You are Princess Sonriel Sutkezasael Impron Xophoetaron! Heir to the ebon and bone throne of the Demonlands, and a champion of love and justice. Together with your demonic cat, blood seeking mace, made scientist best friend, and musclehead mage buddy, you are questing to locate and win the Princess Battle Tournament, a multinational contest to determine the figurehead leader of the Allied Kingdoms!

>Current Level - Pretender Princess
>XP - 0
>Unlocked Modes: Passion and Heart.

After recruiting the two Laemyrian guards into your retinue, you've continued the journey to the Hate Mountain. The massive, imposing landscape is before you. It practically broods with emotional depth. There is a national park near the peak of it, but tourism isn't what your father would like it to be. Every now and then you get people throwing rings into it for some reason. It's a real problem.

Still, the hike up is not something to envy. Thankfully, as princess, you get to circumvent the required sixteen trials of anger to ascend Hate Mountain. Though, they do sell strange 'gold passes' that allow you to skip them as well. Most merchants have a lifetime gold pass, though the trade at the Hate Mountain Bazaaar and Festival Center is mostly for religious purposes. There are odd cults up there, after all. Just littering the place. The past several mayors of Hate Mountain have sworn to cut down on the cult population, but, well, no one really knows how to get started. I guess that's what happens when you have a living devil god inside a volcano. Good thing he is cursed to forever sleep!

Still, which of the three entrances are you going to approach?

>Approach the Bragen's Tower. Bragen is half-insane, which makes him half more sane than most ogres. Friend of the family.
>Calypso Gate. Official Unofficial Cult Central.
>The Maw of Fire and Hate. Main entrance. Leads directly to the bazaar.

I added the boosted social level with Melody (it's one up from before). But maybe I'll have the points in a corner or something next time.

Bragan's tower is a pretty large structure, on the eastern side of the mountain. It is where most of the business comes in and goes out of. The ogres at the gate are very friendly, and wave you in, handing you brochures and reminding you to visit the Bazaar and Festival Center of Hate Mountain if you have the chance. A few recognize you as the princess and tell you that they'll give you a special discount. You aren't sure you believe them.

It doesn't take long for Bragen to appear, a real jovial fellow with a really impressive horned helmet on. He's got a massive club on his back, and is wearing a loincloth and little else, and he slaps you on the back. "Sonriel! It's good to see you again. What brings you up to Hate Mountain, m'dear?" There is a chuckle and round of introductions as he greets your party members. Bragen remembers Areli, but Melody is a bit of a stranger to him. They don't get many doktors up here. And, of course, the bunny and wolf girl are completely new faces that he's excited to see. "Does this mean we're going to get more Laemyrian tourists in the future?" Bragan gives them a gold-tooth grin.

"No," The wolf girl says simply.

"Ah, Bragen, I don't intend on hiding my visit here this time. Is there anyway you can arrange protection while I go about procuring goods for the Doktor here?" You bat your eyelashes. You've got pretty good ones, all things withstanding.

Bragen claps his hands, "Anything for the little Princess! I've got some friends down in the Bazaar that will keep the riff-raff in line." That's good to hear.

So, while Melody is about looking for her materials, what do you want to do while in Hate Mountain? Keep in mind that it is your last stop in civilization until you are in a foreign country.

>>

So does that mean we're going to turn her into a mace?
>>
>>36761967
She's not that impressive a rival. But we are going to subjugate her and forcibly bend her to our will. Weaponizarion only happens if that fails and she's strong enough to make a useful riding crop.
>>

We'll trap her in her chain whip thing so that we can start learning the whip moveset.

I kind of like the idea of turning them into weapons like mega man, but that probably edges too close to someone's magical realm.
>>
>>36762061
Why not? Yeah we can give them specialized jobs, but I like the idea of all of them ending up as our personal attendants. Reminds them (ant their parents/kingdoms) who's the boss.
>>
>>36762139
Anon please, we are a princess not a child, we hold tea socials not tea parties.
>>
>>36762157
Do we have slumber parties or slumber socials?
>>
>>36762148
Idk man, they'd end up being so much weaker than our mace that I'm not sure it's worth the expense? You need a shit ton of reagents (or be our father) to pull off a successful weaponization.
>>
>>36762166
It's not a slumber party if it's just us and our maids.
>>
>>36762195
See, that just seems boring to me.
>>
>>36762193
Its not just a matter of strength, they could have individual useful abilities and traits.
Of course they might be even more useful as not-weapons, so we'll see.
>>
>>36762225
You've never played Maid have you?
>>
>>36762193
>starter weapon
>not being weaker than the power of friendship
>>
>>36762251
No, it's not the maid part, it's the fact that they're all the same thing.

If each were something different, I'd be fine with it. Like one was a maid, one is a royal astronomer, one is a royal treasurer, etc.
>>
>>36762272
We'll just have to see what they're best at! I bet it is "being a princess" just like us and we shouldn't interfere with that. Princesses gotta stick together!
>>
>>36762272
We'll need at least three maids so that they'll jockey for position.
>>
>>36762236
>individually useful abilities and traits.

So, how about instead of turning each of them into a separate weapon, we cram them all into the same weapon? Just add new princess to growing (tetsubo? Whatever) after defeat.
>>
>>36762386
Nah

Weaponization doesn't seem useful. Better stick with our mace
>>
>>36762272
I don't see why our money handler wouldn't be one of our maids. As for an astronomer, we're a princess, we go to bed early. We'd never see our astronomer.
>>
"Are you sure you won't get bored, Princess?" Melody asks, "I mean, I was the one who really wanted to come here for some tech stuff. I know it wasn't on your list of places to go to."

You're standing in the bazaar with the ogre guards surrounding you, waving your hand dismissively. "Oh, pish posh. I'm sure I can come up with something to do. Areli, how do you feel about having a shopping trip of our own?"

The magi adjusts his glasses. "Uh, sure. I guess."

>Areli has gained the 'exhausted' state!
>Areli has increased his maximum carrying capacity!
>Areli has learned not to agree to suggestions so easily!

The bundle Areli is carting around is unenviable. He has several spears and javelins for the Laemyrian guards, enchanted with different elemental properties. Apparently Kaori is good at swapping the weapons on the fly, and was helping him pick them out. She showed a real passion for buying the spears, an excitement you didn't know she was capable of showing. Michi favored the javelins, saying that she wasn't cut out for front line combat. Of course, as their royal escort, you bought them the gifts without question.

Next on your list was a gift for father. You might as well get him souveniers from everywhere you go. A simple carved ogre with an oversized, bobbling head was chosen for him. It bristled with ivory and gold. Just like you know he likes!

You also got some cute matching chokers for the girls, each with a cartoonish cariacture of your face on the center. "What're these for?" Kaori asks, "Some kind of bracelets?"

Unfortunately, you couldn't find any of the magazines. Princess Monthly was a special order you had to pull strings to even get in the capital, so it doesn't suprise you. You are upset that you don't get to read up on all the latest princess happenings. Even if they never involve you...

Lots of sweets and cakes were purchased however, gifts for various people around Hate Mountain. It will make your visit memorable in a positive light.
>>
Personally, I'm up for all turning them into a different servant for us! We can call all of them maids to simplify things, but they'll definitely all have jobs other then "Cleaning"
>>
There were some enchanted bandages you were interested in finding to upgrade Areli's punching power, but the felmagi stubbornly refused your 'charity'. And insisted that a true felmagi creates his own fist wraps through proper 'devil negotiation'. Whatever that means.

After all was said and done, Melody meets back up to you, and informs you it will take a small bit of time to get the anti-local teleportation field stabilized. So, to pass the time, you decided to do some group exercises with Areli and the Laemyrian girls.

After a little bit of practice, you quickly find that they can work together fairly efficiently. With Michi and Kaori using spears, they can help fend off multiple enemies so that Areli can fight them one on one. Michi can also soften up the ranks a bit with some javelins, and Kaori can hold a much larger amount of foes off by herself. It seems to work out okay. You also practice cheering them on so as to not completely depress them like last time.

When all is said and done, you have completed an absolutely wonderful time at Hate Mountain! You promise one of the guards to write in a glowing review to Princess Monthly to try and encourage more tourism.

With the device completed, Melody seems rather grateful that you managed to tolerate the whole ordeal altogether, and says she can't wait to pass more invention ideas over to you.

>You've gained a Social Link level with Melody! My god. Two?! You're practically. Best. Friends.
>You also gained sixteen friendship points.

Writing a letter, you inform your father of all the things that have happened so far, and hand it to Bragen, hoping that he will entrust it to the right people.

It's time to make way to Yelsiviek. Bidding farewell to Bragen, thanking him for the guards and help, you head out the gate and descend Hate Mountain.

"Alright. Melody? Do you know how to get to Yelsiviek? I'm afraid I have no clue."

The scientist pats her device. "'Course I do, Sonri! I've got the whole demonlands mapped out right here. Why, maybe even some lands beyond!" You're not sure you believe that. Scientists never have proof of anything.

Melody ends up charting a course, and your mounts make quick work of the place, getting you to the border insanely fast. So fast, that you end up arriving there before a group of assassins was expecting. You arrive in the middle of them getting ready to place traps.

"Uh..." The leader says, holding a large metal disc and a shovel. "You weren't supposed to get here for at least another week."

Melody gasps. "He's part of the Royal Assassin's Doktorship! They're outspoken advocates of returning the demonlands to a state of chaotic war to drive the weapons development programs!" She clenches her wrench, and orders a terrodile to charge! The cybernetic beast snaps a would be science-assassin across the midsection, a horrifying scream ringing out before the scientist brains him with her wrench. You're not sure that was necessary.

Alright! If you cut the head of a snake off, the rest will die! It only makes sense, yeah? You don't even have to worry about traps, since you caught them off guard. How convenient. Hoping to punish them quickly, you unsling your magic wand and prepare to take them out. Personally.

Your fel stalker leaps and bounds to it's target: The fanciest looking person there. His shady cape had gold lining, he had a monocole. A small mustache. Horns, of course, he was a demon after all. A gold chain, some pocket watches. All in all, he was the most suspicious guy there. You give your wand a good wind up, hoping to levitate him out of the fight with your love and magic. However, when you tap him in the chest, you send him flying across the field, crashing into a rock with a sickening thud. Some people really just can't handle your heart.

Michi picks off a couple of guys, and Kaori takes out half a dozen by herself. After the initial blitz is over, there is barely anyone left. The assassins that remain give up near immediately. Melody fleeces them for gear.

>Melody has gained several useful explosives, traps, and poisons!

Well. That probably would have sucked to travel through. You can't imagine how agonizing it would have been! IT probably would have eaten up several hours of time in some other universe. In fact, it may have even taken half of a 'thread'.

Still, you're here at Yelsiviek's border. They don't guard them too heavily, but there are regular patrols. Of all the countries the demon lands are next to, they are perhaps raided the least. That's because they aren't very rich. Their gold all goes to sun altars deep in their capital cities. It's a very gloomy country, and as soon as you cross the border, you enter a supernatural night.

Time to begin your investigations into the princess battle tournament.

"Melody!" You are using your command voice. The wastes of the Demonlands quickly gave way to grass. Then lush vegetation. Then a full jungle. It is sweaty and miserable. In fact, only a few hours in and you're already convinced that the Demonlands are the greatest country on the planet. "Please, can we find a city? Just the nearest one will do. I cannot abide being out here much longer."

Areli sighs. He knows what that attitude means. The two Laemyrians just sort of look at each other. Apparently they are unused to the behaviour of a princess.

The scientist begins fiddling with her device, turning a comically large knob on the side. "Let's see... I'm detecting large amounts of population basically everywhere, princess, so it is going to be a bit hard. There is a reason the phrase 'breed like a Zotz' exists, you know." You kinda didn't know that. Or wanted to know that. A much longer time ends up passing, and you're starting to wonder what is even going on over there, but the scientist goes "Ah ha! I've found it! It's one of their major temple cities. Not the capital, but it should still probably surprise you with how large it is."

"Yes, yes. Just take me to it, Mel." You sigh, fanning yourself.

Some time passes, and Melody assures you that you're almost to the city when almost sixty bat men swoop down. They're nearly naked, only wearing elaborate belts around their wastes, and using a spear each. They have humanoid figures, except for the wings on their arms, and the large ears on their head. Their eyes also look a bit odd, as if they were blind. In reality, Melody told you on one of her many lectures, they can see. Just poorly.

"Halt. What brings your kind here, demon? Go back to your realm!"

Oh! Melody's lessons combined with your foreign ettiquette training would definitely come in handy here. Right? Let's see. "Ah! Sun greet you, honored ones, and I hope it shines upon your ancestors every day. I'm Princess Sonriel Sutkezasael Impron Xophoetaron, of the Demonlands. I am representing them in an attempt to enrich both of our cultures with an exchanging of ideas. Long gone are the times of a chaotic, warring demonlands. My father has ushered in a new era of peace and prosperity for our people, and we are taking advantage of this time to learn more about our neighbors. Won't you grant me passage to this wonderful city of yours? So that I may learn of your people, and share in the peace we hold for each other?" Your brilliant smile, attractive demeanor, wonderful voice, and shimmering crown all lend credence to the idea taht you are a princess. Adn you are representative of good times ahead. It is the strength of all princesses to represent hope, and you rarely get to wield it in such a blunt manner.

Of course it works.

"Ah! A princess!" The bats do a strange bow, involving one sweeping arm. "It is an honor to meet... you? Did the demonlands have a princess?" A dozen shrug. There seems to be much chatter, and before long, the leader slams the end of his spear on the guond repeatedly. "Silence! They'll know more at the city. There isn't much that five demons can do here anyways. We'll be glad to escort you to the Yelsivi Altar, princess. Right this way."

Whether the guards are to keep you contained, or to keep enemies away, you're unsure, but some travelling later and you find yourself in the city that the guard called the 'Yelsivi Altar'. It's definitely... different.

You turn to face your escort, as you get near the middle of the city. "You'll find that my story is quite true, you know. Surely you've noticed that demonic incursions over the past few years have declined sharply?" It was a long conflict to unite the Demonlands, only recently has your father's more civilized policies taken hold of the whole area.

"Well, that's true, but we know there was a big ol' inter-demon war going on out there. Not that any civilized nation put much interest into it, you know? Those wastes are something we just hope nothing ever comes out of. So you can understand our reticent behaviour, I hope." They were treating you with a ton of respect despite not quite believing your story. I guess that is the natural dignity of a princess at work!

You begin the arduous task of explaining your nation's proud and storied three year history and the bloody war that took place to let it happen, much to the rapt attention of a growing audience. Before too long, actual scholars show up and start taking notes. It seemed there was very little understanding of what was going on in the Demonlands in this country! Unthinkable! You're the largest country in the world, probably! With plentiful natural resources, such as souls and sulfur and hell-energy! A wide, and varied culture beats at the heart of your kingdom!

Still, with some of the people consulting archives to check phenomena they watched occur and fact checking them against events you listed in your 'testimony' the Zotz agree that you are, indeed, a princess. And the Demonlands is now a democractic monarchy ruled by your father.

The most shocking news you heard during the whole affair? Apparently, no other country in the entire Allied Kingdoms has recognized this fact either. Oh dear... no wonder none of the other princesses ever answered your letters. This was going to be an uphill battle, indeed.
