You are in a video game. This world operates on video game logic. Exploit this. Think like you're playing a RPG or MMO.

It's been a week since you formed the Ragnorak guild. Other guilds have come to you for advice on how to kill a Swordmouth, which you give out freely. About five guilds have completed the mission, made up of mostly the people who fought Illfang and the Minotaur on level 2.

You've been shopping around for a guildhall, a few places that are already made catching your eye. A large treefort stands in a small town of other treehouses. The twins and Henry love it, being able to jump between trees and move like Tarzan due to their Acrobatics skill. In the city of Criton, floor 3's main city, a small building leads to an underground cave that could be made into a guildhall or shop.

Until you decide, you'll live in the inn. The price isn't too bad, 50 Cor a day each. Chris makes enough selling his work to offset the cost and still make a profit. Diavel's guild, The Knights of the Realm, has already bought a plot of land to make into a castle. During their quest for the Holy Grail/good stone for the castle, they manage to find the boss room. Now they're planning a raid, which you could help plan. If you want, of course, TKR has some very good players who have been doing things fine so far.

You get out of bed, equipping your clothes and the wolfskin cloak. You're in a safezone, so theres really no need for armor. You look in the mirror, a luxury that cost you an extra ten Cor a day. Maybe it's time to get some new clothes, or at least a jacket.

Leaving the temporary guildhall you've set up at an inn, you merge into the crowd of players heading out for the day. You pick up a Compy egg omelet with cheese, eating the food while you walk. The plate dissolves when you're finished, removing the need for trashcans.

At the western side of the city, a once empty lot is being set upon by NPC builders and a small group of players. Diavel's blue hair stands out, leaning over a table with plans.
"Hey, Diavel! I heard you were planning the boss raid." You call out to the knight, who looks up from his table.
"Ah, Samual. You are good, yes? Come over here. We've been working on Camelot, but you can look over our plans if you want." Diavel sends you a scroll, containing all the knowledge of the boss.

It's a humanoid reptile, with a strange Chinese weapon. It's two balls on a chain, letting it attack with sweeping blows and quick jabs with a ball. The beta testers say it has four health bars, with it's attack patterns changing once it's half way dead. The room is about the size of a football field, slightly wider though.
>So, what's the plan?
>>
>>37245716
Pin it between two shield walls while archers and dart throwers bombard it via range. Dps dealers dart in from the sides the break off.
>>
>>37245870
There are no bow's in the game
>>
"Could work, but the shieldwalls will be vulnerable to sweeping blows. I was thinking of pairing as many people off with tanks as possible and then having the pairs switch out when needed. We can hammer out the details later." Diavel says. "So, was there anything else you wanted to say to me?"
>No, go do...
>Yes, Insert words

Ask him how their quest for Holy Grail/good stone for the castle went. It could be god to know once we try ourselves.

>>37246226
Well, we'll need to get people's levels up. Theres a finite amount of exp., so it comes down to quantity verses quality. We had fifty players on floor 2, so I think we'll be fine. Even if they are below average, theres gonna be players making guilds that will fight on lower floors"

>To the tailor's!

You say goodbye to the knights, then start down the streets toward the market. A small player, in leather and with a knife, bumps into you as you're walking.

At the market, you head to the closest clothing shop. A small stone building holds a passageway to an underground store. The walls are bare stone, grey and cold. Racks filled with clothes and an glass island with jewelry cover the floor, with dressing rooms carved into the back. Two people man the shop, a pair of girls that are drastically different in looks. One is caucasian, with blond hair and a weird monocle thing. The other is asian, Japanese no doubt. A large apron holds spools of thread and shears, and many things judging from the bulging pockets.

"What can we do for you?" The tailor asks.
>Get a jacket from off the rack

Shit! Did that little kid steal something? You check your inventory. Huh. There's something new. <<Gold Ingot>> Why the hell did a little kid give you that?

"You guys remember the wyvern attacks?" The girls nod. "Well, when I went skydiving off one, I got wyvern wing leather. Can you make that into something?"
"Sure, take it out for me."

The tailor works her magic on the wing, taking measurements on both it and you. After what seems like an invasion of privacy, she starts working on a jacket. The wing melts down, reforming in the form of a jacket.

Dark green, the leather jacket has pieces of the white bone at the neck and shoulders. Gold thread gleams at the seams, standing out against the dark leather.
"That will be five hundred Cor, please."

You debate giving her your new gold ingot, then send her the money.

You walk back to the inn, where your friends are eating and talking. They quickly go silent when you place the ingot on the table. YOu give them time to read it, before posing your question. What the hell is this about?
"Sounds like someone wants you for a job." Machi says.
"You've watched too many spy movies Machi." Tori says to her blue-haired friend.
Henry mumbles slightly. "It sounds like someone want's your cream Sam."

After eating again with your friends, you head over to the teleport plaza. A second passes, and you are back at the second floor. The pasture stretches out beyond the town, filled with monsters and low level players grinding.

You take your chicken-sized raptor off the ground, where he's sniffing the stones. Holding him up to your face, you switch on Familiar Communication. Might as well get some experience in it.
"Find: Trembling Cow."

Nidhoggr nod his scaly head, then hops onto the ground. His eyes flare blue, then he starts walking. You follow the green raptor out the gates, pushing past a few players selling gear. Their gear probably isn't anywhere as good as yours anyway. Especially your new jacket. That shit is awesome.

The monster cuts a path through the brown grass, his tail sticking up like a corn stalk. You pass players fighting bulls, their swords glowing as they attack. You ignore them, following Nidhoggr.

Your little raptor hops up onto your shoulder, jerking his head at a patch of dark brown on the brown and green field. That is a very big patch for a single monster.

Well this should be fun.

You equip your axe, placing your armor on quickly. Then comes your axe, the two handed blade forming out of white light. Nidhoggr jumps to your side, his clawed toes glowing red. Aww, he wants to fight too.

Five males charge at you in a spearhead, their horns lowered. Your familiar leaps over them, his muscular legs propelling his compact body on top of a bull. His claws cut into the monster's face, his head latching to the monster's ear.

You debate replicating it, but then remember that white men can't jump. Or dance, but that doesn't really matter in this.

You Axe Spin, the black blade sheathed in gold. It cuts the lead bull's snout in two, the nose falling to the ground. The charge leads two more monsters into the axe's range, chopping off one of their giant horns. That would make a good glass if it was hollowed out...

The leading monster veers off, it's face a mangled mess. The brown fur contrasts the white lines, which quickly shrink. Nidhoggr leaps off his mount as it bucks, bouncing off your shoulder onto another monster. The bucking bronco snorts loudly, and gores your side with a horn. A hunk of your health disappears, about five percent of your total.

The other four monsters are circling round for another charge, in pairs. One is being assaulted by Nid, while his previous victim attacks you with stabs of it's horns.

The monster is getting annoying, so you swing at it. The black blade cuts the monster's head all the way through, making it dissolve instantly.

One monster down, four to go.

You wait for the next monster to charge, it's wide horns lowered to gore you in the stomach.. Your axe flashes out at it, scoring a line from it's head to the tail. It splits in two pieces, dissolving.

The remaining three monsters are reluctant to attack, after seeing what you and your pet can do. Nidhoggr stands at your side, ready to keep fighting. Your health is at 90%, Nid is at 100%

Your dinosaur follows you as you rush forward at the bulls, out of range of your axe. Your axe glows gold, and you feel the weapon activate a Sword Skill.

A gold halo appears around your waist, broken in three places. The trio of monsters stagger back, their faces mauled beyond recognition. Nidhoggr follows up your blow, jumping onto the closest monster and tearing into it. Once that monster dissolves, you corral the remaining two close to Nid so he can finish them off.

Nid levels up as he executes the last bull, growing a bit larger so he is as long as a small dog. Nid is much lighter than a dog, of course, due to his lightweight bones and muscles.

The remaining monsters aren't even worthy of being called monsters. A large cow stands alone in the field with a small calf at it's side.

Samuel:....Nid.....How the fuck can you milk a cow!?
>>
Okay Sam, no need to be an asshole. Just go in and milk the cow. How hard can it be?

You put the axe into it's sheath on your back, then tell your familiar to not kill the monsters.

You slowly walk up to the Trembling Cow, which is living up to it's name. "Come on Bessie. I'm not gonna hurt ya."

Channeling Steve Irwin, you run your hand down the monsters side while whispering sweet nothings in it's ear. Nid gets close enough to push away the cow's calf, and grabs onto the monster's udder.

In a few moments, you receive a notification that you have 10 Trembling Cremes.

"How the fuck did you milk a cow?" You look down at the little monster, that has moved to sit happily at your feet. He shrugs like a little person, his time with you teaching him the mannerisms of humans.
>You now have the cream, what do you want to do?

Now I know we just witnessed something that defies logic, but how does a cow produce Cream straight out of the udder?

Try some cream with Nid. Do we have some bread or something?

I also meant for Nid to use his mouth, but I had trouble making a sentence that made sense. And didn't sound dirty.
>>
You stare at your familiar for a minute, literally no idea how he was able to do that. Finally, you let it go and grab hold of the cow. By gently pulling on her ear, you are able to guide her around. Her calf, female by your guess, follows meekly. Nid sits on top of the calf like a cowboy. If cowboys had a legs and scales. The comparison doesn't really work when you think about it too hard.

You remove a Trembling Cream from the inventory, a metal pail filled with off-white liquid. You tae a sip and almost fall over from the flavor. Truly a great delecosy. So you let Nidhoggr have a drink. He earned it, leveling up and then milking a cow. Seriously, how did he do that?

Players look at you in confusion as you lead the cow towards the town. Their opponents, bulls for the most part, stop fighting and sniff the air. The players quickly attack the monsters, taking advantage of the distraction.

You get the NPC guards to open the city gates, and lead the pair of monsters in. Their hooves click against the stone road, drawing gazes from players.

At the tavern's entrance, the doorframe are carved with a twisting dragon. The monster's head is at the top of the frame, and serves as a bracket for a torch. You push the thick oaken door open with one finger.

"This" You place the gold ingot onto the table with a heavy thunk. The child nods then starts dealing the cards. You receive a king of spades and the 4 of clubs.

You call, and the child flicks a card over to you. It flips onto it's back, revealing a five of spades.

Thats twenty. Seems like a good hand. You stay when he asks you again, then watch as on of the guys busts. The other calls again.

When everyone is done getting their cards, you lay them out on the table. The dealer, a black haired kid who can't be more than twelve, waits until last. A seventeen for the other player, a bust, and a twenty.

The dealer puts down a twenty one. "Blackjack" He takes your gold bar, along with sacks of gold from the other players.

"I need you to get me something. Now, as you probably know, this world works on math. Some things give you benefits, like my lucky dice here." He holds up a pair of red six sided dice. "They give bonuses to luck. That's why I beat you in cards. Now, a guild member of mine left us and joined up with another. He took our best item with him. I want you to get it back for me."

He's named Franklin, but his character name is LEET69. You can guess why he told us his real name. He's level 8, or he was when he left the guild. The item is called The Elixir of Tyche, and it was in a dungeon that I found. Ask anyone in my guild, they'll tell you the same things."

Exactly. You are the perfect man for the job. All you have to do is punch him in the face or something, and he'll be at 1 health. Then you say, that unless he hands over the item, you'll end his miserable little life. Or something to that end.

>>37253241
Yes

We could try just to see if the his story checks out and simply ask the guy for the item. If we can't just lets get back to our guild

"So do it in a safezone. You can use that big axe of yours and it won't kill him"

Kek. Definitely say that.

there's a knockback effect and we can effectively zone him. Also the intimidation would be pretty convincing.

Still don't want to do that.

The fact that we've been deliberating it this long is actually kind of humiliating.

Reason for Whiskers has it at 2 hours.

That's...not a lot of time. I was hoping that we could kill the floor boss, and split into one group that hunts Laughing Coffin and another that surrounds the teleport gate. This will bait the ones that get away to run into the 4th floor, where nothing is mapped out yet.

the main problem is the regular players. How do we stop them from slipping into the regular players? Just use orange cursors?

You say goodbye to the child and leave the tavern. You take the teleport plaza to floor 3, then walk to the location of Camelot. The Knights of the Realm are all asleep, but you head to the largest tent and ask for Diavel.

After explaining what you learned to Diavel, he looks slightly scared but determined. "Are you sure about this?"
"Some kid was able to give a gold bar worth a couple thousand Cor just for talking to me. If that doesn't mean that he has good luck, I don't know what does. Anyway, we better check just to be sure."
"If you say so. I'll check with that kid before I do anything. What do you plan to do about it anyway? It's not like we can just kill them."

Laughing coffin has a Red leader and quite a few Orange players, lock up the oranges scatter the guild. He'll come out and we make him a trade for what he has or get him to bet it on a duel.

"Thanks. I'll see you soon Diavel."

You leave the tent and follow the streets to the inn you rented out for your guild. In the tavern portion, a few of your guild eating and shooting the shit. You sit with the five people, only Chris being an original member of your party. You order a burger, rare with cheese and bacon.

You explain what happened in the last hour in between bites. Finally, you finish and start taking questions. Tori goes to the rooms and wakes up the rest of your guild, and you explain it once more. Two hours later, you've finished talking about logistics and the plan.

>End SAO Quest 10

oh, hell no. screw getting that thing back for the kid, and screw keeping it for ourselves like some of you schemers are thinking(you know who you are)

We need to destroy this thing. people will go to war over something like this. like legit bronze age. players are only human, and there are only so many upstanding types that won't give in to temptation.

For the sake of stability, this item needs to disappear, whoever has it, no one wins.
