Dust, iron and stones surrounded us, only lit by the potent white of the alchemical lamp held by her tiny arm, her tails of gold stood straight behind her spreading in a fan of fluffy furs while the vulpine hair stood straight, nearly petrified as the lady didn’t move a muscle, simply standing still near the flight of stairs leading back into the never sleeping manor; these dungeons were no place for someone as brilliant as her despite that overwhelming pragmatism, Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto didn’t seem to look me in the eyes once after leaving that torture room and for now I felt happy with our isolation that wouldn’t last too long. There was something wrong about the queen-mother and the same could be said for Mylen and perhaps every other lady I knew of.

To think of others right now is a little too unbecoming; the more I tried to find her gaze, the more this Kitsune gaze hardened forward, so I resolved to break the silence; I came and interrupted the ritual, the knife and Deruella notes still safely held at my side had been enough to convince her to stand down surprisingly fast… Perhaps she was simply concealing anger.

‘’Are you alright?’’

I asked first, breaking the ice she seemed so intent to maintain; her eyes twitched as she craned her neck to look my way and she stiffened silently and simply nodded.

‘’I know you didn’t want to do this, having a new opportunity and stopping what you resolved yourself to do is-‘’

‘’Stop’’

Her voice had completely changed from its previous steel, instead Tsukiyomi began to look at little more natural and closed her eyes, gently scooping down to put the lamp on the floor this Tenko looked momentarily lost and close her eyes.

‘’Blood magic was a desperate gambit, that’s all. It could be useful but I’ve… stepped on my moral compass more than enough; I don’t quite know how to proceed anymore, when you came, you offered a way out and I took it- I didn’t want to commit something that’d follow me through all the loops to come if we fail this bout’’

I felt tempted to ask a harsh question but then; this woman always plan for every contingency, our failure is simply another possibility but there was something else bothering her, her stance wasn’t solid, her tails didn’t have their usual imperious luster and she looked perpetually angry yet on the border of tears.

‘’Tsu…’’

That was all I could say, instead I breached the distance by putting a hand on her shoulder and I felt her tiny trembling with my palm; Tsukiyomi began to stare at her hand but quickly balled it in a fist as she fully turned toward me, swathing my hand away gently by unplucking one of her tails. Beads of sweat had colored her cheek with a slight tint of red and there was a strange worrying light in her gaze that made me swallow in dread.

‘’You went and collapsed bleeding out of every single holes in your body without so much as a warning right in front of me’’

Something so direct made me wince as if sucker punched right in the stomach but at least I kept enough composure to avoid doubling over, or look away into the boring dust surrounding us; Tsukiyomi voice had lost some of its control, her tone was slightly elevated and inevitably resounded slightly inside the empty dungeon, the other people down below were probably a little bit busy.

‘’Hadraniel is in a coma and won’t be able to fight tomorrow’’

I wanted to protest, but she didn’t let me; her picture was bleak one but her anger broke her voice and she queen-mother stopped to restrain and recoup without much success as her face twisted in a dangerous snarl aimed right at me, but I didn’t feel like she was projecting some kind of fault- it was simply emotions, a crack in her armor, like that night before this entire mess truly began… Except here it was different, there was a choking pressure surrounding the Tenko.

‘’My father died two days ago. He’s never coming back, loops or not.’’

To say Batrion sacrifice was needed was… not something I could truly judge; someone sabotaged the activation stone to overload Emeth entire psyche and Strife completely outclassed us all; his death however seemed to grant some form of peace but that’s only wishful thinking, to pretend I knew the man would be beyond arrogance but he went away with grace…which inevitably carved a deep wound for Tsu.

‘’…Athena is practically alone in the south.’’

‘’She’s going to do well, Sylphis is with her and if Ame and you trust Zechariah then I know he’s someone she can trust’’

There was a worrying glint in her gaze at the mention of the young man as she let out a low whistling growl, then proceeded to rub her face as her small form trembled much more visibly now, with the tails plucking themselves away from their previous half-moon position, they began to slither slightly as Tsu regained her composure, fast… and looked at me with an empty expression I’ve never seen before.

‘’This ritual was just an excuse on my part; I wanted to hurt these prisoners, Siegfried. I wanted to see them bleed, see them fuel this unholy magic so I could renew my purpose, that’d I’d somehow be able to clutch this hourglass in bloodied hands and turn it the way I wanted, but most of all I just wanted to see them hurt; because I’m angry, that’s all.’’

A brief little clamor reverberated itself from the stairs leading down toward the uglier parts of the cells- most likely the ladies were busy with the prisoners but that also seem to scare off Tsukiyomi who took in a deep breath, dusts or not.

‘’I’m going back to my room. Goodbye, Siegfried’’

She immediately began to race upstairs, holding her robe and twirling her tails to properly enter the entryway while abandoning the alchemical lamp, leaving me honestly dumbfounded, if not scared; for a moment I felt a strange magical projection from Tsukiyomi, an ooze of corruption seemed to hover around the tips of her tails to disappear into the air like some kind of pus or infection; of course she’s full of corruption but also… always in control, every day and every night.

So I had an idea since the last thread, guys. The church has those masks that suppress emotions, right? I bet crafty foxes would be able to adapt that kind of thing to help Ame suppress her Kumiho instincts.

I vote we tell Tsu about that idea since she would be directly involved and helping Ame handle her growing Kumiho problem could be a new purpose for Tsu to work towards.

We need to see to Tsu, but we also need to see to Mylen. And since the fight is tomorrow, we can't afford either one not being at the top of their game.

Yes, but we also know their goals and ours are at least somewhat related making him something of an ally. He did say he didn't want this war but his hands were tied politically because of new reforms to church teaching that were about to be released that took a more genocidal view with the monsters and that he really didn't much like that. Orion and/or the presence of the nuke would logically be the last obstacle that's keeping him from just packing the army up and going home. Either way Orion needs to die for Lex's plans to succeed.

I was hard pressed to keep up pace with Tsukiyomi as she rounded the corner and disappeared; the sheer hostility that hanged around her silhouette was more than enough to intimidate me but I had to do away with hesitation or distraction; I couldn’t be everywhere at once and right now the queen-mother is….

She obviously knew my tailing as I kept pace behind her throughout the mansion, nobody dared to disturb this fluffy tailed woman as she made a beeline for her room, soldiers, agents and other representative of this growing commonwealth simply zipped past in a flash and I tried my best to avoid looking into the direction of the garden where Mylen was located.

Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto room inside the manor truly had enough splendors to rival that of the queen and king present in these halls- truly the cats knew how to be good hosts- ten people could stand inside with plenty of space to spear while the bed was a large mounted mattress in white silky covers with the inevitable paper filled desks around the corners, as I closed the door gently I heard a brief splash of water and quickly found Tsukiyomi using a water bassinet, scooping down to rub her face with clear, fresh water; her tails began to slither and fro a little more organically now as I stood there unmoving.

‘’So you went and followed me’’

There was a little tired break in her voice as she finally turned to look at me, features slightly twisted in a mixture of grumpy fatigue; her robe was torn at place near her feet while I continuously felt this strange ooze of magical energy emanating from her chest.
‘’Tsu…’’

‘’You’re trying to play the good lover, right?’’

There was a hint of amusement in her voice and her following smile held no happiness, yet still the kitsune walked with moving tails toward the bed and sat on its edge, resting her hands on her thighs.

‘’You should go before you really get hurt, Siegfried’’

Then her hands balled in fist again as her glance turned sideways and her mouth curled in a grimace, white, sharp teeth peeking through slightly- Tsukiyomi was far beyond ‘’uninviting’’.

Danger and pressure; that’s what I felt as I gazed upon Tsukiyomi, her small tailed form somehow roused a kindle of fear that should instead be replaced with love or care, her gaze of tired, burnt gold focused on me and I had to steel myself to keep up with that piercing, trampling glance.

I began, increasingly tempted to turn on my heel and simply go away right then and there and I saw a smile curl Tsukiyomi lisps as she crossed her arms on her chest and closed her airs, tails now sharply moving behind her with a few unplucking themselves form this crown to rub her shoulders as her fluffed ears flattened themselves on her head.; the scene made me wonder if she felt lonely.

Then she began trembling again, her limbs quaked softly in this unending ripple as she closed her eyes and turned her head, grimace turning in an angry snarl; her tails went to cocoon her profiles and face and she buried her hands in the furs, trying her best to hide her nervous shiver as tears trickled down her cheek during the few time she opened her eyes, only to close them again; she let out a long, low, worrying whistle, a «sssh» that left me dumbfounded and worried. Of course the waft of magic and corruption stayed, I even saw a bluish shape glowers in the middle of her chest, appearing through the heavy white fabric of her robe.

So I decided to look past this intimidation, stand my ground, swallow that fear and simply take a few steps toward her, realizing that actually trying to obey her wish might have been a mistake, perhaps a very grave one; Tsukiyomi didn’t budge when I closed the distance to sit beside her on that large bed, she simply craned her neck in the opposite direction and hid her face and body as best she could with her tails even if that didn’t obfuscate the tremble, I felt tempted to grasp one of those piece of fluff, if only to distract her.

There wasn’t any nasty comment, instead Tsukiyomi simply stood with this barrier of tails and for now, I intended to respect her wish.

‘’Haven’t I swore that you didn’t need to keep the weight of the world on your shoulders, Tsu?’’

She simply answered with a dim, breathless «yeah» as her body kept on quivering.

I had to hesitate there, for a moment another woman face came to mind and I chased away the image.

‘’…I’m going to hurt someone else’’

Minutes passed like that in silence; Tsukiyomi trembling lessened and finally stopped as she kept that barrier of fluff that, also, began moving tentatively, her fingers spread open the fluff and I saw her golden colored stare peek through the fur to gaze at me, eyes slightly reddened by the obvious tears that continuously trickled down her face. The gesture was so cute and childish hat I just had to smile.

‘’Stupidly stubborn’’

She whispered my way and I ran my hand along one of the tails that curly slightly on the touch, as if trying to lean onto my palm, she was still riding an obvious emotional high but I think my persistence was at least acknowledged, she definitely looked a little calmer.
Her fingers parting the furs withdrew, reforming the barrier as the tails swished very gently like stirring serpents still unwilling to budge, her voice came through with a slight hoarseness to its tone and Tsukiyomi stopped several time, clearing her throat and I simply sat and listened patiently, rubbing that carefully maintained fur that hadn’t gotten a speck of the basement dust.

‘’I’m scared, Siegfried. I’ve grown inadequate’’

Then, finally the confession came with no end of hesitation.

Tsu let out a long sigh while sneaking a few « I don’t know, I don’t know» of pure, breathless exhaustion.

‘’I feel like I’m playing in someone’s hands and its making me so…mad… I keep remembering Batrion every time I close my eyes and there’s Hadraniel too I don’t... kuuh!’’

Tsukiyomi breaking voice herald the inevitable, whatever she had to say next simply disappear in incoherence as she began to cry, the only hints being sounds and her slightly moving legs as her tails completely concealing her small body that was undoubtedly rocking in emotions.

I think… I can understand her attitude, or at least empathize and now I know – I just know- that’s she profoundly ashamed of showing this ‘’weakness’’. Part of me felt blessed of my ignorance of all the wasted efforts and lives during these incessant resets.

The dark blue covers gave the little queen-mother golden hairs a gorgeous backdrop and I sat beside her soundlessly as she kept on muttering further «sorry», instead of talking I simply wrapped my hands around her body and pulled her close, protest or not- she mounted a feeble resistance at first, trying to pull herself away with trembling arms and whipping tails but soon she simply burying her face in my chest and cried a waterfall and I silently stood, caressing the back of her neck, letting the minutes count wordlessly; Tsukiyomi really is one to bottle up everything.

She muttered, ears still flattened on her head as she closed her eyes, she was obviously fatigued - so was I, really- but she reopened her gaze to peer at me in a mixture of curiosity and gratitude while, for some reason, rubbing the middle of her chest.

Her voice was hoarse, there wasn’t any sign or hints of that imperiousness now, and she just looked like a small (fluffy) woman ready for bed and a small stir of affection clouded my eyes while I gaze at her silently for a little while before breaking the newfound silence.

I've been comparing this quest to what you'd get if you throw Blazblue, NGE, and the MGE into a blender with a fair bit of GG for spice (since we're also trying to prevent a Megadeath-Class Gear by the name of the Evil Mountain from reviving).

This has already been accepted, the point of discussion is how to safeguard the Jewel while we use it.

And putting the Jewel into Siegfried's body isn't a gamble, it's an assured way of having the Beast do something with it to Siegfried's personal detriment. Using its abilities to heal itself faster so that the Beast is in a better position to take over the body.
What we need is a way to keep the Jewel able to be accessed by Siegfried but not by the Beast, and safe while fighting Orion.
Aside from whatever information Tsu tells us, we should confer with Daiyu to see if the trick she used with her jade to hide it can be used by us on the Jewel.

Well I wanted to start the new thread on full-chan so I do want to take care of alot of things here because alot of prep to make, but I'm feeling a tad to oexhausted tonight. Tsukiyomi voice had turned into a sultry, sweet whisper as she craned her neck upward to nuzzle the bottom of my jaw with her lisps. Completely gone was the rough tension that made me fear for my life instead replaced by a sickeningly sweet little fluffed woman whose hand held a most precious jewel; she was quick to grab my limb and place it around her hovering palm, forcing some of my finger to brush that glistening star ball that felt strangely warm on my skin. Meanwhile, Tsu ears had regained some pep and her large fluffy tails began to swish with a little more energy, some of them rubbing themselves on my body as she made herself very comfortable by taking my legs and chest as makeshift seat; the tails made it a little struggle to actually keep my eyes on her.

‘’You understand… that I’m hesitant, right? After everything I’ve told you?’’

‘’Yes, I know’’

Still she insisted, putting my own fingers over that ball now and I squeezed reflexively, it was a small object yet undoubtedly precious and I plucked it away from her hand at last yet still held it close to her, I certainly didn’t feel worthy of… holding her life like this.

‘’Don’t worry, it’s my soul, a part me and I won’t allow myself to be toyed with, beside, it’ll help you…’’

Her voice smoothened itself to a whisper as she let out a breath, letting warm, humid air caress my cheek as I squeezed on the ball softly, yet still held it with hesitation.

‘’…by either putting it inside your body or keeping as an object of Focus to concentrate onto, my powers – a full third of it- will be yours.’’

The implications alone made me stiffen and Tsukiyomi tried her best to soothe my worries with a light laugh and a few tails rub while one peculiar appendage went to pat my back, she moved slightly, now rubbing one of her fluffed ear on my chin yet seem to abandon her efforts to stay comfortable; happy or not I had to oblige.

Meanwhile Tsu erupted in another sweet chuckle that only managed to make me feel even more pressured and afraid; this woman is a sadist.

‘’Don’t worry, they like you; Orion has made things personal now, but they’ll listen to you and me all the same, they are my comrades and friends but they aren’t my slaves, either; that’s why there’s no seals of command or geas, not only would they break out but there’s no need for that when you call upon compatriots, right?’’

I don’t think they’ll see it that clearly, I –did- make Tsu cry on several occasion throughout this relationship of ours and if Batrion attitude was any hint, they’re probably over protective of this small queen-mother…

‘’For tonight let’s not burden ourselves, Siggy.’’

Tsukiyomi hand slithered along my hand and closed it around the jewel as she softly turned around, making the tails rub all over my body as she took place back on my chest, this time fully facing me; having successfully forced me to grasp that Hoshi-no-Tama, her hands began to caress the length of my chest as her golden eyes were half-closed, perhaps in a mixture of thoughts and fatigue.

‘’Just… thank you for being here, thank you for staying alive’’

‘’Hadraniel is the one…’’

‘’I know.’’

Again she interrupted me but I didn’t felt irritated, she simply kissed me into silence with a brief little peck as her ears drooped ever so slightly.

‘’I won’t let my precious angelic friend linger like this and neither would my comrades, one friend and father was more than enough of a loss for all of us- she's family to us all even if she has a hard time seeing it.’’

I wonder how she communicate with them, although all such ideas were quickly overshadowed when Tsukiyomi gave me another kiss (she taste sweet) but again she broke contact when I reached forward to depend it, making my tongue linger in the air for a second which elicited yet another laugh from the blond.

She leaned forward again, silencing my protest (which was a worried laughter) in another kiss, this time deepening it with a brief tongue wrestles which told the passion she kept in check; not even two seconds in and I could hear the wet smacks resonating from out brief struggle of dominance that didn’t end in anything conclusive as she pulled away once more, deliberately making the following «smack» as loud as possible as she visibly licked her lisps; now drenched in our saliva as she wormed herself upward on my body to stand a little taller.

‘’I’m not letting you get away tonight, Siggy’’

Not that I would. Her gem was a warm and comfortable in my hand as I looked upward to gaze at this adorable, passionate, proud and much, much too pragmatic queen-mother, she was smiling and blushing, her tails were swishing, moving and dancing, giving the illusion that her profile was much bigger than it truly was; a woman she is, a woman she’ll always be, I know she’s been supported the weight of this entire nation (perhaps even the world, alongside Mother Earth) – for this evening at least, all of that isn’t going to mean anything.

Most likely make a new thread but more than that I've got quite a bit of prep to finish. I need to make a sheet for everyone able to fight and one for hte heroes as well since you can summon them, so next thread might come perhaps the week after next one, just keep looking at my twitter around the week-end, that's when I announce the time for my threads.

Any alternate uses? She said a full third of her power, which implies a full third of all of her powers. So, can we tap into a third of her immense mana pool for our own magecraft? Beast just might find itself going toe to toe with heroes if you put it inside your body. But mostly, the jewel is about summoning because it's the crux of Tsukiyomi power, she's a summoner through and through with a side specialization in mind-related magic.

Ame is more offensive but also share that summoning talent thank to Tsu instructions. You might be able to tap into her and your mana if you synch good enough with the jewel, thereby making all spell cost shared by the both of you - with the exception of Soul Blas, those are made only by Siggy.

Heroes in the soul world has absolutely no cost at all for all nine of them at once. Problem is, Soul World powerlevel is extremely fluctuating, emotion based and very depended on the anchor, meaning that Siegfried and the Beast outclass Orion when they clash in their souls, so the heroes will struggle very, very much whe ntrying to fight the beast. Radiance and Hadraniel are about the only ones that could put up a very good fight due to the fact they are angels.

We'd also feel if he was up to something and thus have a bit of a warning when he's close right?

Ok. Can't get into all of the lore for them as that'd take forever, but I compare this quest to them for good reason in my book.

You should watch Xrd's story mode on youtube. I've already referenced a scene I'd like to go down mood wise with Orion. You'll know it when you see it, the song I posted a bit ago (Storyteller) plays during it. Need a bit more knowledge to get everything, but that too is up on that site. Just search for the story modes of GG-Overture and you'll be able to understand what's happening in Xrd's story. Same for Blazblue.

The settings of either have damn near everything stacked against the protagonists. In GG you're up against the "Universal Will", in BB you're up against Hades Izanami i.e. the avatar of *death* for god's sake. Also, the Illuminati are a thing (The Imperator for BB and the Conclave for GG) and many of the characters are a thorn in their side. They pretty much run the world, and you're fighting against them.

Sounds hopeless yes? Well no, they really work hard to convey that everything can still turn out good if you play your cards right. Much like here, you're out for suffering, but you're not unfair about it. We get punished when we get dumb. When we get smart, we get rewarded pretty well. The Ahriman arc sold me on this about you. He shadowrunned hard, but we did it harder in a way, and won in most respects because of it. Hope the trend continues.
