>B: Contact with the higher powers and ask them for the permits

You understood the stubbornness of the Skitarii. That place was nothing like a normal training grounds, there was surely a lot of weaponry and secrets that they wanted to keep away from regular and untrustworthy humans. Even if you didn't entered never in the training grounds you heard some stuff about it.

There were rumours about servitors who were already too damaged to be repaired being released and the Mechanicum warriors hunting them down or even gladiatorial battles who were rewarded with a new weapon, implant or maybe even a small glimpse of a blueprint.

The two strong and imposing Skitarii seemed to share a though and then both walked one step in unison. Ending the conversation and asking us to move away.

"It seems that while I can access you three cannot. I could try talking with a higher level administrator for a special permit"

There was a small conflict on your mind. Your electronic brain said that the chances of getting the permit were slim but your mind hoped for the best and thought that a one day permit wouldn't be hard at all. You started looking at the database of administrators to find the closer one and thinking about this mental conflict. If you still had the chip on working condition you would not have even tried negotiating with them on the first place. You were little more than a slave.

Soon the group is again walking and descending towards the even more warmer and claustrophobic corridors of the forge. Luckily for you their Hive origins makes them don't become stressed by this and they seem to be pretty relaxed about their environment.

"How many training have you received so far?" You asked in a intent of starting a new conversation and also trying to gather data about their skills to improve the training for them.

"Well...we trained for a couple of weeks before getting on the ship. Once inside we cannot shoot any weapon that isn't a shotgun because of the risk it brings and after a month of travel and another month of provisioning ourselves I feel like I have forgotten pretty much everything they taught us." Said Arwa.

"Yup, we only trained in close combat and did cooking and cleaning duties. Not a pleasure cruise indeed Sparkyboy"

Your group was then in front of a small spherical elevator that could took you four into the laboratory of Rezna Varada. The woman who was in charge of the sector the training grounds were located in and the most logic person to ask to.

>A: Go alone, this is your fault
>B: Bring them with you, they might be useful to convince her.
>C: Desist and try to teach them more theoretical knowledge about their weapons and equipment.

Damm seems like today is gonna be a slow day :(

>B: Bring them with you, they might be useful to convince her.

You open the door for them and assure that it is safe. The door closes with a alarm sound and a mechanical whistle as it becomes airtight. Then a countdown starts flashing in a pictographer installed inside with the Message "Countdown towards optimal decompression: 05 minutes

"Why do we need to decompress ourselves?" Asks Munir with some worrying expression and his dark face getting more pale by moments.

"Magos Rezna Varada has her laboratory installed in some subaquatic caves. She studies the effects of radiation cleaning by the use of massive quantities of water and tries to find a better way of cooling the cores of Warp drives. Those caves are connected with many other under the crust of the planet and she can work knowing that the everflowing current will clean the radiation means and makes us be able to dump all our nuclear chemicals onto her workgrounds."

"So...let me get this straight Sparks. We are going to some water filled caves under a massive forge and on top of that that water is totally radioactive?"

"Technically yes, that's correct."

Khaliid, the blonde guardsman started getting nervous and tried to exit the sphere to no effort. A minute later the vehicle descended with a loud vibration and pressure screeching, the poor guy started screaming and peed himself. Both his companions comforted him while I stood on my seat all of the time unsure of what to do and why did he act that way.

When the descent was over he was nothing but a shivering youngling mumbling to himself. He had to stay on the vehicle as his knees were way too weak to walk.

Rezna's lab was dark and humid, there where small water leaks on almost every wall and everything had at least some rust on it. The only sound where the buzzing of the Geiger counters and the bubbles that exploded on the exterior, from time to time a barrel being dropped and hitting bottom floor could be heard too.

"W-WHOS THERE!?" Asked a toothless mouth with a mixture of fear and curiosity.

"I am techpriest Heracor, along with me come the Guardsmen Munir Razwa, Arwa Harrorum and Khaalid Mirze. We are here to ask for a permission to use the Skitarii training grounds for a period of 24 standard hours"

From the shadow the Administrator appeared, she was a really old woman whose lower body was fitted with spider like legs and whose back was totally covered by different working tools. Her unmodified body was pale and veiny, her belly was inflated and her robes were loose and tear, her head was totally sick looking and hairless. She seemed to have contracted radiation poisoning but since she didn't contacted anybody nothing was done about it.

"OUR SKITARII WARRIORS HAVE THE NEED TO TRAIN ON THOSE GROUNDS TO DEFEND THE PRINCIPLES OF THE OMNISSIAH AND THE MACHINE SPIRITS THAT FORM FROM THESE IDEAS WHY SHOULD I LET YOU GIVE YOU PERMISSION!?"

The way she spoke made her look like if every sentence was a fear filled question.

>A: "Those guardsmen have shown natural interest on the Omnissiah, they only seek to learn more about the machine spirits of their lasrifles."
>B: "I will work alongside them to defend those ideas and machines like the Skitarii will do. Them and I need to put our skills to test to increase our chances of survival in at least 20%"

"Those members of the Imperial guard have shown interest in the teaching and learning of the Omnissiah to protect me and themselves better in the event of war. If we practice before leading towards our battlezone the survival chance will increase exponentially and besides it seems that the training grounds aren't being used"

She still seemed to doubt

"I DO NOT HAVE ANY CONSTANCE OF THOSE TRAINING GROUNDS BEING USED OR UNUSED. WHAT I KNOW FOR SURE IS THAT THOSE AREAS ARE FORBIDDEN FOR A GOOD REASON"

"Since when didn't you moved from this laboratory? I know that every time you need a resource or nutrients they are being sent by the same bathysphere we came in. You seem to have been focusing way too many time on your research to the point of not attending the machine spirits of this place and your body itself. Look at this place, it is only a few decades away of being crushed under the weight of the sea for lack of maintenance...You would be probably dead of radiation poisoning by then and all your research would become lost under all this radioactive sea, unable to be retrieved and probably forgotten with the pass of time. What kind of Administrator would permit that?"

Rezna's arachnid legs seemed to fail and tremble from the honestly of his words. Since she gained power she only focused on working and barely attended other requests. The techpriests ended ignoring her and asking help to other Administrators when needed but Heracor choose to come to her due to time necessities.

"MY ENTIRE WORK WOULD BE L-LOST!?"

"If you give me the permission I will inform not of your health problems or your managing failures but of the lack of help. You clearly need servitors and techpriest who maintain and clean for you while you research"

She looked around and for the first time in years seemed to notice the state of disrepair that her lab had. If she still had lachrymal glands she would have probably cried.

"VERY WELL..."

Sorry for keeping you waiting, my wifi died. Omnissiah forgive me

She advanced towards a cogitator and issued the permit on my personal profile. Your people returned in silence, they seemed awestruck of your acting and how well you did it, Munir was simply happy of returning to the surface.

Once up the Skitarii simply moved away, after scanning again him and let him free way.

The training grounds was a great rectangle divided on many small and perfect squares and a small tower that could be used to set the squares on different heights and thus simulate some kind of terrain. There was a bullseye placing servitor and also some drones that could be used to practice aerial targeting among many other things.

>A: Study the tower controls to create the perfect environment and then practice with them
>B: Leave the ground plain and just place bullseyes and to see their accuracy
>C:Try to spar with them instead, they already know some close combat trick, you might learn.

The soldiers advance towards the practice grounds and you walk towards the tower instead. While ascending on the towers elevator you send a urgent message about Rezna's problems, you say how the machine spirits she kept where in pain but it wasn't too late to save it all +10 Loyalty points

Once inside the control cabins you check all the buttons, there are settings not only to elevate the ground but also make it more slippery or rough and even control the temperature and humidity of the air.

You lower the humidity and increase the temperature trying to reenact the deserts of their homeplanet and then create a small irregular pyramid.

"Try to ascend towards the top" You yell with using the speakers. The still young and fit soldiers then race towards the higher levels.

The young girl Arwa Harrorum seems to be the most urban one of the three as she is able to pull some impressive acrobatic feats and use the height differences on her advantage and climb like a insect across the vertical walls.

Munir Razwa. The most cold headed and de facto leader walks and analyses, walks and analyses. He would have been a good techpriest or general if given the chance. He will not be the first one getting on top but will be the one who does it in the most safe and logic way.

And lastly the still pant pissed Khaalid Mirze tried to take the challenge as a race and climbed as fast as he could jumping gaps and doing dangerous somersaults. You were worried of him getting hurt, partly because the guy itself but mainly because you would have to explain it to Oihan...

After a hour and a half it was finally Arwa the one who made on top first. Surprisingly for you Munir instead of advancing higher moved towards Khaalid and helped him getting up even if that meant that he would be the last one of climbing.

"YEAAAAAAHHH!!" Yelled the excited blonde

"G-good work" You said from the speaker system still baffled by his scream.

Should you continue testing or let them control the tower and be you the one who tests instead?
>A: Continue, this might bring you good data about human warrior behaviour
>B: Let Arwa place the next setting as she has "won"
>C: Munir seems to be the most wise of the three, letting him control the settings might be interesting.

With some swift movement you descend the pyramid until it is totally flat. You ask Munir to come towards your tower and tell the other two that they can rest. Like a good soldier he does what he has been asked and immediately starts advancing towards the tower's elevator. Once on top you show him the basic controls and you two do together a chanting to pleasing towards the machine, he seems to don't mind the chanting and learns the controls fairly quick.

When the elevator door opens you see the other two in front of the door kinda surprised, they seemed to be expecting their friend instead of me.

"I have instructed Munir of the logistics of the controls. I trust him in created a good training for us."

"Weren't we supposed to shoot things?" Asked Khaalid while her companion just shrugged

You moved without answering and saw the borders of the square ascending towards a really high level, the insides shifting into a labyrinth.

"I have made the walls to be totally smooth, there is no way of climbing. There are three entrances and once you are inside I will open the exit. Also, Heracor if I catch you using some electric apparatus to cheat I will mess with your head and lock you inside."

You didn't knew him well enough to distinguish between a joke or a real threat but you didn't want to risk yourself and promised to not cheat. He instructed each of us to a separate entrance and then sealed the walls behind us.

There was a long corridor ahead. You walked slowly and softly touched the walls to feel the smoothness and barely surface resistance that they offered with great curiosity and delight. At the end of the corridor a bifurcation.

I have a pic of a labyrinth and the position of the tree guys in my head so no worries

>To the right. 50% chance you are right
It is your human part the one who ends choosing as your electronic one cannot decide between two perfect 50% options. The right corridor leads to another straight corridor who suddenly starts to turn into a series of twisting corners. All those places seem equal even for someone with special eyes and memory like you but then you find someone else.

"Oh hey Sparks!" Says Khaliid.

"Do you have any idea of where the exit is?" I politely ask him.

"Nah, that's the point of labyrinths. We should try to find Arwa thought, she was a total rat girl back in the underhives or Miceria. I'm sure she can take us out of here in no time." He grabs me and takes me towards another corridor that you surely thought he choose at random.

"She has a future as a scout and geographical cartographer it seems."

"Yeah...Seems like both she and Mr.Mazemaker can have a good place in the IG if they are lucky."

"How about you? Is there any role were you fit?"

"Shit...I doubt it. I am the soon of a rich merchant and I thought I would heir his business and work. Then one day a conscription card came and everything went to hell."

You two advanced in silence for about five minutes more.

"Warfare is not all about shooting and fighting. There needs to be people who control the supply lines and stablish mercantile relationships with all kinds of people. What did your father work with? Maybe you could get him to supply the Guard and get benefits for both sides"

His eyes seemed to lighten for a second but then he looked grim again.

"My father works with crystals and mirrors...I mean there is sand pretty much everywhere. He makes beauty with after refining that sand, I doubt there's any profit in there."

"Oh but mirrors and crystals are pretty much everywhere in the guard. There are different optics on some lasgun patterns and I am sure every land, sea and air vehicle needs windows of some sort...Mirrors can be used for the construction of lasers but obviously we cannot tell your father how to do them, he would have to send us the sand.

"Hey, it's not a bad idea... I meant is not as classy as doing glass stained windows for the Ecclesiarchy but it will be profitable as well!"

You nod twice and let him lead the way. It was obvious he felt happy now and giving him the leadership would even improve his mood. Out of pure luck and trial and error repeating we ended finding Arwa who was waiting for us.

"I found the exit thirty minutes ago, how can you two still be in there, the maze is not so hard c'mon!"

"You waited for us?" I asked as she took us to the exit

"Well duh, If I didn't Khaalid and you would have ended starving and dying in there."

"Thanks doll" Answered him

"Yes, thank you Rat-girl" You say in the politest tone that your artificial voice can muster.

She stopped and turned around looking angry.

"What did you call me?"

"I did call you rat girl. Is it incorrect that you used to live on the underhives? That would explain your poor physical condition and your exceptional abilities to crawl...The nickname is quite fitting" +1 tzeentchian corruption for no being honest

You were nervous, why did she got so nervous? Anyway you decided to keep your mouth shut about being Khaalid the one who gave her that name first.

"I am sorry if you dislike the name but I fail to see what is it wrong with it"

Her pale face got redder and redder to the point of worrying you and wondering if she was suffering some kind of embolism. Khaalids face was a mix of pure shock and cringe towards me and a faint "Holy shit" was heard coming from the speakers of the tower.

The labyrinth descended and the noisy elevator started descending. Munir wanted to rush towards them before a fight exploded.

"Who the fuck do you think you are to call me that you godamn autistic fuck??!"

She walked towards him, her face standing at his chest level.

"I'm sure you didn't suffered hunger nor had to drink your own acidic piss to survive. Yes I did eat rat and I felt so fucking lucky those days, most of them I had to endure hunger...I am only eighteen and I know I am weak compared with the rest of you guys but the IG is being something like a rest for me. Training and being picked on its hard I know but at least if I do what I am told and I keep myself shut I get real food and water every day."

After ending her speech she burst into tears and Munir just came in time to hug and comfort her.

"It's ok... I'm sure he didn't did it on purpose, things work differently here." He looked at you with dark cold eyes full of disappointment that stabbed your soul and sent a chill across your metal covered spine.

"You should return up there and place something to shoot. Do your tech whiz stuff and try to distract her pronto." Whispered Khaalid.

>A: Say that you are sorry and try to fix it up.

"I offer my apologies towards you. I was was wrong and I didn't knew the power my words had on you."

That had to be the lamest apology that she heard in her entire life but Munir took is as valid and tried to comfort her.

"Is there anything I can do to earn your forgiveness?"

She stood quiet sobbing quietly and the shook her head. "You did enough already...thank you" Arwa then hugged you. It was the first time you felt the soft contact of a female body against your skin and you tried to hug her back as best as you could.

"Let's go to practice with the lasguns" Khaalid said after some instant breaking the tender moment and resuming the training.

With Munir's help you arranged the bullseyes like they experienced back in the training that they received and set them to move on various direction but on a slow speed.

While you observed the three managed to shoot them down pretty good, and you noticed that they again acted differently.

Munir had the best accuracy as he waited for the best moment. Arwa moved around and even climbed up to get a better shoot. Khaalid shoot without stopping and impacted the most targets but emptied two power charges more than the rest.

"Why don't you shoot, we can leave you one of our guns I guess."

>B: Forge your own lasgun instead and practice alongside them

You decline the offer, as using someone else's weapon might anger the machine spirit on it. You can use the weapon and ammo creation tools and machinery that are close to the main control tower.

The lasgun exits the forgeries after the automatic process and awaits you. Unlike their your lasgun is not brown coloured but it dons the same red colour of the Adeptus Mechanicus and the aquila motifs are substituted by the symbols of the cult.

You grab it both excited and nervous, feeling the warmth of the just templated metal against your skin and filling you with new sensations. Next to the weapon lie three power charges, you try the three of them and become happier than even feeling how tight and swiftly they enter. You have been blessed with a really loyal and pleased machine spirit who feels happy to serve and activates the instant the power cell has been placed in its position.

Imitating their posture you try to shoot and notice how it is harder than you thought at first and it is totally your fault as a weapon like this has dispersion.

After a couple of hours you start improving but still lack the skills to impact the moving bullseyes on the center. Secretly you cannot stop thinking about how this is the first step of your vengeance.

"Hey Munir...what if we do some sparring?" Asks Arwa

"Not a bad idea, adds" Khaalir.

"We aren't even numbers, will you join us Heracor?"

There are countless of legends about people who feel overwhelmed by the spirit machines of their environment and become little more than husks...just like what happened to the Administrator. Besides, leaving the machine spirit rest from time to time is beneficial, specially if it has been awakened for the first time not long ago.

"Can he use those?" Asks Khaalid to Munir pointing towards my two mechadentrites. He only got a small shrug for answer

"They are of no use as a weapon" You say clicking the pincer ending of the tentacles. "I can pick objects as heavy as ten kilograms per denttrite but then I cannot manipulate them, they are only used to help me carrying objects."

Arwa walked towards me and raised his arms. "Try your pincers on my wrists, be delicate"

Somewhat worried of hurting her you did it for the sake of curiosity. Once her wrists were trapped she struggled but you keep yourself tight.

"Ok thats enough" She said, the next second the pincers opened and she was free once again. "Maybe you could try catch someone's arms and then rip his guts or even shoot him on blank point, your real arms are free after all"

"I think I am stronger than them" Said Khaalid, he grabbed one and waited me to arm wrestle with him. There was some struggled but when I heard the servos of the mechadentrite shriek in pain I ceased any strength and surrendered to his muscle.

"Try not to break the guy who repairs the stuff we break will you?" Warned Arwa

"We should try to fight you and I and Heracor and Arwa" said Munir pointing towards Khaalid.

"Pray to your Omnissiah, Sparky. She's as dangerous as a viper when it comes to close combat." The blond joked.

>A: Accept the terms and fight with Arwa. You might have some chance with her.

With a nod you get ready to fight the small girl. You want to try catching her by the wrists again and try to impact her with your skeletal knuckles. Before starting you look the log of your pincers and lock the pressure to the one you used on her to lower the risk of doing real damage to a minimum. Then you get in what you think looks as a combat stance.

"Are you ready skeleboy?" She said with a laugh.

"I do believe I am" You glimpse the other two to see if your stance is correct but they have already started to fight and now they are lying on the floor rolling and doing locks to each other.

You run towards her and launch your dentrites on a direct attack but she easily rolls away and kicks your right ankle pushing you down. With another agile movement she sits on top of your chest and looks at you mockingly. Using both your arms and your dentrites you manage to push her away.

You tried attacking her laterally as the had a longer reach while swinging direct punches but no matter what she avoided, deflected or dodged everything you threw at her.

"Oh c'mon, im sure your body can do all kind of tricks to give you some kind of advantage, dont dissapoint me so fast" She pouts.

"Oh c'mon, im sure your body can do all kind of tricks to give you some kind of advantage, dont dissapoint me so fast~"

You said using her own voice but altering it a little bit to make it sound in what you thought it was teasing...the other two looked at you awkwardly, you made it sounds totally sexual. Arwa's face started blushing really hard.

Then your eyes started flashing in a blinking manner, each lens becoming as bright as a magnesium explosion. You could see perfectly from your viewpoint and you found yourself suddenly running as fast as you could with your mechadentrites ready to grab her. She stumbled backwards and rubbed her eyes with each flashing but even after she started covering her faces the light was too much for her.

You grabbed and raised her from the ground for some time before punching her twice on the sides, once with each fist. Feeling your knuckles digging deep into her skin and pushing until they found her ribs was a really odd yet pleasurable sensation. She seemed to able been able to take the attack as she yelled in confusion and pain but there was no bleeding and a internal analysis showed no broken bones.

"Did I...Did I win?"

"I guess you did you champ" Answered the inmature soldier, apparently he was too the winner of their match."If I were you I wouldn't tell Oihan about this Arwa, I'm sure she will get really mad if she discovers that one of her soldiers lost to a scrawny techpriest."

She looked down kinda disappointed and pouting in silence.

The training seemed to have been completed. But there was still plenty of time.

Using your neural ports you connect to the tower and create some soft warm chairs for them and yourself. You doubt that anybody ever used this tech for something like this and you were sure that you would be punished if this was ever discovered. There were at least a dozen of cameras that recorded all your training, you made all them to look elsewhere not wanting to get your friends in trouble.

"Was this like the trainings that you experienced back in Miceria?" I asked.

"Aww hell no. Those were way harsher. They even used real ammunition for the trench simulations."

"There were many people that didn't made it, they became PDF instead." Added Munir

"I sometimes wonder how Khaalid and I managed to pass" The girl said. "Probably because they were short on men and they didn't cared about who were they sending anymore"

The trio laughed happily and you couldn't avoid nodding cheerfully too.

"By the way you did pretty well Heracor. You surprised me" Said the dark skinned leader.

"W-well I did felt surprised too. I had never punched nor inflicted any pain before in my entire life..It felt good"

"Careful with the wild beast hes gonna overpower and kill us all!!" Khaalid said imitating some sort of dangerous creature, probably native to Miceria.

"So. You got everything ready? The travel is gonna take about two months so you will need clothing and your personal stuff." Interrupted Arwa.

"Oh, in fact I thought about taking you to see this area and my Habitaculum"

"Does it require to walk across radioactive or underwater zones again?" Asked the scarily blond and strong soldier.

"Worry not, the path is safe."

After resting and chatting for some more time you connected yourself again and placed everything correctly, then left the training grounds. You charged the path again and loaded it to your lenses letting you walk without barely any chance of getting lost.

Your habitaculum was one of the thousands identical cubes that formed the Living Sectors. All of those cubes started with the same items:
- A small Pictoscreen that could be used to talk with other rooms or access the various databanks.
- A baseline human sized bed
- Several power sockets and neural interfaces
- A work desk.

With the passing of time and personal tastes of the different members each room started to vary incredibly from the others and there weren't two that were alike.
Your room for example had thousands of screws inside as a weird form of collection that started the first week you came here. Finding a lost screw is nothing unusual, when one is lost it is replaced at the instant and the lost one is not always found and since the main problem is solved those little metal rings are left for lost. Nobody cared about those screws but you and honestly you found yourself more than once able to solve a problem thanks to a spare screw that you carried with yourself.

The three gave a odd look as you grabbed a bag and started filling it with screws of all forms and diameters while mumbling things like "I wouldn't be able to survive without you beauty one" or "Small yet important, I'll need a bunch of you" in binary code. They weren't able to understand your mechanical buzzing as you excitedly grabbed the spare parts but if they did they would have been creped instead of amused.

After some time equipping yourself you got:

- Two (2) vials of sacred oil -
- A leather bag of screws -
- Your newly created lasrifle & Three (3) Power packs -
- Two (2) sets of robes -
- Various tools adapted to be used and installed easily on your dentrites -

A alarm sounded all across the forge. It marked the working shaft ending, it had to be ten pm. You helped them returning and towards their ship that acted as a barracks too and then returned to the safety on the underground. You still felt full of energy and ready to do anything that you wished. What should you do?

>A: Return to the training grounds and train on your own

You are far behind them when it comes to combat ability and it's not like some caffeine pills and vitaminic supplements cant keep you awake at night. You grab them and proceed to swallow the pills opening your lateral food port.

The travelling towards the training grounds feels eternal, not because of the long distance itself but because you cannot wait to enter again and try to improve your accuracy towards moving targets.

This time there are some Skitarii inside who were using potent plasma pistols to destroy their targets. You never saw a plasma gun in action before and the machine spirit of the weapon overwhelms your sight. There is a incredibly strong power on that small weapon and it liberates its power with devastating effects everytime the liberating trigger is activated. Your lasgun compared with their guns seems as weak as a dull knife.

You still try to be optimistic, the lasgun is a really good start. If you somehow managed to get one of those weapons on your hands it would have probably blown on your hands. Those warriors seemed to know when the spirit was angry and the next shoot was potentially dangerous, during those times they just switched and to the other hand and shoot until the other's gun spirit was more relaxed.

"You are wasting your time here if you don't SHOOT anything!" Said the Skitarii who was closest to me. I checked my internal computer and felt surprised to see that more than a hour had passed since I entered the training grounds, the image of watching them shoot and recharge was somewhat pretty much hypnotic for me.

I aimed my gun as the guardsmen taught me and I did my best. I had no problem with immobile targets but I knew that in a war situation the chance of finding a enemy who stood totally still and was at the range of my gun was pretty slim.

You remember to yourself that those are warriors that don't have time to lose on a scrub like yourself. Besides you are sure they didn't grabbed anything weaker than a boltgun on their entire lives. Chances are they cannot teach you anything not because they don't want to but because they didn't even bothered to learn about lasrifles.

Next thing you do is focus again on the moving targets, there has to be a way of shooting at them. Those Skitarii can do it and even the unaugmented guardsmen you trained with were able to.

Maybe your problem is that you don't have to aim towards the objective itself but the trajectory that it will do. You give more memory resources to your auxiliary cogitator and try to make it mark the trajectory that the bullseyes will do. This procedure heats the machine and forces it to work on a level it isn't used to. You better not stay a lot of time with this on or you risk angering the spirit on its circuits.

Now that you know what trajectories they will take your accuracy increases a lot, something that even impressed the warrior that was shooting close to you.

After some intense and long training you have drained the three power cells. You check the time and see that it is later than you thought. The ship is about to take off. As you are about to run the Skitarii stops you and offers you the chance of examination to become one of their members as he thought that even if your skill have much to improve such a intense training during resting hours was really respectable:

A: Run towards Oihan and the hoop in the ship. You will have to recharge the power cells once in space.
B: Accept his offer. If you join the Skitarii the necessities of stealing blueprints and weapons will be gone and there is a better chance of getting closer to the Magos who enslaved you.

He looks at you with disdain and then calls you weakling the moment you refuse his offer. You run then as fast as you can pushing techpriest and servitors alike to free your path.

Once outside you find yesterday's soldiers in line and looking incredibly more neat and educated. Oihan is inspecting them and talking about what kind of heroes she expects them to be. You can notice the one eyed sniper woman among the lines but not the novices you trained with, they surely are on the back lines and scattered.

When she notices you she grabs a pocket watch and incredibly manages to check the time grabbing it by the power glove

"You are two minutes late. If you were one of my men I would have punished you with sixty lashes on your back for every minute you were late" She makes a expression that has both anger and disgust mixed at equal parts. "Luckily for you even If I am your superior the Guards teaching are out of the things I can apply to you...Get inside with the rest of the techpriest while I teach those people of Miceria what being a guardsman means."

As you advance you can see how those people dislike you, they seem to think you are privileged and maybe even over them. They truly hate your guts, you can even hear a mustering insult as you walk by.

Once inside the escort ship you find more techpriest seated and awaiting to be uplifted towards the orbiting Imperial Cruiser. They are pretty different and you seem to be the less work-ready and modified one.

>A: Ask about them

You should first introduce yourself. It worked pretty well with Oihan and her newly recruited soldiers so why not now.

"Good morning fellow forge members. I am techpriest Heracor Nahive I will work alongside you as a auxiliary and defence member" You lied while showing them your lasgun. "My contact name is 20HRC||22NHVE. Feel free to ask me help for menial tasks that neither servitor nor regular guardsmen could do... Before I get to know each one of you could I ask about our destination? I have been assigned later due to some communication problems and I didn't got the necessary information"

A small and twitchy looking androginous techpriest answered first with a high pitched and quick voice.

"Destination: Plinia Vesus! Temperature: 125 Fahrenheit! Humidity: 2%! Gravity: 0,6G! Enemy: C̪̹̼̞ͩ́ͭ́H̴̥̀̔̒̒ͦͤ̉̐͝A̧̜͇̜͚͓̲̟ͭ̽̀█̝̫̞̤͍ͮ̎̓̓̈́́̋̊ͫ́͟S̤̮̺̯̋̇͜!!!

After that he entered in what seemed a catatonic state and shut down automatically.

"Don't worry about Aretodee-2. Hismind have been hypertrophied on acerebral augmentation experiment. He's weird but a really capable worker when focused on a task. You will gotta be keeping a eye on him most of the time though."

She extends her hands and keeps it waiting for some time before you awkwardly shake it.

"I am O'Jackis Estxx. I specialise on cooling systems, they are sending me to that Volcanic planet to install a large system of air and water filtration. My work is going to be really important!"

"Users and Admins identify me as: Haxmas Terniobium ( Niobium's elemental number is 41 ). I work on keeping all the cogitators connected and functioning" Said a beardy and somewhat fat looking techpriest

"Nice to meetcha I'm Urmo Emtulium ( Same here, Tulium's elemental number is 69 ). I will work with the planets geothermal energy generatoriums." Said a totally robe covered priest.

"Call me Todd" Said Todd.

As soon as Todd made his short and impressive presentation the ship started to vibrate and ascend towards orbit. It was a pretty intensive turbulence filled travel until the toxic and acid cloud covered atmosphere was left behind, then there was nothing but a perfect calmness and a odd sensation on your guts. It was the first time that you felt zero gravity and everything spinning. Luckily for your peers you didn't end puking as soon the sensation was substituted by artificial gravity and the clanking and working sound that you heard so many times before. Once outside you were conducted towards the local Mechanicus cathedral of the ship by a servitor who seemed to have done the same path thousands of time already.

You managed to install yourself on a room and place your screw collection pretty neatly, and then noticed a loud headbanging in the wall that communicates with next doors room. You walk there pretty worried and see O'Jackis Estxx trying to control Aretodee-2 who is suffering spasm again and hitting himself hard against the wall.

"Help me for the love of the Omnissiah!" She yells

>A: Help him. You are a failed experiment too and maybe you could gain a favour this way.

You try the trick that you learned with Arwa and immobilize Aretodee-2's arms with your dentrites, then you use your newgained confidence into pushing him against the wall, soon both she and you have pinned down the erratic techpriest and he seems to be more calm.

"My work is defend the techpriest from external threats, not defend you from each other. This is not a threat I cannot solve by shooting."

"We the techpriests are both creators and destructors" She said hugging and softly patting him "It is good that you want to help and defend us but you have to understand the fragility of Aretodee-2's mind. The machine spirit logged into the bionic implant that was installed in his brain was way too powerful for him...We were pretty close to losing him"

Her last words had pain on them. You choose to not ask more into it.

"What if the inverse happened, what if someone's mind fought the machine spirit and ended destroying it?"

"She seemed to doubt. Well I couldn't say. Aretodee-2 here is the expert on those topic. You will have to ask him when he feels better"

You feel relieved of not killing or converting him now but also feel desesperate of having a private moment with him at all cost. I guess passing has his guardian will be worth the headbanging and the sudden rage outbursts.

>A: Rest for today. You have spent almost two days awake and almost half of that time was training.

With a swift gesture you say goodbye to O'Jackis and retreat to your room leaving her with the caretaking of the still babbling boy. You cannot avoid thinking about how this will be the first time you sleep in the eternal void and how you will be probably travelling at a impossible speed thanks to the Plasma Drives of the ship. You have to find some time to sneak and visit them. Such powerful machine has to gather a equally powerful spirit, so beautiful yet dangerous.

++SOME TIME LATER++

You wake up and have to check the clock twice. It is over 1 pm and you have almost slept for 16 hours. Seems like the energy pills kicked back when you almost puked them. Your inbox is has some messages of help from the different tech-priest and even some specialized members of the regiment that somehow got your username. You have also downloaded a map of the different levels and areas of the ship. -+ Hello. Mechanized unit from the 432th regiment. We are having some trouble with one of our vehicles. It just doesn't seems to start. We have checked as best as we could do and we can say that the exterior seems perfect and there is prometheium in the desposit.+-

Oh well...repairing a vehicle might be interesting, maybe if you are extremely lucky it might be a holy Baneblade. You check the terminal were the message was sent and then move towards it with a steady pace. The corridors of the ship weren't so different from the ones of your forge, you lacked the presence of servitors and techpriests thought.

Once in front of the terminal you saw that there was a vehicle garage next to it. Inside you hoped to see a tank but what you found was way more exciting and exotic. There was a massive drill the size of a big tank and it wasn't the only one of them. It seemed to be able to fit both troops and objects. Remember that when creating the IG regiment they had as a special unit a special vehicle

"What is this marvelous thing!?" You yell gathering the attention of a pilot, surely the one who sent the message.

"Nice aint it? Omega drill. This beauty has a nuclear engine that powers the meltadrills and creates a tunnel that crystallises as it is dug. we use it to transport troops in Miceria during the global storm season. We though hey why can't we use it in other planets too? And after your redhoods gave the thumbsups the entire planet went on a fabrication spree that lead to a golden age"

"How is that I've never heard of it before?" Your fingers softly touch the surface, it is war torn but feels incredibly smooth from the heat and pressure it always endures.

"Your forgeplace is built on top of a lot of underground lakes and water bodies. Perfect to cooldown machines but a terrible idea for a thing like this. If a Omega pilot finds water on their way they are doomed, but hey thats not a big problem on Miyceria hehehe"

"The broken one is that one" He says pointing away "But it's ok its not like this will be used any time soon...do you want to sit and have me teach you how to use one of those?"
