The updated pastebin aren’t quite finished but that’s no excuse to avoid a thread, merry Christmas in advance.
>>
Never before did I feel such threat by holding a weapon safely encased in a scabbard and wrapped in leather; this knife had the long name of Induced Death and was a constant stream of worries after being… stolen – yet now the seemingly shadowy overlord that was the third faction of this crusade had given it back with a simple letter that felt completely unbelievable; almost enough to forget Hadraniel coma and the rekindling of invisible links, it was as if a dim fire had been refueled.

I had to walk out of the room, perhaps only to escape the vision of the sleeping angel- each glance would inevitably bring a squeeze of guilt and while my mother glowering golden eyes held a charismatic strength and gentleness that would definitely soothe my worries I knew It’d be simply lying to myself- I can’t do anything for the Embodiment, so my only choice is to leave her in the hands of the one true goddess.

I had something else to do.

‘’Siegfried?’’

While holding the bag and closing the door behind me, I came face to face with Leila, her long blonde hair fell behind and around her shoulders with the same silk-like behavior as Hadraniel; I saw her bow briefly while holding onto the artefact sword and I couldn’t keep looking into her emerald eyes, another surge of ugly guilt was torture enough.

‘’Can you go inside? My mother wishes to speak to you.’’

‘’Ah…’’

Confusion clearly flashed on her face but a frown soon robbed her beauty as she put both hands on her hips while glaring my way.

‘’…I didn’t know our relationship had progressed that far’’

Such a bad attempt at a joke earned a chuckle and her faux-outrage melted as quickly as it came.

‘’Your bodyguard didn’t seem very happy tonight, you… know about that?’’

I simply nodded while clutching at the bag hiding the knife; the hallway was nice and quiet, a bland corridor of stone extending east and west that’d end in a T junction leading back into the hall, although… I knew Daiyu was to the east, the opposite way of the royal chambers.
Still, was Leila waiting here all alone?

‘’Yeah, but why did you stay here?’’

The girl seemed to stiffen at my question, her gaze strayed, her fingers visibly fiddled with the metal of her pommel before answering with a little timidity.

‘’Well I… don’t really have anywhere else to go’’

Of course, between me and Ithel our trio of defectors she had the short end of the stick – that little alchemist was put to work back in the capital while I simply tried my best to keep to my duty, Leila on the other hand was probably an even bigger stranger than Mylen with the rest of the group, let alone the island inhabitant- I’d like to think Tsu and Ame influence had something to do with the relative freedom she’s been allowed. For a moment I was reminded how she looked that night under the brilliant sky as she revealed just a hint of her woes; Leila was always a very talented person without a dream to grasp and few friends, I don’t know why she accompanied me and legitimately revolted against the church (whereas I was a traitor from the start).

‘’You’re staring again’’

Her comment broke my reverie; a small hint of blush as she replaced a long strand of hair reminded me of Hadraniel and again- my heart squeezed. It took all my pride to avoid wincing.

I’m probably tired.

A knock form the door was soon followed by its opening, its inevitable creak easily foreshadowed by a quiet «Siggy» that could only belong to a single person, Leila and I turned toward Emeth, her bright square shaped red eyes staring back at us in indifference as she squeezed herself both past the small opening and myself like a cat; causing a brief laugh from the Purifier.

‘’I wish I had my own golem, I’ve never seen one so attached’’

She went to pat the top of Emeth fuzzy brown hair, which elicited a strange satisfied sound (perhaps a purr?) from the girl, who obviously seemed to appreciate the gesture.

…I’m being distracted; part of me feels like it’s a good thing, too.

>’’How about you stay with me tonight?’’ [I have a hunch that what my mother need is the sword, not the girl; I’ll just ask her to give it to Emeth. There’s nothing more I need to do]

>’’Remind me where my bodyguard went?’’ [I can’t judge Tsukiyomi decision, I do have to take care of Mylen since I pulled her in this fight, and maybe I should have Leila accompany me, too?]

>’’You try and stay safe now, never know with my mom’’[I need to find Tsukiyomi and put an end to that blood ritual, sure she’s a big girl used to bigger decision but disagreement come with being in a relationship, I can’t just let her be tainted by blood magic, even if its apparently harmless. There’s more than enough blood on her hands, that one won’t wash off with another loop either]

Acutally, she's pretty much the most advanced girl in term of relationship, her current status is due to an unfortunate event.

I can't decide between Tsu and Leila. Why not both?
>>
>>36923464
You want to bring Leila along when Tsu is about to commit a blood ritual?
>>

Oh sure we can, anyone who doesn't have an answer for our soul blasts (i.e. a soul blast option of their own) or is a full dedicated mage has about a snowball's chance in hell against us in a duel if we go all out. Normal magic can't touch us, and soul blasts enable outright cheating (e.g. turn the enemy into an ice/crystal statue).

The problem is, our remaining marks are powerful enough to match or exceed our BS. And god help us all if that Evil Mountain gets released, that thing sounds like it's in a league all its own.
>>
I vote for asking Leila what her opinion of the blood sacrafice thing with Tsu is. I'm still not entirely on board with that, especially because of whatever long term effects we don't know about.

To stop the blood ritual mostly, since we've gotten back the death knife alongside an envoy for parley from Deruella.

My roll is for Mylen or Tsu unless another voice make itself heard, consider it the choice for the thread.

1 = Tsu
2 = Mylen

Unless Mother Earth uses more of what little power she still has remaining to detect blood magic (and even then, she may only be able to detect large-scale blood magic rituals in progress, not blood mages or active blood magic), we will still have the problem of Deruella being able to continue shadowing us by changing disguises.
She can either kidnap and use a trusted person, if she wants to do a straight-up sabotage/retrieval/assassination mission, or use a lowly grunt if she just wants to be nearby to take advantage of any situation that is in her favor.
Not to mention she can still use another lowly servant disguise to use Charms on someone higher up the chain for her purposes.

Mother Earth was at the meeting where Tsu declared that she would go through with the blood ritual.
Didn't she give her tacit approval to the ritual?
I suppose it was only because she thought there was no other way to counter Deruella.

Will this choice mean that blood magic gets taken off the table entirely, or just that we put it on hold, until we are shown it is needed again?

>altough the sudden arrival of five prisoners is going to be strange for some people.
If Deruella finds out about the prisoner transfer, and that they're all slated for execution, and knows that her sister is around, she could put together that a blood ritual is being prepared. Given the number of prisoners, she could work out that it is to make someone Sensible.

Given her own knowledge of how blood magic works, the most probably conclusion would be that it is to make someone able to hunt her down.

This would force her to retreat, and rely solely on Charmed agents.

I suppose that this could work out to give us an acceptable secondary objective since we won't get the primary objective.

I felt tempted to take her hand, the way she rubbed Emeth seem to elicit a cute little response from the brunette; the whole scene looked strangely homely but the stark reminder of the knife and its missive reminded me of what was about to happen, I recalled that closed world full of abominations – a still throbbing wound of Tsukiyomi sins – and I simply… couldn’t allow it to happen, pragmatism or not.

‘’Leila’’

She turned slowly back my way, relaxed yet awkward; I saw a brief glint in her green eyes that somehow squeezed my heart while Emeth squeezed her way to my side.

‘’Can’t even take a break with the assault so soon?’’

Her honest face showed simple care as she glanced my way with a mixture of awkward empathy and I felt guilty; bringing her to the monstrous side without really standing by her side was hypocritical, as if I only used her to get out of the camp safely.

If I were to guess the hour, I would place it just a little bit before midnight; the royal manor housed all the major leaders of the budding Commonwealth and security was ramped up accordingly after that episode with the church infiltrators – which made Deruella own intrusion as remarkable as it was dreadful - patrol of men, women and monsters constantly put activity inside the manor while a few burst of magic told of the homegrown magical security being used to keep the whole place doubly safe; part of me wondered if I would have been accosted if it wasn’t for Emeth standing dutifully by my side. The stories of the golem army had already spread here and people knew which side they belonged to.

Mylen and Tsukiyomi position were direct opposite from the very moment I had to set out in the hallway of Hadraniel room- mother said to me to follow my link to Daiyu and I’d find the fluffy queen-mother, thus I set out with nothing but my guts feeling toward the western part of the manor, emerging in a secondary hall just as busy as the main one that seemed to house the path to the dungeon area; for a moment I wondered how five prisoners were transferred in this place but decided to quickly act instead, the Demon Lord was down in the creepiest part of the mansion and I felt thankful for the golem as we headed into the darkness- part of me felt like the entire place had been sealed off.

Progress down the stair and the following dark hallway was a slow, careful one with my hand joined with Emeth as she took the vanguard without allowing any protest on my part; soon my eyes acclimated themselves after going through the first wooden door that truly marked the change of room into the dungeons and I saw rows after rows of empty cells that didn’t look to be in outright disrepair, my destination tough was deep in the bowels of the manor, made all the more obvious by the single other person inside this dark place watching over a set of stairs leading further down.

It was a woman, monstrous one of canine mixture; hair of short dark and bright greenish-gold eyes turned my way as our set of feet clapped loudly on the stone floor, her tail rested lazily on her tight while her left hand held a wooden staff upright, she didn’t even bother turned her way; instead she flicked her wrist and blocked the way down.

‘’Can’t let you pass, boy. Better turn back.’’

Simple and to the point; it’s obviously someone placed by Tsukiyomi, I doubt reasoning could do, hell even if I tried I might just miss my opportunity.

‘’I have news she need to hear. Urgently’’

My hand left that of my faithful guardian as I put emphasis on my sentence that simply didn’t register with that wolf-woman. Her hand visibly tightened around her weapon as she peered my way while often dodging her gaze toward Emeth.

‘’I wouldn’t be standing here if I listened to anyone else but the queen-mother, you know how she is; I intend to stay faithful, boy’’

Oh to hell with it.

‘’Emeth’’

She struck like an arrow, lunging swift and mercilessly toward the beastwoman who, despite her raised guard, was thoroughly unprepared for the sheer speed of the golem; she immediately swung her staff toward the intruder and I bent my upper body to avoid getting smacked- a loud sound of collision resounded as the wood slammed into Emeth raised arm while simultaneously kneeing her in the chin; yet that wasn’t enough to stop Emeth arm from grasping her cloth and roughly shove her sideway, both loudly landing on the ground.
My way down was in a concert of barks, growls and yelp of distinctive canine origin up until every sounds disappeared as I continued to proceed down the stairs until blocked by a single door of wood that was left just a tiny bit open whilst the handle itself refused to budge- someone had purposefully left it like that. The next hallway showed few cells, these left in obvious disrepair while a few completely closed doors nearly side by side revealed this part of the dungeon to be all about isolated cells, my progress in the dark was a tad clumsy but light from –yet another- flight of stairs leading down was all I needed and I progressed as quietly as I could, walking on the tips of my feet as I started to heard muffled voice in the distance that became clearer and clearer up until they gradually grew silent aside from some pleas and insults, some with a distinctive male tone, others with unfamiliar female voice that belonged to none of the demons of the fluffy queen-mother.

I reached the source of the light and it was barred from me by a cage-like door leading into a particularly large room that gave the impression of a refurbished torture room – even if there wasn’t any devices, this seclusion made it obvious- and a unlikely group stood inside, with my obvious intrusion bringing a stop to… something that’d definitely give a very wrong impression to anyone else.

Daiyu, Sieglinde and Tsukiyomi was already an unlikely trio but the presences of chained and wounded individuals was something else; two men, two women and a monster (an Arachne) were clasped in iron and forced on their knees (or the ground for the monster), all of them having a dark piece of cloth covering their eyes and a gag, they sported various wounds still bloodied, if only superficial. A cut on the arm there, small slash on the belly… carefully made to draw out blood without being lethal and these lots weren’t happy about it, letting out grunts through their gags, most likely recently put.

The center part of the room showed a big, elaborate pentagram caved into the very ground, as if a knife had somehow trailed through the hard stones like butter; I couldn’t quite identify the symbols that looked more like interlocking lines reaching different hard points of the geometry (with each of the prisoners aligned with one of these ‘’points’’) Only the center showed an obvious circle, still vacant, while the criminals bleed lowly onto the ground as they protested the pain and what was likely their demise.

Daiyu was the closet to the door and she quickly whirled around as my presence was obviously discovered, her daughter was hard at work with the chained fellows, cutting them softly and guiding their bodies to fill the soil with blood while Tsukiyomi overseer the proceeding, her tails straight and fuzzy, ears only flicking once as I grabbed one of the heavy bar, I could ice it over and crackle it easily.

‘’You’ve come too soon, but I’m glad you’re alright’’

Tsu spoke with distant impartiality, keeping her back to me while Sieglinde momentarily stopped and her mother gazed my way with something akin to warmth and whispered «Tsukiyomi really doesn’t want you to see this».

"Things have changed. Something completely and utterly unexpected has happened, and we need to put this ritual on hold until we can analyze the new situation.
"I have the knife. Deruella gave it up, and it seems she is pulling out."

I know we don't really know if Deruella is pulling out, and she likely isn't, but that she MIGHT take herself out of this current war should be enough of a game-changing possibility that it will cause Tsu to hesitate.

At least the scene hadn’t devolved into some kind of unholy sacrifice yet, my presence seem to shake the prisoners but they wisely stayed quiet, undoubtedly having been convince but this trio of strong women. I tightened my hand around the bar while clutching the bag.

"Things have changed, lady queen-mother. Something completely and utterly unexpected has happened, and we need to put this ritual on hold until we can analyze the new situation.’’

That caught the attention of everyone in the room and Tsukiyomi finally turned to face me- her face was a blank resolution, a mask of incredible strength and pragmatism that’d easily see the world crushed if she needed to. Yet, her eyes appeared tired; a burnt gold that needed a little break.

‘’I have the knife. Deruella gave it up, and it seems she is pulling out."

The first one to recoil was Daiyu, she opened her mouth in complete and total bafflement while Sieglinde shot up, roughly shoving the man beside her to stop his squirming while Tsu simply scowled harder, and her eyes now shooting directly to my bag. Still silent, I didn’t know if she was convinced, so…

>Hand it over?
>Something else?
>>
>>36926647
Remove the knife from the bag, unsheathe it to show that it's the real thing.
"It's the real deal. We need to wait and figure out what's going on."

Deruella is probably trying to use us, force us to take the initiative and take out Orion for her.
But we have to do it, because it's in our best interest as well.
>>
>>36926647
Get it out and show her, I doubt she'll be convinced with anything less than the genuine article.

Mommy backed up the instant she saw it, it seems to have a negative resonance with things that are immortal or fantastical in nature. Like the knife is metaphorically screaming "Time to die" inspiring dread from the certainty that it means it and can back those words up.

Hm damn I jsut realized something in my writting that I assumed you guys would show Deruella message to the women, so I'm going to ask it now.

Do you want everyone (beside the prisoners of course) to see Deruella message?
>>
Also I intend to continue the thread tomorrow, perhaps even for a little bit of Christmas eve too if time allow.
>>
>>36927682
Tsu will definitely go into a rage when she sees the letter, and will undoubtedly want to set up an ambush.
But we promised to Daiyu that we would give her a chance to talk Deruella down; I feel that such a thing is impossible now, and Daiyu should have done something about her daughter sooner if she wanted to save Deruella.

And if she can actually kill Deruella tomorrow, then all the better.

Hey, when Kyorn gave us the bag with the knife and the letter, had he already read the letter?
>>
>>36927824
Yes. He did.
>>
>>36927875
How good is Kyorn at keeping a secret?
He seems like the type to let something slip by accident.
>>
>>36927824
We could leverage our relationship with her and ask her to trust us on this. She may want Deruella dead, but she knows having one less enemy to worry about during the final battle of the invasion would be an immense help and simplify planning greatly. This meeting could at least ensure a temporary ceasefire, which would only benefit us. It could also give us some much needed info on her goals and endgame.

>>36927875
Then we're definitely showing the letter. If we don't, Kyorn will almost certainly inform her and without any input from us will potentially screw up the meeting by attempting an ambush.
>>
>>36927930
He's been around far longer than Siegfried was, he's no fool.

Also, showing them the message isn't THAT important, the ladies are professional, they can keep their cool.
>>
>>36927973
Alright.

Show them the letter.
Any attempt at an ambush would only spook Deruella.
The course of action with the greatest chance of success, either for a ceasefire until Orion is dead, or of neutralizing Deruella now, is by letting the meeting to happen, and bringing along Daiyu.
>>
>>36927963
Oh, same dude, but I just remembered that mommy told Tsu that Daiyu may be the key to getting out from under these damn loops with a good end. A meeting between Deruella, her, and us may turn out very well. It's worth a shot.
>>
Very well. This update will be my last for the day given that its 1 am, but I intend to stay for more tomorrow.

The situation certainly felt tense and I didn’t wait for the demons to recover, the gaze of the kitsune was enough to make it feel like I had my head presented to the executioner; slowly, I took my hand away from the bar and presented the bag with the hilt of the knife already jutting out; it was such a simple thing, hidden inside its dark leather scabbard but once I took the blade out… the vision of a blood colored steel was enough to make the three women recoil in horror, all of them wincing in a similar fear of danger.

‘’Put it back in its scabbard!’’

Sieglinde grunted, making a rude wave while her long, thick tail whipped the air in anger and I promptly obeyed, even Tsu gaze of steel had strayed –I didn’t feel a hint of fear myself- but that knife was enough to strike instinctive terror in these highly magical women.

Because they aren’t human.

‘’There’s also a message’’

I handed the back over after safely tucking the blade, Daiyu quickly found the paper and read it over in a flash while handing to Tsu that read it just as fast, with Sieglinde making a quick dash to see it after she was done; there wasn’t any hints of emotions again in Tsu face aside from that momentary loss of control upon seeing the knife while Daiyu looked perplexed, if not loss; her eyes shifted to her daughter that simply shrugged as she went back to observe the prisoners.

‘’Tonight is likely to be the only opportunity to accomplish this ritual, you know that?’’

Tsu spoke, walking softly in my direction and stopping a few meters away from the bar, now I had the Demon Lord and the queen-mother of Zipangu gazing at me intensely.

‘’I haven’t seen my daughter in thirty years but in all the years I’ve known and loved her before, she has always held civility and diplomacy to the highest regard because of its ‘’rarity’’ as she liked to put it, I know this paper was from her, only she’d be brazen enough to give... this item for a –chance- of talking’’

Part of me felt like Tsu would lash out in rage or that Daiyu would be hopeful, if not deluded yet the two women simply look at me, then each other with a mixture of apprehension and all-encompassing calm, Tsukiyomi and Daiyu words seemed to hang and weight in some invisible balance.

‘’…fine, I’ll ask my agent to take care of these lots, here, have this back’’

After speaking the imperious queen-mother took out a small knife she was previously holding in her hands, her large joined sleeves keeping it hidden all this time, she handed the knife to Sieglinde who promptly grabbed it before giving the prisoners a glare; I could only doubt of course, part of me felt like this weapon was a little special. Still, Tsukiyomi slowly walked toward me, her small arm easily fitting through the bars to grasp my chest while Daiyu wings kept on flapping. I saw a shadow of emotions inside these women, the soul link with the Demon Lord was… confused, but also strangely happy; if I had been just a tiny bit late… I wonder if these prisoners would still be alive.

‘’Every time I resolve myself…’’

Tsukiyomi voice was quiet and dull as she opened the door- part of me felt like she had given up too fast.

>What now?

Take Tsu's hand, and hold it in ours. Hold her close, and whisper in her ear.
"All I want, is to help you, to make things a little easier for you."
I'd call her "my lovely Tsu", but that's probably something she'd prefer to be kept private in our bedroom.

After a few moments, we should tell her that we kind of left Emeth with Tsu's wolf-guard, and we should go back upstairs to get the two of them to stand down.
Then we need to find Mylen; tell Tsu that Mother Earth is trying to help Hadraniel with Leila and Radiance's help, but we need to find Mylen who has been hit very hard by Hadraniel's condition.

Ah, so I DID call it, it has a strong negative resonance with things that are particularly vulnerable to it. In that case, with the fight against Orion, we must not reveal we have it until we've poked more than just one or two holes into his iron skin unless the arrogant bastard gets so cocky that he goes for something that leaves him wide open (and he just might, given how he can shrug off getting his heart gouged out effortlessly and all).

Given the resonance, we'll only get one good shot at landing the "instant kill". We must not waste it and get it on the first try.

I wonder, what does the knife look like? I keep imagining it as being an infinity symbol shaped blade (like a shorter, blood red version of the Fierce Deity Sword) or just a normal knife with that symbol stamped on it somehow.

This is because its existence mocks the very concept of it. Nothing is really immortal or eternal if that thing gets a good hit in, not even a god. Truly a frightening weapon.

There was something sinister in the scene of these five people bound, gagged, bleeding and kneeling near this pentagram as the redhead began to do her best to undo her meticulous work with a few curses whispered under breath but there was also a distinctive energy in her movements peeking through the sluggish fatigue; the pentagram was quite literally carved into the hard ground but the girl seemed resourceful, at least she seemed to know what she was doing when she pulled out a small flash with a strange powder inside it that hardened in contact with the ground. She also roughly shoved the sacrifice out of the way and they promptly obeyed- all of them looked afraid, desperately clinging to their own life- and I can’t blame them, being in the same room with the Demon Lord and her long-time rival isn’t for the faint of heart.

A spark of warmth traveled through the link as Daiyu gazed toward; it was a simple happiness, easily foreshadowed by the worries of the night but she was visibly glad, at least; perhaps the same could be said for Tsu, she’s the one that saw me collapse in a bloodied heap without so much as a provocation.

Thus I stepped toward the queen-mother and reached for her hand as her tailed silhouette blocked the entire caged entryway, but the little blond reacted swiftly.

‘’Save it’’

Her voice came out in a rasp, tired breath and I immediately obeyed, even if her face stayed completely cold and neutral there wasn’t disobeying this grunt of an order for the sheer fact that it was so thoroughly unusual, even Daiyu glanced toward Tsu with surprise but the queen-mother didn’t wait, for she, as always, was the one to impose her pace; I expected her to follow up but instead her face warped in a grimace and she simply began to walk away, her large golden tails slithering out the door in a slow, deliberate manner matching her pace, they made the effort of actually avoiding me as she soundlessly walked up the stairs leading toward the isolated cells, her form slowly proceeding upward toward the lighted entryway.

So abrupt was her exit that the pair of succubus simply gazed as I did at her small, yet imperious silhouette proceeding up the stairs and disappearing around the wall, soundlessly taking one of the pair of lamps on her way out.
Although, for some reason, Daiyu began to smile and she even tried her best to mask a little chuckle; the soul link obviously showed her crystal clear amusement but the intention wasn’t malicious, if anything the Demon Lord seemed to have realized something that brought this mirth, which worked wonder to break some of the awkwardness.

‘’I think you ought to go follow her’’

She was pushing me away, it was obvious Daiyu wanted me to stay down there, I felt tempted to follow up on that intention.

>’’I’d prefer staying here and helping you out’’ [Leaving these two with this lot just doesn’t sit well with me; perhaps I could understand the Demon Lord family a little better, too]
>’’Yeah I’d better’’[What’s wrong with Tsukiyomi…?]
>’’I think she just needs to be left alone’’ [She’s a tough woman, I need to be somewhere else]

In the end I had to agree with the Demon Lord assertion, there was something odd with the kitsune but leaving her and her daughter alone with the prisoners didn’t sit too well with me either; this creepy room was being slowly reworked by the redhead succubus to mask the pentagram while Daiyu kept a close watch on the group, although she kept glancing my way, her wings moving slightly every time.

‘’I’ll give you a hint; Tsukiyomi really, really didn’t want to do this.’’

She spoke in a soft murmur as I felt drawn into her brilliant eyes- the sad, if not beaten and demure Demon Lord of yesterday was nowhere in sight- perhaps the simple presence of her daughter had reenergized the woman, a dangerous magnetism surrounded her now, be it caused from her colored hair or the simple fact she was standing straight with this sheer, raw benevolence that shouldn’t belong on a demon.

It reminded me of my mother.

>’’If we have the chance tomorrow, I want us to speak, perhaps clear out some bad blood, too’’ [We are linked and we barely know each other’s – hell, Athena is a better friend than I am.] (Promise to keep)

>’’Thank, Daiyu’’ [I don’t know if I like her or not, the royal demonic family is… hard to stomach.]

--

I had to make a fast trek all the way back to the first set of cells on the very first floor of the dungeon to regain ground with Tsu, as if the queen-mother had broken into a run I didn’t expect such distance but soon happened upon her as she glowered at Emeth and the wolf-monster whose struggle had finished in earnest with the beast having taken the lion share of abuse; both of them were now sitting side by side on their knees, the agent obviously guilty thank to lowered fluffy airs and down tail whilst Emeth simply stared ahead without really understanding anything up until my arrival, where she promptly got up, nearly bouncing on her feet but my raised hand stopped her and then I asked «would you please help out Daiyu down below?» and that was everything I needed to do to be rid of this faithful guardian of mine, whereas the wolf-guard eyes never left the golem, even when I made a little dash to catch up to Tsukiyomi retreating form; her silhouette was positively immense thank to that crown of eight bushy tails and the strong white light of the alchemical lamp.

I could hear the brief echo of my feet as I jogged up to her and she stopped but didn’t quite turn; she simply stopped moving as we found ourselves alone amidst the dark, empty and dusty cells.

‘’You’re healthy?’’

She asked, the distant, strong edge in her voice making it seem like this was nothing but business as usual.

‘’Yeah’’

And just like that she put her hand on the door that I closed leading back to the mansion, her golden eyes forming a thin line of a glare as she seemingly got angry at the stones, probably to spare me this glance; her fluffy ears twitched here and there and I found myself skeptical and definitely lost at her behavior.

Same guy here, just clarifying that I'm really just wanting Siggy to get to know Daiyu as a person, not Daiyu as the Demon Lord. She'll tell us about the past on her own time (hopefully soon because I got a hankering for her story). We need for him to work past his understandable prejudice and arrive at a mutual understanding.

After all, man's been taught from a young age to hate demons and the Demon Lord. Propaganda's effects on a mind are hard to undo, especially if they've been exposed to it for as long as they can remember. His apprehension about her is understandable, but we need him to trust her if she is indeed trustworthy. His very life may well depend on it.

End of the day, follow a recipe to the letter and you'll get at least a passable meal. It's a kind of "science" in the end. And I'll be damned if Tsu can't into a science given her intellect.
