Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

But damn, its fun.

You are Zachary Zelnacki, newly formed Epic. Two months ago, super-powered people rose from the wea-I mean normal. Yeah, normal. You have the ability to control vectors, allowing you to change the speed and direction of any solid object within 15 yards(13 meters). You are also inhumanly tough, able to shrug off small caliber weapons. Finally, and perhaps most important, you are able to absorb powers from dead Epics, if you touch them within ten minutes of death.

You witnessed an Epic fight in the local Middle school, and absorbed the power of steel manipulation and regeneration. You then uploaded the video of the battle and bought a Glock. Finally, you check around town for anything of interest. You see a poster about an Epic in Sacramento, read about a trio of Epics that took over New York City, and learned about LA.

You went on the road, driving to New York. In Colorado, a blockade forces you to pull over. After killing two men, the militia is able to handcuff you. Put into a large execution machine, open to the public. Who were there in large numbers, unluckily for them. Fearing for your your life, your powers fly out of control. Forming a metal shell around yourself, a rampage ensues. Nearly 20% of the town's population later, you reach your car. You fall into a fitful sleep, full of flashing lights, pleas for mercy, spraying blood, and a feeling of overpowering strength.

>>
You loot the town, breaking into a large house with an RV out front. Within the house, you eat breakfast and meet Brandon. The eight year old Epic joins you, bringing his pets along for the ride. It turns out that his parents were preppers, with bug out bags, a collection of weaponry, and an RV tricked out for going innawoods. The two(four counting the pets) of you drive cross-country, eventually being funneled into Nashville.

You escape the KKK controlled city, killing three Epics with the help of Brandon and the RV's heavy weaponry. You absorb two powers, super strength and invulnerability. Outfitted with new powers, you continue to New York. A checkpoint in the Brooklyn tunnel has you sent to a hotel to wait for an officer in the Epic army. You and Brandon order a feast of room service, jumpstarting the American economy.

>Base Powers

Power Stealing(II): The ability to absorb the last power a dead Epic used. Can hold four powers at once, absorbed powers have sixty percent strength. Must touch dead Epic within twelve minutes of their death.

Invulnerability(II): Rifle shots(.223, .30, 5.56) along with buckshot near useless against you. Bruises, but most won't enter the body. Pistols might as well be a guy throwing pebbles at you. Watch out of heavier rounds, though.

Vector manipulation(I): You are able to change the vector of objects, making a piece of gravel punch through steel. Blows that you are expecting can be diverted. A range of twenty yards.
>Stolen Powers

Steel Manipulation(I): The ability to move, bend, liquify, and shape various types of steel. Must use existing steel, range of fifty yards.

Regeneration(I): You now heal at a much higher rate, scrapes scabbing over in a minute, deep wounds heal in a day.

Super Strength(I): You are above and beyond an Olympic athlete. Lift half a ton, squat half a ton, bench seven hundred pounds. All this, and you never look any bigger than a normal Epic

guys guys, if lvl 2 increased the time limit what if MAX power steal doesn't have a time limit at all?

We'd likely stockpile corpses when we need to switch out powers.

For that matter we could at max level steal powers at the opponents level (higher than 1)on a touch while their still alive.

Oh God.

This is hell.

Why did you eat so much ice cream?

Why the hell is Brandon not in horrible pain like you?

Seriously. He's eating breakfast!

The two of you probably ate 15000 calories for dinner.

And now he's eating a continental buffet's worth of bacon and eggs

Fucking kids.

You lurch up from the Egyptian cotton sheets, feeling worse than if when you get shot. Pulling on a pair of sweatpants over your boxers, you lurch to the dining room.

"Morning Brandon. How are you still alive and eating right now?"

The blue eyed boy looks up at you from his breakfast, grease overing his lips. He shrugs, then looks back down at his food. "Still hungry. Wanted some bacon. Boar bacon tastes waaay better than normal bacon. Try some." Brandon says, then grabs a piece of bacon from the towering pile on the table. He hands it over, prompting you to bite into it.

Dear God, this is the greatest bacon known to man.
>Insert the pic for this, I don't have it on my computer. It's from hentai and they guy's face is perfect for this.
You sit across from Brandon, shoveling some scrambled eggs and bacon onto a plate. You dig in, stomach emptying as you eat.
>Say anything?

>>36354422
The recap on the top is fairly good, if you just want to start right away
>>
>>36354476
I hate it when people jump into quests without reading the archives. It's only a couple threads anyway.

"So far NYC is a pretty cool huh? Call me paranoid, but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. So any ideas on what you want to do around here?" You say, snagging two pieces of toast and making an egg and bacon sandwich.

"We could go to to Central Park," Brandon jerks his head over at the window, which as a beautiful view of the park. "Then we could look around town for cool stuff. A new Pokemon game is coming out, can we get one? Oh! I'll get two so we can battle!"

"Okay, sounds like a plan. One of the ruling Epics should be coming round to meet us soon, so I'll have to stay in the city. We'll check Times square for a Gamestop or something for Pokemon." You say, then go back to eating. You make some small talk, including a pancake eating contest. It ends in a tie.

As you are finishing up, the phone rings. You wipe the grease of your lips and hands, then put the phone on speaker.

"Hello sir, I would like to inform you that one of our great Epic army generals would like to set up a time to meet you and your brother. What time would be good for you sir?" The voice asks.

"Six o'clock, at our room. We'll be out for the day, I expect it to be cleaned when we return. That is all." Brandon looks up from his plate, then throws in another request.

"And have dinner sent to the room at six. Bring ten crickets and two mice."

"Yes sirs, i'll notify the staff."
>>
The two people in your little family finish breakfast, and throw on the clothes that weren't destroyed in the fight. The keycards go in pockets, and some money out of the envelope into your pockets. You exit the hotel, walking down the sidewalk. It's quite a sight, a 6'5 ripped man and a buff kid rapidly moving to the same height. Right now, he only comes up to your pec.

You have a stereo typical day in New York, walking between all the attractions. In the Central Park, you visit a museum with medieval weapons and armor. Looks kinda like your steel armor from the town rampage. You climb the Empire State Building, visit the Statue of Liberty(climbing up the side with hardlight), and buy two 3DS'es in Times Square. You chose Torchic in the Pokemon game, while Brandon chooses Mudkip.

You return to the room, no immaculate and shining. Dropping off the souvenirs in your rooms, you sit down in front of the TV. Flipping to the news, you notice that a large amount of the local news is made up of propaganda. CNN says that LA has started to be conquered by an Epic with fire powers. Snowblower-sorry, Snowfall, is gaining more and more Epics to his empire.

A knock on the door echos through the rooms, and you jump up to get it. A peek through the peephole has a distorted view of a man with a dark green suit and powder blue accents.
>Open the door, say what?
>>
>>36354615
Ah You must be General, good to make your acquaintance sir.
>>
>>36354615
Open the door and allow them in
>>
>>36354615
"There had better be a call girl standing behind you."
>>
You open the door, looking around the large man. "There had better be a call girl behind you"

The man smiles, chuckling slightly. "May I come in?"

"Of course sir." you say, moving to t he side to let him through.

He walks in, looking around the suite, looking for anything out of place. He spots your dining table, lain out with another feast for the three people. You sit on the side, across from Brandon. The green suited Epic sits at the head of the table.

"Now, we were wondering why two Epics came to your city. Our notes say that you would be a candidate for joining our police force, and your brother could be used for powering the city. Now, I'm sure you have many questions about the city and what these jobs would entail. Ask away, I'll try to explain as well as I can. If you decline your positions, we could find new one or have you leave the city. As Epics, you of course have the choice.
>Ask What?

>>
>>36354999
Hours, pay, holiday, type of things that policing involves and powering the city

what do you do how do you like it hear tell the plan the vision I am still pretty new to this epic thing is there any programs to help build/control our powers?

>>36355120
Best not show that much weakness around the kid and our prospective boss.
>>
>>36355162
We can show as much weakness as we want.

I mean really, what do we have to fear?
>>
>>36355162
Weakness is different from potential.
>>
>>36355191
>>36355203
But Most epics are assholes, we show any perceived weakness to them they will exploit it. just ask for training but not that new to this spaghetti.

but we don't want to seam like a threat

>>36355232

these people are the nicest we have seen since going epic we could really use friends lets be as nice as posible
>>
>>36355265
Epics are always a threat and the loom over us, they see us as meat right now nothing more or less. Weak meat gets thrown to the grinder. They respect us so far because we have a solid power set, we lose that we are toast.
>>
>>36355291
>Weak meat

Do they know we can absorb other people's powers?

Because if they don't know that it places us in a much better position.
>>
>>36355291
yea about that our plan is keep our head down we defiantly are not week
>>
>>36355329
They don't
>>
>>36355329
They don't. They also don't know about vector control.
>>
>>36355329
They don't know about our power steal and vectors. We kept those as aces for when the chips our down. Still presenting a composed if a bit inexperienced front is best. If they think we're bumblers we'll get sat in as a beat cop. No more epic steals then.
>>
>>36355385
>No more epic steals then

No, but it does put us in a better position.

If they treat us like fodder they give us the opportunity to attack personal enemies and other Epics opposed to their rule. Power buffet, and no one's the wiser.

And having an insider into the city's power distribution center gives us an insane amount of leverage.
>>
>>36355385
we want to be a beat cop who gets sent in first beat cops that's were we want to be

>>36355448
>>36355420

Right. Join the enforcer branch of whatever passes for Epic government.

We want to be kneebreakers.

"All good questions, I had the same ones when I joined. All officers, did I mention that? You'll be commanding a team of normals. Anyway, it's a lot like the military. Room and board is covered, and you receive four thousand a month for spending money. Most of the time, you're free to live how you like. But you are on call most of the month. Weekends off, a week of sick days, but with your powers you want need them. When you're needed, you will be leading a group of men ranging from ten to thirty in number. If there is a rouge Epic, or we expand the rule, you'll be called in. You'll work with other Epics if needed, though not often.

As for you, Master Brandon, you'll have a much lighter workload. Four hours a day, Monday through Friday. The rest of the time, will be free or schooling. I forgot to mention that, we have an excellent school for younger Epics and a collage if you wish to continue your studies. Your brother will attend from 9 to 1, then to the power station until 5. At the station, he'll be charging batteries that will store his power. The electricity will be used for mech suits, lights, and anything needed. A thousand dollars a month, and both of your salaries will be paid in gold.

Anything else?

The three Epics pick up the silverware, passing the plates of meat and salad bowls around in a small triangle. Like last night, you eat an absurd amount of of food. The General introduces himself as Adaptor, making no mention of his powers. He does show off a bit, opening his mouth wider than what you thought possible to eat a turkey leg. However, it could just be that his jaw is double-jointed.

He answers all of your questions, along with mentioning a few tips and advice. He says that you will attend the Academy, where you will learn to lead a team of non-Epics. He also says to go to Fifth street for anything a man needs. Brandon wants to know what that meant, but the two of you change the subject to Brandon's schooling.

At around nine, after nursing cups of coffee, Adaptor gets up to leave. He shakes hands with you, then Brandon, and exits off the balcony. As he falls, a string of webbing comes out of his arm and attaches to the building.

You call up a hotel worker, having him clean up the dining room. You go to bed, after battling Brandon on the 3DS. It's a close battle, but he wins when his Shroomish KO's your Lotad. After that, he gets up to go to his room.

You wake up, the clock reading 7:43. You put on a set of clothes, a blue T-shirt with black jeans with a grey and white jacket. You leave a note to Brandon, reminding him to go to school. You drive your Smart car(gayyyyyyyy!) to the Academy, a new marble, steel and glass building on the northern side of Central Park.

You enter the short, wide building and stand in the entrance. Green marble floors and pillars are accented by golden wood bookshelves, likely filled with books from the New York library. An ebony desk holds an old Hispanic woman, a computer and a pile of papers on the desk.

You walk up to the desk, waiting for the woman to look up. You wait for a few minutes, while she types away at the computer. Finally, you knock on the wood. As you're not used to super strength, the wood dents beneath your knuckle.

The woman looks up at you, and mutters:; "Four minutes. Good time. Patient, not like some. Good leader." As she talks, her fingers rapidly type on the keyboard.

"Hi, I'm Zach. Adaptor sent me to join the classes for Epics. If you can give me a class schedule and a map, I would be very grateful."

"Yes, of course. You'll want to go down the right hallway, then enter the second door on the left. Class starts in five minutes." The old woman presses a button, and the printer whirrs to life. Two papers exit, one with a schedule and a list of subjects, the other being a map of the campus. Oddly, it's split into two with what looks like two stories. It's a one story building. On the back of the paper, is a map of the Central Park. Are those bunkers and pill boxes?

You walk down the hallway, then slip into the classroom. A lecture hall with recliner-like seats and flip-up desks greets you, in tiers like a theater. Students are dressed in garish colors, talking in clumps. In the back, near the corner, are people in black and red clothes. Up front, are people in white, blue and gold. The middle rows have a scattering of all kinds of color, looking like it was painted by a colorblind man

In the front, next to a Smartboard and whiteboards, is a man in Navy dress whites. He's standing at attention, behind a podium. It's 7:56

You walk down the stairs, passing through each clump of Epics. Many of them look up at the newcomer, then start talking amongst themselves. You only catch snatches of the conversation, but many are of the same line of though.

"Whose the new guy?"
"Damn, he's tall"
"Wonder what his powers are"
"Bet it's strength, he looks ripped"

You reach the floor, green marble that must have heating coils because it's warm. The professor looks over at you, already knowing your question. Still, you ask it anyway.

"Hello, I'm Zachary. I just joined up. Whats with the colors?"

Nice to meet you, Zachary. I am Professor Messageboard. You will address me as Professor, not Prof, not IM, not anything else. Professor. As for the colors, students are like birds. They clump together, changing their plumage and song to match each other. The whites are mainly healers, hardlight, and gifters. The black have more violent powers, fire and earth bending, energy blasts, ect. Everyone else sticks to the middle ground, mingling freely with both groups. You nod to the Professor, then start climbing the steps. Spotting an empty recliner/desk near the center, you pass three Epics to reach it. On your left is a male Epic who looks like he's 20ish, dressed in shades of green and with golden jewelry. Instead of a jacket, he has a green leather vest over a darker green longsleeve, covered in golden scales. His red hair is short, gelled into a small wave with gold flecks in the gel.

On your right, is a short(for an Epic) black haired woman who looks around your age. She's dressed in dark blue and grey, with long golden hair in a ponytail. On or in her ears, are small silver earrings with only blue sapphires. She's leaning over the desk, while the male Epic is reclined and wearing headphones.

Okay class, shut up and put away your phones. Eric, stop hiding that phone. I'm blind, but I'm not stupid. Please take out your notes, and be sure to remember the upcoming project. Zach, you are except from turning it in. I would suggest you start on it Samantha, it's due on Friday."

The man lectures on about the use of mechs and armored vehicles in combat, mentioning a few of the advanced weapons they have. Epic sensing missiles, laser cannons, and AA guns with smart bullets. You type up notes on what seems important, looking over at your neighbor's screens from time to time.

Now class, please form teams of four for PE, I would suggest getting someone who can fly if you can. You have two minutes.

>>
>>36357944

>>36358066
There's no point. We already told everyone we have steel manipulation, super strength, invulnerability, and regen.

The only powers we're hiding are vectors and power stealing.
>>
>>36357944
Talk to the 2 next to us, ask if they want to form up a team. Also introduce yourself. Ask if they have the ability to fly too.
>>
>>36358112
When did we tell them? they seem like they didn't know what powers we had when we walked in
>>
>>36358157
The other students don't teacher and boss do. We told em during registration.
>>
>>36357944
We should approach one white and one black to get an even mix of powers.

Let's hide what we can really do for now. We can fake flying, with careful use of vectors, but we don't want to show off everything we can do just yet. Keep them guessing. Knowing the egos on Epics, there'll be at least one, probably in the black-and-red crowd, who wants to 'show the new kid who is boss'. Let him think we're just metal-and-strength for now.
>>
>>36358157
We didn't tell these students specifically, but we did tell the city people when we came in. It's the entire reason the officer position got suggested. There's no point in lying to the other students.
>>
>>36358181
We're going to act like the stereotypical tanks (regen, invulnerability, sstr) with metal bending. We don't even need vectors if we can metal surfboard.
>>
>>36358206
I'm so down for vector assisted silver surfer.
>>
>>36358206
... Valid point. Let them think we're the linebacker. Keep our best tricks in reserve.
>>
>>36358253
Try it without vectors though they don't know we have it and some might be able to sense it. Secret weapon for a reason. Still failing metal surfboard we can always do the sstr leap moves.
>>
>>36358289
Eh, we're not that strong at the moment. Only barely above human maximum. Not like we can jump all that high.
>>
>>36358315
half ton still gets us moving fast and we don't need to jump high, just jump far.
>>
>>36358349
We need to see about getting some sap gloves. Sturdy gloves with pouches packed with lead dust. And some solid steel-reinforced hiking boots. We can then use vectors on THOSE and it'll just look like we're using our metal-bending powers to push them faster. Telekinetic-assisted-exercise.
>>
You look over at the two people next to you, sizing them up. "You guys want to team up? Can either of you fly?" You ask, and are greeted by a a nod from goldie and the girl shaking her head. "Okay, thats good. I'm Zachary by the way."
"Daniel"
"Sydney"

"Nice to meet you. What powers you got? I have invulnerability, regeneration, super strength, and can metal bend."
"I can fly and shoot energy beams." The gold clad guy says.
"Waterbending, making gemstones, and super speed." Says Sydney.

By now, you only have about a minute. A few people stand off alone, looking for a team. A girl in black and red is in the back, a brown haired girl in the front, and two guys in the middle. One is in purple, the other in teal and dark blue.

You guys are boring, you should just kill everyone in the room. You can do it pretty easily too, seeing as you can slow down the velocity of thigns within 15 yards. LITERALLY ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS STOP THEIR HEARTS, AND RUPTURE THEIR STERNUMS.
Afterwards, explode all the desks into their faces.

Also, that's probably god mode right after. There's bound to be a teleporter, so after that just teleport to another classroom and repeat.

"Hey guys, give me a minute." you say, then walk down a few steps and to the left. You tap on the girl's shoulder. She looks up at you, turning to face you.

"Hey, you looking for a team? I'm Zach. Nice to meet you." You reach out and shake the woman's hand. Looks like she's sixteen or seventeen. She grabs your hand, shaking it up and down.
"Artemis. Sure, lets team up. I can heal you if you need it, and can make hardlight and flames." The two of you walk up to the rest of your team, everyone introducing themselves.

"Okay people, looks like your all paired up. Check the board for your assignments, each team is listed by last names." You find your name on the board, next to three others in a line. How the hell did he type the list up so fast? "We'll be in the park today, try not to kill any civilians. Each team will have a flag, the more flags you collect the higher your score. You'll have two hours to fight, if you loose all your flags you are out of the exercise. There are bunkers and pillboxes scattered on the land, use them. We'll have healers on hand, but that doesn't mean you have free reign. No killing! If you do, your pay will be docked for two weeks."

"Go!"

The class funnels out of the room, into the park. An assistant hands you a flag, bright yellow and red.

You hand the flag to Sydney, who encases it with blue crystal. Frozen in crystal, the flag is a bit heavier and unwieldy. For Sydney however, its easy. She forms blue diamond-like armor around her torso, attaching the flag to her back.

"Okay guys, lets head to the playground, then the pond. I'll make an island in the center out of steel and embed the flag inside it. Once its in there, Daniel and Artemis defend it. sydney and I'll go off to steal flags. If we get any, we'll put them with our flag in the island. Let's go!" The four of you take off, Daniel jumping into the air and circling with other flyers above the teams. All of the teams split up, trying to get away from the herd.

Sydney rushes ahead, her outline blurring as she runs. She makes it to the playground before all of you, though you are in third place after Daniel. Once there, you pull all of the rebar and metal to form thick armor around you, like the armor in Colorado. Without the steel supports, the playground collapses. In steel, you now have an excuse to use your vectors. You jump over trees, soaring next to Daniel for a moment. At the pond, you dive into the water.

You hold your breath, closing the metal into an airtight suit. You open your eye, walking along the muddy pond floor. You pull up the iron sands from the bottom, collecting more metal for the island. You form the majority of the metal into a mushroom, with a hollow in the center. You swim upwards, powerful muscles letting you swim with a mass of steel around you. Crawling onto the island, you wait for your team to get across the water. Sydney places the crystal-covered flag in the hollow, which you close up around the flag.

Your team stands or hovers on the metal mushroom, which you add ridges to for traction. Once everyone is set up and a bell rings, you can steal the flags.

>>
>>36359963

Flyer is on defense with healer/light/fire girl.
So we need to metalbend a board like silver surfer and try to find a fight around the bodies of water. FAiling that get their attention and have her yoink it via superspeed.
>>
>>36359725
I think Sydney and Artemis should stay here and defend. Sydney can make an exo-shell , opening and closing holes for Artemis to flamethrower out of. Anyone gets too close, she can waterbend and smack them down, drag them to the bottom of the lake and give them just enough air to stay put. Artemis can reinforce the crystal shell with Hard Light if someone comes in heavy-hitting, and we don't want our healer in the field.

Daniel can fly and shoot energy, he's air superiority and recon. He finds the hiding spots, we juggernaut-in with our metal armor, scoop the flag, hand it off, and he runs it back while we distract.

Also, consider curling up into a fetal position in a backpack-structure and using the 'armor' as a puppet-body, instead of 'wearing' it to our shape. Let people aim for head shots and body blows, or try to kneecap us, we're curled up in back.

"Everyone, trade phone numbers and put on bluetooth. Set each other for speed dial. Call someone if you need help. Daniel, you and me are going out. Circle round to look for anyone with a flag. Wait. Move in a oval shape or something. Don't stay over our spot incase someone is looking." You say, then Daniel rockets upwards. He shoots up fifteen or so stories, then circles around the park. A few other flyers are near him open fire, but he dodges the attacks skillfully.

"Artemis, Sydney, stay here and guard the flag. Do what you think is necessary, but stay inconspicuous. I'm going out with Daniel to get a flag. see you soon."

You form a thin rounded rectangle under your feet, with metal clamping down on your feet like a snowboard. Vectoring up, you join Daniel in the sky. He hovers next to you, as you wobble in the air. This is very, very high up.

"First time upstairs Zach? You'll get used to it soon. Now, I spotted two guys circling on different parts of the park. Good thinking, I wouldn't have though about changing my flight pattern. Anyway, the closest one is in the castle. Lets go there first."

The two of you start on the way to the castle, secretly using vectors to keep up with him.You circle round the castle grounds, thankful that the the flyer left already. Three Epics are in a triangle, standing next to the castle's tallest tower
>What do?
>>
>>36360712
Make any metal under them not be there anymore, and use that to confine them in any way possible
>>
>>36360712
See if there is rebar in the castle walls. Reach out with it to headlock/handcuff the three. No need to go in heavy if we can cuff them and walk out with their flag.

Also, if we can subdue one or two, take their clothes. If we swap clothes, people won't be able to tell what powers we have.
>>
>>36360815
I like it all but taking clothing

>>36360815

>>
>>36360844
Why? They've all color-coded themselves. We bring back some black-and-reds for the girls to wear, and everyone ill assume we left our flag with a pair of blasters, not shield-generators. Put some whites on Daniel and people will assume that he's just a scout and not a threat. That one second of hesitation and confusion when a 'medic' hits you with an energy blast or a 'blaster' encases you in a crystal prison can be a huge advantage.
>>
>>36361039
i dont like taking peoples clothing its creepy
>>
>>36361039
Embarrassing them will make them enemies. One or two might come at us directly, but the rest would shaft us when we're beat up and weak.
>>
>>36360712
Tell Daniel to shoot a few fireballs at them and get ready to react to their conterattack
>>
You reach a finger up to call Daniel, who answers on the first ring.

"Hello?" He asks, panicky.

"Just me Dan. I'll try and distract them, you look for the flag. Probably in the tower, go through a window. Hang back until I say go."

You shift the metal over your body, the cold steel making a thin coat over you. You drop like a stone, swooping at the castle. One of the Epics fires off a blast of lightning, missing by only a fraction of an inch. You drop farther down, slamming into the stone wall. You vector to stop yourself, coming to a halt as you hang on the wall. You form a rod of steel, depleting your steel. You jab it into the stone, creating a lightning rod.

Not to late, as a black covered Epic fires a branch of electricity at you. It catches on the rod, grounding on the rock wall. You form the tip of the rod into a dull crescent, then launch it at the man. It wraps around his arm, then curls around into a ring. He stumbles, falling forward, off the wall.

"Go"

You let him fall, then at the last moment, stop his movement. He hovers an inch above the shore, then drops as you release him. He lands half in the water, the other half leaning against the wall. You form a set of metal restraints, locking his hands in the wall and a weight of steel round his legs. As long as he doesn't try to escape, he should be fine.

The two other Epics are leaning over the wall, then move away from the edge. One looked like he was in white, the other in purple. You see Daniel flying around the back, heading for the window. He alights on the sill, then vanishes from sight.

All they have left is healer/shields and an unknown.

>We Gojira now. Form the remaining metal into a paper-thin puppet, as big as possible, of a big monster head. We stick it up over the edge and make it roar. That'll bait them into responding so we can see what their powers are without them aiming at us directly. Then we mule-kick through the wall into the floor beneath them and drop them down, then lock them up with the same metal-cuffs trick.
>>
You peal all the metal off your skin, forming a curved shield over your head. You wait a moment, then start changing the metal. First, a hollow draconic arm with as intricate details as possible. You raise it up, below the Epics' line of sight. You have it reach up, grabbing onto the wall.

A cry goes out, followed by a blast of energy.

it tears through the thin metal, ionizing it. The remains are captured by a glowing yellow ball, and pulled towards the Epics.

Lasers, good to know.

You steel yourself, drawing a few pieces of girder between holes in the wall, careful to maintain it's structural integrity. You jump up, a polished metal shell forming. You launch heavy blunt rods as a distraction, and climb over the parapets.

"THE TEAM CONTAINING SCOOBY WERKSTATT, STEVEN KOZINAKI, FAITH JAMES, AND BARBRA CRUIZE HAVE LOSE THEIR FLAG. PLEASE HALT YOUR FIGHT AND REPORT TO THE LECTURE HALL."

The energy beams stop, and you drop your metal clubs. A man cusses above you, then calls out.

"Good job sneaking around us. See you tomorrow."
>Say anything?

You climb up the wall, looking at the team you just beat. Making sure that they won't attack, you pull more steel out of the castle. Forming thick armor around you, you make a steel snowboard and fly up into the air. A voice in your ear calls to you, and is recognizable as Daniel.

"Got the flag, flying it to our base. Meet up above the big lake."

As you fly, you spot a small clearing with two people in it, along with a spot of yellow and red. In the distance, a few beams are being fired off from the Great Hill and the lake near it is frozen over in the center.

"Worked with what we had, good game guys." You call out, then do a double take on the guy in white. Bald, check. Old, check. Wearing a silly hat, check. Is that Scooby? Gonna have to talk more with him later.

You fly up as possible, higher than everyone else. Battles are going on across the park, with random beams piercing the sky.

"Daniel, checking in. How are things at base?"

"Shit! Huh? Oh, sorry Zach. We got two fliers on use and some chick that can make golems. Flag we stole is under the 'shroom, Sydney attached it cause we couldn't get through the steel. Get here pronto. Or go looking for their flag, think its with their other teammate nearby."

You start flying, using vectors to go as fast as possible. Three flying Epics are above your base, Daniel recognizable with his gold scale vest. On the ground, is a girl with two shambling golems made of loam. Off on the other shore, is a women sitting with a red and yellow splotch next to her.

You drop down from your extreme height, plummeting past Daniel and one of the opposing fliers. You send a rod out at him using vectors, slow and blunt so it doesn't kill him. You leave it to fall to the lake, unknowing if it hit the flier. You keep going, easing off slowly as you near the lake.

You hit the water, sinking deep in a flurry of white bubbles. You sink deep underwater, landing on the floor like an olde time diver. Holding your breath again, you make your way along the muddy bottom. You make the suit of armor more streamlined, tentacles and spikes making a smooth surface. You walk up the pond's slope, steps raising murk into the water.

Once you start to run out of air, you form a short snorkel that reaches an inch above water. Following the slope, you shorten it until you are close to the surface. You crawl on all fours, not the most dignified, but it gets you into the reeds and cattails. From the cover of plants, you raise up out of the water to peer at the woman.

Sitting on the shore, with her bare feet in the cool water, the woman is holding the flag. The red and yellow cloth obscures her, but leaves her golden tank-top visible. She looks longingly over at the mushroom, playing with her brown hair. Something seems off about her, but you can't put your finger on it.

You fire a liquid metal glob at the woman, wrapping around her legs. Then she flickers out of existence.

She reappears, this time surrounded by fire and lightning. Odd, the chick lost the flag. And she keeps flickering as she looks around.

You make as many small particles of steel, filling the air around you. You fire the dust in a solid cloud, passing it back and forth across the shore. It passes through the woman, shattering her into colored dots.

An illusionist. Great.

You swing the dust farther afield, reaching the trees. There she is! Hiding in the undergrowth of the forest, is a girl in a gold tank-top. Next to her, is a flag. You sprint towards her, two bowling balls of metal suspended over your shoulders. You fire one at her legs, catching on the solid flesh.

She falls, trying to crawl away. The heavy steel weighs her down, and with a though forms into a hooked plow. The steel sinks into the soft earth, then catches and stops the girl. She disappears, but the lump of metal is still present.

You ignore the girl, and grab the flag.

"THE TEAM CONTAINING WYATT SILVERMAN, KEITH BURNSIDE, SAMANTHA BLACK, AND ANNE HALMAR HAVE LOSE THEIR FLAG. PLEASE HALT YOUR FIGHT AND REPORT TO THE LECTURE HALL."

The two fliers stop, hover, then fly off into the distance at the Academy. You release the woman, who starts walking back to lecture hall.

You pull the metal back into the armor, and fly to the mushroom. Opening up the cage, you place the two flags deeper in the metal. You shatter the crystal holding the flag to the mushroom with a steel hammer, and place it with it's brothers in the hollow.

You press a button with a metal tendril on your bluetooth, calling Daniel down from the sky. He lands on the mushroom, making it vibrate slightly.

"Good job Sydney. Thanks for the support against Keith, always hated him. Too damn fast. " Daniel says.

"Nice thinking with Sam, she's annoying when you're in a small space. A few weeks ago, we were in the catacombs for paintball. She kept making it look like a tunnel was a dead end, and we didn't have maps to check it against." Artemis says, looking over at you.

You sit on the mushroom, making chairs for everyone, and talk for a few minutes while Artemis heals Daniel. Over by the museum, an explosion rocks the air. A cloud of birds rise out of the trees, frightened by the boom. Then they swerve, curving in a mass towards the museum. Sydney mutters something about Nathan, who can control animals.
>What do?
>Head to there reservoir

This is weird. I expected the exact opposite outcome.

Who you want to go? Remember that there are two teams there

Take Sydney the speedster same tactics but she speeds through instead of flying. Of course have the guys call us the moment they get hit, if it happens before we hit the museum we hit the lake instead.

what is the art museum made out of?

"Sydney, why don't you and me go to the museum. I'll draw their attention, then you run in for the flags. Daniel, go up and keep an eye out for anyone coming for the to steal the flags. Message us if you need help, set a conference call for us so we don't need to dial. Any advice, since this is my first day, I shouldn't really be making all the plans"

Sydney lays her hand on your arm, crystal armor glittering in the sunlight. "You're doing fine Zach. You got us two flags, and we're in the top three! My first day, I got shot right out of the gate." The black haired beauty smiles up at you, batting her eyelashes. "Lets go before Nathan gets the flags."

The two of you run to the museum, Sydney going slow so you can keep up. You absorb as much steel from the mushroom, leaving a thin top anchored to the bottom. You vector and jump, getting a few stories of air with each leap.

You stop in the forest's edge, forming a hunchbacked golem where you form the hunch. Thick, rounded columns form limbs, four arms and two legs. Three stubby fingers form claws like a one of those claw machines at arcades. You stick your head out, into the stomach of the beast. Two eyes stare out from the floating ribs, a part of it carved away so you have peripheral vision.

In the museum, smoke curls out of the west wing, through a shattered skylight. The marble stairs are scarred by force, a large chunk missing from the right side. Sydney stands next to you, blue crystals forming torso armor, a helmet, and two thin blades encasing her hands.
>What do?

>>36365351
Approach slowly gathering as much steel as you can and go silver surfer to scout the area more
>>
>>36365351
Move slowly, keeping watch for any threats.

We need to study photon physics, so we can make the equivalent of a periscope out of these things.

"Follow behind me, be ready to fight if I get shot."

The woman moves behind you, sheltering from any blasts. You flatten the metal out a bit, creating a wider area for Sydney to shelter in. You pull up a bit of steel from the ground, leaving the stone in front of you solid. You lumber up the stairs unharmed, then punch the door open with two fists.

The rooms empty, filled with marble and copper statues. One is vaguely familiar, though it's hard to tell where it's from. It's just a naked dude with a dead lion or something. Built like an Epic, but it looks fairly old. You turn down the right wing, following the smoke. A few paintings line the walls, darkened by smoke and dust. You pull a piece of art into your mass, forming it into tentacles and spines.

A blast of flames shoots at you, hitting the head of your golem. It heats it red-hot, contracting violently. A female Epic in orange jumps down from the second floor, scorching the white marble floor.

You detach one of the pillar-like arms, firing it straight at the Epic woman. She blasts it with flame, making it glow. You shoot forward, trying to grab the woman. She leaps out of the way, blasting upwards with flame. She flips over you, a bright wheel of fire.

Sydney closes her fist, forming a crystal in the air. The fire Epic slams into the hunk of diamond, stopping in the air. Tendrils of crystal grow from the seed crystal, latching onto the woman. One encircles the Epic's throat, a glittering noose. It grow thicker, closing off the woman's windpipe.

...
...
...

You fire a thick piece of steel at the crystal, shattering it. The fire Epic gasps of air, her face loosing it's purple tint. Sydney looks over at you, feral, then regrows crystal around the the woman's torso. She lowers it, gently, to the floor. The fire Epic struggles against her shining bonds, blasting the blue crystal until it changes to black near her hands.

Holy shit I didn't realize you were Sequoia.

You've drastically improved from your pokemon quest, man.
>>
>>36366264
Thanks. Modern setting helps, don't have to think like a person in the middle ages. How are you liking the new quest?
>>
>>36366198so whats fire chick look like ?
black white asian?

also whats with Sydney ?
>>
>>36366308
It got me listening to the Steelheart audiobook.

For some reason, I was thinking that it was one of the kids books Sanderson wrote. Now it almost seems like it could fit in with his Cosmere setting.

Anyways, I like the quest, even if I mostly lurk.
>>
>>36366336
Fire chick is filipino, maybe? The crystals and flames kinda make it hard to see, but you'd say filipino if there was a gun to your head

Sydney's an Epic, most are kinda crazy. its also that time of the month
>>
>>36366426
Will we get a chance to know the rest of our class better?
>>
>>36366541
yeah, you don't have to partner up with the same people every time. You'll probably have two or three more threads in school, one or two working under an officer to learn the ropes, then on to being a full officer

Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't try to kill someone. A buffet of powers, and they only cost two weeks pay
>>
>>36366605
unlike murderhobo dude from earlier I can wait for new powers
also finding out what all our classmates can do first then putting ourselves in a better position to kill/steal powers without drawing attention

she also wants the Z pretty damn bad if I'm reading her right, shouldn't be surprised though. It was Inevitable
>>
>>36366700
Good to know. Murderhobos are boring to play and write, as they don't allow character development. At least, thats been my experience.
>>
>>36366758
exactly, plus how would we plan our new world order and acquire minions if we spent all day murderhoboing
>>
>>36366756

There's no point in building a bad reputation for ourselves right now. All of these people are potential allies or minions.
>>
>>36366834
Well I don't want to STEAL your thunder, figured you be INVULNERABLE to them by now. Guess you'll just have to STEEL yourself til we can choose a VECTOR
I'm done, night Calamity
>>

Night, see you soon
>>
>>36366981
I'm still rooting for our plan to become the "Nice Epic." Fighting for what's good for us, dispensing our own justice, and giving all our fallen comrades their final rights and stealing powers. when the world trusts us it makes the Inevitable new world order that much sweeter
>>
>>36366605
i figured some one was going to die in this next bit
also that would probley make us a target
>>
>>36366605
Killing at this point is counter-productive.
1: It would make us a target for other students.
2: It would put us on a watch list from the Epics in charge.
3: The secretary earlier tested us, tested our patience. You think the higher-ups aren't watching this? We need the common folks to see us as the 'nice' Epic, but we need the bosses to see us as the Sensible Epic. That'll fast-track us to promotion.
