Far to the west of the other continents lies the continent of Uyira, a land that since time immemorial has been split between three kingdoms: the plains dwelling kingdom of Atea who hold domain over the majority of the middle of the continent and its many water ways; the southern kingdom of Sunga who's domain consisted of blasted deserts, dangerous jungles, and mineral rich hills; and the kingdom to the north which lies heavily entrenched in the mountains, beyond the thick evergreen forests is Icucus. For over 300 years the Kingdoms of Atea and Sunga have had on and off wars against each other for territory, the Ateans attempting to take the mineral rich hills from the Sunganians and the Sunganians the fertile plains that the Ateans hold so dear. In every conflict Icucus has remained the neutral northern neighbor to Atea neither helping nor hindering the kingdom while it fights against its southern neighbor. However it seems everytime the maps of the kingdom boarders got redrawn Atea was always missing a bit of its northern boarder...

In recent years a peace treaty has been signed between the Ateans and the Sunganians and for the first time in generations the continent knows an time without war. Swords have been beaten into plows and the average farmer need not worry about an enemy army marching over his crop land at any given time. However even in times of peace there is conflict, army deserters from past wars, brigands and bandits, and the tribes of feral humanoids known as Laguz (who form tribes within each nation and are capable of shapeshifting) still create a reason for the nations to remain vigilant in maintaining their armed forces.

This is where our story begins...

The mode selection really was difficulty selection. How this tale progresses is up to you guys but there is a plot. You guys chose Impossible difficulty as such I have turned off your ability to see enemy’s HP, see ally’s HP, read your ally’s stats, and have made all bosses twice as tough.

=============

[-4 HP]

Pain… massive throbbing pain at the fore front of your mind. Your world is spinning as you struggle to catch your feet from falling out from under you. The sky is red and that might be from the fact that the sun already hangs low in the sky or the fact that you think you might have popped a blood vessel. As you stagger reeling from the blow you just received from the man yelling out a guttural roar as he charges towards you trampling the grass beneath his feet as he closes. *Swish* you gracefully dodge the swing of his iron hammer despite your possible concussion. Your foe raises his hammer once more to attempt to cave in your skull but as he does so you hear a *thunk* and the man falls over grasping at his throat as he gurgles for air his neck exposed and leaking blood as an arrow protrudes from both ends.

This battle field, it is one of your own creation. To prove yourself to your father you sought out to slay the bandit group known as the Brown-Triangle Company that had been terrorizing the village of Rhama near the western border, however as you were setting up for the night it seems the company decided to do another raid on the village. Now you and your friends and retainers are locked in pitch combat with the scoundrels and… “LOOK OUT!” you hear a voice yell as you turn to see another bandit charging you, you dodge the swing of his dagger and bring about to bare…

>Your long sword, as any upstanding warrior would use.
>Your lance, so that your enemy will get the point.
>Your axe, this’ll cut him down to size.

Lances in Fire Emblem includes spears and javelins you will get real lances later but for now…

With a flourish you spin your iron spear around in your hand, the motion feels almost natural for you, and shove forward with all your might impaling the bandit through the lungs, the light flickers from the man’s eyes as he slumps over on the ground dead. You yank the spear from the corpse of the bandit and survey the battle field.

Over to the side you see a yellow knight with a lance fighting two swords bandits, the man is wearing heavy armor and seems to be faring well. Off in the distance you see two cavaliers on horseback, one in red armor and the other in green armor wielding a lance and sword respectively harassing the bandit’s ranged forces. Another knight on horseback sits in the middle of the bulk of the enemy forces switching between a spear, sword, and axe as he cleaves man after man down in a flurry of carnage. The archer who saved you earlier is still pegging away at the enemies with precision just outside of their range as she seems to be headed over to assist the knight. Finally one more person in armor seems to be fighting a monster of a man (he has to be like 6’11”) in the midst of the combat, both are wielding swords, but the man-giant is clearly the leader of the bandits as he barks orders to his men .

You decide to go and assist the person who is taking on the boss of the bandits. You rush up to assist as the two clash blade upon blade and dodge each other’s blows deftly. As you approach your head starts hurting again, wait… you know these people… who is this fighting the big guy?

The warrior swings her long sword around yet again slicing a cut into the chest of the boss blood flying off in an arc, its superficial at best but it staggers the giant man.

“Argh, you little brat! I was thinking of keeping you alive as a pet but now…” the bandit boss says as he swings his blade once again at warrior. She deftly parries his strike but is knocked back by the force of the blow. Skidding backwards, and catching a glimpse of you from her peripheral vision.

“Hey I said I had this.” She says with a pout. “How am I supposed to prove my worth as your guard if you won’t let me pull my own…” she is interrupted as the boss bandit takes another swing at the two of you. It cuts in an arc missing you but cutting off the tips of her hair.

She looks over at you with a bit of indignation. “Fine, I could use your help.”

“Hey! Two v.s. One ain’t faih!” The bandit shouts as he prepares to swing his broad sword yet again.

The man manages to get past your defenses and his sword sinks into your side. [Hp -8] [Remaining: 8/20]

Luckily for you, your armor holds through the strike but you can’t help but have the wind knocked out of you. Even more luckily, you manage to hold onto your spear and as the mountain of a man attempts to regain his stance you strike him true, he goes wide eyed and coughs up blood. With him stuck on the end of your spear it becomes easy for your (apparent) guard girl to get in a free strike on the man cutting his arm off two inches below the shoulder. He reels backwards already half dis-armed, and most likely mortally wounded.
“N- No- No! I cannot die like this!” he sputters leaking blood from his mouth. “I will not die like this!” he yells fury in his eyes as he lunges forward in a desperation attack trying to cut you from head to toe with a one handed overhead strike.

The mountain of a man is sloppy his charge is a fool-hardy attempt of a man who is already dead. Stepping backwards you feel time slow as you spin your spear behind your back you bring it up to bare as the man gets within striking range. In a flash you strike forward with a yell and…

You spear him right through the head the tip entering through his open mouth and cleanly severing his spine at the base as it protrudes from the other end of his head, the strike seems to have punctured his brain case as well as it seems there is a bit of shattered skull and grey matter on the tip of the spear. With a little shove and a flick of your wrist you slide the bandit leader’s corpse off the end of your spear before spinning it once more flicking the blood and brain bits off the spear head with one fluid motion.

It seems that the lack of the bandit leader barking orders caught the attention of his men and after your spectacle of an execution of the bandits’ leader it seems none of them have the stomach for a fight anymore as they begin to scatter, your mounted allies riding down the slow and wounded capturing those they can incapacitate and killing the ones that put up one last ditch fight like their former boss did.

“Always the show off aren’t you?” your guard says with a huff. “But I guess that could have been me on the ground there if it weren’t for you. Some guard I’d be if I wound up dead on your first outing.” She says with a slight smile.

“My lord,” says multi-knight as he rides up alongside you. “we have routed the enemy. The day is ours… and you appear to be wounded.”

Oh that’s right, there is a large gash in your side… and your helmet is slightly caved in from the hammer user earlier. You remove your helm from your head so that you can down a vulnerary revealing…

You take off your helmet revealing your incredibly manly visage. Blood runs down your face from the wound on your forehead covering the right side of your face and dripping from your chin. You pop the top off of a vulnerary and down in one go. [HP +10] [HP Current: 18/20] Suddenly you feel reinvigorated and the wounds on your body begin stitching themselves up.

“So how many were there?” you ask the mounted multi-weapon user.

“There appears to have been twenty three opponents we fought today including their leader, my lord” the paladin says with a stoic tone to his voice. “We killed eleven of their number, captured four, and the rest routed into the wilderness.”

“Tch, a shame, but with these captives we may be able to find their strong hold.” You say as the other four members of your party walk and ride over to you.

“We did it!” the archer girl jumps happily up and down. “I can’t believe we did it!”

“Showed those bastards what for, serves them right for messing with the Royals of Atea.” The yellow knight says with a snide tone to his voice.

The cavaliers ride up and look at you then one another and nod without saying anything. They do not remove their helmets but you feel like they are happy with the outcome of todays events.

“It’s all thanks to our lord’s skill in combat.” The guard-girl says cheerily. “If I didn’t know better I’d say you don’t even need me as a bodyguard.” She continues, poking you in your uninjured side with her elbow.

You look over the group before you and your head hurts some more, it feels… like you are forgetting something… very important….“By the way,” you state flatly. “It seems that bump on my head was a bit worse than it appeared. So if you wouldn’t mind telling me. Who am I? And who are all of you people?”
