degrees. A good scary roll means the construct has glowing eyes, demonic features, and other details that increase its power. A bad scary roll simply means it looks like Adolf Hitler and nothing else is added.

>>36290242
There is the possibility for that. A nat 1 on the form but a roll of say 18 on the scary would do that.

However, a bad roll for scary would shift the success or failure onto what you projected and how coherent it is. So if you project Adolf Hitler and rolled a nat 1 scary, you better fucking hope the guy you're fighting is scared of a generic Adolf Hitler.

Fail both coherency and scary and you just produce a blob of impotence.
>>
>>36290199
And not a single fleur-de-lis anywhere on the uniform? For shame.
>>
>>36290203
Perhaps red would have two rolls?

Control ( make constructs and maintain control of self), and Rage.

High control = able to make refined constructs and be coherent. High Rage rolls mean that you can add extra effectiveness to constructs and/or attacks, but pooling too much rage means that you can lose control and start barfing napalm.

> “You make something up!”

You harrumph, crossing your arms and turning away. “Idiote! You make something up! I will not be privy to an impromptu beauty pageant on the moon!”

Wow, that really sounds stupid when you say it like that.

Clarissa curls her lips. “Tut tut, mon ami-“

“That’s not even the correct way of saying it!” you scream. “You’re using the masculine, not the feminine-“ She again duct tapes your mouth shut.

“Right…” Clarissa pulls up her ring, then zaps you. Your breastplate falls off. “Right, let’s get rid of that for now.” Your blouse disappears, leaving in only your bra. You quickly cover yourself, blushing.

“Clarissa!” you scream, embarrassed.

“What? We’re on the moon!” she says. She zaps your skirt, tearing it off as well. “That can go too, I think we have a good base with the gloves and the stockings…”

“STOP TEARING MY CLOTHES OFF!” In space, they can actually hear you scream.

She snaps her finger, undaunted. Soon enough, green energy forms around you, then bursts into a fresh new outfit for you. It’s much more fancier, much more musketeer like, like D’Artagnan and Les Trois Mousquetaires! Black shorts, a green blouse with poofy shoulders, and then the real centerpiece, a flowing green tabard with black trim, and the Green Lantern emblem over the center. Topped off with your black stockings with green stripes and your long black gloves, and your domino mask, you look positively…

Ridiculous.

“Wait.” Clarissa snaps her finger. Immediately a black beret falls onto your head, and in it is a white feather as well. “There we go!”

A projection of a listening device is set up next to you as sit on a rooftop, waiting for something to happen. Very surprisingly, very little crime seems to happen to war-torn Great Britain. On the one hand, all the criminals must be banding together to help each other and the average person out during these times of conflict, but on the other hand, that means you don’t have much to do. The Justice Society in particular advise you not to set foot in mainland Europe for whatever reason, which means for now, you’re stuck with nothing to do.

Strange, a superhero with nothing to save, isn’t that something.

You sigh. Meanwhile, Clarissa’s probably getting all the adoration and all the accolades of being hero back in the States, oh how you loathe her sometimes. And those breasts of hers, she doesn’t deserve those, she barely uses them anyway.

“Um, excuse me.” You blink, then look back to see a girl, your age, with big round glasses framing her face. “Are you the Green Lantern?”

You look down, then back at her. “What makes you say that?” you say.

She holds up a book. “I just wanted to say, I’m a big fan.” She places her hand over her heart, then quickly brushes her messy hair away from her eyes. “My name is Amy Winston, I’m really a big fan of you, Green Lantern! Would you sign this book for me?”

> “Sure!”

Oh finally, a fan, a genuine fan! You take her book happily from her. You read the title, the Principality of Gemworld, interesting. You’ve never read that before. You open it up then take the pen from her. “So, Amy Winston, oui?” She nods happily, smiling. Oh, she’s cute as a button! You sign your name-

You quickly cross out your name and burn it away with your ring, then sign it as Green Lantern.

Phew, that was a close one.

Wait. You say, “So, you a fan of Clarissa, oui?”

She shrugs. “Oh, she’s lovely. But I like you more!” Oh, don’t blush now! “You’re the original, the masked maiden, the emerald lady, the green guardswoman! THE Green Lantern to me!” She happily takes her book back and looks upon your signature. “And I now have your signature!”

You beam, you’re beaming so hard that other Lanterns are looking to you to say calm down! Ooooh!

“Anyway,” says Amy. “I have to go, my mum is probably going to be wondering I am.” She waves you goodbye and then heads down to the fire escape. Ah, so that’s how she got onto the roof. You were wondering that.

But still, a fan! A genuine fan!

Your beacon goes off. “We have reports of a robbery in progress at the General Bank, any available units respond!”

You’re feeling elegant today. You quickly snap your fingers, and away your classic costume goes, instead replaced by an armored dress, with plates of black metal clinking along your skirt, and your breastplate now much bigger and much harder, you’re ready for anything! You blast off to face your evil-doer!

-

-

You land on the street, in front of the London City General Bank. Throngs of screaming people run away, cowering in fright as the gigantic man who robbed this bank walks out, with bags of gold ingot bars slung over his shoulder. He wears a redcoat and black pants, much similar to the British grenadiers, complete with a solid black shako to compliment his fine mustachioed square-jawed face. He looks down at you, smirking. “Well, well…”

Ah, you know him, petty crimes and all that. “The British Grenadier!”

“My archnemesis, Booster Gold!” he screams.

“Who?” you ask.

He blinks, looking at you. “Are you not Booster Gold?” You shake your head. “I’ll get it right one of these days, damn it.” He pulls a beeping grenade from his backpack. “You know, some talk of Hector and Lysander, but none can compare to the British Grenadier!” With a mighty roar, he throws it at you.

You jump back, and it blasts the ground in front of you, sending debris and smoke at you. Nothing to worry about. He advances on you, slowly and surely like well… a grenadier.

You whip out a glowing green mace and a shield and charge at him. You leap up to meet his level!

Then he grabs you out of the air. Oh dear. He lifts you up over his head, then throws you to the ground. You lie there in your little impact crater, shocked.

He smirks, bending down to you. “Aww, little babby had a boo-boo. Well, cheers. I must be over the hills and far away!” He jumps over you and starts running. Oh no he doesn’t! You quickly stand up then project a catapult in his way. He stops, right where you want him. The catapult snaps, then the arm whips forth and smacks him in the face. “Agh, bugger!”

You hop over and then form a big Warhammer. You swing and smack him in the ribs, which does nothing to his inhumanly tough exterior. He slaps it away, punching at you. You dodge, flipping over his arms and ducking his swings gracefully. You swing again, and this time he catches it in his hand, then spins. Rather stupidly, you hang on, allowing him to throw you right into car.

You stand up, then see him pull out another grenade. With another mighty roar, he throws, the grenades starts flying right at you.

You project a giant Pavise shield and a wind-lass crossbow. You plant the shield into the ground and brace. The grenade cracks and booms, like a sparkler across your constructed shield. You kick the shield away, then aim your crossbow quickly.

Oh Lord in Heaven, don’t miss! He moves to pull out another grenade, strafing to the left, ah no clear shot! You need some back up!

A man taps on the British Grenadier’s shoulder. “Huh!?” He turns around to a ghostly green armored knight on horseback, along with a much shorter and portly man on assback.

“Excuse me sir, but I don’t believe it is a chivalric way to attack a woman!” That knight just happens to be the distraction you made, Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.

Sancho says, “He’s fighting for his life, what do you expect?”

“Huh, the nerve!” huffs Don.

You take the time while the Grenadier is confused, then fire a bolt. The bolt catches his sleeve, then pins to him a storefront.

“Oh dear, it appears a woman is getting the better of him,” says Don. “Pathetic!”

You shake your Crossbow, turning into a mighty Morningstar, and rushing at him. He roars as he catches the star in his hand, yelling in pain. The spikes have gone right through his hand, and now blood runs cold down his arm. “Yield, Grenadier!”

“Ugh… of all the people I get beaten by, it has to be a Frenchie,” he growls. He looks down, pulling his bleeding hand away. “Fine, I give.”

-

-

Two Welsh policemen have come to collect the British Grenadier. “Righty, get inside the van now, buyo. You’ll be making all types of new friends in there I reckon, buyo.” They toss him inside the armored van.

The other one says, “And don’t be dropping the soap now, fucker!”

They shut the door tight, then look at you. “Nice work out there, GL. Glad to have you around!”

You sigh. “Monsieur, which Green Lantern of 2814 is better?”

Salaak tilts his head. “By sheer efficiency, usage of power ring, and records, Green Lantern 2814-2 Clarissa Savage.”

Salaak blinks. “Judging by your expression, I should not have said that.”

You grumble. “My ring has failed me a few times in the past few weeks. Not just that, but… I feel like… I don’t feel like I’m good enough to be a Green Lantern, Monsieur.”

“Good.” You blink, in surprise. “Green Lantern Berger, the mantle of Green Lantern is not something to be taken lightly. Your ring chose you not for perfection, but for greatness. You should not hold yourself above others just because your ring is powerful. The role of a policeman is to protect and serve, not to punish and enslave. The ring never makes a mistake in that regard.”

You narrow your eyes. “What about Sinestro then?”

“Even despite Sinestro’s abuse of power, he was still one of our greatest Lanterns. He was one of the voice of reasons the Corps needed, and his loss is noted,” says Salaak. “Green Lantern Berger, if you feel that you are inadequate as a Green Lantern, let me remind you that that is a natural reaction to such a high responsibility. But know that the ring chooses people for a reason. And Abin Sur chose you as his successor, despite other Reserve Lanterns being available.”

You nod. “Alright. Well, thank you, Monsieur.” You hold up a finger. “One more thing, do you think I’m pretty, Monsieur?” You smile, please say yes.

He pauses. “I have no concept of human sexuality, so I cannot answer that truthfully. Perhaps you are ‘pretty’ by human standards, and I am sure you are.” Eh, good enough. “Until next time, Green Lantern.” The projection shuts off.

You sigh. Great.

There’s a knock on the door.

I think it's more of an attitude thing.

Lumi should never think that she's perfect, because then she gets complacent and doesn't aspire to get better. She's still essentially a rookie despite having gone on a lot of crazy adventures. Gotta train and get over her mental issues so she can not fail in a critical manner as often (hint hint).

Ugh, might as well. “Coming!” you yell. And you were enjoying your bath as well. You stand up, then grab a towel and wrap yourself up in it. You steadily creep over to the door and open it up.

“Hi, hi!” Red Tornado stands at the door, happily, with Steel in tow. “I’m back from my adventures in Gotham City!” She holds out your beloved pet to you, whom you take with glee. He barks, happily licking your cheek. “I hope I didn’t catch you at a bad time, GL.” Her helmet clatters as she sizes you up and down.

“Well, no, would you like to come in, Rouge?” She nods, stepping inside. She looks around, her helmet twisting and turning freely. She has to stop it, then readjust it so she can actually see.

“Wow, nice place!” she says. She sits down on your comfy armchair next to all of your books.

Wait.

You look at her as you set Steel down on your bed. “How do you know where I live?”

She twiddles her fingers, giggling nervously. “Ehehe… I didn’t uh… follow you home once.”

You cross your arms. “Fine, you got me.” You nearly say Allison. You managed to figure out her secret identity based on the fact that she kept accidentally calling herself that a few times, and because she keeps making references to a Miss Ma Hunkel. But you decide to let her have her day. You stand by your bedroom then drop your towel, letting her get a glimpse of your naked form. You can hear an audible gasp from beneath her helmet. “Anyway, are you just here to drop off Steel?” you ask as you cycle through certain outfits to wear for the rest of the day.

“Well…” She twiddles her fingers further, nervously, still sizing you up and down. “We could hang out if you want!”

“Eh…” You decide on a simple large green sweater and not much else. It flashes over you, the entire thing reaching down to your thighs and your hands barely coming out of the sleeves. “Well, I’d prefer to relax for today, if you do not mind.”

“Oh, I don’t mind at all!” she says. She stands up quickly. “You just rest your pretty little head. THE RED TORNADO WILL MAKE SOME TEA!” She skips over to the counter and starts pulling things out of your cupboard, pot, teacups, and everything.

You sigh. That’s Red Tornado for you.

You pull your up your ring as you sort through your mail. “Clarissa, call me when you are available. You are free to come by my apartment, oui? Oui.” Welp, with that done you have bills, bills, bills, oooh a letter from Monsieur Nodell! You let Steel ride on your shoulder as you file through everything. “So, Rouge.” She looks over to you as she wets the tea. Her helmet keeps spinning however, and she quickly grabs on, and then rights it. “You ever think of getting a new helmet?”

She shrugs. “Well, my aunt would probably miss this one. Why do you ask?”

“Eh, I just think that helmet might be a detriment to you.”

She sighs. “I suppose, but I like it!” She strikes an action pose. “THE MASKED STORM RIDES!” The kettle boils over, wailing. “Ooh, tea’s on.” She carefully takes the kettle and starts pouring the tea.

You smile, placing your hand on her shoulder. “Tell you what, when I get the time, perhaps I will find a nice space helmet for you.”

We've not really seen Sinestro's training come through, really. It was only after meditating on Mogo that we started to notice a difference. It still doesn't explain Lumi's ultimate inconsistency with the ring. She's human, yes, but she always wants the best out of every construct she creates. There's no concrete reason why her willpower arbitrarily fails her at times, always written away as some unseen cosmic force sapping her focus.

You pat her helmet, clanging it. “Promise.” She happily giggles, handing you your own cup.

The door suddenly flies open, revealing Clarissa with a very messed up uniform, tears everwhere revealing the actually quite attractive body underneath that minidress of hers. “I got your message and I’m here to…” She zeroes in on you, a tinge of pink on her cheeks.

What the heck is she doing. “Clarissa?” She blinks, coughing a bit.

“You should wear more than a sweater,” she says as she walks, then takes the cup of tea out of your hands and immediately slouches down into your armchair. “Anyway! Nice place you got here.”

You nod, narrowing your eyes at her. “I didn’t even tell you where I live-“ She holds up her ring. “Okay, good point.” Steel barks as he hops up onto her lap, and Clarissa responds by petting him furiously, adorable little thing.

Red Tornado bounces happily, cup of tea in her hands. “The gang’s all here! So, what should we do? Should we talk about cute boys? Or maybe we could do each other’s hair!?” She gasps. “OH! Maybe we could talk about…” You both lean, privy to hear what she has to say. “… we could talk about gangsters!”

Clarissa takes a sip of her tea, then her face sours. “Yikes. Uh…” She looks at you. “Got anything fun to do?”

You smirk. Finally, you have some seniority over her! “You can stay the night, Clarissa. No funny business though.”

She nods quickly, pulling her legs up and smiling. “Oh, definitely, no funny business!”

“Yeah, especially since you’re going to be sleeping on the floor,” you say, dropping down on the bed.

She blinks, then her smile slowly fades. “… yeah. Sleep on the floor. Of course.” She steps off the bed, then slides in next to Red Tornado. “Welp, um, good night I suppose.”

“Oui, bonne nuit,” you say. You pull up your nice cozy blanket and turn over, sighing in bliss.

Clarissa sits up. “Are you sure I can’t sleep on your bed?” she whispers.

You roll your eyes. “Make a separate blanket.” She quickly jumps up then lies down next to you, covered in her projection of a blanket. “Now, bonne nuit, Clarissa. We have work ahead of us I am sure,” you say.

“Ah, it probably won’t be anything,” says Clarissa.

And with that, you drift off to sleep.

That's it for tonight's interlude of Green Lantern. Tomorrow we'll have more of it back to the plotline (and possibly with better refined costume mechanics.)

My only regret is that we never got that heart to heart with Clarissa.

Thanks for running, GS!

The d20 is the favored tool of the dice gods.
>>
>>36296850
We might get it screaming in... greed? As orange Lumi.
>>
>>36296807
Nah d20s are fun, like dwarf fortress
>>
>>36296769
thanks for running

Don't worry. Lumi will always fail at the most critical of points.

I kinda miss Shax. She failed at everything but combat, but *man* did she kick all kinds of ass.

I want a ClarissaxOrangeLumi rough-sex fic...

Write it anon because I sure as hell won't.

Lumi jealously covets her other self's orgasm.
>>
>>36297667
What if we put Orange Lumi together with Future Lumi?
>>
>>36297793
greedily wants her more adult figure, and her cigarettes.
>>

Well, I was more thinking what would happen if we end up running into that future us again, since we have the Orange ring. It wouldn't work with a new future us because there can be only one.
