Previous Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/36457473/

Two weeks ago, you saved your girlfriend from the drug den that she had been lured into. She's been going through some odd withdrawl symptoms, and can't really sleep still at night. Even so, she's looking much healthier.
At least that's one thing you feel good about. You're a nervous wreck. You just finished your midterm exams in the college. Even though you were confident going in, you're not so sure right now.
A letter came to your room this morning. It's the grades. You look at it. Music theory, A, intro to mandolin, A, wilderness survival, A, intro to magic, B-, intro to swordplay, B.
You didn't expect to do well in your magic class -- you've been focusing on just physically feeling better after being stabbed. Still, the lower grade in your swordplay class hurts. That's your focus. Training with Miranda during her addiction was a bad choice.
"How did you do?" You ask Miranda.
"I got three C's and two D's." She looks upset.
"Don't worry, you're still passing. You'll do better from here on." Actually, you're not so sure of that. Miranda still hasn't faced any punishment for being involved with the 16th Note. She could get expelled. You sure hope not.
You've been wondering, too, what the man in black was talking about when he stabbed you. What is The Alchemist's Grove? Some sort of cult? You haven't asked around yet.
In any case, today is the day of Professor Miyazaki's fencing tournament. The prize: a strange sword from a faraway land. You want it, maybe because it's so good looking, or maybe because you want to make up for being imperfect in your testing.
What are you going to do before the big tournament, bard in training?
>>
The Rules:
The official QM Twitter is @CitizenCFKane. Watch there for when a new thread starts.

Generally, the most popular option suggested by the people of /tg/ will win for the action taken or words spoken. However, occasionally dice rolls may be used.

Please be respectful of your fellow players and the GM. Don't be that guy.

Pop culture references are allowed, but an over-abundance of them will likely result in a lackluster experience.

The dice rolls will use the AD&D method. If attacking, roll high. If rolling percentage or a skill, roll low. The majority of rolls will be made with d20.
>>
>>36573438
Practise swordplay with Assandra.
>>
>>36573634

You decide to head down to the fencing stage early on the off-chance that Assandra did the same. Miranda stays behind; she dropped out of the tournament, trying to focus on her studying instead of engaging in those kind of activities. You see Assandra up on the fencing stage, engaged in a match. Of course, you can't see her face -- but you recognize her style. Assandra moves with a level of skill and grace comparable to what you've seen Professor Miyazaki do. As she scores her final point on her opponent, you call out to her.
"Hey, Assandra! Up for some practice with me?"
"I don't want to make a habit out of beating up cripples, but hop on up."
You slap on your sparring gear and take out your longsword. Single point combat again. This time, things will go differently.
Assandra comes at you with a wild swipe. Luckily, you parry and respond. Your swords meet and it becomes a struggle, each of you pushing the other as much as possible. Assandra is a strong girl, but you're a strong guy, too. With a shout, you push her and she falls on the ground; you touch your sword lightly to her stomach.
"Guess that means I win." You grin from behind your mask.
"Lucky shot! I won't be so sloppy in the tournament."
"If you say so!" The two of you laugh.

Your gut, where you were stabbed, aches. It's been healed. There shouldn't be anything wrong with you at this point. But it seems every time you get into a combat situation, even a sparring match, you feel the pain.

Looks like the tournament is going to start soon. Anything you want to do before it really gets started?
>>
>>36573867
Besides practicing our swordplay, nothing comes to mind. On with the tournement.
>>
>>36573867
maybe get checked out by the docs or some one for the phantom pain
>>
>>36573905

Professor Miyazaki comes onto the stage and the two of you step down. There's a small crowd here -- 12 people. That means the winner will only compete in three fights.
"Students," Miyazaki says, "Welcome to the first collegiate multiple style fencing tournament. Here are the rules: three points. A hit to the head counts as two points, all other strikes count as one point. After each point is scored, the fighters go back to ready positions. The winner today will take home a sword from my homeland and will be given personal training from me with it for a semester, counting as an advanced swordplay class. Without further ado, let us begin the tournament!"

Your first match is at the end of the rotation, and it's against some guy named Lance. He's not in your class -- maybe he's a higher grade than you. The first round begins with Assandra fighting a strong looking blond girl. The blond girl is fighting with a halberd, and Assandra is using her rapier. Unsurprisingly, she wins her first round. Then two shortsword users go at it. The third match is longsword against saber, and the saber user wins. Fourth, rapier against longsword; the rapier user wins. Fifth, mace against quarterstaff; the quarterstaff beats the mace user with ease. Then it's your turn.

Lance gets onto the stage. He has a saber at his side.
"Buddy Holly," he says, "I've heard how you beat my brother. But he was just an amateur fencer. Let me show you how it's really done."

The two of you draw your weapons.

You advance too quickly and Lance lands a solid hit to your faceguard with his saber.
"Two points for Lance!" Miyazaki calls out.
"Buddy, don't screw this up! You're supposed to lose to me in the finals!" Assandra yells from the audience.
Alright, one mistake made. It's not like this could kill you, right? You've got to end this quick.
"How'd you like that, Buddy?" Lance says. "Look, it's just no use. You should just surrender and throw the match."

Lance's sword swings up and knocks yours away.
"Match!" Miyazaki calls out.
"What?!" You yell. "He didn't score a point!"
"No, he didn't." Miyazaki comes on stage and walks up to Lance. "You thought I wouldn't notice? That's no ordinary sword."
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Lance says.
"That's a magic sword, boy. It's strictly against the rules to use magical weapons in school sponsored competitions. And this isn't the first time I warned you, either."
"You won't take this from me, old man!" Lance yells and attacks with his saber. Miyazaki takes hold of the wooden sword at his belt. You don't even see what happens; all you know is Miyazaki is behind Lance, and Lance is knocked out.
"Let that be a lesson to all cheaters in my classes. Match goes to Buddy Holly."

The healers drag Lance off of the stage and the second round begins. You don't feel good about your progress in that round; you were sloppy. In the second round, Assandra beats the shortsword user; the rapier user beats the saber user, and you go up against the quarterstaff user, Jack.

"That last match you won was pure luck," Jack says. "I would normally feel sorry for your bad luck, but this is a competition."

She's right. You've got to get your head in the game. This is a serious match, and you would really like to get those private lessons.

You feel another hard jab to the stomach. It hits right where your scar is. You cry out.
"Point to Jack! Buddy, can you continue?" Miyazaki asks.
"I'm fine. I can continue." You hold up your sword. "I'm only two points behind, Jack. I'll catch up."

You don't even get the chance to advance. You get another hard hit to the gut. Pain rushes through your body. You pass out from the pain.

When you wake up, you're at the side of the stage. You just had water dumped on you.
"What happened?" You ask groggily.
"You passed out," says Assandra. "Don't worry, I won. The healers have been working on you for a while."
"Damn!" You yell. "I was out of it. I don't know what happened. The gods must not have been on my side."
"Hey, Buddy," Assandra says, "I never got to thank you for saving my best friend's life. I'm going to ask Miyazaki if he'll give you the prize. Is that okay with you?"
"No, you won it fair and square."
"Oh, come on. I don't like to be in debt. Besides, I'm already too good with this rapier to start over with something else, right? So let me do this for you."
"Well, I..."

"Let's duel for it in private. It was the only one I was looking forward to, anyway."
"You're on. Single point okay with you?"
"It probably either greatly increases or greatly decreases my chances of winning. Sure."

The two of you wait for the crowd to leave and Assandra explains the situation to Miyazaki, who agrees and says it's an "honorable pursuit". By the time everyone leaves, it's sundown.

You and Assandra stand on the stage and draw your weapons. She comes right at you with incredible speed. You barely parry her blade, then the two of you lock blades again. It's purely a test of strength.

This one is actually a pass. Good job, guys, you hit it right on the mark. Where were THESE rolls before?

You overpower Assandra and knock her to the ground, then point your sword at her head. It's beginning to be something like your signature move. You then help her up.
"Fair is fair," she says. "You've beaten me like that twice. Tomorrow I'll talk to Miyazaki and have him sign you up for the class." She holds the sword forward. You take it; it feels good in your hands. You've never used a single edged weapon before, but you're excited to learn.
"Thanks, Assandra," you say.
"Yeah, no problem. Hey, Buddy?"
"Yeah?"
"You think I can see you sometime? You know, outside of class?"

"Yeah. Well, see you."
The two of you head off in different directions; Assandra back to the fencing stage to practice her swings, and you back to the dorms to see Miranda.

When you get to the room, Miranda is singing. It's the first time you've heard her sing since you got stabbed. Maybe she's really back in action.
"I'm home!" You say as you walk through the door. "Look what I got!"
"D-did you win?"
"No, Assandra won. But she gave the prize to me. It was her choice."
"That's great, Buddy!" She leaps over to you and holds you by the arm. "D-do you want to do anything else tonight? You're probably tired, aren't you?"

"No, Miranda. I'm tired."
"Oh..."
"Hey, we should talk."
"W-what is it?"
"I think we should separate our beds."
"What? A-are you serious?" She looks extremely upset.
"I'm not comfortable with it anymore. I went in and saved you, because I care about you. But with what happened, I can't see you the same way. This can't work out. There's always going to be some kind of hole in my trust for you, and it's not going to just go away. I'm sorry. This relationship has to end."
"B-Buddy! I g-gave you e-everything..." She starts to sob. You move to give her a hug or a pat or something, but she runs off.

Miranda doesn't come back to the dorm room that night, at least not while you're awake. When you wake up in the morning, her things are gone. Everything that was hers was taken from the room. When you look, all you find is the trophy lyre that the two of you won at the competition around when you first met.

What do you want to do today, heartbreaker?

Night.
You head off to class, but you can't seem to focus. Luckily, the classes all seem organized around the exams from the previous few days, and you don't miss much.
You can't stop thinking about Miranda. She did mean a lot to you. She meant enough that you suffered a stab to the gut for her. But you were right. You couldn't ever trust her in the same way again. Things are different now.

"Have you seen Miranda?" Assandra asks after coming up behind you after class. You're in the feasting hall, drinking ale.
"No. I broke up with her last night. Then she disappeared, and all of her things are gone."
"You broke up with her? Why?"
"After what happened, I couldn't trust her anymore. It didn't feel right."
"Ah... She came by my place last night saying she was thinking of dropping out. I told her it was stupid, but I guess she went ahead and did it."
"What? Dropping out? That's ridiculous! She can't do that!"
"It's her life, Buddy. All you can do is try to get your mind off of things."

What do you say?
>>
>>36575940

>>
>>36575986

>>
>>36576058

>>
>>36576058
"But what is she going to do?! She risked everything to get here, this was her dream! What have I done?"
"It's nothing you could help. Relax, Buddy. She's a big girl, she can take care of herself."
"She pissed off her father and went into debt in order to come here. She'll be working for the rest of her life trying to pay off those debts! And it's my fault!"

Assandra slaps you across the face.
"Buddy, it wasn't your fault. She made a choice. She dropped out, she can come back some other day. She might have been expelled, given that her talk with the dean would've only been in a week, and then no college would ever take her in. It was the smart thing to do. Calm the fuck down."

How do you respond?

The two of you head out and go down the road. By the time you catch up with Miranda, it's sundown. She doesn't see you yet.
She's got a massive backpack on, but you recognize her hair and her ears from behind. Both of you are exhausted. You ran this whole way. You couldn't find a horse. Both of you are covered in sweat.

"We can make things work out, alright? You got in over your head. I understand."
"N-no."
"What do you mean no? Come on, Miranda, we ran this whole way to try and get you back."
"I'm not going back." She turns away from you. "I made a mistake going there. I let my father down, and I stirred up a lot of trouble. People died because of me. I'm to blame."
"You can work past that, Miranda. Please, come back."
"N-no, Buddy. I'm going now."

"So what, you're going to just run back home!?"
"I'm not going home."
"What? Then where are you going?"
"On the road."
"You can't just run off into the wild. It's suicide!"
Miranda stops and opens a pouch on her hip. She brings out a small scroll. More of a note, really. "I have to do things, Buddy. I was going to take the long route, but I think this is a better way. You'll find me in The Alchemist's Grove, if you find it. Just finish school and forget about me." She reads from the scroll and disappears in a flash of light.

"The Alchemist's Grove? Let me see." He runs his hands over a small crystal ball on the desk. "Information on Alchemist's Grove. Some kind of group of assassins. Very old. Not been heard from in a very long time."

You walk with her. She leads you up the stairs through the dorms and to the top floor. It's a pretty tall building. Once you get to the top floor, she leads you across the hall and to a ladder which leads to the roof.
"The stars are nice tonight," she says once you get up. She's right. Not a cloud in the sky.
"Yeah."
"Look, Buddy. Life goes on. Miranda's my friend, and I trust her to make her own decisions. No matter what happens, the stars circle around us. Everything moves on. You have to move on, too."
What do you say?

"I guess so. Thanks."

"I guess so. Thanks."
"Yeah, no problem. I'm heading to my room."
She heads down the ladder.
You look out into the sky and survey the stars. You recognize a few constellations. The future is unknown, but the present is what you make of it.
It is getting late. You might want to head to your dorm room. What do you do?

Head to Assandra's room.

Yep.

You head over to Assandra's room. You don't even knock on the door, you just open it. Assandra's alone in there; apparently she has a single resident room. She's also out of her normal outfit and in something less outdoorsy: a white tank top-like undershirt and very short shorts. The outfit shows off her deep brown skin; it's like milk chocolate. And it's clear she's not wearing any kind of undergarments. She shoots you a grin.

"Thought you might drop by. Whatcha gonna do, Buddy?"

Just walk right up to her and give her a deep, long kiss. Go from there.

You walk right up to her and give her a deep, long kiss. She tastes slightly of sweat and the ale you were drinking earlier. Granted, neither of you has gone for a bath or shower at this point. Assandra grabs you by the crotch and pulls you close, then tosses you down onto the bed like a wrestling champion.
She gets on top of you and tears your top off, then begins biting your collarbone. You pull her shirt up, exposing her breasts. They're smaller than Miranda's, but they're perky. She grinds up against you.
When she rides you, she makes it clear that she's in control. She tells you when to climax and when not to, she tells you what to do with your hands and your mouth, and you do it. Sweat sparkles on her chocolatey skin. She is not gentle.
By the end, you've been bitted more than a few times, you're bleeding, your pelvis is bruised, and you're gasping for air. She just rolls off of you.
"That was nice, Buddy. Thanks."
"Yeah. I, uh, agree."
"I'm going to sleep. Turn out the light when you go back to your room."
"Uh, sure."

Well, she kicked you out of her room after riding you hard enough to put you out of action between the sheets for a few days. Interesting girl. You get dressed and limp back to your room, making sure to put the lantern out before you leave.

Somewhere in the world, The Alchemist's Grove grows in power.

Ending here tonight.

Huh. Well she sucks.

Maybe you should just retcon with the next thread. I kinda feel like I've derailed the story here.
>>
>>36578991

You abandoned your qt waifu. But there's plenty of things that could happen from here on.
Trust me, I have a lot planned out. To keep with immersion, there will be no retconning. However, there may be ways to reach the same status quo you had before.

I just hope it didn't drive any players away.

Thanks for running.
>>
I only just got off work and caught up, what the fuck anon, you just destroyed this quest, and what the fuck OP, you let this single flaming retard ruin everything

Yeah anon you fucked up and drove everyone away and drove this quest into the ground and the QM let it happen...

Fuck this shit, I leave for a single thread and everything Burns down and the QM just lets it all happen.

OP if you actually value this quest and your players, what few left this retard didn't drive away, then you'll retcon this thread and forget it ever happened and not let this retard destroy everything.

Fuck me I'm so mad at this anon and you OP I'm just going to walk away and hope you come to your senses in the next thread and retcon this one.

You did a hell of a lot more than 'Just' driving me and the other couple players away.
>>
>>36579064
See what I meant? You need to scrap this one.
