Interlude: Sol Power, Make Up!

The roof of the arcade building is caught in the cool wind of the evening. Despite this, you feel a surprising warmth. Something builds in your heart as you stare up at the scintillating rainbow coloration of the distant aurora above the center of the ward, atop Tokyo Tower.

Beside you the cats look on worried, they had finished the fabrication a short while ago and the white one, Artemis, was getting ready to run you through tests to make certain you were ready. Then the city was blanketed in this strange effect that kept people from being able to talk to one another, or any meaningful communication.

Looking down at the cats, you give them a sharp nod before setting down your purse and withdrawing the given wand. Backing away from the edge of the roof and the sight of people yelling at each other, screaming, begging, and pleading. Once you are certain you are out of sight, you grip the wand and take a steadying breath.

This is what you chose. This is your duty. A great act of penance, but that warmth...it grants you peace. It grants you a happiness.

Holding it high, you say the words and feel the swelling over power therein.

“Sol Power, MAKE UP!”

It wasn’t the words, it is the intent. The ball on the end of the wand engulfs you in light.

The stress tests and confirmation that were supposed to take the rest of the night would have to be a field test. That notion leaves you terribly anxious.
>>
>>36973538

Red ribbons tie across your chest, hair, and back. Yellow skirt and trim surround the white bodysuit. A circlet crosses your forehead where the now clear astrological crest burns and spreads its life giving warmth. Your hair explodes in that rising warmth, the far tips becoming reddened in a gradient shifting of color. The sun inside you tints your previously pale skin with a warm tan.

There is no time to strike a pose as the light fades, you are already running to the edge. You’ll leap from rooftop to rooftop once they get a little higher, until then you’ll make due with flying as fast as you can.

Its the beginning. You’ve been forgiven by everyone but yourself. Every life you save going forward, every chance you have to protect this world is another chance for you set a counter weight on the scale in your heart. This is how you’ll be redeemed. This is how you’ll be worthy.

You are a burning in light, a streak across the sky beheld by the worried people below.

Interlude End

Quest Start

The world beneath you slides by one alleyway or cross street at a time. Your group started with lower rooftops of short buildings and residential homes, but your climb has gone steadily through industrial, business, and commerce centers onward toward the great rise of buildings near to Tokyo Tower.

The boy in your arms stopped actively struggling few blocks back, and has relegated himself to a few idle unintelligible grumbles and sour expressions. Occasionally you can catch him looking at you or the others in curious suspicion and scrutiny or the world below with no small amount of awe.

Kairi and Midori flank you, keeping up as best they can with the coalesced magic encasing their legs. Kairi’s face is determined and serious. Midori’s face is etched with nervous excitement.

Together you soar from rooftop to rooftop toward your goal. Whatever is happening atop Tokyo Tower is big enough to blanket the whole of the city, possibly greater, in this supernatural jamming of communication. Whoever or whatever is responsible is going to in for a world of hurt, because you’re giddily thinking of tossing them off the top of the orange spire of steel.

Normally you are Mikage Chiba, some 15 year old high school girl who used to be the third sparkle crapping heroine of love and justice, Sailor Moon before she ran screaming from the title after a little gore and broken promises.
>>
>>36973560

Now you are the Red Eyed Beast, urban myth and bane of delinquents and yakuza who dare to operate in Juuban. You are the person Mikage needed to be to find an outlet for her anger, and perhaps cope with the violence she had previously committed. Whatever, this is too much explaining about yourself and you are just getting super pissed off.

At least right now you’re impressed that Sasha isn’t shitting himself at the superhuman acts of acrobatics you and the other girls are executing. He took your transformation into the beast in stride, in all fairness you did tell the little bruiser that you were magic. It isn’t any skin off your nose that he might not have believed you at first.

Still, you’re a ways off.

>Keep yourself serious and determined. There is grim work to be done and without the ease of tactical communication.
>Look forward, giddily, to the likely violence and feasting ahead. Let the fangs slide out with your smile.
>Attempt to play with your telepathy again, you’re braced for feedback now, maybe try empathetic projections instead of language? With who? What emotions?

A song of fire and ice. It's a book series first. Good books.

I was aware that there are books. Perhaps I'll consider picking them up after I finish the pile I already have and need to read.
>>
Despite, or perhaps because of, all the things potentially looming ahead you cannot contain your giddiness and excitement. The joy you take in violent confrontation is amplified by the implied scale of the impending conflict. Pupils dilate, perhaps aglow, while a sinister and wanting smile creases across your face.

You aren’t paying attention to anything now beyond what lies ahead, both literally and metaphorically. This whole phenomenon is likely magical, so you absently lick your chops at the prospect of a filling meal of shadow and suffering. The unintentional pleasant sensation of your fangs sharpening to their hungry tapering point only serves to further widen your smile.

There is a gasp from within your arms, garbled through the magical effect stripping the world of common languages and communication, as Sasha beholds the emergence of your still recently acquired tools of the enemy’s downfall. He says something, you aren’t sure what, and you can’t tell if its caution or reverence he suddenly regards you with. Your smile softens and you giggle at his shock. Still, he says something that comes out as nonsense through the strange filter choking your world. There is no mistaking the lessening expression of shock and calculation taking up his features.
>>
>>36974689

As you get closer, you feel the surging of wild emotions around you. The panic and unrest in concert creating a symphony to your senses. Soon you are before the tower complex, where civilian authorities are setting up makeshift barricades while trying their best to contain the crowds.

Stopping on a rooftop you survey the scene, a few news vans are about the area as well. Even if no one can understand one another’s speech, this potential end of civilization would still be televised.

To either side of you, Kairi and Midori are wreathed in light as they don their disguises.

Kairi motions that she and Midori will go wide and around, you assume to offset your combined arrival.

Now how to approach the tower, bathed in eerie light.

Home from the holidays, will catchup shortly.
Hi folks.
>>
>>36974700
Stealthily.
Let Sasha figure out how he wants to fit into this.
>>
I think it's kind of hard for Sasha to operate independently if he isn't magic and can't understand us.
>>
>>36975154
Mainly I hope that hinders him from getting directly involved. Particularly since we can't coordinate at all.

I'm also going to push for switching gears to Eclipse once we're clear of him.

Finally home.

I don't know. Red eyes has been ticked off that we've swapped her out before a fight before. She's been revving to go the whole way here.

That being said the Holiday sale is on steam. Any of you guys want something off of there?
>>
>>36975260
Yeah, but I'm hoping to put that anger to use on Justicing and Heroic Righteous Ass-Whuppin', rather than just angry savage beat-downs.

..I wonder if it would be odd to have Red-Eyes become more one with Eclipse before integrating fully into Mikage proper.
>>
>>36975306
I'm afraid to open Steam during sale time.
I could be tempted by it.
>>
>>36975365
Eh I'm offering.
>>
>>36975331
>Yeah, but I'm hoping to put that anger to use on Justicing and Heroic Righteous Ass-Whuppin', rather than just angry savage beat-downs.

I think angry savage beat downs might be the order of the day here.

That said, I don't think it's a good idea to be the beast while the scouts are hanging around. Not unless we want a lightning bolt to the face. So we need to consider swapping when it gets too late.
>>
>>36975530
but don't the scouts know that we're the beast?
>>
>>36975530
They've seen red eyes take down the bad guys on two occasions. And I think Koyomi is aware that Mikage is Red eyes. Didn't we straight up tell her? Or am I mistaken?
>>
>>36975539
Not all of them, and they can't exactly tell each other to not fire on us.
>>
>>36975530
That would be another good reason to switch, more self-serving-ish, but alright.

>>36975539
Yes to the Beast, but we're trying to build a Tuxedo mask deal with Eclipse, and frankly I feel like we've been slacking in the Mysterious Hero department lately.
>>
>>36975547

Thanks to Aiha's magic eyes, they figured out Miki was the Beast...then we were still Miki when they came home. Then we straight up told Aiha, and later Koyomi. The others are all in the know. Presumably when Rin, Venus, Aiha, and Kanari went home in Venus's mom's driver's car.
>>
>>36975547
We did.
>>
>>36975547
Which is why we don't want to be the Beast when they show up.
>>
>>36975673
Seeing Mikage as a visceral combat monster that will go toe to toe and demolish foes is a bad thing?

Putting fear into Sailor Jupiter. Seriously though she's my favorite scout, all that passion. Shame she gives Mikage so much shit. I feel like Red eyes shows her just how Brutal/Powerful Mikage is and should really spark the question.. What made her quit
>>
>>36975787
She sees a bit cooler with Mikage now, more competitive especially given the run scene. She's concerned about trusting her, but I think she's stopped giving her shit.
>>
>>36975503
You literally cannot give things away.
>>
>>36975787
I like to fight smart, and I have a feeling we're going to need to get mighty tricksy against whatever Shadow Scientist has cooking here.

He can, I'm just having to poke around the sale a bit since I hadn't before.
>>
>>36975818
I'd totally poach her from Koyomi if possible. Love the spitfires.

I'm still pleased by that interlude where she stated.. sure Mikage Scared her in that fucking alley.. but that Beast thing. Goddamn. HAH YOU WERE EXPECTING A MONSTER! YOU WERE RIGHT! BUT IT WAS I MIKAGE!

You nod to the girls and they break off away from you. Kneeling you let Sasha down, he composes himself and adjusts his shirt while you back away and then turn toward the edge of the roof.

~This is it,~ you take a deep breath and laugh in the gravelly voice that comes with your form, ~I know you can’t understand me, Sashy...but the stage is set,~

Turning back to face him, you spread your arms wide and then take a rather theatrical bow. He says something you can’t parse, confusion across his face.

~I couldn’t just leave you back there, but here,~ you gesture wide, ~you’ll be able to see it all. So keep a sharp eye. This is the world of the magical girl you idolized...it isn’t for people,~

Turning away, you stride toward the edge of the roof and drop down, giving him a casual wave. You hear his protests and turn in mid fall to see him rushing to the edge and reaching out for you. Smiling maniacally you kick off the face of the building and soar over the crowd, landing in a low crouch on a police car. Springing off of the vehicle, and laughing the whole way, you continue over the barricade to the shrieks and sudden attention of the crowd.

Their fear is palpable. Fear of you is empowering. In the back of your mind you feel a surge of awareness, the power over natural darkness in bloom. Power you never expected to exist. It is you. Your own. Not born of the stolen weapon of the enemy that you turn against them with senses and fangs.
>>
>>36975980

Landing in a roll, you run as spot lights fall on you, though fall away as you leap over and around obstacles toward the base of the tower. The air is thick with the sweet, savory, and sour flavors of shadows. Whatever they are, they’re weak and inconsistent. Black puddles litter the area, occasionally clawing hands reach up from these dark pools and disintegrate.

It chills you, the chance that there could be shadows without people, but excites you all the same.

The tower looms before you.

You touch the power gained from the fear others have in you, the red eyed beast. The bubbling magical power you’ve naturally accrued over darkness from the same place your claws come from. It is a greater power, a magic you didn’t know you had at your disposal. And you know just how to use it.

>Shadow Conjuration Spell like ability used. Conjuration Spell Mimicked: Phantom Chopper.

You let darkness bloom in front of you and coalesce into a weird shape that solidifies into a shining motorcycle. Oh yes. You like this.

Straddling the vehicle, you rev it and take off in a wheelie, cackling madly to the base of the tower. It takes and rides evenly up the surface of the tower, single headlight burning a path ahead of you through the weird light and aura of the tower, as you feel its natural force of gravity behaving strangely. No matter, you roar onward up the side of the superstructure of tokyo tower.

In you wake rise lesser shadow creatures. Incomplete and lacking something born of a human. Poor projections that are weak, those that do rise ahead of you break beneath the wheel of your vehicle.

Clearing the lower observation deck, you rocket toward the secondary one high above. The long drive ending with a hard landing and your own heartbeat racing.

There, standing between three scintillating spheres of rippling light is a bulky and muscular figure with blue circuitous skin wearing a lab coat and torn pants. His eyes burn yellow, and his small tuft of hair is white. He is surprised and seemed to have been in the middle of cleaning his glasses.

“Well this is a surprise,” he comments idly and not affected by the tower’s field, “I was expecting the Sailor Senshi,”

You barely let his words hit you before you rev your bike to life again and circle wide so you aren't facing the center of the tower viewing platform. You'll run this bastard right off of the roof. Evil jerk in a lab coat, they know. They fucking know what they did to you and they're mocking you.

"Awkward, so was I!" you snarl and charge at him with the bike.

You will not be fucking mocked!

He smiles as you close the distance.

"Foolish child! That bike is made of magic, and it will be nothing against-"

You pass through a shimmering field of energy, you are reminded of the bubble shell Aiha used in her first fight to keep low level magic at bay. This structure is stronger, but not by much, and you pierce through it.

>Bullrush successful, congrats on picking the way to beat the puzzle fight with no muss because going over the crowd made you aware of your Darkness Domain

The front wheel slams into him an you lean forward, laughing and burning the engine as hard as you can. Black smoke spews, quasi real, from the back of the vehicle as the wheel leaves it's mark upon the floor of the platform.

"-HOW!?" he roars as his hands clamp down on the headlamp as his feat lose their footing. For all his bulk he seems to have no idea how to use it, "Magic to cross that barrier should have been beyond almost anyone in this world!"

All you do is laugh.

Crossing the length of the platform, the three spheres quiver and distort as he is pushed away from them. They crackle with energy as the barrier around him dissipates, the careful arrangement of his ritual undone by removing him from the protected space. Had you or the young Senshi unloaded your usual supernatural salvo against him, it would have been useless.

Pushing him over the edge of the observation platform, he seems to calm down. By some aspect of its supernatural nature, your bike continues along open air as though it were solid ground.

"This will require a require a revision," the hulking blue scientist sighs as he releases his grip on your bike and begins falling like a rock fading from sight, "A tactical retreat,"

Your charge continues for a forward until your bike is reminded of the hold gravity has over it, your back lifts off the seat as you begin to pitch forward and fall, several hundred feat from any surface. You doubt the enhanced power of your Jump will do much to deter it.

And, even though you appear alone, and appear to be about to fall a few hundred feet to certain death, you are again surrounded in that ambient scent of anger. And back on the tower, far below and away, you can make out the distant combat between your knights and the weaker shadows on the lower observation deck.

Though I'd love to find the source of that anger.

Alternate solution: Mundane knife and precision damage express from the batman approach could have worked as well.

>>36978151
Don't crop the sentence, it's telling us that we can see Kairi and Midori fighting on the tower. Not that we are on the tower.

>>
>>36978195
Or we could do an on the fly glider conversion.
>>
>>36978155
So we have to clear 45ft of space to slide back to the tower?

How about we jump off the bike, propelling us toward the tower, could we clear 45 feet with that?
>>

>>36978118
I got it!

Bike is made of magical shadow.
>Control Darkness and Shadow
We can cause shadow to move in a small, area.
In the most limited reading, we can at least stop the bike from falling from a 5 foot area.
>>
>>36978240
Oh shit, that might be it.

So then we would be floating. Could we use this to float the bike back toward the tower, Artemis?
>>
>>36978240
We can slowly make it look like we're riding it to the ground. Bitchin'
>>
>>36978240

>>
You cannot change the phantom chopper into a glider.

>>
>>36978251
At worst we can hold it in the air until we have a better idea.
>>
>>36978277
Uh...huh. Gimme a minute to read and make a ruling.
>>
>>36978240
5 foot cube per level.
So 30 cubic feet of area we could move it in if we can't move the area of effect.
>>
>>36978155
If we spend the extra mp to use shadow slide as a move action could we cast it again as a standard action during the same turn?
>>
>>36978329
There is a question of speed. Closest mention is it says we can move them fast enough to follow us within the area.
If we are allowed a reasonable amount of speed, we could use that 30 cubic feet as a ramp back toward the roof.

Even if it isn't enough, it might be close enough to Slide.

Tricky thing is that it is still 1 round+Concentration, so gotta stay focused.
We'll have to see if the area of effect can be moved, I could see ruling either way.
One way could get us an aerial jump ramp (depending on movement speed). the other could net us concentration-based flying motorcycle time (not a thing to rely on, but cool).

Rolled 5 (1d100)

You exert your supernatural ability to control shadows upon the Quasi real material from the edge of reality. It responds in kind and holds fast in mid air. Willing it to slide, you force it back 40 feet toward the tower. Maintaining your concentration will be easy enough, you sneer in the direction your foe fell, it should take another twelve seconds to the tower.

>Maintaining concentration on this spell is a standard action.

The anger still coalesces around you, though you feel a tickle as the wordless shouts below become distant words. Lights spark and sputter back on the tower as the spheres glow in erratic intensity, causing the wind to pick up.

There is a slight pull on your neck. Your locket floats ahead of you, something is tugging on it weakly. The anger reeks of desperation. It is trying to pull it from your neck.

>you have a move action if you choose to maintain concentration on your spell. You are two rounds of this spell from setting your bike safety on the platform.

The wind picks up as the spheres fall into one another, taking on a weird amoeba shape of scintillating light and color. Your will over the darkness surges and you push it closer to the tower, almost there. Almost to safety.

You are pissed that you didn't get you fill and fight, but that was still amazing. You will be further pissed if something takes your locket.

Reaching up, you grab the necklace holding it in place. The tug against you pulls weakly, desperation and rage rising.

~Let it go,~ you snarl, ~This is MINE,~

A silhouette forms in the air between you and the amorphous shape the spheres merged into. It floats twenty feet away, and is humanoid in shape. You can't make out the finer features as the light shines through it, transparently, but it's small and wearing some kind of dress or smock.

"Give it back!" it snarls at you in a young and high pitched voice.

Hold it

We can move shadows, here's the description

Move Shadow: The affected shadow moves as you direct within the area. You can create shadow illusions (as those created by a silent image spell, but without color), reveal hidden creatures by taking their shadow away, cause shadows to follow you within the area of the spell, or otherwise move the shadow as you see fit. You cannot move areas of darkness in this way.

Maybe we can move its shadow and reveal what it is?
>>
>>36979287

You move the bike back to the rooftop and take hold of the locket, eyes on the translucent creature as you move. In the light of the amorphous gooey shape against the spire. As it rests upon the solid surface, you point the locket at the misty figure and shout.

~Moon BEAM!~ you shout out and shine your revealing light on the figure.

It shields their eyes and you are met with a sleight figure with dark skin and in a hospital gown. Her thin blonde hair appears matted against her skull and there is a trickle of blood from her lips. She is familiar, you've seen her before.

The magical light bends around her and she appears as a small child in a hooded dark dress. The blood and matting of her hair fades.

You were wrong before. It wasn't Sasha you saw inside the Shadow bear before. It was this figure, and Sasha's earlier words about his family echo in your memory.

'There was an accident,'

Below you, lighting pulses at the base of the tower. Fire burns. Light beams soar. Mist spreads. Your sister is there, probably laying into the rabble you passed on the way.

The figure before you isn't soaked in shadows, it left the bear in anger when you removed the crystal...how long had she been in there? She doesn't smell of shadow taint.

~Can we talk about this later? This is a bad time, a bad place, and I'm the wrong me if you're expecting some kind of pity,~

You drop your hand and turn to inspect the glowing mass formed of those three spheres the blue doc was mucking with. The beam catches the hem of your skirt, and beneath it's light is the white of the gown of your heritage.

Carefully, you inspect the mass without getting too close. You stare at it a moment with your ability to recognize certain things about magical lore. The ghost child floats beside you, anger given way to other emotions. Confusion, if you were to wager by the look on her misty and translucent face.

The pulse of light hastens. And you feel the energy building. After a moment you see the magic at work...those spheres were some kind of remote magical casting constructs. Coalesced their power is unstable. It's going to discharge a fusion of magic set upon a summoning core around an explosive eruption. Luckily it will explode way up here where it can't hurt anyone...but you.

~Go,~ you growl over the din of warping magical energies, ~Find me after if this doesn't fuck everything up!~

You lose sight of the ghost girl. Good. You approach the the shimmering energy and direct your bike into the swirling energies, trying to use it to siphon off the power by tricking it with you faux summoning. It was your hope to channel all the excess energy into the shadow of the world...but...

There is a pulsing wave as your shadow conjured motorcycle collapses, and that burst of energy hurls you back and again over the edge of the observation deck. Again to presumably fall to your doom, you twist as a rag doll in the air.

The shock of the blast, rattles you and you can't react quite quickly enough. As you turn in the air to face the ground, you expect to see the approaching means of your death. Be it the ground or the lower observation deck below. Instead, you see salvation.

Shining like a rising sun.

Flying toward you from below in a burning aura is a figure in white, red, and yellow. Determination is etched across her face as the newly hewn Regalia of the Sun clings to her form, red ribbon trailing behind her along with red and black hair.

Is this the Senshi of the Sun?

"I've got you!" Keiko says as her arms wrap around you and stop your fall.

Far above there is a blinding eruption and a bone shaking roar.

It's going to mean more drama afterwards. Just because the effects aren't seen immediately, doesn't mean they aren't there.
>>
>>36981462
Nope. As it stands Mikage is fine the tower blew up, as it would have if we'd have road down on the bike, and Keiko gets a confidence boost because she just saved Mikage. The fail made things even better.
>>
So, how was today's thread. Not as full steam/speed as I would have liked, but it happens.

Good reveals? I congratulate you on circumventing what should have been a methodical and tactical puzzle boss. Your dice rolls may have been shit all night, but damn if you didn't make (almost) all the right choices.

Also, how do you like Keiko now?
>>
>>36981559
I already liked Keiko. That wasn't going to change.

How are we doing on XP gain? Since we short circuited a team boss on our own?
>>
>>36981559
Hitting the boss with a motorcycle is far more fun than a puzzle. The dice attempted to bring me feels and have failed.

Keiko is still fantastic. I just wish she had been a bit later. Or sooner caught in the blast would have been fantastic.
>>
>>36981592
You'll get a choice next down time between surpassing the E6 barrier or getting a Tier Up.
>>
>>36981616
I hope MAG is around for that. I'm not really sure what the difference is.
>>
>>36981559
Keiko is brilliant. And we've shown Gnash that nothing can go wrong so maybe he'll finally stop.

Kind of upset we didn't play the puzzle game.

>>
>>36981681
That is the kind of attitude that will get us considerably more than just blown up.
>>
>>36981636
It involved a lesser globe of invulnerability, excessive Deflection bonus/natural armor buffs, and a shell game of magic defenses/offenses coming from the spheres as he gives the Senshi a chance to stop him. I expected tactical eclipse scouting to solve the puzzle and inform the Senshi after the opening salvo.

>>
>>36981761

No.
>>
>>36981761
Don't see why not.

>>36981504
Was right, we aren't really any worse off and it gave us a chance at saving the tower.
>>
>>36981811
They're has got to be an actual draw back from the fail. I'm guessing Mikage is at least somewhat injured.

If happy go lucky is right and even fails can't have bad results the rolls are pointless. Personally I'm thinking he's full of it and Keiko was fated to show up in front of the other scouts during the big puzzle.

Otherwise we're dealing with some Keiko ex machina. But not sure what else saves you from a fall to your death.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_ex_machina
>>
>>36981843
Eh, there was always a possibility that she would show up. Just because we were first on the scene doesn't really mean everybody else wasn't headed here also. Hell, the police had to put up barricades because the mundanes were trying to get into the act.

Actually, are shadows resilient enough to take on a full-blown riot? It might be amusing to see them try.
>>
Failure didn't mean nothing. Didn't I write roar. Pretty sure I wrote roar.

>>36981811
Well, the tower is still in once piece, so far.

>>36981843
Your stalker's more powerful TK abilities, pulling on another high level shadow power from your divine abilities as a divine source.
>>
>>36981875
Yeah I'd assumed the scouts and in particular Keiko were on their way.

Actually trying to survive the fall would have been interesting. I'd see us pumping super jump, going berserk and putting it all into endurance, and probably casting entangle or another spell to try and slow decent.
>>
To be fair, the dice fucked us over HARD tonight.

Like, the odds of getting a 1 on every 1d20 roll is absurdly low.
>>
>>36981890
Neat! We didn't stop the bad guys, we made a new one!
>>
>>36981915
We didn't get a one on the arcane lore test. We just failed it.
>>
>>36981890
But... damit.
>>
>>36981932
I just looked back and.. we did.

Still, every other 1d20 roll being a 1 is still ridiculously bad luck.
>>
>>36981843
Whatever injury we took was worth the risk if you ask me. It took two failed rolls against pretty managable DCs to get blown off the building.

It's probably going to be another drama bomb in the aftermath when people find out we stuck around to diffuse the bomb and got ourselves blown up.

I'm not going to go into risk avoidance mode because we might not get a roll.
>>
>>36981941
Also, some of your ideas were pretty damn creative. Casting entangle at the ground right before hitting, or after that correction of the rules was pointed out to me, encasing yourself in a big ball of entangle, would have softened the blow.
>>
>>36981946
See >>36981890

Roar was apparently overlooked by most of us.

Also..

Give me an Arcane Lore test to see if you can shunt this power into your currently active and manipulated spell.

Best of 3d20 isn't 1d20. The chances of rolling a 1 are 3 times higher.

We have a force field that gets stronger when you spend more mp casting it.

Dunno if it could mitigate that kind of damage though.

Would the berserk endurance buff help as well? Just.. in case we fall off a building in the future?
>>
>>36981890
You did write that, but I thought you were describing the blast when I read it.
>>
>>36981958
Here's a question. Could we have made a ball of entangle instead of encasing ourselves in it and sort of jumped off of it? Sort of summoning steps to try and slow the decent?
>>
>>36981975
Falling damage is 1d6 per 10 feet to a maximum of 20d6

Live and learn. Full disclosure. There is a monster made of magic and still a bunch of minion level creatures about thanks for Doc Blue's machinations.

no, just the same color. He's Doctor Borealis, I just realized his mannerisms and appearance reminded me of the current incarnation of The Hulk, who is calling himself Doc Green
>>
>>36982052
>monster made of magic and still a bunch of minion level creatures

Does this mean Mikage actually made everything worse?
>>
>>36982097
With her self-esteem fluctuations... the answer is always probably.
>>
>>36982092
Huh, so the Hulk is back to having Banner's intelligence again these days. I been out of the Marvel/DC thing for a long long time.
>>
>>36982097
You took a major high level spell caster and his magic casting shell game and ritual effects off the field and ended the city wide panic inducing Tower of Babel effect.

You made things better. Now there's a big team fight against a monster.
>>
>>36982111

Oh, Doc Green is a big problem. He isn't banner. He is actively keeping banner off the field. He isn't Professor Hulk. He's something worse.
Maestro Intensifies
>>
>>36982097
Well the spell was a summoning anyway right? Maybe doc borealis' plan always involved bringing this thing out.
>>
>>36982123
Well... my knowledge of Hulk ain't that great, but it sounds like that might be a little new.
>>
>>36982114
Hmm. But did any of the tiny scouts actually see us negate the shell game?

If they didn't it appears Mikage has done nothing. If They did they saw her knock boss man off the roof on a goddamn motorcycle. It's a win, win.

(non canon) Omake (because I'm terrible)

You are Nephrite Knight. Together you stand with your sister in arms. You bearing a sword, she bearing a dagger.

Back to back. Blade by blade. Two knights fight in tandem while shouting to each other in words they cannot understand. Inky black foes come toward them only to be cut down...but the waves seem unending.

Fighting their way up the tower was difficult, but in their hopeful respite, they found only amassing darkness.

"Du wabble nur calci-sum another piece of me? Huh! I'll show you whose bad!" Jadeite Knight cries out from behind you, the veil of language lifted.

"She did it!" you cry out as your sword laces through a charging foe.

"Finally. I was getting sick and tired of all the nonsense," she smiles.

"So, I've been meaning to ask," you query amid violence, "Why the dagger? Isn't it a little small for a knightly weapon?"

"Hey!" she cries out and twists her blade in a flourish while one arm guards (hides) her chest, "Big ones only get in the way!"
