Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of Succubus Lord Quest!

Last session was all about Brodin, but this time we head back to the main protagonist Brooklyn, hopefully just in time for some last minute adjustments before the angels began their siege on Old TO!

I’ll just let the first story post set what plans we’ve done to protect our home!

“How goes the defense plans?” you ask.

“Pretty good considering the circumstances.” Fredika replies as she leans back. “We have the guard towers repaired from when we assaulted the Pride Demon, and most of them are back in working condition.”

“Many of the blacksmiths have been working around the clock to fashion weapons for our troops.” Nalika points out.

“All the more reason to give them praise. What of the Wrath Demon diplomat?” you ask her.

“Unfortunately he won’t be coming into the middle of a warzone.” Nalika replies. “He’s scheduled to arrive after the battle has concluded.”

“Damnit, I was hoping for their support.” you reply.

“There’s dodging the fact that we’re going to take some casualties.” Erica tells you. “The best we can do is go for a swift victory.”

“Many of the Okarians at the Library have done their best predictions of when and where the angels will be appearing outside the city. We have a few wide area trap runes spread out, but we’re not sure how many we’ll get.” Mary says as she sits up. “Luna is going to remain behind at the library to maintain the barrier over the city. We also don’t want her in direct conflict with the condition that she’s in.”

“Do you at least know who the commander is?” you ask Arum.

Arum shakes her head. “We have no damn idea. They’re keeping it very tight lipped. We’ve been able to identify various Adventurer groups and successfully poisoned one of them, but we haven’t had any luck with the angel’s commander.”

“We have the Church Clerics on standby for any assistance for the sick.” Sister Teresa says as she wipes her forehead. “It may be a fierce battlezone however, since Celestia will not take demonic prisoners. We have the castle arranged for a backup hospital in case we need to retreat.”

“Dutchess Brooklyn, might I also inquire why we are having this meeting inside of the castle hot tub?” Fredika asks.

“I understand that you and Amanda constructed one in a hurry, and it’s a very nice and... big hot tub. But... here?” Arum asks.
>>
Wait, I thought that adventurer told us the entire battleplan
>>
>>36921447

She did, but it's still not going to be an automatic win.
>>
>>36921447
And we imported large quantities of weapons from one of Miyu's armories. Also, that we were going to open this thread with dealing with the vampires. We've been trying to get an audience with them

Well yes, but that's not really reflected in your OP. Anyway, we're in the tub because its comfy

“We’re here because it’s comfortable and I need to relax after all the bullshit I’ve needed to deal with and the bullshit that I’ll deal with tomorrow. Mary, did you get any luck with the vaults.” you ask her.

“One of them.” Mary replies.

“One of them?” you ask.

Mary nods. “One had been destroyed long before we got there, most likely over two Science Lord’s Fighting against each other. The Australian Vault was opened and claimed by a main who now decrees himself as the God of Australia. We’re still undoing the brainwashing attacks he launched at the scouts.”

“Oh god damnit! At least tell me that the vault we opened contained something worthwhile!” you say to Mary.

“Prostasia vault.” Mary declares.

“That’s the... axiom of defense right?” Erika asks.

Fredika nods. “It explains why no one ever found it. It was most likely hidden from any sort of magical or technological methods of finding it.”

“We do have a small problem though. Much of the technology inside is highly advanced. There’s no way around it that we’ll need some Miyians to look at it, unless we want to kill ourselves by accident.” Mary adds.

“Can anything be of use for tomorrow?” you ask.

“We took some of the more ‘basic’ armour and vests inside. Simple yet incredibly powerful armours that should make a select few nearly invincible.” Mary replies. “We didn’t touch the power suits or force field emitters however.”

“Does the college know of the opening of one of these vaults?” Fredika asks.

“We didn’t tell them. With Beck being a wildcard, I didn’t want to give anything to a potential traitor.” Mary replies.

“It would however be a sign of faith to many Miyians, having a fully intact vault.” Nalika points out.
>>
>>36921771
Isn't one of Becks political rivals technically in charge of dealing with archeological finds? Have her take joint possession along with Brooklyn. And what's about the non superscience equipment?
>>
>>36921771
Lets get the reasonable Lieutenants to distribute this. Make sure Beck doesn't have his claws in it, and since he doesn't want to be involved, we don't involve him.
>>
>>36922297

I agree that we should use the Vault as an incentive for the Myians to join in the defence...

Also, we should have Amanda take a look at the stuff. She's Prostasia right?

“What about the non-superscience equipment?” you ask.

“We have a few old world hovertanks and IFV’s along with some mundane weaponry and weak superscience weaponry.” Mary states. “Mostly ammo, but we should have enough weapons to outfit a platoon or two.”

“IFV’s?” you ask.

“Infantry Fighting Vehicles. They support infantry in the field.” Fredika tells you.

“Anything from the Old World is going to be welcomed. As for the vault, I’ll leave it in the church’s care Teresa, under the condition that Sister Lacosta will be the one to analyze and distribute the weapons.” you tell Teresa.

“I wouldn’t select anyone else for this job.” Teresa replies as she puts another cloth on her head.

“I’m hoping that as an influential Miyian she’d be able to put it to good use while acting as a sign of faith to other Miyians.” you reply. “Keep the news about a vault opening quiet for now, we don’t need people panicking for fear of the Science Lord Wars all over again. ...Also let Amanda look at the vault as well, she's trained in Prostasia so she'd know a thing or two about it at least.”

"I'll see if another Miyian is interested. I know another one of Beck's rivals would love to have access to this vault as well, but she does a lot of field work. I'll see if I can contact her." Arum says
>>
Is this a prompt?

Any other questions you want to ask before the fight tomorrow or things to do? One reason I did this is because it's been a while so my memory may not be perfect.

“And the vampire meeting?” you ask.

“They apologize for being late, but they’ll be here within an hour Brooklyn.” Nalika replies.

“See if you can get them into the fight, otherwise leave me out of it.” Fredika replies.

“They’re not that bad Fredika dear.” Teresa says.

“A vampire is not bad, a group of vampires are nothing more than overpowered leeches.” Fredika replied. “I dealt with them far more than I would’ve liked in the Old World.”

“Yes, but at the very least they’d be able to secure the underground tunnels of the city.” Teresa comments.

(Anything else you want to say/ask before the vampires? Last chance)
>>

I can't think of anything, but I will probably remember several things once it is too late to do any of it...

We have ensured that our pet won't be in danger, right?

That is correct.

I'll make the next part now then.

“I’ll head off to get ready to meet the vampires then.” you say rising up out of the tub.

“Very well.” Nalika says getting out with you.

“Also tell your Dad to stop spying on us! It’s creepy!” Arum warns as she points to a corner.

You barely have time to turn your head, only to see the scurrying foot of your father.

“Oh Dad...” you mutter as you watch him run away.

“When’s the bloodsucker coming?” Excel asks you.

“Oh any minute now. I- EXCEL!? What are you doing here!?” you ask, turning around in a hurry.

“I wanted to see the Vampire myself.” Excel replies.

“Dutchess Brooklyn, Duke Edmund has arrived.” an Okarian guard announces as she steps into the ballroom.

Turning around you can see what appears to be a rather tall and well-groomed gentleman wearing the finest of black noble clothes. This vampire certainly appears to be doing his best to fit the stereotype. A monocle can be seen on his middle aged face, his bald head completely smooth, skin as pale as the snow. There is a slight smell of sewer, but that’s covered up behind very elaborate perfumes.

“Dutchess Brooklyn, so nice to meet you. I am Duke Edmund, one of the ruling vampires down below in the sewers.” He says with a slight bow, before rising up with a bit of a smirk. “I also must tell you that our kind does not like to be referred to as ‘bloodsuckers’.”

Oh god dammit he heard Excel...

You give a small glare at Excel out from the corner of your eyes before turning back to the Vampire. “Forgive my sister, she tends to speak without thinking.”

The vampire just chuckles to himself. “I do enjoy a bit of youthful behavior even inside my own courts as well. Do not worry, I mind not the presence of the young lady.”

“...Very well. Have a seat, please.” you say letting a hologram maid pull out a chair for the vampire, followed by a drink.

“Now the purpose of this visit, according to your invitation, was dire. Am I correct?” Duke Edmund says as he swirls his wine.

"Yes, it is. As you are probably aware, Celestia will attempt an invasion tomorrow with the intent of slaughtering everyone who lives here who isn't a member of their organisation. We have mobilized as many forces as we can muster at the moment however, there are still too many ways that Celestia could breach what remains of the cities defences and slaughter dozens, if not hundreds of civilians. I was hoping that we could negotiate for assistance in tomorrow's battle.” you tell him. “While you hold the right to decline our request for assistance, I believe that the chance to demonstrate on how vampires are actually beneficial for the community of Old TO isn’t anything to be taken lightly.” you say to Duke Edmund.

“Will the attack take place during the daylight?” Duke Edmund asks.

“It will yes. We’re not sure when, but all of our predictions had the daytime in common.” you reply.

“Then your plan for exposure has a critical flaw. We do have some vampires who can fight in the daylight, but they and their impact on the populace would be weakened.” Duke Edmund says as he sips his wine. “We vampires are strong and proud, but we do have our weaknesses. There’s also the second reason that I came here.”

“Which is?” you ask.

“Given the tensions between Succubi and Vampires I would have... Nay I did plan to challenge you for the leadership position in Old TO at some point in time, but hearing your impassioned speech about coexistence has made me rethink my strategy of domination into that of cooperation.” Duke Edmund replies.

“So you will cooperate with us?” you ask.

“No taxation without representation.” Edmund replies. “In exchange we want a vampiric representative in your court, one with which we vampires can agree on.”

“...And only you?” you ask.

“There is no point in having someone who looks after our own interesting being nothing more than a yes-man to you correct?” Duke Edmund replies. “Naturally we won’t pick anywho who is overtly hostile to you or your rule.”

Yea... Right. Do you know how many stories involve someone within the Lord’s Government forming a plan to kill their superior? Far, FAR too often. Hell you even did it with Langy!
>>
>>36924943

"Naturally. While usually I would be inclined to make a counter proposal, I am willing to take your word for this. After all, Old TO is as much your peoples home as it is mine."

question; could Old TO's barrier be augmented with Darkness magic to allow the Vampires to fight unhindered, or would that cause more problems than it would solve?

I intend to offer you more power, respect and territory by working for me than you would achieve even if you successfully overthrow me for control of this city, and relying on enlightened self interest to do the rest.” you reply.

“Quite. Even if we vampires *did* take the leadership of Old TO from you, we’d never hear the end of it from the Succubi.” Duke Edmund replies as he takes a sip.

“You are not still planning to blot out the sun or anything like that?” you ask.

Duke Edmund laughs. “Failed, foolish attempts of our youth. What I am more concerned about is the territory you’ll be giving us. Are you sure the civilians will not be a problem?”

You shake your head. “No, they won’t. You’d be free to govern your territory however you wish, provided that your laws do not conflict with that of my own or you go against the will of the people. Secondly, I am not allowing any ghoul vampires to exist within my city or your district.”

Edmund rolls his eyes and waves his hand. “Perish the thought. If we find such creatures, we’re often the ones who dispose of them. They’re far too... harsh on local food sources.”
>>
[2/2]

“Very well, now with that out of the way, I’d like to discuss how we could possibly make Celestia’s lives a living hell during the invasion.” you add.

“Ah yes! Exemplary idea!” The vampire says. “The battle will take place during the daytime, so our mobility will be limited. However I can make the suggestion to let us handle the underground instead of the Laminians. Celestia will be expecting Laminians underground, not on the surface. They’re betting on us working against each other rather than with each other.” Duke Edmund explains. “Unless you have a better plan.”
>>
>>36926157

we should give them some support, maybe suggest a small contingent help protect the Civilians, allowing for the Vampires to have a visible presence in helping defend the people. after all, nothing garners positive relations than physically seeing people defending you, not just being told by the person in charge that they did...

“Are you sure that you don’t need any additional forces?” you ask.

Duke Edmund pauses, his face deep in thought as he ponders your question. “Mortals would be preferred. Something we could use to spread rumors about our good faith and an emergency blood source if needed.”

“...Emergency blood source?” you ask.

“Yes, we vampires regenerate rapidly while feeding. If the blood is fresh enough then it works quite well for us.” Duke Edmund replies. “Unless you have objections with a vampire making a mortal ill in exchange for survival.”

Hum we could do an commando style night raid on the celestial forces. basically hit them and burn critical stuff before they realize what hit them and be gone when they reorganize,

also could do an illusion to make them think it is day time 3 hours earlier than normal. they don't have watches and they will wast messenger imps trying to stop the confusion in the ranks.

hum actually how many red contacts do we have and fake fangs. get Celestia to waste anti vampire stuff on non vampires. should mix in vampire forces with non vampire forces so a squad is not critical crippled when they use anti vampire stuff.

"Any citizens you feed from will have to consent, and they shouldn't be drained beyond unconsciousness. Feeding from the dead is not something I would advise, unless it is absolutely necessary. We don't need the reignition of old stereotypes. I would suggest feeding from the opposite gender...and I will try to make sure the mortals are paid for their services. “The blood of dead people is of little value to us. While we vampires feed on the physical rather than the material, blood that has been outside the body for too long has little value to us.” the vampire says. “As for the mortals... "Just remember that any civilians lost are your responsibility to explain." Make sure that any civilians are checked for compulsions/mind-dickery after the battle, we don't want to give them free slaves. "Just remember that any civilians lost are your responsibility to explain." you reply.

“I will likewise hold you to the same.” Duke Edmund says as he takes a large sip of wine. “I thank you for your patronage and tolerance Dutchess Brooklyn. Perhaps I was wrong about what I originally thought about you.”

“As with my ideas about your kind as well. I apologize about coordinating war plans with you this late.” you reply.

Duke Edmund raises his hand. “Think nothing of it my dear. We recently had our own problems, but a Celestian invasion force is something we both need to be concerned about. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to my own estate.”

“Of course. Have a pleasant day Duke Edmund.” you say doing a small curtsy in front of him.

The Duke bows as well, before turning around and leaving the room. Once ten seconds have passed after he’s left, you turn towards Excel.

“Excel watch your mouth for Mother’s sake! You could’ve messed up a very important deal between vampires and Succubi, and we don’t want them to feel any more unwelcome than what they already are!” you tell Excel.

“Brooklyn...” Excel says looking at you.

“I’m not taking any excuses. Don’t leave your quarters at all tomorrow, I don’t want to put you at any further risk than you already are.” you say with a sigh.

“Oh go to hell Brooklyn! You think you have your share of problems, well I’ve had just as fucking many! I’m not going to be pushed around by my big ‘sister’s’ overblown ego!” Excel says as she turns around and leaves the room in a huff.

“Excel!” you protest back to her, with Excel only giving you the finger in response.

You shake your head. “That girl...”

(Anything else? Otherwise I’ll go to the battle scene.)
>>
>>36928227
So what's happening with the whole 'excel must die' thing and our plan to do the queens ritual on her? When's that ment to happen?
>>
>>36928227

We write an apology note to Excel and have instructions for a supper to be taken to her quarters. We need to focus on our preparations so we can leave the supper to the staff...
>>
>>36928274
That's between Excel and Brodin. Brooklyn doesn't know about it.
>>
>>36928341
For some reason I'm paranoid as hell about leaving her catering to the staff, we should make sure someone trustworthy is handling it
>>
>>36928373
Yet, despite all our planning to bring the plan to him to get him to go along with it so he doesn't fuck it up, and forgive me for not trusting Sandact to handle it in the background without our constant micromanagement to ensure he doesn't fuck us in the ass with it.
>>
>>36928431
That's silly, anon. If sand wants to fuck us over he can do it no matter what. It's his quest.

It's also in his best interests to not do something we'd hate him for.
>>
>>36928390

Nah, the staff would have done something by now... there have been multiple better opportunities...
>>
>>36928464
You say that as if you've completely forgotten the 'lol celestian invasion' 3 seconds after we took old t.o, and then as soon as we start dealing witht that properly he throws excels crap at us, and it constantly happens time and time again. Sand's pacing constantly fucks us over, any time we start dealing with one crisis, 3 others pop up, its like hes got an addiction to shitty crisis' just for dramas sake and it was old before this celeatian shit and now its just stupid and he still shows no signs of improving despite this being a problem we've told him about for months

Yes it's in his best interests, yet he keeps doing it time and time again
>>
I don't want this debate to start up again, so I'll just address this as a minor spoiler.

I did not plan for Excel to be involved in the battle involving Celestia.
>>
>>36928560
Some things are out of our hand completely when playing the character Brooklyn. Things he has absolutely no way of knowing of, such as this Excel situation, is an example. The only thing you can do about it is flagrantly metagame. Please stop.

>yet he keeps doing it time and time again
I don't think he ever did anything unreasonable, especially when our wishes were known. If something was disliked after the fact he always fixed it or explained it.

If you can't deal with this, then why are you still here?
>>
>>36928597
'Did not' implies past tense and a change in state, which implies that statement is no longer valid, and that still doesn't address that concern.

If we don't have to worry about dealing with excels issue then just outright say something like 'that is happening AFTER the fight', arbitrary and vague statents do more harm than good
>>
>>36928604
Anon the whole thing surrounding excel is unreasonable, we've made our wishes known for at least 3 months and that didn't stop him throwing all that away
>>
>>36928681
>If we don't have to worry about dealing with excels issue then just outright say something

This was already obvious from the fact that we've made the decisions about her in the previous thread and we're now playing a character that doesn't know anything about it.
>>
>>36928696
I don't feel it is unreasonable. It's a good thing when a GM makes you work for what you want instead of just throwing goodies at your feet. To add to this, it's perfectly possible he was planning something big for Excel before the idea of turning her into a succubus (of which I was probably the main proponent) came up.
>>
>>36928730
Anon, I remember damn well immediately planning on auccubutting our aiaterthe moment we met her and discussing what caste she would be best at, months of that and he pulls the rug out, I'm sorry but its lunacy to believe he planned that from the start except when you think that any time weake a plan he throws it away right before we can act on it
>>
>>36928604The problem is that leaving something like that until after the fact is unacceptable because the damage would be done and be ireparable and after all the mistakes he's made throughout this quest with the whole gender identity crisis and 'aether issues' I simply don't trust him to not cock it up, yet I want to because I really like this quest but he makes it damn hard
>>
>>36928801
>he pulls the rug out
Obviously not, since it's happening after we worked for it.

All of the things you can do about it were done in the previous thread. Excel isn't an issue we can deal with without badly metagaming right now. You'll just have to trust that things will work out more or less the way we want.

If you can't do that, then I ask again, why are you still here? I can't imagine playing a quest where I didn't trust the GM to be fair.
>>
>>36928856
I'm still here because I have trusted him, several times in the past, and is lime to trust him again because like I said, in case you are truly blind and don't read a work of what I say, I like this quest and I want to keep enjoying it, I'm invested in it and its characters and I've been here since the beginning, but sands makes it a real fucking challenge at times.

You order your catering staff to send Excel’s food before heading to bed yourself. You’re going to need all the rest you’re going to get.

Come the day of the fight, you waste no time in dressing inside of your Succubus Armour before heading out to the front of the castle. Even with the rising light of the dawn, you can see the guard towers out on the perimeter of Old TO. Guards in the castle are being outfitted with the Prostasia armour and vault weapons. This is Fredika’s suggestion as the forces will make a beeline towards the castle, but also something you’re thankful for as you want the best possible protection for your family. Thoughts occurred to you by putting a body double in for Excel, but since she’s mortal they won’t do anything to her.

“How goes everything this morning Nalika?” you ask her.

“Everything is going so far to plan Lord Brooklyn. The mortal Adventurers and Mina will head out in the city being a special task group. Sebastien will be busy picking off any sort of command rank, and mother is...”

“Being a bitch?” you ask.

“Being mother yes.” Nalika replies. “The only question remains what your task will be in this fight milady. You can choose to fight on the front lines alongside Erika and the others. Doing so will be a large boost for the moral of your forces.”

“And staying back?” you ask.

“Personal safety.” Nalika replies. “You’d be fighting against forces that are weakened, but unless people see you directly fighting...”

Not only will it boost moral, but we can act as bait to draw in enemy forces for a pincer assault while they are focused on us.

I assume that Celestia combat doctrine means that we will have to inflict upwards of 90% casualties before they even consider retreating...

Besides, can't let Celestia retreat before we've had some fun with the Young Hero who declared us his nemesis...

“I’ll be heading to the front lines.” you inform Nalika. “I’ll be doing as such, so I’ll expect the others to do the same.”

“Very well Dutchess, I shall head to the front lines as well.” Nalika replies.

“Nalika, I know how you feel about fighting. You don’t have to take part in this battle if you don’t want to.” you tell her.

Nalika shakes her head. “No, I’ll be fine. I’ve had a lot of pent up stress lately and I’ve always wanted to teach Celestia a lesson.”

“Very well, let us be off.” you say turning towards the exit of the castle.

*****

After a quick ride on horseback to the front lines, many of the men and Succubi on the front lines are ecstatic to see their leader riding to the front. You wave to the cheering crowds as you stride through on horseback through the various barriers before meeting up with Erika on the front lines.

“D-Dutchess Brooklyn! W-What are you doing here!?” Erika asks as you in total shock.

“Doing my part in the upcoming battle.” you say getting off the horse and waving the rider away. “We need every combat capable hand we can get for this upcoming battle, and I’m no expection to this rule.”

“B-But this is incredibly dangerous and reckless! The enemies are going to be coming directly after you at any cost!” Erika informs.

“Yes, but what better way to show my faith in my own people than to be here on the front lines. A Leader who doesn’t do everything in their power to protect their own people isn’t that much of a leader.” you say as you walk over, looking at the large cement barricade. “I’m not changing my mind, so why don’t you tell me any reports in the meantime.”

Erika just sighs, shaking her head as she gives up. “Nothing that our scouts can see either in the physical world or the astral world. They’re not here yet, but many of our men are fairly tense at the upcoming battle.”

“Nothing we can do about that. Remain on guard. We won’t have much time to prepare once they arrive.” you reply as you climb up a guard tower.

******

Minutes turn into hours as you continue to wait. Your hand constantly goes back to trace your axe as you continue to wait. Those stories about preparing for battle are all too true you find, as the actual wait for battle, not only the fact that at any moment you could be killed makes you feel incredibly uneasy.

Then, shortly around noon, you can see small disturbances in the sky. Not wasting a second you turn on your aura sight, configuring it to notice spatial distortions before noticing a huge rip in the sky. From out of nowhere, you begin to see winged humanoids float down from the portal above the sky.

“THEY’RE HERE! THEY’RE HERE!” you hear the soldiers on the ground yell.

“AA GUNS, OPEN FIRE!” Fredika roars as she points her sword at the enemy. Upon her cue, massive bursts of sound fill the air, superheated plasma roars towards the angels, exploding in multicolored bursts of light. Many angels begin falling down towards the ground, while just as many decide to advance on the ground, only to run into Okarian trap spells. This lasts for a good while, before some of the more powerful angels begin to hit the field. Such as that one obsidian asshole angel who ambushed you inside of your room, using their sonic soundwaves to blow up the landmines.

No, no if you’re going to do this right, you’re going to have to do this in a way which will make the moral amongst your own men skyrocket. You need to wait for the right moment...

“ARCHERS, FIRE!” Erika says as she launches her arrow along with the other archers, a cloud of arrows filling the sky as they hit the angelic forces in the air and on the ground. Many corpses lay at the front, but despite all of this there still appears to be no end to the forces. If anything the Obsidian Angels seem immune to the arrows, slowly advancing under the storm of arrows. You can see one blast it’s wave of sound directly towards the cement barrier, blowing apart the barrier in a cloud of smoke and dust.

“Those will do.” you say as you leap down in front, heading towards an Obsidian Angel and their group. The Obsidian angel tries to blast you with sound, but you roll out of the way at the last moment. With your axe in hand, you deliver a backspin chop with your axe to the angel’s head, increasing the mass of your axe and sending him tumbling. You grit your teeth once again, swirling your axe into the crowd of angelic soldiers that rush up to support their Obsidian commander. After a few swings to get some space, you quickly flap your wings to get high up in the air, raising your axe out behind your head and growing it into a solidgram of titanic proportions before slamming it down into the ground, causing angels and feathers to scatter every which way. When the snow dust clears, the only thing left are feathers and obsidian shell pieces.

“Commander Erika! Our forces on the East Wall are beginning to drop, the resistance is far heavier than expected there!” a runner says.

“What about the West side!?” Erika asks launching another arrow at a nearby angel.

“Far lighter than expected!” the soldier replies.

You decide to hang back in the rear for a few seconds, focusing your utmost as you attempt to open a small viewing window to both the East and West windows to see how they are doing. Upon opening the window, you can see that the East side is indeed getting hammered fairly hard. You expected most of the forces to come from the North side and positioned your heaviest hitters at that location, but right now it appears they’re throwing far greater numbers on the East. Obsidian Angels can be seen in large numbers while wheeled angels seem to ramp directly up on over and past the barricade.

The West wall in comparison remains to be fairly light for the moment. Small numbers of angels appear to be doing battle in that location with the main action appearing to be long range angels duking it out with Okarian, Miyian, and Ayarian ranged attacks. A bit static, but so far they appear to be doing just fine under Rebecca’s command.

“Hm...” you mutter as you look through both view portals.

“Brooklyn, what do you see!?” Erika asks.

“Can’t you see astral portals?” you ask.

“I can see shapes not words! I hate how you always bring that up!” Erika yells back at you as she fires off one last arrow before throwing her bow down and taking hold of her sword. “Now what do you see?”

They seem to be deploying greater numbers against the Eastern Walls. I will redeploy over there to help stem the tide, however a few aerial units have broken through so we may need to deploy some Search and Destroy teams to neutralize them before they become a problem.
However, the lack of movement against the Western wall doesn't sit well with me. Have half of the forces pull back slightly to seem that we have moved them to the Eastern Front. See if we can't bait the Western Units into action...

Also, open a viewing window into the Underground. Have they tried sending infiltrators though yet? They could be trying to move their heavy hitters underneath our defences to strike our flanks

“The East wall is being hammered hard, however the West Wall barely has anyone there. It’s strange.” you comment as you look through the portal.

“They’re hoping that we’ll shuffle our forces!” Erika states.

“Then we won’t give them that chance. Nalika!” you call out.

“Hold on!” Nalika says while holding an obsidian angel with two arms while her four others pound him repeatedly. After the Obsidian angel goes limp, Nalika opens her hand and blasts a hole directly through it’s chest with an energy blast. “What’s wrong?”

“Go back and fetch the reserves. We need them to fortify the East Wall.” you tell her.

“And you?” Nalika.

“We’re fine here and you’re one of the fastest people we go, now go.” you tell her.

“Understood.” Nalika says as she explodes into a burst of speed, ripping through the streets towards the reserves.

As Nalika speeds off, you can see two more runners coming in to your base.

“Lady Erika! We bring news!” A man on horseback says. “The enemy forces have arrived by the underground!”

“Yes we knew they’d be using the sewers.” you reply.

Rushing on horseback to the location, the runner drops you off about one block away before heading over to get the reserves. As you run down the block, you can see Latooni, the Miyian girl from the Church of Pamille, rushing towards you with something in her hands.

“Latooni! What are you doing here!?” you ask her. “You’re in incredible danger here!”

“D-Dutchess Brooklyn! “Yes. Go down the path I just took, it’s safe and it should lead you straight to the church.” you tell her before running off.

As you rush down the block, you can see that thanks to Uilodsir that the entire block is burning but in a good way. Large walls of flame are on the ground forcing many angels to come by air, making them easy targets for those with bows on the ground. Mina and Alex are in the thick of the fray, sending angels flying every which direction despite being horrifically overcrowded. You rush over to Alex and Mina, deciding to support them before they are both flooded with angels up to their necks.

“I miss anything?” you ask Alex as you fire a laser about to strike his back.

“Dinner plans. I was thinking of making some chicken tonight.” Alex says as he performs a stylish flourish with his scimitar, seeming to pause for just a second. “...Maybe something spicy to feed the spirits?”

“Is food what you’re thinking about on the battlefield!?” you demand.

“Ha ha! Better to think about the things you love rather than the horrors of war!” Alex says he swings his blade in and uppercut, causing a massive shockwave to rip through a column of angels. “Non?”

You just sigh as you gather energy in your hand before slamming your hand down on the ground, forcing all of the nearby angels into the air for a split second, more than enough time for Mina to use her extreme spin to bounce between each and every target in a blur of superhuman speed that leaves many angels unconscious in the air.

"Foul creature of Fort Hope really, I did just arrive in the city about a month and a half ago after all. Also, thank you for leading the attack on the Envy demons recently, you saved a lot of succubi lives in doing so." you tell them.

The Ranger’s eyes go wide. “So that information we got about the Envy demons!?”

“Fed to you by me, we needed them out of the picture if a safe takeover of Old TO was to be successful.” you say to them. “...By the way do you know any good chicken recipes?”

“Aye.” The dwarf Fighter replies. “The best recipe I know of involves some dwarvern a-”

“TAKE DOWN THE LEADER!” The Dragonborn Paladin roars as he advances towards you along with the rest of the group, a group of angels and Celestian bootlicker mortals following his charge as he advances.

>Paladin Tur-sa has become enraged!

Mina takes on the Archer while Alex heads for the Dwarvern Fighter, leaving you to deal with the Dragonborn Paladin. Some of your soldiers attempt to rush the Dragonborn Paladin, only to be blown back as he raises a holy symbol to the Shining One above his head, some Aide footsoldiers getting burns on their body as he continues his advance.

Your eyes dart over to Amelia in the meantime, noticing that she is beginning prayers of support to the other members. Amelia as of right now is waiting for some sort of symbol.

“None of that please and thank you!” you say immediately firing a narrow spark off at the Dragonborn’s symbol, a tough shot but you manage to barely nail it as the project speeds off in the other direction. After knocking the symbol away, you unfold your wings and flap them hard, rising up into the air. The angels attempt to intercept you, but increasing the gravity by a few times is enough to send most of them crashing down to the ground.

As you’re in the air, the archer seems to take aim and let loose a volley of arrows at you. You barely manage to dodge them, a few arrows nicking your arm. “Mina, little help!”

“I’m trying!” Mina says as she swings around a nearby lamppost to land both of her feet into the archer’s face.

The Paladin on the ground scowls at you, and before you have a chance to gloat large dragonic wings come out from his own back as well.

“Oh come on! You’re not supposed to be able to do that!” you protest.

“I don’t listen to demons or witches!” The Paladin roars, taking in a deep breath before ripping loose his own breathe weapon of pure flame.

You attempt to raise your darkness barrier up to try and intercept the hit, but still some flames manage to get in. You’re no where near roasted, but it was a small hit.

“...Right, I need to remember these guys are the big leaguers.” you mutter to yourself as you dispel your darkness cocoon.
>>
>>36941258

Can we shout 'Duck' at him and fire a laser at his head? If he ducks then we win as he 'listened to a Demon', if he doesn't, then 'we gave him fair warning'...

“Paladin! Duck!” you say firing a laser blast directly at his head. The Paladin attempts to fly out of the way, and the shot manages to hit his armour. “See that! If you actually listened to demons, you probably wouldn’t have gotten hurt there!”

“Silence demon! I won’t take orders from you!” the Dragonborn Paladin says as he rushes into melee range with you. For someone flying while wearing armour, he’s shockingly fast and agile. You barely have time to dodge his swing as he comes within melee range of you, and it’s at that moment you can feel something akin to a divine... warning on you.

“You don’t need to mark me Paladin, I’m not going anywhere!” you say charging up a sphere of Darkness, a localized gravity well centered on a specific location to draw him and the angels in one specific area.

Without saying a word, the Dragonblooded Paladin slices apart your gravity sphere in the process, the burning blade of pure light slicing apart your spell easily. The blast of force is enough to knock both you and the angels charging at you, sending you blown back to the ground.

Oh fuck, he has an anti-spell sword. Trying to charge high power attacks isn't going to work.

(Sorry for the delay, I was waiting to see if more posts would come in)

“Ha! I’ve seen this before!” you say to the Paladin as you leap out of the way of his attack. “Dispelling strikes huh!?”

“The blade of truth cuts through all lies and deception that you perform demon!” the Dragonborn Paladin roars as he swings his blade at you again.

Using your darkness tentacles, you quickly grab a nearby carriage and throw it at him, dodging out of the way as the carriage collapses on top of him.

“Too bad thrown objects aren’t magical asshole!” you say giving him the finger.

As you say this, a ray of light shines out from the carriage, blasting directly towards you. You try to dodge, but it manages to nip you in the wing. You are resistant to light, but the anti-demon magic of Celestia burns your wing more like fire than like light.

As you watch this unfold, you can see that Amelia is keeping Uilodsir and Troy busy in the background, leaving the Drow Sorcerer to focus on you.

“Oh god damnit.” you mutter as you throw up a darkness barrier, shielding yourself against the flash freeze of the drow Sorcerer, then barely dodging out of the way as the Dragonborn’s blade comes crashing through the darkness barrier.

“Can ANYONE deal with the damn Sorcerer!?” you yell out as you quickly take a few backsteps away, fighting off hordes of angels with darkness tentacles.

As if on cue, a hooded figure dressed in a robe comes up behind the Sorcerer, raising her blade high up in the air before making a single downward stroke against him. As the figure lands, she spins around to put the blade back into the scabbard onto her back, a fountain of blood seeming to erupt out of the drow Sorcerer as he bleeds out.

Paladin’s attacks as he relentlessly attacks you. You do your best to dodge, getting a small gash on your arm as you feel the burning sensation of the attack, before doing your best to throw pottery at him as you continue to retreat back. “What the hell is wrong with you!? A teammate is bleeding out and you still go after me!?”

“Amelia has our fallen member in her capable hands, leaving me to deal with you monster!” The Dragonborn says as he continues to press his attack against you.

As he says this, the mysterious stranger dashes up towards the back of the Paladin, quickly pulling out a sword from a sheath on their back in an attempt to strike the Paladin. The Paladin turns around at the last second to intercept the stranger’s blade, slicing it two as the Stranger goes to strike. The Stranger doesn’t waste another second as they leap back from the Paladin’s retaliatory slash, leaving you a chance to fire a point blank Annhilator round at him. The explosion shattered all of the glass in the nearby area and blasts the Paladin through a nearby shop.

“Ugh... Terrible weapons.” A flat tone of voice says underneath the robe as the stranger tosses their weapon away.

“Why are you dressed in a poncho?” you ask her.

You quickly step out of the way of the Paladin’s rush attack, Wilhelmina taking her own dodge to the side.

“I won’t ask about a bear, instead I’m just glad to have you back.” you reply as you toss Wilhelmina her sword.

“Wilhelmina reaches out and grabs her sword. Genuine surprise appears across her face as she spins the weapon around to test the weight, before narrowing her own eyes. “Words alone cannot express my thanks.”

“Actions would be REALLY nice then!” you say ducking under a the Dragonborn Paladin’s blow.

With a single blast of speed, Wilhelmina blasts past the Dragonborn Paladin, slowly resheathing her katana as she lands on the other side. You don’t wait for the bleeding to start, but rather blast the Paladin with a high powered laser to the face point blank, a laser of a width nearly the entire Paladin’s height. The Dragonborn himself seems to smoke briefly, before collapsing down on the ground.

“...I was trying to look cool.” Wilhelmina pouts.

“I’m sorry, but I *really* wanted him down.” you reply to Wilhelmina.

“I suppose that takes care of the adventurers.” Wilhelmina says as she looks at the Paladin on the ground.

As you say that, you notice something climbing out of the ground nearby. Your eyes narrow at the sight of it. One of the creatures is a six winged angel while another appears to be a black angel dressed in the same oriental style as Mina.

“Oh dear... I was hoping they’d be able to take care of them...” The female anger says with a soft sigh, her clothing appearing to be robes that flow to the ground along with her hair, tassels with holy words hang on the side of her head.

“The vampires tired them out. It can’t be helped.” the angel in the back says.

As soon as the male angel speaks, Mina’s eyes go wide, collasping to the ground on the spot and letting the Angel she had in her grip fall to the ground. “A-Anata...”

The male angel looks at Mina, giving her a quick gaze. “...Oh. It’s the girl from the village, all grown up this time I see.” The male angel seems to give off no indication of emotion inside of his voice.

“Mina!” Alex says rushing to her side, deflecting the attacks from the angels and doing his best to defend the Quivering Mina.

“MINA!” you say reaching out for her, only to have the ground ripped to pieces in front of you.

“Your battle is with us Dutchess Brooklyn, and no one else.” the angel says with an outstretched hand.

“Shock, two powers.” Wilhelmina says as she spots the angels in front of her.

“Yes, and we need to thank you for evicting the Pride Demons for us Dutchess, but it’s about time that we ask you to depart this mortal coil quietly and without struggle.” the female angel says with a gentle smile, spreading her wings out wide. “In the name of the divine ruler, let me deliver punishment to the wicked. Grond Contestaro!” She chants as she slowly seems to float out in the air, her angelic wings seeming to glow bright before her entire form quickly shifts into pitch black. An explosive wave of pressure engulfs the area, blasting through the ground. You barely have time to fly up into the air as the pressure wave seems to annihilate the skyscraper building behind you with little effort.

“Celestia sent *two* of you!?” you roar as you see the collapsing building, frantically thinking about what to do next.

Well, first order of business would be to relocate to somewhere which won't be a tremendous pain in the ass to rebuild, OR cause excessive collateral damage.

Also, sending for some reinforcements might prove beneficial as I somehow doubt that we will be able to deal with Two ranking angels without some heavy back-up.
Since Mina seems shaken up by one of the angels, it might be best to send her and Alex off to get help.

Meanwhile we should work in conjunction with Wilhelmina to keep them in a state of disarray. we could try focusing on one angel, however at this stage I'd prefer if we could gauge their abilities and capacities, But I don't expect us to find any glaring weakes

“Alex! Take Mina out of here and get as many reinforcements as you can! The commanders finally showed themselves!” you yell out them as you fly down next them.

Alex doesn’t waste any time, dragging Mina away as Uilodsir provides cover, leaving you and Wilhelmina in the thick of multiple angels, including two incredibly powerful angels.

“Getting a bit arrogant aren't we angels? You don't really expect me to be the type to lie down and die for a bunch of lying hypocrites do you?" you yell at them, landing on the ground and using giant spikes to impale the angels trying to follow behind you.

“I do not expect a demon such as you to understand what virtue is. The time has come for long last Old TO to finally be cleansed of its impurities.” the female angel says as she slowly floats down until she is a mere inch off the ground, as if the ground is impure for someone such as her.

“Like hell! I won’t let you wholesale slaughter people who have done no wrong!” you reply as you point your axe towards her.

“You’ve yet to realize that the crime here isn’t your action, but what you are. As a demon, it’s within your nature to tempt and lead men astray. Just like the grass grows, this cannot be controlled.” the female angel says as she begins to float up in the air again.

“LIKE I WILL LET THAT HA-” you are stopped as you look down at your leg, only to notice that part of it is flash frozen to the ground as the angel is charging her attack again. A quick check shows that the Sorcerer that Amelia healed earlier is actually still up. “...Oh no.”

“In the name of the divine ruler, let me deliver punishment to the wicked.” The female angel flashes with a bright and pure light that is almost painful to look at even with your powers. “Grond Contestaro!”

“MASTER!” Amelia says as she rushes in front of the blast, taking it head on as the entire blast slams into her and into the rubble behind you. Dust is blasted across the better part of Old TO by the sheer force of wind and pressure that the blast wave gives off.

After taking the wave head on, Amelia collapses on the ground in front of you. You quickly grab hold of her, noticing amounts of blood coming out of her eyes, ears, and nose at this point. A quick check on her neck shows that she is still alive at this point.

“How tragic... Even one as noble and heroic as Amelia to be brought down to the level of a demon.” the female angel says as she slowly begins to lower herself to the ground.

As you hold onto Amelia, Wilhelmina rushes over to your side, looking at the angel, you, and Amelia. Wilhelmina grips her Katana tightly, her mind seething with rage.

“How... dare you refer to your own teammate as such. One who did literally everything, one who *existed* solely to spread your ‘divine’ bullshit.” Wilhelmina states.

“Wh-”

“Silence. I am not going to hear another word out of that mouth of yours.” Wilhelmina says to the angel before looking down at you. “Lady Brooklyn, please give me permission to take care of this.”

You reach through a small space portal, pulling out a small potion for Amelia that comes from your castle medic station. Your eyes and soul burning with rage, but have full intentions to take care of Amelia before flying off to attack the angels.

"You have my permission to destroy these hypocritic bitches, but you do not have my permission to die so take care." you say opening the bottle.

“Do not worry. I do not intend to die. Not after my realization.” Wilhelmina says as she puts away her weapon.

“Realization?” the oriental angel asks.

“That my life before now was a string of lies, told one after the other. These lies are the things that were holding me back, but now I have cast off such lies and have embraced the truth of the world, and of myself.” Wilhelmina says to the angel. Wilhelmina closes her eyes in an intense focus, and as she does so you can begin to see seven colored flaming orbs slowly beginning to form around her.

The eyes of the oriential angel grow wide in shock. “S-So na!”

“Божий Дух: Иcтина Воплощена.” Wilhelmina says in a tone of pure determination. As if on cue all of the seven orbs fly into her, engulfing her in a massive burst of spiritual fire. You shield your eyes for a second before turning your gaze back to Wilhelmina, seeing that she’s no longer dressed in ratty clothes but rather something akin to the finest silk. “SHE’S CHARGING UP A RITUAL SPELL! STOP HER!” the oriental angel roars at his forces.

“No, not a ritual.” Wilhelmina says as the spell circles slowly merge to the point where they meet the katana in the center. Wilhelmina then rushes off towards the angel. “Prepare yourself.”

“Ken.” Wilhelmina says as she slashes the angel, an oriental symbol appearing as she strikes in ghostly flame. “Zo.” she says again, making another slash.

“To-Sha-Kai-Ne-Shen-Yen.” Wilhelmina says as she becomes all but a blur around the angel. The angel tries to pull back, but is only blasted back by a burst of spiritual fire that comes from Wilhelmina’s hand, sending her high up into the air. “Ya. I realized that if I do not have time to speak the symbols, then I shall carve them into the opponent’s body.”

Wilhelmina then holds her sword high above her head, the glowing sword now erupting into a pillar of energy that pierces the very clouds themselves and is as thick as a person is tall. “Seven Divine Winds: Holy Ancestor Sword!” Wilhelmina says before swinging the sword down on the angel.

The angel screams in pain as the pillar of energy lands, slicing through the angel’s left arm, leg, and set of wings. The angel then falls to the ground, a column of snow spotted where she landed.

“You heard the Dutchess, make haste!” Teresa says as she waves off a nearby Aide, who nods before dashing off.

A: Go back to help Wilhelmina. New powers or not, she’s going to need the assistance.
B: Go towards the West Wall and help with the outbreak that’d occur there

the faster we clean up that remaining angel the faster we can reposition with Wilhelmina

Much as I'd love to help Wilhelmina, we need to stop any breaches that may occur. With one/both of their leaders gone, they might try suicide attacks.

Fair enough, I can call it here for tonight if everyone isn't here/alive. I can resume around the 28th.

>Why are you giving dates

Christmas break and I literally do shit, so I can assign times easily.

Open up a portal to see how Wilhelmina is going against the angel and lend a hand if we can, if she has things well under control let her know we'll be helping with the west wall

>>36949506
We can best respond to these breaches with Wilhelmina and not having to worry about her, so I say open a portal on her to see how she's doing and if we do decide she doesn't need our assistance, let her know what we're doing.

we should use our space control abilities to gain the maximum amount of situational awareness to make the best decisions and help with this fight

thinking assessing the situation i vote to open portals to judge where we are most needed. want to help dealing with the angel commanders but we need to first check how everything else is doing.

I'd say she's earned it.
