Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

But damn, its fun.

You are Zachary Zelnacki, newly formed Epic. Two months ago, super-powered people rose from the wea-I mean normal. Yeah, normal. You have the ability to control vectors, allowing you to change the speed and direction of any solid object within 15 yards(13 meters). You are also inhumanly tough, able to shrug off small caliber weapons. Finally, and perhaps most important, you are able to absorb powers from dead Epics, if you touch them within ten minutes of death.

You witnessed an Epic fight in the local Middle school, and absorbed the power of steel manipulation and regeneration. You then uploaded the video of the battle and bought a Glock. Finally, you check around town for anything of interest. You see a poster about an Epic in Sacramento, read about a trio of Epics that took over New York City, and learned about LA.

You went on the road, driving to New York. In Colorado, a blockade forces you to pull over. After killing two men, the militia is able to handcuff you. Put into a large execution machine, open to the public. Who were there in large numbers, unluckily for them. Fearing for your your life, your powers fly out of control. Forming a metal shell around yourself, a rampage ensues. Nearly 20% of the town's population later, you reach your car. You fall into a fitful sleep, full of flashing lights, pleas for mercy, spraying blood, and a feeling of overpowering strength.
1/?
>>
You loot the town, breaking into a large house with an RV out front. Within the house, you eat breakfast and meet Brandon. The eight year old Epic joins you, bringing his pets along for the ride. It turns out that his parents were preppers, with bug out bags, a collection of weaponry, and an RV tricked out for going innawoods. The two(four counting the pets) of you drive cross-country, eventually being funneled into Nashville.

You escape the KKK controlled city, killing three Epics with the help of Brandon and the RV's heavy weaponry. You absorb two powers, super strength and invulnerability. Outfitted with new powers, you continue to New York. A checkpoint in the Brooklyn tunnel has you sent to a hotel to wait for an officer in the Epic army. You and Brandon order a feast of room service, jumpstarting the American economy.

A general in NYC's Epic army recruits you and your "brother" to the corps. Free schooling, room and board, a great 401K, free healthcare, and two weeks paid vacation are included in your benefits package. Brandon will be going to school with other Epic children, then work in the power plant for a few hours a day. You go to the Academy, sitting in the middle of the lecture hall. You team up with three other Epics for a training exercise. Working with them, you capture two flags from other Epics' teams. You and Sydney rush to the art museum, where Sydney captures a filipino Epic with fire powers.

>Base Powers

Power Stealing(II): The ability to absorb the last power a dead Epic used. Can hold four powers at once, absorbed powers have sixty percent strength. Must touch dead Epic within twelve minutes of their death.

Invulnerability(II): Rifle shots(.223, .30, 5.56) along with buckshot near useless against you. Bruises, but most won't enter the body. Pistols might as well be a guy throwing pebbles at you. Watch out of heavier rounds, though.

Vector manipulation(I): You are able to change the vector of objects, making a piece of gravel punch through steel. Blows that you are expecting can be diverted. A range of twenty yards.
>Stolen Powers

Steel Manipulation(I): The ability to move, bend, liquify, and shape various types of steel. Must use existing steel, range of fifty yards.

Regeneration(I): You now heal at a much higher rate, scrapes scabbing over in a minute, deep wounds heal in a day.

Super Strength(I): You are above and beyond an Olympic athlete. Lift half a ton, squat half a ton, bench seven hundred pounds. All this, and you never look any bigger than a normal Epic

You might want to tack on a (Next Level: ____ XP) at the end of the power descriptions in the future.
>>
XP costs for reference

Power Stealing(III): 1200. Lets you copy five powers at once, at 70% power at absorption(you have regen&steel at 60% power).
Invulnerability(III): 1100. Get shot by a HMG and keep coming. Even large rifle rounds and shotgun slugs just knock the wind out of you. Explosives and tanks are a problem still.
Regeneration(II): 400 or absorb another regen power. Makes wounds scab over in a minute and deeper wounds take a few hours to be almost healed. Don't tear your stitches, though, in a day you are fine. Must keep brain intact
Steel Manipulation(II): 400 or absorb another regen power. Lets you control more steel from a farther range. Allows for high limited iron manipulation, but iron control is much weaker
Vector Control(II): 600. Upgrades max speed(50mph to 60mph). Heavier things and items lightly rooted in the ground can be moved. WIth lots of practice, can allow for a double jump.
Super Strength(II): 600. Doubles your power. Lift or squat a ton, bench half a ton. When lifting things, they won't break from having the weight all on two hands.

heh.

Anyway, can we upgrade Base powers by stealing other people's powers?
>>
>>36374047
but up grading power stealing ups all stolen powers it ups a bit and gives us more to take it what we should save for unless we are expecting life and death fight soon.

we want to maintain a low profile and upgrading a power we didn't tell them about wouldn't help us do that.

Yeah, I kinda saw that after I posted. I meant Minmaxing in an economic sense. Getting the most possible upgrade out of your points, as opposed to upgrading only what you need.
>>
>>36374378
To be fair, if MC can make gravel hit through steel, he should be able to stop a punch completely, not just divert it, or at least make it meaningless, especially with invulnerability.
>>
>>36374479
those are both examples of the same thing

its like saying

True, more cost efficient. But this isn't about eating food, it's about picking which will be most useful and eating that. Our powers, in order of dinner usefulness, are Italian, Mexican, Chinese, leftovers, and frozen barettoo
>>
>>36374229

>>
>>36374565
Subtle differences. Let me rephrase, then. It's not about cost efficiency, it's about practicality.
>>
>>36374601
but not for how we have been playing and planing to do with the MC.

The order would be more Power Stealing,Invulnerability,Super Strength Steel Manipulation Vector manipulation, then , Regeneration.

look we don't want to make it noticeable we can do more than we said we could, till we are strong enough to not give a fuck. to get there we need Power Stealing(and keep it under raps)
Invulnerability ( so it looks like we are improving at a normal rate like the rest of the Epics, and don't get ganked.)

then Steel Manipulation cause its the flashest power we got that they know about

"Chill out Diana. You know you can't melt crystals, you'll just wasting my time." Sydney says to the struggling Epic. She looks over at you, "She's so hot headed, never knows when to stop fighting."

You reform the metal armor, pulling the steel from the ground back to form your lower left arm. You shift positions, standing in the center of the golem. You reform the head, giving it a frog mouth helmet style. You form the chest into a hollow, a snorkel coming out the back and eyeholes in the chest. Sydney embeds the Epic in more diamond, sending tendrils into the marble floor.

The pair of you continue down the hall, turning into the different galleries. An abstract painting covers one of the walls, of a blue line. Thats it. Just a line.

*Bzzzzz*

*Bzzzzz*

*Bzzzzz*

"What's that noise... Damnit Nathan, not the bees again." Sydney says, growing more armor over her skin.

A sandy haired Epic steps out from behind the doorway. He's dressed in yellow, brown, and black. Behind him, a cloud of darkness buzzes.

You lengthen the upper arms on your armor, widening into tower shields. You charge forward, hoping to catch hold of the Epic. He sends the bees forward, heading to your helmet. You hollow it out, letting them fill the space. Once most of them are in the helmet, you fold the lip up.

The metal bursts open at the top, a cloud of bees flying out of the corroded metal.

"Nathan can change animals! Don't let them sting you." Sydney says, then muttered, "Fucker made me think I was a tree."

"You're the one that started it, shouldn't have shot my pants with water!" Nathan says, leaning against the wall and examining his nails.

You charge at the Epic, then feel a pinch in your side. Theres a hole in the metal armor above it, with a giant bee/wasp on it. It's stinger is imbedded in your side, pumping venom into your blood.

It hits like a ton of bricks, the world flashing in a plethora of colors. You look at the art, and finally understand what the blue line means. It's a symbol of our cultures increasing materialism, hinting at the nature of mankind.

Nathan's disappeared, replaced with a giant wasp. Sydney's gone too, a large crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling that touches the ground.

>>
You fire both arms at the giant wasp, letting it become two liquid arcs. They hit something, but the poison messes with your senses. The metal suit starts melting, drops falling to harden on the marble floor.

You drop to the ground, curling into a ball with thick walls of steel. You close out all stimulation, the world becoming a pitch black bubble. Something pings against the dome, and you send a claw of steel to kill it. The blades close on a large wasp, cutting it's head off.

You stay in place for two minutes, head pounding. A few wasps attack your dome, but are dispatched by claws. After a short rest, the pounding stops and you can feel the poison being neutralized.

You stand, metal streaming to make the your armor. The wasp changed back to the male Epic, and the chandelier is a hot chick again. The male Epic is covered in metal, his body cocooned to the wall.

"THE TEAM CONTAINING BURNIE BROWN, NATHAN FALKEN, SUMMER WINFOLD, AND AMBER SUI HAVE LOST THEIR FLAGS. PLEASE HALT YOUR FIGHT AND REPORT TO THE LECTURE HALL."

You look over at the cocooned Epic, who looks pissed at hearing his name. You release him, pulling the metal into your armor.

"Wait for me at the mushroom, then we'll go to the reservoir." You then turn to Nathan, "I guess it's time for you to bee going."

"Zach, stop making puns and get here." Daniel says in your ear. Nathan smiles slightly, then gets out a pad of paper. He writes a short note, then waves goodbye. Four things burst from his back, forming into clear dragonfly wings. They start buzzing, wind rising from him, and he flies out through a shattered skylight.

Sydney nods, then runs out of the museum. You fly up, passing through the skylight, then fly off to the pond. You touch down after a minute of flight, rocking the thin mushroom. You pull in all of the steel, Artemis creating hardlight platforms for everyone. You lift the flags from their hollow, placing them in your back. The rest of your group looks ready to attack, resting on solid light. Once the flags are in place, you absorb the rest of the metal.

Your armor grows thicker, a foot thick in most places. Your head is coated in six inches of steel, horns, tentacles and blades coating the helmet. Hundreds of small, three inch tentacles cover your limbs, longer ones on your sides and back. Your hands turn to claws, four inch blades on each finger.

"Lets go"

The four people in your team shoot off, each with their own powers to move. You fly up with Daniel, vectoring adding to your speed. Artemis is carried by Daniel, hanging off him with hardlight. Sydney streak through the water, then onto the land. She disappears in the trees, a blue blur. She's moving at an easy jog of a hundred mile per hour.

You fly with your team, then drop to the ground on the tennis courts. You pull in the chainlink fence, bending it into another layer of armor. On the water, is an iceberg that shouldn't be here in November. A tunnel leads into it, an Epic in lime green and yellow standing in it. An Epic circles above it, flying on a large rock.

"Sydney, Artemis, try to get rid of the iceberg. Daniel, take out the guy on the rock. I'll go into the tunnel and find the flags."
"I can't move ice, only water. Don't know why." Sydney pipes up.
"I'll hit it with fire, you get rid of the runoff. Keep the other team off me." Artemis says.

Daniel nods, then fires up into the air. He curves gently, coming down next to the flying man on a rock. You turn your attention to the lake, where Artemis is walking with Sydney on hardlight.

You curve the metal on your arms, forming into thick, serrated hooks. You launch, arching over the women on your team.

You crash into the iceberg, setting it rocking with the force. One of the blades imbeds itself in the ice, holding you in place. Spikes form on the front of the steel, making a solid wall of hooks. Your feet change, growing into spiked boots.

In the water, an Epic in lime green swims. You fire some metal to grab him, feeling it latch on the man. A twist of your wrist, and the metal cuts into the iceberg. You set him underwater, bubbles streaming from his mouth as he tries to free himself. You make a three foot tube, and wrap it against his mouth to act as a snorkel. He stops struggling, likely so he doesn't dislodge the tube.

A tunnel goes into the iceberg, curving so you can't see what lies ahead. Artemis and Sydney are on your left, gouts of flame hitting the ice. Above you, the two flying men are firing energy and stones at each other.

"Guys, over here. Get behind me, I'll be in the front."

The two women move towards you, looking down at the man underwater. Still breathing, check. Just to be safe, you pull him from underwater and cocoon him in steel. He's till breathing through a tube, a sphere of metal around his head. The air from the tube should be enough, but you poke a few holes in the ball to be sure. You fire up some steel balls at the flyer, each around the size of a marble. They hit the rock beneath the flier, breaking it into pieces. A few stone chips shower down and hit the water.

You widen the armor slightly, while sucking in the tentacles and blades. You step into the tunnel, feeling like you walked into a freezer. The women follow, Sydney in crystal armor and Artemis in just her clothes. You follow the tunnel down, the floor sloping gently. Artemis carves a small trail in the wall, a bright flame burning on her finger.

You enter a small room, the walls glistening a beautiful shade of white-blue. In a hollow, are eight flags. Next to them, are two Epics. One, a mousy girl shivering from the cold. The other is a guy in white and blue, his hands working over a small sculpture. Each pass of his hands adds a little bit of ice, like a 3D printer. A four legged animal is taking form, though it is still unclear on what it is.

But, yeah, let's search for the flag.
>>
"Ice place you got here." you say to the guy with the sculpture. Like all Epics, he has a great love of puns and cracks up.

You detach one of your arms, letting the metal form into a ball. You flatten it, making a pool table sized wall of metal that floats in the air. A blast of flame hits it, followed by a blast of cold.

The shield cracks, the rapid freezing breaking it into small pieces. You reform it, making the crack close.

The shield shoots forward, curving in like bull horns. The ice Epic rolls out of the way, coming up in a crouch to your left. He lifts his hand only to get hit in the chest by a golden cylinder. He flies backward, slamming into the wall. His eyes close for a moment, tongue lolling out. The fire chick rushes to his side, her hand glowing green. A touch, and Iceman's brown eyes open.

He fires a beam of white light at you, hitting your golem in the lower arm. The metal solidifies, frozen in place. Luckily, you're able to break it off at the shoulder. Swinging the frozen arm at the ceiling, you break a oven sized hole in the roof. Shards shower down, followed by metal shards. Still frozen and immobile.

Sydney rushes forward, crystal running spikes on her feet, heading for the flags. A blast of flame melts the ice in front of her, and is refrozen when she steps on the water. The ice creeps up her crystal armor, trapping her lower body.

You re-coat your arm in metal, thinning the rest of the armor to keep your arm covered. You extend claws at the ends of the hand, the palm merging into the wrist.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kL8R8SfuXp8

You remove a bowling ball from your armor, making it grow short spikes. You swing your arm back and forth, the wrecking ball swinging with your hand. It crashes into the side of the room, throwing up shards of ice with each impact.

The iceberg rocks with each impact, tilting to the sides. After a violent hit, the other Epics slide into a corner. You burst the ball over them, blowing a load of your liquids into the heap of limbs.

The metal creeps around together, bonds forming. Leftover metal sinks into the cracking ice, hooking the Epics to the floor.

The air freezes, mist rising from everyone's skin. A coat of white frost covers your golem, your movements growing sluggish. The bonds on the ice Epic shatter, becoming dust that cover's his clothing. The other Epic, dressed in white and gold, is still held in silver bonds.

Your teammates have removed the ice on Sydney's legs, water soaking her skinny jeans. The water freezes again, but serves only to chill the black haired women instead of trapping. The ice Epic has moved close to the flags, icicles growing into a curved wall around the flags.
>What do?
>>
>>36379823
Sydney grab the damn flags, Artemis fire at him. Phase out or golem back and send it at him while as a distraction while we go around and knock his ass out.
>>
>>36379823
Strengthen front armor and charge him
>>
>>36379823
So wait, he turned the steel to dust?

...make it form together around his head. Choke him out.
>>
Move the Ice Epic out of the way any way necessary, but being careful not to damage the flags, so no flame powers, then break the ice around the flags and claim them
>>
>Make the whole golem into a wrecking ball(level steel manip. to keep it in golem shape)
>Envelope him in the steel
>Break open the ice
>Grab the flags

Good?
>>
>>36380177
Sure, that works.
>>
>>36380177
We need to level steel manipulation to do this?..... Yeah do it, need our kayfabe powers leveled.
>>
>>36380246
You don't have enough XP, I meant that if you level it later you'll be able to control it while outside the armor. Level three to control it and use another power

Ah okay then.

You release your hold on the metal, feeling it slide past you. It holds it's form for a moment, before collapsing into a mirrored sphere. You split the sphere in half, hinging like a plastic easter egg.

A blast from the ice Epic freezes a chunk of steel, which drops to the floor. The metal continues at him, ignoring the casualty. He gets panicked slightly, firing a barrage of beams at the ball.

Lumps of steel litter the ice floor, frozen by the Epic. Still, the metal closes in on him.

The metal envelopes him, sliding up his arms. It coats him, pulling his limbs together. When its done, a silvery sarcophagus sits on the ice. You open a hole for his face, and are greeted by a string of profanities. Then you throw him into the wall.

Three hits, and a very annoyed Epic later, the wall crumbles.

Sydney walks up, crystal armor glittering, to the cage. She reaches in, and frees the flags from their icy prison. The yellow and red fabric glistens, coated in a thin film of ice.

"ALL PARTICIPENTS REPORT TO THE LECTURE HALL FOR GRADING. LUNCH WILL BE SERVED BEFORE CLASS."

You release your hold on the metal, pulling it away from the Epics. You let the steel that held the lime Epic fall to the lake bed, pooling the rest of the steel in a ball next to you. The opposite team gets up, released from their bondage. The ice Epic stands, stretching after being forced into a confined position. He walks over to you.
"Ice to meet you, I'm Andrew."

"Zachary. Your powers are pretty fucking chill"

"Heh, thanks. I've never seen someone use metal like that. Mostly, they just make swords and shit. Next game, people will be trying to copy that."

"Cool. I used it down in Tennessee. A few Epics attacked me and my brother, but we beat them."

"Wait, that was you? I read about that on fou-a website. it said that the entire road was ripped up."

"It was just a couple yards worth."

"*cough*they wanna fuck*cough*" Sydney coughs.

The five people in the iceberg exit through the tunnel, Emma(the healer) and Artemis shooting flames backwards as you go. Artemis says that professor doesn't like it when there is a lot of cleanup, so fire Epics are told to melt any ice they see.

You fashion a small boat out of metal, that holds the five of you. Once on the shore, you take it and the rest of the steel and put it in a ball at the bottom of the lake.

You walk to the lecture hall, triumphant. Dropping the flags off with Prof. Messageboard, you go back to your seat. From there, you can see the large number of people in shredded clothes and white bathrobes.

kek glad we had armor on now, we look pristine. Clothes are expensive enough as it is.
>>
The professor lectures for a half an hour, stopping at exactly 12:30. Apparently, drones were filming the whole time, as there is a highlights reel. Included is you beating Samantha(the illusionist) and the battle at the castle. The professor says this is a great use of psychological warfare, making the other team not know your power.

It ends, and the class filters out of the room. You follow your partners to the cafeteria, passing through oak double doors. Within, is an expensive restaurant setting. White tablecloths cover four man tables, with large candelabras providing light. On the tables are are large books, wait, make that menus. Each is the size of a collage textbook!

The three distinct groups split, taking clumps of tables as theirs. An army of waiters go between tables, taking orders from the Epics. All tables hold attractive people, as all Epics are attractive, but it seems tables are split somewhat by strength of powers.

You hike up the laptop bag, readjusting it's weight. A table near the door, a few rows in, is open. You walk to it, sitting in the plush leather seat. You open the menu/textbook, flipping through the pages. Its separated into four sections, with thick paper pages bound to a brown leather binding.

You open to the entree section, noticing that it takes up about a hundred and fifty pages. One of the familiar items is a hotdog, which you order three of. Three people walk up to your table from different directions, pulling out seats. Andrew sits on your right, Nathan(with a bird on his shoulder) across from you, and Sydney on your left.

They all open their menus, seemingly having memorized the page, and call over a waiter. One hurries over, and takes everyone's orders. The oddest is Nathan's, made up of a medium rare Kobe steak and three live pistol shrimp.

"How'd you like my jackets in the game? I like to keep a list of the different reactions people have to it." Nathan says, holding a Shirley Temple and a a small cup of water for his bird.

"Well, Sydney was a chandelier. You became a wasp the size of a horse, and I understood modern art for the first time."

"A common effect. I prefer to go the the museum for that reason. Sydney's was the most fun though. Never before had a tree asked me to pollinate it." The Epic smirks. A stream of water comes out of his glass, and hits him in the face. Nathan wipes the bit of water from his face, his bird ruffling it's feathers to dry off.

Everyone's food comes, including your three hotdogs. Instead of a normal ballpark frank, giant sticks of meat sit on french bread. Pieces of gold foil sit on it, with mushrooms underneath.

Beats me, I just do it. Give the bees acid spit, and upgrade their venom. I just think about what I want to happen, and it happens to them. And yeas, I already did that. It makes all our stolen powers stronger.

Also, if you don't think we're going to be getting into any situations that are life-threatening for Epics, then I don't know why you want to increase our survivability so much.
>>
The four people at your table lapse into small talk. Nathan feeds the rest of the pistol shrimp to his bird, which is apparently the first animal he upgraded. Ever since, the animal Epic has been souping it up when he learns something new. The bird can see in every(literally every) color, photosynthesize, and fly insanely fast. He's named Albird Einstein. Nathan calls him Al.

Once the servant-sorry, servers clear the table, everyone gets up to leave. You sling the laptop onto your shoulder and walk with your friends to the lecture hall. You sit in the middle of the hall, setting the laptop on the desk. The rest of the class does the same. A new teacher is at the podium, a man in army fatigues. Doesn't look like an Epic, judging from the way he holds himself. But, some Epics act "normal" to blend into crowd.

"Okay, put away the phones and start taking notes. I'll be lecturing on leading SWAT teams and army units."

The professor lectures for three hours, taking breaks for the occasional question. First, he talks to the white group on the use of hardlight and illusions to protect the men under them. Healers were lectured on when to heal and when to leave the injured. Then on to the black Epics, on being used as heavy weapons to destroy fortified positions.

Finally he gets to you and the people in the middle, a grab bag of powers. As mixed powers, you will be used for both heavy weaponry and as maneuvering to get around the battlefield. As most flyers are in the middle section, they'll be used to move troops and scout. You take notes on everything, not knowing when you'll have the power.

The lecture finally ends, with everyone rising from their seats.

Sydney hooks arms with you, steering you away from Nathan and Andrew. She throws a wave back to the guys.

Sydney leads you out of the lecture hall, then down the marble hallway to the exit. A string of limos are loitering at the curb in the Epic lane, engines idling. Sydney opens the door, then climbs into the car. You bend over to get in, denting the paneling when you bump into the car. Still not used to being tall. You climb in, sitting with Sydney in the back seat.

Sydney hands you a glass, ice clinking in the whiskey. "Cheers" Sydney says, raising a martini glass crusted with pink sea salt. You sit in the limo as the chauffeur drives. He never stops for long, as red lights seem to change the instant an Epic vehicle comes near. Sydney must have told the driver where to go, as he drives straight to a building with "Node Tailor" on the sign.

Sydney pulls you from the limo, denting it again. She opens the door calling out to the worker; "Get Edna, we need a few suits for my friend." The woman manning the desk scurries off, coming back with an extremely short woman dressed in black

"What do you want for your suit sir?" The woman asks.

so fake glasses? suit and tie ? slouching and clumsy ?

Hoodies are wonderful things, combine with a slouch you can get away with a lot of shit. Im 6'4 myself and I've had people look straight through me till I get within their personal space bubble.

"I was thinking some causal clothes, two supersuits, and a tuxedo. All in shades of grey, maybe some black or white for accents. Oh, and put steel threads in the fabric. A belt of chainmail should be good too. Can you give the supersuits ca-" You ask, Sydney frantically shaking her head no as you say the last part.

The woman is furiously sketching on a pad of paper as you describe the clothes. Once she hears you start the work cape, she sets the pad down. She reaches around the desk, grabbing a bullhorn.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M68ndaZSKa8

"NO CAPES!" She shouts into the horn, hurting your ears. Now,the rest could work. Steel fibers will be hard, but it can be done. Mary! Get James&Sons on the line." The short woman grabs hold of you, pulling you to a large booth with mirrors all around. She pulls a tape measure from a large rack at her eye level, and uses a ladder to get to your head height.

A long and disturbingly invasive hour later, the woman releases you. Never before have you been so scared for your life, as when a four foot woman been crawling to measure every inch of your body.

You stumble out of the booth, back into the main room of the shop. Sydney looks up at you from a couch, a piece of cake raised on a golden fork. She smiles knowingly, having been through the same process.

"Have fun Zach?"

Bitch.

"Yeah. Great time. Looking forward to another session." You say, simultaneously sarcastic and dead inside.

The monstrous woman comes around the corner from behind a wall, making you flinch. "We'll have your clothes ready in a few days. Sydney already gave us your number, so expect a call when they're ready."

Sydney leads you out the door and into the limo. It pulls out, and the driver rolls down the partition to ask where to go.

"Sydney, I need something to forget what just happened. Wanna go clubbing?" You ask, greeted by a smiling and slightly tipsy chick with superpowers. She instantly starts nodding, so hard that you're kinda afraid that she'll snap her neck. That would put a damper on the evening. "Driver, to the Academy." The darkened glass rolls back up, preceded by a "Yes sir".

You open a conference call on your phone, putting in Nathan and Andrew's names. Three rings later, and both of them are on the line.

"Guys, meet at the Academy. I wanna check out some of the clubs around here."
"Awesome! I'll get over ASAP. It's boring here anyway." Nathan says, loud music filtering through his microphone. The sounds of a drunk chick are in the background, likely in front of the Epic.
"On my way. Where you guys want to go?" Andrew asks.
"Bet you wanna go to the Manhole with Zach," Sydney slurs. Another martini glass has found it's way to her hand.
"There's the Dragonfly Bar on the west side" Nathan says.

You collectively decide on the Dragonfly Bar, when a though crosses your mind. "Guys, we're gonna need to pick up my brother"
"Is he hot?"
"Okay"
^^^I'll let you decide who said what
"Sure, he's at the Ritz? I'll grab him, then go to the Academy." says Nathan.

You wait in the car with the increasingly sober Sydney, grateful for the powerful Epic liver she has. Three people pile into your limo, first Andrew, then Nathan with Brandon. The driver starts up the engine, driving you to the club. After getting out, you bypass the long line and head straight into the club.

A wall of heat and sound hits you as you enter. The club is divided into three layers, the first two being a dance floor and massive bar. A stairway is barred by a bouncer and red velvet rope, for VIPs only. As an Epic, your an instant VIP.

I have no idea how to write this part

Nathan leads the group to the bar, the people clearing out of the way as for the Epics. He makes some sort of complicated hand gestures to the bartender, who takes out a bottle of clear alcohol. He pours eight shot glasses, and then another of regular vodka. Nathan brings the glasses over to your group, setting them on a circular table.

Nathan passes the glasses to each person, two for the adults and one of vodka to Brandon. You throw the first shot down in a group, the spirit burning as it slides down your throat. Brandon sputters a bit at his first taste, but keeps going. He swallows it, his face already turning red. Theres a small chance that giving a kid in elementary school hard liqueur was a bad idea.

Your group takes another shot, alcohol flooding your systems. You handle it the best, liver working much better than anyone else. Until your drunken brain decides to drink the rest of the Everclear bottle.

After that, everything is a blur.

You remember the drinking, cheered on by your friends. Then dancing with Sydney and some random chick, at one point at the same time. Everything is black for a while, then an image of Brandon with two asian woman under his arms. Black again. Stumbling into the limo with your friends, then something about the Statue of Liberty. After that, you woke up in your bed. No hangover, so thats good.

Why is there giggling coming from Brandon's room?

Epics man, shits crazy

We'll keep that door closed, no need to go to the party van
>>

Most excellent. I forgot how young Brandon was, I thought he was like 14. But we're young anyways, our judgement isn't the best.
>>
>>36387031
Epic puberty is a crazy drug. Kid looks two or three years older than he really is. Having Epic powers help as well. Bitches love Epics.
>>

>>
>>36387093
Just curious how OLD the pussy was
And wether statutory tape is a thing for epics.

Additionally, between super strength and invulnerability, we would literally destroy any pussy we got.
>>

Fun fact, Everclear was what I had my first drink.

>Power Stealing(III): 1200. Lets you copy five powers at once, at 70% power at absorption(you have regen&steel at 60% power).
and strength

>Steel Manipulation(II): 400 or absorb another regen power.
you mean absorb another steel manip
>>
>>36380246
only thing that needs leveling is power stealing.
each level of power stealing adds 10% points to all our existing stolen powers, increases the time we have to steal power, and adds a new slot.
save all XP for power stealing as it is the ur power
>>
>>36390706
See, this is something I notice alot.

People tend to focus on being fit for a variety of challenges, but not actually being good at any particular thing. Steel manip is straight up worthless, if we can get halfways decent Vector Manip. Especially since the vector allows a perfect all-directional defense if we level it enough (nothing moves within five feet of us unless we want it to, including explosions/shrapnel/bullets/chemical reactions/that rancid taco fart cloud the Epic next to us just let loose). With invulnerability and Vector manip levelled up enough, we can take on high epics.

Power stealing is just icing on the cake for when we do, and people are forgetting that.
>>
>>36390852
I disagree. The Steel Manipulation gives us ablative armor, allows us to manufacture weapons to launch with Vectoring (a steel stiletto will be a lot more useful than a random rock), and makes a good 'cover power'. We fight a guy with magnet powers who thinks all we have is metal? He'll underestimate us. Same goes for melters, freezers, and other metal-benders. Vectoring is good, but we need to stay flexible, not over-use our trump card.
>>
>>36390852
>People tend to focus on being fit for a variety of challenges, but not actually being good at any particular thing.
Hence my suggestion we focus it all into one power.

>if we can get halfways decent Vector Manip. Especially since the vector allows a perfect all-directional defense if we level it enough
So does invulnerability. And with power stealing we are going to level invulnerability and strength like mad since those are the two most common powers. Power stealing ability to level up other powers is essentially free XP.
>>
>>36390852
not for what we are doing right now, laying low so we can get the good powers we didn't say shit about Vector manip because its a trump card. but rule of thumb Epics don't have enough self control to not use power if stressed so we keep it low till it looks like a big fight is about to pop/shit hits the fan.
right now . Steel manip is our bread and butter we just kicked major nonlethal ass with it.
you wrong about everything

and power stealing lets us get more trump cards who knows what we will ruin into
>>
>>36390896
>>36390897
>>36390927
This plan requires three things. A) That we fight someone with a particularly badass power, B) that we or someone else kills them with us close enough to steal it, and C) that the badass power was the last one used.
>>
>>36390927
Speaking of nonlethal, can we get some strips of metal, just like 1 inch wide/ half-centimeter-thick aluminum or something? Apics tend to expect big attacks. Sweep a strip in quietly behind someone, wrap it around their throat, and squeeze the sides. Sleeper hold from 20 yards away.
>>
>>36390971
A is not necessarily true. we can be a bystander like with how we stole steel manip

also, leveling up our stealing ability might let us choose which power we take rather than always going for the last one.
>>
Still kinda disappointed we didn't get density control instead of invulnerability
>>
>>36391101
Too easy to accidentally black hole or cause ourselves to non function with it.
>>
>>36391153
>Too easy to accidentally black hole
I doubt we'd ever get that powerful also with vector manipulation we could have easily dealt with the downsides
>>
>>36391199
True but straight invulnerability doesn't take concentration either, Density changing does, as does Vector. Calamity said we'd need to level up a non passive power to use them at once. Plus he also said we can't into Accelerator passive vector barrier. They surprise us they still hit us no matter how good our vectors are.
>>
>>36391228
also, invulnerability and regeneration are most likely the last power used of anyone who has them. as such its what we would steal. and we can expect those to get obscene fast
>>
>>36391438
Yeah, from the Epic name (which we rarely use, for good reason) most of us picked, we figure that' we'll out last our opponents while wearing them down thanks to our power set. Hence the Inevitable.
>>
>>36391024
very good point I just wounder how many up grades there are to powers is it it it up to 10? 5?

>>36391480
like Bill Cosby and rape
>>
>>36391761
Interesting way to put it
>>
Did not expect this to still be up. I'll answer questions until it falls of the edge
>>
>>36392015
Well you're getting a following now it seems, anyways how many levels up are in each power? Are they all capped the same or do some have more levels than others?
>>
>>36392015
you mention that if we pass calamity we lose our powers
what is calamity and how do you pass it? and would that be a game over?
>>
>>36392032
They cap at Planet Killer level, level 15. Unless this goes very long, you won't get that high
>>
>>36392076
So they all have the same cap? Neat! Will hitting 6+ on power steal increase our power gain past 100% or make it so we can steal more than one power at a time?
>>
>>36392015
how many levels can a power be upgraded?

>>36392076
how long do you plan on running?
also is calamity in a stable orbit
end game could er knock it out of orbit and away or into the earth?
>>
>>36392040
Canon: A red comet that appeared 14 months ago with no warning.

You can get in a rocket ship and fly past it. Powers die if you pass it, don't come back. This is of course, out of character knowledge. No one with Epic powers has ever tried.

>>36392107
Instant 100% power and your choice of the last two powers used.

>>36392141
15
As long as people want to play
Yes it is in a stable orbit. It's about three fourths of the distance to the moon.
Sure, but you'll lose your powers. Retribution for everything Epics did isn't gonna be pretty.
>>
>>36392221
So far how do you think Zach is shaping up? WE white knighting him too much is are we just playing some savvy and cunning guy milking his situation for all its worth?
>>
>>36392315
Kinda milking it, kinda fitting in with other Epics. I'm trying to give the Academy a collage/high school feel. If you fit in, nothing bad is gonna happen. Be a nerd(the short people with weak powers) and shit happens.
>>
>>36392435
like?
>>
>>36392435
So considering we're tall and just wrecked face at the combat sim, we going golden boy on them?
>>
>>36392484
Bullies with superpowers and god complexes, not a good combo. Samantha(the illusionist chick) is one of the weaker people, with only one power. The Academy has a 10% mortality rate, but that is kept under wraps.
>>
>>36392221
>Yes it is in a stable orbit. It's about three fourths of the distance to the moon.
so that means it will pass the earth again on its own and everyone will lose their powers.

>Sure, but you'll lose your powers.
if we did it personally with our body rather than tricking someone else into doing it or using muggle tech

of course, why would we even know to do it except for OOC knowledge
>>
>>36392572
sounds like she needs a sugardaddy
>>
>>36392572
well if we see it her power would be great to have...

or her as a friend

...then again Illusion would fit so well into our sneaky plans... and no one would suspect the nice guy just killing her
hell it only costs us 8000
>>
>>36392569
You are basically a jock. Tall, strong, and not the best in advanced classes.Probably in the top 30% of the class for power.

>>36392597
It's in a stable orbit in Earth's gravity well. Basically a very high up satellite.
>>
>>36392661
powers shit we just gotta be creative to win
>>
>>36387093
>a eight year old got more pussy than you
This reminds me, with our power set, don't we need a girl who has invulnerability to not break her?
or learn to tone our super strength way down
>>
>>36392661
>It's in a stable orbit in Earth's gravity well. Basically a very high up satellite.
than isn't it passing by people all the time?
>>
>>36392683
>>36392661
Well yeah reason we wrecked face is because we thought things through. That tiff with the civvies made us realize if you put enough thought into it anyone can get killed. So we use our brain to win as much as our powers. I imagine the other higher ups in the city do much the same for various reasons, right calamity?
>>
>>36392742
think he means if it gets too far away from earth all powers go kerplut.
>>
>>36392713
or she got be on top and doing all the work and just hope our sperm don't act like a shotgun blast
>>
>>36392572
I'm sensing potential here. A single power, on its own, is unimpressive. But if they were united, they can make an effective team. Especially under the guidance of a 'sympathetic' Epic with multiple stronger powers.

>>36392754
Agreed. Our powers are a Force Multiplier, a tool. Being smart is what gets shit done, though. Hell, we didn't even use 2/5ths of our actual powers, and nobody here knows what we can really do.
>>
>>36392661
When we absorb powers is it 60% of the users power or 60% of level 1?
>>
>>36392860
Exactly, between our fight with the civvies and our ability to steal powers from the recently deceased, we understand that better than most epics I do believe.
>>
>>36392742
If it exits Earth's orbit, Epics go bye-bye. Also its magic, I ain't gotta explain shit

>>36392773
correct

>>36392816
have you seen Hancock? its not like that, I'm not that mean

>>36392863
60% of level one. Once you level it, its at full force level two
>>
>>36392997
>If it exits Earth's orbit, Epics go bye-bye. Also its magic, I ain't gotta explain shit
I am asking what though, not why

>Yellow causes you to lose powers
>Got a yellow shirt and did not lose power
its magic does not change the plot hole, the only explanation is that yellow sometimes makes you lose power.
why? magic..
what? can actually be quantified, if only quantified as "random"
