You are Princess Sonriel Sutkezasael Impron Xophoetaron! Heir to the ebon and bone throne of the Demonlands, and a champion of love and justice. Together with your demonic cat, blood seeking mace, made scientist best friend, and musclehead mage buddy, you are questing to locate and win the Princess Battle Tournament, a multinational contest to determine the figurehead leader of the Allied Kingdoms!

>Current Level - Pretender Princess
>XP - 0
>Unlocked Modes: Passion and Heart.

>Wh-what do modes mean?! Rather than give you a laundry list of abilities to keep track of, the Princess can enter different 'modes' during combat. Swap between them as the situation evolves! Unlock more via sidequests! Raise social links with your allies to unlock modes with them! Gather Heart Points to spend them on special cosmetic items for different modes! That last one isn't real, though.

>...It sounds complicated, but let's be real: It is just going to tell me what set of tools you want to see the princess using at that stage in combat.

"So, Sonri, do you have any idea at all where the Princess Battle Tournament is being held at?" Areli askss you, leaning against the gate while you finish supplying (that is to say, your servants do that) your Fel Stalker with the goods required to go on a trip.

Of course you do! "It's in the Allied Kingdoms, Areli. Why, you should know that." You plant your hands on your hips and shake your head sadly. All those muscles must be affecting his brain.

Areli sucks in a heavy breath, his gaze pointedly looking at anything but you, and then lets out a deep, defeated, discontent sigh.

Melody clears her throat, wresting a gigantic wrench on her shoulder. "Ah, perhaps we should head to Yelsiviek first? There are only three border kingdoms, and that one is close enough, really."

With a disgusted noise, Areli shakes his head. "No, no, no. I'm not dealing with those zotz assholes. They're fucking everywhere. Seriously. Princess, Yelsiviek's tourism has gone down every year since it was created. It's just not a fun place."

Melody taps the wrench on her shoulder, "They're all so nice, though..."

Lots of nice people? They sound like a wonderful way to start gathering subjects! "Alright! If there are that many people, then certainly their support would lend credence to my claim to enter the princess battle tournament!" With that, you mount (are lifted up by a few subjects and placed side saddle onto) your Fel Stalker, and point straight ahead. "To Yelsiviek!"

"Do you know which direction it is in?" Areli asks, pushing up his glasses.

With a brilliant smile, "Nope!"

Melody 'tsk, tsk's Areli and pulls out a strange looking device. "Never fear, we Doktors have once again prevailed where any multitude of devilish contracts could not succeed. I've uploaded a complete map of the demonlands into this device, allowing us to know exactly where we are at any given time!" My god. The fate of where you are going isn't left to the hands of some sort of... dice toss. Perhaps three of them, with the best roll being counted?

With a shrug, the felmagi just starts walking through the gate. "Lead on then, oh brilliant scientist."

And she does.

The Demonlands are a dangerous place, though. Melody has charted two paths to Yelsiviek. Which route do you take?

You're only a few hours into the wastes when Arelia clears his throat, "Ah, Sonri? I was wondering, have you ever travelled before?"

"No, father always said that virtually the entire demonlands wanted him dead, so to avoid leaving the capital if at all possible." You're grown up now, so you have the ability to leave whenever you want! You were just too busy preparing for the Princess Battle Tournament to really consider travelling, however.

"Ah, doesn't that mean there are leagues of land filled with people who hate your father?"

"Yes, of course." Your father did wrong a great deal of people, after all.

Areli pushes up his glasses. "And, following that thought, they'd also hate you?"

"I don't see why anyone would ever hate me." You're a perfect princess, after all.

A creature slithers up out of your shadow with scythe-like arms and lashes out at you! With a flick of your wrist you shoot it with a Love Blast, causing it to sneeze immediately. Your fel stalker turns onto the distracted foe and begins ripping it to shreds while you dismount and dust off your shoes.

Another one springs up, but you're ready for it, slamming down on your shadow with your magical scepter, and crushing the snake beast. It's blood is warm and flows freely on your scepter. You give a wave at Areli as he dashes over here. "Oh, don't worry about it! I'm used to this sort of thing. Assassins attacked me in the capital all the time, you see."

Melody makes a face. "I should probably make some sort of aetheric field generator that scrambles attempted teleportations in the immediate vicinity, too." She pulls out a memo pad and begins scribbling down notes. What a handy gal!

Areli stops dead in his tracks and just sorta looks at you. Poor guy! Bet he feels a little useless now.

"Ah, Areli! You seem to be pretty down. What's the matter?" You start to get back onto your cat, after it is done eating the entrails of the would be assassin, and look down at the felmagi.

He crosses his arms and looks a bit uncomfortable. "Well, I mean. That was the very first attack on you since we started traveling, right? And I was totally useless. Didn't see them coming, didn't know they were here, didn't even get a good look at them before you took them out. Makes me feel pretty pointless, you know?"

You tilt your head, "Am I supposed to get sliced up for your ego, Areli?" The mage just shrugs, "Look, I can handle myself when it comes to assassinations. I've plenty of practice. When we run into those devil ogres on mount hate, I'll need you around for that, won't I? I'll need you to guard my body then. Besides, didn't I ask you to go on this trip?"

"I guess," He sighs. What a glum chum.

"C'mon, get onto Meowlington," You pat the fel stalker's back, "And you'll feel right as rain. That's a princess promise." You deliver a devastating wink that annihilates his stubborn attempts to cling to manliness, and he just passively gets on the cat.

>You increased the Areli Social Link! You get nothing from it. Keep climbing levels because you must. The ladder of life continues without end, pilgrim.

Melody was watching the display silently, then rides up on her mechanically enhanced terrordile. "All better? Alright, let's keep moving. We've got a while to go before we reach Hate Mountain, and I don't want to be out in the wilds during daytime."

The night is traditionally when demons move about, but the real creepy horrors come out during the day. The demonland wilds are not a friendly place.

I swear I'll stop talking about other quests in this thread after this

If Lumi puts on the Yellow Ring while wearing the the Pink one, her mind will focus both on love and on fear, with the Pink one still portaling people she care about. So, either that'll summon the Anti-monitor, of which Lumi is scare and who has enough power for stopping an incoming planet to his face, but probably not enough to stop and incoming planet to his face and fight two corps + others at once without his Manhunters minions. Or it will act on Lumi's deep fear and portal everyone she cares about out of the way, preventing anyone from dying of planetary collision

"Melody?" You begin as the fel stalker begins its plodding pace forward. "You mentioned an anti-aetheric field manipulation generator with subthermic telegraphic properties, didn't you?"

The doktor shakes her head, "No. Princess, don't try to keep up with the terminology, it is just embarrassing." You hang your head in disappointment. "But, I can do something about, well, some of the teleports at least."

"Oh? What kinds?"

Melody crosses her arms, looking around her. "Well, blood channelling, shadow ports, combat blinks. The usual stuff. I won't be able to stop dimensional portals, obviously," Obviously. "But any of the short range surprise attacks should have a good bit of stopping put into them. It's just a small scale version of anti-siege tech we've implemented in fortresses since time immemorial." Well, the past ten years at least. The Doktor Corp was one of the few institutions your father kept around when he defeated their demon lord.

"I see! And how quickly could you make it? It'd make me so relieved to not have to worry about being shanked by assassins quite as much. It really dries out my scalp." Your hair is important to the image of a princess, after all. These magnificent drills didn't just spring into being naturally.

With a chuckle, the doktor shakes her head, "Well, it'd take me a bit. We'd have to stumble upon the parts we need unless we make a direct visit to the Fortress of Mad on the Mountain of Hate. It's got a fairly bustling bazaar. Could probably pick up what I need there."

Well, you're going to be heading out that way, anyway, right? Areli lifts one hand up, "Ah, The Fortress of Mad has the silver belt Felmagi order there. I could swap some contracts there as well."

"Sounds like a wonderful place! I'm sure they could use a visit from the princess to cheer them up, as well."

>>
"So, I was thinking that we should probably sneak into the Fortress," Melody begins, "If assassins are going to be a problem." She slaps her wrench into an open palm a few times as if to emphasis how she fixes problems.

You scoff. It's a good scoff. Derisive without being truly insulting. "Me? Sneaking! Hah! I would be awful at it. And also, I am a princess! I will not skulk into a situation, no matter what it may be. That's for cowards and commoners."

The rest of the trip through the wastes is relatively uneventful, only running into a few horrible monsters, and you make camp for the daylight hours. You find out that Areli is a really good chef! He packed lots of ingredients into his rations and decided that he was going to give you meals that even a princess would approve of! He didn't, but, still he tried. So you don't say anything. Telling the truth always can be harsh, and you are a kind princess.

You don't make great time, but you eventually reach the Foothills of Anger, and are on high alert for demon ogres. Most of the demon ogres are your friends, but the ones loyal to Magmarious are not to be trifled with. Magma burns in their veins, and madness smoulders in their eyes. So, pretty normal stuff. But, they have guns. Yes, guns. Magmarious is an early adopter of technology, and when rifle making started kicking up in one of the distant Allied Kingdoms, he blood teleported a large amount of his associates in there to steal them from it. Guns aren't much use against your father, though...

"The foothills are a great sparring place," Areli says, some pep getting back into him after the meal and rest, "I've punched it out with a ton of ogres in the past. I wonder if any of my old friends are out here..."

"Come, princess, we must make haste to the Mountain!" Melody says, eager to be on the way and get to the bazaar and the potential technologies it contains. "Areli can punch things whenever he wants."

You look to Areli, "It's true. I can summon Combat Devils to practice with me." You're curious as to what a combat devil might look like. "However, I argue that we should go a bit slower. You haven't seen the countryside much, right? No travelling outside the capital and all that? Why not get to know the land you're going to rule?" He's got an excellent point! And Melody agrees, looking a bit embarrassed that she didn't think of it.

So, you decide to take a leisurely stroll through the foothills. There are many spirit gates, structures the demon ogres made to rip souls out from the underworld and enslave, dotting the foothills. The demonlands exist close to the mesh that connects the world to the underworld, allowing gates like this to exist. Enslaved souls are some of the primary workforce at Hate Mountain, making them quite industrious.

One gate, however, is shut down. And guarded by two interesting looking people. "Halt. This gate is under restriction for connections to the Laemyrian Fields." The people guarding the gate are two Laemyrian guardians. The demonlands have a rough alliance with them, and it'd be best to not disrupt diplomatic relations with the country.

"I am Princess Sonriel. May I inquire as to what the nature of the connection is?"

The bunny-eared guardian looks surprised, but the wolf-like one seems upset. "Ah! Princess? One of your ogres went rogue and tapped our underworld for slaves. This gate is restricted until we recover the ancestor spirits." How horrible! Lymerians have a closed underworld, one filled with reincarnation cycles.

"Ah, as future soverign of this nation, I will see to it that the gate is restored to its primary functionality. As a goodwill gesture, I will be more than happy to find your enslaved spirits! I will, however, need one of you to assist me in finding them, of course." The bunny smiles and hops with one arm out to her side. It is very cute. The wolf growls and narrows her eyes.

"Ah! I'd love to come with you princess!" The bunny says.

Holding her polearm out to block the bunny, the wolf says, "Nah, I'll go. You wouldn't last an hour out in the demonlands, rookie."

Crossing your arms, you decide you like the enthusiasm of the bunny girl greater. "Ah, I think she'll be fine in my company. I am, after all, a princess. And my loyal felmagi here will gladly guard her body." Areli says nothing, "The Doktor here will make sure she is doing alright if any harm should come to her." The wolf turns to face Melody.

"With some minor adjustments?" Melody offers. The wolf shakes her head. "Ah, fine then."

"What kinda adjustments?" The bunny says, tilting her heard, and poking the cheek under her eyepatch.

A few minutes later, you're in the company of Michi, a Bunny Caste Laemyrian, walking through the foothills of the demonlands. "So, Michi, what happened the the Laemyrian trackers sent to investigate the disappearance?" Melody asks, pocketing the map device.

"I dunno! They've been out for a day or two. I was getting pretty bored guarding the gate day and and day out, though, ahaha!" Michi scratches the back of her head and her ears twitch invitingly. You may be staring at them, but no one would comment on it. You don't embarrass a princess like that.

That's it for today! I was a bit absent minded, having to get back into the swing of things.

I hope you're having fun! This quest is sorta finding its footing, so be patient, please.

Anyway! I'll run Monday, probably! Hope to see you there!

Thank you so much for playing and just talking! You can talk about whatever, any discussion makes me happy.

You're all cool. I love you. Yes, you.

You made 7 story posts, not including the opening post this thread, how do you feel about that?

I love you too and can't wait for the next thread

I don't give a shit how rude I'm being, it's not even a fraction of the complete disregard for a QM's efforts in writing a fun and engaging quest you assholes who clog a thread discussing another quest and bitching about the lack of QTG display.
>>
I'll wait till next thread to make a ladder for Michi
>>
>>36586509
But then how can we lift her up on our mount?!
Sounds good anon!

>clog a thread
>seven posts

Man, I hope someone violates your imaginary quest etiquette every thread, it makes for good entertainment between the story posts.
>>
>>36587272
Magical girl fags confirmed for arrogant fuckwits.
>>
>>36587382
Anon please, I only just caught up on the thread since the first vote, I just find this guy's self-righteous asshattery amusing.
>>
>>36587272
Not that anon, but it was way more than seven posts and it was super obnoxious for them to do it. Don't try to justify it under "huehuehue i trol u"
>>36587426
I'd say you're being more self-righteous than him right now.
>>
>>36587382
We aren't a magical girl. We're the prettiest princess.

Get it right.
>>
>>36587496
I'm pretty sure he was referring to Magical Green Lantern Girl Quest.
>>
>>36587482
No-one was talking about trolling anyone, I'm just commenting on how funny I find the mental image of this bellowing retard charging in three hours later to yell at people for being rude is all. I appreciate this bit of post thread entertainment is all.
>>
>>36587563
>all that projection
What's even more ironic is you essentially did the same thing with your little routine.
>>
>>36587617
>projection
I'm not projecting anon, I don't see where you're even getting that.

>What's even more ironic is you essentially did the same thing with your little routine.
That however is a very fair point.

Does the princess always have hearts in her eyes or is it only for special occasions?
