Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

But damn, its fun.

You are Zachary Zelnacki, newly formed Epic. Two months ago, super-powered people rose from the wea-I mean normal. Yeah, normal. You have the ability to control vectors, allowing you to change the speed and direction of any solid object within 15 yards(13 meters). You are also inhumanly tough, able to shrug off small caliber weapons. Finally, and perhaps most important, you are able to absorb powers from dead Epics, if you touch them within ten minutes of death.

You witnessed an Epic fight in the local Middle school, and absorbed the power of steel manipulation and regeneration. You then uploaded the video of the battle and bought a Glock. Finally, you check around town for anything of interest. You see a poster about an Epic in Sacramento, read about a trio of Epics that took over New York City, and learned about LA.

You went on the road, driving to New York. In Colorado, a blockade forces you to pull over. After killing two men, the militia is able to handcuff you. Put into a large execution machine, open to the public. Who were there in large numbers, unluckily for them. Fearing for your your life, your powers fly out of control. Forming a metal shell around yourself, a rampage ensues. Nearly 20% of the town's population later, you reach your car. You fall into a fitful sleep, full of flashing lights, pleas for mercy, spraying blood, and a feeling of overpowering strength.
1/?
>>
You wake up, groggy and feeling hungover from the overuse of your powers. All the joys of being hungover, none of the fun of being drunk. Epics, everybody. Still, the pure power that surged through you last night, was intoxicating. Exhilarating. Enchanting. Addictive.

Now, what to do...
>Loot the town(what are you looking for? Vehicles, firearms, jewelry, etc. Roll a 1d100 for your choice, best of three)
>Go out on the road, on to New York
>Rampage II: Electric Boogaloo
>Burn down the town

Number .5 is the first one, sorry if thats confusing

TOTAL XP: 400

>Base Powers
Power Stealing(I): The ability to absorb the last power a dead Epic used. Can hold three powers at once, absorbed powers have half strength. Must touch dead Epic within ten minutes of their death.
Invulnerability(I): Your cells become much stronger and harder, stopping or hindering physical blows. Smaller rifle shots feel like paintballs and pistols are BB guns to you.
Vector manipulation(I): You are able to change the vector of objects, making a piece of gravel punch through steel. Blows that you are expecting can be diverted. A range of twenty yards.
>Stolen Powers 2/3 slots filled
Steel Manipulation: The ability to move, bend, liquify, and shape various types of steel. Must use existing steel, range of fifty yards.
Regeneration(I): You now heal at a much higher rate, scrapes scabbing over in a minute, deep wounds heal in a day.

>Loot
You climb from the car, stretching out after a night of killing and sleeping in a cramped car. A trail of solidified metal leads to your car, small pieces and droplets that fell from your armor as you run from the town. Looks like a giant, metal snail crawled by, leaving a trail of steel slime. Following the slime trail, you stride into the town.

The town, decorated with festering corpses, has taken on a still air. Any people that might still be in the town disappear as you move, flashes of bloodstained people running through alleys the only sign of humanity. Crows, vultures, and ravens gather in the air and on the roofs, lining up for their buffet. Already, the bodies have been attacked by wild animals, with torn flesh and strips of meat hanging from them. Did you really cause this?

You walk up a small slope, the townspeople flitting away. You wander through the streets, staying away from your killing field. As you walk, the houses slowly grow larger and more ornate. Most houses are the stereotypical suburb, white picket fences encircling perfectly mown grass. The wealthier are larger, with small brick fences and black wrought iron gates.

Kicking down one of the fences, you walk into the manicured front lawn of the wealthy. A large RV is sitting in the driveway, freshly waxed. Green moss grows between the cobblestones in the driveway, accenting the grey stone and vehicle. You open the doors, using a small bit of force and vectoring a rock into the doors. They swing open, shrieking as the thin deadbolt snaps in half.

The house seems deserted, completely silent excluding a faint hum of electricity. Someone left the lights on when they left. Don't they know about global warming? You wander on the hardwood floors, looking for anything of value. A large, marble topped kitchen counter provides a breakfast of oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins, a grapefruit, and a glass of chocolate milk. Just like mom used to make, before she and dad fell into the ocean with the rest of Miami.

You walk back to a stairway, then climb the steps to the second floor. A green carpet covers the floor, fluffy and clean. Opening the doors one at a time, you clear the house. The master bedroom holds little, excluding an envelope full of cash and a jewelry box with gold chains. You shove both objects into a plastic garbage bag. The master closet proves fruitless, as the husband is short, judging by his suits. In a kid's room, which is covered with a fine layer of dust, some PS4 games enter the sack.
You open a door, another kid's room judging from the name in bright paint on the door. Brandon. Wasn't there a guy named Brandon in highschool? No, it was Brendan. Close anyway.

Inside the room, is a small boy. He's laying in bed, holding a laptop. He looks up as you open the door, looking your straight in the eyes. Funny, he isn't scared. Funnier, the laptop he's on doesn't have a battery in it.

"Hi"

>>
"Hi. I take it you're an Epic?" You ask, walking into the room. You sit down on the side of the boy's bed.
The boy's eyes widen, then he looks down at his hands. A spark jumps between his index and pointer fingers, colored blueish white. He shakes his head, tightlipped.
"Its okay if you are. No one here will hurt you if you are an Epic." you say, speaking softly so as not to freak him out.
"My babysitter was one. He isn't here anymore. I didn't tell Mom incase they got scared."
Okay, that was smart of you. So, what were you doing when I came in?"

The boy lifts up his computer, keeping a finger against the place where the battery should be. On screen, is an online game. Poptropica, is what the address says.
"Mom and Dad didn't come home yesterday. I thought they found out, but the cars are still here."

"Okay. Let me get my sleeping bag." The boy hops off the bed, leaving the laptop to go black without a power source. The blond boy opens a white wooden door, then reaches into the closet. He pulls out a large bag, olive green with a thin black sleeping bag and roll hanging against the bottom. He slips the pack on, buckling down straps and basically acting like he's done this a thousand times.

"Brandon, where did you get that bag?"
"Dad made it for me. Everyone has one. Mom's and Dad's are in their room."
"Okay then. Give me a moment to grab those. You go downstairs and pile all the food on the kitchen counter."
"Can I bring Mike and Shelby?"
"Um, yeah. Sure, get Mike and Shelby."

The boy smiles, then runs out of the room. As you head into the master bedroom, you glimpse Brandon carrying two terrariums. You open the closet, which you ignored after seeing the size of the clothing. A closer inspection reveals a false wall on hidden hinges. Slipping a clothes hanger into the crack, you open the hidden compartment. Inside, are a pair of large bags and a pair of ARX160s. You sling both bags onto your wide shoulders, then hang the rifles by their slings on your neck. A pistol fits in a holster on the backpack's hip straps, cold and heavy against your leg.

Leaving the bedroom, you struggle down the stairs. You grab three sets of keys from a key tree, one of them must be to the RV. You click the unlock buttons on all three remotes, the second causing the RV's lights to flash. You open the door, then climb the steps into the mobile home. You set the backpacks and rifles down, leaning against a couch.

Looking you, you are confronted with a prepper's wet dream. Plush couches and a bed are visible as you stare down the vehicle, with what looks like reenforced steel shutters on the windows and a gun rack near the front. A full size fridge sits on it's side, modified to serve as a bench and table. Sleek golden wood trim and cabinets give the vehicle a homey feel, offsetting the rack of loaded rifles and shotguns. Lifting up the cushions on a couch reveals blocks of ammo crates and MREs. One cushion hides a reloading station, complete with powder and brass. Another couch has a large water purification set up, likely using the engine's to purify water. All this and more is in the RV, your wonder broken by a small blond boy bumping into you.

"Sorry Zach." Brandon says, maneuvering around you with a load of food in his arms. He sets it in a couch storage hole, then covers the food with the couch cushion. You follow him out of the RV, ferrying food into it from the house. With all of the food packed up, and a few things Brandon days are important(including his laptop and his pets, Mike the scorpion and Shelby the snake), you start up the engine. It purrs in satisfaction, then you pull out of the drive way.

You pull through the town, the steel blinds shut so "the evil Epic can't get in". Brandon climbs into a bed above the driver's seat, which you later find out doubles as a machine gun nest complete with a hatch that has a 240 degree arc from which a machine gun can fire. You lock the nest's hatch. As you weave through the streets, you talk with Brandon.
"So, what kind of games do you like?"
"Pokemon and Poptropica."
"How long have you have been an Epic?
"Three months. I shocked a bully at school, but he said I punched him. Mom took away my 3DS for a week after that."
"Thats too bad. What powers do you have?
"I can shock stuff, power my laptop, and make some weird blue armor things. What about you?"
"I don't get hurt as easily, and can make things go fast. What's your team in Pokemon?"

Brandon talks a lot on the subject of pokemon, from the time you hitch up your car, to the next state over. The two of you listen to a book over the speakers, about a kid whose dad is a Greek god. It also turns out that Brandon is eight. If you'd guessed, you would have said ten or eleven and on 'roids. Three monthes ago, he went through a large growth spurt much like you.

You pass the time listening to the news, audio books, and talking with Brandon. Apparently, Snowblower(the Epic in Sacramento) changed his name to Snowfall and has been spreading out from the city. A few Epics are battling it out up in Portland for control of the nation's supply of hipsters. You spend five days on the road, eating in diners or making something in the RV's kitchen. Brandon seems to appreciate your cooking, eating a large amount each meal. With a large number of detours to avoid cities, your trip takes longer than normal. When you do pull over(not often, the RV is surprisingly fuel efficient), you stop in small gas stations in the middle of nowhere.

A mandatory detour takes you into the south, skirting around a High Epic's kingdom. You have to follow a highway to Nashville, many of the exit ramps destroyed or barricaded. Reaching the city limits, a long line of 18 wheelers and cars are waiting to get into the city.

You flip on the radio, which Brandon informs you has a mic and on button on the steering wheel so you can talk without taking hands off the wheel. Thats what the green button on the right is for. All this time you thought it was for radar or something. You press the on button, and are greeted by a loud voice.

"YOU ARE ENTERING THE REALM OF THE KLAN, OWNERS OF NASHVILLE AND THE SURROUNDING LANDS. THOSE PASSING THROUGH, MOVE TO THE LEFT. RESIDENCE AND CARGO VEHICLES, TO THE RIGHT."

You signal, then switch lanes to the left. An hour passes, time spent listening to the CB radio. Brandon translates the trucker-speak, easily talking with them. While he does, he tries to sound grown up. He only succeeds in sounding like he's constipated. However, the truckers either don't notice or ignore his voice acting. They say that The Klan is demanding a part of their cargo as tribute for passing through. They also makes random inspections of cars, sending in a team of an Epic or two with normies armed with guns.

You crawl along, reminiscing on your trip down to Mexico. The line is much like the one on the border, taking random cars out for inspection. You reach the toll booth, a tin roofed ramshackle building on the road. A bored teenagers mans it, an ARX160 leaning against the wall like it's owner. He holds a clipboard, reading a script while only occasionally looking up at you.

"Hello, welcome to the city of Nashville. Please list your purpose in our city, name, any weaponry you are carrying, the race of any passengers and any valuables. If you are an Epic or transporting one, please notify your attendant slash attendants. Please pull your vehicle to the side of the road into spot... fifteen." The boy waves you through, and you slowly drive to the fifteenth spot. Another bored, armed person is waiting with a sheaf of paper and a clipboard.

"Hello sir, please list the items my companion explained to you.

The vector manipulation power (which has gotten real popular in the last few years) got so popular because of pic related, Accelerator. It's his main power.

He's used it to do such bullshit things as

>Set up an automatic reflection shield that can immediately tell if something is harmful or not, even light, even if Accelerator can't sense it.
>Analyze and reset a human brain to it's state as it was a week before by changing every individual electrical signal
>Create plasma by forcibly compressing massive amounts of air
>Steal 5 minutes of the earth's rotational energy and use it as an attack
>Model and create whole new laws of physics to control energies and matter that don't actually exist
>Make people explode by reversing the direction of their blood and electrical signals
>Block out annoying music

It's still a good power without math, it just reaches psychotic levels of power if you've got a supercomputer for a brain.

>You guys can kill Brandon later if you want, after the battle
"Brandon, did your dad ever show you how to use one of the machine guns in the gun nest?" You ask, pushing the RV to it's max. Brandon looks at you, wearing a look of disappointment in you. He climbs into the nest, flipping a switch in the side. A cabinet opens, revealing a large gun with two boxes of ammo.

Brandon slides the hatch open, two metal doors sliding into the ceiling. He thunks the gun into a stand, that flipped up when the hatch opened. He starts shooting, gunning at the Epics. You poke a button on the dash, and one of the screens light up. A motion sensitive camera is mounted on the front of the RV, swiveled around to follow the moving Epics.

Two are flying through different means, one with organic wings and the other using some sort of invisible force. Another is hopping between buildings, soaring after each bound. Bright streaks of light are being launched at the flying Epics, tracers from Brandon's gun. They cut between the flying Epics, going first to the winged one, then to the other.

Bloody holes are cut into the winged Epic, the woman's bat-like wings cut into swiss cheese. A trail of red blood falls to earth, marking the woman's passage. A lucky shot goes into her torso, followed by three more rounds. She slips to the side, wings spilling air. As she plummets, she strikes the jumper. The two of them fly off course, crashing into a building. The jumper leaps out of the office building, covered in blood but seemingly fine.

You push the RV to it's limits, breaking 120 mph. You try to vector the vehicle, boosting it to 170 mph. Your camera view has been obscured by a clear wall of blue that forms a dome around Brandon. He keeps firing at the Epics, the tracer rounds streaking into the blue sky. However, the remaining flyer seems to be repelling the bullets and Jumper is going faster than Brandon can track.

"Kid pick your fights better, we're tough but a city with a full military and epic support is tougher." You say, shouting over the wind and booms echoing into the RV from the M240. The blond child ignores you, or is deafened by the high caliber weapon next to his head.

He keeps firing, until his box of ammo runs dry. The two Epics close in while he changes it out with a fresh one, getting within ten yards of the RV's back end. By now, you've reached the end of the city's skyscrapers. The Jumper launches from the last one, straight at your gunner. You push him back with a vector, relying on the camera to aim.

You miss slightly, hitting only half his body. Still, this spins him around like a top, and he falls to a skidding halt on the ground. The tarmac tears up around him, digging him a deep hole in the road.

The black rubble shivers, as the Epic stands and brushes himself off. A few pieces of stone and asphalt are stuck in his skin, but are removed with a swipe of his hands. The scrapes remain, proving that he is a regenerative Epic. Must be durable like you.

The hulking Epic is lit up by Brandon, heavy rounds slamming into his skin. Most seem to penetrate, but don't go deep enough to do much damage. You pass out of the city, into grassland, with a scattering of trees. The flying Epic is struggling to keep up, moving at most 70 mph. The jumper, however, is able to keep close to you. With the road narrowing and starting to be curvy, you will have to slow down unless you want to crash the RV.

"Shoot his head!"

You keep driving, slowing down to handle the curves in the road. You stop accelerating the RV, and ease of a bit on the gas. Still, going around turns at eighty in a RV isn't the easiest thing in the world.

The flying Epic is still lagging behind, but has appeared in your camera again. The jumper is bounding along with you, now able to gain ground and pass you. He lands a football field away, standing in the middle of the road.

Brandon swivels around in his nest, facing into the wind. A windshield protects him, a small hole for the barrel to pass through. He fires off as many rounds as possible, perhaps a hundred ripping into the man and the surrounding road. A pothole sends you swerving, messing with Brandon's aim.

A bullet rips into the man's neck, tearing a hole out of the muscle. He grits his teeth and stays in place. Another round hits him in the side of the face. It carves a line down his face, exposing two shattered teeth. You almost slam into him, but send force into his side to send him to the curb.

It doesn't work.

He stumbles, feeling the force hit him.

But it only sends him to the side five feet.

He slides to the side, then hits the side of your RV. You feel metal being torn away, storage compartments dropping packaged food. The tear in your vehicle's side goes about a third of the way down, marking where he careened to the curb.

He stands, smiling, with metal stuck in his body. Another round hits him, in the leg this time.

The bullet stops dead when it hits his skin.

Rolled 2

You randomly start pressing buttons, the first one you hit being a large yellow one with a lightning bolt on it.

Nothing happens that you can see. However, it must have done something, as a counter on the dashboard is slowly going down. It was at 100%, now at 98% in just a minute or so.

The jumper leaps into the air, coming down next to your RV. He jumps again, landing with a *thump* at the back of the RV. Then come a series of *zztz*s, rapid *thump*s, and a shuddering scream. The man is stuck on the roof, an electric current going through his body.

Brandon swivels his pintle mount, facing the large Epic. However, the bumpy road and speed stops him from firing. A single shot gets through to the shaking man, hitting him in the side. The force slides him off the vehicle, to a tumbling stop on the pavement. He shudders and tries to rise. But the electrical current is still messing with his motor control. The flying Epic is closing in on the man, likely to help his friend/accomplice

You stop the vehicle, slamming on the brakes. A screech does across the plain, you going from eighty to zero in three seconds. You pile out of the RV, vectoring to the fallen Epic. You pull out a web of steel, a net of metal curling around the man's body.

You pull out another blade of steel, forming it into a needle. You jab it into the man's neck, using knowledge from movies to go right into the spinal cord. The blade sinks into the dense cells in his neck, halting against stone-like muscle. You pour more steel into the wound, forcing the skin apart.

The blade sinks deeper and deeper into the man's body, forming a wide cut in the man's skin.

He struggles against the metal bonds, breaking the solid metal containing his body. You reform the bonds, then focus more on the blade.

You shove it down, feeling it grate against bone.

Suddenly, something snaps in the man. The blade goes through his neck like a hot knife through butter. Blood sprays out, then stops with the man's heart.

You reach down and touch the still warm body, feeling a jolt of heat run through you. Your eyes burn, nose and mouth on fire like you ate a Bhut Jolokia.
>Gained Invulnerability II
Makes rifle shots(.223, .30, 5.56) along with buckshot near useless against you. Bruises, but most won't enter the body. Pistols might as well be a guy throwing pebbles at you. Watch out of heavier rounds, though.

The flying Epic closes in, surrounded by a shimmering ball. Brandon fires off a few more rounds, before a series of clicks signal an empty box. Brandon shrugs, unhitches the gun from it's pintle mount, then places it in the RV's loft. He climbs up from the gun nest, hands covered in blue light. He climbs onto the rooftop, blue light armoring his body.

Brandon walks down from the RV, making stairs from his hardlight. He jumps the last few feet, then runs to your side. His blue clad hands crackle with electricity, balls of light and electricity forming in his hands.

You lift the metal-coverd body, then fire it forward at the flying Epic. It slams into the shimmering wall, then separates into a fine red mist. The mist incorporates itself in the ball of air, tinting it pink.

His abrasive air ball continues forward, like a pinball machine sent it straight at you. He gets close, then you jab steel up into the air around you. The air slowly destroys your weapon, but not before he is poked with a few blades. Sadly, they don't manage to do any real damage.

"Brandon, whats your range with those electro-balls?"
"Never got to try much, maybe fifty feet?"
"When I say so, throw as many as you can at the Epic."
"Okay"

You roll to the side, with Brandon going in the opposite direction. You spring up to one knee, throwing an uppercut while rising from your crouch. The Epic shoots up, then slowly stops. He hovers in the air, then swoops down at you.

"Now!"

Brandon rises up, throwing balls of light and lightning at the plummeting Epic. The hardlight/electricity combo flies through the air field, shrinking a bit as they move away from Brandon. One strikes the airbender in the leg, which jolts and goes limp. The unfocused Epic looses control of the air, falling straight down.

Kid's a fucking Taser that eats.

You advance with Brandon behind you, on the fallen Epic. He's standing up, two whirling balls of air around his hands. He lifts his hands, the balls shredding the grass and a small bush nearby.

Dubs like this are too rare not to be good. We're playing by Ogre Civ rules now!

"Surprise, cunt"

The Epic leaps forward, swinging a wide haymaker at your head. Holy shit, he is strong. Really strong. Like the cunt at the school who regrew his head.

Fucking super strength. Great.

at least it's not his dump stat like Jumper's invincibility

His wind doesn't seem to be doing much to you, seems like your skin is too powerful.

Then he ramps it up.

All of your exposed skin burns, like sandpaper was ground against it.

You watch, smiling slightly, as Brandon throws another electro-ball at the man. You drop to the ground, pulling steel into a dome around you. The dome starts to wear away, as Aang cuts into your steel.

The barrage stops, as the man shakes and falls next to you. You open the dome, forming it into a spiked hammer and driving it into his skull. Blood and brains splatter across the grass, making it look like Christmas came early. You crawl over to the body, skin burning with every movement. The scraps are healing already, but it still hurts like a bitch. You touch the body, and are greeted with the familiar pain of absorbing a power.

Total XP: 750

Next levels you can buy
Power Stealing: 800. Lets you copy four powers at once, at 60% power at absorption(you have regen&steel at 50% power)
Invulnerablity: 750. Get shot by a HMG and keep coming. Even large rifle rounds and shotgun slugs just knock the wind out of you. Explosives and tanks are a problem still.
Regen: 400 or absorb another regen power. Makes wounds scab over in a minute and deeper wounds take a few hours to be almost healed. Don't tear your stitches, though, in a day you are fine. Must keep brain intact
Steel Manipulation: 400 or absorb another regen power. Lets you control more steel from a farther range. Allows for high limited iron manipulation, but iron control is much weaker
Vector Control: 600. Upgrades max speed(50mph to 60mph). Heavier things and items lightly rooted in the ground can be moved. WIth lots of practice, can allow for a double jump.
Super Strength: 600. Doubles your power. Lift or squat a ton, bench half a ton. When lifting things, they won't break from having the weight all on two hands.

Just saying, vector control is a retardely OP power. Since OP has stated that the power is only going to make them move faster, there's no reason to bother leveling it because the best way is to make them stop.

Make them stop their absolute position in the universe.

The amount of force your body would take going from almost 70,000 mph to 0 would kill anyone. Stopping someone in their absolute place is all you ever need to do to get out of anything. And it all works. Everything on earth is going almost 70k mph, so any time destruction needs to happen, there you go.

also we should form some intricate steal things to have on us bracelets rings thin chain belt/cord, you know things to wear.

>>
>>36341870
Anyone who has been on /tg/ long enough knows what that means.

*CLANG*
>>
>>36341870
Your powers are nowhere near strong enough for that.

If an Epic goes past Calamity, they loose their powers
>>
>>36341918
but if you pump vector, you don't need other powers? Controlling the speed and direction of everything is absolutely ridiculous. I don't think OP actually thought about what that means before making this. This is one of the most abuse-able powers I've heard of in a while.

What about things on an atomic level? What about sub-atomic? OP states "solid object" but what makes a solid object other than how the atoms are arranged? If you could control the individual movement of atoms, you can raise or drop temperatures of anything to absolute zero or to near immeasurable levels of heat. Being a physical being would be not vital anymore, as you can move your atoms to do whatever the fuck you want. If you change the speed and direction of subatomic particles, you can create nuclear explosions at will. The other powers of steel manipulation and regeneration from the first post could be done with JUST vector manipulation.

This is all shit just off the top of my head. Pumping vector makes you a god.
>>
>>36341870
I don't think you know how vectors work. Vectors need to be incredibly powerful, or sustained for a long amount of time to change it that much. What we do is apply force in directions, causing gradual acceleration.
>>
>>36342112
That is not at all how the OP put it in his first post. He said we CONTROLLED vectors, not applied force to things. Those are drastically different things.
>>
>>36342111
Yeah its good but it has a force limit, size limit and fine manipulation limit, leveling it ups those limits, but we can still be taken by surprise so leveling power stealing to make our regen and other powers stronger would be smart.
>>
>>36342179
The point is that we manipulate them, changing their direction or strength by a (relatively) minor amount. Which is, in all effects and purposes, equivalent to creating a second vector to change the first.

You pull up a section of the road, and form it into a plate of solid steel. You then mold this to the RV, which luckily has thick steel siding instead of aluminum. It looks bad, a long silver scar on the black paint. But it keeps the food inside, and thats all that really matters. You then pull up as much steel as possible, leaving behind you a fifty yard long field of spikes to pop any tire that come this way.

Once in the RV, Brandon opens the microwave and throws two bags of popcorn inside. The familiar smell of microwave popcorn fills the RV, and Brandon slams into the cushioned seat at your side. He sets the bags of popcorn on a fold down table, one for each of you. He covers his hand in blue light, claiming that he doesn't like the oily feel of the butter.

"Brandon, you have to keep a lid on your powers. I know it's fun to use them, but we have to be careful until we get somewhere safe. So, no powers unless I say so or it is a life or death situation. Got it?"
"Fine," The blue glove disappears from his hand, leaving the butter to cover his hand. He looks kinda miffed about the butter on his hand, but nothing to bad. "Yu have to do the same Zach. No powers unless we need them."
"Deal, pinky swear on it."

The two of you lock pinkies, yellowish grease covering your hands. You wipe them off on a towel, then grab a drink from the mini-fridge under the radio. Grape soda, god's gift to man.

>>
The next three days pass without any real events, though you catch Brandon using his powers to power his laptop. You lob a battery to him, landing next to his arm. You cross through a tunnel to Manhattan, where a border has been set up like in Nashville. Only here, there is much less blatant racism. An asian man with short black hair has an electric tablet, walks up to your RV. He opens the door without asking, writing a note on the tablet.

"Name, occupation, reason for being in New York CIty, are you or a passenger an Epic? If the answer is yes to the last questions, please list powers.
>What say
>Lie about powers(leave out which ones?)
>>
>>36342230
You guys do whatever you want, I just stopped by to point out a (without specification by the OP about how the powers work) glaringly obvious game breaking use of powers.

>>36342257
That's the first question I'd have asked had I gotten here earlier: how exactly do these powers work? If it is to apply force to create separate vectors to counteract the first, then yes, you're absolutely right. That'd take a retarded level of power. It was my understanding because of the wording of the OP that that wasn't the case. We controlled the speed and direction of things, leading me to think that we controlled the vectors currently affecting said object. Allowing us to "move" the force applied to however we wanted it, instead of using a second force to counteract.
>>
>>36334753
Yeah, although to be fair, Accelerator being able to do all that was indeed, bullshit.

Now, I've only seen the first season of Index and some of season 2 and Railgun, because I kinda hate Railgun for turning Railgun into a pandering moe girl/K-On reject, but the whole "I'm super smart in math" thing could have just as well been "I have instinctual knowledge of how my power works and my brain/the universe calculates for me in my subconscious, I just have to think or visualize what I want".

Because it's not like we ever see him actually solving math problems or equations in a university setting, where his supposed super math brain would be far more useful to mankind than whatever the heck he was doing.

*ahem*

Anyways, my point is, perhaps we should assume vector control is more instinctual or calculations are done subconsciously, ala a regular person's ability to estimate the size and distance of an object without having to crunch numbers. 'cause some of the hax potential powers probably can't even be calculated using current math or without information that simply wouldn't be available to the vector controller unless he had an unconventional sensing apparatus.

I'll stop now because my rant's kinda long anyways.
>>
>>36342321
Did we catch any radio or TV chatter about NYC? we need more info before we can make a decision. I'm inclined to be truthful here about what we have as far as powers go (except power stealing) just because we're going to be here for a minute. But I need a frame of reference before we go on.
>>
>>36342321
>Lie about powers(leave out which ones?)
Don't call power stealing "stealing". Say it's imitation, that way we leave out the whole "brutally murdering epics for their powers" thing.
>>
>>36342331
In character, no one really understands Epic powers. Sure, they can be used to advance science, but studying them is based on more guesswork than hard facts.

Zach is able to change the vector of an object, using an invisible force to change the speed and direction. It's hard to explain, mainly because its an Epic power and I never majored in physics
>>
>>36342382
Academy City can build supercomputers that can predict the movement of every particle in the atmosphere for the next month, they don't really need Accelerator's help to do math.

Raildex is a textbook example of rather intense power creep though, and isn't really a good example to follow.
>>
>>36342321

>Lie about powers(leave out which ones?)
leave stealing power and vector and regeneration
also don't forget to describe them like we barley understand them our selves
>>
>>36342444
>using an invisible force to change the speed and direction
ok that answers that. none of the things I previously said could happen without being retardedly high level, which as you said makes you lose your powers. I just come from MtG where word choice and shit is key. and my first instinct with superpowers is to see how I can abuse physics

>never majored in physics
that explains it. the rest seems cool though. keep up the good work

This whole conversation is brining me back to my vector calculus classes. Can we talk about something else? Like superheating metal?
>>
>>36342384
Truckers say that Epics are a ruling class, with normies being the equivalent of peasants. They can still be high ranking and rich, but Epics are gonna be almost universally better. Most truckers aren't Epics, so they're kinda bitter about it
>>
>>36342549
Then yeah me and the kid are epics ive got(list off everything but power steal and vector) and list the kids power. Play off your powers as useful but kinda weak and unknown to you, no need to make a target of yourself.
>>
>>36342602
we can leave regeneration too out to it may be unusual to have more than 3 powers we don't want to make our self a target.
>>

Ah, retard anon, never change.

rather leave out strength then regen, regen can't be hidden we can always fake weakness.

>>
>>36342800
Tell them about strength, steel manipulation, and regen
>>
>>36342800
We want a position where we get to fight other epics, to train our powers and steal more.
>>

Tell them about invulnerability regen and metal manipulation then. a good minor tank with not much punch outside the city.
>>

Leave out power steal, and metal manipulation. We can clime to a high point of power here

I vote this one

look there going to notice the sstr or vector when we do shit we gotta tell them about one the regen we can play off as never noticing before if discovered

In the city we can use metal better than vectors hence why im hiding it. we can add in minor sstr some supers have 4 or more powers right Calamity?

Good?

yeah only invul is anything remotely impressive power level wise but all together makes us a solid tank.

na tell them about

we use it too much not to tell them

>>36343199
Leaps are from strength and the weird shit we pull is strength+invul(to withstand hurting ourselves)+metal
>>
>>36343136
Yeah, Epics normally have from one to five powers of various strengths
>>
>>36343243
o ok that's fine then
>>
>>36343256
Wow. Power stealing is more broken than I thought. We can just pump that up, and play off te theme of inevitable, calling ourself the inevitable end to all epics.
Get some boss powers that work well together.
>>
>>36343140
good, makes us a solid tank with just enough to get in good without telling better powers
>>

Running fast can also be from strength.
Propelling rocks through stone can be throwing shit really hard.

Moving people can be magneto style metal control.

Zachary and Brandon Zelnakis, Epics. I can manipulate metals, regenerate cells, am super strong and I don't get hurt like a normal human. My brother can create electricity and hard light. I've come to speak with the leaders of your city. We'll be expecting accommodations and a place for our vehicles."

Of course sir, I am sorry for the inconvenience. What floor would you like? We have... the fifth, seventeenth, and the twenty second floors open for residence while we set up permanent housing for you.

"We'll take the twenty second floor."

"Yes sir. We'll have a key card made for each of you. Please use the rightmost lane while you are here, it is for Epics only. A flag will be made for any car that you have, simply attach it to the mirror. I'll enter in the address of the hotel to your GPS." The man bows to you, then closes the door gently.

You follow the directions, staying on the outer lane. No cars are in your way, the other lanes crowded with cars. It's good to be king.

You arrive at the hotel, but there has to have been some mistake. The GPS says 50 Central Park South, but there is no way thats right. The Ritz Carlton shouldn't even let you in the door, an unemployed man with a small child trailing after him. Hell, they should call the police.

You walk through the door, a doorman in a red coat holding it for you. The man manning the reception desk looks up, then scrambles to grab a pair of keys off his desk.

"Hello sirs! We've been informed of your arrival and had your rooms prepped for you. You'll find the minibar stocked with the best liqueur in New York, all complimentary. Here are your keys, in your room is a menu for room service. Free of charge of course. Have a nice stay while you are here."

The man hands you the two keys, one of which goes to Brandon. The other finds a home in your pocket. You enter the elevator, having the man send a person to drive the RV to the garage. Sliding the key card into a slot in the elevator, the button labeled "22" lights up.

You step out into the floor, and enter paradise.

Brandon, grab the menu. Order everything you want and everything you can't pronounce. Get them to bring ice cream. Lots of ice cream." You call out, voice echoing in the massive rooms. While you can't see his face, you assume it is a mix between delight, wonder, and his first orgasm.

An hour later, a massive feast is laid out on your dining room table. The table, able to seat ten, is full and has food spilling onto trestle tables and kitchen counters. Extra rare kobe beef steaks, burgers, ribs, shrimp, wild boar, lamb, swordfish, salmon, veal, and rabbit make up a large part of the dinner. A scattering of salads keeps the feast "healthy". Cheesecake, apple cobbler, freshly made doughnuts, molten lava cake, creme brulee, brownies, and cookies are arranged in an arc around Brandon in various states of destruction.

The ice cream.

Dear God, the ice cream.

Piles of it, kept cold by blasts of CO2, litter the table. Entire tubs of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry gave their lives to the cause. But their deaths were not in vain. A new, free society has been created, where no man is higher than anoth...

I'm sorry. I can't say that with a straight face.

But it is great.

Three Baskin Robins were looted to satisfy you and your little brother. An IHOP ran out of batter for waffles, so much is used for the feast. Millions of children in cocoa plantations will curse your name, for causing a refreshed dependance on slave labor to meet the needs of your little family. Twenty million Mexican immigrants got jobs in the strawberry field, so great was the need for strawberry icecream.

You singlehandedly jumpstarted the American economy by binge eating ice cream.
