After being reborn in a world not unlike that of old fashioned RPGs, our MC has made friends with 2 princesses, a count, 2 succubi, a demon prince, 2 beastgirls (only 10% furry), been accepted as an honorary nomad, and started his own trading company.

Currently aged 12, Eldric is in the easternmost islands of the jade archipelago for business, looking to stablish a foothold on the island, with the help of its local merchant lords, as it is a strategic point right at the crossroads of trade between three continents.

Oh, he's also friends with at least 2 ninjas, and possibly 1 pirate.

Coming soon: cowboys and dinosaurs. Maybe robots
>>
>>36835230

And thus we get pirate island adventures today.

Didn't we start season 2 when we left Eopolis? Or is this just part 2 of season. 1.
>>
>>36835395
I was thinking about that, really. Should I call it season 2? its book2. But I usually name them seasons according to how many years its been running.

The XWF thread ran 3 years, for example

Also jsyk, im super blind now. Its hard to see anything so forgive me my typos please. Oh, maybe I could do something to fuse the ninja girls with the cowboys. If we threw some swimsuits and zombie fighting into the mix, we could get oneechanbara

Unrelated, but I read whats translated of overlord... the light novel is VASTLY different from the webnovel. Is there a link to the LN somewhere? looks like whoever its translating it has his/her plate full and I would like to give it a go

>I was thinking about that, really. Should I call it season 2? its book2. But I usually name them seasons according to how many years its been running.

Season 1, book 2, episode x.

Season could be years, book could be major arcs. Book 1 might as well be growing up, book 2 loks to be doing political shit in Makos home and maybe more.
>>
>>36835511
That seems alright. Let's wait a bit for other anons and then start. Maybe I could type some meanwhile and just leave the option open, then continue when there's 5+ votes

***

After returning to the ship, we find that Brass has gone down to stretch his legs together with Stella, Okaba is out in the market with Aura, and Asmund is playing chess with Honoria in the mess hall.

Lyann and Dawn have gone to the island to try and get some souvenirs of their own.

When we go into our room, Zoe is playing on the bed, talking to her Eldric plushies, having tea with them.

She has a lot of those.

"Welcome back~" ~she seems to sing as she spots us
"I'm back"

Eldric gives her a pat on the head and scratch her behind the ears until she starts squirming and purring, then go over to his desk and pull out one of the linked journals to let father know about the trip so far.

Zoe makes him a drawing of the ship and everyone on top of it. It's mostly stick figures. And the sun is smiling.

As time passes, our friends starts coming back to the ship until everyone is back for dinner.

Well, Asmund excuses himself and goes to his room. I guess the count doesn't eat, after all.

http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Overlord
Thats the revised light novel. It's vastly different from the light novel. Still reasing the web novel. Not sure if its better or not.
It's a mage. The MC is a mage
He reached max level and since he couldnt apply any more points to int, he applies them to str, so he's really strong. That's fine
But in the webnovel, he swings a sword and cuts a huge gaping hole on a gobling, cutting through flesh and all its ribs as if it was butter. Which... is fine, I guess. His new party colleagues go "ooh, he's really strong, uh?"

But in the LN he uses a huge two handed sword in one hand, and slices an ogre cleanly in two, and then another, and another... its such a huge difference. But the plot seems more fun and interesting in the LN, so I cant really say which one is better, yet.

It also has a manga which is just starting
http://bato.to/comic/_/comics/overlord-r14048
It follows the light novel, I think

>>36835611
The next morning, the nomad craftsman shows up, and is allowed in so he can start working on Mako's sculpture.

Well, even if it looks like they are alone, we are quite sure Ami and Mai are with her, so its fine.

We finally manage to make contact with one of the merchant lords Rojo (the hobbit) told us about, so we ask to meet him and, as the owners of an actual skyship, we are invited to meeting him that night.

Well, if we asked who'd want to come, Stella and Zoe would raise their hands no matter what. Still, it may be better to leave them on the ship? Nana Euphrosyne did lecture the two of them a lot about manners during our last vacation, tho, so it may be fine?

"Why would I be interested in a lowly merchant lord?" ~Asmund looks up from his book as he answeres
"This island has no higher authorities. The governor is just in charge of taxes and security. The merchant lords run most of the day to day of this place."
"Then get them all together first. In the same place. Talking to them one by one would be a pain. Can't we organize a party on the boat and just invite the lot of them?"
"I don't know if they would come. Maybe after tonight. If they think one of their rivals is likely to get ahead somehow..."
"Ah, I'm staying behind for tonight. Dawn, do you want to go with Eldric?"

"I didn't do it!" ~she gasps and scrambles what she was working on. It looks like something made of lots of little gears.

She wasn't paying any attention, was she? what was she planning, anyway? that girl is always planning a prank.

"Yes yes, what was it you didin't do?" ~says Asmund with a raised eyebrow
"Nothing?"
"Huh... do you want to go with Eldric to a dinner party?"
"Sure?"
"Alright. See? you can take Dawn if you want."

Okaba is coming, but only because he's interested in the local culture. Aura, as his bodyguard, is coming as well, of course.

Mako... she's not good at meeting new people. Actually, it may be better if nobody knows who she is? Well, she's staying.

Lyann is coming along, as is Honoria.

Its not as if we needed a bodyguard, but we can't think of any other way to explain Brass and Python's presence at the party, and they deserve to come along if they want.

The merchant lord's house is a building local, exotic woods.
Uhmm... well, they are exotic to us, but I guess they would be just local woods here?

Anyway, it is near a private beach and a small harbor and docks, where a large ship with multiple decks is anchored right now.

The merchant lord looks more like a wealthy pirate than a merchant. This is not the type of man who would get wealthy pushing pencils.

His clothes are in the local style, with white cotton pants and an open bright blue silken shirt, a sash of white silk wrapped around his hips, doubling as a swordbelt.

His chest's black skin shows off his golden jewelry nicely, and he has a large gold disk hanging from his right ear.

His hair is dark brown with a line of white at either side of the head, and his smile is toothy with a small ring on his lower lip.

"Ah, the young lords who arrived in the fancy ship, right? come on in, come on in! such dashing, handsome young men. Oooh, what beautiful ladies!"

Okaba is also interested in conversation, but he does sample anything new or interesting from time to time, after Aura gives it the okay, of course.

Lyann is adorning our side, and is also passing on eating.

Zoe, Stella and Dawn will probably get a tummy ache, regardless of poison or not. These three are just too gluttonous

"You have a lovely house" ~says Honoria as she does a graceful curtsy despite her armor
"Thank you, princess. It is my pride, really."

As we chat, we find out that he's a exporter and importer of building materials. There are numerous woods on the island which do not grow elsewhere. Aromatic wood that is preferred by the nobles of the southwestern continent for furniture, strong dark woods which are coveted for musical instruments in both Eopolis and Alquia, as well as a few valuables which are hard to find in the continents, such as pearls and coral.

He imports exotic foods and clothes, with the Heavenly Empire providing superior quality silk, and the eastern continent adding marble and precious jewelry.

"Oh, but you don't deal with my people directly, do you?" ~asks Honoria
"No, I am afraid no, princess. My crew only goes as far as the shore, so unless your realm has a beach, I very much doubt so"

for example, when you press backspace? sometimes instead of deleting a letter it actually counts as if you pressed the back button (its hardcoded shortcut for back button in all browsers and only disabled when you are in a "typing box".

Doing it at home would be even dumber.

A female governor is a governess? not sure in english

***
"Well, it is about time, I guess? the other guests should be arriving soon." ~says the merchant
"I was a little worried about that, to be honest"

Almost as if on cue, the butler announces the arrival of the governor and her husband.

The governor is a retired eopolitan officer, assigned to this position after a long career in the navy.

She looks quite strong for an old lady, and she must have been quite beautiful in her prime. Her long golden hair is carefully braided and collected in a sailor's style, just like that of the crew members with long hair you have seen so often during your trip so far.

She is wearing her uniform spotlessly, complete with her service saber and hand crossbow. Her husband looks chubby but smart, with fine clothes and robes waving down his body, their darker color a nice contrast to his white hair and small, golden spectacles.

"It is a pleasure to meet you" ~the husband introduces his wife. the lady Annya Strovoscha, before introducing himself as Peter Strovoscha.

He doesn't assign himself any title. Is he a humble man, despite his showy clothes? or is he just working hard to make his wife look all the more important?

"It is a pleasure to meet you" ~the lady Annya greets everyone politely

After them, several local figures in the arts show up, mostly musicians and painters as well as a few writers. It looks as if our host has invited the cream of the local cultural and political scene, but none of his merchant rivals.

Governess is not used when referring to a woman in the political office of Governor.
The term "governess" means a woman who is hired as a private tutor and caretaker of children in a household.

The words refer to two very different positions, even though they look like they're related.

>>36837244
Well, apparently it is common belief among musicians that the instruments made out of the island's exotic woods are in some ways better, so it makes a modicum of sense that the most famous musicians would be here, creating a hotpot of musical theory.

The governor is interested in news from the capital. She has sent a request for small rockit ships to use as patrol boats for the area, but so far her requests have been denied.

"These islands are of vital importance for the contined domain of Eopolis in the trade routes going and coming across these waters, yet the capital insists that they need all rockitships to patrol the continental territory. If it hadn't been for the fleet, the empire would have had an easy time supplying and reinforcing their army, and the war would have gone very differently"

The old lady sighs, and takes a sip of her drink

"But, rather than a larger ship, I believe a few fast rockit ships, able to quickly spot a pirate ship and then report back to the fleet in order to guide us to them, would be of far greater use. I plan to call them dolphin ships, but the merchant lords are against spending money on safety" ~she says with a rather heavy sigh

"Honestly, my dear governor. We already pay taxes, why should we spend money from our pocket to help fund a service we already paid for?" ~our host says as he emerges from behind the crowd, somehow.

The governor and him exchange glares for a minute, but it looks like our host comes out on top.

"We haven't had pirate troubles in decades" ~says our host~ "The fleet has always been more than adequate for our humble needs"

"The fleet just went through a major war recently. We are underfunded for repairs, and at less than half our normal strength. It is an open invitation for the return of piracy in these waters!" ~says the governor

"Oh, you worry too much. I am sure the fine crewmen under your command are more than up to the task"

"If we happen to run into them, yes. But it is a big sea out there, sir Limon" ~oh, that's actually the first time we hear our host's name, come think of it

"Now, you are just worrying my guest, governor. Please, if you'd excuse us"

Our host takes us away, assuring us that there has been no pirate problems for well over 40 years.

"Besides, unless they learn to fly, I don't see how they could be a problem to your ship, am I right?" ~he says with a wide smile~ "In fact, I would like to discuss about the cost of using your ship's services. Do you charge by square feet, or by weight? a flying ship... is weight a problem?"

>By square meter. The storage isin't unlimited, and weight is not a problem
>By kilo. You export and import heavy materials, right?
>Other
>>
>>36837598

I think ordering a few small, ultra high speed ones would be good. Trade will increase, no need for expimental stuff though. I expect as the Rockit ships incease in number, we should expect to see air pirates in a few years. Buy a few high speed ones and they can pick apart sea trade.
>>
>>36837714
before we answer to him, we gotta ask. IS weight an issue?

Also, I know that in modern shipping, companies have a conversion ratio and use the greater of the two.
That is, if you are shipping pillows, it goes by size, if you are shipping gold it goes by weight.
>>
>>36837779
This, he's right too. We want to maximize our profits like any good merchant, it depends on the package.
>>
>>36837714
>>By square meter. The storage isin't unlimited, and weight is not a problem

unless its bulk ore/hard woods then its by weight

this way smaller luxery goods are cheep to move and industry would still needs boats on water that way we don't completely crush the economy here
>>
>>36837779
>>36837808
I just remembered, there is extradimensional storage like the item box. doesn't that really mess up shipping costs?

>>36837853
See, the thing is, what if someone literally ships pillows? they can fill your entire hold for practically nothing and you lose money on the trip. Or literally shipping lead balls, you might need several trips since it exceeds ship capacity.
That is why you have two prices, one for weight, one for size, and go with the more expensive of the two for each shipment
>>
>>36837779

Weight per cubic meter limit, whatever is greater?

>>36837714

Decline to specify currently. Advise him that since the it is a new service, we are slowly working out percise costs.

Also, we have currently been moving more time sensitive goods. The speed advantage is important.
>>
>>36837714
Another important question is, how do regular ships charge? if they charge exclusively by size or weight than it makes a difference as to how we should charge
>>
>>36837779
>IS weight an issue?
Took the chance to bug the engineer friend that helped me come up with rockit. He says no. The idea is that rocking creates an area where gravity is redirected, so mass is not as important as size.

Also, weight = mass (local g), apparently (i studied economy, not physics so dont sue me for not knowing that off the top of my head)

This also means rockit ships are crazy maneuverable
>>
>>36837882
>extradimensional storage like the item box
noone knows how to create artificial storage space. It is a class, and sometimes a job, feature.
>>
>>36837897
>Weight per cubic meter limit, whatever is greater?
this sounds fine.
We dont really worry about weight, but most means of transport do, so we can get away with it if we want to
>>
>>36837942

Well then, we charge on cubic volume, currently. Based on demand.

After we get back, talk about the need for guards/security. I expect to see rockit sky pirates in the skies of tommrrow.
>>
How should we charge a trader that uses employees that have Item Boxes to get around the weight/volume fees?

By the level of the person's Class?
Combined Item Box storage space?
>>
>>36837882
>>36837959

well dungeon hearts do the whole extra definitional space thing with enough research into them perhaps we could create a item box for ships?

perhaps a way to connect and disconnect one making double the internal space?
then changeling its power it would use to create monsters to extra the ship entrenchments like cloud cover generators or potion creation fountains
>>
>>36837942
hmmm, interesting. Well if weight is completely irrelevant to us... the question is, do we still charge for it because we can. Or do we charge entirely by volume which is what matter

>>36837959
What i meant is that it might be cheaper to make a passenger ship full of people with the slave class and an item box full of heavy stuff in extradimensional space instead

totally unrelated but its summer here and the sun is hitting the room HARD. Ugh i hate HOT days. In case of cold I can just put more clothes on. In case of heat? fucked

Uhmm... I imagine item boxes have been used for ages as a way to save space when shipping stuff. Of course, that has its downsides. If the transporter gets kidnapped, you lose all the cargo at once. Its easier to steal a person

***
"Based on size of the cargo. Of course, if it is something impossibly heavy, you'll have to load it and unload it yourself. But honestly, I am more interested in starting trade routes of our own"

We ask Lyann to hand us a cold beer for lord Limon, and check his expression as he tries it.

"Aaah, this is amazing. Young man, are you trying to sell liquor to sailors? isin't that an easy business? Oh, and by the way..."

He leads us somewhat away from the crowd

"I believe we all agree that indiscriminate piracy would be terrible for business, but what do you know about privateers? the lady governor is right, our navy is in shambles. Why not privatize the business of creating trouble for the Alquian business?"
>>
>>36838159
>How should we charge a trader that uses employees that have Item Boxes to get around the weight/volume fees?
not having "sardine class" passenger ships. They have to pay actual cruise fees for said employees, limiting its value.

so it becomes more practical to ship things via freight instead

I don't actually have the authority to approve something like that...

actually, doing regular unapproved of piracy but only against the alquian empire might be a thing we could do. but it seems to me that we have better things we can do if we want to take care of them.

"Oh, perhaps the young lord is not the adventurous type I was lead to believe you were. Well then, could I inquire about your immediate plans?"
"We are heading towards the west, hoping to stablish trading relationships with the Heavenly Empire. Hopefully, our cold liquor and other goods will be of interest to them"
"Indeed. Well, then I could perhaps rent some of your cargo space? I have goods I would be interested in having delivered quickly and safely"
"Perhaps on our next trip. We still don't know how powerful the winds and local creatures are, thus I cannot guarantee either at the moment. Once we have at least done 1 round trip, things will be different, of course"
"Of course."

We talk with our host for a while, and eventually he agrees to help us distribute some of our cold beer to the city.

"Would the liquor come with containers to keep it properly cold?"
"Yes, of course. These will need guards, of course"
"Obviously. You can't simply leave booze lying around in the docks and hope for the best"

After talking with sir Limon for a while, we excuse ourselves and go to the balcony for some air.

"Eldric, what is it?" ~Lyann quickly walks over to us
"The man's a pirate, or works as a front for pirates!"
"Then why did you got him to help you distribute the beer? couldn't we do it ourselves?"
"If he wasn't in on it, there's a very good chance something would have happened to the coolers. No, it's better to have him on our side"
"I see"

Our beautiful childhood friend takes our fruit juice off our hand, sips it down and places the empty cups on the edge of the balcony before taking our hand.

"...alright"

She guides Eldric's hand to her waist, and slowly waltz with him on the balcony, the light from the party showering the both of them through golden curtains as they dance.

"We are not even outside the coalition yet, don't let the intrigues of small merchant lords worry you, my lord"
"You know I don't like it when you address me like that."
"It is only proper for events like this. It would still be appropiate even if we were blood, my lord"
"You are enjoying it, tho. Aren't you?"
"I can't?"
*sigh* "It's not just the policies of a merchant lord in the middle of nowhere. It bothers me that we have this type of people on our side"
"I see" ~she's smaller, but she's still guiding the dance.
"You don't really worry about it, do you?"
"No, not one bit. It takes all sorts to make a people, I think. Isn't this proof that even our criminals are of a better cut than those elsewhere, my lord?"
"Please stop the lord thing. And I don't like seeing ill gotten gains as a path to wealth."
"Isn't there is a great crime behind every great fortune."
"I don't have to like it, tho" ~Eldric gently spins her, and then pulls her to him again
"Worry about rescuing princesses, slaying monsters, and making peace between countries. I believe petty criminals are not what you are here for, ~my lord~" ~she says with a smile as the music stops, then gets up on her tiptoes and smooches Eldric very gently~ "Let's go back inside. I'm sure you'll like talking to the lady Annya. There's also a great number of artists and smart people. You'll have fun, I promise"
"Only if you stop the lord thing"
"No deal!" ~she says with a bright smile

They all have their countdown stopped. Well, looking at the way they are spread about, it seems obvious some bodies have already sublimated. There's a few items here and there, so not all the attackers were human, either.

We hurriedly make our way into the ship. The crew is on high alert, and the captain welcomes us in a hurry.

"Young lord, could you please stop them?"

As it turns out, Asmund is arguing with Brass

"I'm not going to let you make them into monsters" ~says Brass
"Why not? they already attacked us. When you try to kill someone, it is implied you are ready to die"
"They aren't dead."
"A technicality. I just stopped their countdown timers"

"What happened? and spare me the obvious" ~says Eldric
"Ah, welcome back. I was suggesting I turn a few of them into my minions and have them talk, in fact"
"You don't need to do that just to question them!" ~objects Brass
"Oh, but torturing a poor guy until he talks is fine? that doesn't seem the least bit cynical to you? Just two. We ask a few questions, and you can then destroy them or whatever"

God damn wannabe pirates. Personally I don't see any difference between having them made into Asmunds minions or resurrecting them and dumping them on the authorities, where they would likely end up someone elses slaves.

I would correct Brass that they would not be monsters. As that would imply Asmund is and he is not one.

Do we have any of th ose tru th collars around? We can always res 1 of them, slap the collar on, find out the boss, res him, slap a collar on thwn just turn them over as only survirors. Otherwise let asmund do his thing. I don't think this was a coincidence.

>>
>>36839449

Actually we already solved this problem. We had already previously created a special cursed bracer that forces someone to tell the truth. so if resurrected we could question them that way.

Also, what do you mean by turning them into minions? what kind of minions?
>>
"Listen, er don't have the extra room, you can't just add people to the crew"
"Alright, then what do you want to do? I'm against torture"
"Let's just put them in a slave collar and make it so they can't lie"
"You can't do that on coalition soil. They haven't been found guilty yet" ~says the captain
"Well, alright... what about international waters, or air, whatever."
"That would work"

8 miles up later...

These were alquian agents, with the double objective of seizing the ship, and/or escaping with Mako.

The Alquians had been studying us for a while, and the head of their local cell decided that with almost everyone away, it was the perfect time to strike.

Obviously, they did not had data on Brass or Asmund, which costed them all of their manpower.

"Well, what do we do?" ~asks Okaba
"With?"
"Trying to steal a ship is definitively an act of war, should we report it?"
"Of course we should"
"It could spark another war"

"Honestly, I'd say the coalition is in a position of strength. We have the advantage, we should strike now. But, the decision is not up to us. All we can do is our duty, which is to report the attack" ~says Alard. Our cousin had been protecting Mako while Brass and Asmund took out the assailants
"Even if there is no war, this could still have political value" ~says Asmund~ "Let's report it and be done with it."

Your group decides to report the attack, and let the government decide what happens after it.

You take the collar off the prisoner's neck, and they are delivered to the authorities.

The next day, we receive invitations from pretty much every merchant lord in the city. It looks like we are suddenly famous.

Well, the governor is not happy about us interrogting the men before they had a chance to be properly processed, but we claimed that some of the attackers were still hiding when we took off, and it was pretty much no man's land when they attacked.

About a week later, we leave port towards the next populated island.

The Ember begins heading almost dtraight to the west. The day is quite nice, so the captain decides to keep the ship just a couple of miles above sea level, allowing us to enjoy the sight of the islands under the ship.

There will be about two weeks of nothing but sea once we leave the islands behind, so we should enjoy the sight while there is one.

While looking down at the islands far below, we notice an incredible sight.

A ship is being attacked by a giant squid! the beast is so massive its tentacles are wrapped around the masts and the deck, truly a mythical beast!

Keep the ship out of tentacle range, an have casters fire spells at it.

Bring out Mr. snippy (our crab pet) and our mount.
Get on our dragon, and tell it to fly us closer, we want to hit the kraken with our sword!

Another point in favor of keeping the rockit ship high above range and paratrooping down to help is that if the ship gets damaged, we can't rescue the people there properly.

"Some. Turning into swarms of bats. Not my thing, however. I could jump down to it, same as everyone else, tho"
"Oh c'mon, wouldn't a kraken vampire be an awesome minion?"
"Yeah... no"
"Fine, just stay up here and blast it, then"

As you head down, you find that it's tentacles have insane reach. You get a few surprise shots in, but soon it tries to reach for you and swat you off the air!

Flying between the reaching tentacles is harder and harder as the thing starts dedicating more attention to you...

While making another pass over it to try and hit it with a spell, our dragon spins fully towards the right, causing Lyann to let out a yell as she clings to us while we cast.

"I don't like this!" ~she shouts while clinging tightly
"Don't worry, we are jumping now!"
"Alri-whaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAA!!!!" ~her words turn into a scream as we pick her up and jump down unto the kraken, doing our best to kick one of its enormous eyes as we do so.

"Faaaaalcoooon kiiiiiiiick!" ~we shout while kicking it on the ox-sized eye
"Waaaaaah!" ~Lyann cries out as she clings to us~ "IhateyouIhateyouIhateyouIhateyouIhateyou" ~shouts Lyann until we let her down~

The kraken shivers from the power of our kick, but it is no more hurt than if someone had poked our eye.
Its tentacles, massive and thicker than trees, raise almost instantly to fetch us!

A powerful sword swing creates a huge gash on the tentacle, but it is only as deep as the sword is long!

The tentacle smacks us against the body like we would squish a mosquito against our arm. The sound of a colossal slap sounds like a sonic boom around the site, our body literally squizing and stretching and then bouncing as if we were made of rubber.

Still, it looks far worse than it was, but there's no doubt it had been a long time since the last time anything did real damage to us.

"Eldric!" ~Lyann too, is smacked flat over the kraken.

Coughing up bilis, bone and blood, we get up and get ready!

Lyann oes her best to try and debuff it, but its defenses are just too high. It is rather amazing, in a way.

Okaba uses a dragonforce against its left side, leaving a deep, smoking crater along its body.

Your own dragonforce blows and burns a chunk of its head, and the creature lets out a horrible, inhuman cry as your magical might is frying its flesh.

The scent of BBQ¿d squid fills the air for hundreds of meters. There is not even blood, because your spells burnt and cauterized the wounds.

It lets go of the ship, albeit breaking its main mast in the process, and sinks almost instantly into the sea, even tho due to its enormous size, it drags you and Lyann along with it on its descent to the depths!

>>
>>36843428
>I have no idea why they felt the need to call for that
probably because they bumped you already before, causing you to lose your appointment.
so they are reassuring you it won't happen again
>>
>>36843508
It wont be the surgery just yet. I think
>>
>>36843428
What's the kraken do if we shove it into an item?

well, its just a beast. It doesnt really has any special powers, Let me think

Shield
Absorb [Water]
Weakness [Wind]

Weapon
[Daze] On hit. Opponent can perform only a single action on his turn.
>>
>>36844285
well, previously you said that the weapon stuff it gives scales by level. and this is level 100

but meh. its fine as a non weapon. We can still go "release the kraken!" in combat.
In fact, if we do end up in war with alquran again, our navy is at 50% strength from the last one... well, we could help by using our pet kraken on their ships.
>>
>>36844285

I think the big thing for him, is if we are in a water area, ocean, lake or anything else, we just let the Kraken loose and watch the enemy shit itself.

Most ship crew, 16k hp may as well be a wall. Lot of people are in the 15-30 single job area.

Of course everyone got xp for downing a level 100 mob too, unless capturing it did not reward xp.
>>

>Of course everyone got xp for downing a level 100 mob too
They didn't down it, they got slaughtered by it and then a passing high level adventuring party took it down...
which raises a big question about how kill stealing works in this world, as well XP division on a shared kill by non party members
>>
>>36844359
Yes, but that was with Miel, a faery, and Atroma, a dragon, both of which have special abilities.
What special and magical abilities would a squid have? smash and smash harder? I guess you could throw ink out of the weapon, maybe?
>>36844387
But I wonder about it. I mean, we were all hitting it, its split amongst a lot of people
>>
>>36844285
I think its sheer weight, and size are it's best quality.

>small-ish or medium room
>Throw seashell/charm into battlefield
>Squidward, I choose you!
>BAM, instant 4+ tons of squidflesh getting in everyone's way.
>>
>>36844434
I think the exp should go to whoever did the highest damage % to it.

That way if you did 90% of the damage and someone kill steals the last 10%, you still get the exp and loot

i dont think it would fit... should the summon fail if there's not enough room?

You point your Sword Forward, Yell 'Release The Kraken!' and multiple tons of kraken comes charging out of your sword as a ranged attack.

Not much really, unless you give it something like multiple normal melee attacks, like a kraken has.

ink is one. or insanity iya iya cthulu
I am just joking, I am fine with it not having powers. it kinda makes sense since it has no innate magic instead its just obscene large and physically strong. So we basically get to use it like a pokemon at sea
>>
>>36844542

See an enemy vessel from the air, Jump off, summon the Kraken, use it to land on the enemy ship?

Kraken Burial?

what about that pick the players came up with for the golden dragon mount wouldn't that make a good eldric card
>>
>>36845392
what?
>>
>>36845433

The golden dragon summon. Would it make a good enchantment for Eldric.

We gonna go find out we saved a pirate ship probably, right?
>>
>>36845451
wouldnt it be funnier if it was an Alquian ship, tho?
>>
>>36845451
So? The kraken was a threat to everyone, so what if we saved some pirates everyone can breathe easier now that we have it in our possession.

Besides, always good to have a pirate captain in your debt.

Funniest would be Alquian pirates, or people who were going to try and kidnap Mako again.
>>
>>36845473
then we re-release the kraken
>>
>>36845520
better yet the kidnapers escape boat encase the airship got damaged.
>>
>>36845473

Be a bit far for an Alquian ship, since there shipping got badly railed in the war.

I expect there to be Sky Pirates sooner then people think. We should take a more concentrated effort to expand sky ship building too, with some fast cruiser designs for pirate and other hunting.

Would Eldric know what a Ramjet engine is, and maybe how it is shaped roughly? Could he influence them to make a magical version of one?

What happens if you create an Aerodynamic Rockit ship, then go ahead and load it up with a few Magical Ramjet engines?

Wind magic for intake and compression, fire to heat the air a lot as it exits. Maybe fireball magic for combustion and it leaves then engine.

>>What happens if you create an Aerodynamic Rockit ship, then go ahead and load it up with a few Magical Ramjet engines?

fully encase in 3/4 inch lead make space ship?
>>
>>36846089
I asked the friend I based Eldric off

"This is out of my field. Not an aerospace engineer you know"

So there you go
>>
>>36847745

Figures. Maybe we should instead just introduce them to the ideas of thrust and a wind tunnel when we go there. Is there advanced math (algebra, trig and calculus) so people can start putting together math models, or is that something that only Aura has in her head currently?
>>
>>36847979
>Introduce 2d and 3d calculus
>Factories full of slaves manually running math simulations with pen and paper.
>considered INT training
how horrible
>>
>>36847979
we should start writing math books I would love a deep conversation about math with Aura as every one else looks on shocked.

You know, I was playing around with this idea a few days ago.

"Do they use indian/arabian numerals? probably no, right?"
Thus
"So what if their symbols are different? they'll be alright as long as they have a zero and different symbols for numbers between 0 and 9 instead of words or something like roman numerals"
Thus
"Fuck, who says they dont have something better? maybe in a world where magical theory works, people use a 8 digit symbol?"
Also:
"I really want them to use a system similar to our, tho, so i can keep making math jokes using Aura, and her search for the malehood, as a running joke as she tries to deduce the valor of malehood through math"

Anyway, im going to bed. See you tomorrow guys

octal math? I approve
>>
>>36848173
No, we go deeper: Hex Math.

Everything is done in base 16.
