MY ASS, IT HUNGERS

FINALLY, IT CRAVES FOR MORE

IT ATE MY HAND
>>
>Mass Effect Quest 3

God damn it now I have to go dig into the archives for part 2

You're an animal, Wulin
>>
>>37071211

It's dark in space.
You know it of course; you're taught it since childhood. Light from individual stars is too far to reach most parts of the universe to truly brighten things, and even moonlight is a luxury on many worlds, with only the pinpricks of light of distant stars to truly brighten what is otherwise the most perfect blackness there is in nature.

To know it logically is one thing, but to stand in it, only a thin layer of ceramics and carbide plates and sandwiched sheer-thickening foam between them surrounded by a mass effect field of kinetic barriers between you an the absoluteness of it all is different then the knowing of it as a fact.

You don't take the time to admire the view.

"On the Anubis," you say into the commlink of your helmet. "Breach Team, status?"

There's a pause before you hear an answer.
"Infil-1, this is Breach. They can't see much of us from jamming from the Hammerhead and the signals interference the main ship is causing, but in a second they'll-"

He pauses.

"They just pinged us with lidar. They know we're here."

"No worries Breach, all part of the plan. If it looks like they'll negotiate, go for it; talking takes up more time then shooting does and keeps them tense but looking for YOU to do something. Infil-2, how's it look?"

Aeson chimes in faster without the jamming of the Hammerhead interfering.
"I'm solid. Heading towards starboard maintance hatch. No contacts yet but they might get paranoid and start checking the hull."

"Good. Radio in if anything changes," you say, hefting out your M-55 shotgun from the plate on back of your hip.

>WDYD?

>Head towards the bow, where the bridge should he.

>Head towards the aft, where the engines and reactor are.
>>
Thanks Wulin, you got me replaying both Mass Effect and Ace Combat 5. At least I am on break right now.
>>
>>37071726

they always keep shit there.

Sorry, is there something in there I should be apologizing for, because I see nothing wrong with it any of that!
>>
>>37071726

Come on guys, we were given the exact orders to storm the bridge and secure it so that we could support the boarding team.

Both are solid options BTW; original plan is the bridge, but nothing on the plan hinges on you being there as you have no idea where the hostages actually are, and you're a radio call away from telling the others.
>>
>>37071696
That's me.
Such a sadist.
>>
>>37071726
>>Head towards the aft, where the engines and reactor are.
Get some more intel, see if we can't hack into their system and provide us with an advantage for when we eventually hit the bridge
>>
can we pull a koolaid man?
>>
>>37071890 here changing to
>Head towards the aft, where the engines and reactor are.
lets get some info and maybe wreck some precise havoc
>>
>>37072189
No, the starship hull is too thick.
There's a reason they use disruptor torpedoes, high-powered lasers and mass drivers over a hundred meters long on ships.
>>
>>37072237
Also, blowing a person-sized hole in the hull would result in decompression, which would suck for everyone not wearing suits.
>>
hold on, almost home.
>>
>>37071726

"Heading towards the engine room access," you say into the radio. "It's closer, probably less well-defended."

You slowly move across the top of the hull, keeping your Crusader pointed forward. You click the side and activate the biotic unit that lets you turn on Warp Ammo via channeling your mass effect field around the individual shots. Plays havoc with shields and barriers.

As you pass over one of the rib-like support struts for the outer hall, your HUD picks up movement, and you spot coming out of the engine room access hatch a soldier in a hardsuit with an assault rifle!

You mentally swear; with your boots magnetically attached to the outside of the hull you don't dare Charge; if you miss you'll go flying off into space, and even if you hit the recoil will send you flying off in the opposite direction without atmosphere to help you use mass effect fields to bleed off the inertia!

>WDYD?

>Take the shot!

>Hide and wait for him to either pass by or go back inside!

"Hold up....enemy contact," you say, not whispering. It's not really necessary in a vacuum.

You hug the nearest cover, watching for his movement on your HUD radar. He seems to hover around the area of the hatch before heading back inside a tense minute and a half later.

"Looks like Blue Suns. Saw the armor markings," you say, pausing for another second before advancing cautiously.

It's Captain Garm's voice who responds this time.

"That makes sense. Normally at the distance the Hammerhead is at we would be getting IFF readings from their craft and signals from inside the ship, but we appear to be unable to achieve radar lock nor any internal signals within the Anubis. Given the technical proficiency of the Blue Suns it's likely that their craft has sophisticated jamming technology, making anything other then lidar or IR identification difficult."

You nod; stealth is of course impossible in space what with heat and power emissions, but while lidar and thermals tell you WHERE a craft is they don't do much for shape or details except at extremely close distances, and from serious distances in space there's a significant light lag and just a general "there's a thing here" blip on your IR or thermals. When combined with radar and other signals detection you can get better details, but an ECM suite can make radar look "fuzzy" when trying to ID the craft, especially if you scramble the IFF to make it look like another ship.

"Just like covering up a license plate on a car being used to commit a crime," you mutter.
>>
>>37073227

"Fuck," you mutter, putting away your shotgun and taking out your M-11, and activating warp ammunition field.

The Blue Suns soldier is coming closer, and you just have to hope your lack of movement and the radar-absorbing properties of your armor don't set off his radar.

You take up a firing position as the red dot approaches closer, and you mentally hope he doesn't have reinforced shields or something.

Soon he crosses into your view, and you wait until his head and shoulders are exposed and he briefly sees you.

There's a silent thud in the vaccume you feel as vibrations through your hands as you pull the trigger twice.

Two 5mm massdriver slugs covered in a biotic phasic envelope punch through his shields and helmet, just above his right eye and mushroom inside his skull, impacting against the other side of his helmet without exiting.

He lists as red globules of blood float into space through the holes and his magnetically attached feet keep him from floating away.

You exhale.
>>
>>37073485

"Boom," you say. "Headshot."

"Pardon?" Aeson says.

"Nothing," you say with a smile and move past the weirdly standing corpse, heading for the access hatch.

You activate your omnitool and place it against the lock, activating it's intrusion routines.

"Dammit....," you mutter.
There's some kind of encryption software you can't break...you suppose you could SHOOT the door lock off, especially at this range, even force it open with biotics...

>WDYD?

>Force the door.

>>

No, Carnage was removed from their power set as of ME2.
>>
>>37073848
wasn't there a symbiote called Mayhem?
>>
>>37073926
Yes, actually, in MC2.
A clone of May Parker who was some kind of symbiote-hybrid person.
>>
>>37073988
Was she insane and a absolute bitch to Peter?
>>
>>37074003
Given she was both a Spidey-clone (who with one notable exception tend to be unstable) AND May's version of Carnage, I should say "yes".
>>
>>37074047
Did they ever show Aunt May young or was she just in the suit the entire time?
Was she attractive?
Would you hit it?
>>
>>37074076
Yes they did, and she looked basically like May (she went by "April Parker") herself did with longer hair, and no I wouldn't because she was kinda drawn consistently not well.

Now Mayday on the other hand...that I would tap.
>>
>>37074134
who the fuck is Mayday?
>>
>>37074187
May "Mayday" Parker, daughter of Mary Jane Parker and Peter Parker in the MC2 tineline, The Spectacular Spider-Girl.
>>
>>37074218
huh ok. cool.
>>
>>37073596

You knock twice on the hatch, facing it upside down and pointing your pistol at the door.

It opens and another Blue Suns guard pops his head out, and you proceed to pop his head OFF as soon as you see it.

"I can't believe that worked," you mutter as you walk around the hatch (which is "below" you from your POV) so you're facing the proper direction once you head inside and close the airlock.
>>
>>37074218

Yup. Usually she was drawn with classic MJ's face (including pouty lips) but with a slightly lighter shade of brown her like her dad, which she mostly kept short.
>>
>>37074330
I'm all good for keeping up the Solid Snake routine.
>>
>>37074392
was her character any good?
How was her arc?
Is Miles a good Spider Man?
>>
>>37074426
Yes, very, and she was basically Ultimate Peter Parker years before Ultimate Spider-Man was created. Peter briefly playing baketball once he got his powers is a direct reference to her, same artist even drew her comic for year, Bagely.

Her arc was excellent.

Maybe once he finishes developing as a character, which probably won't be until 2025 since modern comics are so decompressed that developing a character arc is like watching a snail take shit in a time displacement bubble that is 1 day/10 years of
difference, and Bendis is a particularly bad offender without proper editorial supervision which he hasn't had in a very long time now.
>>
>>37074537
I alwaysed wondered what would happen if Peter went evil. Or at least worked more for his own devices than helping others.

Like how good would he be at it?
How surprised would people be?
How fast would JJ have a heart attack from being proven right?
>>
>>37074630
superior spider man is what your looking for thought it actually doc ock in peters body but still a good read.
>>
>>37074695
hm thanks.

Anybody here know why Spider Man is so big in japan? Bro got a mecha.
>>
>>37074304

You keep your gun up as the primary airlock door to the engine room opens and keep low.

You emerge on a walkway overlooking the engine room, where five individuals in Blue Suns armor stand around a huddle of people in the middle of the room, all five armed with M-15 Vindicator battle rifles, a weapon originally developed for the Suns in the first place.

The upper catwalk appears to be empty right now and circles the long rectangle of the room, which has the ship's eezo core near the far right and various monitoring consoles around it.

Five to one, hostages, shielded enemies with high-powered rifles....bad odds.
>>
>>37074723
Turn the tables. Head to the engine room, lock yourself in, and demand surrender. Or you'll detonate the core.
>>
>>37074630
Honestly if removed from plot devices ultimately Spidey wouldn't be a "big bad" supervillain; he simply lacks the material or financial resources to be an evil mastermind type.

On the other hand he'd probably be the most alarmingly efficient "goon" villain of all time. Combine Shocker's practicality and ruthlessness with Spidey's powers and Taskmaster's tactical mindset and you have a good picture.
>>37074695
I'm going to have to disagree and say it's an "average" read.

It takes a years worth of comics and crossovers to tell a story you could do in 2 issues 20 years ago.

They may SAY it's a big impressive thing, but making a big deal out of something and then decompressing the hell out of it and calling it genius isn't good writing; it's just stalling for a year.
>>37074717
Probably the similarities with Kamen Rider; relatively low-powered bug themed-hero, etc.
>>
>>37074785
how about we don't do something retarded when they don't even know we're here or have been presented with a choice yet
