Interlude: Ringed Moon

You sit awkwardly in a break room, the model of respite within a bureaucratic office sharing space with government and military interest, wearing the flowing pink and white gown of your empowered form. Sailor Crystal Moon, White Lady of and heir to a Throne from an age that will never come to this earth. This earth that isn’t your true home, but brings you a greater sense of peace than the alternate future of Crystal Tokyo from which you were born.

Coffee helps. Even the poor excuse that comes out of this automatic machine.

The normal folks cleared out of the room when you came in. They’d heard that VIPs would be in their office today for some kind of meeting, no one ever told them who would actually be here though.

It all went well. Everything known on the table. The role you were to play in things was made clear both publically and privately, both as Sailor Moon and as Usa Chiba. With mom away, you and your Sailor Guardians would be prepared to deploy on a global basis while your youngest sister stayed to deal with things on the island. With mom away, and with dad spending so much time at the Metro Building and PIT Command, you would have to take care of your sisters at home. Slumping your shoulders, you take a slow drag from the bitter black heat in your hands. Things are only halfway done, this is just a short recess.

“Are you alright?” a familiar voice calls from the doorway.
>>
>>36816196

Turning, you see her lay the Silence Glaive against the wall and cross the room to an empty seat beside you. Even though she appears a bit older than you, she still wears the Skirt and capelet scarf of the original Senshi uniform. Even if it looks a bit childish, it brims with nostalgia. Today was the first day in quite some time you had seen her in it.

“I’ll be fine,” you sigh and cautiously lean your head against her shoulder when you’re certain the two of you are alone, “How’re you?”

She is hesitant to reply.

“Worried. What they’ve asked me to do...I’m worried Mi-” she pauses, “I’m worried the third will take issue with me training the others,”

“Are you still that scared of seeing her?”

“...yes,” she says quietly, “I’m worried she’ll hate me even more if I…”

She trails off and sighs.

“Eventually...you’re going ‘home’ for good...aren’t you?” she asks and you stiffen.

It hangs between you, a disquiet that you aren’t certain how to approach.

“I don’t know,” you admit just as quietly.

“I...I enjoyed seeing the movie with you and Helios,” she squeaks out a bit too quickly.

“Well, after we leave here there is something I wanted to do. Just the two of us,” you smile.

“Oh?”

“I was thinking of painting you another portrait. And not one you could hang in your office,”

Quest Start

You’ve been following this thing for what feels like forever. Its small and dark, but it has two enormous and colorful wings the shade of blue...well, it looks blue. There are so many facets and changes to the pattern its just mesmerizing, and you want to catch it. It flutters by and you lunge again, flailing your paws and failing to grasp it before it comes to a rest on a long blade of grass in the green space at the base of a tree set in the sidewalk.

Looking up, you realize you don’t know quite where you are. And the world is so big, much like the people. Unlike the people you normally know, these people are strangers...and you are pretty sure you shouldn’t talk around them while you are furry and have paws.

Your name is Diana, so is your big sister. You are a Mau, a Moon Cat, and you are part of a hereditary line of Guardian Mau to the Royal Family of a Kingdom that used to be on the moon. Now it isn’t. No one tells you why, or why there isn’t a kingdom anymore. Your mommy said she’d tell you a bit later, that you shouldn’t let your carefree days be weighed down by such things.

You have a great mommy...but she isn’t here right now...and you may have wandered away from your big sister when she was trying to show you something.

The sun is way high up, and there are people moving about everywhere. The fluttering thing you were chasing flies off, and high away.

Hopping up into the air, you bat your paws wildly in hopes of catching the fluttering thing. Sadly, if is too far away. Still reaching against impossible heights, you watch as it is swayed to and fro by the whims of the wind, until it vanishes from your careful sight. Your quarry gone, you find yourself alone in your small island of green in the human city. With a sniff of the air, you notice that this tree is popular with a number of lupine scent markers and the passing presence of rodents. Dogs frighten you, and you would rather not run into any right now, and the smell of small furry rodents reminds you of your own hunger.

Earlier, your big sister was supposed to teach you how to acquire fresh fish when not at home. However you got distracted and never learned the lesson from her about the fish. Fish sounds pretty good right now, but the city away from the tree is away with many scents of delicious cooked foods.

Carefully, you shift from your natural form to your bipedal human one and balance uneasily on your feet. Confident in your ability to stand, you look up at the moving crowd of people who have not yet noticed you and call out a few times.

“Lost?”

You venture, to no one’s notice, before calling out again a bit louder.

“‘m lost!” you cry out and begin crying as is proper. You don’t like being alone and your mommy and sister aren’t here.

Your eyes snapped shut when worry overtook you and you started crying, but you feel and smell the immediate presence of a number of humans come to your side.

There are two women and a man looming over you, one of the women has knelt down to your level. Your nose can tell she’s wearing fake hair, its yellow and fake, much like the darker tone of makeup she wears on her skin. She has a slightly rounded face, and looks at your with general concern.

“‘m lost,” you cry and you surge forward and hug the nice lady around the neck and shoulder, “Big sis was getting me lunch, I saw a thing with wings an I followed it and now I dunno where big sis is,”

You cry into her fake hair and wrap your small fingers around a few locks while hugging the nice lady.

“There there, do you have a name? Maybe we can find a policeman and then find your big sis, okay?” she says sweatly, even through her baggy blouse she is really soft to hug, and warm.

Even if you have gotten a bit of her makeup on your shirt.

Her fake hair, the wig, reminds you of the thing you saw Mikage wearing when she came home the other night. Mikage’s nice, she made you cookies. Her friends are nice. You want the wig.

With an easy tug, you pull the fake hair free from whatever pins or clips held it and it falls into the space between your arms and the woman who had been wearing it. She yelps in surprise, laying a free hand on the netting holding down her previously hidden green hair.

“Diana,” you sniffle.

She pats you on the back, and looks up to the other two who have gathered close, while other sets of eyes seem to be drawn over by the scene being made.

“Could one of you head over to the police kiosk. I’ll stay here with her,” the nice lady says before looking down at you, “It’s okay, Diana, we’ll find your big sister. Okay. My name’s Hanako Minami, and its very nice to meet you. It’ll be a big help to the policeman if you could calm down. Okay?”

The man, you didn’t get a clear look at him, says something quickly and hurries off. The other woman kneels down, she’s a bit older like Mommy and Usagi, she has big and poofy dark hair and a purple skirt and sweater.

“What’s your big sister’s name?” the other woman asks while her eyes settle on your forehead in curiosity.

You lean back from your hug of the nice lady, Hanako, and clutch her wig tightly to your chest. With a few sniffles you attempt to steady yourself before bursting out into a new round of tears and loud crying.

“Big sis is Diana, too,” you bawl before making your tearful demand in synch with your gurgling stomach, “I’m hungry!”

The other woman also kneels down to your level, seemingly having settled her curiosity with your forehead regards Hanako with a snicker.

“Kids grab wigs, don’t laugh,” Hanako Minami huffs at the older woman.

“Oh, that wasn’t why-,” she sighs, “You just reminded me of somebody I used to know, never mind, listen I think I might know-”

You tune the conversation of the two out as you decide nothings going to get accomplished waiting for a policeman and rush off. Tumbling between the two women, you catch them off guard and they are unable to react in time to try and catch you as you take off down the street.

Hunger, once you take care of being hungry THEN you should be able to figure out what to do. Even though you are very small and not quite used to running in this form, you quickly acclimate to the concept of two legs in speed and motion.

“HEY!”

“SOMEONE CATCH HER! DON’T LET HER RUN OFF ALONE!”

A whistle tweets somewhere behind you, followed by the barking of a dog. You can smell you’re being pursued by those women and a man with a dog, they have the grown up advantage of long legs. Even if you are still a child, your inhuman nature grants you an equal speed.

Not quite. Upon county it appears that while ducking under the street vendor's counter is pulling ahead overall.

Maximum chaos.

The more fuss we cause, the easier it should be for Diana to find us.

You dart away from the building and toward the curb of the sidewalk, wig still in your hands and trailing behind you in whipping strands of gold. Leaping forward, you fall under the red and white cloth canvas of a street vendor’s stall. The smell of frying batter and octopus filling your senses and calling to your rumbly tummy. Once out of sight beneath the counter, with shouts and footfalls closing in behind you, you fold space.

With the faintest effort, you fold physical space and magic, resuming your natural form as a Mau. There is a weight in the back of your mind as the wig you were carrying is added to the inventory space you are capable of accessing with a magical flip. Twitching your whiskers you stride out the other side of the canvas and past the small gas tank beneath the counter.

>You cannot change back to human form for 1 hour

The stall attendant and cook seems confused by the slew of people rushing toward him, including a police officer and his dog. While the nice girl leans down to look beneath the canvas tenting, you have already hopped up onto the countertop and snagged a warm and sauce brushed octopus ball.

“She was right here?”

“Did anyone see which way she went?”

“Check the street!”

“Is there a problem officer?”

Leaping down on the far side of the stall, the assorted humans no longer concerned with you, but the missing child, you consider the other delicious smells nearby as you enjoy the pilfered ball. The dog on the other side is whining in your direction, but when the officer sees a kitten and not a missing child, pays you no further mind.

“Oh, a cat,”

The Octopus ball is delicious and filling, but you could still snack. The other nearby brick and mortar food places seem to be a soupy noodle place, a place filled with cookies and bigger softer looking confections, and a place with a long counter going toward the back with booths that smells very spicy and savory.

Out of the corner of your eye, you see the older woman in purple regarding you. Actually, you think she’s been looking at you specifically since the officer stopped noticing you. While the other people worry about a child they can no longer find, she begins making her way casually in your direction.

Your course is clear. With a few quick hops you manage to get into the opening door of the shop filled with cookies and other baked delicacies that you don’t quite yet know the names of. You are assaulted by the aromas of sugar, yeast, and flour as they bake somewhere on the premises. Sweets are everywhere here.

Using your natural feline graces, you stealthily search about for an unattended morsel or crumb before stalking bigger game. To your dismay, this teaches you that cookies do not taste nearly as good in your present form as when in your humanoid one...and you definitely feel like you need to let your energy rebuild before attempting that shape again.

To build that energy, even if not as delicious as you would hope, you are able to quickly paw a cookie down from a display tray and onto the floor, where you enjoy it at a casual pace. The belly ache you experienced the other day from having too many cookies left you with the knowledge to pace yourself, besides its just more dignified than cramming cookies into your face.

Even amid the sweet scents of baking and confectionery, you are aware of the perfumed smell of the lady in purple as she enters the shop. Is she searching for you?

Hmmm…
>>
>>36819918

There are a few children with parents in this bakery, of varying ages. At least two of them are young girls. From your experiences so far, young girls think you are cute and you could probably get them to crowd around you if you blatantly make your presence known near them. Exposing yourself for mobile cover might be a risk if the lady in purple sees you...so would leaping on a table and knocking something over while hissing...it could create enough of a distraction to make it out the do-

The door!

You can’t open it on your own. If you want to get out you’ll have to wait for someone else to open it or try to hide deeper into the shop, perhaps in the back where the freshest baking smells are.

Or...it could be a coincidence she’s in here and you can keep snagging and enjoying cookies.

Oh well, time to exercise both your caution and your curiosity. Darting from table to table, and betwixt the legs of other customers, you make it toward the high set door toward the back of the counter. You sidle just under the overhang of the display cases, you watch as the woman in purple looks under the table you had been beneath earlier and click her tongue.

No such luck for her for you are an exceptionally sneaky kitty. Darting under the clearance of the counter and display case separating door, you hug the wall unknown to the shop clerk and find yourself in the bakery proper. The smells are freshest and warmest here. Large ovens line one wall, there are mixers of batter and dough all about, as a person in a white smock carefully ices a large spongy circle, set on a tier above another wider circle, covered in blended and flavored sugar and butter.

Its heavenly...also warm. Probably too warm to exist in comfortably...ahaha! There is a large door in the farthest reaches of the back with long flexible plastic strips hanging. You somehow know this is called a loading dock. And you somehow know the thing being decorated is called a cake.

Odd. Oh well, knowing things you shouldn’t know about is old hat to you now. Accepting it, you take stock of your situation, licking a bit of errant flour off of your paw. You can still smell the lady in purple up in front of the store.

Though you think the device you know to be called a mixer should be whirling and moving, it presently isn’t, so your eyes are drawn to the young man delicately manipulating a bag and nozzle to create little red roses of gooey sugar along the lip of the white fondant covered multi tier cake. Carefully you paw your way over, and observe this process from just behind the young man.

It is intricate and careful work and he twists, squeezes, dips, and moves the bag just so to create the exact visual effect he is trying to create. The process is hypnotic, and so you watch him for a good long white as he turns the cake on a spinning platform slowly with each completed rose until his work is done. Wiping the sweat from his brow with a handkerchief, he grabs a second small bag and begins painting thin lines of green pattern beneath the roses, with the occasional artistic representation of leaf buds along these raised stems. Slowly he creates this thin and sweet thorned garden along the vertical surface of the baked confection.

That such artistry in task can be applied to things so tasty makes you smile. Surely the art and effort of the display makes the value of the tasty treats that much more important, as their aesthetic value is fleeting before being eaten.

Humans are such wonderful and interesting creatures because of that.

Taking a few licks of icing from a discarded spoon near the sink, you consider your next move. You’ve had your fill of octopus and sweets...so you should probably try and get back to either finding your sister or getting home. And, you no longer smell the lady in purple nearby.

Looking about the kitchen for something more interesting, you eventually settle upon the shiny device called a ‘mixer’. Its curious you know what its called, but you are uncertain what it does. Moving over to inspect it, you find it to be a chrome device with a large wire whisk thing sticking into a shiny metal bowl filled with white powder, it smells of flour. It is probably flour.

Experimentally you paw at the device and prod it. Walking around its base you hop on top and look about, eventually finding a series of colored buttons along the top surface.

After a moment of indecision you press one.

A sudden electric whine fills the room as electrical energy transforms into motion. The device beneath our rocks.

“Huh?” says the young baker as he begins to turn at the unexpected sound.

-pomf-

Everything in the room is suddenly set under a cloud of white and finely ground flour. The mixer exploded into motion and hurled the fine powder up and around. It is momentarily difficult to breath and you plod your way into the back alley through the open loading dock door.

Leaving a trail of white pawprints in your wake, you cough and find yourself at the mouth of the road that goes behind the shops and facing a pedestrian walkway. Your crest is covered in flour and you find it hard to think. Wiping the coating away and revealing your moon crest, you feel your mental acuity return; however the rest of your body is still covered in the stuff and you resemble your father by a significant degree.

Taking a deep breath, you don’t immediately smell the woman...however you can’t be too sure. Shooting off into the afternoon sun, you huddle and slide around lamp posts and trashcans to scout the area. There is an increased police presence over by the Takoyaki stall on the corner people being interviewed and other malarkey and so on.

Hmmm...still so many here, an its been quite a while. Still, you take your time to slowly circle the area, even the park across the street when traffic is stopped for the light, then you smell her!

>You have regained your use of transformation.

Plodding over, you find her sitting on a park bench and watching the scene unfold across back from the direction you’d come, well, actually she seems more concerned with the little device in her hands. You’ve seen them before, they’re phones.

After a moment of careful observation from beneath the bench on which she sits, the device in question vibrates.

“Finally,” she grouses before her fingers tap at the screen with furious speed.

Holding it up to her ear she waits a moment before speaking with some degree of exasperation.

“Did you read the whole message?” she pauses and taps her foot with some impatience, “Good, then get down here before your trail goes cold,” another pause, “Yeah, the cops are still here. I’ll be in the park across the way. So, since you and the rabbit are back in the country, will we be seeing you at the salon after this gets sorted out?”

Curious.

Backing out from under the bench and away from the strange woman’s line of sight, you soon find yourself wandering the lush green public park. Amid the small tranquilities of nature, you eventually happen upon a children’s playground active with a few supervising parents and small children. Even a few older kids who must have just gotten out from school.

Its fun to see people running around and playing. You don’t know too many people. Maybe you can play with these kids? You get distracted as you see a mother and her child playing on the swings. The excited child calling out to be pushed higher on the pendulous device.

It...looks fun, but you aren’t one to particularly enjoy being up high. Your last experience with it was...upsetting.

Wasting no time, you’re drawn to the jungle gym and the assorted children crawling about it. Using the cover of an untouched spring seated rocking horse, you assume your humanoid form and amble out in your cute lavender shirt and grey shorts.

Navigating through the populated playground, with assorted parents watching in the distance, you regard the jungle gym carefully. It is covered in assorted foot and hand holds, as well as bars, suited for humans to climb with their lack of claws. Experimentally giving it a climb, you slowly ascend among the laughter of other children.

Hand over hand, pushing off point after point with your feet, you scale the dangerous mountain until you finally reach the apex. From here you can see all sorts of things. The continued presence of a few police officers across the street. The lady in purple on a nearby bench watching said gathering and talking to another policeman. A few policemen speaking with a couple of mothers at the playgrounds edge. A group of kids a few years older playing with really shiny spinning tops on the far edge of the park on the back of a turtle statue with a convex depression in it’s back.

The park is your land to survey, and you feel accomplished. Turning to regard the rest of the top of the jungle gym, you find off to the far end is a sliding pole down, monkey bars to another section of potential play, a spiral slide entrance going down into the center of the device, and another kid over to one corner. She wears a preschool helmet and has her knees pulled to her chest. She’s shaking a bit and looks afraid.

Its a familiar fear.

Walking over to the girl, you squat down and regard her happily.

“Hi, I’m Diana! What’s your name,” you say with a smile to the girl who looks up in confusion at being approached.

“T-Tsubasa,” she says tentatively.

You nod firmly and lay into the girl’s worry.

“You look’d scared. Is everything okay, Tsubasa?” you carefully sound her name out to make sure you get it right.

“N-no,” she sniffles and curls her knees closer to her chest.

“Well, you can tell me what’s wrong,” you pout and sit down next to her.

She regards you carefull and relaxes her knees.

“I don’t like being high up,” she admits in embarrassment.

“What? Why not? You can see everything from high up,” you exclaim and think, “Wait, then why’d you come up here,”

“I didn’t know I didn’t like being this high up,” Tsubasa cries out and pulls her knees back to her chest, “I just want to get down...but I don’t want mama to know I got scared,”

Well, obviously we've got to help her get down. We've got hands with opposable thumbs. How hard could it be?

Offer to help her down. Get up there with her and help her by placing her hands in the appropriate spots for hand holds then guide her legs/feet to the appropriate foot holdings. I'm assuming our little Mau has the appropriate dexderity to handle this. She's technically still doing it "herself." So maybe she can salvage some pride.

Tsubasa nods slowly and takes off her helmet revealing her black bowl cut hair. She takes a deep breath and nods firmly before putting her piece of protective gear back on tightly.

“T-Thank you Diana...I’d like that,” she works through your foreign name slowly before offering her hand, “Slides are too fast and I can’t hold onto the firepole,”

You nod and take the extended hand and lead her over to the edge. As simply as you rose up this monolith, you are able to lead Tsubasa handhold by handhold down. It takes several minutes, as every so often the girl freezes up and needs to compose herself. With your uplifting urgings, you are able to get her to the ground.

Excitedly, once on the ground, she lumps up and down and grabs your hands in her giddiness.

“We did it!” she cheers, “We did it! Thank you Diana-chan!”

Wow, this is awesome, you made a friend.

You wait there, jumping for joy alongside the first friend you made on your own. After a few moments a shadow looms over you, you turn to look up to see a neatly dressed police officer. He comes down on a knee and speaks softly.

“Excuse me, miss,” he says plainly, “Your name wouldn’t happen to be Diana, would it? Some folks across the street have been looking for a little girl with that name who was lost and then ran away in tears,”

Regarding the man curiously, you muse on what you should do. Before you can open your mouth, you see your sister leap clear across some shrubberies hollering your name.

“DIANA!” she cries out landing in the loose mulch of the play area.

She pauses as the cop turns to speak with her a moment after he places a gentle hand on your shoulder. You surmise its done to calmly keep you from rushing off again, given you’ve a known history of easily getting separated from folks as it stands.

Tsubasa-chan looks a bit confused.

“Hey, Tsubasa-chan. Lets meet here again soon to play together. Okay?”

She nods with a smile while your sister makes up a story about how the two of your got separated. Adding in details about not calling the police because she didn’t want your mother to think her not responsible enough to watch after little old you. Hmmm, she probably doesn’t want to admit to the officer that the two of you are cats. Your older sister’s young for her age, and short, appearance probably helps sell the story.
>>
>>36827743
Either way, the matter is soon resolved and you bid Tsubasa good bye as she heads off with her mother. Big Diana scoops you up and walks you back toward the edge of the park.

“Just what am I going to do with you,” she sighs, “We could have both gotten into big trouble,”

“Its fine,” you pat her on the cheek with wide hands, “And I made a friend,”

“Yeah yeah,” she sighs and then speaks sternly, “Just...don’t go off ALONE in human form until you’re a little older. Okay? You caused a big ruckus that drew a lot of unnecessary attention,”

“...okay,” you pout as your sister brings you over to a familiar bench where the lady in purple is waiting.

“Now, this is Koan Ayakashi,” she explains, “If it wasn’t for her I would have kept searching blocks over in the market. Thank Ayakashi-san for giving me a call that she saw you,”

“Thank you Ayakashi-san,” you say and dip your head, mildly embarrassed of everything you put your big sister through.

“It was nothing. Your sister and I are old friends,” she smiles.

“Ayakashi-san,” you venture cautiously with the curious innocence of the child you are, “Why did you follow that kitten around when everyone else lost sight of my?”

The middle aged woman leans forward and pokes a finger right into the crest on your forehead.

“Because I know a Mau when I see one,” she says quite simply and plainly through serious looking eyes before looking back over to your older sister, “Now you and the Rabbit don’t be strangers. We’ve missed seeing her at the Salon,”

“Don’t worry, we’ll be coming in soon,” she laughs at your shock as you rub at your crest.

As she retreats back to her day, Koan Ayakashi retrieves her cellphone and makes a call to someone. Still focused on her, you make out the details that she’s calling someone named Pez to tell her that she would never believe who she ran into today. Specifically that the person she ran into, growing up in the absence of planet Nemesis, got fat. She really stretches out the emphasis on the middle of the word fat.

Still, it was an eventful day, and you manage to get your big sister to buy you some more Takoyaki before the two of you head home.

Oh...wait. You never gave the nice lady back her wig.

This was meant to be a fun and light hearted thread. There were certainly evils you could have stumbled into, but you managed not to and instead enjoyed a light bit of happy filler that still managed to loosely set up an NPC's character arc and reintroduce someone from the series if briefly.

Also you ruined that poor baker's work. Think of how depressed and negative he'll feel now.

I thought Artemis meant someone else. An anon pointed that out a bit ago. Had we met Hanako before?
>>
>>36828920

There are concerns. Mikage is being watched. The biggest thing preventing them from strapping he down and forcefully removing this problem is that she outright told her father about it off the bat.

>>36828958
Hanako is Flowers, from the fashion circle. Heavier girl into bangles and accessories.
>>
>>36828994
Note to self. If ever evil monster infesting child. Tell parents. Preliminary studies show forestalls exorcism.

Results may vary.
>>
>>36829046
It depends with how savvy the family is with magic and the supernatural.

Maybe they think its a phase. I mean, when Usa went through her "I'm wearing all black and a bad guy" phase, she grew up in seconds, she made her mom cry, tried to seduce her dad, and blew up half an already decimated city. Mikage's being try hard useful and tsun tsun helpful in her bad girl phase.

Can't ignore a dragon-based choice.
>>
>>36829097
Well if everyone would just see things this way for say two threads? I think we could out do her.

The seducing the dad thing is weird though.

Still I get being savvy. But with that list of achievements I'm still weirded out by them letting it slide.

Did we ever get the shadow bike spell?
>>
>>36829190
Ah benefactors specified.

>>36829211
We still need to do this..
>>
>>36829153

Maybe they have a contingency in place should Mikage actually start doing some blatant evil?

"She said she embraced her inner darkness...what's she been doing with it?"

"Helping her sister from the shadows. Taking down aspects of threats before they come to the fore, stopping these shadow monsters from springing up, and stopping herself from being a NEET,"

"...I hope when Koyomi inevitably goes darkside, she's like this instead of Usa,"
>>
>>36829211
Yes, haven't used it to do such yet though.
>>
>>36829236
Mercury is in charge of the Sailor Senshi's counter ourselves if we go evil plans. She has everyone's plan but her own.

>>36829211
You haven't gotten new spells in a...spell.

>>36829154
Eh, I ran for over 12 hours, sorry you missed it, I hope it was a fun read.
>>
>>36829236
Contingency plan seems a bit too dark for them. Granted it'd be fantastic to find it. They're planning your demise Mikage! They don't trust you.. they think you're a monster! etc.

If Koyomi goes dark side I'm going to rant and rave that we should be in that position instead of her and clearly this is all our fault.

>>36829283
Right. Now internally referring to her as sailor batman.
>>
>>36829283
>Mercury is in charge of the Sailor Senshi's counter ourselves if we go evil plans. She has everyone's plan but her own.

Isn't she the one who goes evil in the live action show?
>>
>>36829315
Since she knows all their own plans should they go evil she's in the optimum position to defeat and turn them all.. unless the anti-her plan is.. really really good.

Night artemis, thanks again for the thread.

Im guessing every time we've been to the fashion circle we've met her.

>>36829283
always
>>
The real question is, how is Mikage going to react to Hotaru training the Scouts?
>>
>>36832898
Way back when, she told Kanari to expect getting trained by Saturn. It's something she already thinks might happen.
>>
>>36829597
She was in the threads where you met up with the fashion circle at the cafe on a Saturday, and was there until you parted ways.

She was there in the threads where you met up with the group again on Sunday.
>>
Sorry guys, not feeling the juice for a comedic aside today. If we're still around later this afternoon I'll see what I've got.
>>
>>36833578
>>36832898
Yeah, she was more or less was expecting that.
Getting in touch with her anger over her time with the Ice Queen is a more recent development (read: Gnashing Teeth).

>>36835273
Is cool man, get some more rest and fluids.
>>
>>36835293
I'll admit worry for hilarity to ensue if we ask Hotaru why she didn't love us or "Why don't you love me," because I think the answer is going to be an awkward tear filled Dai Suki desu.

The question is what happens when the spaghetti levels hit maximum. Because we as players know how Hotaru actually feels in her complicated way, as further complicated by manipulations of time and space. How will we have Mikage react to those likely feelings?
>>
>>36835509
Generally I propose to be avoidant wherever possible.

Just, y'know, generally try and stay away from Hotaru and Helios. They may make Usa happy, and we're happy for her, but they're bad for our feels.

Hotaru as trainer is gonna make that really awkward, though.

Omake

It was only to be a short recess, and she had watched Giorgio Tsoukalos rush out of the briefing room with the giddiness of a child. Everyone had been provided two folders, one black containing classified information and one yellow containing information that PIT deemed not classified. He had clutched the yellow folder to his chest as he fled with an imposingly bright smile spread across his features.

Naru Osaka clicked her tongue and turned to her commanding officer.

“Was it wise to include him in this briefing?” she asked plainly.

“He provided adequate framing of information, and his collaborations with Sailor Mercury have proven intensely useful. Besides which, his participation was part of the agreement with the Think Tank and his consulting contract with Ellis Unlimited. Don’t pay it too much mind, his public status is actually one of the reasons we brought him in,” Commander Maru smiled calmly as he relaxed back into his chair.

“How so, Commander?”

“Even if the source is credible, and the information is distributed through professional channels, his attachment to the announcement will temper the public reaction to these things and help prevent mass panic from the populous or denouncement from hard line religious groups,” he chuckles to himself and turns his chair to face the big board dominating the far wall of the briefing room.

“So, we’re using his public status as a crackpot to slow the impact of civillian reactions to all of this?”

“Precisely, Captain Osaka. I am aware that it is a bit underhanded, but I’m sure he’ll forgive us for it. Especially considering he’s just received multiple seasons worth of content for his cable show,”

I kind of want the dramatic thing. Or avoiding her. Just instantly being comfortable around her wouldn't make sense
>>
>>36836739
heheh

>>36836075
>>36836881
I'd also lean toward the dramatic confrontation, though perhaps a less violent one than some have suggested.
>>
>>36836881
We aren't, it looks like we just want some kind of...acknowledgement from her that we never got. It feels like we used to idolize Hotaru before she was our teacher, at lead that's what I think is implied.
>>
>>36836739
I don't remember who that guy is, but MaruNaru interaction is fun to see happening.
>>
>>36838643
>>36836739
I read it in his voice.
>>
>>36838203
>we used to idolize Hotaru
Not only that but she was openly caring and affectionate with Usa. Mikages fears and self doubt realized.
>>
>>36838643
>I don't remember who that guy is
You may have seen him before.
>>
>>36838691
So does that mean we want our displeasure with her known? Do we want acknowledgement from her? For her to be proud of us? For her to show us those affections? To explain herself? What from Hotaru gives Mikage closure?

What begins the process of healing?
>>
>>36839461
>So does that mean we want our displeasure with her known?
It is known. Though I'm not sure She's got a clear picture.
>Do we want acknowledgement from her?
Acknowledgement that she fucked up? I'd think so.
>For her to be proud of us?
Yes. Though I don't think Mikage would ever say that.
>For her to show us those affections?
Yeah but not Usa affection. Student/Teacher family member. Not.. Mikage x Hotaru.
>To explain herself?
It might help.
>What from Hotaru gives Mikage closure?
She's literally the one person who made her worst fear come to life. If Mikage can somehow work out that Hotaru never hated her or felt Usa was superior and that she would never live up to her sister. That might help a tremendous amount.

>What begins the process of healing?
Confrontation! Of course!

However Mikage and Hotaru are world class spagetti masters and apparently terrified of one another! So the potential for it backfire is incredible.

In my wildest dreams it snowballs out of control from a screaming match into a fight or flight.

Realistically it'll start off with anger and screaming or ambivalence. Then hoping we get to drop the "Why don't you love me!" Half heated punch, drop to knees and cry type scenario.

Then the ball is in Hotaru's court to be the loving caring sensei Mikage needed.. or.. freeze up/flee and continue being the horrible person I know she is.
>>
>>36839461
>>36840004
In addition!

We could continue to avoid Hotaru like the plague. That's also an option.

Ideally I'd like the confrontation with Mikage either going red eyes or Dark Mikage. For optimum feel levels.

This also makes me wonder if the Stone Cold Sailor Scout personality Mikage had developed is still in her head lurking for it's chance to battle evil and boss around knights/scouts.

That or Shifting between all her personalities almost uncontrollably. Sort of a peek at how horribly screwed up she is.

>>
>>36842641
That's a way to handle it.
>>
>>36842641
>>36842816

Who takes up the Gauntlet? Do we let Mikage handle it? Do we consume all of Hotaru's Peaches.

Red-eyes? Likelihood of smack down increases.

Dan D.. is not a good choice.

Oh, it's the meme guy. I guess that makes sense now.

>Stone Cold Sailor Scout personality Mikage had developed is still in her head lurking for it's chance to battle evil and boss around knights/scouts
I think, on some level, that might be Eclipse.
>>
>>36844419
Heh then I wonder what happens if Eclipse handles the conversation with Hotaru. Suddenly loses all emotions. Goes Flat robot like. That might be even more disturbing than being emotional.
>>
>>36844419
Basically Tuxedo Mask via way of Princess Usa
>>
I wonder, at some point will we declare ????-Power, Make Up!
>>
>>36844585
How is that worse?

>>36844972
If you can figure out how we would say ???? I'll vote for it.
>>
>>36845241
>How
Hotaru initially was a shell devoid of emotions.

Having to face someone she reduced to that state might be devastating. Especially someone who looks and effectively is a physical carbon copy of her love.

Think of the feels.
>>
>>36845241
???? Is a place holder for Moon, Earth, Eclipse, or whatever might be the activation for the locket around our neck.
>>
I hope my writing can live up to the hyped feels when this happens.
>>
>>36848307
If.

Still got a fistfight with a bear to survive.
>>
>>36848307
You a cool cat, Art. I'm sure you'll pull it off.
>>
>>36848517
Survive? You're fighting a trained bear in a controlled environment while "Swaddled with padding". And he's wearing padded punchable mitts meant for being punched...not punching.
>>
>>36848729
I'm not going to name any names just now, but if you start making it sound hard to get hurt here, certain people are likely to take it as a challenge.
>>
>>36848791
True, but how do you know I'm not lulling you into a sense of false security...or trying to?

Someone did pose the question...why did I need to vamp for time to stat a bear fight?
>>
>>36848833
Haha, touche. But I am not the one who does the shadowruns around here. I'm the chucklefuck voting for the naughtiest choices because Little Di is too cute to get in trouble for it.
>>
Huh...I wonder if Saphir and Demand will show up in the present now too? Technically shouldn't that mean younger versions of the Ayakashi sisters be floating around as well?
>>
>>36848942

BE LULLED! I DEMAND IT!

Whoops...I've lulled to hard...lulled myself out. Sleep time. Good night guys.
