You are Ur'shal, chieftain of the Stonetusk Clan, though right now you don't know where your clan is. Once again you find yourself in a strange, unknown world, though this one has a far less familiar and pleasant feel to it than your previous vision of the orcish gods.

After pacing an endless rocky desert of sharp stones and thick red mist, leaving a bloody trail behind you from your shredded feet, you have come across another orc. A scrawny, wild-eyed thing covered in scars, bruises and the signs of malnutrition. After seeing him kill and start to devour one of the degenerate scuttling orc-things, you approached him to see if you could learn more about your situation. So far he has proven friendly, if a little twitchy, but you are still wondering if you made a bad decision in revealing yourself.

You watch the grizzly scene as the bony orc tears into the flesh of the creature. After gulping down a chunk of bloody flesh, he looks up at you, giving you a twitchy grin.

“Oh, yes. Almost forgot, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Za'zarag, priest of Mul'orog Grul and advisor to Krag'ur, chieftain of the Tongueripper Clan.”

Golem Knight Quest some time in the coming week, as I said at the end of the previous thread. I've been working on trying to tighten up and overhaul the system in the meantime.

Question to ask Za'zarag:
>How and why did he end up as priest of Mul'orog Grul?
>What can he tell us of Mul'orog Grul.
>What has his clan been doing?
>What we've heard of his clan's activity has been some very bad things.
>How many members does his clan have?
>What is the chief like, what are their goals?
>What is this place exactly?
>Does he remember much from before/after the exile?
Then if it seems like he's somewhat reasonable we can start telling him that we know he doesn't want bad things, and that it isn't what he intended, but this isn't the real world, and we need his help to stop what has been going on in the real world.

You shake your head.

“No, I ate not long ago, you look like you need this one more than me.”

Za'zarag frowns. “Got to grab whatever you can to eat here.”

You look down at the creature as he carves out another chunk, its dead eyes still bulging malevolently in its strained features.

“What is it?”

“Don't know, back when we first came to the wastes there wasn't anything like this. Now they're everywhere.”

It seems Za'zarag, if that is who this is, is under the impression that he's still in the wastes, wherever you are, it's obviously damaged the orc's mind, or perhaps the abyssal magic did that.

“Your clan, where is it?”

Za'zarag gives you a blank stare. “What are you talking about?”

“Your clan, you said you are a Tongueripper, priest and advisor to the Tongueripper chieftain, right?”

“Of course.”

“So where are your clan? What are they doing? Where's the chieftain?”

Za'zarag frowns, eyes unblinking as he chews on some more of the meat. “They're around, somewhere, I think. I'm sure I saw them not long ago. They'll turn up.”

>>
>>37139408
“It can't be easy to lose a clan that big.”

Za'zarag cocks his head, looking confused. “We're not that big, just thirty of us, but we will be, soon. Krag'ur is strong, Mul'orog Grul will make us stronger. Maybe you should join us, Stonetusk chieftain, Krag'ur could use more powerful warriors to help him when we reunite the clans.”

Talking to Za'zarag makes you more and more confused, and the cloying mist is starting to make you lightheaded, you shake your head, growling.

“No, your clan is large, I've heard about it... Wait, how much do you remember, about the fall of the orcish kingdom? The exile? The time in the wastes?”

Za'zarag stands, scratching behind his ear, staring into the middle distance.

“We found a good spot, somewhere new to set up our camp, good hunting, far away from the humans where we could gather our strength. Krag'ur was growing stronger every day with Mul'orog Grul's blessings, the clan too, but wait... didn't I... No... I think that was...”

Za'zarag gives a hoarse roar, slapping a palm against his forehead repeatedly.

“Shut up, no more questions, what does it matter,” he howls, pointing his blade at you.

You growl, lashing out quickly to grab hold of Za'zarag's arm, twisting it and bringing him to the ground, his blade clattering to the rocky ground out of reach.

The scrawny orc howls and thrashes in your grasp, blood seeping into the sharp rocks as they cut at his skin. You strike him in the jaw sharply, dazing him as you shift your other arm into place to pin him down until his tantrum is done.

“Something's messing with your memories, the Tonguerippers are no tiny clan, they are large and dangerous, corrupted by abyssal magic. Your clan has not united our people, they slaughter and devour orc men, women and children in their madness, your clan would destroy us all.”

“Lies, we are making the clan strong, we are making our people strong. Mul'orog Grul will bring us power, Mul'orog Grul will not abandon us when we need him, as the other gods did.”

“Mul'orog Grul is no god, he's an Abyssal Lord, he doesn't care about you or your clan, he has turned them into abominations. Look around you, this isn't the wastes, when was the last time you even saw your clan?”

“I don't... I don't know... I don't know, shut up, shut up, stop talking or he'll hear us,” Za'zarag screams, his voice echoing across the desolate landscape.

“Then stop shouting,” you snarl, clamping a hand over his mouth. The skinny orc scrabbles against your grip, but is nowhere near strong enough to break free.

After a few moments he calms, no longer trying to escape, though his eyes still dart from side to side, his bony chest rising and falling in a ragged rhythm.

You pull the hand away, ready to knock the lunatic out should he start screaming again, but he stays silent.

“Now come on, I don't like it down here, we'll talk up there,” you grunt, pointing to the rocky outcropping nearby.

Za'zarag nods mutely, climbing to his feet as you release him, seemingly unconcerned by the patchwork of lacerations the sharp rocks have left across his hide.

You spend some time picking your way up the rocks, surprised at how agile the other orc is despite his weakened condition. He sits when you reach the top, staring out across the thinner mist.

You stand next to him, scanning the horizon, looking out for anything dangerous, but all you see is more of the strange and malformed orc things skittering about.

“Who are you afraid of? Who will hear us?” you ask at last, breaking the silence.

“It wasn't always like this. Stupid mist, stupid creatures, nothing but rocks, rocks, rocks. I had so much more in the orcish kingdom. I had power and respect and slaves, Orcs would come to me to hear of Zul'orok Zhar's teachings. I would forge mighty blades and strong armor for our warriors, I would hunt and kill the sorcerers and unnatural things of our enemies. Then one day, Zul'orok Zhar just stopped speaking to me. I prayed and sacrificed and killed and forged in his name, but nothing... just nothing.”

(cont)
>>
>>37140606
“So you turned to Mul'orog Grul? How could a priest of the Iron God turn to the Abyss?”

“I did not go looking for him. He came to me, I prayed long into the night for the Iron God to send me a sign, but it was not Zul'orok Zhar to answered, it was something else. A servant of Mul'orog Grul. It gave me the power that let my clan tear through the dwarven lines, make for the wastes a step ahead of our enemies. It taught me Mul'orog Grul's magic, it guided me, told me how to make the clan strong. But it doesn't listen any more, it got too big, too unruly, it's out there somewhere now, waiting to steal more from me.”

Za'zarag gives you a haunted look. “Why do the gods keep abandoning me, Ur'shal? I did all they wanted, but in the end all of them toss me aside when I need their strength most.”

“We are orcs, our gods are strong and cunning and cruel.

They will not favor those who run, should that be from a fight, their favor, or to the dark of the abyss, what you take for abandonment is nothing more than a challenge to come back when we are worthy of being followers again.” you growl.

Za'zarag gives a hollow laugh. “I don't think I'm much of a priest, or much of an orc. I could kill and hunt well, but when the Iron God asked me to prove myself, I failed him.”

Za'zarag stands, staring out across the rocky expanse. “You do not belong here, Ur'shal, you should return to your clan.”

“So how do I leave?”

“It controls this place, not me. If you travel far away enough from it, you should go beyond the borders of its domain... Or you could... no, nevermind.”

Za'zarag points out into the distance. “You go that way, I will go the opposite way, draw it away from you. Move quickly, Ur'shal.”

“Then we could break free of this place?”

Za'zarag nods slowly. “I think so. If it does not devour us.”

“Will you fight it with me, Za'zarag?” you ask, watching the skinny orc as he nervously scratches at his arm.

“I... I fear it, Ur'shal. I am weak. I cannot promise that when I face the thing I will not run, but I will try.”

“So how do we lure it out?”

“You just have to say its name, and it will hear. Are you sure you want to do this, Ur'shal? If it kills you here, it will take your soul. You will be lost to the abyss forever.”

“I will not run from this,” you growl.

“Ur'shal. You are the enemy of my clan, aren't you?”

“I am.”

“When you meet Krag'ur on the battlefield. If he still has the wits to hear. Tell him I'm sorry. Grant him a warrior's death.”

>>
>>37141589
oops.

Well consider that he ambushed the orcthing earlier he wouldn't be turned away by it.

>>37141620
Ur'shal doesn't know how to build or use a sling and that would take to long anyway.
>>
>>37141471
>Find cover and ambush

Beyond that, I support the idea to wrap the improvised weapon in skin for better grip and to avoid cutting ourselves.

Also, we should keep in mind the chance for Za'zarag to flee, as he himself warns, or even turn on Ur should the Abyssal creature overcome his will - as apparently happened in the real world. Don't expose our back to him if possible, and don't rely on his aid too heavily.
>>
>>37141620
I doubt we'll have time to use a sling, anon, I think we'll pretty much jump right into melee for our life right as it appears, that seem the most sensible, we don't know how things work here but what require the lease amount of assumptions is to think he won't know everything right as he appears, so he will have an opening.
Also, maybe have Za'zagar in the open when he says the name, while we hide, so the thing can't see us both and one of us WILL get an opening?
>>
Ambush it is.

Sadly untanned orcish skin does not make the best sling, so while you can use a strip of it to cover the sharp stone to make gripping it less painful, you cannot make a ranged weapon from it.

>>
>>37141647
He wouldn't be turned away from the idea of ambushing something, sure, but what if he knows that this thing can't be ambushed like we want to?

>>
“I will hide in amongst the shell, when you call it up try to draw it towards me so I can ambush it.”

Za'zarag does not look happy to hear that you will not be standing with him when it appears, but he nods all the same.

“Za'zarag. As long as an orc lives he can fight, and as long as he fights he can win. This thing has not killed you yet, and that means you can still make it suffer for underestimating our kind.”

“Get into cover, and I'll speak its name,” Za'zarag mutters, scratching nervously.

You nod, picking out a good uneven piece of the fossilized shell to crouch down and hide in.

You spy Za'zarag take a deep breath, steeling himself.

“Lorsyth. Where are you?”

You blink, and when you open your eyes something new stands before Za'zarag, the priest visibly shrinking back under its stare.

It is large as a troll, and reminds you of some twisted combination of cockroach and orc, green flesh giving way to black armored plates, the exposed flesh pulsing with thick red veins. Great growths of red mushrooms and fungus sprout from the tarnished grey-black hide, its antenna twitch in the air as two pairs of pale, bloodshot eyes fix on Za'zarag.

“Za'zarag,” it hisses, taking a step forward.

“I need more Za'zarag. I'm hungry. Give me more,” the things sibilant whispers set your teeth on edge, sending a crawling sensation down your spine like worms beneath your flesh.

Za'zarag looks terrified, visibly shaking as the thing looms over him. It is still too far away to ambush now, if you come out it will spot you in a second. You can only hope that Za'zarag remembers the plan.

Za'zarag swallows, stepping back slowly towards your hiding spot.

“Of course, Lorsyth. You've done so much for me. Made me strong. How ungrateful would I be not to feed you when you are hungry,” he says quietly, eyes fixed on the horror.

“Yes. Hungry. I'm hungry,” the thing hisses, following Za'zarag as he backs past your hiding place, leaving its back exposed.

You slip quietly from your hiding place, sharpened rock clutched tightly, strip of flesh from the mangled orc-thing keeping it from gouging any deeper into your hand. As the thing starts to rear up over Za'zarag, you strike, coming in low and driving the rock into the softer flesh of the horror's underbelly.

The thing screeches, and you wince at the agonizing sound, it whips round to face you, the skin peeling away from the orcish face as it's head opens out into a gaping maw of sharp teeth and lashing, barbed tongues.

“Do not belong here. Invader. Traitor. Who are you? Eat you, kill you.”

With a howl, Za'zarag lunges at the thing, hacking at its back leg with his blade, the thing skittering away with an enraged shriek as the blade hacks into the joint, near severing the leg entirely.

Its barbed tongues lash wildly, the veins under its skin pulsing as the fungal growths on its back start to shudder and writhe slowly.

“By Zul'orok Zhar's Forge, I command you BEGONE, ABOMINATION!” you roar, lunging at the creature with the sharpened rock.

It hisses, tongues thrashing wildly as it surges forward, knocking aside Za'zarag with a leg as he tries to take another swing.

It is upon you too fast to dodge, but you drive the rock into its neck as the creature crashes down on you. Your muscles strain as you push against the bulk of its abdomen with your free hand, trying to keep it out of reach of your face with its lashing tongues, twisting the rock in its thick neck muscles.

You feel your arms starting to give under the force, you need to do something quickly if you want to escape. You see Za'zarag starting to rise, his arm hanging at a twisted angle where the creature struck him, the scrawny priest hacking and coughing as he staggers to his feet. You growl, grinding the rock into the creature's neck, your arms start to buckle as it pushes closer, a barbed tongue slicing a ragged tear through your cheek, its four malevolent eyes locked on you. You twist the rock harder and the creature shrieks, a spurt of blood spraying from the neck as its weight leaves you, skittering back out of your reach quickly as you jump to your feet.

Your face stings from the cut, and you are starting to feel a little dizzy, but you keep your footing as the thing twitches its antenna, the fungus on its back starting to split, releasing a hazy cloud of dark red spores, deeper in color than the mist surrounding you.

You see Za'zarag is back on his feet, clutching the blade loosely in one hand, his other arm hanging at his side, obviously broken from the impact. He glances at you nervously as he circles round the creature.

You charge forwards, the stinging of your shredded feet helping you to focus even as the poison dulls your senses.

You roar, calling out Zul'orok Zhar's name as the creature lunges forwards to meet you. You duck under a massive leg as it tries to knock you down, gritting your teeth as the tongues start to dig into your flesh as you bring the rock up under its abdomen, gouging through the soft flesh.

As you tear into it it rears up, tongues thrashing wildly in its gaping maw, ready to crash down on you, when you hear another cry. Za'zarag lunges at the thing, hacking into its injured back leg again, taking it out from under the horror, which loses its balance, crashing to the ground, its belly exposed.

The two of you set upon it as it lies there, struggling to right itself, keeping your mouth closed against the growing cloud of spores. You drive your rock into its belly again and again, Za'zarag's blade hacking at another of its legs.

Then with a strange crack of displaced air, you blink and the thing is gone, one last malevolent hiss drifting across the misty expanse.

“It's gone, we drove it off. I didn't think we could do it,” Za'zarag laughs, a delirious edge to his voice as he shakes from the adrenaline.

“Told you we could. So that's it? We can escape?” you ask, looking to Za'zarag as the orc grins.

His smile falters a little as your vision starts to whiten, the mist growing stronger, the sounds of Za'zarag's breathing growing fainter with every second.

“It's too late for me, Ur'shal. The abyss already has my soul, there's no coming back from that. Promise me, promise me you will put my clan to rest. They have suffered too much for my weakness already.”

You reach out through the mist, clapping a hand on the shoulder of the hazy figure before you.

“I swear it, Za'zarag. You fought like at true orc today, and I won't forget that.”

“Thank you Ur'shal. It is a shame I will not live to see the glory you will bring our people.”

You awaken with a gasp in your tent, to the sight of Ku'zag's withered face looming over you.

“Still alive, Ur'shal. Good. The whining of your mates and slave women was starting to grate on my nerves,” he grumbles, though you see a hint of relief in the old shaman's face.

You struggle to stand as Ku'zag backs away, revealing a crowd gathered in your tent.

K'zala and Sho'ka cluster around you, and you see Ashuris standing nearby, a hint of emotion on her face before her proud mask slips back into place and she looks away. Aleida and Inka watch curiously from the far side of the tent, avoiding the gathered group.

You rub a hand over your face, wincing as your fingers brush over the torn flesh on your cheek. Apparently the wounds in the dream carry over to the mortal realm just fine.

“What happened?” Sho'ka asks, looking worried.

“Later. Right now, I think the chieftain has a bigger problem,” Ku'zag grunts.

“What is it?” you ask, gathering up your armor, dressing yourself.

“Ya'zada stormed out of here a little while ago. Said something about Goatfoot trickery. I sent Zo'rok and Dru'ak after her, but who knows if she'll listen to them,” Ku'zag explains.

You make to leave the tent, stumbling slightly, you still feel dizzy, perhaps from just waking up, though if your wounds transferred to the mortal realm, perhaps the poison did too.

You drove it off, as Za'zarag explained to you before the fight, there was no way to kill it in its own realm. At least not without some high level sorcerous or divine bullshit assisting you.

Za'zarag's soul is still in its realm, he lied about both of you being freed by weakening it.

As for whether you get a boon for it, guess you'' have to wait and see.

It's still to much of a risk. We're even in numbers and they have superior fighters.

We need to get those two smaller clans, then the skyhunters. Then train and see if we can scout them out.

Do a little more raiding, maybe one or two in the jungle, one or two in the mountains.

Then scout the mountians more looks for ogre covens/slaves and anything else that might give us power.
>>
>>37144904
Damn it.
>>
I realize we're probably gonna do some public display of dominance by making Ya'zada apologize, but like, even if not right when we see her, at least when we get back to our tent, we really need to hug her and hold her head to our shoulder, tell her we won't leave her/disappear.
She obviously has some issues about that.
Maybe.
Or maybe I'm looking too far into it and she just got normal angry.
>>
>>37144949
I feel like Ogres will be the perfect counter to these guys.

If we just lead with some Ogre shock troopers decked out in armor with weapons they would rip through the toungeripper lines. Especially since in their battle haze they have no sense of restraint, they would do Massive damage before they die. And since we give no shits about them being alive it would be great.
>>
post yfw Juk'ruk made a deal with Tonguerippers and transported us there.
>>
>>37144949
The reason I'm thinking of going after them now/in a couple days is because, as Lordy has said, there's no guarantee that they won't come after us instead, especially if we take the two small clans to the south.
I think the element of surprise would give them too much of an advantage.
BUT, if we get Iron bro's blessing, and we could start making some wards from his shit, then that could even the playing field.
>>
>>37144975
Well seeing as her last mate was killed by one of the Goatfoot clans, Im pretty sure she would be protective of her new mate and immediately suspect the goatfoots since they are right here.
>>
>>37144949
>Then scout the mountians more looks for ogre covens/slaves and anything else that might give us power.
There was the vassal idea. Its considered a bit wierd, but its really just an extention of making slaves who are proven tough honorary orcs. Just with a group, not a single person.

>>
>>37145132
Nah mate, only if they do some really impressive shit.
Something approaching the importance of that one elf dude Lordy talked about.
>>
You growl, you are not in the mood for this. Your mates step aside as you grab your axe and step out of the tent, hopefully you won't need to use it.

It doesn't take much to figure out where the problem is, you can hear the shouting from here. It's coming from the north side of the camp, where the Goatfoots are staying.

You shake off the growing fog in your head as you stomp over there, orcs hurriedly making space for you as they see the look on your face.

You find a scene on the edge of violence. Ya'zada and a group of her former stormhowler comrades are clustered near to the goatfoot camp, brandishing weapons and shouting. In the goatfoot camp a group of the dour warriors have gathered together to meet them, weapons at the ready, Or'kug glaring at the howling warriors.

Thankfully, between the two groups stands Zo'rok and Dru'ak, with a group of your larger clanmates.

“First one of you stupid fucks to cross this line gets gutted, I swear,” Zo'rok yells, pointing his curved sword at the stormhowlers as Dru'ak keeps his attention on the quieter but no less aggressive-looking goatfoots.

“The goatfoots poisoned your chieftain, Zo'rok. Your friend. Why defend them. We should make them pay together.”

“Stormhowler lies, you'd look for any excuse, wouldn't you. It was you who was in the chieftain's tent last night, not one of our women.” Or'kug snaps back.

You grind your teeth in frustration, you are tired, irritable, and your face hurts, you do not need this.

“ENOUGH OF THIS SHIT,” you roar.

The shouting orcs quickly go quiet. The stormhowlers and goatfoots turning to face you, neither group looking all that happy to be facing down their enraged chieftain.

“NONE OF YOU POISONED ME. CAN'T I LEAVE YOU STUPID FUCKS ALONE FOR ONE NIGHT WITHOUT YOU TRYING TO KILL EACH OTHER?” you bellow.

“Ur. I thought you were dying, I thought they'd done something to you,” Ya'zada gasps, pushing through her group of former clanmates as she rushes to meet you.

So what now, Ur'shal. You need to address this issue.

“Ya'zada,” you growl, your new mate faltering in her approach.

“The goatfoots used poison on my clanmates many times in our war. They poisoned food, water, smeared it on traps. How could I think it was a coincidence when you fell sick right after they joined your clan,” she explains, at least having the decency to look a little sheepish.

“It was no poisoning. It was bad magic, not from either of your clans, from the Tonguerippers and the Horror controlling them. I fought the creature in its realm, and I survived. That is all.”

“Typical, the stormhowler blames us before even bothering to check for magic,” Or'kug snorts.

You growl again, pointing a finger at Or'kug. “You are not a goatfoot.” You sweep the finger across to Ya'zada. “...and you are not a stormhowler.”

“All of you are Stonetusks now. Ya'zada, you were about to spill the blood of your own clanmates. I do not ask that you like each other, but you WILL respect my commands as your chieftain, and I commanded the two of you not to fight.”

Ya'zada's head lowers. “I'm sorry, Ur, I wasn't thinking clearly.”

“It's not me you have to apologize to,” you snarl.

Her eye goes wide, looking over at Or'kug. You can hear her teeth grinding at the very thought of apologizing to the former goatfoots.

“Ya'zada, I won't tell you again,” you growl.

Ya'zada looks ready to snap, but swallows it back, giving you a bitter look before turning to the former goatfoots.

“I apologize for my behavior. It wasn't right of me to pick a fight with my... clanmates. It won't happen again.”

She looks like she just chewed on a stingworm, but she looks at you hopefully all the same.

“Good, we will be a stronger clan with all of you fighting together, not against each other,” you nod.

“Zo'rok, tell the others, I want to see all of you in my tent later. That includes the four of you,” you say, Zo'rok nodding.

With that you turn away, heading back to your tent so Ku'zag can take a look at you, Ya'zada following along behind you in silence.

You step back into the tent, Ku'zag grinding up some foul-smelling paste in a bowl in preparation.

“Sit down, Ur'shal. This should take the edge off it while I deal with that poison.”

You sit down, sighing. It's barely morning and you feel half-dead, you've got a long day ahead of you.

Ag'zal had given up trying to force open the cage days ago. It looked flimsy, made of bone and lashed together with leather, but it held against his strength with power he could only attribute to magic. He was the last of the Lionhunters in the cages now. Most had been eaten. Some still lived, but he refused to see them as clanmates after what they had done.

At the far side of the tent, a corpulent figure slumbered, snoring loudly. When it awoke, it would be hungry, and then it would be his turn, or one of the two Warscreamers in the next cage.

It had been two weeks since the Tonguerippers fell upon his clan. His clan was strong, hardy, they had fended off attacks by rivals and the beasts of the deep waste for many years, but the Tonguerippers were something else entirely. They fell on his clanmates with single-minded fury, ignoring wounds that would have felled the hardiest of orcs. Ag'zal had killed some, but not enough, nowhere near enough. Ag'zal's own mate had been killed that day, torn apart and devoured by a pair of the deranged monsters.

He heard a groan, the bloated priest of the clan stirring. Ag'zal clenched his fist, he would not beg and scream as some of the others had when the abyssal priest took them. He would face death as a warrior, as he had been denied the day of the battle.

>>37146494
Ag'zal was jarred from his thoughts by a sudden scream ripping through the tent. The bloated priest thrashed wildly, clawing at his swollen belly, ripping aside his filthy robes. Blood oozed from dozens of deep stab wounds into the filthy flesh, the priest's wide, sharp toothed maw coughing up blood as he struggled to right himself, spilling tainted blood across the floor of the tent.

Two of the Tonguerippers rushed in, hulking misshapen things, they rushed to help the fallen priest, but their thick, clumsy hands only succeeded in making things worse, slapping and clawing at the priest as they tried to lift him to his feet.

“GET OUT,” the priest roared, one of the Tonguerippers falling back to the ground roaring with pain as thick fungal growths tore out of his face, the other stumbling over itself in its rush to escape the maddened priest.

“Kill you, kill you, kill you,” the priest whimpered over and over, curled up in a ball on the tent floor, whimpering softly.

Ag'zal did not know what had happened, but whatever it was, it pleased him to see.

>the wounds from the abyss beast transferred to the priest
this pleases me greatly Warlord, this is only the beginning
>>
>>37146644
You don't know yet.

You'll find out sooner or later.

>>37146656
Uh, what? Ag'zal was the orc in the cage.

>>37146664
My pleasure. Glad you had fun.
>>
>>37146644
It's a mystery~
>>37146516
Hell yeah, suck it Lorsyth!
>>37146674
That's because it took over the body of Za'zarag years ago, we will purge that abomination.
>>
I'm gunna guess the priest was the possessed Za'zarag.
>>
>>37146728
You only just figured it out?
Dude, it was basically outright stated.
>>
>>37146715
>>37146728
pretty sure that's wrong.
>>
>>37146728
A safe guess.
>>
>>37146747
Dude, it was all but stated outright in this thread and the previous information.
>Hear the priest Za'zarag is fat and bloated and disfigured
>Surprise, the soul we meet is a thin old man
>Soul we meet doesn't have memories from the last, I guess 13 or so years maybe
>etc.
>>
>>37146751
Can we have an updated map with locations of other clans that the two new lieutenants know of?
>>
>>37146846
Sure, I can draw one up.
>>
>>37146818
>>Hear the priest Za'zarag is fat and bloated and disfigured
I was under the impression that the "thing" The one that he said went out of control and stopped listening to him simply trapped him in there and made itself the new shaman.

But>>37146751 proves me wrong
>>
>>37146878
The thing was not a physical entity, the abyss is not a physical thing, it was a spiritual(?) thing communicating with Za'zarag, promising him glory, and once Za'zarag let it grow enough ti hijacked his body.
>>
>>37146942
To me it sounded like he summoned something.
>>
>>37146516
This is the exact moment we should have burst into the tent and beheaded that piece of fucking shit.
I wish we had at least done some damage to its eyes or mouth.
>>
>>37146942
Sounds like what I was thinking.
>>
>>37146866
Thanls!
>>
hey Warlord can you update the pastebin for our newly acquired luitenants and the shapeshifter priest ?
I tend to easly forgot or mix their names.
>>
>>37147082
Be patient, he will start working on the google docs again on Monday.
>>
>>37147082
Yup, like >>37147102 said, I'll be back on my proper computer from monday, then I can work on all that stuff.
>>
>>37147167
So you working on that map thing now, or for next thread?
>>
>>37147436
Next thread. I'm half-asleep right now.
>>

Can you tell us what some of the DCs we almost didn't make were? what some of the consequences would have been had we failed?
Would cutting off the piece of trash's head have killed him? Since the damage gets transferred, I assume even an abyssal messenger can't possess a headless body, since it'd be pretty dead, but at least have a hard time.
Also, the transferred damage comes from the damage the soul suffered, right, the soul that returned to the body, I mean.
>>
>>37147624
The horror fight DCs were all 16+, it was a nasty piece of work. Had you failed the roll after it had to pinned down (which was a just barely failed roll, hence why you injured it in the process), that would have been very bad.

The difficulty for the command roll on Ya'zada was also 16, so you made that, just. If you'd failed, she would have refused to apologize and requested a punishment of some sort instead, which would have worsened relations between the two clans and made the former stormhowlers very unhappy if it was something too harsh or degrading, or the goatfoots very unhappy if they thought she was getting off too lightly.

The damage to the abyssal horror wasn't a direct correlation, for example Za'zarag hacked off a leg, but he wasn't missing any limbs. There was no way to do enough damage to the thing to actually inflict a fatal wound on the physical body of the priest, you just fucked him up badly.

I wonder what these "Deep Waste" creatures are?

Also what sorts of tribes we can find past the Toungerippers?
