You enter Nidhoggr into the name slot, then his stats come up in your vision.

Name: Nidhoggr
Level: 1
HP: 25/25
Abilities: Hide, Searching, War Dance
Description: Fierce hunters, Clawfeet are capable of walking and fighting within a week of birth. Covered in a tight scaly skin that ranges in color, these monsters are stealthy and deadly ambush predators. Once grown to their middling size(6 feet long, 12 if you count the tail), Clawfeet are capable of being ridden. In the levels leading up to level 75, Clawfeet grow flaps of skin on their forelimbs that are reenforced by their migrating finger bones. Once reaching level 75, their transformation begins.

Now that your little buddy Nidhoggr is fed and playing on the table in front of you, what do you want to do?

You guys assumed the girl in the cloak was Asuna. It wasn't.

Let's be honest here.

If you give someone a suspiciously pencil-shaped wrapped item, they're gonna think it's a goddamn pencil. Giving us a cloaked girl during the first boss and expecting us to see her as anyone other than Asuna is impossible. I'll just blame Kirito for this. Fucker had to go and die and screw things up.

>>37203026
Solomon and Kirito attempted to fight the first boss by themselves and got BTFO'd.
>>
Now, what should you do with Nidhoggr?

Test his combat capabilities?

Play with him?

Train him?

No.

It's time for payback.

And you know just how to do it.

You tap on the wooden table, drawing the chick-sized raptor away from a wood plate that now has bite marks on the edge. Nid scampers over, and sits on his haunches with a chirp. His orange irises stare up at you questioningly, the Clawfoot's head cocked to the side. You cup your hands around the monster, lifting him up to your face. A few small scales brush against your lips as you explain your plan in a whisper.

You set the little monster on the table close to Machi and her Sunshark, having given Nidhoggr his instructions.

>Nidhoggr Minigame!

You are Nidhoggr and big-soft-skin-friend just held you up to his beak. No food came out. Sadness. Hunger. Big-soft-skin-friend said take hard-air from blue scale female with yellow monster.

>>
>>37203142
>Stealthy, sneak around to it
Chew on plates, continuing our behavior, make our way around the table, "testing" the different plates, until we get to blue-scale's plate. Then grab and go.

Oh, this is too great.

>>

>>
Direct is bad. Big prey stop you. Sneaky good. Hide in leaves.

You start walking away from big-soft-skin-friend, your small claws sinking into the flat tree. Your green scales stand out on the flat tree, so you continue your normal behavior. A round flat tree is nearby, loaded with prey. No, Nid. Stay focused. Big-soft-skin-friend said get hard-air from blue scale female.

You take a moment to bite at the plate, leaving a few marks on it from your mouth-points. Tastes like something new. Not good-food. Ignore.

You continue the process on three more round flat-trees, sampling each one as you walk close to blue scale female. Yellow root monster looks up at you, opens mouth. Four mouth points in blue mouth. Closes mouth. Turns away.

You hide behind a cold-shiny-earth tube, pulling in your tail. Blue scale head female is close. Smell her on soft-air. Eating long root in hot-liquid. Smell meat. Hunger. Want meat.
>What do?
>Go for the hard-air with brown liquid

>>

>Go for the hard-air with brown liquid
>>
Meeeeaaaaaaat. Nidhoggr wants meat.

No. Follow big-soft-skin-friend's instructions. He give food for hard-glass. Yes. Get hard-glass.

You wait for blue-scale head female to take her twigs and lift long roots. Then, you rush forward on your short legs. Your tail swishes back and forth, whipping the air.

You skid to a halt next to the hard-air, standing slightly taller then the hard-air. Your head snakes over and bites down on the hard-air, the sweet liquid tickling your nose.

Blue scale female looks down as you pull the hard-air along the flat tree. You hide behind the hard-glass, listening to a repetitive bark from blue-scale female. When she stops, you start pulling the hard-air again.

Three times you hide behind the hard-air, coming closer to big-soft-skin-friend each time. After a long hide barking, you drag the hard-air to big-soft-skin-friend.

Big-soft-skin-friend hands you a chunk of meat! You tear into it, pulling pieces off with your leg-points and arm-points. Your arms place the meat in your beak, swallowing each bit whole.
>You stole a chick's drink!

>Back to Sam

You watch as your little Clawfoot drags the glass across the table, hiding behind it when Machi laughs her ass off. After a few moments, he stands triumphant in front of you. He gets a piece of meat for his work.
>What do you want to do?

You pat the feeding raptor on the head, stroking down from the crest to the back Thats how you pet birds, so that's what I wrote. Does anyone know how to pet lizards?. Nidhoggr nuzzles up against your hand, rubbing his head on your thumb. Once he's finished his meal, you lift him and place him on your shoulder. He beds down on the furry cloak, squatting low with his tail out.

You drink the glass of rum Nidhoggr stole, then turn to Machi. "We're even now."
"You bought me that drink."

You win this round Machi. Someday. I shall defeat you.

Now that you've been fed and watered(including a small bit of rum for Nidhoggr), you have some stuff to do. The guild still needs to be formed, officially. And theres the matter of the shrieking coming from above the town.

Awesome. Nidhoggr is gonna be so cool.

"Hey guys? You might want to arm up." You call back inside the restaurant. They start going through their inventory, armor and weapons materializing. The twins, Ty and Rin, are already armed and dressed. They rush out of the building, pulling their hats off to see the flying monsters.

To the flyer!

"Lets get going. Hector, can you throw your pilum at the wyvern? Get onto a tall building if you can." Your three legionaries nod and start shoving their way through the throng of people. As they go, they spread word of it being an event. Best to not get blamed for this.

You start down the road with the rest of your guild, leading a tide of players. The green wyvern flies in circles over the town, her wings beating the air. A trio of throwing spears slam into the monster's body, the glowing weapons sinking into the flesh. The monster roars, and it's mate lifts off.

Following the flying mother through the streets, Tori throws a dart into the monster's body. When the poison doesn't take effect, she switches to normal darts. Close to nothing happens to the monster's two health bars. The pilum did much more, about seven percent of the monsters total HP.

You climb onto one of the flat-topped houses, when the female wyvern turns sharply in the air. She beats the air, touching down on the roof with a roar.

The monster's already agro'ed against you, smelling Nidhoggr on you. You charge at the angry mother, as three more pilum shoot into her side. Her health dips down again, and she flares up onto her hind legs. You follow her forward, and slam your shieldboss into her.

The twins rush in on both sides, their blue blades shining. The female monster takes a wound to her side, then swings her tail at Ty. He gets hit with the club-like end, sending him flying off the roof. You hit the distracted monster with your axe, cutting away at it's HP.

Machi switches in, sending you to the back rows. Yuki rushes in at your side, her dragon bone hammer swinging at the monster's ribs. Henry is circling around the monster, his one-handed spear stabbing holes into the monster as he moves. The three legionaries are jumping across rooftops, coming to help you. Where the hell is Ty?

The monster is at about 80% of it's health, and it's mate is off fighting another group of players.

YOu open your inventory, withdrawing the Axe of the Titans from it. Your unequipped weapon and shield disappear, replaced by the two handed axe. Your guild is almost together, missing only Ty from the battle at the moment.

As a group, your guild starts their attack. The three legionaries form ranks, and rush the monster in unison. The monster reels with the blows, flapping it's wing to keep it's balance. Their golden blades cut small holes into the monster's muscular hind leg. It's other wing sweeps at the romans, it's hand grabbing onto Octavia's shield rim.

The green wyvern, almost twenty feet long, pulls with all her flight muscles. Octavia is pulled in close to the monster, then takes a deep wound from the monster's toe. Her health drops into the yellow, then Yuki hits the wyvern's jaw with the hammer. Three teeth fly from the monster's mouth, dissolving in the air.

You run forward, grabbing hold of the girl's armor straps. Dragging her away from the monster, you draw the ire of the monster. It pounces at you, it's bloody mouth open. It bites down at your head, stopped by your battleaxe. It bites down, trying to shake you from your axe.

Unrelenting Force is a passive skill, you don't have to activate it. Kinda like Kirito using two swords.

With the monster clutching the haft of your axe, you are being shaken like a dog shakes a rat. You manage to keep hold of the wood, pulling your body close to the axe. The head starts to glow gold, the axe spin skill beginning.

You let the attack take over, your body being guided by the Sword Skill. Your swing the axe head through the monster's jaw, cutting through the lower piece. It cuts the monster two more times, it's lower jaw made into a mess of white lines and green scales.

The monster flies up, with your arm grabbing hold of it's leg instinctively. It's health is at the yellow, the upper bar depleted. All that remains is the lower one, and the other wyvern. You clamber up the monster, letting your axe break into pieces so you can hold on with two hands. It returns to your inventory, leaving you unarmed except a few throwing axes.

On the monster's back, you sit behind it's wings. The other wyvern is still on the ground, fighting against a six players.

"Damn. I can not wait till Nid can do this!" You shout, then remember whats happening. Right, slaying the monster and all that. Fine.

You pet your Clawfoot familiar, whose balancing on your shoulder. Then an axe materializes from your inventory, a small throwing axe. The blade glows deep blue, and you launch it at the left wing. It embeds in the bone, dealing damage until it is dislodged by a wing beat. You launch the three other ones in your inventory, slashing holes in the monster's light green wing.

Your throwing weapons depleted, you withdraw your dwarven axe. You swing it down into the monster's back, and pull yourself forward over the spiked scales. You start chopping at the monster's shoulder, drawing out a roar of anger.

The left wing falls away, attached by a thin flap of skin. And now you're falling.

Dwarven Steering Wheel!

Well, this isn't good.

You remove your axe from the material world, placing it in the safety of your inventory. You would like to do the same for Nidhoggr, but settle for wrapping him up in your cloak. That should provide him with some cushion during impact.

With your familiar stuffed under your blue shirt, you reach over to the destroyed wing. The monster beneath you is still trying to flap, the nub moving up and down frantically. In a barrel roll from there only being one wing, you reach out at the arm.

Grabbing hold of the bone, you pull it up. The air beats against your wing, pushing it so it catches the air. Slowly, your flight evens out. You find that you can steer slightly by manipulating the wing's position.

Now, what is it sky writers are good for?

Oh yeah. Advertisements. Now, if only you had a fire.

Oh well, guess reenacting 9/11 with dragons will have to do.

The male wyvern is fighting with a large group of players, about fifteen in number. You steer the wyvern towards the male, letting the wing drop to lose altitude. Finally, when you're in a flightpath to hit the male, you take your axe out. A final blow to the wing dislodges it from the monster.

You jump from the wyvern as it starts a barrel roll once more. Sheathing your axe, you grab onto the wing. The air rushes past you, a church tower passing your vision.

Finally, when you think you're about to die, the wing catches. You jerk to a gentle fall, the wing slowing you.
"RAGNORAK GUILD SAVES THE DAY AGAIN!" You shout to the players below, as the green wyverns slam into each other. The female, having lost a huge chunk of her health from the wing removal, breaks into pieces on impact. The male dissolves as well, his head cut off by a wing claw.

You slowly fall, circling due the wing's shape. A stumbling run across a roof ends your first parachuting attempt. You trip on the roof's lip, rolling in a protective ball to a halt on the cobblestone roads. You stand up and pull Nidhoggr from under your shirt. Thankfully, he isn't hurt. The sixteen players that fought the male look at you in shock.

"Well, that sucks, cause I still need to kill a T-Rex."

"Cool. I'm Sam. And you?"
"James. So, do I have to fight a dino to join? Get a cloak like your's? Where'd you get that anyway? Does it give you any defense? Where'd you learn to parachute? Can you teach me? What's that? Is that a dinosaur? Can I get one? Is he nice? Can I pet him?" The little blond kid speaks so fast you barely catch what he says. Now how to answer him... "Where do you live? Is it nice there? What do you thinks happening there right now? What music do you like? Can you play any instruments? My sister can play the clarinet. You should meet her. She's about as old as you. When do you think we'll get out of SAO?"

Reeling from the kid's assault, you place Nidhoggr on his shoulder. The kid goes silent almost instantly, grinning broadly at the little dinosaur. "Is your sister in SAO?" You're answered by a head shake. "Okay, then I guess you can join. How do you feel about fighting a Trex?"

Dear god, why did you ask him that?

Leaving the scene of the battle, James follows you back to your guild. You introduce the pre-pubesent fighter, leading to all the girls(and Ty) crowding around him. This leaves you with Henry, Hector and Jason. You call to the girls to meet at the inn when they're done messing with James.

Hey, you gotta respect someone who can go through multiple level 1 weapons in a single run.
>>
Following the lead of all great men, you go to the tavern/inn. You sit at one of the long wooden tables, made from a single tree trunk that was cut down the x-axis. The underside of the table is still covered by a thick layer of bark. Looks like redwood, the bark being the same fibrous type as a sequoia. The barkeep brings a platter over, balancing four mugs and a shot glass. The humans get the mugs, which are filled with a watered-down rum that seems to be the drink of this level. Nidhoggr gets water with some weak poison that you mix in.

You look at your inventory, noting the extra gold and new item. Wyvern's Wing. Seems like it can be a trophy, made into a real parachute, or a cape. You do need something for when you're out of your armor. Right now, you're wearing the clothing given out to everyone when their character is designed. Even Hector, whose not very into fashion got a jacket.

Five minutes later, the rest of your guild comes through the inn's door. They sit at the table, Ty and Rin sitting together like always. I swear, if you had to use the bathroom in this world, they'd go in together.

Rolled 35 (1d100)

You talk into the night, Machi coving James' ears when things start heading in the "adult" direction. In the morning, you eat a large breakfast, and stock up on healing crystals and potions.

At nine, you leave the walls of the town.

You let Nidhoggr lead the way, following the cocky little raptor through the undergrowth. He doesn't often think that you're bigger than he is, leading to there being a path of chopped up vegetation behind your party.

You stop at a large watering hole, resting in the shadows while you wait for a Swordmouth.

At noon, Henry and Ty unpack food for the guild. You eat your sandwich nervously, expecting a Trex to jump out at any moment.

1:38, a herd of dinosaurs start coming your way. Their cursers mark them as safe to be around, so unless you attack them, they won't attack.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM-RPO10aPY

A Swordmouth feeds on a dinosaur, ripping flesh from the dead body. It's nostrils flare, the air venting from them flattening the grass.

"Okay, follow my lead." You whisper to your guild, everyone nodding. You equip your two handed axe, no need for a shield in this fight. Hopefully.

"CHARGE!" You break through the brush, your guild running in a line with you at the fifty foot monster. It doesn't look at you, focused on eating as much of the carcass. Until you hit it in the face with a giant axe.

Then it looks at you.

When did a dinosaur learn how to look like you just fucked it's mother?

The cave opens wide, white stalagmites gleaming with blood and spittle. A deafening roar comes from within, specks of the spit flying from the roar's force. The grass flattens around you, Nidhoggr bunching up on the ground, ready to fight.

Ummm...What was the rest of your plan?

Your party attacks the monster from the sides, chopping into it's three health bars. Three gold gladii spark against the monster's leg, the scales working like heavy metal armor. Yuki takes her hammer to the monster's leg bone, a heavy blow that doesn't do any damage except to it's HP. Tori is standing off at a distance, throwing what you assume are poisoned darts at the monster. Most have sailed down the monster's throat.

You fall back a bit, letting your teammates attack the monster where it can't eat them. Once they've done some more damage and drawn the monster's agro, you Howl as loud as possible. It's not nearly as loud as the rex's, but you manage to get the monster to look at you again.
It rushes forward, it's smartcar sizedhead opened to allow you to climb inside. You decide not to, and dive to the side. Tori, who was a few yard behind you, dives to the other side after throwing another dart at the monster. White foam is starting to form in it's mouth, and it's health is going down at about five per minute.

The twins rush up at the monster, leaping fifteen feet in the air to reach the scaly tail. Balancing on top of the swishing tail, they walk up the monster's back. Plopping down on it's ribs, they plunge their rapiers into it's flesh.

With the monster distracted by the two people riding it(isn't that your job?), you run towards it's legs. Standing below it's dick-bone-thing, you activate the Axe Spin. Your blade glows green, and you start spinning around beneath a giant lizard.

The Swordmouth roars in annoyance, a group of tiny monster attacking it for no reason. Nidhoggr jumps at the monster with his claws sheathed in red light. The chick-sized familiar does no damage to the monster's toe.

You pull your axe up for an Executioner's Strike, the blade golden. When you look at the monster after the strike, it's tail is about half the normal length and white glows at the end.

"Shields! Ram the left leg! Together!" You scream as the monster heads at Tori. She's the most Agility focused, so she should be able to handle the rex.

The five shield users cluster together, waiting for you to join them. The Romans are in the lead, hitting the monster first. They'll split off after impact so Machi and you can hit. Then comes Henry.

As the monster lunges at Tori and receives another dart to the face for it's trouble, the three romans throw their pilum and charge. They slam into the scaled leg of the Swordmouth with their armor jangling. The leg skids across the grass, claws fighting for purchase. Then you hit it, your shield sends a crack into the scale. You spin away, leaving the monster open to Henry.

The guy who can sprint at almost a hundred miles per hour.

Using a move that depends on speed for power.

Poor Swordmouth never saw him coming.

A scream of fear comes with Henry's impact, the monster's leg twisting sickeningly. He backpedals away from the monster, the twins leaping off it's back as it collapses. They roll away, the crash of the monster sending a wave of dust after them.

With the monster on it's side, you rush at it's back. With a dozen people and a Clawfoot wailing on it's back, the Swordmouth's health drops quickly. First the top bar drains, then the second. In the red, the monster wails piteously. Your raptor climbs onto the monster in triumph, thinking that he had been the one to slay the beast.

The Swordmouth rolls over suddenly, sending Nid flying. It's claws flash out at James, the small blond boy taking heavy damage while dropping his axe. Machi gets grabbed by the monster's hands, each one as big as their captive.

Hell no. And just when you were starting to feel sorry for the trex, it has to pull a stunt like this.

You barrel forward from your spot at the monster's belly, your Axe of the Titans glowing gold. Machi is Being cut to pieces by the monster's claws, taking her down from full health to yellow is the few moments he's had hold of her.

You swing the axe with every bit of your virtual strength at the monster's shoulders. Machi's Sunshark darts in at the monster's plate-sized eye, digging into it so spurts of clear liquid shoot out. An arm falls away at your blow, Machi scrambling out of the grip of the other. You cut it off as well with a overhead blow, just to be sure.

Disarmed, the monster gets a second helping of getting cut to pieces. That metaphor doesn't really work, but that doesn't occur to you as you're chopping at the monster's neck. Your friends join in the festivities, merrily cutting holes into the monster's hide. That could just be you projecting your feelings onto them, but who cares?

The final blow goes to Jason, his Imperial Gold Gladius stabbed down into the monster's eye. Everyone watches as it dissolves, followed by a few people getting surrounded by golden glows. You're include in the number!

"Jason, you get anything cool?"
"Yeah, all of it's scales and a tooth sword. I bet Chris can make the scales into armor for us, get all suited up for the next boss."

You received a Bolt of Swordmouth Skin and 1 Tooth Dagger.

Once you find that everyone has received a tooth dagger(excluding Jason), you decide to get back to the town and start your guild. Leaving the site of the battle, you start the long walk back to town. After three hours in the muggy forest, you burst out into the plains. The stone walls rise from the grass, the church towers sticking up past them.

You get through the gates without having to fight, following a glowing line on your map. At the church, a priest stands waiting for you. His white clothing stand out against the grey and white stones of the large building.

>>
>>37214591
Well, it depends. You get to design the building by listing off what you want there to be. Then you'll need to either buy or find the needed supplies.

Example:
If you want a trampoline, Chris could make the springs, but you would need to hunt a monster for a skin to make into the part you bounce on. Or you could buy the skin, if you're boring

The benefits of a guildhall are that it's cheaper in the long run than living in an inn. You can get better thinks as well, comforts that aren't standard like a giant firepit on which you can burn your enemies for all eternity. However, they cost a lot up front which is kinda offputting to smaller guilds
