Entering your lab, distracted by many thoughts and ideas, everything comes to a halt. Sitting in a chair is Doctor Spyral and across from her is Miss Potts. But what makes you freeze is the man sitting between them at the head of the table.

Leaning back and giving you a long, considering look with his fingers steepled, Tony Stark waits for a moment as if to let the dramatic tension set in. And it has, because you have no idea why he's here, but a lot of fears as to why.

“Peter Parker, we need to talk.”

Stark gestures at the chair directly in front of you, across from him. Miss Potts seems as lost as you are, and Spyral's not giving anything away. Sitting down, you see Stark pick up a folder and glance in it before closing it and setting it down, hand pressed down on it.

“Parker. I'd heard the name before. Richard Parker.”

He's watching you like a hawk, but you nod. “Your father. Smart man, but had a bit of a project he was focused on. Had to do some digging to remember what. Somebody really wanted it buried. Gone.”

Standing up abruptly, hetaps his finger on the folder. “See, he had this idea of a cancer cure. Called it 'The Suit.' It was his and Eddie Brock's life work. Ended up with Oscorp, but he did see if Stark was interested, but we were more into making guns. Missiles... you know, being a merchant of death.”

>1/2
>>
>>36396499
He opens the folder as you see a presentation-like display in your father's handwriting. “They were still way early on, but it was going to make people more than they were. Better. Cure themselves. What they had to show off, though... was a black goop. Still not safe. Dangerous.”

Clenching his hands, he narrows his eyes as he continues. “Oscorp was a nobody at the time and they took him on. Ultimately, the project was a failure. Osborn tried to bury it. It stayed buried for years. And then the break in at Oscorp happened. Suddenly, there was another Spider-man. One in Black. Turned into a horrible monster, kept appearing and disappearing.”

Pepper Potts puts a hand to her mouth as she looks between you and Stark as he slides the folder over to you. “Apparently Osborn's been pretty tight lipped about it, but there was a project that had been dismantled recently. A project that'd been on ice for years. 'Project Venom.' It'd been on ice since around the time your father's death.”

Miss Potts raises a finger as if to object, but he silences her with a single look. He taps on a piece of paper left by his side, face down. There's a sternness, like he's prepared for an enemy.

“Your thoughts, Mister Parker?”

Hey anons since the last thread I done some thinking about what to do with Flash. Well, since the whole thing with Harry being evil screwed Flash plan of getting football scholarship, which lives him the option of getting to army and that would be really bad for his legs.( which I assume is kindoff Peter fault since he is friend with Flash and Harry is huge dick to him)
HOWEVER there is a better option that would be perfect for Flash, instend of joing army he could en-roll with the Polic Academy, this would allow him to het a higher education while at same time staying within the New York city and help out with Spidey team-up stuff. Afterwards this leaves him some good life choices such A-Become Privarte Detective B-joing the police force C-coach/trainer/instructor/PE teacher.
Hell we could get both Peter and Flash enroll so they could become best crime solving partners

There aren't good options for backers. Stark is a bad day away from being a fascist, Richards is hardly interested in anything that can't be observed in a microscope, SHIELD is crazy as a bag of cats, Oscorp.... I can't even begin to describe how crazy THAT idea is...

We need to get on our feet and be independent. Peter Parker will back Spider-Man.

>Tony: it appears everybody is against this guy because of the bad shit that would happen in the Civil War if we gave this guy any ideas.
> Oscorp:was bad in the comics and might still be.
Shield: people are afraid of having to owe these guys as well as always work under them.
F4: I'm leaning more with these guys considering they treat Peter like family. People are only afraid that Reed might steal Peter's ideas, but beyond that nothing else.

You look through the folder. For the most part, you see your and Eddie's fathers' pitch for 'The Suit.' After that, there was a picture of a blackish purple ooze in a canister, and some pages, possibly indicative of Oscorp listing a 'Project Venom' that had been suspended not long after your parents' deaths. Then a new page behind that that did not have the project listed with citing of it being abandoned.

You look up at Stark, not revealing anything. “You wouldn't be here if you didn't have a point to make, Mister Stark. What is it?”

Flipping over the paper, he slides it over. “There's a practice my father started back a long time ago, and I keep it because it seems pretty smart. Anyone who works for Stark Industries has a sample of blood taken. It seemed pretty normal at first. But... there was something strange there. In minute amounts, there were substances in your blood, two different strains, that were dormant.”

Looking at the paper, you see that its a pretty basic analysis, stripped down. “And, oddly enough, the color of this substance was black and what little we could try to analyze seemed pretty familiar.”

Stark Stares down at you, quietly furious. “Saw you on the news. The Suit, this Project Venom, made you better, faster. But you don't have it perfect yet, do you? You lose control. Do things you don't mean to. Your father didn't make a miracle, kid. He made a weapon, a disease.”

Stark looks at you, his facial expression softening. “And I understand that its what your father left behind. Smarter than everyone else, with your parents gone before you time? Yeah. I get it. And that's why I'm here. You're making as big of a mistake as I did. And let me help you before other people move in. and trust me, none of them will want to help you. They'll want the monster.”

Stark watches, waiting for your reply. Relaxed, yet also tense, ready to move at a moment's notice.

Mister Stark, the original suit is dead and gone, it's destruction was incredibly painful. I was wearing it at the time.

Thought my other situation would help me manage it. I was wrong. As for the other black spider-man, I'm working on that. Treading carefully, but handling it.
>>
>>36397609
"Mr. Stark, I'm not going to lie to you... But whoever that Spider-Man is, I hope you can appreciate that he might not have the fortune to be as open about his identity as some people. And if this thing is a weapon, I'm sure you can appreciate someone wanting to be sure it's not getting into the wrong hands. Even hands that just want to destroy it. It can do good, Mr. Stark. I'm sure of it."
>>
>>36397780
Something like this.

But more of, "Mr. Stark, you're the Iron Man. You understand what it means to go out and risk your life every day and leave behind loved ones, fighting to keep them safe. Whoever Spiderman is, I'm sure he has loved ones as well, who he would fight tooth and nail to keep safe, starting first by wearing a mask. After all, how can someone hurt his loved ones if they don't know who he is?"
>>
>>36397706
>>36397609
[X] voting for your plan.
This sounds like a plan without revealing our own and Flashes identity. Though I fear Tony might still keep an eye on us to make sure we aren't Venom. There eventually learning on his own that we are Spider-msn. The only way he would stop is if he saw both Peter and Venom in different locations or the same area.
>>
>>36397609
"Believe me, I know it's a monster. I had it for all of one day, before I lost control. Thankfully, before I could do anything too dire, I got it electrocuted off of me. By the same black-suited Spider-Man who's been swinging around now. I'll admit there was still some residue left in my system, but I purged that as well, you can go ahead and check. Might be a good idea to make sure I did a thorough job.

Now, what that means for the Venom who's around now? I have some theories, maybe it's... a prototype of some kind? But I have no idea what it is, or why it's so similar to the Suit, but it's not me, and it's not my dad's project."
>>
>>36397609
"I have come into contact with it and I thought I had killed it off. If it's in my blood, I need to get rid of it ASAP. I have no idea what it could do to my DNA and the last thing I want is a cronenburg situation."

>But how did you come into contact?

You set the paper onto the folder as you look at Stark. “I have come into contact with the substance, but I've since scrubbed myself clean of it. If its still in my blood, please do a test because that would otherwise be very worrying.”

You keep your cool as you slowly explain yourself. “As for the other 'Black Spider-man' or 'Venom,' I'm not entirely sure what he has, because it is not the substance that my father created and I came into contact with. Maybe it was some offshoot prototype or maybe it was something else entirely. Regardless, I am keeping an eye on the situation, Mister Stark.”

You push up your fake glasses as you wait for Stark's reaction. Finally he nods. “Sure, let's see.”

It takes a moment for a sample of your blood to be taken and there's a tense few minutes before an artificial voice chimes in. “Sir, the analysis has come back. There's a few irregularities, but no sign of the contaminants. Mister Parker is completely clear of 'Project Venom.'”

As Stark looks contemplative, Potts leans over. “Peter.... how exactly did you purge yourself of this... suit?”

“Well, its inherently weak to electricity, so...”

She draws back with a yelp as she realizes. “You... electrocuted yourself?”

You pinch your fingers together. Stark looks like he's trying to decide something before the voice, who Miss Potts quietly informs you is called 'JARVIS,' chimes in, “Sir. There has been an incident you might want to see.”

A monitor turns on to to a news feed as you see a series of police vehicles on the chase. “-in pursuit of the Black Spider-man as he turned in a thief to the police. When confronted by the officers, the vigilante quickly grew distressed and refused arrest. When trying to escape, the officers then began to open fire-”

….You really didn't need this tonight, Venom.

You really really didn't. Stark's in motion, talking with Potts. “Pepper, keep our guests company. I'll be back shortly.”

our suit is actively registered as destroyed. the only thing we could do with it is salvage it for spare parts/materials.
>>
You wait a moment before squirming. “Well, this is all really quite intense on my bladder, so you'll have to excuse me, but I have to go to the bathroom.”

Leaving the room, you notice Spyral approaching Potts as the door closes behind you. You grab your bag from your locker and you head towards the bathroom, only to pass it and head down the stairs in a hurry.

Getting out through the front door at a calm walking pace, you head outside and quickly make your way out of the area by foot until you find a dark corner to change in. As you dress in your costume, you can feel that the suit is at its breaking point. This is likely the last time you can wear it, especially if you'll be dealing with Iron Man.

Heading out on a web, you make your way towards Venom. You try calling him, but there's no answer as you follow the police scanner mode of your mask,

>pursue- roll me 1d20+8, DC 24/28
>>
>>36398997
So this is either the willingness of Petter on the idea (or doc), the effectiveness of the costume, or how long it took us to make it... OOOOR how hard Tony goes in on Flash.

Moving at the speed of web, you quickly see Stark's form in the distance. You won't beat him there, but he won't really have a head start, either. You feel bits of your costume fray as you go- there might an armoed piece that was lost, but you make it.

You see Venom defensively guarding himself as Iron Man hovers above him, one of the armor's hands fingers is idly twisting. You have not been noticed yet. There's a trail of bullet holes by Venom's feet.

Venom's behind you, sounding both panicked and relieved. Somehow. “Spidey, this guy's nuts. I was trying to help out the cops, get some good pr and all, and then things went downhill. Then Iron dude showed up and shot at me!”

Keeping an eye on Stark, you nod. “I see. Is this really necessary, Iron Man?”

There's a pause before his modulated voice comes out. “Yes. You're getting involved with something you shouldn't. I can handle this. You can't. Especially not him. He's a danger to himself and others. I'm going to need the both of you to come with me. Or I'll make you.”

“Like hell we will! You don't have the right to boss us around. If we're breaking the law, so are you!”

Venom steps forward, his mask's eyes narrowing. Iron Man's eyes seem to brighten in intensity.

“Look, this isn't worth fighting. I'm willing to come with you without a fight. We're all adults here.”

Iron Man seems a bit surprised as you see his eyes dim. “Well, that went easier than I-”

Webbing cover his eyes and chest as Venom swings him into the wall and webs him. “NO!”

He turns on you and you see Venom staring at you, eyes betting to break their clean pattern, his hands clenching and unclenching, his chest heaving. “How could you?! We're partners! He shot at me! He gets to shoot at us and be the Hero just because he's rich?! What about our loved ones? WHAT ABOUT ALL THE GOOD WE DO?!”

Around the mouth, the fabric seems to be 'tearing.' He steps forward and seems to loom over you momentarily before faltering. “....I thought we were friends.”

He takes a step back, watching you before he turns and flees. Stark's busy trying to rip Venom's webbing off of his armor.

“Sorry, Stark. Maybe Next time.”

Using the Stronger webbing, you trap him. He'll probably get lose soon enough, but there'll be enough time to get away. Heading after Venom, you chase him across the city before he stops inside what looks to be an abandoned warehouse.

“Venom? Mind if I come in?”

There's no answer and you end up carefully heading inside. You keep an eye out as you look for Venom. “I was just trying to help.”

You hear a noise in the distance as Venom's voice echoes around you with a scoff. “Help? You wanted us to turn ourselves in to Stark! Despite the fact he shot at me!”

You hear the sound of webbing as you hear the warehouse door grind shut. “And I trusted you! I TRUSTED YOU!”

There's sound of movement in the background as you listen for him. “I was given the ability to do something with my life. Something that really mattered! No matter how bad my life got, I could still do something good! It didn't matter if I was hated! It didn't matter that I'm in danger! What mattered was the good I could do!”

There's a deeper growl. “And I thought you understood that. But the moment rich Stark shows up, demanding that we stop playing hero and threatening us with guns. And you back down!”

The movement's closer now, as Venom's voice grows more and more aggravated, deeper and rougher. “Was it that you wanted to help people, or was it that you wanted the fame? Because the moment things turned sour. The moment the media turned on us, you're out! And you think Stark will keep us safe? He'll be your best friend?!”

Somewhere behind your shoulder, you hear the sound of breathing momentarily. “You think Stark cares about the little people? Stark doesn't save people from robbers! Stark doesn't prevent rapes! Stark goes and takes back his weapons and wages war on his own. He's not a hero. He's a killer.”

In the darkness, two glowing eyes open a short distance away from you.

I'm not saying to go with Stark; far from it, but the last thing you or I need is the godamn tinman breathing down our necks and maybe some one on one chat could have prevented that. Guys, I think telling flash we know who he is will make him mad. We've went and told him we're willing to work with Stark and then tell him we know who he is?

Guys, remind me, how much have we told Flash about the Carnage Future? I've lost track of the quest for a bit. Is that still even a thing? Because what flash needs to understand is that this has nothing to do with trust. We know he was one of the good guys, and that the symbiote is too, to the best of its ability. It's not about questioning conviction - Flash has demonstrated an ability to master this thing to a degree no one else could possibly have hoped for. He wants to do the right thing, and we have his back... but the fact remains that the symbiote is a creature capable of destruction unlike anything the world has ever experienced. That shit's a huge responsibility, and when other heroes - regardless of how well-deserved the title may be - don't want to trust him, he needs to be ready to respond in some fashion that doesn't involve beating the shit out of them. He needs to be ready to negotiate, even if it involves making concessions. Because let's be honest, if Tony started being a dick, would we choose his side over Flash?

I don't know how Y/N would work. Like... "Look, my name is Peter Parker, and I want to help you." Maybe say that our dad invented something similar to what Flash is wearing, and Stark's been investigating that?

Also, won't that cause the symbiote to freak out, since we're the son of the man who imprisoned it?

This whole thread is just a nonstop clusterfuck from beginning to end.

...Again, the Symbiote Flash is wearing is NOT Carnage, and is in fact two steps seperate from Carnage.

Also, Carnage wasn't what destroyed the future. That was the alien invasion. Carnage just dicked around the rubble.

And no, we don't have any reason to ally ourselves with Stark.
>>
>>36402065
Demask, but don't tell him who we think he is. If we tell himwho we think he is, that will more than likely backfire, but just showing him who we are, will, at least to him, be more or less the ultimate act of trust, and he may or may not decide to reveal his own identity to us eventually, whether he realizes we know or not. But revealing that we know is a surefire way to blow that chance to hell.

“Look, you're right it wasn't my choice to make. But having Tony Stark after me with his flying battlesuit wasn't that great either. And yes, I really liked the idea of having another ally because having everyone after me. But he's going to come after you.”

Peeling off your mask, you see Venom's eyes widen in surprise. “He thinks whats on you is a weapon my father made and thinks you're dangerous to the public. And honestly, I don't know what's on you either. Is it something my father name? Something else? I am worried. But you don't deserve to be someone else' labrat. Its a prospect that frightens me, too.”

Venom draws quiet as there's a sense of shock. “...look, I need some time to process this. I won't tell anyone, but... I can't stop helping people. And I'm still not sure I trust you. So, when I've got my thoughts sorted out, I'll call you.”

Venom vanishes into the shadows as you hear the warehouse door open noisily behind you. If doesn't take too long to get back to your clothes, even when being cautious, and you're dressed with your costume bagged up. It's night now and cold.

In the end, all that there's left to do is go back to Stark Industries. It takes a short walk, but before long you're back in your lab. Miss Potts is gone, and there's no sign of Stark Spyral looks over at you. “Apparently, Mister Stark needed help because he was blind and unable to remove his armor. Miss Potts went to attend to it.

“As for you absence, I explained how you were sensitive about the subject of your parents and near death experience and went to go recollect yourself. Monitoring's currently off in the lab, but I was about to call it a night, so I was wondering if you'd walk with me. It's probably best you don't stick around. Might not be best to talk to Stark, and it doesn't sound like he's back yet. Pulling back on your coat, you follow after her as she fiddles with her Tablet, remaining quiet until the two of you are outside the building after you grab your bag.

As the two of you head off of Stark Industries property, Spyral nods. “Alright. So, your 'coat' is pretty much done for. So you'll need a new one. Were you looking for something flexible?”

She hands you the laptop showing off a rough red and blue- an image of your old Spandex one Felicia made for you. “Something sturdy?”

This.

Our first priority is to prevent fights from breaking out in downtown New York and putting lives and livelihoods at risk.

We don't want to ruin Flash's life and we can calmly explain that to Stark, omitting the Flash part of course. If we convince him to let us handle it behind the scenes, where Venom isn't going to freak out and Flash won't lose trust in the system, then that's the better solution.

However, in order to do that, we're going to have to risk our neck for Flash and let Stark know about our identity.

>>
>>36403285
Because it'd be heavy, not really very mobile, and it'd go against our core strengths?

Hell, our current costume is already on the bulky side (though wearing one under our clothes constantly has it's own set of problems)
>>
>>36403076

Something else

Mech type suit. We Spdrr now
>>

She focuses more on robotic prosthetics and stuff. If we do get something mechanical, it'll literally cost an arm and a leg.

I still hope he made it out of there via miracle. I loved that issue so much.
>>
>>36403330

The Ironspider suit wasn't heavy or limited mobility

Neither did the superior spider man suit

Or any of the other iron spider suits that parker had made

Oh wait, the suit he used to beat doc ock and the sinister six in ends of the earth didn't limit him either

Eat a dick, you're wrong

I would totally okey with swapping my normal legs for some jet-boots ones.
>>
>>36403368
The Iron Spider and Superior suits were treated pretty much identical to cloth when damaged. The only thing they had going for them were those pointy leg things.

Also, the Iron Spider backfired in a big way when it was shut down via remote. It's already a big flaw with our mask.

Our legs are already stronger than most prosthetics or hydraulics, and for bonus points, they're capable of self-repair because they're not machines.

>>
“Hmm, well I think sturdy might be the way to go, but maybe incorporating some new gadgets? Honestly, making it able to withstand more without making me immobile would be best.”

The two of you start discussing new costume ideas quietly, passing the tablet back and forth. There's a question of the colors- Spyral thinks the black instead of blue would be better, while depending on budget there's also a lot of options that could go into the outfit.

In the ned the both of you agree to avoid the armor route like stark, but maybe something, like those gauntlets you recall building, could work? There's still tons of work to be done when the two of you split ways, but there's some ideas now.

Heading home, you find yourself exhausted as you head to bed and collapse and drift off to sleep.

You're not sure how long you're out, but you wake up to a cold draft in your room from the window. Sitting up, you see a figure sitting in a chair watching you with a wistful and somewhat melancholic smile. Her silver hair, longer than when you last saw her, blows lightly in the wind.

Felicia Hardy's smile grows softer and warmer once you've gone and made sure you're not asleep.

“Been a while, huh?”

Gwen freaking hates all the Spider related stuff so probably no, symbiote's powers are copy-cats and not real spider-powered. Also the only way to become host of the Other is to accept it and right now there is only one person crazy enough it pic related.
>>
>>36404366

All the more reason for her to get the spider totem.

SpiderGwen is why I picked up this quest to begin with and she needs to get a kick in the rear.

Oh, you don't need to accept it to keep the powers, (see Spidermen/woman/girls/boys who aren't Peter/Kaine), also she got much more productive after the recon and even then she is a bit useless by lollygagging around
>>
I'm waiting until Cosgrove pulls the current Spider-Man event on us and drops us in the middle of Crisis of Infinite Spiders. (especially since it and the other current villains=good guys, heroes=new villains things are the best marvel events in ages)
