Even though Gerhard likes to act all spooky and stuff, he's pretty the only one in the castle who I can talk to about this stuff aside from Reinhold, and he has the added bonus of not being pushy as hell about my personal life.

Noticing that her friend(?) is feeling bad, Luciana walks over to her and gives her a light hug.

And so, Luciana gives us s quick rundown of the situation. Apparently some sea serpents attacked Reinhold and this lady... his sister's (how the hell did I forget that) hometown and he jumped at the chance to kill all of them when Arnaud offered to bring him along.

Emilio told me that Arnaud's some kind of super Lighting Contractor on top of being like the best swordsman that Granache has ever seen so I dunno how much help he's going to be, but I guess Reinhold's main purpose in tagging along is to kill stuff.

The indistinct grammar here initially made me think that "kill any stragglers" was ALSO referring to the "noble people of Cateno" rather than the implied leviathans.

After everyone's finished up with this round of greetings, Emilio speaks up.

"Nicolette, Elena isn't with you?" he asks.
"Uh, no?" Nicolette replies. "Why would she be?"
"Well I mean you stayed at your house last night and Luciana's here too so I just assumed..."
"Nope, she's still back there with Reya," she shrugs. "I think Rana left early to go and pick up Sylvie, but I dunno where she is..."

As if on cue, a carriage picks that EXACT moment to roll up.

"Hey, everybody!" Rana says, smiling happily as she leaps out of the carriage. "I bring you the gift of cute girls!"

After giving both Nicolette and Melanie a quick hug, Rana hurries back to help Sir Vincent's daughters out of the carriage.

"Hey..." Sylvie says, waving to Nicolette.
"I'm surprised your bother let both of them come too," Nicolette says, pointing to her friend's little sisters.
"Mommy said that we can come along as long as we don't try to go in the lake," Racquel says.

Suddenly, Rana clutches her head.

"Dammit..." she growls. And I mean she does a legit dragon growl, it's really freaking unnerving.
"What's wrong?" Sylvie asks.
"Just remembered that I forgot something important over at Sir Gregory's place," she says with a nervous smile.
