Hear ye, hear ye, I call order another meeting of the Mage Guild.

I have unfortunate news. The Chronomancers' Tower has been displaced in the spacetime continuum again and won't return until last week, so I'm going to have cancel the senior apprentices' field trip to Ancient Egypt. I know this will be a big disappointment, but there's really nothing else to be done. In lieu of that, they'll need an alternate way to fulfill their ancient history requirement. Any suggestions?
>>
>>37026238
I think I can gather up some old people with very long memories to help out from my department. I did a quick headcount lately and the department has a lot of people these days. Even if it's been a while since I've seen any of them make the meetings.

Which brings me to something I would like to bring up, it's been a while since our current Head of Necromancy, Lich Cerik, showed his face. And while we all know how he has a reputation of dodging work it's starting to become a problem for the department. So unless he shows up again in another week, I will officially be reinstating myself as head of the department. Department regulations be damned.
>>
>>37026238
>A muffled banging and yelling is heard within the floorboards.
>>
>>37026474
>stares disapprovingly at the floorboards before sending a pair of skeletons to remove the floorboards in question
I'm going to regret this aren't I?
>>
>>37026465
>coughing and wheezing
Don't ask. I don't know. Thanks.
>>
>>37026656
Well at least with you I can assume you had a good reason for being stuck under the floorboards. To be honest I expected to find some apprentice who had botched a teleportation spell.
>>
>>37026743
Good is a bit of a relative term. What day is it? I believe I had too much to drink over wizardmas. Heard what went down last meeting, but was too hung over to make the effort to get out.
>>
>>37026238
I could ask my father, there should be some ancient texts in his hoard. On that note some of our Kobolds disapeared, anyone of you know what happened to them?
>>
It is awfully late for the meeting to be held.
Except that it might be awfully early. The worst thing is that while you can probably guess what is going on with the chronomancers, you can never say when.
>>
S'ulei can always take fellow wizards through Elsweyr if sand is what you need, hm?
>>
>>37026805
Oh. It's you. Hi.
>>37026790
Haven't seen them, but I'll keep an eye out. Have a description of them?
>>
>>37026810
Oh, I've been there, wasn't it... three centuries ago? I remember people making a big fuss about some tribunal thing.
>>
>>37026769
So you have been stuck there since the wizardmas festivities? I imagine things got interesting for you when the hall got turned upside down then.
>>
>>37026839
Uh yes, small, srcawny, red scales, cheap clothes, skittering away like cockroaches when they are in danger. Pretty koboldy actually.
>>
>>37026238
Well my student could perform a grand scrying to show everyone what the times were like. Would that work?

>>37026805
Isn't that the truth, mostly.
>>
Until last week? But last week already happened, how can they
Ugh, stupid chronomagic, always making my head hurt. Now as for ancient history requirements, what about just going to, I don't know, a museum. A normal one.
>>
>>37026839
Ah, Conspierre. I was looking forward this meeting. Let me apologive about the whole "maniac" thing. I heard my insults have had a great impact on you and Cromina and as such I want to say I am very sorry about that. I owe you my life, I shouldn't have yelled at you like that.
>>
>>37026886
...
Ah.
>quickened greater invisibility
>>37026881
>whispering
allow me to say, Quickened Spells is the best metamagic feat ever.
>>
>>37026844
Not really, not much room down there. Saved me the trouble of rolling over though.
>>37026895
...I accept your apology.
>>37026880
Red? I wouldn't hold your breath.
>>
>>37026912
Fryia please, I seen you standing there a good three minutes before you noticed me, you're just wasting mana. We need to talk.
>>
>>37026886
>>37026238
Look, I can give you a thirty-four year lecture in Chronomantic studies, or you can just trust us when we say that there is a certain need for subjective time when it comes to repairing the timelines after some idiot thought it would be funny to open a Far Realm portal over the top of an off-book divinatory ritual that was trying to look into the future for lottery tickets.
>>
>>37026238
We could always just have them spend the afternoon with some of the more senior members of the faculty, they always seem eager to discuss the past.

I swear, if I hear Professor Fishsnap's bloody trout story one more time...
>>
Mortimer here. Have left for a while to search for new coffee tree species I have heard about. Instructions on how to make coffee on the table. Good luck, and what ever you do, don't let Soros make the coffee. Trust me on this one.
>>
>>37026924
You saw red Kobolds around here? I swear father is furious, outraged, sick with anger.
>>
As a side note, the economy of the local area has been un-crashed via some clever if very dangerous work from my students. Perhaps the survivors will graduate soon.
>>
>>37026930

>dispel
... Ok. You're right. It is just that... I don't want to get mad at you again. And your hair are the wrong hue of purple right now.
>>
>>37026912
She already saw you, and yes it is quite useful.

>>37026974
*hands him a bottle of wine*

>>37026930
>>37026983
*smirks*
>>
>>37026930
>>37026912
Oh good, you're both here. For Ilyria's sake, you'd best get over your differences in opinion. Noel, it would probably set Fryia's mind better at ease if you let her see what you were doing with that bauble. Fryia, consider that this is coming from me when I tell you that you are acting too heavily on your suspicions. Yes, be cautious, but don't instantly jump to alienating your friends and allies. And to both of you, please, by the love of all that you consider holy, give her "the talk." I am not explaining to her how lesbians work.
>>
>>37027013
Building on what Pierre said get the emotional overflow of you blood bond fixed.

>>37026938
*starts making coffee*
>>
>>37026998
Skill focus: stealth is another one I should have taken.
>>37027013
>coming from me when I tell you that you are acting too heavily on your suspicions
Rather impressive.
... what about lesbians?
>>
>>37026935
Lottery tickets?! The entire reason why the tower's gone is because some chucklehead wanted to cheat in the lotto?
>>37026983
What? It is? Great.
>>
>>37027047
She needs the talk. I'm just the godfather. I'm not explaining that it is possible for women to have sex with each other because the inevitable follow up question is always "how?" Your problem, not mine.
>>
>>37026974
The trip's budget was just enough to cover expenses. If the economy improved that means we only have enough money for *shuffles papers* two apprentices...

Hello Soros, any news on my spellcasting yet?
I know it's not a high priority but I'm starting to realise just how much I used to really on magic to get things done before my transformation.
>>
>>37027070
The lottery is a terrible way to make money regardless.

Unless you're running it.

>>37027085
Such is life. I'll get the perpetual money engine fired up again if we really need it. Now, where are those golems I was promised?
>>
>>37027047
Illyria doesn't get how you two have intercourse, we aren't going to explain. Also fix your blood bond's emotional overflow.

>>37027091
Still working on it, getting a lot of interference I need to get through.
>>
>>37027070
Seriously, honey, I'm sorry about, well, everything, but... please try to stay focused and not let your anger override your mind, ok?
>>37027080
Geez, thank you, but I guess I have another issue to solve right now. What has gotten into me when I decided you and Cromina would have been perfect in that role!
>>37027117
You mentioned it last meeting too. What is this bond and is it "broken", so to speak?
>>
>>37026238
HA, I knew it was time for me to shine, all I need to do is wizard up the text and turn it into English!
>>
>>37027047
Apparently Mazfiggabblewhatever isn't exactly, how you say, 'open' to that kind of thing and she lived in a palace for most of her life.
Which is shocking, you think being a matriarchy would result in women fooling around with each other, but I guess not.
>>
>>37027101
With the increasing cost of reagents you've only been approved for *counts fingers* 3/4 of a golemn.
>>
>>37027117
Master Diviner, may I ask you to look for my fathers Kobolds? Three disapeared, they are marked as "Property of Draconis the Red" if that helps.
>>
>>37027148
... well this is surprising to say the least. I see we have more to explain to her than what I thought.
That said... I don't think you are a power hungry madwoman, Noel. Please forgive me, I should have trusted you when you asked me to do so. I've been selfish and acted like an absolute cunt to people I have not the right to lash at, especially you.
>>
How curious, I've been reading over the guild rules and regulations and I believe that if I understand the wording correctly, according to Section 17.5 paragraph 23 clause 4 footnote XVII, it is perfectly legal to liquefy an apprentice for research purposes as long as they are scraped into a jar no larger than 4" in radius and stored in a cool dark place.

Gods bless our needlessly byzantine bureaucracy.
>>
>>37027131
Well, I have been hard at work trying to patch things up with her homeland. They've stopped trying to send assassins, are convinced that she's on a pilgrimage, and are entirely busy dealing with other things. May or may not be a cultural revolution going on with a large faction of drow worshiping other gods. I've even kept bloodshed to a minimum, only the fanatics calling for genocide are taken out. And swiftly. I knew that Gloom would come in handy, some of them even worship my image as a god of...I'm not sure exactly, but they're desperate to keep blood out of the streets for fear of angering me.

>>
>>37027131
You two have an empathic bond, causing your strong emotions to bleed over. For example your depression and Noel's anger. I'm guessing it formed when you re consummated your love after we recovered you from Jheska.

>>37027159
They are in the Alchemy department trying to change lead to gold.

>>37027217
I don't see her as one either. And if either of you get the sense I might be turning into one, please give me a good slap upside the head. I am dead serious.
>>
>>37027070
Yes. It was, I will be reliably informed three days from now, one of the economancer students.

The one who was dabbling in the divinatory ritual, that is. The person who opened the portal is at large, and we haven't been informed from the future yet.

Next time, could somebody stage an invasion of the Abyss, or perhaps end the Blood War? I mean, really. Fixing the fuckups of first-years is a waste of my time and the kingdom's money, especially since we had to crash the economy just to purchase a big enough stock of reagents. If the accounting department had approved our request to restock our Quintessence (specifically dawn of time and end of time variants), this wouldn't have been a problem.
>>
>>37027217
Don't worry Fryia, I forgive you, I really should've explained my motives for it too. I just wanted to be able to protect you and Ilya better.
>>
>>37027295

Good afternoon, everyone. I hope everyone had a blessed holiday season.

Now, what is the matter of the day?
>>
>>37027351
No problem, give him my regards. Also take the 2nd floor entrance first floor is having a slime making a mess.

>>37027353
Chronomancers messed up time and now a field trip has been cut out because of it.
>>
>>37027253
We got regulations on how many hats each one of us is supposed to have and how many of them should be bought every century. Go figure.
>>37027255
Pierre! I've just said you are not a megalomaniac and you tell me your are tricking people into thinking you are a god?
>>37027295
How do you know what we did after that, soros?
>eye twitching
>>37027303
You kindness is more than I deserve. I'm so glad I have you.
>>37027296
You would be dead, period. But I think I would let Noel judge her own apprentice.
>>37027353

>>
>>37027381
...Maybe I just let them try for now. Maybe they really manage to create gold. That would please my father a lot more.
>>
>>37027397
Fryia Crowflame, yes? Anfarthon informs me that you are head of one of the facilities here.
I am Niamal of Rosetide, filling in as Head Lawmagus in Anfarthon's absence.
>>
>>37027397
Regulations I have always found restrictive, personally.

A man should have as many hats as he deems fit.

>>37027353
The chronomancers have mucked about with the fabric of the universe as per usual.
I think there's also some kind of personal drama afoot but nobody's been turned into anything interesting yet so I haven't been paying much notice.
>>
>>37027296
Don't worry Sam, if you become a powerhungry madwoman, I'll be right beside you giving you a good ol' dose of humiliation to set you straight again.
Or I'll just smack you upside the head with Valflame, either or really.
>>
>>37027397
Deductive reasoning, I have enough of a sex life I don't need to peep.

>>37027435
That would be unwi-*explosion from alchemy lab* Oh dear.
>>
>>37027397
Not intentionally. I just don't know how to stop it without turning it to bloodshed in the streets. So I'm just continuing with what I've been doing, killing the ones advocating a purge of the ones who think that maybe a purge of the surface world isn't the best idea. Trying to find a god willing to pick up "enforced non violence," there's some interest, but not as much as you'd expect. At least it's the image of that Gloom I bought that they're worshiping instead of my actual one. That'd get awkward.
>>
>>37027381
>>37027442
No, we're the ones FIXING the damn thing.

It's the economancer students who broke it because they wanted to win a lottery.

We did crash the gold price, but we needed a certain amount of gold value for our focus components, and Accounting refused to just do the simple thing and buy more.

Greetings, fellows. Sorry I'm a bit late, had a shipment of corpses to get offloaded and refrigerated in preparation for next semester. You do not want semi-fresh corpses rotting next to your classroom. I did that once. Never going to have to explain myself to that many paladins again.

How are you all doing? Did I miss anything important?
>>
>>37027461
...In Tiamats name, what have they done? *goes to look for the kobolds*
>>

>>
>>37027532

>>
>>37027461

>>37027504

>>
>>37027634

>>
>>37027515
>It's the economancer students who broke it because they wanted to win a lottery.
Ridiculous. They were busy at the time fixing the economy of the surrounding area, and wouldn't have any time. Moreover, lotteries are well-known as a joke in all economancy circles.
>>
>>37027634
Fryja believe me or not, it is your call. If you want to fight about it, I would be happy to oblige.
>>
>>37027634
Anfarthon's departure was unrelated to you. He had long been feeling depressed and guideless since he was Dishonored. He feels that an excursion of his own will help him to find his purpose in this new life.
And until then, I must perform his duties.
>>
>>37027577
*comes back with three singed Kobolds*

*Kobolds look confused*
Father is going to kill you...so staying with the wizards?
*Kobolds nod frantically*
>>
>>37027550
Good, I was hoping we would get that shipment before the end of the week. Oh and Professor Doomblight, I'm going to resume my title as head of the department unless Lich Cerik shows up soon. So if you would be so kind as to help spread the word among the other members of the Necromancy Department that would be appreciated.
>>
>>37027678
I didn't say they were your good students.

And yes, the economy was us. We needed five hundred thousand gold's worth of quintessence to fix the problem, and we had one hundred thousand available (budget, you know). Our choices were either to wait for Accounting to approve a purchase or just inject enough gold from the future into the present that we crash the market and get what we had to be worth five hundred thousand.

By the way, about fifty-seven years from now, there'll be a scarcity.

Then I visit that city, convince them to ally with more of the surface world, and be even more magnanimous. Playing on a whole lot of rivalry here, not gonna lie. Need Illy to be able to hold her own as well, this is a long term thing.

No. Unless you're counting this as a scheme to not have to keep warding off assassins. It's easier to just have people not want her dead. I'll take a blood oath if you want.

Please do, Pierre. I will officiate the ceremony personally. I hope you understand I can't just put her fate into someone else hands, even an old friend whom I trust. Especially someone I trust. Think about what happened lately.

No, I understand perfectly. I, Pierre, swear to make every effort to protect Illyria Crowflame, adoptive daughter of Warlock Noel the Pyromancer and Fryia the Crow. I once captured a Bard and he started making his own music, what kind of insanity is that? He tried to cheat me!

Markul. It's Markul. But yeah, things get pretty strange 'round these parts, 'specially since y'don't see many 'round 'ere who take t' close combat as well as they do magic. Th' only other one 'round who comes to mind is Cromina, an' she 'as a bit of an inferiority complex. Say, you got any Eldrich Knights over there?

Shit, we need t'get some sorta cross-curricular program set up. There's plenty folks out there who can fight who also got a bit of magical talen' in 'em. The only real sparrin' partner 'ere is a ball of emotional issues who needs t' learn 'ow t' apply 'erself. Last time I really got t' see proper combat was wit' a member of th' baker's guild.

>>
>>37030234

You're not the only one wit' close combat talen' here. Go an' get your supplies, I can 'old down the fort. An' I'd be awfully grateful if you could get some lard bread on the way back. Everytime i capture the heart of someone and he pulls out a banjo i start sweating in anger because curses aren't things you can just shake of because "i play the banjo!"
>Pulls of his cursed music instrument while ranting.

I SWEAR, MAKING SOMEONE USELESS. IS TERRIBLE.
>The NecroDancer starts playing the cursed music instrument rapidly!

WHEN I CAPTURE BARD HEARTS I JUST LEAVE THEM ON THE FLOOR BEATING SO I CAN LAUGH AT THEM. THERE'S NO USE TO BEING A BARD, YOU JUST PLAY MUSIC AND SEX WOMEN. WELL I HAPPENS LIFE ISN'T LIKE THAT. IF I WAS CONFRONTED WITH A BARD IW OULD RATHER JUMP INTO THE PIT OF FIRE THAN BATTLE HIM. LIKE WHO DE HELL DOES HE THINK HE IS? SOME KIND OF GOD-BLESSED MUSIC MAKER? 1000 YEARS UNDER-EVOLVE BLESSED BY GOD OF TRICKERY. IT MUST BE. THEY HAVE IT TOO EASY, ITS NOT FAIR FOR OTHER PEOPLE

>NecroDancer ranting intensifies to a point where you can only hear his mouth cackling and his music getting louder until he eventually storms off.

Mos' of the 'umans in the clans are refugees from th' far east, so th' culture's a mix of their traditions and a bit of orcish Druidic tradition. Definitely shows in the garb an' their armor. Mos' of th' armor is lamellar. Lotta protection without usin' much materials. Gotta make do with what we got out in th' marshes. Like I said before, mos' of th' spellcasters are witch doctors and druids. Mos' clansfolk orcs see 'umans as a smaller cousin to the orc race.

Well, any idea where it is then, I am running light on spells at the moment. Really want to deal with it quickly.
>>
>>37032136
I'm sorry, master, but scrying into the magic mirror proved useless. It kept telling me that I was the fairest of them all. Sadly, I am not yet powerful enough to see past its enigma.
>>
>>37032216
come back vex thats not what he meant
>>
>>37032240
I think it's gone. I remember Conspierre talking to it about something.
>>
>>37032240
>>37032288
Oh. Whiffed a fear spell. It was mildly startled, turned out to be sentient, and then just left on its own. Turns out it was lost.
>>
>>37032274
>>37032216
I... think it might be a better idea t' let th' half-orc handle this. Y'know, th' one who told you 'bout them.
>>
>>37032268
You'll get it one day Marcus.

>>37032288
>>37032315
Well then carry on. Seems to have been a tame evening.
>>
So, does anyone know of anywhere that I can set up my stall? A parade ground, perhaps?
>>
>>37032216
Uhm Vex, he said earlier that you have to scar yourself heavily to use that form of magic. Just making sure you heard that. So...when can I pick up the robes?
>>
>>37032394
oh go set up on ysgard you will get lots of buisness
>>
>>37032394
In the courtyard approximately 3 feet to the left of the talking statue.
>>
>>37032394
The northwestern courtyard might be good, if you wind up getting silk from the swamp witch. Otherwise, merchants have docked in the southern courtyard in the past, so it might just be more convenient to set up shop there.
>>
>>37032445
Excellent. I'll set up in the Northwest courtyard. If that doesn't work out, I can move South.

I suppose I'll wait for the witch to return before I ask her about the spiders.
>>
Just got real quiet in here.

Surprise, cockfags! I bring you an orc witch doctor! I've taken to naming her Ooga Booga. Out of respect.

Enjoy the interrogation! I'm off to cure world hunger by spreading the wonders of cannibalism to needy children!
>POOF!
>>
>>37032723
Goodnight, Master.
>>
>>37032724
*applies palm to face* And now I need a drink.

Good artwork.
>>
>>37032717
Is this thread Archived? Because it got hilarious.
>>
I got distracted playing SS13. Rip.
>>
>>37032755
Seems I now need a drink, care for a glass Marcus? Drinking alone is rather melancholic.
*pours a firestarter*

>>37032807
You died, ouch!
>>
>>37032843
I'd be honored.
>>
>>37032724
Mmmpph! Mmmmph!!!
>>
>>37032894
*pours another firestarter and hands it to Marcus* Bottoms up kid! *gulp it down and breathes a small burst of fire out*

>>37032921
*Rips gag off Orc*
>>
>>37032921
Vola, is that you?
>>
>>37032956
Blech!

What is the meaning of this!? Why have you brought me here?
>>
>>37031980
Sorry I zoned out for a bit there!, I don't think I'm looking for a robe, I could use a full wardrobe though. I prefer things that are easy to move in and light, For everything else I have armor afterall. My tail needs to be able to move freely or its very uncomfortable. *Hands over a paper with some hastily scrawled measurements and some extra features for the clothes* That should give you all the information you need, I'm sure you do good work. Feel free to experiment a little.
>>
>>37032987
I didn't Vex did. Gods above and below know why. So what did she do to you? And no I won't undo the binding til I am sure you won't attack me.
>>
>>37033010
That bitch– You would do well to punish her for her insolence. I was in the middle of curing one of my tribesmen when she poofed into my hut, tied me up and transported me to this human-reeking place.

As for you, you are quite the looker. Release me and I promise I will attack you.
>>
>>37032998
cant you just get the tail removed
>>
>>37033069
we wanted to recruit some witch doctors but vex took it as an excuse to go kidnapping i shall take you home i guess
>>
>>37033132
Recruit us for what?
>>
>>37033069
I apologize for Vex's shenanigans. I will return you to your people shortly. Also I have a significant other, and promising to attack me is not going to help your case.

>>37033132
*Sprays Tuypo we a bottle of water* Bad Tuypo, no!
>>
>>37032998
Of course! Casual and formal clothes, or just one?

Both maybe, I should hopefully be able to afford whatever you make. Too many clothes isn't really a very hazardous problem. Also if you can work leather, My swords sheath isn't doing so well recently.
>>
>>37033257
you know soon my workload will be reduced and i will have time for my family again
>>
>>37033257
Aw, that's sweet.

Well, if you have no further need of me, I guess I'll just hop my way out of here.
>>
meeting will be over soon and theres not enough of us still here to justify an overtime see you next meeting everybody
>>
>>37033288
Dropped your nametag Tuypo. Also don't care you never learn. So I will be proactive about this.

>>37033317
Good night!

I can work with leather, but most sheaths are composed of wood and steel as well, to protect the leather and hold the whole thing together, respectively. If you have a blacksmith make it, he could probably do the whole thing. I'll get on my loom in any event.

Goodnight, lads. I've got a cold and am tired as hell.
>>
>>37033347
Whole Schit, Master! You beamed her up like a proper shcotsman!
>>
Well, it was nice to see an old friend from back in the village again, even if it wasn't for that long.
