Previously:
San Diego is wiped out by a tidal wave, a young man caught in the deluge as the city is erased by what some might consider the very wrath of god in a world with a sky of endless colors. Snatched from the brunt of the wave, the young man faces an inhuman creature of humanoid form that strikes out his eye to deliver onto him the gift of magic by means of the followers.

Praise be to Susej they say. These followers.

Selfish in his means of survival, a young man rallies with these people for his own safety as the government seeks to keep the truth of the world under wraps, that magic exists and that people like the followers are throwing it into chaos.

Sent on a mission to liberate people captured for conscription based on their awakening to magic, he journeys with others to meet with a woman planted for this very purpose, finding adversity on the way.

Having left a trail all too easy to follow, he's been captured and taken to the very place he'd been looking to gain access, though not exactly on his own terms...

Recently rescued by unknown allies, the young man takes on a new alias “Faust” to help him lay low.

You are Asher Faust, welcome to Over(human)Limit S2
>>
There's a thick apprehension in the air as you and Emilia get to work, figuring out how to harness the power held within fossilized bones. As you reassemble the skeleton with mastery of earth, she seeks out the real head.

There's a manic giggling from another room, Echo if you have the voice right. In response there are wordless yells from young bodies. She's not... torturing them, is she? For as crazy as Echo is, you've never seen her be cruel. No, that's always been more your thing.

“She's just teasing them.” Saph says, as she comes up to you from behind. She looks over the skeleton with a glance, “What's the idea?”

“Not sure. Thinking it'd be a good medium to bind a dragon or-”

“Asher, you still haven't had enough of summoning?” Saph sighs, exasperated, “Look, a dragon will complicate the situation unless it's some kind of creature aligned with the faeries. If you want them to have a dragon guarding the portal that's your descretion. It could work. But if it goes out of control it's another damn thing to deal with and ancient beasts don't answer well to contracts.”

“What do you mean?”

Saph reaches out to touch one of the ribs, too short even with the monster's lower posture. You make it higher to screw with her. Frowning, “You'd need to tame it by forcing it to recognize you. We don't have the time or the space for that.”

“What if Emilia used it as a medium? Piloted it around like some kind of ancient mech?”

Saph's eyes go wide as she stares at you, a sarcastic smile on her face that slowly turns to disbelief, “Wait, you're serious, aren't you?”

Your face says it all. A man that, when confronted with fire, pours on more gas just to watch it burn.”

“Okay, that is an external art and we do not have time for her to bind something so massive, we-”

“Skip to how I make it work.”
>>
>>36336569

Saph shuts up for a moment, turning silent as she considers the possibilities. “Well... We could all pilot it together. Emilia could take the feet, Tony the tail, you the head, and I'd occupy the heart.”

“What about Echo?” You point a thumb back, to feel a hand bat it away.

“What about Echo?” She repeats.

Saph shrugs, “Echo.. You do whatever you do. Asher, it's up to you.”

The closest thing I found was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gundestrup_cauldron

It apparently has a dragon on it which guards the gate to the otherworld, but the damn thing isn't named at all and it might just be a fucking seahorse. Wikipedia page doesn't say shit about fae, but randomass wiccans seem convinced that this thing is totally fae and it's all Christianity's fault or something...
>>
We could summon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gargouille if we feel like being an asshole and making everything worse.

It's basically a water dragon with a damn near indestructible neck&head and a propensity for flooding shit. Has a breath attack that's pretty much just high pressure water jets.

Emilia totes the skull back by the time you make your decision. The bones are suspended through your, Saph, and Emilia's efforts, a marble shell woven around the outside as a means for defense and stability.

Emilia begins a chant, taking the lead of the ritual without your word or consent.

“Oh round mother earth,
Bringer into birth,
Sweet creatress of the night and day.

Bring your spirit through,
Rest our thoughts in you,
Guide our feet in the natural way.”

As you and Saph repeat the chant, Emilia recites the words to imbue it with a more proper life and origin.

“Time now for your rebirth,
Wear this shell of sacred earth
We will help you walk the way.”

The marble connects, and extends the spinal column, coating the bones with like an enamel, giving it the appearance of a nigh-heavenly set of bones. Energies within, latent and primal burst forth at Emilias' words, Saph's guidance, and your power. Like tapping into a wellspring, the thing begins to move, taking on more marble from the columns, the fae decorating it with intricate and lovely engravings as they lend their own hand to the ritual.

Against your better wishes, it seems to truly come alive despite your initial intentions. With the magic of the faeries and the blessing of gaia, the ancient bones take on new life, runed Marble sealing shut a heart of faerie light.
Once sealed, the dams of power are truly broken and a wind latches onto it, peeling back visage of marble, replacing it with its own glamour, a spoilage of white and gold feathers, and ephemeral blue eyes.

Once done, the monster looks truly alive, in both movement and appearance. A voice ancient and great rumbles through the ether without words, a blessed sigh.

“Wow.” Is all that Echo can really manage before running up to the thing and clambering up its leg, pulling at feathers for grip. She finally makes it to the top and throws her legs over either side, laughing maniacally, “I'M RIDING A DINOSAUR!”

You and Saph throw palms into your faces at nearly the same time, Emilia just kind of laughs.

There's a howl and an ensuing warcry from outside as thousands of fae go to war with moonlit blades of grass. A deathly host carries its procession slowly and steadily onto land that they very much take offense to.

Moonlight clashes with the dead host as they draw dark blades of their own sadness and rage. A moaning through the astral that threatened to steal away the everyman's very soul. Burnt out hatred and remore clash with the party of light, stealing away and swallowing it into the host.

Men of valor, sworn to serve the country from all magical attacks turn tail and flee from this terror. Their sight is not on them however, it is on the man that did this.

You feel a sickness drop in your stomach. Legna tells you that she senses your demise, her premonitions thrown into disarray by the swell of hatred creeping toward the door. Saph visibly shakes, “No, I can't do this...” She drops to her knees, breathing quickening as she holds herself, rocking back and forth. “No. No. No. No.” She keeps saying, repeating.

You look outside and you see the faces of thousands dead, peering in from the windows, their darkness flickering, closing in, their gazes fixated- on you.
>>
>>36338270

You step back, the host of the damned staring at you with empty dead eyes. They've come for you. But this, is this really the wyld hunt? Where is Donneth? Would he be directing this procession? What?
You wrack your brain for answers, and it comes- The Slaugh.

Yet they do not come in, why? They've advanced and now they linger, simply staring in from outside from the broken entry hall blocked by the column. Do they halt because of the runes, ? The wards?
Thinking is good, Saph is overwhelmed with emotion, and the faeries are becoming scared, the remnants of the forces outside retreating within.

“My god, there's so many.” Emilia whispers...

Taking a deep shuddering breath, you steel yourself to be strong with the horde waiting just beyond the window's glass. They tap upon the glass, a gentle, and persistent tick tap. Another scratches, scraping at the stone of the wall.

Your mental fortitude is wavering fast. Open a way in and they'll take you. Do nothing, and you have to deal with them watching you. Deal with them waiting you out.

“No! No please! Stop it!” Saph cries, buring her face in her hands, “Go away, no, no, no!”
Saph kicks her feet back until she finds a fallen display, forcing her back against something, anything while she rides out the worst of her trauma-based panic attack.
“Marcus, Marcus please... H-help me...”

Their darkness seeps in ever so slightly, the light of the Seelie doing everything it can to ward them off. There's a whisper through the ether, familiar, yet far more powerful than you remember. (Hah, hah. Summoner,) The voice gloats, laughing with triumph. (However would the cornered rabbit deter the dire wolf from its burrow?) It toys with you, drills into your emotions, (When everything comes back to you, do you shit yourself in terror? Struggle futiley? Show me what you will do, when my spear shatters your pretense of safety, a false illusion.)

“Donneth! Is this your doing?!” You shout back at the empty air, among the host, you do not see the demon, nay you do not see the glint of his armor nor the glint of his armor.

(Whatever tipped you off? The thousands dead that have learned who you are? The gloating?)

“It will be your undoing, you haven't killed us yet!”
>>
>>36340912

(Nay summoner, Yet I do see the near future where I claim your life. I know of the lions within the rabbit's den. This is merely a jest compared to what I have in mind for you. Nay, summoner. When I claim your pissant life, it will be when you know true terror. When you are scared, alone, and in doubting. That is when Donneth The Wild will take you.

If this horde robs me of that pleasure, you will have not been worth the time!) The voice fades into laughter, touched with Saph's persistent crying.

Emilia clings to one of your arms, equally terrified of the throng of enraged dead. “What do we do Asher?”

“We don't let them in. We take this time to work on a ritual, if I can cast with the support of the fae again, I can-”

“No!” Echo says with n uncharacteristically merry cheer, her mask back on and eyes more slits.

“What?”

She slips around you like flowing silk, touching your face and looking into your eyes, “To attack is to weaken them, they see all fault in you. If we allow them to claim you...” Echo vanishes in a blur, hands slipping up the back of your body with the touch of a devil's advocate, “They will leave the rest of us be. That is the most effective solution.”

“Not for me, I won't-”
You stop, switching over to astral vision on a whim. The many fae look to you with sadness in their eyes.

Echo continues as she slips away, “You need not die, just run and keep running. They have no quarrel with the fae.”

You stare out at all the faeries, still persisting in astral form, “Would you all give me up that easily? Would you really betray me?” You say, yelling louder than expected.

Tony laughs, “Better you than us.”

The faeries don't respond, looking to each other and talking amongst themselves.

“It's a matter of who you're fighting for,” Echo wags a finger that you want to break.

“I won't let them take him.” Emilia says firmly without room for dispute.

Tony crosses his arms, “So what do you suggest? We all die here together? One last glorious stand against a problem that this young man caused?” He smiles, a disenchanting, cruel smile. “I think not. You need to hold people like this accountable for their own actions.”

“Tony, Echo, are you turning on me too?” You say, to grasp who your enemies are. Without Saph's leadership everything is breaking down, paranoia and fear taking root in your mind and everyone else's.

“Just kidding!” Echo exclaims, spinning around on her heel, “But if those things come in, I'm running. And Asher, you'd do the same in Tony's shoes, right?”

You feel a strange mix of anger and relief, your shoulders dropping, “I just might, yeah.”

Tony looks out to the windows, holds out a hand and taps into his magic, pushing back the shadows some. “The host itself won't obey, but I can hinder their movements. They are darkness, death, and air. My forte. “

“And impervious to fire. Windows will hold back the Sluagh, but fire won't touch them.”

“Oh?” Tony says with a raised brow.

“They can't touch the ground and the fires of hell can't burn them. Even if Marcus does come, he'd just be overtaken.”

“No.” Saph whispers, her voice suddenly stilling. She clambers against a podium to stand up all the while shaking her head, “No, Marcus will come and he'll save us.”

“His fire can't hurt them, what the hell can he do?!” You yell, as angry as you are scared. “He's fast, turns into smoke, and what else? Eats people? The hell do you think he's actually going to do?”

“Asher... You weren't supposed to say that. Asher, you weren't supposed to say that.” Saph shakes her head, looking to the others, Echo avoids her glance. Likely the woman already knew.

“None of you tell the others. You can't know about that.”

“The hell does it matter now? We're dead as soon as someone breaks a fucking window! Unless you really do want them to take me.” In truth, you realize, the Sluagh would likely welcome you among their ranks. Neither heaven nor hell. The reality twists you up inside your chest. This is why the Mummies ditched, isn't it?

“I don't want to do that Asher. I don't want you to die, or anyone else. You'll pay for your mistake by living, you've already begun to at least try to do right by others.”

(Boring.) Donneth's voice returns, (Shall I cast my spear through the canopy and let them descend upon thine like the wrath of the night?) The Wyld Wendigo cackles again as everyone winces, suddenly taken again by fear.

(The Fox-child is right, the host comes for him. Yet I do not sense surrender within thine party, only the decrepit flower of despair budding...)

“Cease this madness.” Legna appears in her fully materialized form. “My lord's comrades have already stated their case, we await reinforcements and I will cut this gallery of dead in twain with mine own blade if need be. Demon, monster of the night! You are as much a coward as any other beast!”

Legna's appearance, no, her light brightens the gloom away from the Seelie fae. “We have only begun this war. My comrades, brothers and sisters in arms, we cannot falter when we have only come this far!”

“Well said, maiden of Asgard.” The Elves of light come out from below clad in armor like gilded emerald leaves growing naturally over them, swords like thorns taken from a tree.

Shaer, Ynto, and Aemili with one other female. “Camille,” She moves a lock of hair behind an ear, smiling with shining eyes. They seem unperturbed by the dead waiting at the door, even radiant.

“We will fight.”

A gutteral growl by Sue another response.

“We protect our own and Lady Legna speaks true. We have come to stay, not get chased off.”

Without warning you hear the sound of glass breaking, like the heart of life itself, and Shaer is impaled by a javelin of black ice. (And so came the lions to slaughter...)
The foul cold creeps along his body, squandering his light to deadly frost. He reaches out for Aemili as she stares on with horror in her eyes.

There is no good in this world that evil cannot touch.

The horde of the dead scream and fly in from the canopy window...

You summon up all of your power with a desperate rush of wind magic to push back the horde of darkness pouring inside. Tony lends a hand with with combined effort you hold back the worst of it, Legna dispatching the errant ones that slip through, her blade cutting through theirs with the power of Asgard's light.
Aemili recovers from her trauma with the impending threat and quickly casts out arrows of light with her brother, Camille begins to paint the hole closed.

Once more the fould Donneth laughs, (You think it that simple?)

More javelins of pitch black ice shatter glass, Sue shields as many as she can with her own body, as they come down snapping out at the deathly host, a second clean up.

“Sylph! Evi! Help us!”

“Yes!” The faeries join hands again, even spirits of wind that you had never spoken to before. They aid in yours and Tony's efforts to drive wind out through the windows, yet they combat with just as much force, delivering their own enraged howl like a thousand souls screaming out in anguish.

Your life starts to flash before your eyes as you begin to wonder how things came to this. The cold inside is terrible as black frost creeps along Sue and down towards the ground. “Echo, burn it away!” You call, but there's no response.

“I'll take care of it!” Saph yells over the wind, with a wick of her hands she washes flames over the Saurian golem and jumps into its small arms, entering inside of its body. In the next moment its otherwise white feathers glow with a surreal blue flame, yet that's going to do little against the most pressing threat of the deathly wind.

“What do you propose we d
>>
>>36343082

“What do you propose we do?” Tony yells over to you and the faeries.

Propose, what the hell would you propose here? “Turn it into a twister, they'll be trapped outside of the windwall!”

You and Tony begin to turn and churn the air whipping it into an indoor cyclone, wind carrying the presence of enraged and terrifyingly angry spirits just out of reach of you. The hands, the eyes, they're still all deadset upon you.

Emilia touches the ground, “You said that they can't touch the earth, right?”

“Right!”

Emilia begins her usual incantation, walls erupting around the four of you along with Sue, and sealing it tight.

(Boring. You think they are they only ones out for blood?)

Emilia screams and recoils, detaching her connection with the stone she's manipulated, going immediately into her purifying breath. Out of the new darkness you see glinting teeth sneering from within the walls. “Maim them...” a voice dripping with maliciousness whispers as it's forced open by the hands of another Unseelie.
But in all this, where are Camille and the elves?

Sue is once more attacked by javelins piercing through the roof, the hands of things that go bump in the night playing at dismantling the powerful golem. Whether the beast itself or Saph had been tormented enough, it unleashes a bellowing roar of light to bat away the darkness. The shadows however grow long enough for the monsters to hide.

“The judge that decides life or death, Steel Gray!” A strike of color hard as iron swings itself into existence repelling all of the fae, Seelie and Unseelie from yourself and the others to give you reprieve while the light holds.
Camille shouts out to you, “I need light!”
>>
>>36343101

You respond in turn by casting out a brilliant flame that spirals and writhes, dancing in the air until you force control and increase its intensity as Camille paints.

“The color that forbids the birth of life and holds the hand of god, Virgin's White!” This time, the magical splash of paint strikes out into the long shadows, spoiling the horde's hold on Legna, as it illuminates them, the divine aspect of the paint forces their retreat from the Valkrie.

You can see Camille now, she's being protected by a barrier erected by the two remaining elves.

She continues, “The infinity that surpasses the heavens, Eternal Sky Blue!” The next strike breaks the ceiling as a whole, the black horde forced out of the museum at the force of air, this paint too strikes Legna as she's rising up, glowing with a fury like no other.

Realizing what Camille's doing, you quickly repeat her incantations in your heart and lend mana to the valkyrie.

You and Camille empower the Valkyrie at once, healing her and granting her power that dwarfs her previous self completely.
“Legna, banish the death!” You shout out to the Valkyrie, and she moves with speed befitting her supernatural status cutting down all the darkness, leaving even shadows with wounds of light. In her last act she flies up to the missing roof and cleaves the air itself, a wave of wind and light in a full circle arc to banish an unseen foe.

The burn begins to set in for both you and Camille, forcing you to break the feed and the Valkyrie, equally spent falls.

As the dark creatures take her, overpowering even her divine light, she holds onto her sword and keeps hold of her shield refusing to die like a coward. They bite and tear through her armor, ripping away the power of her astral form. Mortals do not know pain. The pain of having everything you are picked away into some other wretched thing.

All of the strength she's been given to exist is being stripped away... And as much as she desires to fight, the dark things have staked their claim.

A sweep of silver like the steel of a blade cuts through the dark things, yet also her. Yet the wound does not cut, instead it paints her, the power of steel seeping into where there should be a grievous gash. A flare from the power of her summoner drives away the dark, a searchlight seeking her out.
A strike of white so pure and good tears through her body, chasing away the lingering gnashers, allowing her to rise again with a lean upon her sword, white wings bursting forth from the nape of her neck.

Then, between the renewed light banishing the dark, a powerful updraft pushes out all the evil that's invaded this place, the sky above painted with the blue of day, yet the stroke began with her. More power wells within and she feels the strength return, the power to defeat these foul foes.
Her summoner joins, increasing the might.

With a step and the flick of her wrist, the blade moves with the lightness of air and strikes with the power of Asgardian steel deep and true with divine might to banish the dead.
With no shieldsister or brother, the buckler slips from her form as she switches to wielding her longsword with two hands for superior speed and technique. With each flick a shadow is cleaved and cut, the virgin white striking out at the very fabric of darkness. Until there is not a sinister shadow uncut, then following the path into the painted blue sky, she sees the horde as they await the force of wind to end. With one final stroke she unleashes the rest of the power with a blast of wind and light two eviscerate the evil at their door.

Spent, and feeling the power end, she falls from being at the pinnacle of divinity down to the ground, wings peeling away and her helm falling, releasing long locks of golden hair. As the painted blue sky fades, she regards it as beautiful even if only so temporary like the power gifted to her. Someday, she would be a true valkyrie. Someday, she would decide the fate of the greatest warriors and be there when they finally fall from their wounds.

So long as war becomes honorable once more, so too will the valkyries have purpose. And her blade would defend those from such evil.

Closing her eyes, she awaits the touch of the ground, only to fall into the arms of her summoner.

“Legna...” You sink to your knees after catching her, a warm light suddenly flickering at your back. Never were you made to do this kind of physical bullshit, even with your wooden arm's strength, the weight of her astral body is enough to knock you to the ground. “Good job...”

Her eyes widen, the blues framed by the mess of golden hair that is her vulnerable visage. She had not expected... “Thank you, my lord.” She smiles, showing a weakness that you'd never thought to see in an astral entity. Quite frankly, it's strange.

The Sluagh has failed him, yet the hunt is not over.

A stalwart figure looms far from the museum, over a mile away as sharp, eagle-like eyes peer at the strange colors, a rose of blue that's bloomed over the museum to drive out the angry horde. A wave of light cuts them down, turning their night into day and banishing them into non-existence.

The cold man smiles, long wild hair blowing with the residual air from the wretched Valkyrie's sweep. Cold blackens his lips, driving them to black and blues, eyes pitch black with the power of faeborn darkness. As the valkyrie falls, he slows the world around him as he draws forth another javelin of black ice. A farce and a challenge that first one was. Though the Summoner could not have seen it, it had been a surprise when the Valkyrie blocked it.

Vulnerable now, he he throws for her heart at her landing, it would be the death of the Summoner's shield.

To his excitement, the selfish summoner does something unexpected, he moves to catch the Valkyrie. The javelin of black ice will kill two birds with one throw. Yet there is a flash of flame, and a demon worse than himself prolongs the hunt. More waiting, more watching...

“Hello!” A little fox shouts from the hunter's blind. As he spins around with a knife of ice, the fox chops the wrist, and her claws find the hunter's dagger, driving it forward while it's still in his own hand.
In a split decision, he allows his other hand to be stabbed by the knife rather than his own heart. With a deep breath he breaths out death's frost to chase off the fox, only for it to be fended off with the smiling fox's own breath of falsefire.

No! Not the burning! He begins to leap away, only to find that the fox had not yet relinquished her grip. He severs his own hand like a lizard's tail to break her grip as he lets himself plummet down unto the haunted streets from one of Chicago's own skyscrapers. As he reattaches his arm with frostbite he sees that the fox runs down after him alongside the building, laughing madly the entire time, “Hehe, you're not getting away! You're going to be my new toy!” One of her hands shifts into a strange hand-sign of a fox... No.

“Wolf.” She whispers before her falsfire erupts into a phantom apparation appaling and forboding as she launches herself off of the building with crushing force, sending glass glittering to the haunts below.

The hunter armors himself with the black ice, donning his armor for war as the phantasmal wolf's jaws bite into him, throwing him to the ground with apt force as the terrifying girl follows up with liberating both of her hands, from a deceptive fox-maw to the fangs of a wolf.

“Hunt!” She announces as she sends dozens of falsefire strikes down at the demonman. Crashing into the ground, he thinks it apt to focus his senses. The girl's strikes slow down and he leaps out of the way, sending out lancets of black frost to skewer the fox-wolf whatever this girl is.

She maneuvers, bounding off of a hastily made falsefire platform, one of the lancets having pierced the bone of her arm. With the flex of her soul, she melts it away.
“You caused us trouble,” The sinister smile of the fox's face widens, “Because of you, XIX's sisters died.”

The hunter does not respond, instead taking the initiative to seek routes of escape.

“Because of you, XIX is going to find her sisters dead.” Her smile turns into a fanged grimace. What is she even talking about?
“Oh! When an astral body comes into this world, it can truly die?”

The hunter's blood goes colder than ice. “How...” He betrays the secret that no mortal should know.

“That's interesting!” She says in a saccharine voice as she holds up that initial sign, middle and ring finger touching thumb, the index and pinkie alert and stiff. “Fox!” The touching fingers then part, the once pressed now becoming like to fange, “Now wolf.” Her tone takes a dreadful shift.

The hunter prepares his escape, he just needs to run. Just... She comes.

>a demon worse than himself prolongs the hunt.
Looks like Marcus is here.

>bounding off of a hastily made falsefire platform
Did Echo seriously rip off the idea I suggested Asher use even though it never even got to the stage where Asher considers it?

Eh, whatever. She's rekking Donneth and she wants to protect XIX. That's good enough for me. Echo's cool.
>>
>>36344306
>dran said we could be trusted because we were nice to xix
>Echo is going full yandere up in this bitch
we dodged a bullet didn't we?

>Did Echo seriously rip off the idea I suggested Asher use
She can see some of the meta discussion in the threads and Dran's ask, remember?

So yeah. She probably did.
>>
>>36344384
I guess I should start peppering the threads/ask with suggestions for things she can try, then.
>>
>>36344409
She should try staying away from xix.
No one touches muh waifu
>>
>>36344384
Wait that's where her "prophecy" powers come from? She can break the fourth wall? No wonder she's a bit unhinged. You ever want to see how fucked up a person can get from listening to the players stop by hollow quest redux sometime. The mc Risa is fucking bonkers thanks to the "voices" in her head.
>>
I think I have Echo figured out.

She has passive secret sense. By being near people, she is able to learn about them and what they're trying to hide, and the longer she's near them the more she learns. That is why she is so easily able to judge people and bother them, and be generally a cute little girl...then turn around and be terrifying force of nature. She judges people based on what they try to hide.

XIX is perfect to her, because someone like XIX has nothing to hide. Asher is also decent enough, since although he is a terrible person he's not hiding anything about how bad he really is. He doesn't keep many selfish secrets.

>hollow quest redux
No thank you. It isn't the worst quest - I'm not sure which is, but I reserve my vote for the one that almost killed me - but pass.
>>
>>36344442
Xix has lots to hide anon
>>
>>36344428
We the players in this quest are considered some vague astral entity whatever.

Echo doesn't hear everything we say, though. Just the stuff that's considered IC, whatever that is. Dran never really specified.
>>
>>36344453
A quest almost killed you?
Storytime?
>>
>>36344462
XIX is a clone. She has as much to hide as an infant.
>>
>>36344524
Anon, you are really naive
>>
>>36344453
Well thank you for being polite about your dislike. Most people get really confrontational about quests they don't like. Its why I avoid the qtg.
>>
>>36344479
Homeless Mutant Quest. There was one decision, and in retrospect I can't even say why it fazed me so bad, but that is probably a good thing. I think my brain almost burst. I seriously blacked out. I might have had a panic attack, I was so mad. Basically, if I remember right, it was this part where they're paying back a local crook by hopping on one of his boats with some of his employees, and then some competition gets in the way, so they decide to free the (human) merchandise, who attacks, so they yell out how they're trying to free them, and then to cover for it, they yell to the other guys about how they found some cover. Something like that. It's a little funny, actually, but when I was reading it, I was done reading. It was actually the only time I went to QTG.
>>
>>36344592
I remember reading that when I archive binged the quest and I just had to stop and go do something else to make sure I hadn't forgotten how to read.

Came back after doing whatever it was I did and to my sickened amusement, I had read it completely correctly. Sat there making stupid faces and then read the rest of it and now I only remember it when other people bring it up.
>>
>>36344592
Ah I remember that episode. Well I wonder how it triggered such a strong reaction but now I just hope it never happens to you again. Seriously, that sounded awful to experience.

Marcus melts away the javelin of black ice in his grip well over a foot away from you. His eyes scann over the room quickly as though he's looking for something, “Where is Saph?” a voice of stifled desperation.

“I'm here. I'm here.” Saph says as she leaves the confines of the golem. Marcus gives the surroundings another quick scan, wary of the missing roof.

“I was held up by the bullshit outside. Fire wouldn't hurt them and eating them one by one was a pain in the ass.” He starts to explain himself, then falls silent, “Are you okay?” He eyes her face from behind his mask, “Were you crying?”

Saph looks down, looking less like the unspoken leader of Zeitgeist and more like a woman trying to hide her true feelings. No one tells Marcus that she called out for him when she broke down. But Saph does say, “I'm fine now. I'm okay now.”

“Good.” The man of fire looks out to everyone else and takes not of the tree breaking through the ground, and the larger fae beginning to come out, shedding light into the empty canopy of the museum. “We're defending this point now, correct? The city's gone to hell, in all likelihood, this is the safest place to be for now. We'll need to move when they mobilize the big boys.”

Laying Legna down, you dust yourself off. For all that mess, you're honestly more tired than you are dirty, “Saph mentioned Templars might be mobilized.”

“Last ones they call when this sort of shit goes south. They'll purge everyone that they suspect of having an astral infection that isn't them.”

Saph gives a labored sigh as she slides down next to Sue's foot, “They're the reset button.”

“Why aren't they fighting the followers?” You ask.
>>
>>36344703
“They do. But they don't work will with others. Despite magic they still have limits, taking on a horde of other experienced overs working together is tough.”

You let yourself fall to the ground, feeling dust and soot getting into your curly hair,”So we just hold out with the Seelie, wait for them to come and then kill them before they massacre everyone in Chicago?”

Marcus smiles, “That's the plan now... Hey, where's Echo?"

"Hell if I know."

Honestly, the thing about LIMIT grubbing isn't even that I'm trying to squeeze more of it out of you, I just want to have it clearly defined where the cutoff points are for encounters so that I have an idea of whether or not burning LIMIT will fuck us too hard.

Of course, actually getting it immediately would be nice, but it's still not my main concern.
