>Last time: While playing a popular new about about bombing a town, Protag and Iori are captured by the government and a shadowy organization respectively. Protag, having revealed the truth to the government, is now going to infiltrate the organization in order to save his girl.

To be completely honest with yourself, you have to admit that you’d think being the prisoner to…somebody could be far worse. You are seated on a rather soft futon in a small but cozy room with carpeted floors. Decoration and furniture is sparse but you are otherwise comfortable.
Not having one half of a handcuff on would make you more comfortable, of course, but why complain?
You are Iori Minase, idoru extraordinaire, and you are currently not entirely dreading the fact that you’ve been knocked out and captured.
>>
Now awake for the first time since being taken, you gain a chance to think about your situation. Here’s what you know:
-Protag is not here with you
-You’re still alive
It’s not much to go on, but you figure that it’s something.
Soon, someone walks in the small room. He looks like a student, and wears a sweater with the initials UC on it.
UC…UC…Where have you heard that before?
“You.” He says. “You know how to make bombs, Iori?”
“You know my name?”
“Duh. But back to the bombs. How good are you at making them?”

“To tell the truth,” you begin, clearing your throat as though getting ready to go onstage, “I know nothing about bombs. Although my boyfriend might…” you trail off at the end.

The man before you doesn’t seem to accept that. “Don’t lie, we heard you discussing bombs in that café yesterday.”

Yesterday? A day has passed?

“I assure you, I don’t know the first thing about explosives.”

He seems like he’s getting angry and he cracks his knuckles. “Miss, don’t force our hand. We know you planned on placing bombs all around the city.”

“Placing bombs all around…” you come to a sudden realization. Dienomite, the app you loved – that had to be what he was talking about! “I was playing a game on my phone!”

“Yeah, okay.” The man scoffs. “Let’s see who gets something to eat now.”

As he walks out shaking his head, you feel your stomach growling. But it’s not the first time you’ve gone without food – being an idol is tough, and so is keeping in shape. You begin repeating a mantra of “Idols don’t get hungry.”
It doesn’t really help.

As much as you’d like to scream and scream until things went your way, you figure it’s much more adult of you to take things in rationally and first take in your situation entirely. Also, you don’t want to ruin your voice, considering that you have a concert not too far from now.

You take a deep breath and close your eyes for a moment to center yourself. When you open them again, you take an analytical eye to your surroundings.

As you saw earlier, the futon you’re handcuffed to is the only piece of furniture in the small room. It’s wooden and sees a bit cheap – a well placed kick might be enough to break parts of it. At the far end of the long-but-skinny room is a window, barred and covered with a shade. Soft light is diffusing through the curtains. Your purse, containing your phone (and the portal to Idol Hammerspace) is about 5 feet from the futon, but it doesn’t seem like you’d be able to reach it easily. The best find is that there doesn’t seem to be a lock on the door.

Those “Surviving Idol Kidnapping” classes you took recently might really have been worth the money.

After taking note of everything you see, you test out the strength of the handcuffs. One half is cuffed around your wrist, while the other is on the bars of the backing of the futon. They cuffs stay strong when you pull, but the bars seem to bend slightly….

Soon you hear a commotion outside – voices, movement, perhaps even a gun cocking – and you pay close attention.

“Intruder…” you hear, “Young kid.” “Get down!” “What do…mean…make bombs?” “You…not…filthy cop?”

There seems to be someone who entered the apartment building (as you guessed you were in, by the residential feel of the place) uninvited.

You lean forward as far as the cuffs allow you in order to really hear what’s going on and because of the overall thinness of the room, you’re closer to the door than you’d expect. But you can definitely hear the conversations now.

“So, “ says the voice of the student who spoke to you earlier. “How’d you find out about us?”

“Chats around town.” A voice says, somewhat gruff but in a very fake, acting way. In fact, if you try to imagine the voice without that gruffness, it’d sound very familiar to you…

“Uh huh. Because our members are loose lipped losers who’d speak about terrorist acts.” He says sarcastically.

“Not kidding.” The gruff voice replies. “I heard about you Usagi Club guys and the various branches from some sources.”

The Usagi Club? UC? It all made sense now! But what would bombing the town have to do with worshipping, well…you?

There is silence for a moment before the student speaks again. “I’m going to have to discuss it with the rest of the group. Leave the backpack here.”

You hear a sack fall to the floor, and not a minute later the door opens, slamming you in the nose. A tall, skinny body is thrown in face first onto the ground, banging its head against the wood of the futon. You can’t see his face.
With your free hand you rub your reddened nose and begin lightly poking the body with your dainty foot.

“Hey.” You say. “A-are you okay?”

His hand shoots up, curled into a groping grip, and you let out a tiny shriek, kicking him in the side. “D-don’t try anything!” you warn. “I might be small but I can hurt you anyhow.”

“I-Iori?” the voice croaks out, and his head pops up from the floor, quizzical and bruised from banging into the futon. Despite the obvious makeup on (as any idol can tell) he looks so familiar. The sleepless eyes, the pallid skin, the slightly crazed stare…

And then it hits you. It’s Protag!

“Protag!” you squeak out in happiness, tears springing to your eyes. “OhmygodI’msosorryIdidn’tmeantohurtyouwithmykickohgodareyouokay?” you say in a single breath.

“Y-yeah.” He struggles to sit on the futon and for a second you allow a smile to grace your face despite the situation you’re in. At least the two of you are together.

As much as you’d like your quiet little moment to last forever, you remember that you’re currently both captured by the Usagi Club, and that this is not a very good thing.

“How’d you get here?” you ask, turning to face him. Protag is dressed like the college student outside, which isn’t exactly his usual attire.

“Long story.” He says, rubbing his bruised forehead. “But it boils down to having been taken in by the government and,” he whispers this part into your ear. His hot voice tickles your skin and you clench your fingers around the hem of your dress to stifle a laugh. “They sent me in to infiltrate, stop the bombings, and above all save you.”

Above all? That makes you feel wonderful, and you squeeze his hand in support.

“The government?” you whisper back.

“They took us seriously too. Turns out playing Dienomite in public is no good.”

A part of you itches to play the game at its mention, but you fight it. Not that you could get to your phone anyway – you were still attached to the futon.

But Protag wasn’t!

You ask him to get you your purse, and at the same time you inquire into Prometheus’ plan.
“It’s to trick them with the bomb and…”

But he doesn’t get to finish. The door slams open and once again the college student walks in, now flanked by two similar looking people, a guy and a girl.

“Here’s the plan.” The man says. “You two, with all your knowledge of bombs, are going to place this.” He holds up the backpack Protag had probably brought with him. “and blow up the mayor’s office. Any objections?” he asks sarcastically.

“Well, that is a b-bit dangerous.” Protag says. “Someone might get hurt.”

“You’re a funny guy.”

The door slams, and the two of you are left alone.

Realizing that you’re going to need something to help you out of this sticky situation, you enter Idol Hammerspace, grasping for an idol-related tool of survival.

Although only your hand is “there”, you can visualize in your mind all of the items you’re going through in the “network”.

None of the clothing is necessary, no. And the makeup isn’t what you need either. A mic? No. And then you hit it. Of course! What you really need is this – a large ribbon of strong lace, perfect for tying up those 3 students if/when the time came. You deposit this in your purse and then pull your hands out, clapping once in success.

Protag, who’d been lost in thought, jumped at the sudden sound.

“Hey.” You whisper. “Try and kick the bars out.” You ask, pointing to the backing of the futon that your cuffed to. He nods, stretches his long legs, and tries to kick both quietly and powerfully.

The first try has him falling to the floor, and you have to stifle a laugh.

He gets up again and this time the wood cracks. You pull, and it moves a lot, but not enough to get you out.
One more kick and you’re no longer connected to the stupid futon.

“Thanks.” You give him a hug and he wraps his arms around you tight, happy to be reunited.

“The bag’s got just a mess of wires and metal – not actually the workings of a bomb. I’ll text Kitsurubami to tell her that the group is headed to the mayor’s office. When we get there, the government will shut this whole thing down.”

“Good.” You nod. You just want to go home and get through with this Usagi Club nonsense.

“Wait.” You ask. “Who’s Kitsurubami?”

“A delicious brow- I mean, a military lieutenant. She set this whole rescue mission up. Not that I wouldn’t have come after you regardless.”

The three students come in after that, seemingly not having heard a word, and they usher you and Protag out of the apartment and into a van. Only the girl looks at the piece of wood stuck to your broken cuff as anything odd.

Chrom, you bastard. I had no idea who Iori was before your quests and now I can't look at a picture of her without thinking how cute she is. And she's 14! I don't want to go to prison.
>>
Your small hand interlocked with the large, warm hand of your boyfriend comforts you as the anxiety of pulling off a fake bombing begins to rise in your chest. Acting on stage is one thing, and not something that tends to involve violence. Here, though, surrounded by the Usagi Club, you’re getting performance anxiety. It’s not something you like feeling at all.

Protag seems to be focused on something, looking far off in the distance, and so you ask your captors what it is, exactly, that they’re expecting from this.

“Well, Iori, it’s all for you!” the driver says.

“How?”

“We figured that if we blew up the mayor’s office in your name, you’d be happy!” the second male proclaims.

“I mean, we’d have to be pretty dedicated fans to blow up a building for you!” the girl finishes

They were, for lack of a better term, absolutely fucking nuts.

“And if I were to say that I disagree with this whole thing?” you venture. It *is* you that they’re doing this for – your thoughts have to mean something.

“Oh, stop being so humble. ANYBODY would be happy to have an entire building exploded just for them!”

Yep. They were insane. No hope left. They’d flown off the deep end.

It’s not long before you pull up in the unmarked van to the back of the mayor’s office. You’re in front of a big sign that says “no open flames” – it’s the natural gas connection that feeds the mayor’s small office building.

They push you and Prometheus out of the fan, and you stumble. Protag manages to catch you, and the two of you stand facing the natural gas tank, with big pipes leading directly into the building.

The students, all smiles, are pointing guns at you.

Well, if you had to act, you might as well go as far as you can!

“You!” you take an authoritive tone towards Protag. He looks at you oddly, but you communicate your acting in your stare. He gives a slight nod and smile. He understands.

“Y-yes?”

“See this wire?” you pull up a red wire and some plastic bits. “Connect it to that stuff.”

“G-got it.” He goes ahead and starts connecting random wires and bits and pieces together.

The leader of the group smiles. “And here I thought you said you didn’t know anything about bombs?”

“I like being humble.” You answer. Really, you just see this whole situation like you’re playing a real life game of Dienomite.

“D-done.” Protag says, holding up the ugliest mish-mosh of wires and plastic you’ve ever seen. It barely looks like a thing, let alone a lethal explosive.

But before the students have anything to say, you hear a small wooshing sound and see the female student go down.

Out of her neck sticks a tranquilizer dart.

Does it work on chrome, or is that just Firefox?

“It’s Kitsurubami!” Protag proclaims. “They’ve got our backs!”

You smirk and begin your reckoning on the remaining two students using the CQC your old teacher Snake taught you. You were done with all this stupid bomb making and Usagi Club stuff.

Taking advantage of the shock that settled over the students, you drive a palm into the bridge of one student’s nose, and then elbow him in the chest, finally delivering a swift low kick to the knee and he’s down for the count. Using the cute pink ribbon you pulled out of Idol Hammerspace, you tie up the student.

Protag had already begun fighting with the leader of the three while you took down the other guy.

“Bring him here!” you say, and Protag brings the struggling man towards you. When he’s close, you take the lace ribbon and choke the leader out with it, wrapping it tightly around the man’s throat. He goes down, out for the count, and you tie up his hands too.

“We did it!” you exclaim, and jump into Protag’s arms. He spins you around in happiness and kisses your forehead. Really, you feel entirely wonderful all things considered.

High on adrenaline and doped up on ingrained training from Snake, you immediately see the eyebrows man and the delicious brown girl as threats. Threats to your life and your happiness and your Protag. So it’s with lightning fast speed that you begin pummeling the eyebrows man, delivering quick elbows and knees into his body with sick vengeance.

“Ah goddamnit!” he yells as he falls to the ground. You turn to the girl, who (like Protag) had been shocked in disbelief watching you.
Just before you send a flying knee straight to her stomach, you feel Protag grab your wrist and pull you to him.

“Uh, Iori?” he says, rubbing the back of his neck, “these are the government agents I was telling you about. Kitsurubami, “ he points to the delicious brown girl, “and Amarao.”

You blush in embarrassment and stick out your hand to help the man up. He accepts, begrudgingly, and dusts off his clothing as a way of rubbing the areas you wounded.

Kitsurubami clears her throat, all no-nonsense despite her youthful appearance, and offers a word of gratitude. “Thank you, Prometheus. And you too, Iori.”

You bow slightly, smiling, and Prometheus shakes her hand. “Not a problem.” He says. “We kinda had to help anyway, considering that we wanted to escape.”

“That said,” Amarao says “Would you mind helping us get these bodies in the van?”

A couple of hours later, after giving a bit help in the incident report that Kitsurubami and Amarao had to write for their higher ups, you and Protag are stand on the steps of the local government building, now free to go on with your lives. At least, until the next big thing happens.

“So, what now?” Protag asks.

It is a cold day out, and you’re very glad to be sitting back at that café where this all began. Inside it’s comfortable and warm, and the Christmas music playing through the speakers is low enough not to be annoying. Protag is in front of you, sipping coffee and telling you about what happened when he was caught by the government. You have your own coffee in front of you, and the warmth it gives is spectacular.

“So they didn’t even try playing ‘good cop bad cop’ with you?” you ask.

“Not even a little bit. I was disappointed, to be honest.”

“I don’t know what they did to you,” you say “but I don’t even remember all of yesterday. I must’ve been hit in the head hard.” You rub the back of your head where you’re sure you were bludgeoned by the Usagi Club.

“I guess they got aHEAD of you?” Protag tries, raising his inflection for the pun. It was a cute try, really, even if the joke sucked.

You give him a smirk, and then pull out your phone.

“Dienomite got us into this whole mess.” You say.

“I already deleted it. No way am I dealing with that nonsense anymore.”

You look at him, then down to your phone, and the bruise on the back of your head acts up again.

“I think I should take care of it to.”

You look just one more time at the official game scoreboard and, smiling, you uninstall the game from your phone.

You can’t help but be proud that you were at the very top of the leaderboards.

>I'm planning on doing a Christmas special!
I fucking love Christmas specials.

I'm still trying to figure out the perfect crime for it, but I have an idea.

The only issue is that I'll probably be working alot the week of Christmas, so I need to figure out the perfect time.

Why not take inspiration from the best Christmas movie ever made.
Yes, I'm saying that it should be Accidental Idol Die Hard Quest.

Will we see Kitsurubami anymore?
>>
>>36656558
Jesus why didn't I think of this. He's definitely going to show up soon, though. I may have to steal the idea anon.

I believe so. She was a more or less minor part in FLCL but I always liked her a ton. I think she'll show up a bit more.

>>36656550
I hate to admit it, but I've never seen Die Hard. I know it's supposed to be good, but watching it just never happened.

I'm normally a pale lover myself, but delicious brown is undeniable with someone like Kitsurubami.

>>36656767
B-but anon, I need to sleep soon. I've got to study in the morning for some finals. I'll definitely watch it before Christmas this year - I always meant to see it, but I never got the chance.

its the hair. something about dark skin and natural blond/pale hair just does it
>>

If your college is anything like mine, you have an entire day to study. Die Hard's not even two hours. Not having watched it is almost as bad as, like, not having watched Fight Club.

And it's not like you need to study too hard to pass calculus or whatever the hell you're taking.

I consider it delicious because it works for a character like Kitsurubami, while the other side of the coin is something disgusting like ganguro - still brown and light hair, but terribly gross.

>>36656876
I'll watch it, I'll watch it. I really can't tonight but I'm sure that I'll be able to after class tomorrow. If I've gone this long without seeing the movie, I think one more day won't kill me.
